As I have stated before, I don’t remember any Muslims traveling with Columbus, coming over on the Mayflower or signing the Constitution.
Now if this were the early 1940′s and your last name was Shultz or Yamato, even more people would question you.I’m sure that all Muslims are not terrorists, but when the World Trade Center was destroyed, there was dancing in the streets throughout the Muslim world. This is one reason why people don’t like Muslims.

This quarrel started last year. In 2009, Governor Perry accepted $3.2 billion in federal stimulus money for its education fund. However, Perry did not use the money to supplement the state’s education fund as the federal government had intended it. Instead he cut the state’s education funding and used the stimulus money to fill the gap.
That allowed Texas to boost its rainy day fund, bringing it to a little over $9 billion.Perry’s actions infuriated Democrats who wanted states to increase their spending, not cut back and save. Lloyd Doggett, a Democrat Congressman from Austin was one of the biggest critics of Perry’s actions. In order to ensure the same thing does not happen with the $26 billion package, $830 million of which was pledged to Texas, Doggett drafted an amendment that requires only Texas to certify that it will not reduce the state’s education spending at any time within the next three years in order to receive the funds. Unfortunately, this mandate attempt by Doggett to punish Texas for fiscal responsibility is unconstitutional. Article 8, Section 6 of the Texas Constitution states:”No money shall be drawn from the Treasury but in pursuance of specific appropriations made by law; nor shall any appropriation of money be made for a longer term than two years.”
Therefore, the governor cannot bind the next legislative session to an assurance as the Doggett Amendment requires. Perry blasted Doggett for the amendment, which could prevent Texas from receiving its share of the education funds:”This amendment mandates that the governor guarantee the Legislature will provide a certain level of state funding through 2013, a funding scheme prohibited by the Texas Constitution. It will be at least June 1, 2011, before the Legislature passes and the Comptroller certifies the 2012-2013 budget. That means Texas – the only state singled out with this mandate – might not be able to use any of these funds provided to states.

It is unbelievable to me that I even have to mention such a thing as the right for our overseas military to get their votes counted in time for elections, but I do.
We saw the absurdity in the 2008 election where 17,000 votes that we know of of overseas military votes were not counted for the general Presidential election. That was a shocking horror show then to most of America and thankfully to some in our congress who created a law, the Move Act, requiring all states to send out ballots at least 45 days in advance to make sure overseas military had time to vote before the election. Hopefully this protective law would solve this voting problem…not.
It is unforgivable to not allow our soldiers who are facing bullets, terrorists, fear and death daily to even vote in time regardless of the state’s excuses for not sending them out on time! Here they are taking hails of bullets and sacrificing their lives to protect our rights to vote, yet we can’t go out of our way to make sure they get to vote as well!

Furious that state involvement in major terror attacks is being exposed to a wider audience than ever before via the Internet, a UK think tank closely affiliated with the Downing Street has called for authorities to infiltrate conspiracy websites in an effort to “increase trust in the government”.“A Demos report published today, The Power of Unreason, argues that secrecy surrounding the investigation of events such as the 9/11 New York attacks and the 7/7 bombings in London merely adds weight to unsubstantiated claims that they were “inside jobs,” reports the London Independent.
In other words, the fact that the overwhelming amount of evidence indicates that both 7/7 and 9/11 were “inside jobs” of one form or another, and that huge numbers of people are now aware of this via the increasing influence of the Internet, is hampering efforts to commit more acts of terror, therefore the government needs to change its strategy.In the report, Demos, “Recommends the Government fight back by infiltrating internet sites to dispute these theories.” One of the tools Demos already employs to “fight back” against conspiracy theories is by labeling anyone who challenges the government’s official story as an extremist or a terrorist recruiter.
The strategy mirrors that advocated by White House information czar Cass Sunstein, who in a 2008 white paper similarly called for conspiracy websites to be infiltrated and undermined in order to dilute their influence. In the same report, Sunstein also called for taxing conspiracy theories any viewpoint that differs with the official version and outright banning free speech that the authorities disapproved of.
What Demos and Sunstein are essentially calling for is classic “provocateur” style infiltration, updated for the 21st century, that came to the fore during the Cointelpro years, an FBI program from 1956-1971 that was focused around disrupting, marginalizing and neutralizing political dissidents, often using illegal methods.

Other than hanging some large pieces of art and a few drapes in our 4,500 sq ft beachside castle no moat, but as secure, we’re almost settled now and ready to meet new people and learn more about Baja California.This morning, we dropped by the offices of Baja123 to say hello to our friends, the owners of Baja123, David and Kanoa Biondolillo, and they suggested we would enjoy meeting a friend of theirs, Douglas Welch, Corporate Director, Santa Barbara Luxury Living at Bajamar, located just 24 miles South of Rosarito near Ensenada, a city of 450,000 people, and only 50 miles from San Diego.
Arrangements were quickly made by phone for a tour of the property and lunch at the Bajamar Hotel. We jumped at the opportunity to see the property and meet Douglas.Thirty minutes later, we pulled into the palatial security gates of Bajamar and drove through their graciously appointed grounds, jogging and walking trails, three beautifully manicured nine-hole golf courses with an ocean view on every hole we later learned the courses were often compared to Pebble Beach, and small boutique-type vacation homes and mansions along decorative stamped concrete streets.
We both commented that we felt like we’d landed in a private paradise.

In an exclusive interview with Kitco News, Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) revealed that next year at the start of the newly inaugurated 112th United States Congress, he would introduce a new bill to audit the U.S. gold reserves, which are reportedly stored at the New York Federal Reserve and Fort Knox.
The reason behind this bill is that in the event “we ever get around to deciding we should use gold in relationship to our currency, we ought to know how much is there,” Paul told Kitco.
“Our Federal Reserve admits to nothing, and they should prove all the gold is there. There is a reason to be suspicious, and even if you are not suspicious, why wouldn’t you have an audit?” said Paul.
This is not the first time Rep. Ron Paul has suggested that there be a full audit of the county’s gold reserves. Paul recalled that “In the early 1980s when I was on the gold commission, I asked to recommend to Congress that they audit the gold reserves – we had 17 members of the commission and 15 voted not to [recommend] the audit.”
The two votes in favor of an audit came from the two gold advocates who pushed for the creation of the commission in the first place – Senator Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) and Rep. Ron Paul.
At the time, Sen. Helms and Rep. Paul were the leaders of Congress’s gold coalition, which included Republicans Sen. James McClure of Idaho, Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona, Rep. Philip Crane of Illinois, Rep. James Collins of Texas, Rep. Steven Symms of Idaho, and Democratic Rep. Larry McDonald of Georgia, the latter of whom was at the time also a National Council member of the John Birch Society.
In fact, Rep. McDonald introduced a similar bill to that of Ron Paul’s newly proposed 2011 gold reserve audit bill. In 1979, Rep. McDonald sponsored H.R. 555, entitled: “A bill to require the Comptroller General of the United States to audit annually the gold held by the United States on the first day of each fiscal year and to report his findings to Congress.” McDonald presented the same bill again the next year, this time as H.R.555, and was unable to garner any cosponsors.

Today the very popular, Glenn Beck, who has risen to fame and fortune on the FOX Network, is holding an event in Washington, DC. To say it has caused a firestorm of nasty projectiles from all camps is an understatement.
While billed as a non political event, Restoring Honor, one of the key note speakers is one of America’s premiere political animals and opportunist extraordinaire, Sarah Palin, who has also risen to fame and fortune with her quaint, folksy, ‘tough’ gal image. Knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and how government systems actually work isn’t part of her rhetoric.
Race baiting money grubbers like the “Reverend” Al Sharpton have their jockeys in a twist because today is the commemorative date for Martin Luther King‘s famous speech, ‘I Have a Dream.’ How dare anyone else hold a rally in Washington, DC on the same day and cut into Sharpton’s day of glory! Beck insists he was unaware of the date; it’s up to you to believe him. I happen to think it’s likely he didn’t remember. If not for the dust up, would you remember “this Saturday is the date MLK gave one of his famous speeches”? As someone who planned a major rally back on September 29, 1993, at the nation’s capitol, my biggest consideration was the rally had to take place before Congress adjourned for the year, not who might have given a famous speech on the same day. Beck claims he scheduled it for Saturday and not Sunday for religions reasons.
Let me get on everyone’s bad side here by pointing out a few inconvenient truths.

I think it is a sign of the times…the so called leadership is so far out of touch, they think that a beret will make a difference. The USAF tried to improve pilot retention by issuing WW2 type leather jackets to all pilots…didn’t work, this won`t either. About 40 years ago it was suggested to USMC Commandant David Shoup, that perhaps the Marines should adopt beret. General Shoup`s reply was “ Why would anyone want to look like a faggot or a Frenchman?”

He has claimed that Osama bin Laden is in the pay of the CIA and that President George Bush summoned up the al-Qaida leader whenever he needed to increase the fear quotient.

Ron Zaleski, barefoot and covered with a sandwich board reading “18 Vets a Day commit suicide,” approached a man in a Jonesborough parking lot Friday.
The Vietnam-era Marine Corps veteran had just been rebuffed by a woman in an adjacent lot but was undeterred in his quest to garner support for more suicide prevention counseling for soldiers and veterans.Roger Kennedy of Piney Flats was more receptive.
“I’m a veteran, too,” Kennedy told Zaleski as the latter explained how he is walking across the United States on foot and will present his petition and case in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 11, 2011.The pair briefly swapped experiences — Kennedy served in Vietnam during a 1969-1972 Army stint, while Zaleski remained stateside during his service from 1970-72 — and Zaleski told Kennedy why he thought more could be done to prevent suicides among soldiers and sailors returning from combat.“Look what they didn’t do for us,” Kennedy said of what many Vietnam veterans see as a lack of government support for combat veterans during the 1970s. “And now here they are not doing it again.”Indeed, a U.S. Defense Department task force reported just this week that suicides among active-duty military members have continued a dramatic rise that began several years ago.

Americans respect family. Normally, most any of us can rapidly rattle off extended family trees, recite dates and locations of births or marriages and navigate complicated half- and step-relationships.
Is it just me or is Barack Obama not one of us when it comes to family memories?At every turn his basic life story is fraught with questions on the most elementary details.
Let’s review:1 – Where did his parents meet? Obama says, in Russian-language class at the University of Hawaii. But a photo shows his grandfather Stanley greeting Barack Sr. as if he already knew him on his arrival to Hawaii, among several convivial photos of Barack Sr. without Obama’s mother Ann.
Control of the House, and possibly the Senate, could come down to tough races in states like Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, and Florida. In close races, absentee and military ballots can play a large role in determining the winners. However, some states may not get the ballots to military voters and their families in time to be counted despite the passage of legislation that require states to have a 45-day window on ballot delivery, as Fox News reported early today:Sens.
Russ Feingold of Wisconsin and Michael Bennet of Colorado are just two incumbents locked in tight re-election races in states where local officials have warned they will likely not be able to ship out generalelection ballots to overseas military voters by the Sept. 18 deadline. Both Democrats’ race are listed as “toss-ups” by RealClearPolitics.com, and military ballots could make the difference.But Wisconsin and Colorado are among 10 states where local officials say they may not be able to comply with Move Act provisions that call for ballots to be mailed out at least 45 days before the 2010 midterm election.Fox News has identified four states — Wisconsin, Colorado, Maryland and Washington — where races may hinge on those absentee ballots and on whether their delivery works as intended on behalf of the fighting men and women abroad….t’s also unclear how the states will remediate the situation.
They can extend the time to accept the military ballots, and some have already done that, as Fox reports further. Wisconsin and Colorado still will have less time than 45 days for military voters to return ballots even with the extension already planned. One expert contacted by Fox suggested that the situation may not be a big problem, as states could deliver ballots by e-mail to the soldiers for printing and completing by hand.How big of an impact might this have? Sean Trende at RealClearPolitics reminds us of how close things got in previous elections:“Russ Feingold’s election in 1998 was decided by fewer than 40,000 votes. This time around, our polls are showing him leading by one percentage point or maybe down by one point,” said Sean Trende of RealClearPolitics.com. “So there is a chance that the 15,000 or so overseas military ballots could be what decides that election, if it ends up within 1,000 votes, which is entirely possible.”
At this point, the Move Act seems a little toothless. None of the reports indicates what kind of penalties states face for noncompliance. The military voters are the only ones penalized, it seems, by a failure of states to prepare better for their elections and their men and women serving in the armed forces.

In Washington, politicians always like to release bad news on a Friday, as fewer people notice.
Today, the Pentagon announced that it had granted the waiver requests of five states seeking to escape requirements to protect military voters.
I have written previously here at PJM that all waiver requests should be denied. Unfortunately, if you are an overseas servicemember from Delaware, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington, the protections in the MOVE Act aren’t going to apply to you this year. And if you are from one of the states who still aren’t in compliance with MOVE — like Colorado, Wisconsin, or Alaska — don’t be surprised if you get scant help from Attorney General Eric Holder.
Waivers can be granted from MOVE only if states find a way to make sure the votes of servicemembers are still counted.Washington, despite having plenty of time after an August 17 primary to get the job done, received a waiver today. Washington was unwilling to change their schedule of ballot preparation to allow for 45 days mailing time. Though modern printing technology makes the Washington waiver unnecessary, it was granted.Delaware election director Elaine Manlove says the state can get ballots out in time — but applied for a waiver “just in case.” Delaware’s waiver was motivated by caution, but caution isn’t a basis for the granting of a waiver. The law says “undue hardship.” However, waiver granted.
Rhode Island shared Delaware’s risk aversion: Spokesman Chris Barnett says they asked for a waiver in case they had a recount in the primary. A hypothetical “undue hardship.” Waiver granted.Since MOVE passed last October, Massachusetts did nothing to adjust their late September 14 primary to comply.
This was the same state that introduced and passed legislation in mere days so that Senator Paul Kirk could be sworn in to vote for ObamaCare. The legislature previously stripped Republican Mitt Romney of the power to appoint replacements and required a special election. It’s a shame soldiers aren’t as important as Senator Kirk’s vote was. Waiver granted.

Michael Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York who backs the Ground Zero mosque, is a perfect multiculturalist. As such he sees blindness to cultural diversity as a virtue. And so, to prove himself meritorious, he jettisoned all discretion and hosted an Islamic holiday celebration with the mosque’s backers.
This is extremely dangerous.
We need politicians who take diversity seriously.In their blanket attempts to get us to “celebrate diversity” multiculturalists refuse to acknowledge that cultures can have bad sides.
