The New York Times, on October 17, published a page-one story by Scott Shane about the CIA’s defiance of a court order to release documents pertaining to the John F. Kennedy assassination, in its so-called Joannides file. George Joannides was the CIA case officer for a Cuban exile group that made headlines in 1963 by its public engagements with Lee Harvey Oswald, just a few weeks before Oswald allegedly killed Kennedy. For over six years a former Washington Post reporter, Jefferson Morley, has been suing the CIA for the release of these documents. [1]
Sometimes the way that a news item is reported can be more newsworthy than the item itself. A notorious example was the 1971 publication of the Pentagon Papers (documents far too detailed for most people to read) on the front page of the New York Times.

More than one Christian friend has suggested to me, in all seriousness, that President Obama is the Antichrist. I haven’t taken such suggestions too seriously, but recently a video has shown up on Youtube that seems to claim that Jesus identified Obama as the Antichrist. Some Christians have been startled by this (and the video is wildly popular) and believe that the evidence is compelling. The video is found here.

The usurper in the White House issued a declaration of emergency yesterday over the alleged H1N1 “pandemic.”
No doubt people are dying from the flu and if you’ve done enough research, it is sadly and tragically those with compromised immune systems and severe health problems who are dying. We’ve all seen how the media manipulates the number of people who allegedly die from H1N1 with words like “probably” “might” “could have been H1N1″ when describing those sick or who have died.
Thousands of Americans die every year from ‘seasonal flu.’ We all wish it could be different, but with so many Americans in poor health, who don’t research natural treatments and opt for deadly pharma cocktails, the trend will continue.
Should we be worried about martial law over Obama/Soetoro’s declaration? There are people out there whipping the fear factor for sensational head lines on the Internet. There are individuals out there sending out email that is dangerous and unnecessary: Martial law is coming – resist – fight – fire.
This plays right into the hands of the shadow government that is just itching for an excuse to ‘crack down’ on we the people. Without question, the situation here in America, from the economic melt down to the attacks daily on every level of our lives, is grim and things will get much worse over the next year.

In 1942, it came down to one Marine

It’s hard to envision — or, for the dwindling few, to remember — what the world looked like on Oct. 26, 1942, when a few thousand U.S. Marines stood essentially stranded on the God-forsaken jungle island of Guadalcanal, placed like a speed bump at the end of the long blue-water slot between New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago, the most likely route for the Japanese Navy to take if they hoped to reach Australia.
On Guadalcanal, the Marines struggled to complete an airfield. Japanese Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto knew what that meant. No effort would be spared to dislodge these upstart Yanks. Before long, relentless Japanese counterattacks had driven supporting U.S. Navy vessels from inshore waters. The Marines were on their own.
