I hate to say this out loud. Upon hearing Rush Limbaugh was in the hospital and his condition serious, I felt a nervous twinge in my stomach. Dare I say it, I thought, “Oh my gosh, what if Rush was gone”. I could not help but think of the shocking passing of Michael Jackson. The next morning, I timidly turned on my TV. “Praise God!”, Rush is resting comfortably. I had the same fearful feeling in my stomach once before years ago. My wife passed out after dinner as we were leaving a restaurant. She awoke and was fine. During…

On numerous Internet forums, and some email lists, gun owners periodically report being hassled by police when pulled over for routine traffic infractions. . . . But often there is a common thread to these stories – the dorky gun owner brought up the gun thing all on her own! . . .

1953: “Infantry Training Regiments” are established at Camp Geiger, North Carolina and Camp Pendleton, California. Marines begin the “Combat Apprenticeship Program” receiving individual combat training under the instruction of World War II and Korean War veterans.

“On 7 August, 1941, North Carolina tobacco fields were purchased from local farmers for the purpose of training the 1st MarDiv, based in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to execute strategic war plans associated with the “Island Hopping Campaign” in the Pacific theater. Departing from “tent camp,” a year later, the 1st MarDiv assaulted the island of Guadalcanal. By order of the Commandant of the Marine Corps on January 8, 1952, the name “Tent Camp” was changed to “Camp Geiger” in honor of Lieutenant General Roy Stanley Geiger. Lieutenant General Geiger was a pioneering Marine aviator who commanded the I and III Amphibious Corps, and the 10th Army, during World War II.

How to Survive “The Reign of the Anti-Reagan”

How to Survive “The Reign of the Anti-Reagan”
Laura Ingraham

Dear Fellow Conservative,

President Obama didn’t attend the 20th Anniversary celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall last November (he had another “date night” with Michelle, I believe). But if he had attended, I think I know what he would have said.

Turning to former Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev (who actually did attend), Obama would have declared, “Mr. Gorbachev, rebuild this wall!”

Indeed, I sometimes suspect that Obama’s sole approach to any policy problem is to ask himself “What Would Reagan Do?” and then do the opposite — while expecting the same results. So, for instance, Obama thinks that by raising taxes, increasing spending, and weakening the dollar he can restore prosperity just as effectively as Reagan did by cutting taxes, slashing spending, and strengthening the dollar.

It’s open season on gun carriers. A case out of the First Circuit has some painful lessons for gun carriers in Georgia. A United States Circuit Court of Appeals last week upheld the constitutionality of pointing a gun at any citizen daring to carry, lawfully, a concealed weapon in public. The First Circuit Court of Appeals is the Court just below the United States Supreme Court in the New England states. The case stems from a lawyer who sued a police officer after he was detained for lawfully carrying a concealed weapon while in possession of a license to carry…

Six Georgia Congressmen Challenge Greenhouse Regulations

Six Republican congressmen from Georgia have signed onto an Atlanta-based organization’s legal challenge of a federal announcement that could lead to government regulation of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Southeastern Legal Foundation filed a petition last week calling on the Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider its Dec. 7 “endangerment finding” declaring carbon dioxide and other gases linked to global warming a threat to public health and the environment.

The petition argues that news of a conspiracy within the scientific community to hide evidence that calls into question manmade impacts on global warming has emerged since the closing of public comment on the EPA filing.

Because Obama is a surrendered Muslim, he knows the cult’s teaching that lying is a must to further Islam World Rule. Therefore, lying occasionally is not his option. It is a spiritual ritual honored by the Koran’s Allah. Obama lies with a straight face. He lies promptly. He lies on delay. He lies from the Christian pulpit. He lies whenever convenient. This is the first time that America has had an Islamic disciple sitting in the Oval Office. That man is not aligned with the US Constitution. He is a man of the Koran, regarding it as holy writ.

How the Media Spiked Suttongate

How the Media Spiked Suttongate

This past Saturday witnessed the passing of 89 year-old Percy Sutton, a former Manhattan Borough President and, in his day, the most powerful black politician in New York. Although all the major media have reported his death, usually in some detail, none has made any mention of Sutton’s most recent and inconvenient brush with the news, what might profitably be called “Suttongate.”

How Suttongate came to be spiked, when it had the potential to undo the Obama candidacy in September 2008, is a story worth relating. . . [more]

Perhaps the greatest influence of communism in the United States is upon the political thinking of the American people. Many ideas that have achieved widespread acceptance in the United States on the part of people who have no sympathy with communism are derived directly from Marxist doctrine, but most people who hold those ideas are ignorant of their source. Marxian communism, unlike traditional liberalism, is based on a materialistic concept of life. Liberalism looks upon life primarily in moral terms. The Marxian doctrine that “economics determines all human life” assumes that men act, not on a basis of principles or…

Nice catch by Andrea Nill — Queen’s Medical Center, where Rush Limbaugh is being treated after experiencing chest pains yesterday, happens to be a crucial location in the birther mythos. A UPI article mistakenly identified that hospital, not the Kapi’olani Medical Center, as the birthplace of Barack Obama. And even though the article was corrected, the “no one can say where Obama was born” myth has persisted.

Looks like the folks at Wikipedia were prepared for the worst when it came to Rush Limbaugh. Actually they were a little too well prepared. Shortly after the news broke that the conservative political radio talk show host was hospitalized, Wikipedia updated his page – and pronounced him dead. TREASON – This word imports a betraying, treachery, or breach of allegiance. The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offense is punished with death. By the same article of the Constitution, no person shall be convicted of treason, unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

America is at a day of reckoning that it never quite expected to face. Not long ago, tired of eight years of Republican rule, terrified by the September 2008 financial panic, unimpressed by the campaign of John McCain, and mesmerized by the hope-and-change elixirs and landmark candidacy of Barack Obama, the American people voted for change. But change of what sort? I think voters wanted an end to the Bush deficits. Big government and Wall Street insiders sickened them. They were tired of the expense of two wars. By 2006, the scandals of the Republican Congress had turned them off….

“A charismatic leader can seize the opportunity and project himself as an agent of change and a revolutionary leader. Often, people, tired of the status quo, do not have the patience to examine the nature of the proposed change. All they want is change.

“During 1979, when the Iranians were tired of the dictatorial regime of the late Shah, they embraced Khomeini, not because they wanted Islam, but because he promised them change. The word in the street was, ‘anything is better than the Shah.’ They found their error when it was too late.”

I first chanced upon this horror (in abbreviated form) while in the bath reading The Week (which used to be my favourite mag but has gone seriously off now that it has abandoned all pretence of neutrality on the AGW issue). And though I admit it wasn’t quite as bad as having Freddy Krueger’s clawed hand come from beneath the bubbles to disembowel me then drag me down the plughole, it still gave me a seriously nasty turn – as I’m sure it will you too once I’ve parsed its insidious monstrousness.

It’s an article Charles Clover wrote in The Sunday Times a few weeks ago titled “If climate change doesn’t grab you, meet its evil twin.” [2] On first glance, it might look like just more of the same old glib drivel we’ve come to expect from the MSM’s environment specialists…

There’s the statutory de haut en bas dismissal of  your typical sceptic: “always a man, almost invariably wearing a tweed jacket”, apparently, claims the tweed-jacket-wearing, pheasant-shooting Clover.

Florida Attorney General McCollum wants states to resist health care bill

TALLAHASSEE — Attorney General Bill McCollum called on other states’ legal officers Tuesday to review a “tax on living” in the pending federal health-care proposals.

In a conference call with reporters, McCollum also said he might mount a court challenge if the final health package includes a Senate provision requiring the federal government to cover future Medicaid costs in Nebraska. That was added last week for Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., who provided the 60th vote needed by President Obama and Senate Democrats to get the plan to a vote.

State Sen. Dan Gelber of Miami Beach, a Democratic candidate for attorney general, accused McCollum, a Republican, of pouncing on the controversy to advance his own campaign for governor. Gelber said McCollum didn’t use his discretion as the state’s chief legal officer to enforce a state constitutional requirement for adequate funding of education, but chose to make a “legal review” of health care because that issue stirs the conservative base among Republicans and independent voters.

McCollum said “there are a lot of other problems” with the health package, but his main legal objection focused on a requirement all citizens get insurance or pay into a fund that would help cover their medical costs if they get sick or injured. Proponents of the plan have said the mandate is no different than requiring drivers to have auto insurance, but McCollum said people are not required to have a car or to drive.

One of the most bizarre things that’s happened to us in the last two years were the occasions when Rush Limbaugh read things we wrote on the air and called us “those HillBuzz babes in Chicago”.

One of our friends was driving in her car, listening to him live on the radio, and had to pull over, because she couldn’t believe her ears. Being lifelong moderate Democrats, people who DESPISED Limbaugh in high school, college, and most our adulthood, our friend realized at that moment how surreal things had become, with worlds colliding left and right. “Dear God in Heaven, Rush Limbaugh’s reading you. You’re saying things Rush Limbaugh likes. You and Rush Limbaugh are on the same page. Rush Limbaugh thinks you are women. Ron Paul was the candidate at the time that supported a smaller government, individual liberties and the Constitution closer than any other candidate. By far, he was the small government candidate. Others, especially conservatives, would often say that they support many of Paul’s positions, but… Either his voice was too “high and whiny”, or they viewed his position on America’s foreign policy to be “wacko” and “crazy”. That was quite a revealing — and understandable — public tantrum President Obama threw Tuesday. Understandable, because the president has every right to be livid over the “potentially catastrophic breach of security” that nearly saw a terrorist bring down an airliner with 289 people aboard. And revealing, because perhaps Obama has come to understand that he does not enjoy as much control over intelligence matters as he might have imagined. Also, that the Islamist threat to America won’t be countered with mere words.

The original sin of the good-riddance decade came in December of 2000, when the United States Supreme Court intervened to stop a complete recount of the votes in Florida and then declared George Bush to be the president. There is no shame in being adopted by a step father. All dirt has been thrown onto my husband’s face and yet he loves this country. My husband and I know that there is no law that will stop him from becoming the president, just because some American white racists are bringing up the issue of my husband’s adoption by His step father. The important thing here is where my husband’s heart is at the moment. I can tell the American people that My husband loves this country andhis adoption never changed his love for this country.
