Does Obama’s anti-democratic ideology result from his dysfunctional childhood? An intriguing book, Faith of the Fatherless: The Psychology of Atheism, by Paul Vitz, argues this type background is a common precursor to the classic tyrant’s personality. This suggests Barack’s beef with America might result from his own deficient past.

Does it matter the source of our politician’s mental makeup? Of course it does. After all, we expect leaders to make policy based on empirical knowledge, not just knee-jerk reaction to past trauma. For example, would Americans be pleased if the president outlawed taxis because his pooch was run over by a Checker Cab 30 years ago?
I Effects of Losing a Father
For death of a young child’s father, effects of a fatherless childhood can devastate character development. Vitz claims the genesis of atheism and socialism are often driven by personal childhood tragedies.
Vitz describes how loss of faith in one’s earthly father, by death, absence, or from mistreatment, frequently leads to a loss of faith in God. This “defective father hypothesis” gives a compelling explanation for “intense atheism” of famous intellectuals and politicians—the groups he writes about. Fathers can fail a child in many ways: By weak and cowardly behavior, abuse, or absence through death or abandonment.
Prof Vitz also describes childhoods of noted religious persons, linking belief to a warm father figure. He does not claim atheism is psychologically determined, but challenges the notion religious faith is irrational, whereas atheism is rigorous.
Vitz claims an especially difficult window exists between ages 3-5, when a father’s loss via death is viewed as abandonment. Also, he claims a physically abusive father can cause a boy to rage against all authority. So a lack of a positive male role model can translate into an inability to imagine God as a warm Father, as described in Judaism and Christianity.

With great fanfare, Gov. Martin O’Malley on Wednesday announced his use of your tax dollars to track every move made by Maryland motorists. The Democratic chief executive will spend $2 million in federal grants to double the number of roadside and mobile spy cameras, with the data centrally collected at a “fusion center” accessible to government bureaucrats.ike speed cameras and red-light cameras, Mr. O’Malley’s license-plate recognition cameras photograph the plates of passing motorists.
Within a matter of seconds, a computer system looks up the vehicle owner’s identity and cross-references it against a “wanted” list after recording the time, date and GPS coordinates of the vehicle. All of this information will be stored at the Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center located in Woodlawn, just outside Baltimore.
Mr. O’Malley’s plan is unique insofar as it allows tracking of persons of interest using cameras located in dozens of local jurisdictions. “We believe it’s the first,” Maryland State Police spokesman Gregory M. This dangerous and treasonous set of circumstances demonstrates the very reason the Commander-in-Chief of the United States military must be a natural born Citizen, a special kind of citizen who cannot be placed in a position of divided loyalties such as in the case of Mr. Obama, who had a foreign parent and might even be foreign-born himself.
I am not sure if it occurred to you, but it did to me: when Obama is in a position to determine military options, is he thinking of the American people or his benefactors in the Middle East?
Admiral Mullen, will you honor your oath and, along with Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, take the necessary steps to insure that any and all orders from your “Commander-in-Chief” are, in fact, lawful orders from a Constitutionally-qualified and eligible person for that position, and, if not, also take the necessary steps to remove him from the chain of command? I and a desperately-awaiting nation are awaiting your response to this burning question: Can any orders, Executive or Commands, from an illegitimate Commander-in-Chief, be considered “Lawful Orders”?

What the great French historian Alexis de Tocqueville would make of today’s Obama administration were he alive today is anyone’s guess. But I would wager that the author of L’Ancien Régime and Democracy in America would be less than impressed with the extravagance and arrogance on display among the White House elites that rule America as though they had been handed some divine right to govern with impunity.
It is the kind of impunity that has been highlighted on the world stage this week by Michelle Obama’s hugely costly trip to Spain, which has prompted a New York Post columnist Andrea Tantaros to dub the First Lady a contemporary Marie Antoinette.
As The Telegraph reports, while the Obamas are covering their own vacation expenses such as accommodation, the trip may cost US taxpayers as much as $375,000 in terms of secret service security and flight costs on Air Force Two.The timing of this lavish European vacation could not have come at a worse moment, when unemployment in America stands at 10 percent, and large numbers of Americans are fighting to survive financially in the wake of the global economic downturn.

Easily the most controversial figure in the Civil War, probably the most controversial figure in American history, Nathan Bedford Forrest has always been the subject of fierce debate.
Self-made millionaire who rose from poverty with much of his money made as a slaver trader; a semi-literate whose tactics and strategies as the most successful cavalry commander of the Civil War are still studied at military academies around the world; a brilliant general celebrated by the South and condemned by the North as the perpetrator of a massacre at Fort Pillow; a man who killed in combat 31 Union soldiers in the War but who after the War constantly had former Union soldiers visit him to shake his hand; and a racist who helped found the Ku Klux Klan after the War, but who also made a remarkable speech near the end of the life.
In 1875 Forrest was invited to address a meeting of the Independent Order of Pole Bearers, an early black civil rights organization in Memphis, at their Fourth of July barbecue on July 5. Forrest was told by many whites that he should not accept, but Forrest went. Just before he spoke he was presented a bouquet of flowers by Miss Flora Lewis, a daughter of one of the members of the Pole Bearers.
