Evangelical Christians in the United States had better see a big challenge staring us in the face. Franklin Graham was disinvited by the Pentagon for making statements that are required by faithfulness to the gospel of Christ.
Thursday, May 6, 2010
Marking the National Day of Prayer, evangelist Franklin Graham led in prayer this morning at the Pentagon. Not inside the Pentagon, mind you, but outside, where he led a handful of other Christians in silent prayer.
The recent controversy about Franklin Graham is a sign of things to come. The prominent evangelist, son of Billy Graham, is known for his plain-spoken Christian testimony. He is also an internationally known figure as founder and head of Samaritan’s Purse, a highly respected Christian relief agency. He had been scheduled to speak at the Pentagon today for an official National Day of Prayer event. But, just two weeks ago, he was disinvited by Pentagon officials after complaints were made about his statements concerning Islam.
In the words of the official Pentagon spokesperson, Franklin Graham’s statements about Islam were “not appropriate.” Oddly enough, most in the media seem to have forgotten that the Pentagon faced a similar controversy over Franklin Graham and the very same comments in 2003, when he was invited to speak at an official Pentagon Good Friday service. At that time, the Pentagon stalwartly refused to disinvite Graham. Indeed, the official Pentagon spokesperson said at that time: “While I, personally, would not agree with some of Rev. Graham’s comments and observations, I would defend his right to have his religious views as part of the freedom we have as Americans.”

It appears that both Gov. Linda Lingle and Chiyome Fukino have lied in their public statements concerning Obama’s birth records. Details in the video.
Hawaii Gov. Lingle answers the birthers, who remain surprisingly unconvinced

Via Joe Kovacs, we have a fresh answer to the birthers from Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle (R), given to — of all people — former Michael Jackson confidante Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. The comments come around 77 minutes into this interview, after Boteach asks Lingle about legislation that would protect state employees from having to answer the endless questions about President Obama’s birth certificate.
“You know, during the campaign of 2008, I was actually in the mainland campaigning for Sen. McCain. This issue kept coming up so much in the campaign, and again I think it’s one of those issues that is simply a distraction from the more critical issues that are facing the country. And so I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact. And yet people continue to call up and e-mail and want to make it an issue. And I think it’s, again, a horrible distraction for the country by those people who continue this. … It’s been established. He was born here.”(continued)

Crime Inc.: What the ‘Greening of America’ Really Means
It’s a safe bet that most Americans’ first exposure to the concept of carbon trading or cap-and-trade legislation came during the most recent presidential campaign when both candidates advocated the need to make protecting the environment a government mandate instead of the moral obligation it’s always been. In the past few months President Barack Obama has repeatedly stated that a comprehensive energy/environmental law, including cap-and-trade, is an absolute priority of his administration. Cap-and-Trade Simply put, the idea behind the cap-and-trade plan is this:
The federal government would set limits or cap the amount of pollutant a business could create. If the business chose to emit levels exceeding the cap they would have to find a business not using its full allotment and purchase the surplus from them.

I have no idea if Arizona will make an attempt at secession, or not. If they do, it will not be the first time. You see, back in 1861 Arizona chose to become a part of the old Confederacy during the War Between the States. You may read the Arizona Ordinance of Secession HERE.
So, secession, as unthinkable as you MAY think it is today, is NOT outside the realm of possibility. Let’s see what others are saying about this issue: ************************ “Will Arizona be the first state to secede?” Check this out HERE.
************************ HCR 2034:If Martial Law, Arizona Will Secede 1. “That when or if the President of the United States, the Congress of the United States or any other federal agent or agency declares the Constitution of the United States to be suspended or abolished, if the President or any other federal entity attempts to institute martial law or its equivalent without an official declaration in one or more of the states without the consent of that state or if any federal order attempts to make it unlawful for individual Americans to own firearms or to confiscate firearms, the State of Arizona, when joined by thirty-four of the other fifty states, declares as follows: That the states resume all state powers delegated by the Constitution of the United States and assume total sovereignty; … …” You will find this story HERE.

Calling President Obama a “socialist” may not carry the punch some of his opponents had hoped for, given a new poll that found Americans are “not so negative” about the word and young people have essentially the same feelings about “socialism” as they do the word “capitalism.”
Americans generally view the word “capitalism” more favorably than the word “socialism,” according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, but respondents were “not so negative” about “socialism” and “not so positive” about “capitalism” as one might expect.
