Naomi Wolf Thinks the Tea Parties Help Fight Fascism — Is She Onto Something or in Fantasy Land?

In her bestselling End of America, Naomi Wolf outlines the 10 warning signs that America is headed toward a fascist takeover. Using historical precedents, she explains how our government is mimicking those of Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin through practices like surveillance of ordinary citizens, restricting the press, developing paramilitary forces and arbitrarily detaining people.
The book was lauded by liberals under Bush: the Independent Publishers gave it the Freedom Fighter Award; John Nichols at the Nation named it the most valuable political book of 2007. Now, under President Obama, Wolf’s book is providing ammunition for the Tea Partiers, Patriots, Ron Paul supporters and Oath Keepers, who also warn of impending tyrannical government. Even when the book first came out pre-Obama, Alex Jones, Michael Savage and Fox News invited her on their shows, and agreed with her.
It’s not just her message. She speaks their language, referring to the Founding Fathers and American Revolution as models, admitting to a profound sense of fear, warning of tyranny, fascism, Nazism and martial law. When Glenn Beck warns of these things we laugh. When Wolf draws those same connections, we listen. How can both sides be speaking the same language, yet see things so differently? Or are we just not listening to each other? I telephoned Wolf to ask her what it means when your book ends up bolstering policies you oppose.

“The romantic sub-plot between Davy Crockett and Linda Cristal is clearly there as a nod to cinematic convention. How do you draw the female audience into a movie about fighting? In some ways the love interest is certainly formulaic, but I still think it works.
It affords Crockett the opportunity to show a tender side and the way he employs Flaca to write a letter in Spanish to himself, supposedly from Santa Anna, to illustrate to his men how the Mexican Dictator feels about their presence, is an effective plot device.”

According to an indictment [2] (PDF) unsealed this morning in U.S. District Court in Detroit, eight men and one woman were training in modern combat techniques for a prophesized battle with the anti-Christ.

A series of disturbing events over the last few days on the part of the White House make it clear that the Obama Administration has, in effect, declared war on the American citizens and U.S. allies.
Fact #1. Today the Administration threatened Israel with an abstaining vote at the United Nations unless it ceases the building of settlements in East Jerusalem. Throughout its history, Israel has depended upon the U.S. to be its only ‘No’ vote on the U.N. Security Council against the anti-Jews who sit at that table. For the U.S. to abstain is tantamount to allowing the U.N. to issue an official repudiation of Israel, demanding that it cease from building houses in its own city.

We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come. The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in. Before I get into the main premise of this article – I need to make two statements here. First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why – I don’t give a @!$%#. It doesn’t change the action.

The smartest genius President evah is nothing more than a carboard cutout. A fraud. Doesn’t exist. We don’t even know how he did in school because to this day his transcripts are sealed. Turns out now that when he was an instructor at the Chicago, his colleagues who were actual Professors didn’t like him and didn’t want him. Obama’s position was obtained through political channels.
Is the President’s resume accurate when it comes to his career and qualifications? I can corroborate that Obama’s “teaching career” at Chicago was, to put it kindly, a sham.

Here is Judge Andrew Napolitano on with Shepherd Smith to bring to light a little-known provision in the new ObamaCare Law that would authorize the President of the United States to create a 6,000 person “Health Care Reserve Corps.” Napolitano is concerned by the language used in the law, because it uses “military language” that is extremely vague. According to the Judge, it would allow the President to create this separate corps, or “army,” and the law says they will have the same training as the military. Napolitano said he does not believe the language of the provision is “well-intentioned” because of the use of the military terms.

Will it be easier to persuade people that Barack Obama is wrong on the issues or to try to convince them that he is outright evil?
That’s a crucial question facing conservatives as we gear up for fateful election battles in 2010 and 2012.
Based on human nature and political history, the answer to that question ought to be obvious: Americans have often felt that our leaders make mistakes or pursue destructive policies but we have rarely (if ever) believed that they did it deliberately to damage the country. In the last 80 years, Herbert Hoover, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush all got voted out of office by an angry electorate but a majority of the public never embraced the idea that these floundering presidents were actually bad guys. Only during President Nixon’s Watergate scandal did a substantial segment of the population come to believe that their president might well be evil or insane, and that belief led directly to the president’s resignation.

A decorated active duty Army medical officer, Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin (selected for promotion to Colonel), is calling upon his chain of command and his Congressional delegation to force President Obama to release his original birth certificate. He is the highest ranking officer to go public over this controversy and in late February, was notified that he is subject to near-term deployment to Afghanistan.
