Tea Party as third party? Many activists oppose attorney’s idea

An Orlando attorney’s effort to run candidates under the “Tea Party” label is panned by many of the conservative activists who have organized Tea Party rallies around the state.

Fred O’Neal, who has an anti-tax background but hasn’t been involved in Tea Party rallies, registered Tea Party with the Florida Division of Elections and says he wants to recruit candidates who favor low taxes and limited government.

South Florida Tea Party Chairman Everett Wilkinson is among those vehemently opposed to O’Neal’s idea. Says Wilkinson: “We already have problems with the two-party system and the deals being made. A third party is a third problem.”

KABUL — A senior commander connected to the Afghan Taliban and involved with the attack against the CIA that left eight people dead said Saturday that the bombing was retaliation for U.S. drone strikes in the Afghan-Pakistan border region. “We attacked this base because the team there was organizing drone strikes in Loya Paktia and surrounding area,” the commander said, referring to the area around Khost, the city where the U.S. facility was attacked. The commander, a prominent member of the Afghan insurgency, spoke on the condition of anonymity. The suicide attack, which dealt the biggest loss to the agency…

Democrats are turning their fire on Scott Rasmussen, the prolific independent pollster whose surveys on elections, President Obama’s popularity and a host of other issues are surfacing in the media with increasing frequency. The pointed attacks reflect a hardening conventional wisdom among prominent liberal bloggers and many Democrats that Rasmussen Reports polls are, at best, the result of a flawed polling model and, at worst, designed to undermine Democratic politicians and the party’s national agenda. On progressive-oriented websites, anti-Rasmussen sentiment is an article of faith. “Rasmussen Caught With Their Thumb on the Scale,” blared the Daily Kos this summer. “Rasmussen…

In November 2008, I stood in a bar in Kenya watching Barack Obama give his victory speech. From the wild cheering of the crowd on TV, and his repeated appeals to them personally—”You said,” “You heard,” “You called”—I felt as if the people of America knew this man far better than I, even though we shared the same father. If there was a leading light in the Obama clan, he was it; and if there was a shadowed place that no one liked to talk about, then that, I guess, was me.

In short, they want to send a powerful message to the political establishment by sending all 435 incumbent House members — the good, the bad, and the ugly — packing in the 2010 elections, as well as all 33 incumbent Senators.

DOES THE POST OFFICE HAVE YOU COMING AND GOING, TOO?

DOES THE POST OFFICE HAVE YOU COMING AND GOING, TOO?

I dunno bout you all, but I hate to go to the PO!

But, it looks like they have it set up so that, in effect, we will have to do just that!

Look at it this way…let’s say that a stamp/postage for a regular first class letter to Aunt Tizzie in New York is XX cents. And the cost for each additional ounce, or thickness, or oversize dimensions are XXA cents. How do we ourselves stick on the just right amount of postage?

Trouble is, that for those overweight/oversize letters (maybe overweight or oversize) we aren’t quite sure if they are ok as is, or if we need to take them to the PO. Unless of course we’ve taken the trouble to gather the necesarry charts, scale, and gizmos that you can slip the letter through to see if it’s ok or not.

When in doubt, I used to just stick an extra stamp on the damn thing and let it go with paying more than needed, in most cases. THEY KNOW THIS, RIGHT!?

Maybe that’s why prices keep rising; and why their requirements keep getting more complicated. They never come out on the short end–we do!

They always come out good on whatever happens here, not us. And still they cannot make a go of it. Always crying “poor-mouth,” always in the hole, needing big brother guvmint to bail them out.

Yet, they love to boast that they do not operate on taxes that we–the people–pay. They claim they are like any other business operating on their own (in this case, non-existent) profits. But yet they still have the (guvmint) monopoly on first class mail, I think, maybe? Why the monopoly?

Again, sounds like they got us coming and going.

Now just who really needs those money orders they sell–you can buy them in any convenience store, probably. This isn’t a hundred years ago on the American fromtier, we should be able to choose these services, unlimited, from a variety of non-guvmint sources.

And the unwanted resident/occupant spam that they stuff in our mailboxes! Why? You cannot refuse to accept just the occupant/resident junk w/o refusing ALL your mail!

Kinda got ya comingand going, huh?

And the lines at the post office to get the correct amount of postage on each letter, else they might be reurned to you–in a few (or more) days.

Got ya coming and going, huh?

Maybe if they made it so folks could just put the right amount of postage on their mailings. Maybe then those lines at the PO wouldn’t be such a problem. Maybe that would lower employee salaries and operating costs.

Abstract: Your information is for sale, and the government is buying it at alarming rates. The CIA, FBI, Justice Department, Defense Department, and other government agencies are at this very moment turning to a group of companies to provide them information that these companies can gather without the restrictions that bind government intelligence agencies. The information is gathered from sources that few would believe the government could gain unfettered access to, but which, under current Fourth Amendment doctrine and statutory protections, are completely accessible. Fourth-parties, such as ChoicePoint or LexisNexis, are private companies that aggregate data for the government, and…

For Brown, JFK transcends party lines

In the special election for US Senate, the Kennedy shadow is so long that it extends all the way into the Republican Party.

Or so it would seem from the first television ad of the race, in which Scott Brown, the GOP candidate, employs an unlikely visage to make his case to voters: President John F. Kennedy,…

[text excerpted]

The new 30-second spot begins with grainy footage of Kennedy delivering a 1962 speech on using tax breaks to spur the economy. Halfway through, the image morphs into Brown, a state senator from Wrentham, finishing Kennedy’s sentence.

“President Kennedy actually was the first person who called for across-the-board tax cuts,’’ Brown said yesterday during a press conference at the Massachusetts GOP headquarters in Boston. “The theme is there’s two different people from two different parties, two different eras, who have the same message, which is across-the-board tax cuts.’’

Fox News host Glenn Beck’s national domination

It’s official: Americans admire Glenn Beck more than they admire the pope.

This news, at once unsettling and unsurprising, came from the Gallup polling organization on Wednesday. Beck, the new Fox News host who has said President Obama has a “deep-seated hatred for white people” and alternately likens administration officials to Nazis and Marxists, was also more admired by Americans than Billy Graham and Bill Gates, not to mention Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush. In Americans’ esteem, Beck only narrowly trailed South Africa’s Nelson Mandela, the man who defeated apartheid.

The 45-year-old recovering alcoholic and Mormon convert has become the first true demagogue of the information age. His nightly diet of falsehoods and conspiracies on Fox, and his daily outrages on the radio, have propelled his popularity past even Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. His method is simple: He goes places where others are forbidden by conscience.

Death panels? Government health insurance for dogs? FEMA concentration camps? An Obama “civilian national security force” like Hitler’s SS or Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guard? An administration official advocating forced abortions and sterilization agents in drinking water? Beck trafficked in them all in 2009.

He also proposed on his radio show that people should read Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” to prepare for Obama’s health-care plan — and that’s in addition to the 28 times the Fuhrer made an appearance on Beck’s Fox show in 2009. The Anti-Defamation League identified the secret to Beck’s success when it noted that he, unlike other prominent right-wing talkers, was willing “to give a platform to the conspiracy theorists and anti-government extremists.”

You can bet that getting finances in order is the top resolution for the State of Arizona.

It will get an early test this month.

A massive education payment is expected to drain state resources down to zero.

What happens next will affect anyone who works for or with state government.

It’s what happens when you run out of money.

You can’t pay your bills.

Arizona legislators have not been able to resolve the budget crisis, and our state could be weeks away from running out of money.

That means having to issue IOU’s to everyone.

And it’s not only state workers, but also those who provide services, such as child care centers.

“We got here by mismanagement of our budget. We’ve been over spending for the last few years,”.

“We’re not coming out of this in the next year. This is going to be here in 2012, 2013,” .

And, over the years, voters have approved propositions that cost a lot of money …

It’s mandated spending the legislature can’t touch.

“Over 60% of our state budget is locked down by those voter mandates,”

The Michelle Obama story to be updated tomorrow the 19th of October

Posted by africanpress on December 31, 2009

We would like to inform all our readers that update on Michelle Obama story will be released tomorrow.

We have understood the importance that the American people put into electing the right candidate for the Presidency.

It is important that the tapes be released and all can judge for themselves what Mrs Obama meant and why it has come at the near-end of electioneering. The fact that the mainstream American media has been reluctant to reveal what they know about Obama is very unfortunate.

The American mainstream media seems to be interested in excitement and we all know that the only excitement at present is for some to say they witnessed history of some kind – the election of a black man to govern the only powerful nation in the world.

All the readers should exercise patience. We in API promise that you will get to know the truth when the recordings are finally released.

In addition to using the money for operating expenses, Harris said many districts are using the funding for small purchases rather than large-scale projects. Fort Hood tightens restrictions on guns–what would stop “the next Hassan”? (Part IV)
chicago gun rights examiner ^ | 29 December, 2009 | Don Gwinn

Posted on Saturday, January 02, 2010 8:40:01 AM by marktwain

In the last three installments of the Chicago Gun Rights Examiner, we’ve examined new, more onerous restrictions on military personnel who own “privately-owned firearms” while serving at Fort Hood in Texas. Today, in the final installment of the series, it’s time to answer the most relevant question that the criticisms of Fort Hood’s restrictive new firearm policies leave unanswered:

So registration and regulations won’t work? Fine–what measures would stop “the next Hassan”?

As many reader comments seem to suggest, targeting specific weapons a terrorist might use is guaranteed to fail over time. Major Hassan’s terrorist attack was not made possible by his ability to purchase the pistol he used; he took advantage of an opportunity to use that weapon, but if it had been unavailable, or if he had preferred something more effective, the pistol would never have been involved. The element that would have remained in any case is Major Hassan himself–and the only effective measures would have dealt with Major Hassan and his victims. This column has already repeated calls for American troops to be armed at all times and trained with that expectation in mind. There is no need to repeat that message in detail again, but the ridiculousness of having thousands of trained military personnel running around unarmed as our nation prepares to enter its ninth year of warfare against an asymmetrical enemy speaks for itself.

Patton On Communism And The Khazar Jews….

Patton On Communism And The Khazar Jews
General Patton’s Warning
Edited by Raquel Baranow
2-18-9
At the end of World War II, one of America’s top military leaders accurately assessed the shift in the balance of world power which that war had produced and foresaw the enormous danger of communist aggression against the West. Alone among U.S. leaders he warned that America should act immediately, while her supremacy was unchallengeable, to end that danger. Unfortunately, his warning went unheeded, and he was quickly silenced by a convenient “accident” which took his life.
Thirty-two years ago, in the terrible summer of 1945, the U.S. Army had just completed the destruction of Europe and had set up a government of military occupation amid the ruins to rule the starving Germans and deal out victors’ justice to the vanquished. General George S. Patton, commander of the U.S. Third Army, became military governor of the greater portion of the American occupation zone of Germany.

It was only in the final days of the war and during his tenure as military governor of Germany — after he had gotten to know both the Germans and America’s “gallant Soviet allies” — that Patton’s understanding of the true situation grew and his opinions changed. In his diary and in many letters to his family, friends, various military colleagues, and government officials, he expressed his new understanding and his apprehensions for the future. His diary and his letters were published in 1974 by the Houghton Mifflin Company under the title The Patton Papers.

Several months before the end of the war, General Patton had recognized the fearful danger to the West posed by the Soviet Union, and he had disagreed bitterly with the orders which he had been given to hold back his army and wait for the Red Army to occupy vast stretches of German, Czech, Rumanian, Hungarian, and Yugoslav territory, which the Americans could have easily taken instead.

On May 7, 1945, just before the German capitulation, Patton had a conference in Austria with U.S. Secretary of War Robert Patterson. Patton was gravely concerned over the Soviet failure to respect the demarcation lines separating the Soviet and American occupation zones. He was also alarmed by plans in Washington for the immediate partial demobilization of the U.S. Army.

Patton said to Patterson: “Let’s keep our boots polished, bayonets sharpened, and present a picture of force and strength to the Red Army. This is the only language they understand and respect.”

Patterson replied, “Oh, George, you have been so close to this thing so long, you have lost sight of the big picture.”

Patton rejoined:

“I understand the situation. Their (the Soviet) supply system is inadequate to maintain them in a serious action such as I could put to them. They have chickens in the coop and cattle on the hoof — that’s their supply system. They could probably maintain themselves in the type of fighting I could give them for five days. After that it would make no difference how many million men they have, and if you wanted Moscow I could give it to you. They lived on the land coming down. There is insufficient left for them to maintain themselves going back. Let’s not give them time to build up their supplies. If we do, then . . . we have had a victory over the Germans and disarmed them, but we have failed in the liberation of Europe; we have lost the war!”

Patton’s urgent and prophetic advice went unheeded by Patterson and the other politicians and only served to give warning about Patton’s feelings to the alien conspirators behind the scenes in New York, Washington, and Moscow.

With the signing of an under-publicized amendment to Executive Order 12425, Barack Obama has fundamentally altered your constitutional rights. His actions are undermining your rights to protect personal privacy from a foreign internationalist police agency named Interpol. A one-paragraph executive order may seem inconsequential to many, but this action has far reaching implications and threatens the sovereignty of America. Obama’s secretive Executive Order amended an order issued by President Reagan in 1983. Reagan’s order recognized Interpol as an International Organization and gave it privileges and immunities commonly extended to foreign diplomats. Reagan opened the door to allow Interpol to operate…

THE Rudd Government is forcing hundreds of long-serving military personnel to sacrifice up to $20,000 a year in superannuation benefits. The working lives of about 320 staff were extended by five years when the Government raised the military retirement age to 60. But their employer superannuation contributions ceased because they had reached their so-called “maximum benefit limit”. That means they are effectively paid about $20,000 a year less than a younger person doing the same job. In some cases super benefits of up to $240,000 could be lost. The Government’s review of military superannuation said the injustice should be corrected…

I missed the implications of this up front and I bet you all did too, but I am hearing from members of the American intelligence community and some on the outside closely connected to those on the inside who are raising a huge red flag right now.

It appears Barack Obama inexperience and amateurishness has just started bonfires on the bridges connecting him to the American intelligence community and delivered a huge, HUGE psychological win to Al Qaeda.

People tell me the President’s rush to acknowledge the attack on the CIA in Afghanistan and mourn the deaths openly, publicly, and via press release is a huge no no. The CIA and greater intelligence community would prefer not to have the attention put on them. Additionally, because the President took the time to draft a blanket statement focused on the CIA in general instead of individually and more privately focusing on the families of the victims, it acknowledges the CIA’s work in Afghanistan, acknowledges that the attack has an impact on the CIA, and gives the terrorists a new recruiting tool — “you too can cause America to publicly mourn the loss of their spies.”

WASHINGTON — The US Post Office could play a key role in distributing medical aid in the event of a biological attack, according to an executive order released by the White House.

The order signed by President Barack Obama directs government agencies, local law enforcement and the US Post Office to work on a model for distribution of medical countermeasures in the wake of a biological attack.

“This policy would seek to: (1) mitigate illness and prevent death; (2) sustain critical infrastructure; and (3) complement and supplement State, local, territorial, and tribal government medical countermeasure distribution capacity,” the order said.

“The US Postal Service has the capacity for rapid residential delivery of medical countermeasures for self administration across all communities in the United States,” the order added.

The US Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano were instructed to work with the post office to develop a “dispensing model for US cities to respond to a large-scale biological attack, with anthrax as the primary threat consideration.”
