I recently received an e-mail that made my skin crawl. It was in response to a spiritually oriented article.
The e-mailer, Carl, penned the following, which was short, but not sweet:
Jesus and his followers must be destroyed. They are responsible for all the evil in the world.
After opening this mail, I sat frozen in my seat for several minutes. I felt like I had seen something that human eyes shouldn’t behold, like I had happened upon a gruesome crime scene.

Rush Limbaugh has made a brilliant suggestion for a nationwide civil disobedience reaction to the judge striking down the Arizona illegal immigration law: EVERYONE leave your Drivers Licences at home and reply to EVERY official request for identification with “NO HABLO INGLES” and force all law enforcement to arrest you and run down your ID themselves and then take them to court for illegally requiring citizens to identify themselves while looking the other way for illegal aliens. With full participation by ALL CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES nationwide, the entire legal system can be brought to IT’S KNEES IN ONE DAY.

News headlines state [2] that cleanup workers are having a hard time finding oil.
Sounds good, right?
Actually, if BP had let things run their course:
- Oil-skimming vessels could have sucked up most of the oil
- Booms would have stopped most of the oil from hitting the shore
- And oil-eating bacteria would have broken down most of the remaining oil
Instead, BP has used millions of gallons of dispersants to hide the oil by breaking it up, so it sinks beneath the surface [3].
That means that oil-skimming vessels can’t find it or suck it up. As the Times-Picayune pointed out [4] on July 16th:

Take a look at this great article on Obama’s commission to investigate the Gulf spill. The commission’s focus on drilling safety will be cursory — only to check the box that it took an alleged hard look at the issue. The obvious goal of the environmental activists on the commission will be to draw preconceived conclusions in order to justify regulating/taxing the oil & gas industry out of existence. – Sarah Palin
The commission appointed by President Obama to investigate the Gulf oil spill (the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling) does not include a single member with specialized knowledge of petroleum engineering. This is akin to performing a heart transplant with a surgical team that has never set foot in an operating room. Of the seven members appointed to the commission, not one is a petroleum engineer, and all have long-standing ties to the environmental movement.

Of all the recent revelations to come out of JournoList, an e-mail list consisting of about 400 liberal/left journalists, perhaps the most telling is the depth of their hatred for conservatives. That these journalists would consult with one another in order to protect candidate and then President Obama and in order to hurt Republicans is unfortunate and ugly. What is jolting is the hatred of conservatives on display, as exemplified by the e-mail from a public-radio reporter expressing her wish to personally see Rush Limbaugh die a painful death — and the apparent absence of any objection from her fellow liberal journalists.
Every one of us on the right has seen this hatred. I am not referring to leftist bloggers or to anonymous comments by angry leftists on conservative blogs — such things exist on the right as well — but to mainstream, elite liberal journalists. There is simply nothing analogous among elite conservative journalists. Yes, nearly all conservatives believe that the Left is leading America to ruin. But while there is plenty of conservative anger over this fact, there is little or nothing on the right to match the Left’s hatred of conservative individuals. Would mainstream conservative journalists e-mail one another wishes that they could be present while Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi or Michael Moore died slowly and painfully of a heart attack?

Last night on MSNBC’s the Ed Show; Host Ed Schutlz had a warning to, “all the right wing bloggers out there.” He wanted to let them know that “there’s more where that came from,” in reference to his comment at the Netroots Nation conference, that he’s,
“…really sorry that Glenn Beck’s going blind because I think it’s a travesty he’s not going to see the country he’s trying to destroy. Because that’s what they’re doing.”
This quasi-threat came at the end of a segment in which Howard Dean, continued spouting off about how racist Fox News was (except Chris Wallace of course). Howard Dean has been making the rounds the last few weeks, letting anyone who will listen to him, know that Fox News is racist. He even had the gall to go on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace and let all the Fox viewers know just how racist they are.
