When you hear the name “Davy Crockett,” what do you think of?

If you’re of “a certain age,” as the more diplomatic among us like to say, you probably think of Fess Parker wearing a coonskin cap. The incredibly popular television program in which he starred had every boy in America (and a few girls, too) clamoring for their own buckskin jacket and coonskin cap.

A few years later John Wayne played Davy Crockett in the film The Alamo, laying down his life at the Alamo for the cause of Texas’ independence. About the same time the Kingston Trio had a hit with a song called “Remember the Alamo.” I can still remember most of the lyrics.

But before the events portrayed in the movie and the television show, the famed frontiersman served for a couple of terms in the United States Congress—from 1827 to 1831 and again from 1833 to 1835.

Okay, so the radicals want to chill the speech of law abiding citizens because they don’t agree with their message? How un-American is that?

Here’s what you can do to thwart their attempt:

1. Email the “teaparty crashers” at crashtheteaparty@gmail.com email link and let them know you do not support their effort of infringing upon the rights of others to free speech.

Obama’s Afghan Policy Is Tantamount to Treason

Obama’s Afghan Policy Is
Tantamount to Treason

April 4 —Lyndon LaRouche is demanding President
Barack Obama’s immediate impeachment or resignation
from office, for crimes that are “tantamount to treason,”
starting with his Afghanistan policy. “American
soldiers are being sent to Afghanistan to be shot by an
enemy that the President is defending,” LaRouche
charged. “By refusing to go after the opium trade, which
is the logistical and financial backbone of the Taliban
insurgency, the Obama policy is giving those narco-insurgents
a free hand to kill American soldiers.”
President Obama’s personal complicity in the opium
treachery was demonstrated on March 28, when he
made a 24-hour unannounced visit to Kabul, to scold
Afghan President Hamid Karzai for his government’s
“corruption,” but never mentioned the opium and heroin
trade, which accounts for over 90% of the world’s
supply, and bankrolls the very Taliban insurgency that
the Administration purports to be combatting.
“American soldiers are dying in Afghanistan, fighting
an enemy that thrives on the opium trade, that the
President refuses to target,” LaRouche declared. “That
kind of policy is tantamount to treason, and warrants
the President’s immediate impeachment. It cannot be
tolerated.”

The problem with writing a column about Glenn Beck is that everyone already has said everything about him. His story has been told, his politics dissected, his rhetoric debated, his personal life invaded and his net worth revealed. And it’s all been done to the point of redundancy.

And yet the Glenn Beck conversation thrives, especially in Mormon circles.

In an effort to take something of a sociological snapshot, I posted this question on my Facebook wall on Thursday: “What do you think of Glenn Beck?”

When you play poker, the key to winning is not found in your cards, it is found in the other people around the table. The saying used to be that if you look around the poker table and cannot identify the sucker, then it is probably you. When President Obama plays poker, or negotiates a treaty, he can never find the sucker at the table because it is always him. What gambler would remove the bluff of using nuclear weapons against a biological/chemical weapon attack?

THE POST & EMAIL THINKS NOT

The Hawaii Department of Health continues to ignore and stonewall legitimate requests for information which under its UIPA law should be made available to a requester within ten days.

Mr. John Charlton, our Editor-in-Chief, has made three requests for such information from the Health Department beginning in early March which the Health Department either says it does not understand or to which it has failed to respond at all.

On February 26, 2010, Mr. Charlton published an article demonstrating the Health Department’s increasing reluctance to comply with UIPA requests. He had asked for copies of handwritten pages from the “Birth Index” maintained before Hawaii’s birth records were computerized and had offered to pay for the cost of obtaining them. Specifically, he was looking for anyone with the surnames Payne, Dunham, Soetoro and Obama.

Congress and Obama are now involved in the biggest theft, possibly in world history

Are Congress and Obama Deliberately Inciting a New US Civil War?

By Sher Zieve  Friday, March 20, 2009

With the events that have transpired over the last 58 days—since Obama and his adherents commandeered the US presidency—fear is now becoming the order of each and every day for many of We-the-People.  A couple of days ago, I wrote about only a few of the atrocities that had been committed in Obama’s first fifty-six days in office.

//

However, it is almost impossible to keep up with the actions of the Executive and Legislative branches of government that are turning our country that was once a shining city upon a hill and the model for all freedom-lovers into a repressive and fearful one; replete with detention centers for those who oppose the leftists and their secular messiah.

Congress and Obama are now involved in the biggest theft, possibly in world history, of the American people’s wealth in the history of the USA.  And it’s not over yet, folks.  “Elite-Package 2.0” (AKA another “stimulus bill”) will soon be on its way.  It is said to be over $1 TRILLION.  The Obama administration dictated and Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CN) wrote legislation to ensure that AIG executives receive bonuses that were made before 2/11/2009.  I think it pertinent to mention that Dodd received well over $223,000 from AIG in campaign donations and Obama received over $100,000.

Having used projected racism (to coin a term) in order to help win the election, since becoming President Obama’s policies have done nothing–nothing–to avoid the distinct creation of class hatred. Make no mistake: there is a distinct disdain between haves and have-nots in any society. And let’s not confuse hatred for envy. But Obama quickly established his position that America is a land of rich and poor. And he hammered home how the rich use loopholes to get out of paying taxes while that burden is unqually dumped to the poor and middle class. He has played class against class to build his power base with the poor and middle-income workers and to push his pro-union agenda.

If You Thought Obamacare Is Bad…

Obamacare + Immigration “Reform” =
Economic Catastrophe

Dear Friend of HUMAN EVENTS:

I’m afraid I have some bad news… and some worse news.

The bad news you already know. By enacting health-care “reform,” President Obama and congressional Democrats have rammed down the throats of the American people the most tyrannical and fiscally irresponsible legislative monstrosity in history.

The worse news is this…

As the Los Angeles Times recently revealed, these same radical leftists in the White House and Congress are moving ahead at warp speed to the NEXT big outrage on their agenda: an immigration “reform” bill that would combine with Obamacare like two volatile chemicals to blow our economy and society to smithereens.

If that sounds extreme, it’s not. As Milton Friedman once observed, “You cannot simultaneously have free immigration and a welfare state.” Yet that is exactly what the Obamacrats are preparing for America on a scale never before contemplated.

Even before Obamacare, the U.S. welfare state was a magnet for immigrants in search of government assistance. Now, the prospect of taxpayer-funded health care for all will make it well-nigh irresistible — especially when the only “punishment” for coming here illegally is to win “a path to citizenship,” which is the centerpiece of Obama’s immigration “reform.”

Government Is the Biggest Lawbreaker
American Thinker ^ | 04/09/2010 | Mark J. Fitzgibbons

Posted on Friday, April 09, 2010 12:10:42 PM by SeekAndFind

Measured just by the number of victims, there is no close second place to government as the biggest lawbreaker. Measured in terms of impact, government lawbreaking is disabling our entire society.

When an individual or collection of individuals (such as a business) violates the law, there are victims who are harmed directly, and the law provides remedies. The law also recognizes that lawbreakers create harm to society as a whole, since the costs of lawbreaking are borne by society as well as by the direct victims. The law therefore exacts civil or criminal punishments on lawbreakers.

When government breaks the law, not just individuals, but entire industries are often the direct victims. Government lawbreakers, however, are not subject to the same standards as are individuals. Government lawbreakers have become arrogant, and government lawbreaking has therefore proliferated. If government were held to the same standards of legal sanctions for individuals, the weight of those punishments would actually crush government.

The New Intolerance

“This was a recognition of American terrorists.”

That is CNN’s Roland Martin’s summary judgment of the 258,000 men and boys who fell fighting for the Confederacy in a war that cost as many American lives as World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq combined.

Martin reflects the hysteria that seized Obamaville on hearing that Gov. Bob McDonnell had declared Confederate History Month in the Old Dominion. Virginia leads the nation in Civil War battlefields.

So loud was the howling that in 24 hours McDonnell had backpedaled and issued an apology that he had not mentioned slavery.

Unfortunately, the governor missed a teaching moment — at the outset of the 150th anniversary of America’s bloodiest war.

Slavery was indeed evil, but it existed in the Americas a century before the oldest of our founding fathers was even born. Five of our first seven presidents were slaveholders.

But Virginia did not secede in defense of slavery. Indeed, when Abraham Lincoln was inaugurated, March 4, 1861, Virginia was still in the Union. Only South Carolina, Georgia and the five Gulf states had seceded and created the Confederate States of America.

At the firing on Fort Sumter, April 12-13, 1865, the first shots of the Civil War, Virginia was still inside the Union. Indeed, there were more slave states in the Union than in the Confederacy. But, on April 15, Lincoln issued a call for 75,000 volunteers from the state militias to march south and crush the new Confederacy.

We’ve been discussing doctors presuming to advise patients on gun safety. We saw a standard form used by an HMO and a form we can give back to make them think twice about dispensing advice they are not qualified to provide.

It’s not surprising that the medical establishment reflects an anti-gun bias. Such sentiment has been expressed at the top levels for some time now.

A Reason article from 13 years ago shows how strong the leadership bias has been.

Case in point, it discusses, among many other things, Mark Rosenberg, once director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control (and now President and Chief Executive Officer The Task Force for Global Health: “a coalition of the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the United Nations Development Programmme, the World Bank, and The Rockefeller Foundation”):

It Can’t Happen Here was a best-selling satirical political novel by Sinclair Lewis published in 1935. It aroused considerable controversy when published and in the years leading up to World War II. The plot featured the account of a crusading newspaperman Doremus Jessup, struggling against the newly elected fascist regime of President Berzelius “Buzz” Windrip, a populist leader whom some observers on the political Right assumed was a parody of FDR while others, particularly on the political Left rejected the possibility that a “popular” leader of the Democratic Party could possibly lead the country into a Fascist regime.

The New York Times unearthed a 1983 article called, “Breaking the War Mentality,” that Columbia student Barack Obama wrote for a campus newspaper. The article shows that Obama dreaded American “militarism” and its “military-industrial interests,” while effusing enthusiasm for the dangerously delusional nuclear-freeze movement.

RUSH: How can this be? How in the world could this have happened? For the life of me, folks, I can’t figure it out. “Jobless Claims Increase Unexpectedly.” Who knew? I mean, I thought the most recent report we had was that 162,000 new jobs were created and the recovery was in full steam and we’re going to come back to glory, and now this? “The Labor Department said Thursday that first-time claims increased by 18,000 in the week ending April 3, to a seasonally adjusted 460,000. That’s worse than economists’ estimates of a drop to 435,000.” Of course, here comes the excuse, there’s always an excuse. “Easter can be difficult since the Easter holiday occurs in different weeks each year.” I’ll tell you, they’re brain-dead. The media is totally brain-dead. They’re going outta business right before our very eyes and they don’t care.

Anyway, greetings, folks, great to have you here, Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network and the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.

“Slightly more than 5.8 million people were receiving extended benefits in the week ended March 20, the latest data available, a drop of about 230,000 from the previous week. The extended benefit data isn’t seasonally adjusted and is volatile from week to week.” These are the ones that don’t count. We’re not even factoring the people here who have given up looking for work, we never do in this report, which is called the U3. CNN: “Jobless Claims Soar.” Drudge has a great headline and picture. He’s got Obama smiling big time with the Russians as he’s signing this worthless — well, it’s not worthless, this stupid arms reduction treaty over there in wherever he is, and the headline is: “Phone Home: Jobless Claims Rise Again.” Obama with a big excrement-eating grin on his face. “The number of Americans filing for unemployment insurance for the first time jumped last week. … Continuing claims data exclude people whose benefits expired or those who have moved to state or federal extensions. It reflects those filing each week after their initial claim until the end of their standard benefits, which usually last 26 weeks.” What 26 weeks, we’re up to 99 now, and they’ll be extended again.

One would have to be a blind man to not see that America is fast losing the fundamental principles of liberty upon which our once-great country was established. Broke Cities Ravage Motorists With Speeding Tickets
By Scott Teeters

GOCHA!!! That’ll be $500, sir. Have a nice day and drive safely.

Recently, I was listening to Gerald Celente on The Jeff Rense Program on the internet, and Gerald mentioned that the previous weekend in the State of Virginia, almost 7,000 traffic tickets were issued in ONE WEEKEND!

Townships and states all across the Union are feeling the pressure of this Depression, so they are turning to police to help raise money through vehicle or traffic citations. Towns are installing surveillance cameras at intersections to catch drivers cutting a fast yellow light, running a red, not coming to a full stop, not stopping behind the line, etc. A camera catches license plate numbers and a computer sends the ticket in the mail. Pretty soon they’ll just debit your checking account.

BEARS ARE MANNING THE SPEED TRAPS

Some townships, such as Medford Township, where I live in Southern
New Jersey, have lowered the speed limit on certain stretches of road, turning those roads into cash cows. I live very near one such road. Taunton Blvd in Medford, NJ has a 2-mile stretch that used to have 35-MPH posted. Now the speed limit is a crawl at 30-MPH. One morning around 9:15, I was sitting at the corner gas station at the intersection of Taunton Blvd and Tuckerton Rd and saw that the other three corners of the intersection had police cars with lights flashing like crazy while drivers were getting ticketed. The gas station owner said, “This has been going on since 7AM when I got here. One, right after another”

President Obama Needs to Prove His Constitutional Eligibility to Be Commander-in-Chief

By Terrence Lakin, MD

Last week, I entered Walter Reed Army Hospital to notify the Department of Defense that I would refuse to obey any orders from my commanding officers — including President Obama — until the president produces his original birth certificate. After nearly eighteen years of wearing the military uniform of the country I have proudly served, including overseas assignments in imminent danger/combat areas in Bosnia and Afghanistan, I felt compelled to take this step.

I made this decision from much deliberation, after lengthy consultations with many friends, family members, and colleagues, and I firmly believe that all servicemen and women, and the American public, have the right to know the truth about President Obama’s constitutional eligibility to serve as Commander-in-Chief.

As military officers, we all take a solemn oath upon commissioning into the Uniformed Services. In this oath, we swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Upholding the law is an essential part of our role as citizens; in the military, we are the ultimate protectors of that law. The Constitution is our social compact, which safeguards all of us and ensures the “equal rights” that we are entitled to as American citizens.
