The public is “rightfully” making questions about Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president into an issue, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin declared yesterday.
“Would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?” Palin was asked in an interview on the Rusty Humphries national radio show.
“I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers,” she replied.
Humphries asked: “Do you think it’s a fair question to be looking at?”

If there is one word that captures President Obama’s much-anticipated Afghanistan speech, it is “cynical.” Yes, the speech was also internally contradictory, counter-historical, and premised on fatally flawed assumptions about Islam and the Afghan people. Cynicism, however, is the defining feature of Obama speeches. This one was no different: from its use of the United States Military Academy as a prop to its concluding assertion that “our resolve is unwavering” . . . after the president had spent the preceding 40 minutes in full waver mode.
There are two things to bear in mind in considering any Obama speech, and they go double for those that touch on national security.

I am sometimes accused of believing in and promoting “conspiracy theories.”
To this charge, I must plead guilty.
For a long time, I have warned of a massive conspiracy to persuade the American public, in fact the population of the entire world, that life as we know it is threatened by a phantom crisis. This conspiracy is so massive and bold it seeks literally to usher in a new age of global governance, even though there is no evidence to support the claims behind the imminent threat to the planet.
Nevertheless, most of the news media, most government institutions, most politicians of both parties, nearly all schools and universities – even most corporations – promote this conspiracy.

So says no less an authority than former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean.
In Paris a few months ago, Dean described Organizing for America (OFA), as “a new innovation from Obama.” He continued
I think it’s a great thing for the Democratic Party. Remember I talked about the permanent campaign? Well, before I got to the DNC we didn’t have a permanent campaign. You would campaign for one year when you had a candidate and then if you didn’t win you wouldn’t campaign for 3 years. No wonder we’d lose. Now we not only have a permanent campaign for electing Democrats, we have a permanent campaign for influencing policy. It brings us a little closer to the European model.
Dean was referring to Organizing for America (OFA), the activist arm of the Democratic National Committee. OFA is the outgrowth of Obama for America, the president’s campaign to win the White House. OFA exists to unceasingly agitate for radical change.

In comments before the House and during a televised interview yesterday, Congressman Ron Paul pointed out that with the decision to increase troop presence in Afghanistan and into Pakistan, president Obama is preparing to continue on the path of “perpetual war for perpetual peace”.
“I think it’s a bit misleading.” The Congressman told Fox Business, following Obama’s speech to the nation last night.
“I think Obama is actually preparing us for perpetual war. He’s been warning in that speech and elsewhere that we will be going into Pakistan. The idea that we’re going to bring our troops home eventually is just not so.” Paul added.
“There’s no way that he’s going to be able to pay for this. This is going to cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and we don’t have the money and it’s going to bring us down if we don’t stop it.” The Congressman continued.
“All wars are paid for through inflation, this will just put more pressure on the Fed to create more money, because I don’t believe it would help us one bit to tax the people to pay for the war, they’ll try to, but that would be devastating to the economy.”
In response to charges of advocating a policy of cut and run in Afghanistan, the Congressman pointed out that the Taliban were previously allies, and also that according to the U.S. army’s own reports there are only a total of 100 Al Qaeda fighters in Afghanistan.
“We’re following this precept of perpetual war for perpetual peace, and to me it’s perpetual bankruptcy.” Paul said.
“They claim they’re not nation building, they claim we’re in there for national security, to destroy Al Qaeda, but our very presence is the motivation for people to join Al Qaeda or the Taliban.”
“How many more people have to die just for us to save face?” The Congressman asked.

This morning some commentator was on FOX News explaining how there was such a disconnect between the American people and Congress. I asked myself: Where?
Last November the American people voted back in the same Congress with the exception of a few seats.
This after the illegal bank bail outs by virtually the same Congress.
This after the massive hemorrhaging of their 401(ks) – a direct result of the rape of the American people because the same Congress has refused to get rid of the fiat currency which has brought the near death of the dollar.
This after more tens of BILLIONS of borrowed dollars being thrown to the illegal, immoral, undeclared wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. For our soldiers to guard the poppy fields. For massive corruption and pay offs to civilian contractors who infest both countries like locust.
If the American people were so incensed, why did they vote back the same Congress who have refused to implement the solutions for decades?

For Barack Obama, the magic is gone. He’s here, but the glamour has vanished. He still talks, but few people appear to be listening.
Sometime in spring, it began to be noticed (by Fred Barnes, among others) that he was losing the power to move people, or shape their opinions. When his agenda began meeting resistance, he gave a series of speeches and resistance grew stronger. The more he explained, the more people disliked what he said he was doing.
The base remained loyal, but three other subgroups had become disenchanted. “The thrill is gone,” said E.J. Dionne, who seemed at a loss as to where it had gone to. In the interests of clarity, and of diagnosis, let us attempt to explain.
There was one group that fell for Obama the Moderate, the man who kept his head (or appeared to) in the financial meltdown last autumn, the temperamental conservative who seemed incremental, the one David Brooks would call “Burkean.” Unfortunately, the temperamental conservative turned out to be an ideological radical, intent on ramming through on a narrow majority (and against the wishes of most of the country) a massive redo of the health care delivery system, an immense stack of paper that no one has read.

Major Jim Gant, U.S. Army Special Forces, released an essay entitled “One Tribe at a Time: A Strategy for Success in Afghanistan.“ pdf) It is based on his time living, working, and fighting with the tribes in Afghanistan, and it represents the most comprehensive strategic analysis I have seen to date. It is tragic that Major Gant is not advising the Obama administration. While the treatise may not have all the answers to what we face in Afghanistan, it clearly defines the main obstacles to success that most Americans, including our administration, fail to see.

First the U.S. Senate postpones its bill, next countries meeting in Copenhagen this month can’t agree on emissions cuts, then emails among climate scientists reveal rigged peer-review, and now comes a political uprising in Australia that may doom a carbon tax down under.
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has made a sweeping cap-and-trade bill the centerpiece of his legislative agenda, and for two years his climate alarmism has gone almost unchallenged. The conservative Liberal Party, which embraced a cap-and-tax scheme before losing the 2007 election, first said it would oppose any legislation that hurt the economy.

By now, most readers are familiar with the story of how a Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, crashed the White House State Dinner last Tuesday evening. President and Mrs. Obama were entertaining Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the first official State Dinner of the new administration. The Salahis were not on the invited guest list, but were still allowed to walk right into the White House. They even had face-to-face conversations with both President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Photographs of the Salahis with the President and Vice President have been published in numerous newspapers and on hundreds of web sites.

Imagine if President Obama went to Oslo next week to receive his Nobel Peace Prize and was arrested for purported war crimes committed by U.S. forces in Afghanistan. This bit of historical irony would be possible under an argument being made by Luis Moreno-Ocampo, chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Mr. Ocampo claims jurisdiction over actions of U.S. troops in Afghanistan because Kabul in 2003 acceded to the Rome Statute, which established the court. He said a preliminary examination already is under way regarding possible American culpability in crimes against humanity.

Van Jones, President Obama’s controversial former “green jobs” czar, serves on the advisory board of an independent environmental organization actively working with the White House, WND has learned.
Jones resigned in September after it was exposed he founded a communist revolutionary organization and signed a statement that accused the Bush administration of possible involvement in the 9/11 attacks.
Jones is one of 20 advisers to the University of Colorado–based Presidential Climate Action Project, or PCAP, which draws up climate-policy recommendations for the White House and has been working with members of the Obama administration.
The PCAP last September released a lengthy proposal to guide the environmental policies during the first 100 days of the 44th U.S. president regardless of whether Obama or Sen. John McCain won the election.
Soldier Sex In Afghanistan
December 1, 2009: Last year, the U.S. Army in Afghanistan has removed the prohibition on sex between male and female soldiers. There are 68,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan, and about ten percent of them are female. So far this year, about fifteen percent of these female troops have had pregnancy tests, and a few percent of the female troops have gone home because they were pregnant.
Since the 1990s, the army has been big on clean living (or whatever you want to call it) in combat zones. No booze, no sex and not cavorting (you know what that means) with the locals. But with most of the troops in combat zones being young and single, things happened. Some couples got caught. Commanders got tired of having to punish (usually with an Article 15, which is just short of a court martial) troops for “unauthorized fornication.” So now it is, if not authorized, not likely to get you punished (aside from the occasional unexpected pregnancy).

The most infamous party crashers in the world said Tuesday that they hate that label, denied they finagled their way into a White House state dinner and insisted that they were invited to the bash by a Washington law firm with ties to a senior Pentagon official.
“This has been the most devastating thing that’s ever happened to us,” Tareq Salahi, along with his wife Michaele, told Matt Lauer in the couple’s first television interview. “We’re greatly saddened by all the circumstances that have been involved in portraying my wife and I as party crashers. I can tell you we did not party crash the White House.”

Illegally treated by the same government, whose orders they were following, these US service personal were robbed of the due process to which they were entitled. It was noted that a higher level of legal representation was afforded the war criminals (terrorists) captured on the battle field.

Not only did they pose for a previous photo with Barack Obama, one of them, Tareq Salahi, has ties to some of the same radical Arab interests that backed Obama.
WorldNetDaily reports that Tareq Salahi served on the board of the American Task Force for Palestine (ATFP), where Columbia University Professor Rashid Khalidi served as vice president. Khalidi was a close friend and associate of Obama. Judi McLeod of the Canada Free Press has a Google cache identifying Tareq Salahi as a member of the ATFP.
Amid all the questions about the actions of the Salahis, it must also be asked if they were waved into the event by a White House staffer aware of their connections to Obama.

Condemned by his own vacillation to sketching a picture repulsive to multiple constituencies, Obama will use the impressive frame of West Point to lend his remarks an illusion of glorious leadership.
The event will be impressive: The US Military Academy does pomp and circumstance well. The cadets will be immaculate and perfectly behaved, applauding on cue (no Joe Wilson “You lie!” shout-outs from this hyper-disciplined bunch).

Many conservative politicians, radio hosts, and pundits have repeatedly stated their shared belief that the Republican Party “lost its way” prior to the 2008 election. In their minds, the entire conservative movement believed in limited government and low spending and was simply corrupted by absolute power. They may be surprised to learn that this is not the case at all. The fact that party leadership turned its back on limited government and low spending was entirely predictable. In fact, it should have been expected.
