GOP Presses Obama on ‘Amnesty Memo’

Sen. David Vitter, R-La., on Sunday told Fox News he and his colleagues are trying to determine whether the administration has seriously considered mass legalization for illegal immigrants based on a newly discovered memo outlining ways to grant legalization without going through Congress. The draft memo, first obtained by Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley’s office from the U.S. Customs & Immigration Services, outlines ways the administration was exploring to legalize swaths of illegal immigrants “in the absence of Comprehensive Immigration Reform,” according to Fox News.

“Then this 11-page memo has gotten out, and it’s not alleged anymore,” Vitter told Fox News. “It’s right there in black and white. So, again, we’re reiterating our strong concerns, and still no answer.”Excerpt Read more at newsmax.com …

Mexican Drug Cartel Allegedly Puts a Price on Arizona Sheriff’s Head

by Iam1ru1-2$1M offered for Arpaio, $1K to join cartel Updated: Monday, 02 Aug 2010, 11:48 AM MDT Published : Thursday, 29 Jul 2010, 6:48 PM MDTPHOENIX –

He’s been at the center of the discussions and controversies surrounding illegal immigration enforcement in Arizona for quite a while. On the day parts of Arizona’s immigration law, SB 1070, went into effect, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in the news for another reason: there’s a price on his head – allegedly offered by a Mexican drug cartel. The audio message in Spanish is a bit garbled, but the text is clear.”It’s offering a million dollars for Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s head and offering a thousand dollars for anyone who wants to join the Mexican cartel.

“A man who wants to remain anonymous says his wife received the text message Tuesday evening. It also included an international phone number and instructions to pass the message along.”

She showed it to me..I was kind of disgusted..I reported it to the Sheriff’s department yesterday..they said they were going to direct the threat squad on it.”Lisa Allen of the Sheriff’s office says they believe the message originated in Mexico.Although the Sheriff has received numerous death threats in the past, they believe this threat is credible because of its timing.”Arpaio gets threats pretty routinely, but obviously with this heightened awareness of his role in the immigration issue we’ve got to take this one a little bit more seriously with a million dollar contract out on him,” said Allen. But she says what really concerns investigators is how quickly the message may have been spread. “It’s going so many different places that our folks are looking at it and thinking well at any given point in time it could land in front of some crazy person who thinks I can do that.”As for Arpaio’s reaction to the threat, “It’s a little bit like water off a duck’s back for him, but you never know if it’s that sense of false bravado with him..you just can’t read it, I’m sure he’s concerned, I’m sure he’s concerned for his family more than anything else,” said Allen.

The Sheriff’s office says investigators are trying to trace exactly where the text message came from, but because it did originate from an international number, that will be difficult too.

I think that the oppression threatening democracies will not be like anything there has been in the world before….I see an innumerable crowd of men, all alike and equal, turned in upon themselves in a restless search for those petty, vulgar pleasures with which they fill their souls….Above these men stands an immense and protective power which alone is responsible for looking after their enjoyments and watching over their destiny. It is absolute, meticulous, ordered, provident, and kindly disposed. It would be like a fatherly authority, if, fatherlike, its aim were to prepare men for manhood, but it seeks only to keep them in perpetual childhood; it prefers its citizens to enjoy themselves provided they have only enjoyment in mind.

It works readily for their happiness but it wishes to be the only provider and judge of it. It provides their security, anticipates and guarantees their needs, supplies their pleasures, directs their principal concerns, manages their industry, regulates their estates, divides their inheritances….Thus, it reduces daily the value and frequency of the exercise of free choice; it restricts the activity of free will within a narrower range and gradually removes autonomy itself from each citizen. Equality has prepared men for all this, inclining them to tolerate all these things and often even to see them as a blessing.

Origin and Evolution Of OohRah In The USMC…By Gunny GGunny G’s Sites & Forums ^ | 12 August 2002 | Dick GainesPosted on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 7:39:30 PM by gunnygOohRah!Ever wonder where some of the most common of our Marine Corps history came from? Things like the term “Jarhead,” etc.? Most of these things are pretty well known by all Marines. But, then, there are also numerous cases where our accepted history is just plain inaccurate. For instance, Major Devereaux’s last message from the besieged Wake Island in early World War Two–”Send Us More Japs”–or that the red stripe on the blue uniform trousers of officers and NCOs sometimes referred to as bloodstripes commemorates the Marine blood spilled at the battle of Chapultapec in 1847. These two items are not true, and there are many more things like this that I have addressed elsewhere on my websites. And then there are some cases where the origin of certain traditions are altogether unknown. Take for example, the case of the well known OohRah! What is its origin? What is its meaning? When and where did it start? Is it related to similar cries now in use by other military services? Nobody knows for sure. Yeah, most everybody has an opinion, but what is the straight scoop? Some of the more popular “opinions” on this include that OohRah comes from either take your pick a Turkish or a Russian battle cry, and was somehow adopted by U.S. Marines. For many years, I, myself, leaned in the direction that it may have originated with the 1956 film, The DI, starring Jack Webb as T/Sgt Jim Moore, who, in that movie, commands his recruit platoon, “Let me hear you ROAR, tigers!”

How to Lobby Congress

Fair Use Notice

A common sense party

by

Smokey Briggs

I am going to start my own political party to compete with the Democrats and the Republicans and Whalekissers and the rest. I am going to call it the Common Sense Party.

Sometime about the time I was born Americans tossed common sense out the window.

From talking with my grandparents and parents, I am pretty sure that there was a time when regular people had common sense.

More important, they were not afraid to use it, and to state in public what was simply the common sense God gave a horse.

It seems that sometime around 1965 the era of common sense ended, and the era of double- and triple-triple talking lawyers and politically correct bureaucrats began.

Since then, politics and culture in this country have gotten sillier and sillier — except that a lot of the silly people are deadly serious.

I have come to the conclusion that the biggest problem with our entire political/cultural debate for the past 50 years is that there is any debate at all.

Much of what we have supposedly been debating concerns ideas that are so stupid that to seriously discuss them is a disservice to our ancestors who managed to swing down out of the trees, start eating meat and grow bigger brains.

If a fellow walked up to you and said, “Starting a fire is easier if the wood is wet,” would you debate it with him?

You might as well have a debate with a corner post for all the good it would do. You could wax eloquent for an hour stringing logic and nailing fact into a beautiful fence of reason, and it would not matter.

The guy is a moron, and morons and logic (and common sense) do not get along.

Here are a few examples from my lifetime of debates that should never have been:

Dr. Spock was a moron (and I’m not talking about the guy with pointy ears on Star Trek). Spock was the idiot who started the entire “Don’t spank your kids,” movement. There is no punishment suitable for him — yes there is — he should be locked in a room with 100 ill-mannered bratty children who are the product of his advice.

Good people are the product of good children. Good children are the product of discipline. This is common sense. Spock should have been laughed off the continent.

Federal and state control of schools: In 1950, schools were controlled by the local tax payers who paid for them. It was not perfect, but judging from the success on all fronts by the men and women who were products of these less-than-perfect-schools, the schools did pretty good.

Then we turned our schools over to the state, and the feds.

Is there anybody out there willing to say with a straight face that we are doing better today, after 50-plus years of bureaucratic nonsense?

Local control is better than state control — common sense.

Abortion:  in 1973 the Supreme Court “found” that women have a constitutional right to have an abortion. I suspect their discovery had a lot to do with the drugs available in the early 70s because no such right exists.

Read the Constitution — it’s not in there. Not even close. You have to be absolutely 100 percent lacking in common sense to believe that it is.

Our ever-escalating war on drugs — was dreamed up by a moron. People want drugs. I don’t know why, and I don’t care. Outlawing drugs was a governmental gift to the alcohol producers and nothing more. Prohibition does not work — ever. Read a history book.

Today we have more people per capita locked up than freedom-loving outfits like China and Russia. Most of them are doing time for non-violent drug crimes. We spend oodles of tax dollars keeping them locked up, and oodles more paying policemen to go catch more of them.

In the process we have managed to militarize (and often corrupt) our police and they spend most of their time playing Cops and Al Capone rather than patrolling a neighborhood.

Prohibition put the big money in drugs. Remove the prohibition, remove the money, remove the crime.

And no the price this country is paying is not worth “keeping just one child off drugs.”

Keeping a child off drugs is a parent’s problem, not a government’s, and certainly not mine as a tax payer.

Anyway, the government has failed miserably for 50 years. At some point, common sense needs to kick in.

Gun control — jungle law is when the biggest, meanest, genetically luckiest freak can lord his desires over everyone else because he is a lucky genetic freak.

Civilization began when one of your ancestors who was not endowed with enormous biceps, but did have a brain, picked up a sharp stick and stuck it in Mr. I’m Really Big’s heart.

Guns are a huge improvement over sharp sticks and allow those of us who have not spent the past 10 years in prison pumping iron and learning jujitsu to keep jungle law from becoming the law of the land.

Common sense.

Women’s Lib: The Women’s Lib movement has to be the worst horse trade of all of human history.

It was a sucker’s bet from the get-go because to succeed the very nature of man and woman had to change.

The relationship of man and woman is something that has been forged over millions of years — you don’t change that in a few decades, or probably ever. My grandmother knew this, but she used common sense.

Women’s libbers managed to trade all the perks of being a woman in a Western European culture, for all the crummy parts of being a man in a Western European culture. Anybody with an ounce of common sense knows that men and women are different. We complete each other, but that is not the same thing as saying we are the same or even equal. We are not, and common sense says so.

Last, and probably the most overarching, monumental defiance of commonsense is the idea that government of any form does anything better than private enterprise.

Common sense says different. Government, day in and day out, makes a muddle of the simplest of tasks.

Trash disposal, paving streets, getting sewage to run downhill — I’m not talking rocket science here.

When human beings are left to their own devices, great things happen. Put the government in charge and get ready to watch the equivalent of ten monkeys playing with a live hand grenade — only you have to watch while tied to a chair ten feet away and forced to pay ever increasing amounts of money for the pleasure.

None of these things should have been debated.

Polite debate gave the mental ramblings of idiots legitimacy.

As a Common Sense Party candidate, I promise to refuse to debate any of these topics, or any similar topics. Doing so would only lower my IQ.

Instead, I propose that when any common sense-lacking joker stands up and says something stupid like: “I have a constitutional right to health care,” or “Our schools just need more money,” we all just laugh, and laugh, and laugh, until finally they slink away.

Debating them is a fool’s game and does not make a lick of sense.

Most of this will sound chillingly familiar to those now enduring the Obammunist era… and it will BLOW YOUR MINDAllow a former KGB agent to school you in just 8 minutes on the permanent damage they did to our nation’s morale… and how that work’s being exploited and continued by the smiley-face Stalinists that run America today:

“This is what will happen to America if you let all these schmucks bring you to crisis- to promise people all kinds of goodies, and paradise on earth, to destabilize your economy, to eliminate the principle of free-market competition… and to put a Big Brother government in Washington DC, with benevolent dictators…”

An illegal alien in Polk County Florida who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop ended up ‘executing’ the deputy who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed. A state-wide manhunt ensued.
The murderer was found hiding in a wooded area and as soon as he took a shot at the SWAT team, officers opened fire on him.
They hit the guy 68 times.
..Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they had to shoot the poor undocumented immigrant 68 times.

A Visitor From The Pastby Thelen Paulk

I had a dream the other night I didn’t understand.A figure walking through the mist with a flintlock in his hand. His clothes were torn and dirty, as he stood there by my bed. He took off his three cornered hat and speaking low, he said: “We fought a revolution, to secure our liberty. We wrote the Constitution, as a shield from tyranny. For future generations, this legacy we gave, in this, the land of the free and the home of the brave. You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun.

Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one. On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent. Although you have no voice in choosing, how the money’s spent.”

The Stark Reality

The American Thinker ^

| August 02, 2010 | Sally ZelikovskyPosted on Monday, August 02, 2010 5:43:51 AM by Scanian

At the end of June, the nation witnessed firsthand the behavior of California Congressman, Fortney “Pete” Stark, towards what he clearly regards as the commoners in his district. This video received over 259,000 hits from a populace tired of being told by elected officials across the land to “talk to the hand.

“Stark’s contemptuous behavior just reared its ugly head once again this past Saturday, July 24th at another town hall meeting in his district. video link As evidenced by the endless repertoire of snarky comments and silly hand gestures, Fortney “Pete” Stark is consistently contemptuous of the good people who will vote in November.

This chronic scorn qualifies Stark as one leftwing politician who cannot claim the defense of having misspoken and then continue on his marauding way through Congress — slashing jobs, ransacking businesses and raping bank accounts — pillaging hard-working Americans and disbursing the spoils of war as he decrees, all in the name of “representing the People.

“The stark reality is that his behavior is not unusual in a country where an elite political class: •votes for their own salary increases in the face of a faltering economy, •continues to vote against the will of the people, •refuses to meet with constituents during congressional recesses, •isn’t subject to the same forced healthcare legislation it imposed on the citizenry, 85% of whom were happy with their healthcare insurance, •spends $101,000 for in-flight booze and food, •will fund $2.6 million to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job, •spends $3 billion re-sanding beaches that wash back into the sea, •loses $50 million annually due to overstaffing the postal service, •lost $100 million on unused but refundable airline tickets at the Department of Defense, and •spent $126 million on projects related to the Kennedy legacy.

For a more complete listing of wasteful government spending visit http://www.heritage.org.I’m not a psychologist, but I would bet good money that “Little Lord Fortney” was ridiculed and possibly even bullied by his classmates as a schoolboy and is now projecting that anger onto the very people who gave him his power. What else would explain his near pathological disdain for his subjects, I mean, constituents?Enlightened statesmen will not always be at the helm. Thomas Jefferson, Federalist No. 10.
