KABUL — The top U.S. general in Afghanistan apologized Tuesday for a magazine article that portrays him and his staff as flippant and dismissive of top Obama administration officials involved in Afghanistan policy.

The profile in Rolling Stone magazine, titled the “Runaway General,” is certain to increase tension between the White House and Gen. Stanley McChrystal.

It also raises fresh questions about the judgment and leadership style of the commander Obama appointed last year in an effort to turn around a worsening conflict.

McChrystal and some of his senior advisors are quoted criticizing top administration officials, at times in starkly derisive terms. An anonymous McChrystal aide is quoted calling national security adviser James Jones a “clown.”

Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, has leveled an open and unprecedented attack on the current U.S. ambassador, Karl Eikenberry, whom he accuses of betraying him by firing off cables to Washington critical of the U.S. war strategy.

Eikenberry, a former Army lieutenant general, sent two cables last November, apparently without McChrystal’s knowledge.

Not only did the cables criticize McChrystal’s recommendation of a proposed troop buildup out of concern that it would make the Karzai government too dependent on the U.S., but they complained about Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his government and the state of its military.

Typically, I try not to write when I’m angry about something. This week, however, that is proving to be well nigh impossible. How can I not be just a bit miffed about the way our ostensible President has been handling the oil spill crisis currently taking place in the Gulf of Mexico? Perhaps it is because I don’t suffer fools lightly, but the stunning, nay, mindboggling incompetence emanating from our government, and especially its executive branch, is pushing me past even my expectations for governmental ineptitude.

The “Peter Principle” is a well-known principle of hierarchical organizations. At its simplest, it basically says that within any organization, every employee will rise to his or her level of incompetence. Essentially, each employee will perform their work well and will be promoted within the organization up until they reach the position where they are no longer capable of competently performing the tasks assigned to them, at which point they will not be promoted further.

I feel like a broken record, but the Constitution is explicit about what the federal government can and cannot do. Article I of that document lists seventeen powers that the federal government can do. The Tenth Amendment was designed to dismiss any notion that the federal government had broad powers beyond those laid out in Article I. The founders’ agenda was clear — very restrictive powers for the federal government and vast powers to the states and local governments.

Twice last week, Bill O’Reilly booked conservative Republican stars on his show–Sarah Palin and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) — and came at them from the unexpected stance of defending President Obama. With Palin, he defended Obama’s handling of the BP spill. With Bachmann, he disagreed with her criticism of how the BP escrow fund was set-up.

All of that sparked an outraged rant from radio host Mark Levin, which the Right Scoop has captured and put online. In it, Levin makes the case that a lot of conservatives who don’t have to worry about re-election are making–that, yes, the president “shook down” BP, and that O’Reilly is a “phony, populist idiot” for thinking otherwise.

Americans who care about our country should be very skeptical of the administration’s line that no military dissent–not even from retirees–is ever permissible. As a nation, we need to ask ourselves some very uncomfortable questions about the rise of hyper-political defense secretaries, the politicization of military affairs by both Republicans and Democrats, the isolation of the president from frank military advice and civilian interference in the smallest details of combat operations.

Each of these men played by the rules, retiring before speaking out. None prejudiced good order. Not one stands to profit from his courage (quite the contrary).

Since the Federal government and most “blue” states” are now essentially run as a “protection racket” (and have been for awhile IMHO) “fat cats” (and some not so fat) of all varieties must pony up with the campaign contributions. That way they try to avoid harmful regulations and also, in some cases, become qualified to get bailed out (too big to fail ya know), when their malfeasance (financial and otherwise) gets ‘em in trouble. Democrats, to their credit, are more honest about this practice, but GOPers do it too… they’re just not as good at it. Too give the “devil” his due… the Obama administration has just about perfected this (all that good “Chicago” experience?). BP’s misdeeds have led to a large “shakedown” (note to Rep. Barton: there’s NO GREATER punishment in Washington DC, than for telling the truth!!!). I soon expect all “Big Oil” to be victims as they get caught up in the BP mess (guilt by association)! I am curious to see if ANY but a bare minimum of folks adversely effected by this oil spill disaster get much help… (unless they display the “Union Label”… IMHO).

I have attempted through the years to post to my many sites, blogs, forums, etc. but finding these again years later is not always successful. Nothing is forever on the Internet, and many are now lost in cyberspace as webpages disappear due to servers going bellyup, etc. Then again, much of the info has been from books and other sources that mention certain topics only as incidental to the man theme of the book thus making may topics hard to retrieve—not to mention my own memory not now as good as I would like it to be.

“Useful idiots” was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.

NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie reports this morning that Gen. Stanley McChrystal is being called to Washington for a meeting at the White House tomorrow in the wake of a Rolling Stone article that has exposed McChrystal and his staff as mockingly disrespectful of their civilian overseers, including their commander-in-chief President Barack Obama.

Guthrie posted at Twitter:

In a startling development, a long-time pro-White activist, Edgar Steele has been charged with plotting to kill his wife. An article in the Spokesman-Review notes “(Edgar) Steele pleads not guilty… (Steele) pleaded with U.S. District Court Judge Candy Dale to release him from jail before next week’s bail hearing to tend to his clients and ‘put my affairs in order.’ The judge declined and ordered Steele not to contact his mother-in-law and wife…. ‘They know me far better than the U.S. government does,’ Steele said. ‘The United States government is doing everything in its power to try to drive a wedge between me and my wife…’ Steele’s wife and son, who appeared to be in his early 20s, declined interviews but spoke with Whelan at the hearing and communicated with Steele before the no-contact order. Steele’s wife cried after the hearing and slammed her hand against a wall outside the courtroom. “I need to be allowed to talk to my husband…,’ she said to court officials.”

All the people who know Edgar Steele who have been posting on pro-White blogs like Stormfront have been emphatic that he would never try to murder his wife. Add to that Steele’s long history of law-abiding behavior, his intelligence and his devotion to an idealistic cause. Steele has been married for 25 years and there has not been one mention of serious strife in the marriage. There has to be a motive for a crime. A husband is not going to kill his wife unless he truly hates her.

I assure you, it is all too real, and it is wreaking havoc across America on all fronts: social, economic, political, religious, and many, many others. What is this mystery disease I am speaking of?

It is ignorance ­ the most destructive disease of the mind, a deadly corrosion of our collective intellectual capacity. You may be thinking that while ignorance is certainly not a good thing, it really isn’t a disease. Oh no? Tell me, which has wrought more destruction and caused the downfall of America? Is it tuberculosis, or AIDS, or leprosy? No, it is ignorance.

I have seen this disease firsthand on many occasions. Whether it be shown in people who strain to remember who the Vice-President of the United States is, or those who have no clue what a Secretary of State is, it is the growing mass of ignorant individuals, and the overall ignorance of the populace, which are destroying our sacred Republic. The more stupid the population gets, the more ignorant the populace becomes, the more powerful our shady overlords become – and the men pulling the strings behind the grand curtain just laugh in amusement.

According to Fred Barnes at The Weekly Standard, the Obamis are planning a lame-duck session of Congress, “filled with defeated and retired senators and House members,” to pass a VAT (value-added tax).

Liberals know that they get a chance to enact progressive legislation only once in a generation. That’s when the cycle of politics throws up a liberal majority in Congress, and liberals have the votes to cram down their agenda. That’s why President Obama is in such a hurry, eager to jam down liberal legislation in the teeth of popular opposition.

I call it the ratchet.

In the 1900s, liberals got to do a ratchet on popular election of senators, the income tax, and central banking. They got to do a ratchet on financial regulation, pro-labor legislation, Social Security, and welfare in the 1930s. Only the NRA wage and price controls got repealed. They got to do civil rights and ratchet the war on poverty and environment in the 1960s. Only one welfare program out of 79 got repealed — thirty years later. And now, after a forty-year hiatus, liberals are hoping to ratchet ObamaCare and a huge expansion of the stealth welfare state onto the American people.

Sadly, the disaster in the Gulf continues this week as BP’s efforts at containment keep hitting snags and residents along the coast scramble to clean up and defend their shores and wildlife. Many have criticized the federal government in the past weeks for not doing enough. The reality is there is only so much government can do to help, yet a lot they can do to prolong the problem and misdirect the pain. For example, in the interest of “doing something” the administration has enacted a unilateral ban on offshore drilling. This is counterproductive. I am proud to cosponsor legislation to lift that ban. Why punish other oil companies and their hard-working employees who had nothing to do with this disaster, and who have better safety records?

Sarah Palin called White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel a liar on Twitter yesterday, saying his comments on ABC’s “This Week” make him shallow, narrow-minded, political and irresponsible.

The former governor of Alaska is apparently outraged over Emanuel telling ABC’s Jake Tapper on Sunday that Republican Rep. Joe Barton’s apology last week to BP was not a slip of the tongue, but a reflection of the “philosophy” of the Republican Party.

“That’s not a political gaffe, those are prepared remarks,” Emanuel said. “That is a philosophy.”

Emanuel added: “They see the aggrieved party here as BP, not the fishermen and the communities down there affected.”

In a Father’s Day column attacking Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin, Colbert King of the Washington Post presents President Obama as a good family man who has been married to one woman and whose mother raised him to believe in “hard work and education.” Since King has brought up the topic of Obama’s upbringing, it is important to set the record straight. Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis was a sex pervert who mentored Obama during his growing-up years in Hawaii and became his substitute father.

Obama’s father abandoned the family and his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, raised him only with the help of his grandparents. His grandfather, Stanley Armour Dunham, had selected Davis to be a mentor to a young Obama before he went off to college.

Davis, described only as “Frank” in Obama’s memoir, Dreams from My Father, was a major influence over Obama for eight years of his life. He operated as a journalist, first in Chicago, where he came into contact with Obama associate Valerie Jarrett’s former father-in-law, and then Hawaii, where he wrote for a Communist Party-sponsored newspaper financed by a communist-controlled labor union.

It was Valerie Jarrett who openly boasted that “we,” apparently referring to White House officials, including presumably Obama, had recruited Van Jones for a job in the Obama Administration. He was forced out after his involvement in communist causes and the 9/11 truth movement came to light.

New Zealand blogger Trevor Loudon broke the story of “Frank” being Frank Marshall Davis and we followed up, not only confirming the identity but disclosing the FBI’s 600-page file on Davis.  All of this occurred during the 2008 presidential campaign but very few people wanted to talk about it. David Maraniss of the Washington Post wrote a 10,000-word article about Obama’s growing-up years in Hawaii without even mentioning Davis.

Former Post reporter David Remnick’s 2010 biography of Obama, The Bridge, takes a different tack. “When Obama was running for president, Remnick writes, “the right-wing blogosphere attacked Frank Marshall Davis. He was, by turns, a card-carrying Communist, a pornographer, a pernicious influence. The attacks were loud and unrelenting.”

What is wrong with Obama? Did he actually go down to the gulf and try to suck up oil with a straw after saying he couldn’t do it? You might think so by the way he has been handling the gulf oil spill. Rahm Emanuel says, “Never let a crisis go to waste,” while the Obama administration is exploiting the oil spill for every political point they can make. Enter the cap & tax energy bill – designed in part to kill the oil industry.

Obama has done just about everything wrong since snorting that oil. The Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations prematurely held hearings – strike that – interrogations of BP CEO Tony Hayward last Thursday. Most of the questions concerned decisions made on the rig during the drilling process. Hayward had one answer to almost all of their questions, “I don’t have that information, the investigation is not yet complete.”

Of course, he wouldn’t have the answers. He is the CEO charged with running the overall company, not the drilling Foreman who was involved in these decisions. The CEO doesn’t have time to be involved in every operational decision of every rig in the company; it‘s not his job. That’s what managers are for. Even if he did have the answers, he is not going to answer questions that are under investigation by Obama’s justice department. Anything he might say would be used against him in court.

If you happened to catch Barack Obama’s first televised address from the Oval Office and were looking for steady leadership, an end to the gushing oil or common sense managing the cleanup, you were probably very disappointed. Unfortunately for the United States, not only is Obama illegitimate, he’s also incompetent, reckless and he represents everything our Founders warned us to abolish; a clear and present danger to our well-being, freedoms and way of life.

If the oil spill is truly the battle, epidemic or siege that Obama alluded to in his metaphorically-loaded speech, then we’ve lost the war, succumbed to the disease and our fortification has been penetrated, because this speech was a concession to defeat. There was no discussion of any additional efforts by BP, the government, the military or anyone else to try and cap the spill. All he could offer was a promise to collect as much oil as possible until a relief well is on-line, make BP pay and focus on recovery. But, there are serious problems with this particular three-pronged approach.

If you’re having trouble getting your daily dose of Free Republic, you aren’t alone. It’s Sunday evening and for at least the past hour and a half all that appears is a blank page. For a while the home page was available, but now I can’t even access that. I hope they weren’t hacked.

Since the Mexican Independence from Spain in 1821, there has always been the question of who owned what in the west. Since invading the New World, Spain controlled a vast territory that included all of modern day Mexico all the way through California and Utah, not to mention Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. Arguments go in many directions but the fact of the matter is that in 1846 President Polk called for the invasion of Mexico. It was a bloody war, based mostly on the principal of “Manifest Destiny” but was also based on the principal that Colonialism left a void of epic proportions in the west, and the areas that Spain once controlled were nothing more than a set of violent fiefdoms.

President Barack Obama went on the attack against Republicans on Saturday, accusing the GOP of obstructing a litany of his legislative priorities in Congress.

The president struck a decidedly partisan note in his address, castigating Senate Republicans in particular for using their 41-vote bloc to slow down and filibuster a number of pieces of legislation.

"What we need is a willingness in Washington to put the public’s interests first – a willingness to score fewer political points so that we can start solving more problems," Obama said. "That’s why I was disappointed this week to see a dreary and familiar politics get in the way of our ability to move forward on a series of critical issues that have a direct impact on people’s lives."

Progressive William Rivers Pitt has lost patience with the Obama regime and with British Petroleum (Enough of This Crap ^[1], June 15, Truthout). To break through the news blackout that BP maintains over the ongoing Gulf of Mexico oil spill, he wants a hundred thousand Americans to “just show the hell up down there and demand access.”

Pitt is correct that this “is the kind of direct action that has been missing from our national narrative, not just in the Gulf but all over.” Obama, he says correctly, is a “narcotic” for progressives. Apparently, for many progressives having a black man, or a 50% black man, in the White House is what is important, not the fact that he is a continuation of Bush/Cheney.

If a hundred thousand people marched on the Gulf Coast, “big things would happen.”

Pitt writes that “either the people would break through those unconscionable corporate barriers and show the world what is really going on in the Gulf, or the forces BP has arrayed against the truth would react with violence, which would tell us everything we need to know about what is happening, and would be enough to break that God damned criminal corporation finally and forever.”

Bill Randall, a North Carolina Republican candidate for Congress, is calling for a “thorough investigation” into whether President Barack Obama’s administration colluded with BP to allow the Gulf oil spill.

“There were procedures that were violated by BP that the federal government signed off on, safeguards that decades of engineering wherewithal and knowledge told them that this way the way to do it,” Randall told reporters earlier this week. “They intentionally bypassed that and the safety was compromised.”

Randall continued: “I’m not necessarily a conspiracy person, but I don’t think enough investigation has been done on this. Someone needs to be digging into that situation. Personally, and this is purely speculative on my part and not based on any fact, but personally I feel there is a possibility that there was some sort of collusion.”

Child abuse, human and drug smuggling, bribery, money laundering… These are just some of the crimes committed by employees at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as highlighted in a report issued by the DHS’ Office of Inspector General (OIG) in May.

From October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009, the OIG reviewed 16,777 complaints from which the Inspector opened 1,056 cases, closing just over 1,021 of them. Of those cases, 283 arrests were made, 248 indictments handed down and 241 convictions were ruled.

“Our work on those cases resulted in apprehension of persons with known links to terrorism, detection of immigration fraud, and arrests for alien and drug smuggling, contract fraud, and civil rights violations,” the report read. “The cases also resulted in over $85 million in fines, restitutions, administrative cost savings, and recoveries.”

In his testimony before the Homeland Security Committee in March, Thomas Frost, the assistant inspector general for investigations at DHS, stated, “The DHS OIG has statutory authority and responsibility to conduct criminal investigations into allegations of employee misconduct within the DHS. We investigate 100% of all allegations of serious criminal misconduct involving DHS employees. We investigate all allegations of corruption of DHS employees related to the security of the nation’s borders including the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and people.

“The corruption activities of drug trafficking organizations are not limited to those employees such as customs inspectors and border patrol officers whose duties are posting and patrolling the physical border, but encompass almost every layer of the DHS border security strategy,” he continued.

“We have had investigations involving DHS employees who were posted away from the border but who were targeted for corruption because of their value in providing access to sensitive law enforcement information or their ability to convey immigration benefits or otherwise assist drug trafficking organizations in evading our enforcement efforts,” Frost added.

The report, which divided up the crimes based on which agency the employee who committed them was working for, held some shocking revelations. United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers were convicted of such crimes as alien and narcotic smuggling, bribery, providing fraudulent documents, sexual exploitation of a minor, credit card fraud and sending child pornography over the Web.

Like most people I didn’t expect a lot from the President during his oval office speech. What I got was a whole new look at the Candidate in Chief.

The first thing I noticed during the speech: I had never seen such an empty desk before., It was so clear, you could see all the dents in the desk, from where the previous presidents actually did some work.

Much has been made about how President Obama didn’t really seem comfortable in the speech, that he looked more like a visiting college student who got to sit in the big chair for a couple minutes. It could explain why his poll numbers have dropped faster than a bowling ball out a campaign bus window.

It was also only a one tele-prompter speech. Usually he has a two tele-prompter setup so his head moves back and forth, like he’s watching a beer pong game.

It was highly uncomfortable to watch. His eyes were locked on the teleprompter, and his hands never stopped moving. You weren’t even sure the guy reading, was the same guy who was moving the hands. It was almost like watching the cookie monster give an oval office address.

I look at it a different way: from a comedian’s perspective. I’ve played some fairly hostile crowds during my years on the road. But the one kind of crowd I cannot tolerate is a small one. I think most comics will agree that one of the most terrifying places you can perform is to an empty room. (Of course since I’ve become big and famous, that rarely happens to me anymore.)

Every comic needs an audience. Those few minutes we’re on stage are the highlight of our week. It is the only time we feel alive, the only time we’re not consumed with self-doubt. Comics are narcissists. Comedy is much less a talent than a personality disorder. You wouldn’t see a lot of comics performing if there were a way that you could get self-worth out of a bottle—oh wait a minute, I think there is; and a lot of us do that as well.

How many times have we heard and read references and allusions made as to the insatiable desire of  the Marines for publicity. Marines usually just shrug this off, deny or ignore it, or sometimes attempt to explain away this accusation. Too often we just look upon things of this nature assuming it to be just a case of professional jealousy, etc. But many of us may be unaware of certain facts relating to this particular controversy. Can this be something more than just simple inter-service rivalry? When did it begin? Under what circumstances? Is there any basis to this accusation?

The origin of this squabble dates back to the days of the World War. Fortunately, the history of the Marine Corps in WW I is well documented, and the answers to the above questions are available to us. To begin with, General Pershing, and generally the rest of the U.S. Army, did not want the Marines involved in the AEF in Europe at all. The Major General Commandant, George Barnett, however, was determined that a Marine expeditionary force would become part of the AEF.

Marines had long been the chosen instrument of the U.S. State Department for use in trouble spots around the globe, serving both Corps and country well. As a result of their performance, Marines had gained the attention, interest, and respect of the American public. The often used headline of the media, “The Marines have landed and the situation is well in hand,” had long since become a familiar term and well-known to all. The Commandant, it seems, was well-connected politically, and he was able to convince those at the highest  levels of government of the need for Marines in the coming war. War against Germany was declared on 6 April, 1917. On 29 May, President Wilson approved the sending of a Marine regiment equipped as infantry. Later, another Marine regiment and other units, was authorized. The Marines’ slogan, “First To Fight,” was to be upheld.

General Pershing, learning of this was much chagrined, “speechless” as one writer puts it. Pershing then attempted to reverse the situation but he was unsuccessful. When it was suggested that Pershing could not provide transportation to Europe for the Marines, they arranged for their own transportation; when the supply system could not provide for the replacement of Marine uniforms and equipment, the Marines agreed to wear Army uniforms. Although the Marine Corps already had regiments prior to the World War, their composition in both organization and number was different from the Army’s, therefore numerous changes were quickly needed, and this accomplished. Whatever argument the Army managed to come up with, it was swiftly countered and overcome by the Marines.

When Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal watched the Marines raise the flag over Mount Surabachi he turned to General Holland Smith and said, “Holland, the raising of that flag on Suribachi means a Marine Corps for the next five hundred years.” Recent articles describing the demise of the amphibious mission suggest Forrestal may have been off by more than four centuries. Secretary of Defense Robert M. With pictures of oil-drenched birds, blackened beaches, and marshlands invaded with oil streaming across our televisions every day, it is easy to become angry and demand retribution from the cause of the disaster. Unfortunately, it is also easy for unscrupulous politicians to take that anger and turn it to their political advantage. History is replete with incidents of real popular anger leading to monstrous outcomes of tyranny. Yesterday the USA wrote a new anecdote in that awful book.

There is no doubt that the oil spill produced by the Deepwater Horizon rig and BP is a disaster of monumental ecological proportions. There is no doubt that the spill has caused the loss of livelihood for fishermen, hotel owners, beach surfboard renters, and millions of other people on the gulf coast. There is also no doubt that it is BPs responsibility to get the well shut off and pay for the cleanup. There is also no doubt that a full investigation should be conducted into how the spill happened, the role of BP and of the government in it, and the mistakes made in the cleanup. We should find out what caused the blowout, how it could have been prevented, why the cleanup was so slow in getting started, why foreign experts were not allowed to help, why the EPA is blocking applications of products as simple as hay which could soak up oil, and why Governor Jindal and others were disallowed the means to protect their shorelines by government bureaucracies.

US President Barack Obama would be granted powers to seize control of and even shut down the internet under a new bill that describes the global internet as a US “national asset”.

One of Australia’s top communications experts, University of Sydney associate professor Bjorn Landfeldt, railed against the idea, saying shutting down the internet would “inflict an enormous damage on the entire world”.

He said it would be like giving a single country “the right to poison the atmosphere, or poison the ocean”.

Imagine if Tea Partiers waving Gadsden flags had rioted, started fights with police and trashed public property in a major American city. The corporate media would be all over the story for weeks, lecturing us all about how it was an ominous sign of the rise of an extremist fringe that threatens to destabilize America.

However, when hordes of Los Angeles Lakers fans waving Mexican flags go drunken rampages, start fights with cops, attack motorists, start fires, and deface public property, as happened last night following the NBA Final, the press barely even takes notice. The story has received local coverage in the L.A. media, but it’s nowhere near a top story nationally. Do you think the same would be the case if anti-big government protesters had engaged in the kind of behavior seen last night?

“Crowds hurled bottles and other objects at police, smashed marquees, jumped on vehicles, broke windows, and set rubbish dumpsters and vehicles on fire along Figueroa Street north of Staples Center and on Flower Street,” reports the L.A. Times [2].

“Police fired non-lethal rounds to disperse the crowd at Figueroa and Venice Boulevard after several small fires were set, as well as at 11th and Hope streets. At 7th and Flower, a car believed to be a taxicab was engulfed in flames.”

Of course, the only question is why are they waving Mexican flags in America after attending an American basketball final? Do these individuals consider themselves to be Mexicans or Americans? These kind of scenes will only encourage other states to pursue similar laws to those that Arizona is attempting to enact in the face of White House lawsuits.

No matter what color you are, and let’s not forget that Hispanic-Americans and non-whites nationally are some of the strongest proponents of enforcing immigration laws [3], this kind of behavior should repulse everyone, especially considering the fact that these thugs are aggressively waving the flag of a foreign nation while engaging in this moronic and mindless violence.

1. Israeli nuclear submarines positioned close to Iran [3]:

Three German-built Israeli submarines equipped with nuclear cruise missiles are to be deployed in the Gulf near the Iranian coastline.

The first has been sent in response to Israeli fears that ballistic missiles developed by Iran, Syria and Hezbollah, a political and military organisation in Lebanon, could hit sites in Israel, including air bases and missile launchers.

The submarines of Flotilla 7 — Dolphin, Tekuma and Leviathan — have visited the Gulf before. But the decision has now been taken to ensure a permanent presence of at least one of the vessels.

2. Iran war propaganda [4]:

US intelligence has shown Iran could launch an attack against Europe with “scores or hundreds” of missiles, prompting major changes to US missile defenses, Pentagon chief Robert Gates said on Thursday.

The anti-Iran rhetoric has amplified following the revelation that many Bilderberg members, including Zbigniew Brzezinski, are now in favor of U.S. air strikes on Iran and are “leaning towards war,”.

“Some of them in Europe are saying no we shouldn’t do it but most of them are in favor of American air strikes on Iran,” Bilderberg sluth Jim Tucker relayed from the recent meeting in Spain. “They’re tilting heavily towards green lighting a U.S. attack on Iran.”

U.S. troops are being trained to conduct round-ups, confiscate guns and shoot American citizens, including their own friends and family members, as part of a long-standing program to prepare for the declaration of martial law, according to a soldier who recently returned from Iraq.

We received an e mail from "Scott", a member of a pipefitters union that runs an apprenticeship program called Helmets To Hard Hats, which according to its website, "Is a national program that connects National Guard, Reserve and transitioning active-duty military members with quality career training and employment opportunities within the construction industry."

Scott writes that his company hired a soldier who had recently returned from Iraq, who told him that U.S. troops were being quizzed on whether or not they would be prepared to shoot their own friends and family members during a national state of emergency in America.

"I have become very close to this young man and have gained his respect and trust," writes Scott. "I want you to know that he informed me about one particular training exercise his superiors made them perform. It was concerning the rounding up of American citizens that disobey any type of martial law or in other words any type of infringement on our freedoms."

"He was asked if he could shoot his friends or family members if ordered to do so. At the time he said he could," writes Scott.

Scott says that the soldier later "had time to clear his head" and realize the truth, recanting his vow to kill his own countrymen if ordered to do so.

The issue of whether U.S. troops would be prepared to round-up, disarm and if necessary shoot Americans who disobeyed orders during a state of martial law is a question that military chiefs have been attempting to answer for at least 15 years.

Its known origins can be traced back to an October 1994 Marine questionnaire out of the Twentynine Palms Marine Base in California. Recruits were asked 46 questions, including whether they would kill U.S. citizens who refused to surrender their firearms.

Documentary film maker Alex Jones brought to light similar training programs that were taking place across the country in the late 90’s which revolved around U.S. Marines being trained to arrest American citizens and take them to internment camps.

During one such program in Oakland California, dubbed "Operation Urban Warrior," Marines refused to answer if they would target American citizens for gun confiscation if ordered to do so.

During hurricane Katrina, National Guard units belonging to New Orleans residents.

As we first exposed in May 2006, Clergy Response Teams are being trained by the federal government and FEMA to "quell dissent" and pacify citizens to obey the government in the event of a declaration of martial law.

Pastors and other religious representatives are being taught to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to "obey the government" in preparation for the implementation of martial law, property and firearm seizures, mass vaccination programs and forced relocation.

Many scoffed at our original story, which was based on the testimony of a whistleblower who was asked to participate in the program. Claims that the story was a conspiracy theory soon evaporated when a mainstream KSLA news report confirmed the existence of the program.

The Afghan officers and enlisted men have security badges that give them access to secure U.S. defense installations, according to the lookout bulletin, "Afghan Military Deserters in CONUS [Continental
U.S.]," written by Naval Criminal Investigative Service in Dallas and obtained by FoxNews.com.

The Be-On-the-Lookout (BOLO) bulletin was distributed to local and federal law enforcement officials on Wednesday night.

The Afghans were attending the Defense Language Institute at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. The DLI program teaches English to military pilot candidates and other air force prospects from foreign countries allied with the U.S.

"I can confirm that 17 have gone missing from the Defense Language Institute," said Gary Emery, Chief of Public Affairs, 37th Training Wing, at Lackland AFB. "They disappeared over the course of the last two years, and none in the last three months."

The most recent Afghan to disappear from Lackland was First Lt. Javed Aryan, who went AWOL in January 2010, Emery told FoxNews.com. The others listed in the NCIS report disappeared at various times last year.

Each of the missing Afghans was issued a Department of Defense Common Access Card, an identification card used to gain access to secure military installations, with which they "could attempt to enter DOD installations," according to the bulletin. Base security officers were encouraged to disseminate the bulletin to their personnel.

"The visas issued to these personnel have been revoked, or are in the process of being revoked. Lookouts have been placed in TECS," it reads.

President Obama is planning to sneak through his job-killing, economy wrecking carbon tax by stealth according to the Washington Post, by passing a weakened bill and then adding in cap and trade provisions after the heat is off following the November elections.

Described as the “lame duck climate strategy,” Obama is planning to secure enough votes in the Senate to pass a weakened energy bill and then drag out the conference long enough to ensure the stronger provisions contained in the original House version are added “after lawmakers have faced voters in November, thereby cushioning the vote’s political impact.”

“Several sources familiar with the administration’s thinking confirmed it has started pressing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to bring up a slimmed-down energy and climate bill next month. Such a measure would pass more easily than a comprehensive climate bill, and could still be negotiated with the broader bill the House passed a year ago,” reports the Washington Post. [2]

Knowing that the “energy bill” represents nothing less than another massive plunder of the American taxpayer and is widely unpopular, Senators will only stab their constituents in the back and vote for the more nightmarish aspects of the legislation, including a tax on the very substance they exhale, after they have secured their seats in November.

As we highlighted last week, plans to impose a carbon tax on American citizens appeared to fade after Republican Senator Lindsey Graham shockingly reversed his views on climate change, telling a press conference that the science behind man-made global warming is in question and those pushing it are alarmists who have oversold the problem.

“The Senate is expected to try and push a watered down bill with the hope of moving towards a carbon tax later on,” we reported on June 10 [3], which is exactly the approach now being adopted by Obama.

As Jerrold Nadler, the New York congressman whose district includes the World Trade Center, said [3] today:

We’re repeating the same catastrophe in the Gulf. You see pictures of people wearing regular clothes who are wading in and scooping oil off the water. Hundreds, maybe thousands of people, are going to get sick unnecessarily.

More egregious still, sources on the ground say that BP is telling cleanup workers that they will be fired if they wear respirators:

Because – as part of their PR campaign – BP is doing everything it can to prevent dramatic pictures or headlines regarding the oil spill.

The media reaction to the Obama administration’s handling of the BP Gulf oil spill crisis has been a mixed bag. But it hasn’t been good.

Some are arguing President Barack Obama has gone too far and overstepped his legal authority and some are arguing he hasn’t gone far enough with the "boot on the throat" mentality. And on his June 17 Fox News Channel program, Glenn Beck played three separate examples of these differences you normally wouldn’t associate with one another – CNBC’s Matt Nesto, liberal flame-thrower and comedian Rosie O’Donnell and MSNBC’s Ed Schultz.

"Even the people at NBC are noticing maybe something is not right," Beck said.

Beck was referring to comments made by Nesto on CNBC’s June 16 "Closing Bell," which Nesto emphasized his concerned over the President’s action.

The President shall direct all Federal, State, and private actions to remove a discharge or mitigate or prevent the threat of a discharge from onshore or offshore facilities which is determined to be a substantial threat to the public health or welfare of the United States.—Clean Water Act 311 (c) (2)  (Link)

Doesn’t the above quote from the Clean Water Act say that “The President shall direct…the cleanup?”  So why is “Pass the Buck” Obama passing the… never mind, I answered my own question.
Still and all, why the heck is BP in charge of the oil spill—and don’t tell me because the Obama Administration and Congress are worried about the cost.  Heck, they’ve been spending money like it’s going out of style since Obama took office.  A billion here, a trillion there—it’s never been a problem for them to spend money before.  Our money. But that’s not what this article’s about, I’m mainly concerned with whether the oil spill was caused intentionally, or not, and if it was, would that constitute an act of war against the United States?
You would think that our government (which supposedly protects us from such stuff) would be showing a tad more interest in getting to the bottom of things.(Link)

You would think that our military, which used to swear an oath the protect America from all enemies, “foreign and domestic,” would be a bit more concerned.  I guess they don’t take that oath anymore.  (Link)

How did the oil spill start?  The mundane, if unlikely answer, is greed and human stupidity caused it.  I say “unlikely” for two reasons: The number of “fail-safe” protocols, techniques, and equipment that all failed at the same time, and 2) the all-too-convenient timing of the “accident.” (Link)

Before the Deepwater Horizon fiasco, the Lieberman-Kerry “Cap-and-Trade” bill was stalled in Congress.  With the loss of trillions of dollars at stake, with the likely collapse of the CCX (Chicago Climate eXchange), and the “redistribution of wealth” scenario coming apart, what to do, what to do?  (Link)
Enter the old Far Left hoary saw, “When all else fails, force it!”—jam it down America’s throat, ala Bill Maher’s suggestion.

There are a lot of “heavy hitters” surrounding the CCX—Goldman Sachs, Al Gore, BP, George Soros, to name just a few.  And there are a number of possible culprits directly responsible for the oil spill: BP, Halliburton, Cameron, Boots and Coots, Transocean….  (Link)

He lashed out at BP over the monumental oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. He vowed that he will make BP pay for all the long and short-term damage it caused. It’s a rumor that dates back decades: To keep the sexual appetites of recruits in check so they can focus on basic training, the military services sneak saltpeter into the food served to new soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines.

Jeff Schogol, the “Rumor Doctor” at Stars and Stripes, actually went to the trouble of getting the services to respond to this legend. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that he got a series of strenuous denials.

“The rigors of basic training alone are sufficient to keep the urges at abeyance,” an Army spokesman reported. “Keep in mind that it’s not just recruits that dine in our recruit messing facilities but all authorized patrons,” the Marines said. “Though the rumor persists in some imaginations, for the Air Force it has never been true,” a service spokesman said. The Navy likewise quashed the legend. And the Defense Logistics Agency said there’s “no way” sexual suppressants are added to any meals served to the troops.

On Tuesday evening, with the disaster now pushed into a continual downward spiral, the President addressed the nation. By pushing the cap and trade agenda he was attempting to blow smoke to his sheeple. Lots of interesting keywords and phrases were used in the speech to quail the fear throughout the general public. During the speech, Obama had this to say about stopping this horrific spill, “Stopping it has tested the limits of human technology.”

An interesting statement, considering it is still testing the limits of human technology, and until it is stopped, it will forever test those limits. Obama went on to say, “This is the worst disaster we have ever faced….. More like an epidemic, one that will continue for months or even years.” He mentioned how 30,000 people are working on the spill along with 17,000 National Guard.

For anyone who still denies military involvement, it is time to wake up and smell the coffee, or should I say ” wake up and smell the Corexit ?” Obama clearly stated in his speech, ” I authorized governors in the effected areas to activate troops as soon as possible”.

Gov. Deval Patrick signed a supplemental bill that included language added as an amendment by state senator Richard R. Tisei that exempts Junior ROTC instructors at public high school across the state from having to pay union fees. Juan Martinez, Patrick’s press secretary, confirmed that the ROTC provision was signed.

It was passed by the Massachusetts Senate and House earlier this week.

Sen. Tisei introduced legislation last week on behalf of Maj. Stephen L. Godin, a retired Marine and senior naval science instructor at the Naval Junior ROTC at North High in Worcester. Godin told who said he receives medical and dental benefits and half his salary from the military and refused to join the union or pay it’s “agency fee,” which is assessed to offset the union’s collective bargaining costs.

The second is to demand resignation, where the people actually demand that a sitting president resign as they did when the pressure was put on Richard Nixon, for example. Now with that pressure and declining popularity dipping into 40% support, then 30, then 20%…basically, it’s a no-confidence vote of the people that this executive is not doing the job for America. So then you have the demand-resignation pressure that could occur on the part of the people of the country, and other leadership, corporate as well as political, that could create a tremendous demand that this administration resign. And I’m not talking only about Obama resigning for incompetence, corruptness, fraud, lying, and treasonous occurrences in his administration which are violations of his oath and violation of the Constitution, but also his entire political apparatus in Washington and those who contributed to the corruption. So there is plenty of material there that should create enough public support that they demand his resignation.

MRS. RONDEAU: I heard the broadcast on Chalice’s show last Monday wherein General Cash and you called for having Obama and his regime removed from office. How do you think the American people could get that done?

GEN. VALLELY: When you go back to the Constitution, it says that it’s the people’s right to remove a government, hopefully through a peaceful process.
