President Barack ObamaThe “birther” myth is the political equivalent of a horror-movie villain: Not only does it refuse to die, but every time someone tries to kill it, it only comes back stronger.

The latest incarnation: a bill approved 31-22 by the Arizona House of Representatives on Monday that would require 2012 presidential candidates to offer proof of citizenship in order to qualify for the ballot. The proposal has little chance of becoming law. For that to happen, the state Senate would have to pass it and the governor would have to sign it. But it’s still the closest birtherism has come to being codified.

I write this follow up in response to reader mail regarding my column DC Knows that Obama is Ineligible for Office. Even many conservative columnists and pundits seem confused on the issue of natural born citizen, even though the matter is really quite clear.

Only the people can decide…

But I submit to every American the idea that if Article II—Section I of the US Constitution is no longer worthy of protection and preservation, then nothing in that document matters anymore.

If we fail to uphold Article II—Section I of the US Constitution, then we have failed to uphold, protect, preserve or defend any part of the US Constitution or the American way of life.

If the US Constitution no longer stands, then the United States of America no longer stands.

With the publication of a “Patriot Hitlist”, the Southern Poverty Law Center has once again proven itself to be anything but a “civil rights” organisation, as it continues to act in its role as an intolerant and belligerent slander outfit, almost exclusively targeting legitimate, peaceful, grassroots political and social dissent.

The SLPC makes millions every year off the back of attacking libertarians and conservatives and anyone in between who doesn’t share their own myopic political outlook.

It has a nasty habit of labeling “extremist” and “radical” any group or person that it merely disagrees with, lumping them in with white supremacists and right wing militias, all the while preaching that it is committed to “Fighting Hate, Teaching Tolerance, Seeking Justice”.

Perusing their website and published materials for just a short time will lead any rational and discerning person to identify the SPLC for what it is – an über leftist outfit of control freaks with an axe to grind. However, the U.S. government, under both Republican and Democratic administrations – and by proxy the corporate mainstream media – has chosen to elevate the SPLC to the level of revered research group.

Most infamously last year, the SPLC was cited as a primary research source in the highly inflammatory Missouri Information Analysis Center report ^[2], a federally funded “fusion center” document that equated Ron Paul supporters, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag with radical race hate groups and terrorists.

Along with the ADL, another group that just loves to compile lists of political enemies ^[3], the SPLC was also a prominent source for the leaked Department of Homeland Security “Rightwing Extremism” report ^[4]. The sources for the document, which equated veterans and gun owners with violent terrorists, were revealed following a freedom of information act request ^[5]from the group Americans for Limited Government. Along with the SPLC and the ADL, other sources included a number of news articles, some of which also cited the SPLC, and a scattering of web posts from highly dubious sources. No statistical analysis was found to have been undertaken by the DHS – they just took the opinions of the SPLC and threw in a few internet posts as an afterthought.

The disgusting irony of the whole sorry affair came with the fact that the SPLC immediately jumped on the DHS report when it was leaked, using it to justify their materials and agendas.

In the months that followed, the SPLC returned to the report again and again ^[6] to tie it in with incidents such as the tragic shooting at the Holocaust museum in Washington DC.

Kyrsten Sinema, a Democratic representative in the Arizona state legislature, said the “birther bill” recently advanced in the Arizona House would make the state “the laughing stock of the nation.” Reaction to the legislation indicates people agree.

It is no accident that April 22, Earth Day, is also the birth date of Vladimir Lenin, an acolyte of Karl Marx, the lunatic who invented communism as an alternative to capitalism.

Earth Day is naked communism.

To begin, it substitutes a worship of the Earth, Gaia, for the worship of God, creator of the universe and the instructor of moral behavior for mankind.

The Earth does not demand a moral code of personal behavior. Indeed, the lesson it teaches is “the survival of the fittest “and an indifference to suffering. The “natural events” mankind fears most all involve the potential for significant loss of life and for injury.

The Earth is a beautiful place, but it is utterly merciless. Man has learned to adapt to it and, by adapt, I mean to use its resources to build shelter and protection from it, to plant and harvest crops from it, and to domesticate some of its species while hunting and fishing for others for food.

Earth Day postulates that man is the cause of harm to Earth by virtue of his cities, his highways, his use of its sources of energy, and even the garbage that results from the normal course of maintaining life. For centuries mankind routinely burned and buried garbage. Now we are told we must separate and recycle it. We are told that everything plastic is bad even though it is one of the great inventions of modern times.

I watched former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the Democrats’ version of Mahatma Ghandi, on CNN piously fretting over the growing concern on the left that the great unwashed masses known as middle-class America are increasingly viewing violence as an option to safeguard their rights.

Well, golly-gee Bill, you’re a little slow off the mark on this one. You were warned well in advance of the 2008 Presidential Elections that Obama and his misty-eyed troop of Democrats would polarize the country to such an extent with his Marxist agenda that a second civil war was not unthinkable. And don’t you remember the threats of violence that were made near the end of the campaign if Obama lost?

Somebody has to remind you people that Americans have fought and died in the past for their rights and freedoms and will do so again.

Now, Bill, as hard as your friends in the Frankenmedia are trying to paint the Tea Party movement as racist simply because there is little representation from minorities, will not catch on. You see, Bill, since your time in office, folks have become a lot more media savvy thanks mainly to your friend Barack Hussein Obama who somehow lost his birth certificate.

Before, during and after that election the media showed its true colors by embarking on an historic and unprecedented propaganda campaign that I am sure would have warmed the cockles of the heart of George Orwell who penned the novel, 1984.

It was not bad enough that they manipulated that election, but they went further launching a second front to discredit Sarah Palin including bringing one-trick-pony Tina Fey in to ridicule Palin on Saturday Night Live. Palin certainly scared the daylights out of you Democrats, didn’t she Bill? In fact Fey has had to do a reprise during the mid-term elections when Palin isn’t even running to keep her fragile career from failing.

Gawsh darn it Bill, don’t you leftist folks realize what is really bothering people in your own country?

It was about a principled bureaucrat struggling to protect his country from a highly classified program with sinister implications. Rife with high drama, it included a car chase through the streets of Washington, D.C., and a tense meeting at the White House, where the president’s henchmen made the bureaucrat so nervous that he demanded a neutral witness be present.

The bureaucrat was James Comey, John Ashcroft’s second-in-command at the Department of Justice during Bush’s first term. Comey had been a loyal political foot soldier of the Republican Party for many years. Yet in his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he described how he had grown increasingly uneasy reviewing the Bush administration’s various domestic surveillance and spying programs. Much of his testimony centered on an operation so clandestine he wasn’t allowed to name it or even describe what it did. He did say, however, that he and Ashcroft had discussed the program in March 2004, trying to decide whether it was legal under federal statutes. Shortly before the certification deadline, Ashcroft fell ill with pancreatitis, making Comey acting attorney general, and Comey opted not to certify the program. When he communicated his decision to the White House, Bush’s men told him, in so many words, to take his concerns and stuff them in an undisclosed location.

In a move reminiscent of Chicago-style politics….or the Nazi party….Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said that groups inside the United States, including anti-government groups, could be seeking to launch violent attacks. On the day after using the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing as a springboard for this campaign, Napolitano states, “We’ve always had groups on all sides that have held beliefs that are very strong and express them very vociferously.” All sides? I’d say she is looking at one side – the right.

Let’s not forget that controversial memo from the Department of Homeland Security issued a year ago, warning law enforcement agencies that current economic and political factors could help “right-wing extremist groups” recruit new people.

I love those single quotes around ‘Patriots.’ They’re meant to signify that Napolitano and Paul aren’t really patriots according to the Bankster puppets at the SPLC. A new report from Americans for Limited Government (ALG) clearly shows that the Democrats have destroyed our economy since they took control of our lives in January of 2007.

The most eye catching of ALG’s data items is the sad comparison of the rate of 4.6% unemployment at the start of 2007 and today’s alarming 9.7%. In real terms this means while there were about 7 million unemployed workers when the Democrats took over, today that number has more than doubled to 14.8 million out of work Americans.

At the rate they are going these swollen and devastating numbers will be with us as far as the eye can see, even by the Democrats’ own admission. The Democrats attempt to tell us to shut up because “this is the new state of the national economy” makes it even more important that we roll up our sleeves to fight for our freedoms.

If it weren’t tyranny, it would be funny.

But it is tyranny, so it’s not.

The Obama Administration has claimed for itself the right to determine how much salt is in your food. In this last area of personal choice – taste – you have lost your choice.

Or at least you will.

Under a plan being floated by the Obama Food and Drug Administration, the federal government will set salt levels in food the same way it sets emission levels for cars. In the name of protecting you, the government will enslave you.

And it will order food companies to systematically reduce the amount of salt in their products over the next 10 years. Like the proverbial frog in the pan of water, the regulations will become more stringent incrementally, in the belief that the American palate will adjust and comply.

Ten percent of the population is sensitive to sodium. One hundred percent of the population will suffer. Radio host warns that agent provocateurs will commit terror to frame patriots

Popular talk show host Michael Savage has warned that the “illegitimate” Obama regime is planning to use agent provocateurs to stage violence or acts of terror in order to frame Tea Party members as violent extremists and crush free speech in America.

Savage’s rant was in response to Council on Foreign Relations member and Time Magazine journalist Joe Klein, who told Obama attack dog Chris Matthews during an MSNBC interview ^[2] that some of the rhetoric coming from Tea Party members borders on sedition.

Savage also made reference to BIll Clinton’s comments to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer last week ^[3] in which the former President implied that rising anger directed towards the federal government could cause another domestic terror attack on the scale of the Oklahoma City bombing to take place, which is nothing less than a veiled threat as anyone who has investigated the OKC bombing in any depth ^[4] will understand.

Much hey has been made of the recent string of comments portraying conservative activism as support for domestic terrorism. Former President Bill Clinton insinuated, in an interview with Wolf Blitzer, that the Tea Party movement is breeding the next Timothy McVeigh. Representative Betty McCollum, from Minnesota’s fifth district, placed House Republicans and conservative commentators on notice to “temper” their rhetoric lest anyone within earshot take up arms. Joe Kline, a political columinist for TIME magazine, accused Glenn Beck of sedition for “langauge inciting rebellion against the state.” Chris Matthews prefaced Kline’s accusation by declaring terms such as “un-American” to be “license words” or “permission words,” as if assassins lay in wait for talk show hosts to give a green light.

These moments are indicative of a progressive strategy to undermine the Tea Party movement. The misrepresentations, distortions, and outright falsehoods are numerous and tightly woven, intent to defy concise response. In the space of three minutes, McCollum managed to misrepresent Tea Partiers as anarchists – in spite of their obvious support of the Constitution, accuse them of racism – without any evidence whatsoever, and shamelessly distort a transcript of Sean Hannity – to pass off a plainly satirical comment as sincere. These were less than half the factually challenged statements in her brief remarks.

Again, this SPLC report would not even merit a mention (much less an entire column) except for the fact that the SPLC has become a source of information fuelling anti-freedom hysteria for countless bureaucrats at the DHS. Add this to the previously exposed MIAC and DHS reports, and the Army major’s report blaming “millennialist” Christians for much of the ills of the world, and a disturbing trend is quickly developing: so-called right-wing ANYTHING is being targeted and demonized as a “public menace.”

But the lists that you and I are not seeing are even more disturbing.

Joel Skousen quotes (Radar Magazine’s) Christopher Ketcham’s The Last Roundup as asking if the federal government is “compiling a secret enemies list of citizens who could face detention?” He goes on to say, “A number of former government employees and intelligence sources with independent knowledge of domestic surveillance operations claim the program that caused the flap between [former assistant attorney general under John Ashcroft, James] Comey and the White House was related to a database of Americans who might be considered potential threats in the event of a national emergency. Sources familiar with the program say that the government’s data gathering has been overzealous and probably conducted in violation of federal law and the protection from unreasonable search and seizure guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment.

“A veteran CIA intelligence analyst who maintains active high-level clearances and serves as an advisor to the Department of Defense in the field of emerging technology tells Radar that during the 2004 hospital room drama [between former Chief of Staff Andrew Card and Attorney General Ashcroft, in an attempt by Card to coerce a very ill Ashcroft to authorize President Bush's secretive domestic spying programs as his assistant--and acting--attorney general had refused to do so], James Comey expressed concern over how this secret database was being used ‘to accumulate otherwise private data on non-targeted U.S. citizens for use at a future time.’”

The report further states, “According to a senior government official who served with high-level security clearances in five administrations, ‘There exists a database of Americans, who, often for the slightest and most trivial reason, are considered unfriendly, and who, in a time of panic, might be incarcerated. The database can identify and locate perceived “enemies of the state” almost instantaneously.’” At this point, Skousen noted, “And that is precisely why the census bureau took a GPS coordinate on every front door in America, secretly linking this to dissidents and their known addresses.”

Late Congressman Larry McDonald (D-GA) is often credited with a fairly famous quote about liberty:

We have four boxes with which to defend our freedom: the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box.

One variation amends the above with “please use in that order”–which is, I hope we can all agree, sage advice.

Lately, though, there are a growing number of voices arguing for restrictions on that first box:

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence calling gun rights rallies “an open threat to the rule of law.”
