In her bestselling End of America, Naomi Wolf outlines the 10 warning signs that America is headed toward a fascist takeover. Using historical precedents, she explains how our government is mimicking those of Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin through practices like surveillance of ordinary citizens, restricting the press, developing paramilitary forces and arbitrarily detaining people.

The book was lauded by liberals under Bush: the Independent Publishers gave it the Freedom Fighter Award; John Nichols at the Nation named it the most valuable political book of 2007. Now, under President Obama, Wolf’s book is providing ammunition for the Tea Partiers, Patriots, Ron Paul supporters and Oath Keepers, who also warn of impending tyrannical government. Even when the book first came out pre-Obama, Alex Jones, Michael Savage and Fox News invited her on their shows, and agreed with her.

It’s not just her message. She speaks their language, referring to the Founding Fathers and American Revolution as models, admitting to a profound sense of fear, warning of tyranny, fascism, Nazism and martial law. When Glenn Beck warns of these things we laugh. When Wolf draws those same connections, we listen. How can both sides be speaking the same language, yet see things so differently? Laura Ingraham played a song about “the end is coming soon.” Our local conservative radio host, Bill Post on KYKN in Salem mentioned the “end of the world.” The March 22nd European Union Times says the world mourns as communist darkness falls upon America. www.eutimes.net Three days after the vote, President Obama was giving a speech mocking the opposition to his health care bill stating they think it is the end of the world – Revelation and Armageddon. Will pride be America’s downfall? But the scripture that came to my mind was Jeremiah 9:17 about cunning women and no one was more cunning than the Jezebel House Speaker Pelosi with that Healthcare vote. Jeremiah, the weeping prophet shares God’s heartbreak. He longed to get away into a wilderness place where he would hide and not have to see the sin of his people that was bringing his nation to ruin.

We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come. The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in. Before I get into the main premise of this article – I need to make two statements here. First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why – I don’t give a @!$%#. It doesn’t change the action.

The smartest genius President evah is nothing more than a carboard cutout. A fraud. Doesn’t exist. We don’t even know how he did in school because to this day his transcripts are sealed. Turns out now that when he was an instructor at the Chicago, his colleagues who were actual Professors didn’t like him and didn’t want him. Obama’s position was obtained through political channels.

Is the President’s resume accurate when it comes to his career and qualifications? I can corroborate that Obama’s “teaching career” at Chicago was, to put it kindly, a sham.

Here is Judge Andrew Napolitano on with Shepherd Smith to bring to light a little-known provision in the new ObamaCare Law that would authorize the President of the United States to create a 6,000 person “Health Care Reserve Corps.” Napolitano is concerned by the language used in the law, because it uses “military language” that is extremely vague. According to the Judge, it would allow the President to create this separate corps, or “army,” and the law says they will have the same training as the military. Napolitano said he does not believe the language of the provision is “well-intentioned” because of the use of the military terms.

Will it be easier to persuade people that Barack Obama is wrong on the issues or to try to convince them that he is outright evil?

That’s a crucial question facing conservatives as we gear up for fateful election battles in 2010 and 2012.

Based on human nature and political history, the answer to that question ought to be obvious: Americans have often felt that our leaders make mistakes or pursue destructive policies but we have rarely (if ever) believed that they did it deliberately to damage the country. This letter is my personal opinion, and is not meant to reflect the viewpoint of JPFO or its members.

Since the election of Barack Obama, Congress has twice blatantly demonstrated its total lack of concern for the will of the American people. First, the mind boggling and completely secret bank bailouts, and now the passage of so-called “health care reform”.

Sharing some of my present thoughts with you would have seemed overly alarmist on the day Obama was sworn into office. But now? Now there are urgent questions that must be asked.

With a few laudable exceptions, Senators and Representatives in Washington D.C. do not seem to care about the upcoming elections in November of this year. With a less than eleven percent approval rating from their constituency, these politicians, in normal times, would be cringing at the thought of going home to their own States and Districts to face the wrath of a furious American public.

But look how these arrogant politicians are behaving. They don’t seem to care. Were elections held tomorrow the bums would be tossed out … by the truckload.

And so, the question must be asked: Are there even going to be elections in 2010? And, if there are, will they be honest?

Somehow, I think people will miss this man more than the one featured in the “Miss Me Yet?” billboard that appeared outside the Twin Cities in Minnesota last month. Another anonymous advertisement has appeared on the roadside of a major interstate freeway in the outer-ring suburbs of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolis area, on I-94 just outside of Albertville on the way from St. Cloud to Minneapolis. This ad recalls a President that never got his due in Minnesota:

Who paid for this ad? There are no indications on the sign itself, just as with the previous “Miss Me Yet?” sign with George W. Bush. Ronald Reagan never won Minnesota in either of his two national elections, but clearly someone recalls him fondly. It’s not cheap to pay for this kind of advertising, and it would be interesting to discover who’s behind this one.

Sadly, too many in our country possess the superficial and ignorant perception that the only impetus behind southern secession was to perpetuate the abhorrent practice of slavery. My friend who sent me this gem, Dick Bachert of Atlanta, said it was too bad the author is unknown, but whoever the author, he deserves a Pulitzer for his brief but powerful insight. I would, however, dish up some blame not only for the public but for other groups as well.

Here’s the sort of BizarroWorld question normally reserved for the latter half of a season of 24, where Jack Bauer’s up against a corrupt, out of control President who’s committed murder, plotted against the Constitution, or has attempted to otherwise destroy the United States he or she swore to protect and defend.

We wonder if the President of the United States can ever legally be arrested for a crime.

We believe the current administration has already committed several instances of an arrestable offense: the attempted bribing, for political reasons, of various individuals using federal jobs as said bribes. This happened on at least two occasions: Joe Sestak, who the White House tried to bribe with the Secretary of the Navy position to stay out of Arlen Specter’s Senate race, and Andrew Romanoff, who the White House tried to bribe with a job in the Interior Department so he would stay out of the Colorado Senate race.

Someone in the White House, possibly Rahm Emanuel and/or David Axelrod, should do jail time for that.

But, we don’t think the chain of culpability on the bribes will ever lead right up to Dr. Utopia, the illustrious current president, himself.

Obama and his administration want to know and control everything;  namely us.  If given the chance,  Obama and his crew will morph into place a national ID Card for Workers under the guise of repairing and responding to the Immigration problem.

Now,  the push is on to quickly create a biometric card, which would have embedded information,  personal information and fingerprints.  Who cares about that old fossil….privacy rights.  This special and intrusive card would be forced on and used by ALL workers in America.  The recent Wall Street Journal article exposed this very thing.  It isn’t just Democrats who have lost their minds on this.  Senator’s Chuck Schumer (D) and Lindsey Graham (R)  are boldly leading this effort and want a bill signed soon.  In fact, they are planning to meet with Obama next week to update him on their work.  Isn’t this progressive and most special?

We have repeated the following phrase several times in our articles, since repetition seems to be the only way to get a message across.  “YOUR MONEY IS GOVERNMENT’S MAJOR POWER OVER YOU:  The first power that government has over you is YOUR perception that YOUR money is their money.

The second power that government has over you is by using the money they take from you by force, against you.

But, the third power that government has over you is that you will religiously obey their laws, no matter how many they pass, or how unconstitutional those laws may be.”

From another article we wrote:  “The consequence of too many laws is that huge segments of the public are totally unaware of their existence. And yet, under the law, ignorance of the law is not a defense.”

And speaking of too many laws, don’t you just love going to the airport and being treated like a criminal ….. or a terrorist?  Instead of taking care of the problem as the most powerful nation on Earth, we turn little old ladies into criminals, as they are forced to take their shoes off and are wanded all over their entire bodies.  Then there are the poor souls who have the misfortune of having had hip or knee replacements.  They are required to almost undress, while some gaping TSA agent scans every inch of their body and clothing and the immediate crowd gathers ‘round to watch the virtual undressing, all the while muttering to themselves, “thank God it wasn’t me.”

In the late 1990′s I managed a large portfolio for a German re-insurance company. I loved visiting my client in the quaint city of Cologne. Church bells, spires, street markets with handmade goods including colorful steins and wooden nutcrackers, baked goods that looked like works of art in shop windows. Though I was working I felt like I had been transported to a surreal fairyland. Except for one thing. The persistent double-digit unemployment.

I asked my client about the cause of Germany’s relentless unemployment. His reply? Why would business hire when we are forced by government to provide enormous benefits and little flexibility in firing poor performers? He explained further that it was better to hire consultants or temporary workers to fill in the gaps.

Over a stein later that afternoon he shared a personal story about his sister who was one of the permanently unemployed. She would have it no other way, he confided. Why would she? She received health care benefits and a monthly check from the government and she didn’t have to work.

Looks to me like that is where we are headed. In 2007, according to the National Taxpayers Union, an independent, non-partisan organization, the top 1% of earners paid 40.42% of all taxes. The top 50% paid 97.11%. In other words virtually 50% of all American households paid no income tax. 50%. Yet they vote. And they vote regularly on the local level and through their representatives on a federal level on the question of taxes. This is exactly what the Founders wanted to guard against when they wrote the Constitution.

James Madison warns in Federalist 10: “The apportionment of taxes on the various descriptions of property is an act which seems to require the most exact impartiality; yet there is, perhaps no legislative act in which greater opportunity and temptation are given to a predominant party to trample on the rules of justice. Every shilling with which they overburden the inferior number, is a shilling saved to their own pockets.” (emphasis mine.)

Enter Obama and his hostile takeover of health care, despite the will of the people set firmly against him. Another effort to take a shilling out of your pocket and put into another–in this case Obama’s. The following facts are excerpted from the January 13th speech delivered by Paul Ryan, a member of Congress and a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee.

“In 1966 the cost of Medicare to the taxpayers was about $3 billion. The House Ways and Means Committee estimated that it would cost $12 billion (adjusted for inflation) by 1990. The actual cost in 1990 was nearly nine times that–$107 billion. By 2009 Medicare costs reached $427 billion, with Medicaid boosting that by an additional $225 billion.”

“…The federal takeover of health care…would subsume approximately one-sixth of our national economy. Combined with spending at all levels, government would then control about 50 percent of total national production.” (emphasis, again, mine)

That was my dad’s moral clarity and sharp, quick-witted way with words; and the sacred values that spawned those words made a profound impression on me from the moment of my birth. There is a great divide in American politics. It’s not between Democrats and Republicans. It’s between the president and Congress in Washington, on one side, and governors and legislators around the country on the other.

The record of the Washington politicians is summarized in the report that came out of the Congressional Budget Office last week. That nonpartisan scorekeeper announced that it projects the cumulative national debt to increase in the next decade by $9.8 trillion.

That unimaginable (and indigestible) sum is more than a trillion dollars higher than the Obama administration’s estimate. It means a lower future standard of living for Americans because of vastly increased debt.

As Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the senior Republican on the House Budget Committee, pointed out in his commentary on the CBO report, it projects the annual cost of interest on the debt to rise from $209 billion this year to $916 billion by 2020.

Years ago some conservative commentator made the statement that “the best way to read the newspaper is between the lines.” He was trying to say a couple things. One of them was that often what the media writers leave out is more important than what they tell us.

He was also saying that, if you know how the read the papers, when you see an article, you can often tell by the way it’s written what is actually being said–and you can often tell when the truth is being obfuscated. You can often tell when a certain “spin” is being put on the event in question.

I’ll use a recent AP article about Obama’s “health care” plan to illustrate this. Anyone who has followed national events recently has to have watched the Obama/Pelosi/Reid dog and pony show as this dynamic trio went through every political gyration possible to get this health care “reform” package passed into law. Despite the best laid plans and efforts of mice, socialists, and others, they haven’t been able to get it done when they wanted it done (Christmas Eve). They were going to give us all a nice little Marxist health care plan for our Christmas present (to them). Like Christmas dinner, the plan was a real turkey and it’s had lots of opposition, most of it from the American people who, thanks to Obama’s unceasing efforts, are finally beginning to recognize blatant socialism when they see it, much to Obama’s chagrin.

The White House is hitting back against criticism from Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. on Tuesday, when he complained about the political scene surrounding the State of the Union speech when President Obama criticized a Supreme Court decision on campaign financing.

Mr. Roberts told a University of Alabama audience that the setting at the joint session of Congress degenerated into a pep rally, which he found “very troubling.” Mr. Obama had directly singled out a recent ruling, known as Citizens United, that lifted restrictions on corporations and unions for election communications.

The White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, fired back: “What is troubling is that this decision opened the floodgates for corporations and special interests to pour money into elections – drowning out the voices of average Americans. The president has long been committed to reducing the undue influence of special interests and their lobbyists over government. That is why he spoke out to condemn the decision and is working with Congress on a legislative response to close this loophole.”

Hidden from discussions about Reconciliation, 60-vote Senate super-majorities and the arcane rules of passing the same bad bill in both Houses of Congress, a more fundamental obstacle to socializing our medical system may soon emerge: the voters’ sovereignty. People may soon stop to ask whether passing Obama’s bill matters, considering what would likely happen after the President signs his landmark mistake.

Imagine that this sweeping healthcare abomination passes with zero votes from Republicans in the House and Senate. Never before has an important reform bill been passed in this manner. Heck, even the Civil Right laws of the 1960s were able to find some non-extremist Democrats to support them.

Assume further than the brain-dead Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and walking-argument-for-limiting-botox Speaker Nancy Pelosi pass a bill using every machination at their disposal. In November of this year the people will speak. My guess is that the people would elect Republicans into the majority in the House. The Senate is more difficult to change quickly, as only 1/3rd of the Senate is up for re-election every election cycle. Suffice it to say, the Senate would have a 50-50 chance of reverting to Republican control.

Since the healthcare reform begins collecting taxes in 2011, but only begins spending these taxes on universal healthcare in 2015, wouldn’t we have an opportunity to repeal Obamacare? We would not need a 2/3rds super-majority to override a Presidential veto, as Congress puts forth all spending bills.

Furthermore, any Democrats in the Senate who are up for re-election in 2012 would likely support this repeal after seeing the landslide against their party in 2010. Unlike now, by then few Democrats in Congress could be bought off easily by the Obama Administration, as it would seem likely that he is a one-termer . . .

Admittedly, I approached this article with a mixture of fear and anger. Setting aside these feelings and, valiantly I may add, resisting the urge to break something, I read. It was not until approximately 1/2 complete, that the actual story was revealed:

It occurs to me, that this statement encapsulates much of what I believe to be a the failings and ills of society today.

Gone are the days, if they once existed, of opinions rooted in fact and study. Regardless of your thought of socialism, should not an individual have, at the very least, a general understanding of an issue prior to lending their thoughts a voice? I cannot help but feel, that this seemingly minor issue, lies curled at the base of the majority of the problems we face as Americans today. The consistent failure, day in and out, to truly define that which you stand for and against has become an anchor on this great nation.

I suspect that most Americans, if asked whether these numbers trouble the Democratic leadership and President Obama, would answer in the affirmative.

They would be wrong.

They would be wrong not because the Democratic Party or the president are economically illiterate or bad individuals, but because the Democratic Party and the president are leftists. And most Americans, including most Democrats, do not understand the left. They may understand liberalism; but President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and most Democratic representatives and senators are not liberals; they are leftists. And most Americans do not understand the difference between liberal and left.

They do not realize, for example, that there is no major difference between the American Democratic Party and the leftist social democratic parties of Western Europe. They do not know that from Karl Marx to Obama, the left (as opposed to liberals) has never created wealth because it has never been interested in creating wealth; it is interested in redistributing wealth.

Since the establishment media is convinced that tea party members, 9/11 truthers, libertarians, Ron Paul supporters, and basically anyone with a dissenting political opinion is a likely domestic terrorist, they should be celebrating the fact that a new bill would allow the government to detain such people as “enemy belligerents” indefinitely and without trial based on their “suspected activity”.

The “Enemy Belligerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010,” introduced by Senators John McCain and Joseph Lieberman on Thursday with little fanfare, “sets out a comprehensive policy for the detention, interrogation and trial of suspected enemy belligerents who are believed to have engaged in hostilities against the United States by requiring these individuals to be held in military custody, interrogated for their intelligence value and not provided with a Miranda warning,” writes the Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder ^[2].

The bill does not distinguish between U.S. citizens and non-citizens, and states that “suspected belligerents” who are “considered a “high-value detainee” shall not be provided with a Miranda warning.”

A person is considered a “high value detainee” if they fulfil one of the following criteria.

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts said Tuesday the scene at President Obama’s State of the Union address was “very troubling” and the annual speech has “degenerated to a political pep rally.”

Obama chided the court, with the justices seated before him in their black robes, for its decision on a campaign finance case.

Responding to a University of Alabama law student’s question, Roberts said anyone was free to criticize the court, and some have an obligation to do so because of their positions.

“So I have no problems with that,” he said. “On the other hand, there is the issue of the setting, the circumstances and the decorum.

“The image of having the members of one branch of government standing up, literally surrounding the Supreme Court, cheering and hollering while the court — according the requirements of protocol — has to sit there expressionless, I think is very troubling.”

Breaking from tradition, Obama criticized the court’s decision that allows corporations and unions to freely spend money to run political ads for or against specific candidates.

“With all due deference to the separation of powers the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections,” Obama said in January.

Justice Samuel Alito was the only justice to respond at the time, shaking his head and mouthing the words “not true” as Obama continued.

Roberts told the students he wonders whether justices should attend the speeches.

“I’m not sure why we’re there,” said Roberts, a Republican nominee who joined the court in 2005.
