Of Muhammad and Islam, he writes: “Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of…

Former Vice President Dick Cheney stormed the beachheads of the liberal US media again today with a fiery performance on ABC’s This Week. He offered a stinging rebuke to current VP Joe Biden’s ludicrous claim that Iraq may end up as one of Barack Obama’s “great achievements”, as well as blistering criticism of the Obama administration’s handling of terrorist suspects. He also launched a strike on Biden’s recent comment that another 9/11 scale attack was “unlikely.” “I just think that’s just dead wrong. I think the biggest threat the United States faces today is the possibility of another 9/11 with…

In January of 1993, a coalition of women’s groups in California announced a “study” showing that domestic violence against women reached its peak during the Super Bowl. In fact, they claimed, domestic violence increased by 40% during the big game. It turned out that the statistics were made up in order to highlight a very real issue. The numbers were always suspect; everyone knows men do not even notice women when football is on television. Fast forward to Valentine’s Day. How many people realize that 48% of married men, and 41% of single men in long-lasting relationships, face physical, mental…

Your Debra Medina attack [2] really got me asking why it was a top priority for you to “expose” her “9/11 truther” connections.

You even asked:

“Do you have advisors that advise you or people that are around you that are 9/11 Truthers? … Would you, if you found out that there were, would you disavow them like the president should have but I mean, he escorted them out in the middle of the night.” Benedict Arnold Glenn Beck [3]

It’s enough to get me wondering if these truthers are a “National Security Threat” or what hideous crimes they may have committed against the U.S. of America.

Glenn, you seem pretty on top of this, besides “thought crimes”, what are the crimes or “threats posed” by “9/11 truthers” to the country or yourself?

It’s a good question… huh, Glenn?

I decided to do a Google for “9/11 truther crimes [4]” and guess what? It gave me answers like “war crimes”, “9/11 crimes” and “crimes against humanity”.

How quickly the president and congressional Democrats have turned to tricks and ploys and sham events. —

How the mighty have fallen! Only seven or eight months ago, President Obama and congressional Democrats were on their way to remaking America along liberal lines and positioning themselves for decades of political dominance.

Their lopsided majorities in the House and Senate, plus the White House, gave them unassailable command of Washington.

Today, they still have those majorities and the presidency, but they’re no longer in command. Their hopes of enacting the most ambitious agenda of liberal legislation since the days of FDR and the Depression are over.

Now they’re reduced to stunts, tricks, and gambits usually associated with embattled presidents and minority parties.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday the Obama administration believes Iran is becoming a military dictatorship.

In remarks to Arab students at Carnegie Mellon’s campus in Qatar, Clinton said the Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran appears to have gained so much power, saying “the Revolutionary Guard … we believe is, in effect, supplanting the government of Iran.”

“That is how we see it. We see that the government of Iran, the supreme leader, the president, the parliament, is being supplanted and that Iran is moving toward a military dictatorship. That is our view.”

St Valentine’s Day is an important day for most people but this year it is especially important. Why? Is it going to be particularly chocolate-filled? Will there be a mountain of roses? No. It will be the 80th anniversary of the start of the women’s section in Opus Dei and as a woman in Opus Dei that’s really important to me.

Opus Dei began life on 2 October 1928 when a young Fr Josemaría Escriva caught the tiniest glimpse of God’s plan for him within the Catholic Church. At that time, he believed that it would only be for men. However, two years later, while celebrating Mass on 14 February 1930, he realised that women were very much part of Opus Dei.

Did Barak H. Obama Ever attend Occidental College or even Columbia University?
American Grand Jury ^ | February 15th, 2010

They have a record of him being there from 1979 to 1981 when he dropped out and moved to New York. No one remembers him, there are no pictures of him, he is not in any of the publications, none of the instructors remember him, other than that file which Occidental said under the privacy law they could not release, that is the only thing connecting him to Occidental College.

Some friends and myself were talking about this today and one of the guys told me, I know a few people from Columbia University and he said he has talked to them several times concerning this issue and everyone that he has talked to said “We do not remember him..”

If he were here any time at all other than the file on record we would have pictures, If Obama was involved in the activities that he said he was in he would of been Photographed, he would of been in publications during that time, we would have his personal comments on file but there is nothing, there would of been something outside the record on file that would indicate that he was there. No one even remembers him graduating.

Wayne Allen Root says: (1983 graduate of Columbia) “I don’t know a single person that knows him and they all know me.” I don’t have a classmate one that ever knew Barack H. Obama at Columbia ever…” “No one recalls him, I am not exaggerating, I am not kidding.”

Root was a political Science/Pre-Law major at Columbia. Barack H. Obama should of been in the same classes or shared many classes with Root and the other class mates and yet not one person remembers Barak H. Obama.

He said when they had their 20 year reunion, Who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Root, not one person knew Barack Obama, never met him or ever heard of him.

There are no former roomates, no former friends, nothing to verify that he was ever there.

What some of the investigators think is that Obama may of attended Occidental College for a short while then went to New York and that is where he met Bill Ayers and they because of their close nit ideals became very close friends and still are to this very day.

Is there anyone out there that remembers Barack H. Obama attending Columbia University?

George Washington’s Tear-Jerker

CIVILIAN control of the military is a cherished principle in American government. It was President Obama who decided to increase our involvement in Afghanistan, and it is Congress that will decide whether to appropriate the money to carry out his decision. It is the president and Congress, not the military, that will decide whether our laws should be changed to allow gays and lesbians to serve in our armed forces. The military advises, but the civilian leadership decides.

Yet if not for the actions of George Washington, whose birthday we celebrate, sort of, this month, America might have moved in a very different direction.

In early 1783, with Revolutionary War victory in sight but peace uncertain, Washington and the Continental Army bivouacked at Newburgh, N.Y. Troops were enraged by Congress’s failure to provide promised back pay and pensions. Rumors of mutiny abounded.

snip

Washington then opened a letter from a sympathetic congressman, but soon appeared to grow distracted. As his men wondered what was wrong, Washington pulled out a pair of glasses, which even his officers had never seen before. “Gentlemen,” he said, “you must pardon me, for I have grown not only gray but blind in the service of my country.”

The officers were stunned. Many openly wept. Their mutinous mood gave way immediately to affection for their commander.

Donald Trump is not a big believer in global warming.

”With the coldest winter ever recorded, with snow setting record levels up and down the coast, the Nobel committee should take the Nobel Prize back from Al Gore,” the tycoon told members of his Trump National Golf Club in Westchester in a recent speech.

“Gore wants us to clean up our factories and plants in order to protect us from global warming, when China and other countries couldn’t care less. It would make us totally noncompetitive in the manufacturing world, and China, Japan and India are laughing at America’s stupidity.”

The crowd of 500 stood up and cheered.

Ann Coulter has referred to VP Joe Biden as a “drunken Irishman” not once, but two, extremely enjoyable times in a debate with former Howard Dean campaign manager Joe Trippi over the Obama White House’s reactionary attitude of dispensing Joe Biden to counter Cheney’s criticism of Obama’s failed terror policies. Appearing as a panelist on Jerry River’s (that’s Geraldo Rivera to you and me) Sunday night show on FNC, Coulter delivered the spot-on description of Biden in the broader context of his effectiveness and credibility as someone the White House would choose to discredit Cheney. Clearly, Coulter was less than impressed with the VP, and his long, almost endless list of infamous gaffes just lends her credibility about the state of his sobriety as it relates to political debate.

QUANTICO, Va. – Retired Admiral and former U.S. Sen. Jeremiah Denton had some tough words in the mess hall of the National Museum of the Marine Corps, packed with fellow servicemen, including some who spent time with him as a prisoner of war in the Hanoi Hilton.

In an emotional speech last night about his newly updated classic work, “When Hell Was in Session,” Denton said he feared the imminent death of the United States of America due to immorality, lack of patriotism and lack of appreciation for the unique form of government bestowed by the country’s founders.

“When Hell Was in Session” was first released in 1976 after Denton’s return from Vietnam where he was held as a prisoner of war for seven years and seven months – much of that time in solitary confinement and enduring torture. The book was re-released in 2009 – updated with Denton’s recollections of what happened upon his return to America, his election to the U.S. Senate and the role he played with Ronald Reagan in ending the Cold War.

Mitch McConnell, the Kentucky Republican who is working successfully—yet with surprisingly little personal notoriety—to bury the Barack Obama presidency in an unplowed cul-de-sac called the U.S. Senate. As the GOP leader there, McConnell strands Democrats in snowdrifts of parliamentary procedure and nasty talking points. “We are not just reflexively looking for areas where there will be no progress,” he assured me. Having spent many years listening to McConnell, I can translate: he is reflexively looking for areas where there will be no progress.

Confirmed – Obama Is
Zbigniew Brzezinski Puppet

Commentary
By Webster Tarpley
3-21-8
Any lingering doubts about Obama’s status as an abject puppet of Zbigniew Brzezinski and the Rockefeller Trilateral Commission ended this morning when the withered mummy of imperialism himself appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe* to campaign for Obama, urged on by his own moronic daughter, Mika Brzezinski, an Obama groupie and sycophant.
Zbigniew, a low-level Polish aristocrat whose life has been devoted to hatred for Russia, lauded Obama for his 2002 speech opposing the Iraq war, saying that he himself was the source of Obama’s arguments back then – thus confirming Obama’s long-term status as his puppet, which probably began in 1981-1983, when Obama was a student at Columbia University, and Zbig was directing the anti-Russian institute.
The aging revanchist showed all the misogynism of his szachta origins with a scurrilous attack on Sen. Clinton as a mere housewife, a Mamie Eisenhower running against charismatic a JFK played by Zbig’s own Manchurian candidate, and as a woman whose foreign policy experience was worth as much as that of Zbig’s own travel agent.

I already wrote to you on this matter. I don’t know how well you may know Webster Tarpley. He is very highly-regarded, and rightly I think, for his book, “The Unauthorized Biography of George Bush,” and for his work on 9-11, especially in revealing the nature of “Able Danger” as the covert basis for establishing the pretext of Islamic high-jackers.

He has been a fierce critic of the Clinton’s in the past. He has been the fiercest critic of the Bushes.

And yet, like me, he finds himself encouraging people to pull out all the stops in opposing Obama, including supporting Hillary. I asked him “Do you mean to say that informed people must support Hillary?” He wrote back:

Voting is the least of it – vote against Obama in whatever way is most congenial to you. But voting is the beginning of political activity only and not the sum total of it. What you need to do is call in to talk radio of all sorts — Air America, right wingers, anybody and everybody, and denounce obama as a puppet Manchurian candidate controlled from behind the scenes by Brzezinski. I suggest you take that YouTube video you sent me and blast it out to your entire list in ways that you never thought possible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9P15YZrnv0

In other words, get political in the full sense of the word. -WGT

I thought I’d share Tarpley’s research and the basis of his conclusions regarding Obama. He is scared ****less, or he would not possibly be able to advocate supporting Clinton.

I’m reminded of 2000 when I ran around desperately arguing with intelligent people that Bush was a fascist, and that people should support Gore, not Nader, or sit idly by.

At the risk of sounding immodest, Jonathan Kay is writing his Harper Collins book because of me. He tried taking on 9/11 Truthers back in ‘08 and I eviscerated him in an email. Well he showed up for some “field research” back in September and he didn’t seem interested in talking to anyone or seeing anything at all. Didn’t talk to Nick Carangi, the 25 year-old Temple University sociology grad student who founded Philly 9/11 Truth and received an infamous visit from the Secret Service. Didn’t hear from Craig Fitzgerald, a 14° Scottish Rite Mason. Reporting from Washington – As President Obama’s approval ratings sag and the mood of voters sours, some Democratic congressional candidates are distancing themselves from the White House, with the back-channel blessing of party officials. The candidates are positioning themselves as independent voices no less frustrated with the Obama administration than people back home. Rep. Dennis Cardoza, a Democrat who represents a California Central Valley district burdened by high unemployment and home foreclosures, said in an interview: “The Obama administration has failed miserably in trying to solve the problem.” Rep. Jim Costa, a Democrat who also represents California’s Central Valley, blames…

The United States is pressing for very tough new sanctions against Iran this month, a top US aide said Sunday, suggesting that the move could help bring about “regime change.” “We’re… going through the UN this month to present sanctions,” President Barack Obama’s national security advisor, retired general James Jones, told Fox News Sunday. While the US is not actively seeking to destabilize Iran, which has been rocked by months of anti-government protests since disputed elections last year, Jones said additional sanctions could nevertheless have that effect. “We know that internally there is a very serious problem. We’re about to…

Despite their mental incapacities, though, they are sure they are smarter, more civilized, and more tolerant than those they hate and all this they assume while they name-call everyone that disagrees with them.

President Obama decided it’s time to push the dictator button and tell the Legislature they’re expendable. Using the Old Gray Lady for softball coverage, the White House announced the President is prepared to use Executive fiat to advance his energy, environmental and fiscal policies. The Obama administration has announced it will now rule by fascist decree and ignore Congress and the American people.

“With much of his legislative agenda stalled in Congress, President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities,” reports The New York Times [1]. “We are reviewing a list of presidential executive orders and directives to get the job done across a front of issues,” said Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff who is fond of cracking his knuckles in Obama’s face [2].

According to The New York Times, ruling in authoritarian fashion is normal and acceptable. “Any president has vast authority to influence policy even without legislation, through executive orders, agency rule-making and administrative fiat.”

First, let me wish our former President a speedy recovery. I’ve never been a fan of the “Clinton brand” of politics (or Clinton-styled policy). But the “Clinton brand” sure was different from what we know today. Today, Americans contend with an Obama Administration that will not (or cannot) tell us what happened to $787 billion of our tax dollars that were appropriated in a “stimulus bill,” but is nonetheless intent on spending an…

A rather interesting display of political satire in the form of an impressive work of art has surfaced calling attention to the fact that Barack Obama is the ‘emperor who has no clothes.’

This ingenious portrait of ‘the party’ and all of its guests is enough to set the Leftwing ablaze for quite some time. Be sure to move the cursor over the heads of the images to view what each person is saying.

‘Impeach Obama’ billboard along highway 41

OSHKOSH – A controversial billboard along Highway 41 is catching people’s attention. It calls for President Obama to be removed from office.

“The sign kind of struck me as being very forceful. I was driving up to Green Bay this morning and saw it. It just surprised me that a sign like that would be out there, that blatant,” said Gary Fox, of Waukesha.

Fox said he agrees with the ‘Impeach Obama’ billboard. The tagline is: ‘America’s small businesses are failing, help us spread the message.’

“I just think what Obama is doing and the whole administration and the Democratic Congress is just bad for business when you look at the deficits and everything they’re doing,” said Fox.

Jones Sign Company said the billboard went up on Thursday. So, who paid for it?

FOX 11 went looking and it turns out it wasn’t a group of small business owners. It was Tom Wroblewski, an attorney in Menasha.

When we stopped at his office, he told us he isn’t ready to talk about it. Democrats, on the other hand, are ready to talk.

“I don’t know what’s impeachable about having a bad opinion about the President. I know a lot of people that would have impeached the last one,” said Jef Hall, the chairman of the Winnebago County Democratic Party.

Hall argues President Obama’s economic policies are helping small businesses.

“I can point to, here in Winnebago County, several businesses that are receiving contracts because of the stimulus plan,” said Hall.

Both sides say the sign does grab your attention; they just disagree on whether it serves any purpose.

Those who want to take a look will have some time. The billboard will be up for at least six months, at a cost of $1,000 a month.

There’s a particular expression that Wile. E. Coyote used to have, as he stood helpless under the falling boulder of his own making, that Debra Medina’s people might want to consider for their next campaign logo.

In case you’ve been living under a snow bank lately (oh wait) the Cliff Notes go like this:

To the Left, it’s further proof that Tea Partiers are out there with Pluto. To Medina supporters and some others it’s proof that Beck was lying in ambush and perhaps flew one of the planes into the towers himself.

Sarah Palin Isn’t Cooperating
American Thinker ^ | February 13, 2010 | Phil Boehmke

Posted on Saturday, February 13, 2010 3:38:27 PM by rhema

e One of the things that the Obama administration and the Main Stream Media really hate about Sarah Palin is her unwillingness to cooperate. Even when she gets caught on camera during a speech with “Energy”, “Tax” and most damning of all “Lift American Spirits” written in her own hand on her own hand, she refuses to cooperate.

After the palm-gate story broke, Obama’s inner circle more than likely consulted their most holy of holy texts to devise a cunning strategy in their ongoing war against Sarah. There on pages 137-8 of the sacred “Rules For Radicals” by Saul Alinsky was the answer that Team Obama was looking for.

It should be remembered that you can threaten the enemy and get away with it. You can insult and annoy him, but the one thing that is unforgivable and that is certain to get him to react is to laugh at him. This causes an irrational anger.

Bingo! We have a winner! Robert Gibbs, the comic genius of the future former president’s staff would get to deliver the blow. The UK Guardian reports.

The White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, said he also had something written down on his hand. Breaking off from a question on healthcare reform, he said he planned to make pancakes for his son if the snow in Washington continued. “I wrote ‘eggs’, ‘milk’, ‘bread’, but I crossed out ‘bread’. Then I wrote down ‘hope’ and ‘change’, in case I forgot.”

The increasingly irrelevant MSM was delighted by Mr. Gibbs cutting edge (not to mention topical) humor. All that remained for Team Obama to do was just to wait for Sarah to react with “irrational anger” in fulfillment of Saul Alinsky’s prophecy.

O.K., lights, camera, action! Again the UK Guardian provides the play by play.

Full credit to Palin for making fun of the whole thing. In her next public appearance-backing Texas governor Rick Perry in the Republican primary against Senator Kay Bailey-Hutchinson-Palin showed up with the words “Hi Mom!” clearly written on her palm. At least she’s got a sense of humor.

Obviously Sarah had failed to cooperate with the Alinsky plan. No “irrational anger” was forthcoming, she countered the strategic mocking of Obama’s crew and the MSM with genuine good humor. What do you do with someone who can laugh at themselves?

Its not Conspiracy Theory [1]
Saturday, February 13th, 2010
I used to be a big fan of Glen Beck. I thought here is a guy, first on CNN/Headline News and then FOX News, as well as his massive mainstream radio show, telling it like it really is without most of the Politically Correct spin and party politics pandering that we are all so used to.

He seemed to champion the growing awakening known to a significant percentage of the American people and felt by many many more who know that something is very wrong with the two political dinosaurs known as the Republicans and the Democrats.

This awakening is what started so many different Liberty movements, such as all the separate & diverse Tea Party groups that started popping up all over the nation. So called liberals & conservatives both woke up to the false Left-Right Paradigm and left the 2 party system behind.

They understood that the elites from the 2 party system and the mainstream media have scientifically designed this system to control us by keeping us, the masses so busy bickering over relatively petty differences between left and right that most of us didn’t realize that both the 2 parties and mainstream media (MSM) all play for the same team in reality.

They know this and it has been terrifying them since at least 2007 when they all started talking about the Great Banker Bailouts. And as the MSM and 2 party elites seemed to put aside their so-called differences just long enough to agree that $780 billion of the Americans money was needed to stop a collapse of the economy so bad it was depression level.

Dont trust Glen Beck, he is bought and paid for controlled opposition 190110banner4 [2]

But as a nation, we collectively did not take the bait and screamed out NO to our elected representative’s via letters to the editor, emails, mail, and even better in person at townhall meetings and they heard us the first time and did not pass the bailout bill…until after the November elections.

And this is where the charlatan Glen Beck comes in. As I was saying before, it seemed like he had his fingers on the pulse of this movement and would repeat what the people in the awakened Liberty movement were saying, that the 2 party system is corrupt and that the bankers were greedy risk takers that lost to many gambles and that they should suck it up.

Tea Party sociology — a shift in the culture
The Times of Trenton ^ | February 13, 2010

The emerging groundswell of what Berkeley Professor of Public Policy Robert Reich recently referred to as the “mad-as-hell” political party reached a tipping point last week in its inaugural national convention in Nashville. Coalescing from a fractious and haphazard collection of right-wing tax-haters, the rapidly evolving Tea Party now includes big-business-hating Democrats and the increasingly powerful independents who are suffering from a significant case of buyer’s remorse.

Tea Partiers are meeting in homes and church basements from New Jersey to Oregon. In fact, according to the Liberty First PAC website, there are already 10 confirmed Tax Day Tea Party rallies scheduled for the Garden State. This isn’t an anomaly. New Jersey’s dense population base and nation-leading property-tax rate make it an ideal breeding ground for the Tea Party revolt. This quintessentially American development follows a fairly simple sociological formula: Spurious Leaders + Furious Followers = Power Redistribution.

The transfer of power from one chief executive to another in this country is a thing of beauty. It is a remarkable process and the envy of many governments around the world. However, while the country is adept at individual leader interchange, it is not nearly as accomplished at adjusting its supporting political infrastructure: the dual party system. The Tea Party’s emergence on a national level is significant because it signals drastic potential shifts in power within American society. Coming on the heels of what Gallup described as the most polarizing first year ever for an American presidency, the compelling question the Tea Party’s existence begs us to ask is: From what sociological ashes does this new organization arise?

SANTA CRUZ — The man who opened the door of an Ocean Street hotel room offered a deadpan introduction. “I’m Charles Lindbergh Jr. Please, come in.” Immaculately dressed in suspenders, a starched white shirt, tie and gray dress slacks, the 79-year-old launched into detailed stories of a troubled childhood and why people should believe he’s the son of Col. Charles A. Lindbergh — aka “Lucky Lindy,” the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic in the famed Spirit of St. Louis. “We are reviewing a list of presidential executive orders and directives to get the job done across a front of issues,” said Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff. Any president has vast authority to influence policy even without legislation, through executive orders, agency rule-making and administrative fiat. And Mr. Obama’s success this week in pressuring the Senate to confirm 27 nominations by threatening to use his recess appointment power demonstrated that executive authority can also be leveraged to force action by Congress. “If the stalling tactics continue,” said Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, “he’s not ruling…

Here is video of former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton on Fox and Friends today, where he said the case for striking Iran is growing. Bolton said Iran’s radical Islamic regime sent signals this week that they are still firmly in control, as they kept protests to a minimum on the day Ahmadinejad announced they had successfully enriched uranium. He made the announcement on the 31st anniversary of the “Islamic Revolution” in Iran. Bolton said he believes the “pre-emptive use of military force” is the only way to prevent Iran from obtaining Nuclear Weapons. Since Bolton believes there is “zero likelihood”…

Gunny G: WHAT HAPPENED ON ON SURIBACHI THAT DAY…

Of the two photos above, the one of the NYC firemen raising the flag  at the site of the WTC after the 9/11 attack is now well known.

The other photo, however, is not so well known. That photo is one of the photos by Leatherneck magazine photographer, S/Sgt Lou Lowery, taken on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima on 23 February 1945, of the actual flag raising there at about 1020 on that morning.

Lowery had accompanied 1/Lt. Harold G. Schrier and his 40-man combat patrol (Easy Company, 2ndBn, 28th Marines), up the hill to raise our national colors; this was the first time in 2,000 years that a foreign flag had been raised on the Japanese homeland.

Later that same day, a larger, “replacement” flag was substituted for  the original, and was photographed at that time by Joe Rosenthal; and it was that photo that soon became famous as The Iwo Jima Flag Raising.

The WTC Flag picture, above, has recently appeared many times displayed  together with Rosenthal’s photo, but I have never seen it in combination with the genuine article by Lowery, therefore, I think that this combination of photos above is more appropriate, and each photo complements the other most fully. .

WHO RAISED THAT FLAG ON IWO JIMA?

In what amounts to a political street fight, the Senate Republican minority has pushed Obama hard in its rebuke of the nomination of Craig Becker. Becker, a pro-labor nominee to the NRLB, saw his nomination come to a screeching halt last Tuesday. Republicans, joined by conservative Democrats, defeated an effort to allow the nomination process to move forward. Now the administration is pushing back, indicating a willingness to consider a recess appointment to place Becker at the NRLB and bypass a Senate confirmation vote.

We Picked the Wrong Roman Dictator
RealClearMarkets ^ | 02/13/2010 | Bill Flax

Posted on Saturday, February 13, 2010 11:33:03 AM by SeekAndFind

From Government Square in Cincinnati, I often sit surrounded by impressive displays of federal invasiveness, and muse that we picked the wrong Roman dictator.

The Federal Building across the street, serving primarily to dispense largesse confiscated from the workers packed into the square below. The brilliantly marbled Federal Reserve branch where regulators seek enhanced power to oversee commerce while recoiling vigorously against any attempt to be scrutinized themselves. And the block long Federal Court House, which unlike the others, has constitutional legitimacy even as its reach and depth far surpass anything our founders would have tolerated.

Taking nothing away from the many hard-working and honorable souls inhabiting these structures, but America has lost its way. My hometown was named for the Society of the Cincinnati. In ancient Rome, citizen-general Cincinnatus put down his plow to save his nation. When the battle was won, he declined a crown and returned to his farm. His self-restraint in the face of overwhelming temptation bequeathed to Rome several centuries of limited, republican government.

George Washington exhibited similar virtue after our independence. He too could have been king, but his self-denial enabled the rule of law to triumph over the rule of men. Our revolution was largely fought to settle the timeless question of whether government is answerable to the law protecting the rights of its constituents – or – are the people subject to government with a malleable Constitution bending to political pleasure.

America once enjoyed a constitutional republic where property rights were sacrosanct, contracts were conscientiously enforced and markets prevailed. Secure property rights channeled our energies into productive enterprise via the profit motive. An impartial application of the law encouraged market development which enhanced specialization and America’s hallmark: an innovative spirit propelling higher living standards for all.

Freedom and prosperity are inexorably linked. Government constrained by law and limited by checks and balances, between both branches and levels of government, birthed an economic juggernaut. Yet, another Roman general has indirectly put a more pronounced stamp on our economy.

Fabius was called to confront Hannibal after the Carthaginian warlord destroyed several Roman armies. Recognizing Hannibal was too strong to confront directly, Fabius conducted a masterful war of attrition. When Hannibal advanced, Fabius retreated. When Hannibal retreated, Fabius advanced always staying safely distant, but close enough to harass the invader. Several times the citizenry grew impatient only for a replacement to hurl the Roman army headlong into calamity.

These “Fabian” tactics became the archetype for a group of sophisticates in late Victorian England. The Fabian Society believed in socialism, not coming by revolution as Marx envisioned, but by evolution. Bored by leisure and rebelling against the strict mores of the time, they sought not to directly confront the existent order, but to undermine it from within.

As prominent Fabian George Bernard Shaw explained, “The Fabian Society succeeded because it … set about doing the necessary brain work of planning Socialist organization for all classes, meanwhile accepting, instead of trying to supersede, the existing political organizations which it intended to permeate with the Socialist conception of human society.”

These ungrateful children of wealth advocated redistribution of other’s property while they resided in luxury. Similar to many intellectuals today, they thought they knew better than we how to live our lives. Unfortunately, Fabians and their ilk became the dominant force in our media and educational establishments, indoctrinating generations of Americans to a perverted view of economics and “social justice.”

The Fabian movement spawned John Maynard Keynes, an advocate of central economic planning. The overriding focus of Keynes’ theory was Aggregate Demand. Loosely defined, aggregate demand reflects the total amount of goods and services consumed at a stable price. Borrowing and spending supplanted classical economic focus on production and savings as the building blocks of prosperity.

Keynesianism was described by Zygmund Dobbs in the illuminating expose, Keynes at Harvard, “The great virtue is consumption, extravagance, improvidence. The great vice is saving, thrift and ‘financial prudence’” because, “If there are no savings there is no private money for investment. Without private investors the government must provide investment capital. If the government provides for investment it has the power to dictate the conduct and processes of those who need investment capital.”

Americans wanting to mollify temporary hardship in the throes of recession resurrected Keynes. Rather than endure uncomfortable surgery guided by the market, government injects cortisone to offset the recession’s corrective reallocations. Subsidies replace efficiency. Bailouts replace business revitalization. Entitlements replace personal savings. Statism replaces self-reliance. All these government proffered “solutions” may ease our immediate discomfort, but perpetuate economic weakness and come at the price of liberty.

Not only is it immoral to confiscate private property through coercion to redistribute to political favorites, it’s also ineffective. Market distortions inevitably harm the economy. The more control we retain over our time, resources and abilities the more closely our efforts will be aligned with productive enterprise. A far-off central planner has no ability to effectively steer this process.

We have witnessed Washington assume greater control with each injection of dubious capital. As Henry Hazlitt warned, “Keynes’s plan for ‘the socialization of investment’ would inevitably entail socialism and state planning. Keynes, in brief, recommended de facto socialism under the guise of ‘reforming’ and ‘preserving’ capitalism.”

In the closing months of his presidency, Bush crossed the Rubicon authoring vast intrusions “to save” capitalism. Bush quickened what had been a long, painstaking march to socialism. Then a new Caesar immediately began to sprint. We elected not “change,” but acceleration.

Only eunuchs were permitted to guard the harem. Entrusting power to the ambitious personalities attracted to government inevitably augments the state to our detriment. Keynes admitted his theories, “can be much easier adapted to the conditions of a totalitarian state than … a large degree of laissez-faire.” We must never abjure our God-given rights to the arbitrary whim of professional politicians in exchange for economic safety-nets.

There’s an old adage, ”He who owns the gold, makes the rules.” Since the TARP bailout, Stimulus and the 2010 budget, the U.S. national debt has soared to almost $12.4 Trillion under President Obama and Congressional Democrats. A debt so high every taxpayer is liable for more than $113,000. Note I said taxpayer because, although the debt per citizen breaks out to a little over $40,000, only taxpayers bear the actual burden of repayment. And how do we repay it? More taxes. $12.4 Trillion in debt is extraordinary, but things aren’t always as they seem. Sometimes they’re actually worse. Today…

The Founders of our Republic did a truly amazing job in the creation of the Constitution. James Madison, writing as “Publius” in Federalist #10: “The federal Constitution forms a happy combination in this respect; the great and aggregate interests being referred to the national, the local and particular to the State legislatures.” He obviously did not anticipate the never ending debasement of the Tenth Amendment, but was fully aware of the danger of “factions” (political parties, etc.) and their ability…

Census 2010: Up to 800 Canvassers With Criminal Records
biggovernment.com ^ | 02/13/10 | Bob McCarty

Posted on Saturday, February 13, 2010 12:24:36 AM by American Dream 246

Despite reports last fall that the Census Bureau had severed ties with community-organizing group known as ACORN, Americans might want to think twice before opening their doors to canvassers for the 2010 Census after reading what I discovered this morning.

According to a report issued by the Government Accountability Office Oct. 7, approximately 785 employees with disqualifying criminal records could still end up working for the Census Bureau this year. Excerpts (below) show the exact wording of the agency’s frightening information about the people who go door to door conducting interviews and collecting information for the 2010 Census:

The Bureau’s efforts to fingerprint employees, which was required as part of a criminal background check, did not proceed smoothly, in part because of training issues. As a result, over 35,000 temporary census workers — over a fifth of the address canvassing workforce — were hired despite the fact that their fingerprints could not be processed and they were not fully screened for employment eligibility.

…of the prints that could be processed, fingerprint results identified 1,800 temporary workers (1.1 percent of total hires) with criminal records that name check alone failed to identify. Of the 1,800 workers with criminal records, approximately 750 (42 percent) were terminated or were further reviewed because the Bureau determined their criminal records — which included crimes such as rape, manslaughter, and child abuse — disqualified them from census employment.

…we estimate that approximately 785 employees with unclassifiable prints could have disqualifying criminal records but still end up working for the Bureau In addition to the news about the criminal element aspect of the 2010 Census, the 2009 report contained an estimate of the total cost of the 2010 Census being some $3.4 billion higher than the estimate in a 2006 GAO report.

Drew had just graduated from Occidental and was attending graduate school at Cornell University. During Christmas break, Drew says he was at Grauman-Boss’ home in Palo Alto when Obama came over with Mohammed Hasan Chandoo, his roommate from Pakistan. “Barack [Obama] and Hasan showed up at the house in a BMW, and then we went to a restaurant together,” Drew says. “We had a nice meal, and then we came…

“The most important political office is that of the private citizen”
Justice Louis D. Brandeis

Were it not clear before yesterday in the manner which Glenn Beck sandbagged and [2]set a trap [3] for surging [4] Texas gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina [5] who was rising in the polls [6] and closing in on [7] establishment insiders Rick Perry [8] and Kay Bailey Hutchinson [9], it should be clear now that Glenn Beck [2] is an inside job [10], an establishment status quo shill masquerading [11] and posing as a revolutionary. His job is to obfuscate the truth, to serve as an outlet for the supremely misguided and ill informed in America, a master manipulator [12], a minister of disinformation and propaganda telling authorized truths [13] as a card carrying member of America’s propaganda matrix [14].

The original Tea Party Movement [15] which coalesced around the candidacy of Ron Paul [16] was hijacked [17] and infiltrated [18] by Neocon’s [19] who have built a front around Republican Establishment insiders and put forth folks like Sarah Palin [20], Rick Perry et al etc. who are not Tea Party Constitutionalists [17] to distract the original goals of the movement to lead it down a path of irrational behavior which can easily be discredited [21]. You can thank Palin’s sponsor [22], William H. Kristol [23] of The Weekly Standard [24] and one of the principal co-founders of The Project for the New American Century [25] (”PNAC”) for the rise of an agent of distraction in the form of Sarah Palin [26]. While he lurks in the shadows his puppets do the work of diluting, discrediting the truly independent voices representing the heart and soul of America, voices like Debra Medina [5] who is the Tea Party candidate for Governor in Texas. Beck’s antics or so called “mad genius” [27] may have thrown a monkey wrench [28] into the candidacy of Debra Medina [5], if only because from Beck [29]operates from the confines of a more powerful platform [30] than any one candidate. Until 9/11 the McCarthy era [31] was a period of history that I understood only from history books, the History Channel [32] and Hollywood movies. It was a period of American history that seemed so unbelievable and unlikely to ever happen again, given the lessons one would assume that we would have learned from it. That is until a new McCarthyism [33] was ushered in during the Bush/Cheney [34] era and has continued [35] to this day [36] by folks like Glenn Beck [37].

The attack dog corporate media, in cahoots with loathsome phony neo-con crybaby Glenn Beck, are once again attempting to manufacture reality by smearing Debra Medina for expressing a view shared by the vast majority of Americans in an effort to purge her from the Texas gubernatorial race.

Fox News blowhard Glenn Beck attempted to set up Medina on his radio show yesterday by asking her if she believed the U.S. government was involved in 9/11.

“I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard,” Medina said. “There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there, so I have not taken a position on that.”

Medina’s response was measured and even less vehement that than six of the ten 9/11 commissioners [2], who have all gone on the record to discuss how the government lied about the official story.

Furthermore, in merely refusing to completely accept the official version of events, Medina stands firmly with the majority of Americans. An October 2006 CBS/New York Times poll [3] found that only 16% of Americans thought the government told the truth about 9/11 and the intelligence prior to the attacks. Medina is in agreement with no less than 84% of Americans who do not readily accept the official story as true.

    The Post & Email ^ | Feb. 12, 2010 | Sharon Rondeau
American Grand Jur has announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with Dr. James David Manning, Pastor of ATLAH Ministries and outspoken Obama critic, to assist with a trial and grand jury hearing to be held at ATLAH Ministries, 38 West 123rd Street, ATLAH (Harlem), New York, this spring. The focus will be Columbia University, which Obama claims as his alma mater but Manning contends Obama never attended. Dr. Manning has stated he has evidence that university officials sold Obama a Political Science degree and are therefore complicit in a cover-up of Obama’s true past. The trial will…

Nothing the National Park Service (NPS) proposes ever surprises me, and neither did this latest article published in the February issue of BioScience magazine, which NPS researchers foster reintroducing wolves at many sites across the country. Dan Licht, NPS biologist for the Northern Plains Region led a team of five researchers who authored the paper published in BioScience. He is quoted by the Associated Press as saying, “If there’s lots of food, they’re happy … an intensively managed dozen, ten (wolves) — we think that is doable with today’s technology.” Licht predicts that wolves could become “stewards” in keeping game…

Being born in the United States does not even make one a ‘NATIVE’ citizen. Immigration and Citizenship: Process and Policy fourth edition Under Jus Soli, the following is written “The Supreme Court’s first holding on the sublect suggested that the court would give a restrictive reading to the phrase, potentially disqualifing significant number of persons born within the physical boundries of the nation. In Elk v. Wilkins 112 U.S. 94, 5 S.CT. 41, 28 L.ED. 643 (1884), the court ruled that native Indians were not U.S. citizens, even if they later severed their ties with their tribes. • How to destroy a soldier’s life

I came across an article on Salon entitled “How to leave a soldier” that has apparently been making ripples across the blogosphere. It absolutely infuriated me, and I knew I had to write about it. Before I get into the article, though, let me explain some things in the interest of full disclosure. My significant other is a Marine. We live together in North Carolina while he’s stationed at Camp Lejeune. The first year of our relationship was long distance, with him in North Carolina and me in Florida. We’re together now, but the Corps brings us apart occasionally for…

Scientists have identified areas of the brain that, when damaged, lead to greater spirituality. The findings hint at the roots of spiritual and religious attitudes, the researchers say. The study, published in the Feb. 11 issue of the journal Neuron, involves a personality trait called self-transcendence, which is a somewhat vague measure of spiritual feeling, thinking, and behaviors. Self-transcendence “reflects a decreased sense of self and an ability to identify one’s self as an integral part of the universe as a whole,” the researchers explain. Before and after surgery, the scientists surveyed patients who had brain tumors removed. The surveys…

Sen. Kit Bond (R.-Mo.), the vice chairman of the Senate intelligence committee, told bloggers on a conference call on Wednesday, Feb. 3, that the Obama administration still had not provided his committee with all the information it had requested on the November terrorist attack at Fort Hood in Texas. “They still haven’t come through with all the information that we need,” Sen. Bond said. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R.-Mich.), the ranking Republican on the House intelligence committee, issued two statements in January complaining that the administration had not been forthcoming on information about the Fort Hood attack. Hoekstra also pointed to…

The Washington Times is adding ACORN to the list of outrageous earmarks in Obama’s fiscal 2011 budget. ACORN, the embezzlement-prone, voter-registration-fraud-plagued, leftist community organizing group, is slated to receive nearly $4 billion from a taxpayer-funded slush fund. The money will come from the Community Development Block Grant, one of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s longest-running programs. The HUD Web site cryptically defines the grant’s purpose as providing “communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs,” not a reassuring description given the group’s recent past history of aiding the community through gratuitous misappropriation of…
