In an explosive interview by Dr. Laurie Roth on her syndicated West Coast radio show on August 7th, Douglas Hagmann—a respected journalist, director of the Northeast Intelligence Network and longtime private investigator, and Judi McLeod, a prolific journalist and the managing editor of Canada Free Press—the reason for the media blackout about the birth-certificate issue was nothing less than organized Mafia-like dire threats to members of the media issued not only from the heads of major TV and radio stations but also from Federal Communication Commission officials!

Devvy’s Email Alerts: Judge Carter dismisses Orly’s case & my comments…

October 29, 2009 Leave a comment
Judge Carter dismissed Barnett v Obama today. This is one of Dr. Orly Taitz’ cases out in California.

While I haven’t read all of Judge Carter’s ruling yet, WND has provided some of the text:

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=114411

As regular readers of my columns know, I believe the only way to remove Obama (a usurper) is through the Quo Warranto as I wrote in my last column:

http://www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd476.htm

Please allow me to make a few comments about Carter’s ruling this morning:

“The court is troubled by the idea that a third party candidate would not have standing to challenge a major party candidate’s qualifications, while the opposing major party candidate may be able to establish standing because he or she has a better chance of winning the election,” he said.

“He warned, “Defendants’ argument encourages the marginalization of the voice of a third party in what is a dominantly two-party political system and would require the court to pass judgment that plaintiffs are such unlikely candidates that who they are running against would not make a difference.

“This argument also ignores the tremendous effect that a third-party candidate can have on the presidential election. In 2000, many political commentators opined that should Green Party candidate Ralph Nader not have run for presidential office and received less than three percent of the popular vote, Al Gore would have won the election instead of President George W. Bush. Even when third-party candidates themselves may not have a chance of winning, which candidates they compete against can certainly have an effect on the election results,” he said.

“But he also said once Obama was sworn into office on Jan. 20, the question no longer was over a potentially ineligible candidate but of the removal of a sitting president.”

This again goes to who can remove a sitting president. If the individual is constitutionally ineligible (usurper), Quo Warranto. The only other option is impeachment of a legitimate president. Not the Twenty-Fifth Amendment in this case. Just my humble opinion from a thousand hours of reading the research.

Carter goes on:

OREGON, Ohio — A furious Ohio mother says her 7-year-old son, who has had problems with medications, was vaccinated for swine flu at school against her wishes.

Kim Lutheran works as a nurse and says her son, Matthew, has had bad reactions to medicine. So, she says she signed for “no consent” on a vaccination form and then circled her intentions with a black marker to make things clear to the boy’s public school in the Toledo suburb of Oregon.

When the historians finally finish sorting through the appalling decisions that have been made in the past two years, this one will probably be at the top of the heap.

Last fall, as AIG began to realize how screwed it was, it started negotiating with the counterparties to all the credit default swaps it had written. One of the AIG’s goals was to persuade these counterparties-

These sorts of negotiations are exactly what should happen when a company gets in trouble. It goes to its creditors and says, look, we can’t pay you everything, so here’s your choice: Take something, or take your chances in banktuptcy court. (And, in this case, this wouldn’t have been much of a choice, given the standing of CDS holders in the liquidation line).

Fox News helps the U.S. military promote its recruitment drive for civilian employees. The military is looking for “crime scene investigators” to join its ranks. Perhaps FEMA camp guards too? Fox also promotes mental evaluation tests for children run by the military that will “reduce depression”.

FLASHBACK: Army National Guard Advertises for “Internment Specialists [2]

Doubt the government plans to impose martial law and round up dissidents and other malcontents? Well, the Army National Guard is advertising for qualified personnel to work as Corrections Officers and Internment/Resettlement Specialists [3].

“As an Internment/Resettlement Specialist for the Army National Guard, you will ensure the smooth running of military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility, similar to those duties conducted by civilian Corrections Officers,” a classified ad posted on the web states. “This will require you to know proper procedures and military law; and have the ability to think quickly in high-stress situations. Specific duties may include assisting with supervision and management operations; providing facility security; providing custody, control, supervision, and escort; and counseling individual prisoners in rehabilitative programs.”

CNN and the L.A. Times are speculating that Congressman Ron Paul may be about to announce that he will run for President in 2012 following the revelation that the Texan will speak at rallies in two key early caucus states next month.

Paul will visit the key early primary state of South Carolina on Nov. 9 to give a speech on “the future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution” at the University of South Carolina. He then moves on to Iowa, another key early presidential battleground, on Nov. 13 to speak to students at Iowa State University.

President Obama and his top health officials are engaging in a major public relations effort to divert attention away from whether its swine flu vaccine is effective and safe – to whether there is enough of it to go around. And the media, as always, is cooperating fully. This echoes the way media debate was manipulated during the Vietnam and Iraq Wars. Instead of debating whether we should even be fighting those wars, the media debated only whether we were using the correct military strategy.

Average Americans

Contrary to what my title indicates, I probably judge Barack Obama more harshly than most reading this. I don’t think he is just a misguided ideologue or merely a creature of expediency. I believe, practically speaking, that he is an evil man. That is to say, while he is largely ignorant like so many others, he has developed an affinity for evil. He mistakes it for good.

Yet, Obama doesn’t alarm me as much as the average American. To explain why, I’ll present something Roman philosopher and statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero said 2000 years ago when lamenting Julius Caesar’s rise to dictator:

Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and gave him triumphal processions . . . . Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the ‘new, wonderful good society’ which shall now be Rome’s, interpreted to mean ‘more money, more ease, more security, more living fatly at the expense of the industrious.’ Julius was always an ambitious villain, but he is only one man.

Barack Obama is only one man. A bad man, yes, but he is a symptom more than a cause. Without millions of fawning Americans, he would just be a community agitator, preaching Alinsky principles from a soapbox. Of course, he is a symptom that exacerbates the underlying problem, and symptomatic treatment — to ease immediate pain and hardship — is certainly in order. But it is only the worst of physicians who ignore the cancer eating away at the patient.

I usually see about twenty patients in my office, and at least a few patients in the hospital, daily. Over the past several months, my patient load has increased by one third. Almost all of the increase is due to fears about H1N1 influenza.

Patients are coming to the office fearful of “Swine Flu,” with symptoms ranging from a slight sniffle to overt pneumonia. After seeing hundreds of cases of “flu” over the past several months and testing all of those who fit the clinical picture of influenza, I have confirmed only three genuine cases of H1N1. Two of these cases were in physicians and one was in a nurse.

All of the other cases turned out to be allergies, typical viral or bacterial infections, or the seasonal flu. Additionally, all three had mild illness and recovered with symptomatic treatment. The graph below shows the percentage of visits for influenza-like illness reported by the U.S. Outpatient Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network for the week ending October 17, 2009. Note the much higher percentage of visits for
flu-like illnesses this year. (Fig 1)

Well, we can add another dubious decision to the list of sacrifices the Obama Administration has made to alter of international engagement. Today it was announced that the Obama Administration had agreed to cede much U.S. control over the non-profit Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) that regulates and manages the Domain Name System under which Internet Protocol addresses and registration of top-level domains like .org and .com are assigned. According to a story in the Guardian:

The deal, part of a contract negotiated with the US department of commerce, effectively pushes California-based Icann towards a new status as an international body with greater representation from companies and governments around the globe.

Gunny G: A Few Good Men ~ The Damn Few

“You can’t handle the truth. Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because, deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said “thank you” and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand at post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.”

With the passage of the new “hate crimes” bill, this opens up the door for an all out assault on religion and free speech.

I’ve reported several times over the last week that the most popular YouTube channel dedicated to Michael Savage has been repeatedly banned from YouTube over the last few days. Who will be next?

As critics continue to mull over whether President Obama deserved the Nobel Peace Prize, Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite says the U.S. Constitution does not allow him to accept the award without the consent of Congress.

In a letter to Obama delivered on Monday, Brown-Waite, R-Fla., along with Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., and Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, claim the president is obligated under the Constitution to obtain Congress’ approval before he formally accepts the prize.

Article I, Section 9, of the Constitution, the emolument clause, states: “And no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince or foreign state.”

Does eligibility court clerk have ties to Obama ?
WorldNetDaily ^ | October 29, 2009 | Chelsea Schilling

Bloggers are buzzing about a law clerk who purportedly works in the same California court that’s hearing a lawsuit challenging Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president – and his possible ties to a law firm that has defended Obama in other eligibility cases.

A Wikipedia page has been cited by dozens of bloggers after it listed Siddarth Velamoor as one of the newest law clerks for federal Judge David Carter – who is hearing the eligibility case Barnett v. Obama, in the Central District, Southern Division Court in Santa Ana, Calif.

Velamoor is also listed in the Martindale lawyer database as an associate of international law firm Perkins Coie, the same law firm of Robert Bauer – top lawyer for Obama, Obama’s presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee and Obama’s Organizing for America – and the same Washington, D.C., lawyer who defended President Obama in lawsuits challenging his eligibility to be president.

As WND has reported, Federal Election Commission records for “Obama for America” show that the lobby organization has paid Perkins Coie exactly $1,666,397.01 since the 2008 election.

WND has also reported that Bauer sent a letter to plaintiff Gregory Hollister, a retired Air Force colonel, of Hollister v. Soetoro, threatening sanctions if he didn’t withdraw his appeal of the eligibility case that earlier was tossed by a district judge because the issue already had been “twittered.” Bauer also represented Obama and the DNC in Philip Berg’s eligibility lawsuit and various other legal challenges.

Could citizens be sent to FEMA camps today? How do we organize resistance to Obama fraudulent regime sending citizens to FEMA camps?

EXECUTIVE ORDER # 11921 NOW IN USE !!!!!

Saturday, October 24, 2009 3:35 PM
There over 800 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a proclamation and the attorney general’s signature on a warrant to which a list of names is attached. Ask yourself if you really want to be on Ashcroft’s list.

The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a “mass exodus” of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. Rex 84 allowed many military bases to be closed down and to be turned into prisons.

Operation Cable Splicer and Garden Plot are the two sub programs which will be implemented once the Rex 84 program is initiated for its proper purpose. Garden Plot is the program to control the population. Cable Splicer is the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the federal government. FEMA is the executive arm of the coming police state and thus will head up all operations. The Presidential Executive Orders already listed on the Federal Register also are part of the legal framework for this operation.

The camps all have railroad facilities as well as roads leading to and from the detention facilities. Many also have an airport nearby. The majority of the camps can house a population of 20,000 prisoners. Currently, the largest of these facilities is just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The Alaskan facility is a massive mental health facility and can hold approximately 2 million people.

Ben Stein on Barack Obama : We’ve Figured Him Out
American Spectator ^ | 2009 | Ben Stein

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?

Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

They ignored his anti-white writings in his books. They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.

They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student. They ignored his ultra-left record as a “community organizer,” Illinois state legislator, and Senator.

The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.

Zell Miller: Dump 7th Amendment
Maverick Democrat wants to go back to legislatures appointing U.S. senators

© 2004 WorldNetDaily.com Georgia Democratic Sen. Zell Miller is calling for the United States to restore the wishes of its Founding Fathers and empower state legislatures to appoint senators rather than be elected by voters. The retiring Miller, who has garnered attention over the past year with stinging critiques of his Democratic Party, believes rescinding the 17th Amendment would curb the power of special interests in Washington while increasing the power of state governments.

“The individuals are not so much at fault as the rotten and decaying foundation of what is no longer a republic,” Miller said on the Senate floor, according to the Associated Press. “It is the system that stinks. And it’s only going to get worse because that perfect balance our brilliant Founding Fathers put in place in 1787 no longer exists.”

UNITED NATIONS — Red-faced United Nations officials on Monday admitted to a major security lapse after a UN guard helped Kentucky Fried Chicken’s “Colonel Sanders” gain access to restricted areas.

The guard escorted the white-suited intruder past security barriers, where he got a handshake from the UN General Assembly president, Dr. Ali A. Treki of Libya.

The faux fast food chain founder also posed for a picture beneath the assembly’s giant UN logo, which overlooks the spot where world leaders address their international counterparts.

“It should not have happened — that I will stress, and very strongly,” said Michele Montas, spokeswoman for UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

“There was some lapse in security and the individual in question . . . was, on the initiative of one security guard, taken . . . into the UN.”

The real Harland “Colonel” Sanders typically wore a white suit and string bow tie, but he has been dead since 1980.

Obama redefines White House relationship with top field commander

President Obama does not have the one-on-one relationship with Gen. McChrystal that President Bush did with Gen. Petraeus, but rather a more traditional one along the chain of command.

Reporting from Washington – President Obama and his predecessor differ significantly in their approach to America’s wars. They differ at least as much in their relationship with their top battlefield commander.

During the Bush administration, Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, the then-ground commander in Iraq, assumed the role of a trusted advisor who frequently visited the White House or talked to the president by phone.

Appeal filed in Obama eligibility argument
‘Court cannot refuse to hear a case because it prefers not’

WorldNetDaily

A case alleging Congress failed in its constitutional duties by refusing to investigate the eligibility of Barack Obama to be president has been sent on appeal to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

WND previously reported when a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit filed by Charles F. Kerchner Jr. and others against Congress.

Attorney Mario Apuzzo filed the action in January on behalf of Kerchner, Lowell T. Patterson, Darrell James Lenormand and Donald H. Nelson Jr. Named as defendants were Barack Hussein Obama II, the U.S., Congress, the Senate, House of Representatives and former Vice President Dick Cheney along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The case focuses on the alleged failure of Congress to follow the Constitution. That document, the lawsuit states, “provides that Congress must fully qualify the candidate ‘elected’ by the Electoral College Electors.”

The case asserts “when Obama was born his father was a British subject/citizen and Obama himself was the same.”

(Story continues below)

The Constitution provides, the lawsuit says, “If the president-elect shall have failed to qualify, then the vice president elect shall act as president until a president shall have qualified.”

See the movie Obama does not want you to see: Own the DVD that probes this unprecedented presidential eligibility mystery!

“There existed significant public doubt and grievances from plaintiffs and other concerned Americans regarding Obama’s eligibility to be president and defendants had the sworn duty to protect and preserve the Constitution and specifically under the 20th Amendment, Section 3, a Constitutional obligation to confirm whether Obama, once the electors elected him, was qualified,” the case explained.

The attorney now has posted online a notice of his appeal to the 3rd Circuit in Philadelphia.

“Through his dismissal, Judge Simandle avoided having to reach the merits of the question of whether Obama is an Article II ‘natural born citizen’ and eligible for the office of president and commander in chief,” Apuzzo said.

Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution tells us that “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” In the history of the United States there have been only three Presidential impeachment proceedings:

Following the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, his successor, Andrew Johnson, served some two years, seven months, and six days before the first articles of impeachment were lodged against him.

Richard Nixon served four years, three months, and ten days before the Washington Post published a report tying the Watergate burglars to his 1972 reelection campaign. There were immediate calls for his impeachment.

The New World Order is “Communism”

September 11, 2009
karl-marx-MED.jpg

by Henry Makow, Ph.D.

(This incorporates, revises and updates the essential “Central Bankers Seek Totalitarian Power” from Nov. 2003.)

Most people think Communism is an ideology dedicated to public ownership and championing workers and the poor. This was a simple but incredibly successful ruse which duped hundreds of millions. The ideology appealed to people who want something for nothing- rather a large segment.

Communism is a form of monopoly capitalism with the State fronting for the monopoly capitalists. It’s no different from the West where the State fronts for monopoly capital, except in Communism the State is more totalitarian and more intrusive. This is what we can look forward to.

East or West, Communism is devoted to concentrating all wealth and power in the hands of the central banking cartel (the Rothschilds and their allies) by disguising it as State power. (The State is run by witting & unwitting agents of the Rothschilds. When the USSR dissolved, the national wealth was divided between mostly Jewish “oligarchs” who were fronts for the Rothschilds.)

Any ideology that further concentrates wealth and power in the hands of the “State” is Communism in another guise. These ideologies — socialism, liberalism, fascism, neo-conservatism, zionism and feminism — are fronts for “Communism,” and are organized and funded by the central banking cartel.

The Balance between Power and Freedom
By Daniel Greenfield
imagePower and freedom are both quantities that can only co-exist at the individual level. Power at the institutional level is inimical to individual freedom, because power at the institutional level is most commonly represented in the form of control. Some control is of course necessary, it is why government exists as a necessary evil. It is why we must have courts and police officers, armies, inspectors and assorted other functional arms of the system. But that necessary evil is a balance between freedom and authority. And at the point where the necessary evil becomes an unnecessary evil, the balance tilts toward tyranny.

Did Schwarzenegger drop 4-letter bomb in veto? (Yes)
San Francisco Gate ^ | October 27, 2009 | Phillip Matier,Andrew Ross, Chronicle Columnists

Posted on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 7:25:17 AM by tlb

SACRAMENTO — Did Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office use a coded veto message to send the f-bomb to Tom Ammiano, soon after the San Francisco assemblyman made news by telling the governor to “kiss my gay ass”?

Schwarzenegger’s people say no. But the X-rated evidence is hard to miss in a message that Schwarzenegger sent to explain why he was vetoing an Ammiano bill dealing with financing for the Port of San Francisco.

A straight reading of the guv’s letter laments “the fact that major issues are overlooked while many unnecessary bills come to me for consideration,” and concludes, “I believe it is unnecessary to sign this measure at this time.”

But a vertical read of the far-left-hand letters in each of the missive’s eight lines offers a more blunt explanation: “I f- you.”

Schwarzenegger’s press secretary, Aaron McLear, insisted Tuesday it was simply a “weird coincidence.”

Obama: A Man Apart (Or titled “a basketball player who has been asked to bat”
human events ^ | 10/28/09 | Herbert London

Albert Camus was expert at describing a man apart, an existential man The Stranger, who didn’t belong in the society in which he found himself. He didn’t have emotional roots; in fact, this character was haunted by shadows — the real and the metaphorical. He is the quintessential rebel challenging normative standards.

At the risk of drawing literary comparisons, I am persuaded based on his performance that President Obama is a man apart. He seems to equate power with arrogance; pride with willfulness and exceptionalism with dominance. As a consequence, he has changed foreign policy perceptions. The America he leads is a nation like any other — no more, no less. In fact, as a Nobel laureate, he is considered by the Europeans as a man of the world, not merely a citizen of the United States.

When asked if the United States is exceptional, President Obama said America is exceptional and England is exceptional and Greece is exceptional. That the United States is sui generis didn’t cross his mind. How could it? He is pledged to a scenario in which America opts out of its traditional role as peace keeper, the balance wheel in maintaining international equilibrium. The war against terrorists is over along with the nation’s hegemonic role.

Afghanistan isn’t completely hopeless, just useless. It’! s a strategic joke with a bloody punch line.

Even if everything went perfectly in Afghanistan — which it won’t — the results would be virtually meaningless: Our mortal enemies (above all, al Qaeda) have dug in elsewhere, from Pakistan to Somalia.

Now we are warned that, unless we send another 40,000 US troops to convince Afghans we’re their friends, unspecified woes will fall upon us like biblical plagues.

Apart from the curious notion that sending more Infantrymen is the way to win hearts and minds, the hearts and minds of Afghans not only can’t be won, but aren’t worth winning.

Narcissistic Rage in the White House

By James Lewis

SEE ALSO:

The term “narcissistic rage” gets 26,000 citations in Google Scholar. It is a common feature of extreme or pathological narcissism.

While psychiatrists often say they can’t do long-distance diagnosis, it really isn’t that hard if you have a lot of information about a person and can watch how he operates from day to day. Intelligence agencies around the world have psychiatric staffs for exactly that purpose.
While most people are pretty hard to predict, extreme narcissists are comparatively simple. They constantly hunger for ego gratification, they are immature, constantly need to demonstrate their own superiority, often need endless sexual conquests (like Bill Clinton), are manipulative, constant liars, are completely cold about the human beings they harm (like John Edwards), and they deal with frustration by uncontrollable fits of rage.
I think that’s what we saw last week with the White House lashing out at Fox News.

Just wanted to pass along my thoughts about travel this year and the H1N1 flu… By: Devvy

(Mailing list information, including unsubscription instructions, is located at the end of this message.)
__

The holidays are fast approaching. Hard to believe. Where did this year go? Just wanted to pass along my thoughts about travel this year and the H1N1 flu.

Back in 1993, I traveled from California to Colorado (home at the time).  Of course, this involves eating in restaurants and sleeping in hotels. By the time I got to the Denver metro area, I was very, very sick. Bottom line, I had the Beijing flu. I refused the shot and pills. Eight days later after treating myself, I was fine and haven’t had the flu since. Almost 16 years.

I will be traveling to No. California to see my family for Thanksgiving. Driving as usual because I don’t fly commercial airlines. Back in July, I made my hotel reservation at a large Indian Casino about 5 miles from my parents home. Why? Location and rates same as Comfort Inn. Their rooms are large, and beautifully decorated. The Comfort Inn is 15 miles down the hill from mom’s; the casino is five.

However, a few weeks ago, I started thinking about big crowds and this flu virus.  While I don’t gamble there, the hotel is always mobbed with people. You have to cross the large gambling area to the stairs or elevator to the second floor to register. I decided I just didn’t want to be in that environment. While it’s extra time and miles, I booked at the Comfort Inn. It’s a large, really nice hotel. Walk in the lobby, the elevator is right there and you’re in your room. Refer and microwave.

My parents are 83 & 84. Any kind of flu or cold could be fatal because both of them have health problems (especially my step father) which means compromised immune systems. Best for me to take the long road than endanger them. Or, getting there sick and having to drive all the way home without seeing my mommy.

I also learned to travel with my flannel blankey. It fits into a medium rag bag. Hotels (I don’t know about the swanky ones because I can’t afford to stay at them) do not wash blankets on the beds between customer stays. Sheets, yes. Blankets, no.

You may not have noticed that the Obama Administration, in addition to trying to seize control of the health care and energy sectors, is implementing a national “broadband plan” to redefine the media and transform America’s system of government. It’s designed, they say, to provide “open government and civic engagement.” But it looks increasingly like an excuse for the federal government to control the Internet and access to information and even tell us what is truth.

Norman Ornstein of the American Enterprise Institute recently explained at a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) “National Broadband Plan Workshop” that it is necessary to have “a common space with shared facts.” Armed with $7.2 billion of “stimulus” money, the federal government is going to provide this. It looks like various progressive groups are lining up at the public trough for their share of the loot. They have in mind what the George Soros-funded Free Press calls “an alternative media infrastructure.”

If you think we already have that, with public TV and radio, think again. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which has received $8 billion in federal tax dollars since it was created in 1967, is not considered radical enough by these folks. The Free Press favors an additional $50 billion “Public Media Trust fund” financed by a tax on home electronic devices. It also wants the federally-funded AmeriCorps to finance jobs for journalists.

A new national broadband plan, combined with the just-announced FCC plan for “net neutrality,” or regulating access to the Internet, provides the opportunity for the federal government to define a “new public square” with a “common space with shared facts,” as Ornstein put it at the August 6 FCC event. He explained, “It’s something that was easier when we had three broadcast channels and virtually everybody in the society tuned into them.”

I was cruising the radio dial one day and I ran into this guy called Glenn Beck and his assistant, Stu who had been given an assignment to follow presidential candidate Barack Obama around and report back to Glenn. The dialogue taking place this particular day found Stu following B.O. into the bathroom. He noticed him going into the stall, sitting down and “Wow,” absolutely euphoric Stu said, “This guy doesn’t even leave a stink.” I told my husband about it later and said maybe I should write an article. My wise husband of 54 years said it sounded like satire to him and Glenn Beck sounded like a jokester. Taking his wise counsel, I decided maybe I’d better not go out on a limb; however, after that encounter I became a regular radio listener and I, too, became impressed with Glenn Beck on the radio and when he was hired by FOX, I became a regular listener like so many of his followers and he’s to be commended for his leadership with the widely successful Tea Party and 9/12 movements. People are waking up. I bought about a dozen Common Sense books and gave them away.

However, some of my long-time astute networking research friends suggested I be “beware” of Beck and then about a month ago he praised Edward R. Murrow as being a terrific journalist for “exposing” Senator Joe McCarthy (R-Wisconsin) when McCarthy began accusing many in our government as being either communist sympathizers or outright communists. McCarthy died under suspicious circumstances at a government hospital in 1957 and many books and articles since have been written saying “McCarthy was right.” I talked to several other older friends from the McCarthy/Murrow era that love Glenn and his remark about Murrow went right over their heads. So, I wonder, how many other heads did it go over? Did I hear wrong? Certainly his remark wasn’t some sort of sick satire, or was it?

David Horowitz, a former Communist, said in his 1997 book, Radical Son, McCarthy was a latecomer to the anti-Communist crusade, which had begun in the early thirties when the rise of Hitler and Stalin first made the totalitarian threat real. The House Committee on Un-American Activities had already been created, and Congressional investigations launched. It was not until June 29, 1950, four days after the Communists invaded South Korea that McCarthy seized the national stage. In a series of famous speeches, he turned anti-communism into a weapon against the Democrats who had allowed that Party to infiltrate both its coalitions and the government itself. The liberals failed to appreciate the Communist threat. Most journalists are registered Democrats.

Who Hates Glenn Beck?

Who Hates Glenn Beck?
The American Conservative ^ | 10/23/09 | Jack Hunter

Posted on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 4:00:00 PM by nickcarraway

His talk-radio brethren have less of a problem with his histrionics than with his evolving libertarianism

Warning that popular talk radio and Fox News host Glenn Beck was “Harmful to the Conservative Movement,” Peter Wehner wrote on Commentary’s “Contentions” blog in September: “he seems to be more of a populist and libertarian than a conservative, more of a Perotista than a Reaganite. His interest in conspiracy theories is disquieting, as is his admiration for Ron Paul and his charges of American ‘imperialism.’ (He is now talking about pulling troops out of Afghanistan, South Korea, Germany, and elsewhere.)”

Wehner is not alone in his criticism. When Beck told CBS News’ Katie Couric, “John McCain would have been worse for the country than Barack Obama,” fellow radio talker and New York Times bestselling author Mark Levin fired back: “to say that he would be worse than a president who’s a Marxist, who’s running around the world apologizing for our nation, who’s slashing our defense budget … to say he would be worse is mindless … incoherent, as a matter of fact.”

Beck has been criticized from both Left and Right for his melodramatic, sometimes conspiracy-minded, intermittently bizarre style. But his conservative critics seem most offended not by Beck’s manner but by his deviationism. He won’t stick to the ideological script.

Conservative radio and TV punditry has a strict set of ground rules. Whatever Democrats are up to is bad; Republicans aren’t perfect, but they are worth cheering for and at least deserve the benefit of the doubt. Rush Limbaugh’s occasional guest host Michael Medved reflected talk-radio orthodoxy perfectly when he said, “For those Americans who want to fight back against the menacing expansion of government and the insanely irresponsible spending of the Obama administration, there is only one way to succeed: electing more Republicans to high office.” But as Marc Ambinder at The Atlantic notes, Beck is an exception: “Beck claims to be non-partisan. Conservative, yes, but disdainful of the GOP, with no vested interest in seeing Republicans return to power.” During the George W. Bush years, Beck’s politics were less differentiated from those of other radio talkers. He deferred to the Bush administration, promoted militarism as patriotism, and called the day’s news along partisan lines. When Ron Paul received national attention for questioning America’s interventionist foreign policy during a 2007 GOP presidential primary debate, Beck called Paul “crazy” and asked, “how did this guy get on stage?” At the time there were no complaints about Beck from the likes of Wehner and Levin — because Beck sounded much like them.

The government is being encouraged to prepare to block websites and Internet traffic in the event of a worsening swine flu pandemic that results in network congestion, a move that represents a potential end run around the agenda to regulate the world wide web.

A report by the General Accountability Office warns that a severe pandemic, or a worsening of the H1N1 outbreak, could result in 40 percent absentee rates at work and school, meaning that the Internet would be overloaded with people working from home as well as bored children sucking up bandwidth via online gaming.

Securities exchanges already have back-up systems to cope with such a scenario but the same cannot be said for general commerce, warns the report, adding that the federal government, specifically Homeland Security, should be given the power to block certain websites and regulate Internet traffic.

“Private Internet providers might need government authorization to block popular websites, the report states, or to reduce residential transmission speeds to make way for commerce,” according to a Reuters article [2].

MINNEAPOLIS – There was concern at the White House about that wayward Northwest Airlines jet that flew past its scheduled destination in Minneapolis.

White House spokesman Nick Shapiro told The Associated Press on Saturday that senior White House officials were alerted by the White House Situation Room and they closely monitored the incident.

Shapiro didn’t say if President Barack Obama was informed about the wayward plane. Story continues below ↓advertisement | your ad here

Northwest Flight 118 was out of communications with air traffic controllers for over an hour Wednesday night. The plane carrying 144 passengers and five crew members was destined for Minneapolis but overflew the airport by about 150 miles before controllers were able to re-establish contact.

‘Nobody feel asleep’ The Northwest pilots insist a clandestine snooze isn’t to blame for their goof at 37,000 feet. “Nobody fell asleep in the cockpit,” first officer Richard I. Cole said.

I record Special Report on Fox News every day. One day I noticed that there was a change in the preceding show. Neil Cavuto had been transferred to the new Fox News Business channel and some guy named Glenn Beck had taken over the slot. Nothing resonated with me so I didn’t bother to watch his show.

I soon heard that Beck had broken the story of Van Jones, a guy who should not have been in any administration, let alone a presidential one. Then Beck got credit for showing the Acorn videos that began the cascade of charges and loss of support for that organization. The Obama Administration responded to this by making Beck Public Enemy #1, along with the rest of Fox News.

Wikipedia banned me from editing political articles because I added true info about Obama

I have been a registered editor at wikipedia for about two and a half years.

The following restriction was just placed on me:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/IncidentArchive572#Grundle2600:_continued_problems

“Grundle2600 is subject to an indefinite topic ban – he is prohibited from editing any pages relating to US politics or politicians. The ban will be enforced by escalating blocks.”

As a so-called justification for this restriction, the following contributions by me to wikipedia were cited:

“On April 20, 2009, Obama convened his Cabinet for the first time, and ordered them to reduce the $3.5 trillion federal budget by $100 million.” Source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/19/AR2009041902009.html

“In February 2009, U.S. Senator Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia) expressed concern that Obama’s czars might violate the U.S. Constitution, because they were not approved by the U.S. Senate.” Source: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/19303.html “U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin) expressed a similar concern in September 2009.” Source: http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/59071-feingold-questions-obama-czars

Which outrage will get us the Supreme Court 10th Amend test case we need to defeat Obama’s plot?
The Collins Report ^ | October 27, 2009 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 9:05:45 AM by jmaroneps37

The Tenth Amendment showdown is coming. A Supreme Court test case on the power of the Tenth Amendment is coming.

There are several possibilities, but here’s my list.

Homeland Security has withdrawn the authority to round up illegals from Maricopa Arizona County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Arpaio won’t back down rightly claiming he works for Maricopa County not the federal government.

Gun control laws

When the USSC invalidated the handgun laws of the District of Columbia, Chicago passed an even more restrictive law and dared Second Amendment supporters to challenge it, and the NRA has.

When Chicago loses it will create a power vacuum in states. Conservative states’ governments won’t stand for the new restrictive laws certain to be passed by their liberal controlled cities like Dallas, Houston, New Orleans in response to Chicago’s defeat. Those laws will be supported by Obama’s Justice Department and will bring about a 10th Amendment test case on gun control laws.

Overreaching EPA

The Federal EPA is choking off water from the farms in California’s San Joaquin Valley to save a fish. California might not bring a 10th Amendment case to fight this outrage, but it’s very possible the state of Florida will defeat the federal government’s edict to stop sport fishing in the Gulf of Mexico by using the 10th Amendment.

Obama’s sellout to the UN on “Climate change”

Kerry and Boxer will roll approval of a treaty with the UN to force America to “pay” for our supposed “climate change crimes against humanity” into a new Cap and Trade package in an effort to sneak it into law. A 10th Amendment case against this from Texas and/or other states wouldn’t be surprising.

What do you think it will be? Write me at kcoachc@gmail.com let’s decide what to push for our test case.

The JFK Assassination: New York Times Acknowledges CIA Deceptions

Prof. Peter Dale Scott
Global Research [1]
Thursday, Oct 22nd, 2009

The New York Times, on October 17, published a page-one story by Scott Shane about the CIA’s defiance of a court order to release documents pertaining to the John F. Kennedy assassination, in its so-called Joannides file. George Joannides was the CIA case officer for a Cuban exile group that made headlines in 1963 by its public engagements with Lee Harvey Oswald, just a few weeks before Oswald allegedly killed Kennedy. For over six years a former Washington Post reporter, Jefferson Morley, has been suing the CIA for the release of these documents. [1]

Sometimes the way that a news item is reported can be more newsworthy than the item itself. A notorious example was the 1971 publication of the Pentagon Papers (documents far too detailed for most people to read) on the front page of the New York Times.

Some Christians have been startled by this (and the video is wildly popular) and believe that the evidence is compelling. The video is found here.

By Devvy: The usurper in the White House issued a declaration of emergency yesterday over the alleged H1N1 “pandemic.”

The usurper in the White House issued a declaration of emergency yesterday over the alleged H1N1 “pandemic.”

No doubt people are dying from the flu and if you’ve done enough research, it is sadly and tragically those with compromised immune systems and severe health problems who are dying. We’ve all seen how the media manipulates the number of people who allegedly die from H1N1 with words like “probably” “might” “could have been H1N1″ when describing those sick or who have died.

Thousands of Americans die every year from ‘seasonal flu.’ We all wish it could be different, but with so many Americans in poor health, who don’t research natural treatments and opt for deadly pharma cocktails, the trend will continue.

Should we be worried about martial law over Obama/Soetoro’s declaration? There are people out there whipping the fear factor for sensational head lines on the Internet. There are individuals out there sending out email that is dangerous and unnecessary: Martial law is coming – resist – fight – fire.

This plays right into the hands of the shadow government that is just itching for an excuse to ‘crack down’ on we the people. Without question, the situation here in America, from the economic melt down to the attacks daily on every level of our lives, is grim and things will get much worse over the next year.

It’s hard to envision — or, for the dwindling few, to remember — what the world looked like on Oct. 26, 1942, when a few thousand U.S. Marines stood essentially stranded on the God-forsaken jungle island of Guadalcanal, placed like a speed bump at the end of the long blue-water slot between New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago, the most likely route for the Japanese Navy to take if they hoped to reach Australia.

On Guadalcanal, the Marines struggled to complete an airfield. Japanese Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto knew what that meant. No effort would be spared to dislodge these upstart Yanks. Before long, relentless Japanese counterattacks had driven supporting U.S. Navy vessels from inshore waters. The Marines were on their own.

President Obama announced today that he has a declared a “national emergency” over the H1N1 virus, a phrase with an ominous sound, but with little explanation offered by the mainstream media.

The Associated Press, for example, merely stated that the declaration removes “bureaucratic roadblocks” and enables officials to “bypass federal rules.” Other news outlets were even vaguer, saying the declaration waived federal requirements, but not saying what those requirements govern.

In the void of information, Internet rumors were quick to flame, centering on concerns over how the Obama administration might use the declared emergency to suddenly expand government power.

US President Barack Obama has declared swine flu a national emergency.

The White House said the president signed the proclamation concerning the 2009 H1N1 outbreak on Friday evening.

It increases the ability of treatment facilities to handle a surge in H1N1 patients by easing the implementation of emergency plans.

Last week US officials said swine flu activity was widespread in 46 states. More that 1,000 deaths have been linked to the virus.

Obama’s Fox News Offensive: Has it Worked? Fox News is Labeled as Wing of the Republican Party. Critics Say Fox News is Changing Its Ways

By PATRIK JONSSON

Oct. 24, 2009

Has the Obama administration’s broadside against Fox News – claiming that it is not a news organization – chastened the network in the slightest?

The behavior of Fox News personalities would suggest not. Glenn Beck has likened the administration’s attacks to Richard Nixon’s infamous “enemies list.”

Yet critics of Fox News claim at least one victory. After teasing coverage of Oct. 17 Tea Party protests, Fox didn’t cover the events on TV, instead relegating coverage to its website.

As I predicted—though I was unsure whether it would be the H1N1 virus or the collapse of the dollar—the Communist Puppet would use something to cement his total control over every aspect of our lives.

From the day he took office, Obama and his puppet masters have been building a shadow Government with all power vested in them. The Czars he has appointed, who were not vetted and approved by Congress nor elected, now have the authority to control every aspect of American commerce.

I challenge you to look at the Executive Orders that have been signed over the last 30 years and are still in place. Also carefully read the provisions of the Violent Crime Control Act. They are listed here America In Peril and I include a partial list below.

You will see that with the Executive Orders already in place, combined with the provisions of the Violent Crime Control Act, with the stroke of a pen Obama can suspend the Constitution, the Judiciary, Elections and in effect declare himself president for life.

No ‘conspiracy theory,’ scheme hatched

WorldNetDaily

NEW YORK – The integration of the United States with Canada and Mexico, long deemed by many as little more than a fanciful “conspiracy theory,” was actually an idea promoted by the Council on Foreign Relations and sold to President Bush as a means of increasing commerce and business interests throughout North America, according to a top Canadian businessman.

Thomas d’Aquino, CEO and president of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives – the Canadian counterpart to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – confirmed in an interview recently published in Canada the accuracy of what WND first reported over three years ago: namely, that the Council on Foreign Relations was the prime mover in establishing the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP.

Published by the Metropolitan Corporate Counsel Oct. 4, the d’Aquino interview verifies that the creation of the SPP was not a “conspiracy theory” but a well-thought-out North American integration plan launched by his organization, the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, along with the Council on Foreign Relations in the United States.

(Story continues below)

According to d’Aquino, President Obama wants to continue North American integration under the renamed North American Leaders Summit, provided the North American Competitiveness Council can be recast to include more environmentalists and union leaders.

Obama’s H1N1 Emergency Declaration: Is Martial Law Unfolding?

Obama has declared a 2009 H1N1 swine flu a national emergency [2]. It is not clear if this declaration falls under the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601–1651). The act is not mentioned in media reports.

The National Emergencies Act was passed in 1976. It has been extended six times. In 2007, the declaration was strengthened with the issuance of National Security Presidential Directive 51 (NSPD-51) which gave the president the authority to do whatever he deems necessary in a vaguely defined “catastrophic emergency” including everything from canceling elections to suspending the Constitution.

NSPD-51 (National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive) is unconstitutional. It was created on May 4, 2007, as a “presidential directive” (bypassing Congress) and signed by George W. Bush. It claims the power to execute procedures for continuity of the federal government in the event of a “catastrophic emergency.” Such an emergency is construed as “any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions.”

In other words, it is a martial law directive. On May 10, 2007, The Washington Post [3] characterized NSPD-51 is a “shadow government” directive.

The Best Brewery In America?
Seattle PI ^ | 10/21/09 | Steve Body

In the surprisingly small world of big-league craft brewing, there are some names – young as the community is – that carry a little magic in them: Port Brewing of San Marcos, CA…Three Floyds Brewing of Munster, Indiana…Victory Brewing of Downington, PA…Stone Brewing of Escondido, California…Russian River…North Coast…Dogfish Head…Founder’s…Surly… Firestone-Walker…Goose Island…and the list goes on and on. They’re everywhere – literally. Allagash, in Maine, is perhaps America’s best brewer of Belgian-style ales. Ommegang, in Cooperstown, New York, is the leading innovator of Belgian ales given a left-handed American spin. Great Divide, in downtown Denver, is world-famous for it’s high-octane, hop-crazy style. AleSmith, in San Diego, scores consistent 90-point+ ratings on practically all it’s beers. Even in my own home state of North Carolina – which had TWO craft breweries when I left in 1992 – there’s Duck Rabbit Brewing, which is quickly building a national-grade reputation.

Over the past ten+ years, I’ve made an effort to taste as many beers from as many of these brewers as I possibly could; sometimes going to great lengths to get to places where those not distributed in Seattle could be found. On a trip back to Washington, DC/Virginia/North Carolina, I finally got to taste the Three Floyds ales, which more than lived up to the hype. Some have come to me: Russian River, Bear Republic, Port Brewing, and Firestone-Walker have all recently signed on with Seattle distributors. And my last trip to Denver was nothing less than revelatory: Breckenridge, Great Divide, Boulder Brewing, Left Hand, Avery, Del Norte, Twisted Pine, Oskar Blues and Wynkoop all got me for a short while. California brewers you can’t find here, like Green Flash, were on tap in Denver’s pubs.

Armed officers in full battle gear will be scattered throughout the Bay Area this weekend, rescuing hostages, fighting bank robbers and quelling terrorism at the Oakland Airport, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, the NASA Ames Research Center and 22 other high profile sites.

There will be the sound of gunfire and blasts — all part of Urban Shield, one of the biggest domestic terrorism drills in the country. For the first time in the three-year history of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department-sponsored exercise, there will be a foreign team of officers taking part and international observers. An eight-member team representing the French National Police’s Research, Assistance, Intervention, and Dissuasion unit will compete.

The only purpose of this column is to bring forth some of the complicated legal issues swirling around the citizenship cases so hopefully, all of us laymen and women can have a better understanding. Not to play favorites of one attorney over another because I respect Orly, Leo and Mario and am trying to do my part in helping when I can.

Kerchner et al v Obama was dismissed two days ago. Mario Apuzzo explains here: Court Dismisses Kerchner Complaint/Petition for Lack of Standing and Political Question. The Decision Will Be Appealed.

Earlier this year, I interviewed Mario and his client, Charles Kerchner. I greatly admire these men for their intelligence, convictions and dedication to the truth. On Mario’s site, you can read the links to the judge’s decision; click here. Once again, it is standing and also the judge noted (page 10) any injury regarding a possible recall for military service in an extreme emergency is “neither actual nor eminent, but is rather impermissible conjectural.”

Please note at the bottom of page one where the court states plaintiffs have filed the lawsuit in an effort to show there was absolutely no scrutiny whatsoever in making sure Obama was constitutionally eligible and to remove him from office. I bring this up for a reason. There is another case I have mentioned in other columns that is germane to this issue: Judicial Watch’s lawsuit to remove another usurper: Hillary Clinton. That case was filed January 29, 2009; oral arguments were heard September 14, 2009, in front of a three judge panel out there in DC.

We are always going to look like evil, capitalist pigs and nothing we can do will ever change their hearts, minds or feelings about conservatism. Architects of a strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis

Architects of a strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis

I’m in NY where I’ll be headed to the Fox studios in a few hours to tape the “Glenn Beck Show.” The segment I’m doing will be aired Thursday as part of a week-long series called “The New Republic,” which is Glenn’s look at the radical agendas of the Obama Administration. Last night, with Pat Caddell as his guest, Glenn made the connection between the trillion-dollar defcits Obama is deliberately running up and the Cloward-Piven strategy devised by two Columbia radicals to bankrupt the welfare system in New York in order to create a crisis that would generate radical change.

Although the show failed to mention it, this was a strategy first identified in a book I wrote a couple of years ago with Richard Poe called The Shadow Party. That book described the coalition of Communist and anarchist radicals, Democratic Party honchos, and multi-billionaires that the malevolent George Soros put together before the 2004 presidential campaign. The Shadow Party is now the party in power and running the show.

America’s Obama Obsession – Anatomy of a passing hysteria.
National Review ^ | 10-23-09 | Victor Davis Hanson – Commentary

America’s Obama Obsession
Anatomy of a passing hysteria.

By Victor Davis Hanson

For 30 months the nation has been in the grip of a certain Obama obsession, immune to countervailing facts, unwilling to face reality, and loath to break the spell. But like all trances, the fit is passing, and we the patient are beginning to appreciate how the stupor came upon us, why it lifted, and what its consequences have been.

HOW OBAMA WON
Barack Obama was elected rather easily because, in perfect-storm fashion, five separate trends coalesced last autumn.

1) Obama was eloquent, young, charismatic — and African-American. He thus offered voters a sense of personal and collective redemption, as well as appealing to the longing for another JFK New Frontier figure. An image, not necessarily reality, trumped all.

2) After the normal weariness with eight years of an incumbent party and the particular unhappiness with Bush, the public was amenable to an antithesis. Bush was to be scapegoat, and Obama the beginning of the catharsis.

3) Obama ran as both a Clintonite centrist and a no-red-state/no-blue-state healer who had transcended bitter partisanship. That assurance allowed voters to believe that his occasional talk of big change was more cosmetic than radical.

4) John McCain ran a weak campaign that neither energized his base nor appealed to crossover independents. McCain turned off conservatives; many failed to give money, and some even stayed home on election day. Meanwhile, the media and centrists who used to idolize McCain’s non-conservative, maverick status found Obama the more endearing non-conservative maverick.

5) The September 2008 financial panic turned voters off Wall Street and the wealthy, and allowed them to connect unemployment and their depleted home equity and 401(k) retirement plans with incumbent Republicans. In contrast, they assumed that Obama, as the anti-Bush, would not do more bailouts, more stimuli, and more big borrowing.

Take away any one of those factors, and Obama might well have lost. Imagine what might have happened had Obama been a dreary old white guy like John Kerry; or had Bush’s approvals been over 50 percent; or had Obama run on the platform he is now governing on; or had McCain crafted a dynamic campaign; or had the panic occurred in January 2009 rather than September 2008. Then the trance would have passed, and Obama, the Chicago community organizer and three-year veteran of the U.S. Senate, would have probably lost his chance at remaking America.

OBAMA’S ASSUMPTIONS
I note all this at length because Obama seems to act as if this right-center country — one that polls oppositely to his positions on most of the major issues (deficits, spending, nationalized health care, homeland security, Guantanamo, cap-and-trade, etc.) — has given him a mandate for a degree of change not seen in nearly 80 years.

Apparently, Team Obama figured that with sizable majorities in both the House and the Senate, Obama would snap his fingers, Congress daily would pass bills redefining America, and Obama would stay in perpetual campaign mode to hope and change the country to accept his agenda. Governing would be like campaigning, as audiences fainted hearing the details of a 1,500-page health-care bill or of ever more sins from America’s past.

But, after just a few months in office, that proved not to be the case. Just as a number of planets had to line up precisely to allow an inexperienced hard-left ideologue to be elected president, so there would have had to be a similar configuration to allow him to govern successfully.

BITTER TRUTHS
1) Obama had to match his unity rhetoric with brotherly action. In fact, he has done the opposite.

At one time or another, Obama and his supporters have, rather scurrilously, insulted doctors, insurers, the police, tea-partiers and town-hallers, opponents of his health-care plan, non-compliant members of the media, and a host of other groups as either greedy, dishonest, treasonous, unpatriotic, moblike, racist, or in general worthy of disrespect.

Fewer and fewer Americans now believe that Obama — after just nine months of governance — is a uniter. In Obama’s world, doctors carve out children’s tonsils for profit, racist morons rant at legislators about losing their private health care, and trillions in borrowed money must be paid back by the greedy rich whose capital was unearned in the first place.

The Death of the House Bill (Even the Original Sponsors of the House Health Bill are Walking Away)
National Review ^ | 10/23/2009 | James Capretta

Posted on Friday, October 23, 2009 11:03:16 AM by SeekAndFind

In July, the president and the Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives argued that the time for analysis and debate was over and that the House should pass its version of health-care reform before the August recess.

Now, just three months later, House Democrats are saying that the bill they were in such a hurry to pass during the summer is old news and irrelevant. What matters now, they assert, is their “new and improved” version of reform, which they promise will be much better and easier to pass. Of course, they aren’t sufficiently confident in its virtues to open it up to public scrutiny just yet. No, they assert the bill will be different even though the legislative plan is clearly going to be just as it was in July. House Democrats are hoping to unveil their updated version of Obamacare as close as possible to a vote, probably in November, so that there is no time for public opposition to stop it.

It might work. But then again, that’s what they tried to do with version 1.0. The original bill was made available on July 14 with the intention of having a vote in the full House on July 31. That strategy failed miserably because it took just a few days for the public to figure out that what House Democrats were pushing represented far more governmental control of health care than the public was comfortable with. Momentum toward passage dwindled.

It seems that our Dear Leader is attempting to brainwash the children with a not so subliminal message of community service in today’s comics. In fact, I counted over 15 comic strips extolling community service in today’s paper. It seems that even with a record drop in his ratings, the Dear Leader still can march the media in lockstep with him.

Is this not creepy that he apparently would ask the media to do this? Is it not even creepier that they would comply?

Women Marines want a chance outside the Afghan wire

Fri Oct 23, 2009 12:00am EDT

By Golnar Motevalli

BARCHA, Afghanistan (Reuters) – U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Tiffany Jones chews tobacco, spitting the juice into the Afghan desert as she talks, and wears her M-16 automatic rifle slung across her chest just like her male colleagues.

Jones wanted to be a sniper but, like many women on active service in the U.S. military, she has never been outside “the wire” — the heavily guarded razor-wire perimeter of her base.

“I don’t think the American public on a whole is ready to hear about females in the military getting blown up and their body parts everywhere,” Jones said.

Still, Jones said she would like to see more women in combat.

In the U.S. Marines, women cannot fight with units engaged in direct combat with the enemy. While they do get some infantry training, they cannot join infantrymen on the front line.

Jones, 20, works in a motor pool at Camp Leatherneck, a sprawling base of thousands of U.S. Marines in southern Helmand province, the heartland of the Taliban-led insurgency.

Her hair is cut about an inch above her collar, according to Marine regulations for women with short hair, and she works with a unit fixing armored vehicles.

She longs to go outside “the wire”, but the rate at which armored vehicles are being ambushed and blown up in a growing insurgency means Jones’s skills are needed more at Leatherneck’s motor pool.

Violence in Afghanistan has reached its worst level this year since the Taliban were overthrown by U.S.-backed Afghan forces in 2001. Casualties have soared since U.S. and British forces launched major offensives in the south mid-year.

Neil Cavuto and Bill O’Reilly in a cat fight over executive pay. Conficto gato or cat fight in Spanish.

Too much. Neil Cavuto from FBN (which if you do not have ….DEMAND IT … tried desperately to explain to Bill O’Reilly, why controlling the pay of even those companies taking bailout money, is just a bad idea. It’s a slippery slope. O’Reilly, at his populist best, scoffs. But there is a turning point about midway through. The money line … Bill, there is no free market. Watch all the way through and he will convince you too.

….We just need to point out that among the many groups supporting net neutrality are the Christian Coalition, the Gun Owners of America, and Brent Bozell’s Parents Television Council. All of them are in on the plot! Everyone’s a Marxist now!
