To protect & serve our border

by Michael Webster: Investigative Reporter:
The Laguna Journal has learned that a special U.S. Military Task Force has been created to protect our southern border with Mexico. Members of this task force is preparing to secure the border by responding with specially trained fast response U.S. Army task force military units. These forces are already in place with the heart of the power being concentrated in El Paso and Southern New Mexico with a far reaching responsibility from East Texas to Southern California. They are being staged and immediately available as emergency  “on call” units for use against terrorist threats on the nation’s border and local disasters, said Gen. Victor E. Spitzer taken down by Mossad?

Eliot Spitzer took on Wall Street like no other attorney general before him. As the Washington Post reported in 2004, “His targets in the past have included everyone from big Wall Street investment banks and the $7.5 trillion mutual fund industry to polluting power plants and supermarket chains that underpaid delivery workers.”

Jaffa’s Hitlerian Defense of Lincoln

March 14, 2008 1 comment

by Thomas J. DiLorenzo

In his book, A New Birth of Freedom, Harry Jaffa begins the second chapter with a quotation of Adolph Hitler taken from a book authored by Hermann Rauschning in which Hitler supposedly said that after the Southern states were conquered in America “the beginnings of a great new social order based on the principle of slavery and inequality were destroyed . . .” He later (page 503, note 10) makes the incredibly vulgar and tasteless comment that his old intellectual nemesis, the late Mel Bradford, agreed with Hitler. How charming that Jaffa would put such a thing in print for the family and friends of the quintessential Southern gentleman/scholar, the late Professor Bradford, to see.

The Essence of Liberty : Part 261 (1) The Supreme Court vs. Christianity

The Essence of Liberty : Part 261 (1)

Chapter 10: The Grand Wizard’s Imperial Court

The Supreme Court vs. Christianity

In Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971) the court announced what is known as the “Lemon test.” It said that state law must have a secular purpose, it can neither advance nor inhibit religion, and it must not “foster excessive church-state entanglement.” The problem is that the Court did not find any of that within the language of the Constitution. In other words, the Court was unconstitutionally making law which the ratifiers would have rejected.

Chief Justice Warren Burger’s opinion was a mixture of condescension and historical ignorance. Just as Earl Warren (his predecessor), Burger understood the Court as being a permanent constitutional convention that could decide issues purposefully left to the states.

Gaffes live forever in a Web storehouse of video clips, which also eliminates the media middleman for many voters

DIGG THIS

After speaking to a group of veterans in South Carolina last April as part of his “Straight Talk Express,” Sen. John McCain was asked by an audience member when the United States would send an “airmail message to Tehran.” The senator stopped for a moment, then reminded the audience of “an old Beach Boys song, ‘Bomb Iran.’” Bomb, bomb, bomb … bomb, bomb Iran. He sang those words to the tune of “Barbara Ann.”

DIGG THIS

The Republican Party, in its search for consistency, has now nominated a confessed war criminal to be its presidential nominee. Having a war criminal for president for the past eight years, at least now the republicans have a candidate who admits it.

While John McCain states that he signed a confession admitting to being a war criminal after being tortured repeatedly, this was most likely the only time in his military/political career he embraced the truth.

‘Fighting For Life’ Shows Real Blood, And Real Guts

Most documentaries about the Iraq war have sought to investigate, expose, critique and provoke. “Fighting for Life” bucks that trend. Rather than join the polemical free-for-all of the past five years, filmmaker Terry Sanders has chosen to take viewers on a riveting, often painfully graphic journey through the extraordinary efforts of military physicians, nurses and medical aides who receive their training at the elite Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda. As one of the film’s subjects astutely observes, issues of life and death on the battlefield transcend politics.

Big Corn and Ethanol Hoax

One of the many mandates of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 calls for oil companies to increase the amount of ethanol mixed with gasoline. President Bush said, during his 2006 State of the Union address, “America is addicted to oil, which is often imported from unstable parts of the world.” Let’s look at some of the “wonders” of ethanol as a replacement for gasoline.

Bringing Down Spitzer: It’s the Big Brother Who Should Bother Us

Gov. Spitzer’s bust should give pause to those in Congress who are ready to hand President Bush a free pass to continue his six-yearcampaign of warrantless spying on Americans.

We now know from yesterday’s Wall Street Journal article that the spyingBush has been doing through the National Security Agency since early 2001 has included vast computer sweeps of not just internet and phone activity, but also bank and credit card transactions. These are sweeps of ordinary everyday people, with computers looking for odd transactions, or for code words, or for transactions involving specific targeted organizations or addresses.

PROSTITUTES ARE JUST STRUGGLING SINNERS

Isn’t New York getting a face-lift, though. Now a fill-in Governor will take over the reigns of the State of New York. Let’s just hope he can set a sound moral example! What is there about so many politicians that goes straight to narcissism and law-breaking? What is the code that was broken by Eliot Spitzer and what have we learned? Well, you know exactly how a Governor is going to sin and commit crimes by how hard he harasses and attacks those very industries, i.e. prostitution rings, corporate and ethical compromises with Wall Street and crime families. Obviously, this arrogant bozo needed the challenge to live on the edge, trick the public and his family, and see how long he could get away with it. Well, now he knows. Six years of visits to the prostitute and $80,000 of mystery money, which no doubt will be investigated. Indictments may yet be coming if not a talk show.

TAKING A TOLL ON THE PEOPLE

You’re driving north on the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95), heading toward the Big Apple. Cruising along, you pass exits 12, then 11, 10, 9 and 8, and everything is fine. Then you come to exit 7, and traffic starts to slow down; soon, it’s a New York bumper-to-bumper nightmare, the worst kind. Creeping along like an inchworm missing a few millimeters, you know that traffic will abate just down the road, just a few miles – and an hour and a half – away. You also know why:

While it is still eight-and-a-half months away, we already know the Election of 2008 is in the toilet. The people—even those who like the candidates we will be forced to choose from—have already lost because the designated winners and losers are all losers. John McCain. Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama. The issues that will be enacted during the 111th and 112th Congress will destroy the fabric of America and leave the United States torn, tattered and bleeding profusely. The North American Union. Amnesty for illegals. Erasing US borders. Adding more social progressives to the federal judiciary in order to eliminate the Bill of Rights—and with it, freedom of speech and the right of citizens to own firearms because sovereignty will not be surrendered back to Europe as long as US citizens are armed and willing to fight to preserve their nation.
