Open Border Shyster John McCain Deserves a Dunce Cap
Pam Meister
In the days of yore, students who did not make a valid attempt to learn their lessons and acquitted themselves badly at recitation time were sometimes relegated to a corner of the room in order to shame them. Sometimes a pointed cap would be put on their heads as a warning to other students: learn your lessons or you’ll be the next fool on display.
In today’s world, putting a student in a corner – much less with a dunce cap – would land the teacher in hot water, not the student who would rather play video games than study history or science. But I’d like to slap a big, fat dunce cap on John McCain, the man who claims to have learned his lesson when it comes to border security and amnesty for illegal aliens.
As a quick refresher, proposed bills with amnesty provisions – the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill and the Dream Act – were both soundly trounced in Congress. Why? Because Americans, tired of our borders resembling a revolving door and illegal aliens barging in and demanding the rights of citizens, made their voices heard loud enough for the bills to be voted down. The Maverick, as McCain is endearingly called by the media, said, “I got the message. We will secure the border first, then move on to other issues.”
(His campaign website is a bit thin on just how he plans to secure the borders, but don’t worry – would a self-proclaimed straight talker steer you wrong?)
McCain learned his lesson, all right, but not the one we wanted him to – it looks more like he received an A+ in “tell the voters what they want to hear.”
Michelle Malkin reports that Dr. Juan Hernandez “is in tight” with the top tier of McCain’s campaign team. Hernandez, Malkin writes,
was a close advisor to Vicente “Welcome to North America” Fox and headed up a Mexican bureaucracy called the “Presidential Office for Mexicans Abroad.” It was designed to allow Hernandez to travel across the country, meddling with local, state, and federal immigration enforcement on behalf of millions of illegal aliens in America. He lobbied for illegal alien driver’s licenses and Mexico first, defended Mexican bus operators carrying illegal aliens to the USA, and promoted extending banking privileges to illegal aliens.
In an interview on ABC News’s Nightline, Hernandez stated bluntly that he was betting that the Mexican American population in the United States – all generations – “will think Mexico first…”I want ‘em all to think Mexico first.”
World Net Daily is also reporting on the story. Apparently Hernandez is a non-paid volunteer who helps “reach out to the Hispanic community” and “does not play a policy role.” However, when asked if the McCain campaign has rejected Hernandez’s “Mexico first” statements, a McCain spokesman wouldn’t give a direct answer.
Are we supposed to be reassured that McCain has a man who wants Americans of Mexican descent to “think Mexico first” is hobnobbing with his top campaign advisors? Paid or unpaid, official policy guy or no, I think the American public needs to know exactly where McCain stands on the idea of Americans putting the interests of another nation first.
For those of you who wonder why the Constitution forbids a naturalized citizen from running for president, this is a perfect illustration as to why. Divided loyalties to not an effective president make. And while McCain was born and bred right here in America, it makes you wonder what kind of president he’ll make when he puts the needs of open borders advocates ahead of the legitimate concerns of citizens who not only want our security and sovereignty to come first, but don’t want to extend an undeserved welcome mat to line jumpers from the south of the border.
And if Americans don’t heed these blaring warnings about the McCain candidacy, then maybe we’re the ones who deserve the dunce cap.
