A Thousand More Days of Damage

On Saturday, April 24, President Barack Hussein Obama, will have one thousand days left in which to ruin America.

As we know from his first fifteen months in office, he is capable of doing a lot of damage. This is rather extraordinary insofar as he only had 142 days as a U.S. Senator before he was inaugurated.

He has had the support of a majority of Democrats in the House and Senate, but he has set the agenda. The result is trillions of dollars of debt, despite the fact that the banks and investment houses, as well as General Motors, have all paid back the TARP funds they received.

Who would have ever believed that a majority of American voters would elect a President who hates America?

I’m not a lawyer, nor do I play one, so what follows is just IMHO on how the case of Perkins v Elg affects the definition of natural born citizen. I offer it, not as definitive, but as evidence that the Supreme Court has ruled in the past in a way that might well lead to its ruling in favor of Obama, if the case is based on the citizenship of Obama’s presumptive father.

The facts as stated in the decisions:

“The question is whether the plaintiff, Marie Elizabeth Elg. who was born in the United States of Swedish parents then naturalized here, has lost her citizenship and is subject to deportation because of her removal during minority to Sweden, it appearing that her parents resumed their citizenship in that country but that she returned here on attaining majority with intention to remain and to maintain her citizenship in the United States.

A retired Army general and national-security-policy expert says Lt. Col. Terry Lakin has “a valid point” and should use his “right to discovery” to force the Obama administration to produce proof of his natural-born-citizenship status.

In an interview with Evil Conservative Radio, Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely said, “I think many in the military – and many out of the military – question the natural-birth status of Barack Obama. … I’m not convinced that he is [a natural-born citizen].”

Vallely, CEO of Stand Up America U.S., graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned in the Army in 1961, serving 32 years.

CALLER: Hey, my point to you was in the last hour you were speaking with another caller, and you guys had agreed that all these policy initiatives out of the administration were, in essence, a big-time federal power grab. My question is when are the states going to stand up and say, “No more?” If they don’t stand up on Tenth Amendment grounds, which would be the right thing to do, why don’t they stand up on selfish grounds? Their politicians, they’re losing power. When are these state guys going to say enough?

What happened to the America we all once knew and loved? The land of – baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet. The land of the free and the home of the brave. A country where its citizens felt safe and happy and proud to proclaim, “God bless America!” It seems like those noble ideals which made our country strong and great are fast slipping away and being replaced by the strange and bizarre. As some of our readers may recall, the Bizarro World was a fictitious planet in the DC comics universe, first appearing in the early 1960s. In the world of “Htrae” (“Earth” spelled backwards), society is ruled by the Bizarro Code which states, “Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!”

So without any further ado we say,

Advocates For Gay Troops Target Sens. Warner And Webb

By Bill Sizemore, The Virginian-Pilot

NORFOLK–Advocates of repealing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” law prohibiting open military service by gays and lesbians are focusing their efforts on legislators in six critical states, including Virginia, where they say their fight will be won or lost.

Prominent in their cross-hairs are Virginia’s two middle-of-the-road Democratic senators, Jim Webb and Mark Warner, neither of whom has yet taken a position on the issue.

Webb in particular – a Vietnam War veteran, former Navy secretary and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee – will play a key role as Congress takes up the matter.

For nearly 13 years, the irreverent — to put it mildly — cartoon show “South Park” has ridiculed every sacred convention in the book, from major religions and celebrities to gays and the physically disabled.

Nearly every bit of over-the-top satire has outraged someone or some group and prompted calls for the show to be boycotted or even banned.

And each time, for better or for worse, the program’s network, Comedy Central, has stood firmly behind creator-producers Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Except when it comes to Islam and the prophet Mohammed.

The Silent Killer: Obama’s VAT Proposal

The Silent Killer: Obama’s VAT Proposal
Townhall.com ^ | April 24. 2010 | Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

When conservatives like Neal Boortz proposed the “fair tax” (a levy on consumption, not on income), we should have known that the Barack Obama left would seize on the proposal not as Boortz intended it to be — a replacement for the income tax — but as an addition to it. Now Obama has let it be known that the value-added tax, or VAT, is “on the table” as he casts about for taxes to lock in his gigantic levels of federal spending.

At stake, of course, is our free-market system. When Obama took office, federal, state and local spending accounted for 30 percent of gross domestic product. Now it is up to 35 percent, and when health care is fully implemented, it will rise to above 40 percent. But taxes are still below 30 percent. The difference is the deficit, now grown to 10 percent of our GDP.

If our government is to continue spending 40 percent of our GDP, we will morph into the European model of a socialist democracy. But if we can roll the spending back to 30 percent, while holding taxes level, we will retain our free market system.

In 2011, we will have three choices:

– Raise taxes up to 40 percent.

– Cut spending down to 30 percent.

– Or half and half.

Now Obama proposes the ultimate step to convert us into a European nation: the VAT.

“The decision to initiate potential court-martial proceedings against Col. Lakin represents a line in the sand for the Army, …”

‘Birther’ Soldier Faces Charges

By Yochi J. Dreazen
The Army filed formal changes against Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, a military physician who refused to deploy to Afghanistan because he believes President Barack Obama hasn’t proven that he was born in the U.S.

The decision to initiate potential court-martial proceedings against Col. Lakin represents a line in the sand for the Army, which declined to discipline a pair of officers who raised similar questions last year about Mr. Obama’s constitutional eligibility to serve as commander in chief.
Chuck Dasey, a spokesman for Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, said Col. Lakin was being charged with three counts of disobeying a lawful order and one count of dereliction of duty. If found guilty, Col. Lakin could be kicked out of the Army, forced to give up his retirement benefits and jailed for up to four years.

Col. Lakin and his attorney didn’t respond to phone messages or emails seeking comment. In a statement released through the foundation raising money for his legal-defense fund, the officer said he was prepared to press his case in court.

“I invited my court martial, and today I stand ready to answer these charges,” Col. Lakin said. “I was prepared to deploy if only the president would authorize the release of the proof of his eligibility. He refused, and now the court will determine the issue, and my fate.”

The White House long ago stopped commenting on issues about the president’s citizenship.

The military’s decision to pursue disciplinary measures against Col. Lakin, a doctor at Walter Reed, is likely to turn his case into a cause célèbre
for certain elements of the political right. Conservative figures such as G. Gordon Liddy have rallied behind Col. Lakin and urged their supporters to contribute to his legal-defense fund.
