Is anyone’s memory as bad as Obama’s ?

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Americans respect family. Normally, most any of us can rapidly rattle off extended family trees, recite dates and locations of births or marriages and navigate complicated half- and step-relationships.

Is it just me or is Barack Obama not one of us when it comes to family memories? At every turn his basic life story is fraught with questions on the most elementary details.

Let’s review:1 – Where did his parents meet? Obama says, in Russian-language class at the University of Hawaii. But a photo shows his grandfather Stanley greeting Barack Sr. as if he already knew him on his arrival to Hawaii, among several convivial photos of Barack Sr. without Obama’s mother Ann.

Will military ballot access impact key Congressional races?

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Control of the House, and possibly the Senate, could come down to tough races in states like Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, and Florida. In close races, absentee and military ballots can play a large role in determining the winners. However, some states may not get the ballots to military voters and their families in time to be counted despite the passage of legislation that require states to have a 45-day window on ballot delivery, as Fox News reported early today:Sens.

Russ Feingold of Wisconsin and Michael Bennet of Colorado are just two incumbents locked in tight re-election races in states where local officials have warned they will likely not be able to ship out generalelection ballots to overseas military voters by the Sept. 18 deadline. Both Democrats’ race are listed as “toss-ups” by RealClearPolitics.com, and military ballots could make the difference. But Wisconsin and Colorado are among 10 states where local officials say they may not be able to comply with Move Act provisions that call for ballots to be mailed out at least 45 days before the 2010 midterm election.Fox News has identified four states — Wisconsin, Colorado, Maryland and Washington — where races may hinge on those absentee ballots and on whether their delivery works as intended on behalf of the fighting men and women abroad….t’s also unclear how the states will remediate the situation.

They can extend the time to accept the military ballots, and some have already done that, as Fox reports further. Wisconsin and Colorado still will have less time than 45 days for military voters to return ballots even with the extension already planned. One expert contacted by Fox suggested that the situation may not be a big problem, as states could deliver ballots by e-mail to the soldiers for printing and completing by hand. How big of an impact might this have? Sean Trende at RealClearPolitics reminds us of how close things got in previous elections:“Russ Feingold’s election in 1998 was decided by fewer than 40,000 votes. This time around, our polls are showing him leading by one percentage point or maybe down by one point,” said Sean Trende of RealClearPolitics.com. “So there is a chance that the 15,000 or so overseas military ballots could be what decides that election, if it ends up within 1,000 votes, which is entirely possible.”

At this point, the Move Act seems a little toothless. None of the reports indicates what kind of penalties states face for noncompliance. The military voters are the only ones penalized, it seems, by a failure of states to prepare better for their elections and their men and women serving in the armed forces.

Shariah for Dummies

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf claims that the U.S. Constitution is Shariah compliant. Let us examine below a few laws of Shariah to see if Imam Rauf is truthful or a fraud:1. Jihad, defined as “to war against non-Muslims to establish the religion,” is the duty of every Muslim and Muslim head of state caliph. Muslim caliphs who refuse jihad are in violation of Shariah and unfit to rule.Excerpt Read more at wnd.com …

Outrage: Pentagon Grants Five States Waivers from MOVE Act

August 27, 2010 1 comment

In Washington, politicians always like to release bad news on a Friday, as fewer people notice.

Today, the Pentagon announced that it had granted the waiver requests of five states seeking to escape requirements to protect military voters.

I have written previously here at PJM that all waiver requests should be denied. Unfortunately, if you are an overseas servicemember from Delaware, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington, the protections in the MOVE Act aren’t going to apply to you this year. And if you are from one of the states who still aren’t in compliance with MOVE — like Colorado, Wisconsin, or Alaska — don’t be surprised if you get scant help from Attorney General Eric Holder.

Waivers can be granted from MOVE only if states find a way to make sure the votes of servicemembers are still counted.Washington, despite having plenty of time after an August 17 primary to get the job done, received a waiver today. Washington was unwilling to change their schedule of ballot preparation to allow for 45 days mailing time. Though modern printing technology makes the Washington waiver unnecessary, it was granted.Delaware election director Elaine Manlove says the state can get ballots out in time — but applied for a waiver “just in case.” Delaware’s waiver was motivated by caution, but caution isn’t a basis for the granting of a waiver. The law says “undue hardship.” However, waiver granted.

Rhode Island shared Delaware’s risk aversion: Spokesman Chris Barnett says they asked for a waiver in case they had a recount in the primary. A hypothetical “undue hardship.” Waiver granted.Since MOVE passed last October, Massachusetts did nothing to adjust their late September 14 primary to comply.

This was the same state that introduced and passed legislation in mere days so that Senator Paul Kirk could be sworn in to vote for ObamaCare. The legislature previously stripped Republican Mitt Romney of the power to appoint replacements and required a special election. It’s a shame soldiers aren’t as important as Senator Kirk’s vote was. Waiver granted.

Michael Bloomberg’s Deadly Multiculturalism

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Michael Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York who backs the Ground Zero mosque, is a perfect multiculturalist. As such he sees blindness to cultural diversity as a virtue. And so, to prove himself meritorious, he jettisoned all discretion and hosted an Islamic holiday celebration with the mosque’s backers.

This is extremely dangerous.

We need politicians who take diversity seriously. In their blanket attempts to get us to “celebrate diversity” multiculturalists refuse to acknowledge that cultures can have bad sides.

This position commits them to being blind to the possibility of conflict between cultures. In a very Age-of-Aquarius hippy way, they say if we all just celebrate each other, no conflict, values-based or actual, need exist on the planet.Excerpt Read more at americanthinker.com …

Thank you President Obama?

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

The very reason this website exists is because there are politicians in America who have been for decades leading our country down a road to destruction. These politicians operate in direct opposition to the principals that are the bedrock on which our country was founded.

RINOs have been and are still lending aid and comfort to these political enemies of our country, enemies who would see our country in ruin.

So when I received an email from a friend the other day, I decided to include the text of the email in this post because I believe it is instructive and relevant to this site.

The following is the text from the email I received.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEREVOLUTIONARY WAR VETERANS ASSOCIATION TO DISCUSS PROJECT APPLESEED ON FOX & FRIENDS

Ramseur, NC – 27 August 2010 –

Tune in to Fox & Friends on the Fox News Channel this August 30th, 2010 during the 8:00 a.m. ET hour to hear an engaging success story about how the Revolutionary War Veterans Association RWVA is teaching early American history and rifle marksmanship through a nationwide, all-volunteer program called Project Appleseed. Times may vary. Please check your local listings.Since its inception in 2006, the RWVA has doubled the number of Appleseed clinics and attendees served each year. This year, at least one thousand clinics will be conducted across the country.

The exponential growth and quality of instruction has caught the attention of national media – making this upcoming interview the third to offer nationwide coverage during the past thirty days.At each Appleseed, Americans discover things about their heritage they never knew, as they hear the story of the events of April 19th, 1775 – the one they never heard before – historically accurate, inspiring, encouraging.

They also learn the answer to four questions every American should be able to answer:

1. When and where was the American Revolution fought and won? The answer, directly from a Founder, will astound you!

2. When and where did the Revolutionary War break out? Not at Lexington, not at Concord, but at an obscure place few have ever heard of – until they come to an Appleseeed.

3. What caused the professional British Army to break and run at the North Bridge, after exchanging gunfire with colonial farmers and blacksmiths – for two minutes? We give you the numbers that answer that question.

4. Last but definitely not least, we’ll answer the question which has so bedeviled historians for two centuries:

Who fired the first shots at Lexington?

Yes, and we’ll offer convincing proof in the form of historical facts.About the Revolutionary War Veterans Association The mission of the Revolutionary War Veterans Association is to encourage civic participation, preserve the heritage of rifle marksmanship and to develop an understanding and appreciation of our nation’s founding. Project Appleseed brings about RWVA’s mission across the country through two-day clinics that teach everyday Americans about their heritage and rifle marksmanship fundamentals.

EPA Bid To Ban Lead Bullets Infuriates Gun Owners

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Will Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson make a back door move to ban lead bullets the day before the November 2 elections?Several environmentalist groups led by the Center for Biological Diversity CBD are petitioning the EPA to ban lead bullets and shot as well as lead sinkers for fishing under the Toxic Substances Control Act TSCA.

Although EPA is barred by statute from controlling ammunition, CBD is seeking to work farther back along the manufacturing chain and have EPA ban the use of lead in bullets and shot because non-lead alternatives are available. But here’s the catch: the alternatives to lead bullets are more expensive. A ban on the sale of lead ammunition would force hunters and sport shooters to buy non-lead ammunition that is often double the cost of traditional lead ammunition.

A box of deer hunting bullets in a popular caliber could be upwards of $55.

Glenn Beck Comes To D.C., Controversy Follows NPR

ens of thousands of Glenn Beck fans and Tea Party supporters are expected to descend on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Saturday for an event the conservative talk show host has promoted as a celebration of America’s “heroes and heritage.”But as is usually the case with the histrionic Fox News Channel host and national radio personality, his actions have not come without controversy.A countermarch is being planned at a different location in Washington to protest Beck’s decision to schedule his event on the same site and on the 47th anniversary of civil rights hero Martin Luther King Jr.‘s seminal “I Have a Dream” speech. And the timing of Beck’s rally, which includes a planned appearance by 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, is also being criticized by some Tea Party leaders concerned it will depress attendance at their planned Sept. 12 organization-building rallies in Washington; St. Louis; and Sacramento, Calif.”I hope they have a wonderful time, but I just don’t get why he’s having this and why now,” says Andrew Ian Dodge, Maine coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, who has dubbed Saturday’s event “Beckapalooza.”"Is this just to increase Brand Beck?” he asks.

America Under Siege Oliver North

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Tucson, AZ

“We’re under siege,” said rancher Ed Ashurst, as he pointed to where he had tracked the killer of his friend and neighbor to the U.S.-Mexican border. “Five years ago, we didn’t even bother to lock our doors. Now, my wife and I carry firearms everywhere we go.”John Ladd is a fifth generation cattle rancher in southern Cochise County, Arizona.

The southern boundary of his family property is a ten-mile long stretch of steel fence erected by the U.S. government. On the other side of the fence: Mexico. He told us, “Mexican drug cartels are running this part of America.”The poet Robert Frost posited that “good fences make good neighbors.” From what our FOX News War Stories team documented this week, that’s not the case here in southern Arizona – where “the fence” on the U.S.-Mexican border remains unfinished. According to many level-headed, beleaguered Americans here, the fence is little more than a “speed bump” for drug couriers, killers, human smugglers and lesser criminals flooding into our country.Last night, just hours after Mr. and Mrs. Obama and their doting supporters dined on Martha’s Vineyard, our FOX News War Stories team, accompanied by members of the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Border Interdiction Unit, walked up a quiet hilltop a few hundred yards north of the “fence.” There, we watched through night vision devices as a group of individuals approached the Mexican side of the steel barrier, timing their movement with the passing of U.S. Border Patrol vehicles.

Mehlman’s gay revelation outs GOP elite’s charade – ALAN KEYES

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

excerpt

As a matter of public policy, the issues on which Ken Mehlman exerted his retrograde influence within the GOP are not about his personal behavior. They are about the truth or falsity of the great principles, the self-evident truths, from which the liberty of the American people derives. If there is no natural right, no natural family, no ways of God reflected in the nature of mankind, then there are no unalienable rights; no principle of justice that requires their security; no authoritative basis for the rightness of government based on consent; no claim to self-government, of, by and for the people.

By treating these gravely serious issues as purely personal, leaders like Steele prove that they are blind to the crisis such issues portend for the nation’s conscience, heart and life.Or are they? By purposely corrupting, confusing or discrediting the moral ideas on which the people’s liberty is based, an ambitious elite can prepare for the day when, of its own accord, democratic liberty succumbs to dissolution. That is the day on which untrammeled elitist power will replace the constitutional sovereignty of the people.Months ago I wrote about the fruitless ‘running-in-place’ that characterized even the best of the locust eaten years of the Bush dynasty’s predominance over the GOP. The Party’s well intentioned but mercilessly deceived voter base must awaken to the real source of the GOP’s treacherous ineffectiveness.

It is not Ken Mehlman’s sexual proclivities but the Party elite’s complete abandonment of the moral basis of the constitutional republic. If the people they continually betray do not wake up, a Republican Party victory in November will do little to help America avoid the fate spelled out as I have said before by the Party’s purposeful charade of insincere and ineffective action- R.I.P.Excerpt Read more at loyaltoliberty.com …

Primary Lessons

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

After reflecting on the results of Republican primary elections for the U.S. Senate and related political happenings over recent months, the message is now clear: Barack Obama was right: It really is about hope and change. Not the naïve “Obama Zombie” hope for a government that would keep us from having to pay for our own mortgages or for filling our own gas tanks.

But rather a change toward a government that moves us toward living by our republic’s founding principles. The first step on that path, according to the newly awakened and re-energized Republican electorate, was to tell the Beltway kingmakers what they can do with their preferred candidates. In this primary election cycle, few words were as damaging to Republican candidates as “establishment” and “insider.” Ties to incumbent politicians, not least to John McCain, were poison. Also harmful was being perceived as “bipartisan,” in the sense that the word has come to mean: Republicans helping pass liberal legislation while getting nothing in return. On Tuesday, with all local ballots counted, attorney Joe Miller looked set to pull the season’s biggest upset, knocking off incumbent Senator Lisa Murkowski in Alaska’s Senate primary. By Thursday morning, the lead was down to 1,668 votes with up to 8,000 absentee ballots still to be received and counted.

Even if Murkowski pulls out a victory — but especially if she doesn’t — the result reinforces the power of Sarah Palin; she endorsed Miller, who spent a mere $200,000 on his campaign, less than one-seventh of the $1.4 million plus spent by Murkowski, who had the fourth-lowest ranking among Republican Senators in the 2009 American Conservative Union ratings.Excerpt Read more at spectator.org …

Obama’s military neglect: Is it intentional? – ALAN KEYES

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

By design or incompetence, Obama appears to be intent on creating a quagmire in which to dissipate America‘s military strength and resources. Most Americans have no objection to seeing their loved ones in the military risk and give their lives to fulfill the oaths that preserve the liberty of our people.

It is deeply wrong to ask that they do so when the strategy that makes moral and military sense of their sacrifice has been cast aside. As I indicated in the above quoted article posted at Loyal to Liberty in May 2009, almost as soon as he entered the White House Obama abandoned the strategic vision that made sense of the U.S. military’s deployment to Afghanistan. Was this the result of incompetence? Or did it express the same disaffection with America that caused Mrs. Obama to say that as an adult she never felt pride in her country until her husband ran for president?

Such questions and doubts increased when mounting casualties confirmed the dire implications of the rules of engagement Obama agreed to impose on U.S. combat forces in Afghanistan. Now we have the report that the relatives of some U.S. personnel in Afghanistan “have accused the U.S. government of leaving defenders of its freedoms without basics such as blankets, food, feminine hygiene supplies and even bullets.” If true these allegations suggest a degree of criminal neglect at the highest level of command that warrants the immediate dismissal of those responsible, including the one who lays still doubtful claim to the authority of commander in chief.

This is a clip that will have you standing and applauding if you are a lover of liberty and freedom for all!

This Marine stands up and unashamedly rips into his congressman to the cheers and standing ovations of his fellow constituents.

He says, “Now I’ve heard recently you and other people on the national political stage call us Brownshirts because we oppose you…But I will remind you a little history lesson.

The Nazi’s were the National Socialist Party. They were leftist. They took over the finance, they took over the car industry, they took over the healthcare in that country.

If Nancy Pelosi wants to find a swastika maybe the first place she should look is the sleeve of her own arm! Now what I want to know is, you’ve done a lot of things to violate your constitutional oath. What I want to know is, as a marine, as a disabled veteran that served this country, I’ve kept my oath. Do you EVER intend to keep yours?!”This is 2 minutes of pure patriotic passion! Enjoy!

Unplug the Signal: The Truth Will Not Be Televised

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

For over half a century, our society has lived under this signal of mental programming and conditioning. The message is clear: don’t be a leader, don’t engage in critical thinking, and don’t care about the people in your life. Until individuals become aware of the current information war, our standard of living and our liberties will continue to be degraded and we will continue to lose communities and meaningful relationships between people.

Currently, pockets of resistance are beginning to spring up everywhere as some unplug the signal and regain control of their own thoughts. Informed individuals are canceling their cable and satellite subscriptions and instead spending time with their families and children while participating in meaningful experiences.

They are seeking alternative news sources. They are reading about those who wield incredible influence over culture like Edward Bernays, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Charles Galton Darwin, Plato, Bertrand Russell, and Aldous Huxley. However, it is a continuous battle to educate the masses for the television remains our greatest threat to individual sovereignty and the largest obstacle to becoming a truly informed individual. Fortunately, unplugging from the signal is easy. The television can simply be turned off. Through doing so, you may realize nearly our entire world is now a hoax; things once known as truth are fake.

We have been trained like dogs to be obedient to our television; our master has had our minds on a tight leash. Let us never forget the truth will not be televised.

WE NEED A REVOLUTION, NOT A MOVEMENT ~ By Chuck Baldwin

WE NEED A REVOLUTION, NOT A MOVEMENT

By Chuck Baldwin
August 27, 2010
NewsWithViews.com

The elections of 2008 (and the early elections of 2010) produced two significant phenomena: the “Ron Paul Revolution,” and the “Tea Party Movement.” And, mark it down: both of them will have profound effects upon the upcoming November elections–and upon the 2012 elections as well. Call them what you want, however, America doesn’t need another movement; it needs a genuine revolution.

The Tea Party movement, while still a force with which to be contended, has already been diluted and compromised. The primary elections plainly reveal the reality of this fact. The high spots so far are the defeats of Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania and Bob Bennett in Utah. The low spots so far are the reelection of John McCain in Arizona and the election of Dan Coats in Indiana.

John McCain’s election, in particular, demonstrates how many conservatives and “revolutionaries” still don’t get it. If any State in the union should have an up-close-and-personal look at what we are up against, it would be the people of Arizona. After all, they are on the front lines in the fight of one of the most important battles currently being waged in our country: illegal immigration. And John McCain is one of the worst offenders in terms of facilitating and encouraging this illegal invasion. Yet the people of Arizona reelected McCain to the US Senate. (It would interesting to know how many illegal aliens voted for McCain, would it not?)

Then again, John McCain received the enthusiastic endorsement of former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin. This endorsement obviously brought McCain thousands of Tea Party votes that otherwise would have gone to his principal opponent, J.D. Hayworth. McCain is not the only Big-Government globalist neocon to receive Palin’s endorsement. Many of Palin’s endorsees are neocons; which leads to one of the biggest problems with any so-called conservative movement: allowing celebrity-type “conservatives” to become the de facto leaders and spokesmen for what should be a true grassroots, people-generated rebellion. Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are the two biggest culprits in this regard.

Mark my words: Palin and Beck may see themselves as part of a conservative “movement,” but they want nothing to do with an old-fashioned, honest-to-God, Patrick Henry-style revolution. In fact, they are doing everything in their power to keep such a revolution from taking place.

ONLY the US Supreme Court has Constitutional Authority to Conduct the Trial

August 27, 2010 1 comment

Does anyone read the U.S. Constitution these days?

American lawyers don’t read it.

Federal Judge Susan R. Bolton apparently has never read it.

Same goes for our illustrious Attorney General Eric Holder.

But this lawyer has read it and she is going to show you something in Our Constitution which is as plain as the nose on your face.Article III, Sec. 2, clause 2 says:

In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction…

“Original” jurisdiction means the power to conduct the “trial” of the case as opposed to hearing an appeal from the judgment of a lower court.

You all know quite well what a “trial” is – you see them all the time on TV shows: Perry Mason, Boston Legal, The Good Wife, etc. Witnesses testify and are cross-examined, etc.The style of the Arizona case shows quite clearly that the named defendants are: State of Arizona; and Janice K. Brewer, Governor of the State of Arizona, in her Official Capacity, Defendants.Judge Susan R. Bolton has no more authority to preside over this case than do youSee where it says, “State of Arizona”? And “Janice K. Brewer, Governor of the State of Arizona, in her official Capacity”? THAT plus Art. III, Sec. 2, clause 2 is what gives the US Supreme Court “original Jurisdiction”, i.e., jurisdiction to conduct the trial of this case. THAT is what strips the federal district court of any jurisdiction whatsoever to hear this case.

Judge Susan R. Bolton has no more authority to preside over this case than do you unless you are a US Supreme Court justice. In Federalist No. 81 13th para, Alexander Hamilton commented on this exact provision of Art. III, Sec. 2, clause 2:

A Two-Tier Internet?

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

The Internet as you know it is in serious, serious danger. Some of the most powerful communications companies in the world have been involved in negotiations and have been making agreements that would throw net neutrality out the window and would move us toward a two-tier Internet.

So exactly what would that mean? It would mean that the big corporate giants that have a virtual monopoly on other forms of media and entertainment would be able to buy access to the blazing fast “next generation” Internet that communications companies are developing and the rest of us like this site for example would be stuck on the decaying “gravel roads” of the old Internet. The threat that this poses to freedom, liberty, Internet commerce and the free flow of information should not be underestimated.

The Nazification of the United States

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Encouraged by its success in breaking the law, the executive branch early this year announced that the Obama regime has given itself the right to murder Americans abroad if such Americans are considered a “threat.” “Threat” was not defined and, thus, a death sentence would be issued by a subjective decision of an unaccountable official.

There was hardly a peep out of the public or the media. Americans and the media were content for the government to summarily execute traitors and turncoats, and who better to identify traitors and turncoats than the government with all its spy programs. The problem with this sort of thing is that once it starts, it doesn’t stop. As Norris reports citing Obama regime security officials, the next stage is to criminalize dissent and criticism of the government. The May 2010 National Security Strategy states: “We are now moving beyond traditional distinctions between homeland and national security. . . .

This includes a determination to prevent terrorist attacks against the American people by fully coordinating the actions that we take abroad with the actions and precautions that we take at home.”[PDF]

A drunk helps make a case for the 9-11 mosque

August 27, 2010 Leave a comment

The hate crime accusers are on the march. What could be better then a WASP psychopath with one too many Budweisers under his cowboy belt slashing a Muslim cab driver just as the 9-11 mosque controversy came to a rolling boil in New York City?

Muslim cab driver Ahmed Sharif picked up a very thirsty American student and, as a result, one unsuspecting Muslim nearly became a statistic.Apparently, after imbibing numerous alcoholic beverages, Michael Enright felt obligated to embark upon a personal Checkered Cab Crusade, slashing a taxicab driver in the neck and upper lip in what is being reported as an “explosion of anti-Muslim violence in the close confines of [a] New York City taxi.”Is it fair to define one drunk and one Muslim as an “explosion of anti-Muslim violence?” To date, an assemblage of tee-totaling Muslims killing 3,000+ Americans in an “explosion of anti-American violence” is yet to officially be labeled a religiously motivated “hate crime.”

Victim-cabdriver Ahmed shared the horror story: “I’m driving. He asked me where I’m from. I said Bangladesh. Second question he ask me, are you Muslim? I said yes. Then he tells me ‘assalamu alaikum,’” Sharif said.A pattern is emerging: Arabic terms like “Assalamu alaikum” and “Allahu akbar” seem to be the war cry of hate mongers as faraway from New York City as Ft. Hood, Texas.

What part of ‘civilian control’ did you miss, Marine?
