NOW, LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT….

Sometimes, when things get confusing it helps to jot yer thoughts down on paper and then read it all back.
Surprisingly, sometimes as you go through this process things become much clearer to you, they say. I’ve done this b4, and it usually makes me feel at least a little better.

The problem seems to be gub-mint; specifically, the three branches of gubmint–executive, judicial, and legislative–actually, four branches if you include as the fourth, the so-called “fourth estate” (or ‘fifth column” preferred by some).

The legislative branch, among many other things, as of late has taken to granting massive “bailouts” to financial institutions, etc. What about we the people, you ask–forget them (us), they (we) don’t count. So intent on these bailouts, congress actually had to threaten some of its members–according to congressmen/senators, whatever–with martial law….

Senator McCain thought the whole thing so important he suspended his presidential campaign and rushed back to DC to straighten things out–but when he got there he just wound up voting with the rest of the herd. But today, he was back criticising Bush for his bailout, I read.

According to traffic on the Internet the gentleman elected to be the next potus isn’t even eligible to be potus–doesn’t meet the prerequisites, or something. Nobody seems to care, though–except millions of those online who managed to find a few individual citizens who filed lawsuits, or one thing or another, to attract the attention of the scotus. Guess what? They don’t give a big rat’s @$$ about this, either. Seems like that whole thing is beginning to wind down now.

Then, today, the present potus decided to bailout the auto industry–don’t ask me how much this time–I can’t count that high anyway. To hell with the legislature, I guess he (George)  thought, he’d just go ahead and do it himself. Saw him on TV being interviewed yesterday–mumbled something about not wanting to leave the new potus with a big mess. ThankYa, Geoge.

(Just what the hell any of the above has to do with government in the first place is a mystery to me–none of that bs, and much, much more, is a function of government in a Republic in any way, shape or form–maybe unders marxism, communism, etc.)

It’s not just all the stuff above–it’s the little stuff, too.
Today, I also saw a new ALMAR just published. Not long ago, there was some new congressional/or something directive allowing Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines to render the hand salute in cases where they (we) previously were not allowed to do so. The new ALMAR in part clarified, interpreted and precluded that Marines would still not salute uncovered, not in uniform, etc. I’m sure you’ve all seen this, so I won’t go into this in detail.

Reminds me of some of the fiascos of years gone by–there was the 1960 new enlisted rank structure that brought us the added E8/E9 (super-sergeant) paygrades. Or the 1966 enlisted/temporary occifer program.

Forgive me if I’m just a tad off on some of the specifics of the above–this e-mail is just thepeutic, ya understand, not really trying to be all that pc right now.

Anyway, I’m beginning to feel better already–think I’ll just finish this e-mail up, print it up, then go get another Southern Comfort Egg Nog, come back and burn this e-mail in the ash tray–some of you will remember ashtrays, they were little things….never mind.

For those of you who disagree with all or part of my comments above–don’t bother to respond/reply–just send the e-mail to yerself, then delete/spam it, then have one of yer favorite drinks and think things over.

Ahhhh…..feel great.
