An insidious brainwashing program set to be launched next week will “organically” weave the government’s political propaganda into prime time network television shows, with positive talking points about Obama’s environmental, bailout, health care and “servitude” agenda being seamlessly integrated into the content of dramas, reality shows and comedies.

Under the auspices of a program run by the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), network TV shows will be used to promote “service and volunteerism” on behalf of the public as part of a “week-long of television programming on all four leading broadcast networks – ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and all affiliated broadcast and cable properties as well, and other networks, beginning October 19.”

According to the EIF press release, “Network shows that will feature volunteerism in some way during the week of Oct 19th,” include the following.

News that Air Force Generals were sacked by the President for recent mishaps, incidents and failures in exercises at nuclear missile batteries hidden across the Western United States has been widely questioned by the Airmen and Airwomen based at these facilities.

It’s time that somebody brought out the truth that the politicians in Washington DC seem desperate to hide’ one NCO reported in a blog sent out yesterday

NCO’s at Minot ND’s Air Base are quick to point out that nothing abnormal, or unexpected has occurred over the past year that could possibly have warranted the removal of these Air Force Generals. ‘If anything our Boss is a great leader and a good example for all junior officers’ the NCO continued.

Career NCO’s form the backbone of the Air Force’s nuclear deterrent. They are professional warriors that are anxious to report and deny the President’s charges that their commanders are anything less than inspirational leaders.

In case you don’t know, after the terror attacks of 9/11/01, there were indeed a few Americans who honestly believed that the federal government was so corrupt that it was behind and responsible for the events of September 11^th. Even though we all watched in shock, as hijacked planes flew into the twin towers, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field, these folks imagined that someone in Washington DC might have blown up those buildings instead.

Not that our federal government isn’t capable of such things, mind you… but they are not likely to pull off such a thing without anyone spilling the beans sooner or later.

These believers were labeled “truthers”—and were often the same folks who claimed to have seen UFOs or even to have been abducted by aliens from outer space at some point in their lives.

Most Americans passed these folks off as crackpots—mentally unstable individuals in need of help, not a seat in congress.

It so happens that 5 years ago the prestigious publication AP knew that Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, II was in fact born in Kenya and therefore not eligible to occupy the Office of the President.

WASHINGTON – While millions of Americans every day continue to see “Where’s the birth certificate?” billboards, the organizer of the effort says he has a much bigger campaign in mind.

As the latest billboard was erected gratis by an outdoor advertising company in Ocala, Fla., Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND said he won’t be happy until all Americans are seeing them every day – in fact, until Barack Obama himself is bumping into them at every turn.

“It should be pretty clear to everyone by now that Obama has no intentions of releasing his birth certificate under any circumstances,” said Farah. “He will also not reveal his travel records, his student records, his medical records – in short he won’t reveal anything meaningful about himself or his history, not even to prove he is constitutionally eligible to serve in office. The man apparently has a lot to hide.”

Farah says there is only one solution – force him to reveal it.

“We have to see these billboards flourish in 2010 and leading up to the 2012 election when Obama will seek re-election,” said Farah. “If he can’t answer that simple question by then, he’s toast. Help me make it so Obama can’t go anywhere in the United States without seeing this sign.”

The White House has gone on the offensive against its critics in the press, singling out Fox News and going so far as to accuse the News Corp.-owned network of waging a “war against Barack Obama”.

Anita Dunn, communications director, has led the charge, appearing on CNN television and conducting interviews with Time magazine and The New York Times in recent days to make her case.

The unusual White House campaign comes as President Obama faces mounting opposition to his health care reforms, growing concern over the situation in Afghanistan and a continuing general economic malaise.

Left or right, we can all agree that our health insurance industry is in serious need of treatment, as we live in a time when a small number of companies make record profits while they cut costs by rejecting the claims of thousands of sick and desperate people.

The obvious question is: What can Americans do to get out of this seemingly self-perpetuating rut? The answer is anything but obvious and might surprise you. To illustrate it, you need look no further than your local beer aisle. Today we can go into any supermarket or liquor store and find dozens upon dozens of brands and styles of beers. Lagers and stouts, darks and lights, no matter what an American wants to pickle his liver, his local booze slinger is going to have a product for him.

There’s a new American flag available on the Internet that has a picture of President Obama in the corner where the stars representing our fifty states normally reside.

Given how our media have assisted in selling Obama paraphernalia since Inauguration Day, one has to wonder what their position will be on the attractive keepsake pictured right.

I have owned many homes/houses over the years–I think all of them had at least one case where the mortgage company sold the mortgage to another company; in fact, in some cases, this was done multiple times. Never, not once, was there anything other than the minor inconvenience to me that they were sending me a new payment booklet so as to keep sending the payments to the new company.

Not anymore!

I just got a letter from the new bank who now has my home mortgage demanding all kinds of information from me–info that the old company already had and likely was transferred over to them. But they demand the info anyway, and, further, threaten to take out new home owner’s insurance if they are not provided their request soon. New Insurance of their choosing and rates charged to me.

Now that the laughter has died down over the Nobel Prize awarded to our empty suited president Barack Obama here’s a look at others who have won or been passed over.

The first fraud that comes to mind is Woodrow Wilson. In 1919 the world got its first look at the twisted perversion of the Nobel Committee when Wilson who had fooled America with his 1916 motto “He kept us out of war” won a Nobel Peace Prize. In 1917 just one month after his second term began he got Congress to declare war on Germany for no discernable reason.

I do believe that ACE Elevator and Securicom, as well as Kroll Associates should be focused on, however, this is important information that has never been confirmed, until now. - These art students were apart of the art group, gelitin, and were pulling off a large stunt in the name of art, at least that is the official story. Gelatin is notorious for encouraging and participating in various stunts and elaborate adventures to push art into the pop culture by performing publicity stunts. The project these art students from Austria and Germany were apart of was called, “The B-Thing.” - I am in the process of uploading all of the photos and information to make available to everyone online, so be looking for that soon. Now, seeing the other tab and patch in the photo, you may ask “what is a three percenter?”  The narrowest definition is that three percenters are hard-line gun owners who are done backing up and will not comply with more infringements of their right to bear arms.   A broader definition would be that they are hard-line Americans who are done backing up and will not comply with further  infringement of any of their rights.  It also alludes to the three percent of the colonists who took to the field against the King during the Revolution, and the estimation that at least three percent of modern Americans will actively fight, if it comes to it, to preserve liberty.  Read this essay for more explanation.

Fridays in Washington are beginning to be a big problem for the rest of us during this administration as members of Congress have now passed two very expensive bills on that day before rushing off for the weekend. The other time was when the Senate passed the stealfromus bill late one Friday evening. If this trend continues Americans might have to change TGIF to TGINF! Like the stealfromus bill this cap and tax bill was passed without a single member of Congress even reading it.

The business model of the mainstream media is rapidly approaching the point at which it will become economically unsustainable. Ads and subscriptions are the primary revenue source for newspapers and magazines. The internet does advertising better and cheaper, both nationally and locally, and subscriptions increasingly make less sense when most publications share the same print content for free on their own websites. Ads are the only real revenue source for network newscasts, which likely would have stopped existing years ago if the Bush Administration had not bent the rules allowing them to air pharmaceutical ads. Dan Rather should have been thanking Bush for allowing him to keep his job reading copy off a teleprompter while wearing a serious expression, instead of plotting to force him out of office.

Fans of the CBS-terminated TV series JERICHO will recognize the name “Ravenwood.” This was the ruthless mercenary force used by the illegitimate federal government at Cheyenne to subjugate the citizens of Kansas in the aftermath of a massive nuclear attack against two dozen American cities. As with much of JERICHO’s superbly written story line, Ravenwood reflected real-world entities. Private mercenary forces have been used extensively throughout the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as well as in many other theaters. Now it looks like JERICHO was more prophecy than fiction.

An underreported (what’s new?) story out of a little town in Montana has brought real-life drama to the CBS blockbuster TV series. Interestingly enough, CBS is the only major news network that has covered the Montana story.

The Obama Administration has now actually co-sponsored an anti-free speech resolution at the United Nations. Approved by the U.N. Human Rights Council last Friday, the resolution, cosponsored by the U.S. and Egypt, calls on states to condemn and criminalize “any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence.” What could be wrong with that? Plenty.

First of all, there’s that little matter of the First Amendment, which preserves Americans’ right to free speech and freedom of the press, which are obviously mutually inclusive. Any law that infringed on speech at all — far less in such vague and sweeping terms — would be unconstitutional.

“Incitement” and “hatred” are in the eye of the beholder — or more precisely, in the eye of those who make such determinations. The powerful can decide to silence the powerless by classifying their views as “hate speech.” The Founding Fathers knew that the freedom of speech was an essential safeguard against tyranny: the ability to dissent, freely and publicly and without fear of imprisonment or other reprisal, is a cornerstone of any genuine republic. If some ideas cannot be heard and are proscribed from above, the ones in control are tyrants, however benevolent they may be.

Former White House speechwriter John L. Perry has courted controversy by suggesting that the U.S. Military, upholding their oath to defend the Constitution against domestic enemies, could stage a bloodless coup to oust President Obama.

In an article ^[2] originally posted on the Newsmax website, Perry wrote, “There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic.”

Despite the fact that Perry was not explicitly advocating such a coup, Newsmax later removed the article ^[3] to ensure it “was not misinterpreted”.

The article outlines how military officers, outraged at Obama’s “trampling” on the Constitution, nationalization of American institutions, rising deficits, unemployment and taxes, could peaceably seize power from the “radical-left commissars” of the Obama administration.

“Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible,” writes Perry.

It is important to stress that Perry is not a Neo-Con, he worked under the Democratic administrations of Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter.

Perry warns that America could be unrecognizable by 2012, prompting a coup to “restore and defend the Constitution,” a prospect that is “weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership,” he writes.

I’ve always liked and admired Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn.

In fact, I think she has so many of the ingredients we naturally associate with leadership – good communication skills, attractiveness, courage, convictions – that I have speculated more than once she could be presidential timber.

However, I’ve found a chink in the armor.

Apparently, she, too – like so many of her Republican colleagues in Congress – is deathly afraid of the Barack Obama eligibility issue.

Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, has apparently hired a cadre of left-wing, Democrat campaign bloggers to troll through the Internet looking for news stories and blog posts that denigrate the Obama agenda. After such websites are found it is the job of these secret lefty bloggers to leave comments that come to the support of Obamaism in the comments sections. It seems that Eric Holder has created his own little propaganda unit in a valiant effort to become the Bloggi Riefenstahl of the Obama era.

As reported at The Muffled Oar, a blog that first broke the story of Holder’s secretive blogging unit — dubbed the “Blog Squad” by blogger Isaac Muzzey — Holder has housed this unit in the Office of Public Affairs at the Department of Justice. It also appears that former John Edwards staffer Tracy Russo is part of this special unit.

A site called whorunsgov.com reported back in May that DOJ hired Russo to do “media outreach for the whole department.” It is, according to whorunsgov.com, the first time such an effort has been made at DOJ.

ROSCOE, Ill. — William Thomas Massie’s nightmares almost always begin in a dusty prison cell. His arms are lashed behind his back, and North Korean guards are karate-chopping his neck, kicking his groin and ankles, and smashing his face with fists and rifle butts.

The frigid room is illuminated only by tannin-tinted light trickling through newspaper-covered windows. The guards are screaming. One thrusts an assault rifle into Massie’s mouth. The soldier’s finger is on the trigger. Sweat stings Massie’s eyes. He is terrified.

When he wakes up, his body aches. Sometimes he sobs.

Army Officers Criticize Rebuke Of Gen. McChrystal

Army officers gathered at a convention in Washington this week said senior White House officials should not have rebuked Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, for saying publicly that a scaled-back war effort would not succeed.

The hallways at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center buzzed with sympathy for McChrystal, who has said the U.S.-led effort in Afghanistan risks failure without a rapid infusion of additional forces. Obama and his advisers are now debating strategy in Afghanistan, with some officials arguing against additional deployments.

“It was definitely a hand slap,” one Army officer said of the statement last weekend by national security adviser James L. Jones, a retired Marine general, that military officials should pass advice to President Obama through their chain of command. The Army officer, like others attending the annual meeting of the Association of the United States Army, spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the politically sensitive issue.

A number of senior Army officers compared McChrystal to Gen. Eric K. Shinseki, the Army chief of staff who warned before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 that it would take several hundred thousand troops to secure the country — advice that was dismissed as “wildly off the mark” by then Deputy Defense Secretary Paul D. Wolfowitz.

“You know what happened to Shinseki,” said one Army general, referring to what many officers believe was the Bush administration’s punitive treatment of the general, now Obama’s secretary of veteran affairs. Shinseki’s assessment was vindicated when President George W. Bush increased U.S. troop levels in Iraq.

KABUL, Afghanistan — Insurgents fought their way inside an American base in Afghanistan last weekend in a rare security breach before they were driven back under heavy fire during the deadliest battle for U.S. troops in more than a year, a U.S. official said yesterday.

The bold assault raised serious questions about the security of thinly manned outposts spread across the troubled nation’s volatile border region with Pakistan, and reflects growing insurgent resolve.

WASHINGTON — A liberal Democratic senator questioned the roles of Obama administration policy “czars” Tuesday, but the White House denied it is using these officials to evade congressional scrutiny.

Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wis., said Congress needs to know whether some of the czars make policy but have no obligation to submit to congressional questioning.

While the Obama administration is hardly the first to name high-level advisers to handle issues like health care and climate change, Feingold said, “It’s not good enough to simply say, ‘Well, George Bush did it too.’”

It has been pretty clear that the Obama administration does not look with particular favor on the second amendment, but it is also becoming increasingly evident that the President is not much of a ‘fan’ of the first one, either. According to an article by Anne Bayefsky (“You Can’t Say That — At the UN, the Obama administration backs limits on free speech”), The Obama administration has marked its first foray into the UN human rights establishment by backing calls for limits on freedom of expression. The newly-minted American policy was rolled out at the latest session of the UN Human Rights Council, which ended in Geneva on Friday. American diplomats were there for the first time as full Council members and intent on making friends. President Obama chose to join the Council despite the fact that the Organization of the Islamic Conference holds the balance of power and human rights abusers are among its lead actors, including China, Cuba, and Saudi Arabia. Islamic states quickly interpreted the president’s penchant for “engagement” as meaning fundamental rights were now up for grabs. Few would have predicted, however, that the shift would begin with America’s most treasured freedom.

I just received a call from Orly Taitz, my attorney in the case seeking proof of Obama’s eligibility for the Office of President of the United States. Judge Carter has released a statement declaring that the dates he set for the hearing and trial on the eligibility issue are confirmed, and it will move forward as scheduled. Apparently he was not swayed by the Obama lawyer’s arguments.

The White House finds a four-star scapegoat for its Afghan jitters.

Democrats have found someone worth fighting in Afghanistan. His name is Stan McChrystal.

The other night, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi went after the commander of U.S. and allied forces in Afghanistan, “with all due respect,” for supposedly disrespecting the chain of command. Around the Congressional Democratic Caucus, we’re told Members refer to General McChrystal as “General MacArthur,” after the commander in Korea sacked by Harry Truman.

White House aides have fanned these flames with recent leaks to the media that “officials are challenging” his assessment asking for more troops. In the last two days, the White House National Security Adviser and the Secretary of Defense have both suggested that the general should keep his mouth shut. President Obama called him in Friday for a talking-to on the tarmac at Copenhagen airport.

Though a decorated Army four-star officer, the General’s introduction to Beltway warfare is proving to be brutal. To be fair, Gen. McChrystal couldn’t know that his Commander in Chief would go wobbly so soon on his commitment to him as well as to his own Afghan strategy when he was tapped for the job in AprilWe’re told by people who know him that Gen. McChrystal “feels terrible” and “had no intention whatsoever of trying to lobby and influence” the Administration. His sense of bewilderment makes perfect sense anywhere but in the political battlefield of Washington. He was, after all, following orders.

In a quiet residential neighborhood in Long Beach 13 years ago, Dick Keech fired four shots at his son-in-law, who lay face-down on a neighbor’s lawn, bleeding from an earlier gunshot wound.

“It’s all over,” he said later to a neighbor who ran out at the sound. “He won’t bother anyone anymore.”

On Monday, a Long Beach judge said he would grant Keech, 89, the compassion he did not show his 47-year-old son-in-law, Nick Candy, at the time of the killing in 1996. Judge William T. Garner ordered Keech, who was serving a life term for murder, released on grounds that he is medically incapacitated. The World War II veteran suffers from progressive dementia and an accompanying “sundowning” syndrome causing severe confusion, depression and terror, according to a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation report recommending his release. He has difficulty swallowing, spends most of his days confined to his bed or his geriatric chair, and is unable to do anything on his own, the report said.

In a 24-page filing littered with all-caps, bold, and underlined text, Birther attorney Orly Taitz is demanding that a federal judge recuse himself in a case that has morphed from a soldier’s attempt to resist Barack Obama’s orders to what Taitz sees as a prosecution of herself.

Taitz alleges that Judge Clay Land met with Attorney General Eric Holder, who was allegedly spotted at a small coffee shop across from Land’s courtroom in Columbus, Georgia, on the day of a Birther hearing. A strange affidavit by one Robert Douglas describes the putative sighting of Holder, sans entourage, who “probably thought he would not be recognized.”

Douglas writes:

I looked up and immediately recognized an individual entering and approaching the serving counter, due to his well know [sic] TV displayed distinguishing features: his trim upper lip mustache, not large of stature and general olive complexion.

Here’s a real copy of an American citizen’s DHS Travel Record retrieved from the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol’s Automated Targeting System (ATS). This was obtained through a FOIA/Privacy Act request and sent in by an anonymous reader (thanks!)

The document reveals that the DHS is storing the reader’s:

• Credit card number and expiration (really)
• IP address used to make web travel reservations
• Hotel information and itinerary
• Full Name, birth date and passport number
• Full airline itinerary, including flight numbers and seat numbers
• Cruise ship itinerary
• Phone numbers, incl. business, home & cell
• Every frequent flyer and hotel number associated with the subject, even ones not used for the specific reservation

Boehner to Obama: ‘Where are the jobs?’ – “While the president is in Copenhagen tomorrow,” House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said today, “the American people are going to wake up and find out that hundreds of thousands more Americans have lost their jobs. “The administration’s trillion dollar stimulus plan clearly is not working. Americans were promised that this plan would create jobs immediately and keep the unemployment rate below eight percent. But Americans are asking, where are the jobs?”

John Boehner has been in Congress for ten terms (20 years). Boehner voted for the unconstitutional North American Free Trade treaty (NAFTA – No American Factories Taking Applications). The modern presidency is primarily the intellectual handiwork not of the Framers but of one FramerAlexander Hamilton. Hamiltons idea of the presidency can be found in a remarkable speech he gave to the convention, on June 18, 1787. In it, Hamilton argued that the president should serve for life, name Cabinet members without Senate approval, have an absolute veto on legislation, and have the direction of war once authorized or begun. The president would be a monarch, Hamilton admitted, but an elective monarch.

Hamiltons plan was so far from the mainstream of thought at the convention that none of its provisions was ever seriously discussed. Nonetheless, Hamilton was and remains the chief theorist of the presidency, first in writing his essays for The Federalist and then in serving as George Washingtons secretary of the Treasury. In this latter role, acting as Washingtons de facto prime minister, Hamilton took full advantage of the vagueness and brevity of Article II, laying the groundwork for an outsize presidency while the war-hero Washington was still in office.

In The Federalist, Hamilton had famously proclaimed that energy in the executive is a leading character in the definition of good government. Just how much energy he favored became clear during Americas first foreign crisis, the Neutrality Proclamation controversy of 1793. When Britain and France went to war, many Americans wanted to aid their Revolutionary ally. But Washington and the Federalists were rightly terrified of war with the powerful British Empire. Washington unilaterally proclaimed that the United States would be neutral.

Imus commented on Glenn Beck. He says he loves Glenn Beck, but joked “it doesn’t end well.”

On David Letterman, Imus said Letterman is a “mean-spirited jerk,” “a punk” who should not have treated what he did in such a “frivolous” manner.

Imus said he does not think President Obama “knows what he is doing,” but he does not dislike him. Imus said Obama reminds him of Jimmy Carter, although he said he’s nicer than Carter, who is a “mean-spirited weasel.”

The fear on the street is palpable. Ever since the election of Barack Obama as President of these United States in November 2008, coupled with the election of a democrat party majority in both the U.S. House and Senate, concern for the United States and personal safety has ignited like a fire in dry grass.

Sales of guns black guns, rifles, shotguns and handguns (particularly 9mm) everywhere, have gone through the roof. AR15s have literally flown off of dealer shelves, and only now in the spring of 2009, have I seen the display samples of ARs begin to reappear on the wall of my favorite shooting emporium after the initial post election rush.
Manufacturers of ARs are still working to catch up and some of the major suppliers are as much as 150,000 guns behind. Not only that, ammo is in the shortest supply I have ever seen in the 43 years of my shooting life. Have you recently tried to get 5.56mm, 9mm or even 380 ammo?

Supplies of 5.56mm and 9mm ammo are in short supply due to the black gun buying craze; .380ACP because of the rise in people getting concealed carry permits and the resurgence of interest in convenient 380 handguns like the fine Ruger LCP. In fact, in doing a review of the Ruger LCP, my gun store only had a small supply of ONE .380 round on hand, the Winchesters 95-grain SXT, which they had just gotten in. Unfortunately, I had to do a 30-round review of that pistol. There was none other to be found.

What is odd about this new fear is that it is not coming from the average citizen gun owner out there, but it is coming from what to me is an almost shocking source: street cops.

The arguments are flaring between Democrats and lying insults are flying against Republicans. We certainly recall Rep. Joe Wilson’s trouble when he called President Obama a liar during Obama’s last speech to congress. Wilson was practically called every name in the book even though he immediately apologized to the President. Still, many have demanded that he apologizes to the whole congress and be censored. Bad Joe……….bad for pointing out one lie and not calling him liar through the entire speech. I counted 7 lies myself.

Apparently Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida is a choirboy and hero to the liberals in congress. He thought it was helpful and useful to have big posters pointing out in his talk, the Republican’s health plan promoted and wanted the following: 1. Don’t Get Sick 2. And if You Do Get Sick 3. Die Quickly. As is usually the case with flaming liberals and Obama, there is no apology from Grayson as was with Wilson. Even though Grayson was hurling out total lies and propaganda, who cares, let him smear.

So, the fights and name-calling are flowing around as various manipulations and attachments grab onto this Government health bill from hell.

Recently I interviewed Michael Connelly, a constitutional attorney who had read every page of the proposed government health care bill and its various attachments and maneuvers. He said that it was a vivid breach of the 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th amendments of our constitution, a complete violation of our right to privacy and protection from search and seizure.

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — Drivers on Interstate 70 can barely see the billboard but once they do the message has been gaining attention.

The billboard is located along I-70 between the Adams Dairy Parkway and the Grain Valley exits. The billboard reads, “How do you like your change now? Obama Nation. They are coming for you! The Taxpayer. First and Second Amendments are in jeopardy. Live free or Die.” There is also a hammer and sickle on the sign.

One of the most radical opponents of health care reform is Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA). He has said that a public option would “kill people.” Last Tuesday, Broun was confronted by a constituent at a health care town hall who explained that he has has gone into debt because he can’t afford insurance for his major depressive disorder. In response to his constituent’s story, Broun said that “people who have depression, who have chronic diseases in this country…can always get care in this country by going to the emergency room.” That comment prompted boos from the crowd. Some trends are so evident that even I can’t miss them. Chapter 9 of a book I wrote in the 1980s, Prodigal Press, has the title, “Network News and Local Newspapers: The Coming Economic Judgment.” It was easy to forecast that “use of personal computers in homes will lead to a more efficient delivery system” for the news, and that in the process liberal behemoths would stagger and fall.

Should Christians be upset that some major city news­papers have gone out of business, and that even the mighty New York Times has mortgaged its headquarters? No: We should work on filling the gaps. In that vein, another opportunity is coming: The small shock of falling endowments at many universities will soon be followed by a larger shock of falling enrollments, as online education leads to a more efficient delivery system for education.

The media/education analogy starts with the way cost of entry has gone way down in both realms. It used to take tens of millions of dollars to buy printing presses and distribute their products, or to build classroom buildings, dormitories, and performing arts centers. Now, with online news and online education, anyone can get in the game.

But in other ways the academic game is unlike the media game. Online media can bring words and photos equivalent to those of a newspaper, but can online education match the classroom experience? And, since college tuition buys not only education (sometimes) but higher status and improved future earnings, will online diplomas be satisfactory union cards?

What all these distinguished gentlemen share is relative confidence of being re-elected.

When France chides you for appeasement, you know you’re scraping bottom. Just how low we’ve sunk was d! emonstrated by the Obama administration’s satisfaction when Russia’s president said of Iran, after meeting President Obama at the United Nations, that “sanctions are seldom productive, but they are sometimes inevitable.”
You see? The Obama magic. Engagement works. Russia is on board. Except that, as The Post inconveniently pointed out, President Dmitry Medvedev said the same thing a week earlier, and the real power in Russia, Vladimir Putin, had changed not at all in his opposition to additional sanctions. And just to make things clear, when Iran then brazenly test-fired offensive missiles, Russia reacted by declaring that this newest provocation did not warrant the imposition of tougher sanctions.
Do the tally. In return for selling out Poland and the Czech Republic by unilaterally abrogating a missile-defense security arrangement that Russia had demanded be abrogated, we get from Russia . . . what? An oblique hint, of possible support, for unspecified sanction! s, grudgingly offered and of dubious authority — and, in any case, le ading nowhere because the Chinese have remained resolute against any Security Council sanctions.
Confusing ends and means, the Obama administration strives mightily for shows of allied unity, good feeling and pious concern about Iran’s nuclear program — whereas the real objective is stopping that program. This feel-good posturing is worse than useless, because all the time spent achieving gestures is precious time granted Iran to finish its race to acquire the bomb.

THE call to send 40,000 more US troops to Afghanistan ignores a crucial military principle:
Don’t reinforce failure.

In civilian terms, that’s “Don’t throw good money after bad.”

Anyway, we don’t have the troops to send — unless we want to ruin our exhausted ground forces.

This is a surge too far. The Army faces the prospect of sending soldiers directly from Iraq to Afghanistan. The senior officers responsible for our soldiers’ morale and readiness are appalled.

Afghanistan is such a mess that you have to clear off tons of political garbage to reach the reality. And the reality is that, while we’ve had great success in killing our enemies across the border in Pakistan, the effort to turn Afghanistan into a Jeffersonian paradise has failed utterly.
A serious military thinker would draw this obvious lesson: Reinforce our efforts to destroy al Qaeda and its auxiliaries. But don’t waste another soldier’s life trying to get Afghans to become good Americans.

AS CHINA celebrated 60 years of communist rule with a parade of military hardware, a senior US commander expressed concern that it was shaping to challenge the US militarily.
The commander of the Seventh Fleet, Vice-Admiral John Bird, said in Sydney yesterday that China’s naval capability “has grown much faster than any of our predictions”.
Of China’s new capabilities, “many are intended to counter a navy such as the US Navy,” with weapons systems “targeted to our carriers and larger ships.”
He suggested that China aimed ultimately to displace the US in the Pacific: “I think the Chinese would like to see less of the Seventh Fleet in this part of the world.
“I think their track record is pretty clear – the Chinese will continue to expand their maritime area of operations further in the future,” he told reporters aboard his command vessel, the USS Blue Ridge.

Federal Judge David Carter has set a date of January 26, 2010 for a lawsuit questioning Barack Obama’s eligibility to hold the office of President of the United States based on his “natural born” status.

Judge Carter dismissed Obama attorney team requests for a dismissal of the case, cutting them off several times and saying that “this is a very serious case” which must be resolved quickly for the sake of American troops stationed overseas in the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Witnesses report that Obama’s two attorneys left the 90-minute hearing looking “defeated and nervous.”
