National Level Exercise 2009 (NLE 09) is scheduled for July 27 through July 31, 2009. NLE 09 will be the first major exercise conducted by the United States government that will focus exclusively on terrorism prevention and protection, as opposed to incident response and recovery.

NLE 09 is designated as a Tier I National Level Exercise. Tier I exercises (formerly known as the Top Officials exercise series or TOPOFF) are conducted annually in accordance with the National Exercise Program (NEP), which serves as the nation’s overarching exercise program for planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating national level exercises. The NEP was established to provide the U.S. government, at all levels, exercise opportunities to prepare for catastrophic crises ranging from terrorism to natural disasters.

NLE 09 is a White House directed, Congressionally- mandated exercise that includes the participation of all appropriate federal department and agency senior officials, their deputies, staff and key operational elements.  In addition, broad regional participation of state, tribal, local, and private sector is anticipated.  This year the United States welcomes the participation of Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom in NLE 09.

Like the New Age issue, freemasonry has been a controversial one with a long history. As with the New Age issue, I researched freemasonry from both sides of the subject before I formed an opinion. I know many men who are Masons. I know for a fact that the greatest majority of the millions of men worldwide who are Masons are good, decent people. They do good things, i.e. Shriner’s Hospital, charitable community activities and are of strong faith and belief in God.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Authorities said a New Jersey man awaits extradition on a warrant charging him with inciting his website’s readers to threaten two Connecticut lawmakers and a state ethics office employee.

Connecticut State Capitol Police say 47-year-old Harold “Hal” Turner was taken into custody Wednesday by police in North Bergen. He is scheduled to appear in court there today.

Police said Turner incited his online readers “to take up arms” against Sen. Andrew McDonald and Rep. Michael Lawlor.

When Resident Barack Hussein Obama named one of the most arrogant magistrates on the federal bench as his pick to replace retiring Associate US Supreme Court Justice David Souter, the media jumped on the off-key liberal choir by calling his choice “inspiring” even though the US Supreme Court she wants to join overturned 60% of her rulings. As Obama picked 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals magistrate Sonia Sotomayor on Wed., May 26, he referred to the far left jurist as a “moderate”—not because she made centrist decisions, but simply beccause she was brought to the federal bench by a Republican, George H.W. Bush (whose taste in judges, except for Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, seems to be seasoned with a left-handed salt shaker. Sotomayor served as a former New York City Assistant District Attorney for five years (i.e., a “grunt” lawyer with no decision-making authority or opportunties to advance in the DA’s office) before entering into private practice in New York. With absolutely no judicial experience, Sotomayor should never have been on anyone’s radar screen for a federal judgeship—most certainly not on a Republican’s.

In point of fact, she wasn’t. She was actually on a Democrat’s radar screen during the last year of Bush-41′s single term in office. Just as liberal Republican former New Hampshire Governor//Bush-41 Chief-of-Staff John Sununu picked Souter, liberal New York Democratic Senator Daniel Moynihan was allowed to pick two of seven federal judges in a compromise to keep Bush-41′s judicial appointments from being filibustered. Knowing her pedigree, Moynihan picked Sotomayor to fill the bench on the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Thus, Obama claims that a Republican president picked her is not true. She may, in fact, be the first federal court judge in US history picked by a US Senator and not a President.

And, of course, that’s why Marxist Democrats have fast-tracked her. Sotomayor, like traditional liberals, embraces identity politics which incorporates the principles of categorical representation (minorities are best represented by minority judges). Even more to the liking of the far left, she is an extremely radical judicial activist who has made it clear that in her view “law is made at the appellate level” of the federal judiciary. Sotomayor believes that federal judges have the right, through reinterpretation, to rewrite the laws of the land. In Sotomayor’s view, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights no longer fit the needs of the societal architects of an evolving world.

WASHINGTON – The Hawaiian certification of live birth Barack Obama posted on his campaign website and distributed to select news organizations as proof he was a “natural born citizen” would not be accepted as a “birth certificate” even for some Hawaiian state government eligibility issues, WND has learned.

The investigation follows a Honolulu Star Bulletin column Saturday, which quotes a state Department of Health spokeswoman as saying the state’s current certification of live birth is recognized “as an official birth certificate meeting all federal and other requirements.”

At a family picnic tonight, I heard a story so unsettling and unreal, that I thought it was a joke until confirmed otherwise.

A number of weeks ago, my uncle through marriage took it upon himself in a public place (a local convenience store) to criticize the policies of Barack Obama which was heard by a few patrons.

A little background on my relation: he is a burly man with a creative tongue who, when speaking makes clear his opinions to everyone around him, but does so more to steam and vent than to do ‘anything’ about it. On this particular day in this particular store, Uncle Ted explained to his friend who was with him, as they stood in line to buy a weekday lunch, that he disliked the new president and the socialist policies that he was pushing in Washington. Further, my uncle indicated that he didn’t care if our president was black, yellow or purple, but Obama’s policies convinced him that the president was nothing more than a stupid you-know-what (starting in “n”.)

Weeks later, my uncle arrived at his job early in the morning like he always does, and was called into his boss’s office and berated because of his off-comment. Apparently someone in the store had heard Uncle Ted’s rant, took his license number and thanks to a ID badge that was on my uncle’s person, wrote a note to my uncle’s company detailing what supposedly happened that day.
