Glenn Greenwald passes along a clip of Richard Wolffe discussing his new Barack Obama biography, “Renegade,” on G. Gordon Liddy’s talk show, in an interview that rather quickly dovetails into Liddy’s conspiracy theories about Obama’s citizenship.

LIDDY: You mentioned distractions. One of these distractions right now is these lawsuits that take the position that he is not constitutionally eligible to be president of the United States because he is not a naturally-born citizen. Now, he could clear that up in an instant by producing a genuine birth certificate. And yet he refuses to do it. He says he has one but he won’t do it. What is behind that? Hubris or what? WOLFFE: Well, I’m going to differ with you on this one. This came up during the campaign. A copy of the birth certificate is out there. Anyone can see it. He was born in Hawaii. There are documents from the state of Hawaii that prove it. I don’t know what else you really expect me to do.

Nationwide attention about President Obama’s lack of producing a long-form birth certificate proving his eligibility for office got a boost today when top-rated radio host Rush Limbaugh joked about the subject in comparing Obama to God.

Asking rhetorically what God has in common with Obama, Limbaugh said, “Neither has a birth certificate.”

“How do they differ?” Limbaugh continued. “God does not think he’s Obama. And there’s another difference. Liberals love Obama.”

Limbaugh repeated the punch lines several times throughout his show and noted, “another difference is that Obama gets better press. … Another difference is that God only demands to be worshipped once a week.”

Later, he sprinkled in other differences, including:

God asks for only 10 percent of your money God gives you freedom to live your life as you choose God’s plan to save us is actually written down for you to read ….

EXTRA! EXTRA! Breaking News From Rush Limbaugh’s Radio Program!

I just heard Rush say:

“Obama has one thing in common with God. Do you know what it is?

GOD DOES NOT HAVE A BIRTH CERTIFICATE EITHER.” (emphasis added)

He said again, “Neither Obama or God have a birth certificate.”

Is this not a first from the self-annointed talk-radio “leader”? Is this the first time Rush opened up this topic?

Like thousands of unsung patriots, his name was never on any marquee. There was no parade of black limousines following the hearse to the cemetery and no announcement on the radio or television coverage about his passing. The Oregon legislature didn’t recognize him with some memorial in its chambers like the Oregon Senate did recently for a Democrat leader and someone who taught political science at the University of Oregon for almost 40 years. Per his request there was not even an obituary in the local newspaper and he was buried in a simple pine box in Willamette National Cemetery with a trumpet player from the Oregon Symphony playing Taps. He died in his home with his family by his side.

There is an old saying, “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, you can figure it’s a duck.”

During the 2008 presidential campaign, rumors circulated that Also Known As (AKA) Obama was a Muslim; that he had studied Islam extensively while an Indonesian citizen attending school in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In response to these rumors, AKA’s website fightthesmears posted the following:

“Barack Obama is a committed Christian. He was sworn into the Senate on his family Bible. He has regularly attended church with his wife and daughters for years. But shameful, shadowy attackers have been lying about Barack’s religion, claiming he is a Muslim instead of a committed Christian. When people fabricate stories about someone’s faith to denigrate them politically, that’s an attack on people of all faiths. Make sure everyone you know is aware of this deception.”

Unfortunately, it seems, fightthesmears is the one “fabricat[ing] stories.” The more the American people watch AKA perform, the more convinced they are that AKA is a closet Muslim. A few of the incidents that give indication:
