30 September 2010 | Mene Mene Tekel UpharsinPosted on Thursday, September 30, 2010 11:10:17 PM by MeneMeneTekelUpharsin

Let’s start a new saying and a new movement tonight, 30 September 2010. Just say to everyone you can that your message for Obama is:

Shut Up!We don’t want to hear another word out of you, your wife or your daughters ever again.

We don’t care about another word you have to say ever again.

Just shut up. Do not pass Go and do not collect $200 or billion dollars.

Without profanity, Just Shut Up Obama!

Every time you open your mouth, you make the problem worse.Obama,

Shut Up!

The Invisible Militia

September 30, 2010 Leave a comment

America‘s liberal media routinely demonstrate a formulaic knee-jerk response to the threat of white militias no matter what disorganized, shapeless form any such rag-tag organizations may take. Any white lunatic who perpetrates a violent event is immediately cast unquestioningly by the mainstream media as possible new evidence of some vague, relatively unstructured but assuredly white threat to all those of a progressive persuasion.

By the way, for any aspiring liberal Journolistas, here’s the formula: Any white + any violence = probable white militia. See Time Magazine‘s new cover story this week!If you are Caucasian and mildly pleased with being so, then you are not only a racist in the eyes of the liberal media, you are, as well, a potentially violent threat to all people of color. Never mind the countless mainstream media articles praising those same people of color organizing in such a way as to proclaim their black pride or brown pride. In the eyes and minds of liberal America there is equal and then there is equal. If you are of Caucasian descent, you can forget about either term ever being applied to you and your offspring. Consider the New Black Panther Party and their extra-legal existence as a racial militia in contemporary America.

Look at this rather self-defining list of demands which constitutes their platform, taken from their website, and draw your own conclusions. If it doesn’t scare the hell out of you that people who subscribe to this sort of racist militancy are meeting with foreign leaders who have openly spoken of the end of America, then you aren’t tuned in, Bubba…

D’Souza on Glenn Beck: Obama ideology based on father’s anti-colonial socialism

September 30, 2010 Leave a comment

Dinesh D’Souza appeared on Glenn Beck yesterday, and he made the point that Barack Obama’s ideology is based on the anti-colonial socialism of his late father. Dinesh D’Souza was a special guest in the second half of the Glenn Beck Show on Fox News Channel, on a show that centered around discovering just who in the heck Number 44 really is. And I fully mean who he really is, not the fake caricature the liberal media fabricated to make him appear more relatable to average Americans.

I mean the real Barack Hussein Obama, the man who thinks that raising taxes will spur economic growth, that states should be sued for enforcing federal laws against illegal aliens, and that enemies can be appeased by just bowing to them constantly.

The divulgence from Dinesh D’Souza was not pretty to say the least.

Rush Limbaugh: “We Don’t Need A Birth Certificate To Know Obama Is A Foreigner….

Talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh said today that as far as loyalties go for Barack Obama, he is a “foreigner.””Let me put it this way,” Limbaugh said. “We don’t need a birth certificate to know that Obama is a foreigner, in this sense:

He’s born in the United States, but he doesn’t think like most of us think. He doesn’t look at this country and its people, its history, its accomplishments the way most of us do.

He doesn’t look at our history with pride.”Limbaugh, who on occasion has referred to the controversy over Obama’s eligibility, continued,

“There’s no American exceptionalism as far as Obama’s concerned.”

This has been the thing I’ve been trying to convince people of ever since just before the election,” Limbaugh said.

The Problem with Politicized Programs: Ad Sales Why advertisers don’t like Beck & O’Reilly

The Problem with Politicized Programs: Ad Sales Why advertisers don’t like Beck & O’ReillyTV Newser ^ | September 30, 2010 | Alex WewrpinPosted on Thursday, September 30, 2010 3:40:45 PM by Beaten ValveIn his New York Times Magazine cover story about Fox News host Glenn Beck, author Mark Leibovich writes about Beck’s ratings, and touches upon the problem the show has had with advertisers:His show now averages two million viewers, down from a high of 2.8 million in 2009, according to the Nielsen Ratings. And as of Sept. 21, 296 advertisers have asked that their commercials not be shown on Beck’s show up from 26 in August 2009. Fox also has a difficult time selling ads on “The O’Reilly Factor” and “Fox and Friends” when Beck appears on those shows as a guest. Beck’s show is known in the TV sales world as “empty calories,” meaning he draws great ratings but is toxic for ad sales. While the story is about Beck, the “empty calorie” problem is hardly unique to his show. Programs with a heavy political or ideological focus often have a hard time attracting blue chip advertisers. Some of the country’s biggest advertisers, like the major automakers or retailers like Target, prefer to spend their money on programs that a have a wide reach, and which are generally uncontroversial. No one is going to call for a boycott of advertisiers to “Monday Night Football” or “Law & Order,” for example. On the other hand, Ideological and political programming often ventures into controversial territory, with interest groups always on the lookout for the latest offensive statement to jump on.This is why Beck’s program attracts advertisers like Goldline or the Survival Seed Bank, companies that probably could not afford to advertise nationally on a mainstream entertainment program. Because of the sometimes-controversial nature of his show, many Fox News advertisers 296 according to the Times simply prefer to see their products or brands featured on “safer” programming like “Studio B.”In that respect, CNN has a big advantage over its more ideological competition.

Obama Seed To Socialize Jesus and Corrupt Christianity

Jesus was no politician, nor did he want anything to do with politics or earthly power. Even Jesus screamed called his own religious leaders vipers on snakes, dean of thieves and destroyed the money makers in front of Gods Temple. The progressives always screaming about keeping state and church separate, except when it serves their socials agenda. Jesus will not be used by earthly politicians in his name.

By Joe Kovacs © 2010 WorldNetDaily

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Is President Obama, who once demeaned Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount as “radical,” actively trying to socialize Jesus and corrupt Christianity?

Rush Limbaugh The answer is yes, according to conservative radio giant Rush Limbaugh, who is claiming the commander in chief is not only trying to socialize America, but also the Christian religion by twisting Scripture.

The top-rated host made the allegation today during discussion of Obama’s profession of faith yesterday in Albuquerque, N.M.

Limbaugh focused in on Obama’s statement of “being my brother’s and sister’s keeper, treating others as they would treat me.”

“The reason why this is important is there’s an effort by the left to say that Jesus was a socialist,” said Limbaugh, “and they are using this to turn many evangelical people into global-warming people. We are the stewards of the planet and so forth. There’s an ongoing effort here to corrupt Christianity.”

It’s time for incredible Bible truth to be proclaimed across the world, including your ultimate destiny, which is far more glorious and spectacular than just floating on a cloud, playing a harp forever. Read the No. 1 best-seller, “Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You’ve Never Been Told,” personally autographed!

During yesterday’s backyard town-hall meeting in Albuquerque, Obama had explained:

I’m a Christian, uh, by choice. Um, you know, my family didn’t – frankly, they weren’t, uh, folks who went to church every – every week. Um, my mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew, but she didn’t, uh, raise me in the church. Uh, so I came to, to, uh, my Christian faith later in life, uh, and it was because the, the, the, precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead – being my brother’s and sister’s keeper, treating others as they would treat me … also understanding that Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings, that we’re sinful, and we’re flawed, and we make mistakes, and that we achieve salvation through the grace of God. But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people and do our best to help them find their own grace. So that’s what I strive to do, that’s what I pray to do every day. I think my public service is a part of that effort to express my Christian faith.

The video was posted online by Christian Broadcasting Network and also is embedded:

Stressing he was not disputing the president’s profession of Christianity, Limbaugh went into a detailed analysis of Obama’s remarks, noting:

There’s a lot of people who do not know details of their own religious belief. But the Golden Rule is not a precept of Christianity. I hate to point this out, but the Golden Rule does not emanate, originate, from Christianity. And this brother’s keeper business? That’s not Jesus. I hate to say this, but Jesus Christ did not talk about brother’s keeper. That is from the story of Cain and Abel, and even that story is misunderstood. The story of Cain and Abel – my brother’s keeper does not mean, “I’m going to take care of my brother or take care of my sister.” The story of Cain and Abel, Cain killed Abel, and then he said he had no idea. He denied it. He denied killing Abel, and then said to God, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Meaning, “What, is he my responsibility? He’s not my responsibility, I didn’t kill my brother.” Now, a lot of people misunderstand all this, but the Golden Rule doesn’t come from Christianity, and Cain and Abel is not, “I’m going to take care of my brother and I’m going to take care of my sister,” and Jesus Christ has nothing to do with either one of them.

The Bible actually does talk about the principle of reciprocal care for others, with Jesus Himself stating, “Do for others what you would like them to do for you.” (Matthew 7:12, New Living Translation)

Even in the Old Testament, the command is given to “love your neighbor as yourself.” (Leviticus 19:18, NLT)

But Limbaugh said similar ideas had been circulated in ancient Babylon long before biblical Scripture is thought to have been written.

“The early incarnations of the Golden Rule are found in the Code of Hammurabi: an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth,” he noted.

Limbaugh said Obama’s voicing of the “brother’s keeper” concept is a distortion of Christianity:

“This is where Obama now says that public service is part of an effort to express his Christian faith, that Christianity is socialism, that Jesus Christ was a socialist. Jesus Christ was apolitical. He got involved in no political ideology whatsoever.”

Limbaugh took issue with Obama’s governing style, suggesting it might not be Christ-like.

“How is his Christian faith guiding the way he’s dealing with Republicans? I mean he’s urging everybody not to listen to Republicans, don’t make arrangements with Republicans.”

And saying he was reluctant to point it out, Limbaugh also wondered about Obama’s perceived lack of compassion for his own relatives in Africa.

“Obama’s brother is still living in a hut – a 6-by-9-foot, un-air-conditioned, no-running-water, no-electricity hut in Kenya, outside Nairobi, somewhere over there. Twenty dollars. Guy lives on a dollar a year. Twenty bucks would be the equivalent of winning the lottery. And Obama has not reached out to keep his brother.”

This is not the first time Obama’s referencing of the Bible has caused controversy. On June 28, 2006, Obama addressed a conference in Washington, D.C., finding fault with both Old Testament instructions as well as Jesus’ famous Sermon on the Mount in the 5th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew:

And even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools? Would we go with James Dobson’s, or Al Sharpton’s? Which passages of Scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is abomination? How about Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith? Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount – a passage that is so radical that it’s doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application? So before we get carried away, let’s read our Bibles. Folks haven’t been reading their Bibles.

Clips of the speech were later made into commercials during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Do you resent the government for enforcing Obamacare or raising your taxes? Write about it in an email or talk about it on the phone and you could be placed under surveillance as a potential terrorist, if frightening new technology being shopped to law enforcement agencies is implemented.

Forget pre-crime and get ready for face-crime, Big Brother is set to unleash a new wave of shockingly invasive and Orwellian technology on the American people if a recent symposium in Hamburg New York is anything to go by. Federal agencies, police departments and others were all in attendance to see a demonstration of a system that trawls phone conversations, emails and instant messages to detect “resentment toward government,” alerting authorities to potential “terrorists” who are then placed under surveillance.

The technology was demonstrated to law enforcement officials, mental health professionals, and military representatives at a recent International First Responder-Military Symposium held at Hilbert College.

“A Swiss professor working with a Massachusetts Institute of Technology scientist who heads the Mind Machine Project there outlined how this program operates through computerized scanning of phone calls and electronic messages sent through e-mail and social networking mechanisms,” reports the Buffalo News [2].

Ron Paul’s Pledge to America (Southern Avenger)
American Conservative ^ | 2010-09-28 | Jack Hunter aka Southern Avenger

Posted on Thursday, September 30, 2010 9:40:56 AM by rabscuttle385

The Republican Party has a history of using desperate times to call for drastic measures and when bailing out AIG, bolstering Medicare or bombing Iraq, that party has always been willing to go big and bold on some of the largest government expansions in this nation’s history.

But what about cutting government? You know, that stuff GOP politicians always talk about during election time?

One might think that in a political environment in which so many are desperate to reverse what they see as unsustainable government growth, Republican rhetoric might at least attempt to reflect that desperation. But when GOP leaders unveiled their “Pledge to America” last week, the only thing revealed is that these Republicans remain what they have always been-pansies. In a nutshell, the old Republican guard now pledges to save America from the excesses of Obama by basically returning to the level of government we experienced under Bush-when these exact same Republicans were doubling the size of government.

The pledge reflects little substance, there’s not even anything about a balanced budget amendment or earmarks-two longstanding but fairly tame Republican gripes-and some of it even promotes GOP statism, with promises to repeal and “replace” national healthcare, and of course, to spend even more money on a “defense” budget that already accounts for half the earth’s military spending.

From the Contract with America in 1994 to the Pledge to America last week, the GOP has broken every contract or pledge it has ever made with conservatives. Now these same Republicans have made another empty promise, similar but even less appealing than the lies they’ve told in the past. This “pledge” is a joke.

When asked to give his take on the Pledge to America, Congressman Ron Paul stated the obvious on FOX Business, “I don’t hear enough precise things we would cut. I never hear that the military-industrial-complex should be addressed. I don’t ever hear that the discretionary and non-discretionary funding is all the same. I never hear which departments they really want to get rid of, so, it goes on and on and you just can’t have a little tinkering on the edges… as long as we want big government you can’t tinker with the edges.”

Tinkering indeed. In a Tea Party environment in which so many are tired of conventional GOP politicians screwing around with the peripheral and irrelevant, why shouldn’t conservatives look to the one Republican who has never screwed around?

Instead of wondering if John Boehner is now serious, trying to figure out what Sarah Palin is saying, hoping that Scott Brown turns out to be something special, looking for something worthwhile about Newt Gingrich or wondering which version of Mitt Romney might run for president, why shouldn’t those serious about limiting government get fully behind the one conservative leader who has always been dead serious?

Congressman Ron Paul’s pledge to America is over three decades old and was taken the day he was sworn into office, or as he explained during a 2007 Republican presidential debate: “Hello, my name is Ron Paul. I am a congressman from Texas serving in my tenth term. I am the champion of the Constitution.” Virtually every Republican claims to be for the Constitution, but most with the moral authority of a cheating husband claiming to be a champion of marriage. Paul’s unwavering fidelity to this nation’s founding charter and his peers rampant infidelity can measured by the countless votes in which the Texas congressman stood as the sole opposition to the entire House of Representatives. This distinction is important as so many new Tea Party candidates are now criticized by the mainstream for being “extreme” in suggesting that we should follow the Constitution to the letter of the law, including dismantling the IRS, phasing out Social Security or abolishing the Department of Education.

Such constitutionally-minded, nuts-and-bolts suggestions should be included in any serious conservative “pledge” to America-and have all been advocated by Paul his entire career.

To that extent that some conservatives may take issue with aspects of Paul’s constitutional philosophy is more often an invitation for self-examination. For example, many say they like Paul but part ways on foreign policy. Fair enough, but in supporting undeclared wars, the PATRIOT Act and forever empowering the Executive branch, such conservatives shouldn’t delude themselves that they actually stand for the Constitution or limited government in any substantive manner. In fact, they stand with the bulk of the Republican Party, who’ve also long made these constitutional exceptions, along with countless others, and not-so-curiously helped expand government every bit as much as the Democrats. Most Republicans claim to be for the Constitution-”but”-with the biggest “but” typically being a ridiculous and unnecessary foreign policy that costs as much as anything else the Tea Party now targets. Paul has always been for the Constitution, period, no “buts” about it.

So how comprehensively constitutional are conservatives willing to be? Those who wrote the Pledge to America obviously aren’t the least bit serious even as the Tea Party continues to show unprecedented conservative will. If the big government establishment now considers the Tea Party too radical, perhaps conservatives en masse should finally and fully consider the constitutional philosophy of the one man that establishment has also long considered too radical-and for the same reasons.

There’s a reason Ron Paul’s influence continues to rise in conjunction with the rise of the Tea Party and to the extent that the movement adopts his philosophy, it will pledge itself to limiting government in a far more serious and comprehensive manner than it would listening to any other figure who now speaks in its name.

‘Constitutional carry’ and the challenges it presents

‘Constitutional carry’ and the challenges it presentsSeattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 29 September, 2010 | Dave WorkmanPosted on Thursday, September 30, 2010 8:29:41 AM by marktwainIts advocates call it “Constitutional Carry,” and three states now have it, Vermont, Alaska and Arizona; the full exercise of the right to keep and bear arms without the necessity of a license or permit of any kind.

This past weekend at the Second Amendment Foundation’s 25th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference more about GRPC in a moment, author and gun rights advocate Alan Korwin told the audience in San Francisco, “I’m from Arizona, and I don’t need no stinking permit.” For several years, Korwin has written a book on Arizona gun laws, same as this writer publishes a book on Washington gun laws. Now that the Second Amendment has been incorporated to affect state and local governments, those peaceful citizens who choose to exercise that right may be on remarkably firm legal ground, especially when it comes to interacting with the police.

Korwin didn’t say so, but he doesn’t have to. Especially in states with strong state constitutional right-to-bear-arms provisions – like Washington – citizens packing pistols is just something the hoplophobes, and police who respond to their hysterical calls to 911, are probably going to have to “get over it.”Arizona Constitution, Article 2, Section 26The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself or the State shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain, or employ an armed body of men.

Be Very Afraid: The ‘Experts’ Are Running the Economy

by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

Recently by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.: Some Americans Distrust Authority

When Young Americans for Liberty at Indiana University first invited me to speak last year, the group ran into resistance from the university administration. Having consulted the economics department, the relevant university office declared that I was “uncredentialed,” and that perhaps a professor from IU’s economics faculty could give a nice lecture instead. I was uncredentialed, presumably, because my education at Harvard and Columbia was in history, not economics.

The student group refused to take this lying down, and made such a stink in the local media, pointing to my bio and the reception of my book Meltdown – including the friendly coverage it received from mainstream outlets like Barron’s,, and UPI – that the university not only reversed its stance but even partially funded my appearance, which took place on September 21 of this year.

The Indiana Daily Student (circulation 15,500) offered me a 600-word guest column in the wake of my appearance. Here’s what I wrote, which they published verbatim (complete with a comments section). ~ Tom Woods

The free market did not cause the financial crisis, and the Elmer’s glue and Scotch tape our wise leaders have applied to the economy are only prolonging the agony. That’s the thesis of my 2009 New York Times bestseller, Meltdown.

That’s not a popular thing to say in Bloomington, I learned several months ago.

When Young Americans for Liberty at IU hit a bureaucratic stone wall in trying to invite me to campus – a problem I can’t say I’ve run into at any other university – the local media took notice. But it was the comment sections that were a particular hoot. It was as though I had insulted Stalin in the old Soviet Union. Who does this idiot think he is? How dare he speak of our wise overlords that way! Why, they’re just looking out for the good of the people! And so on, as if I’d stumbled into some kind of cliché competition.

Then, when the university reversed itself and even helped fund my appearance, the comments switched to, “If I had time, I’d go over there and set this guy straight!” Uh-huh. The large crowd that came to hear me a couple weeks ago couldn’t have been friendlier.

What I explained at IU was that asset bubbles, like the housing bubble we’ve just lived through, do not occur spontaneously. If people bought lots of houses on the free market, interest rates would rise as the banks’ loanable funds were depleted. That would put an end to speculation in real estate.

But thanks to the Federal Reserve System (or simply the “Fed”), which is no part of the free market, large infusions of money created out of thin air kept interest rates low, and thus perpetuated the bubble. During an asset bubble, demand for the asset in question rises, as does its price. Where would people get the money to keep buying an increasingly costly asset if the government’s officially approved money machine weren’t there to flood the economy with cash?

It was this interference with interest rates, pushing them well below where the free market would have set them, that set in motion the classic boom-bust cycle we’ve just witnessed. F.A. Hayek won the Nobel Prize for showing how central banks like the Federal Reserve, by interfering with interest rates and not allowing them to tell entrepreneurs the truth about economic conditions, divert the economy into unsustainable configurations that inevitably come undone in a crash. (Hayek belongs to a tradition of free-market thought called the Austrian School of economics.)

None of this has anything to do with the free market.

Adding fuel to the fire was the so-called Greenspan put, the unofficial policy of the Greenspan Fed that promised assistance to private firms in the event of risky investments gone bad. What kind of incentives do you suppose that created?

The point of being in college is to learn how to think beyond clichés. Forget the quacks who told us, cluelessly, that everything was fine with the economy in 2007. Look instead to modern spokesmen of the Austrian School like Peter Schiff, Ron Paul, and Jim Grant. You know, the people who, unlike your professors (who, by the way, tried to keep a dissident voice from speaking on campus), predicted the recent crash to a T.

Want to know what really happened to the economy, and why your job prospects are so bleak? Watch Peter Schiff’s YouTube “Why the Meltdown Should Have Surprised No One.” That’s the first step toward becoming the independent thinker that four years at IU are supposed to make of you.

September 30, 2010 Leave a comment

Camouflaged and silent, the assault team inched toward a walled stone compound for more than five hours, belly-crawling the last 200 yards. The target was an old state prison in eastern Ohio, and every handpicked member of Red Team 2 knew what was at stake:

The year is 2014, and a new breed of neo-Islamic terrorism is rampant in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio …

The current White House Administration is pro-Muslim and has ordered a stand-down against Islamic groups. The mission: Destroy the terrorist command post — or die trying. The fighters must go in “sterile” — without name tags or other identifying insignia — as a deniable covert force. “Anyone who is caught or captured cannot expect extraction,” the briefing officer said.At nightfall the raiders launched their attack. Short, sharp bursts from their M-16s cut down the perimeter guards. Once past the rear gate, the raiders fanned out and emptied clip after clip in a barrage of diversionary fire.

As defenders rushed to repel the small team, the main assault force struck from the opposite flank. Red Team 1 burst through a chain-link fence, enveloping the defense in lethal cross fire. The shooting was over in minutes. Thick grenade smoke bloomed over the command post. The defenders were routed, headquarters ablaze.

The Chessboard is Now Set in the Middle East | The Post & Email

“CIVILIZATION AGAINST BARBARISM”by Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely Ret.There isa wide variety of ethnic groups represented in Iran, but Persian is the common languageSept. 29, 2010 — It appears while our State Department and White House are asleep at the switch; the Iranians have been busy and fastidious in resetting the chessboard in the Middle East to their liking.

What has Iran been doing in addition to moving their nuclear program forward, becoming the hegemonic power of the Middle East and supporting the international jihad? The Iranians unlike the United States are very clever at using proxies to do their dirty work. Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs seem to achieve some victory on every front weekly in orchestrating the activities in Lebanon, Hezbollah, and Syria not to mention their support of Hamas, Iraqi Shiites, and the Taliban and, oh, let us not forget Al Qaeda and the Bin Laden family.

Iran has planned a larger, bolder strategy for the demise of Israel? Russia, somewhat remaining in the background, supplies sophisticated technology and military systems to Iran and Syria and languishes in the diminution of the United States influence in the Middle East.

The Anatomy of a Court-Martial, Part II | The Post & Email

September 30, 2010 Leave a comment

by Sharon Rondeau

The War Office was authorized by Congress in 1789 and operated the Army and Navy and was commanded by the President and Commander-in-ChiefSept. 29, 2010 — The interview which follows is the second in a series relating the story of “the most reviewed court-martial in the history of the United States,” that of Walter Francis Fitzpatrick, III, and its significance to all Americans today. Here Cdr. Fitzpatrick describes in more detail how the court-martial was fabricated by four officers who colluded to remove him from military service and provides proof that his military defense counsel knew about and participated in the conspiracy. The Post & Email published an introductory article on the court-martial, which occurred in October 1989, in which Fitzpatrick stated that he “was pronounced guilty in writing before anything else happened.”This date is significant in military history, as Lt. Commander Fitzpatrick has informed The Post & Email:Two hundred twenty-one years ago today, on September 29, 1789, the final day of its very first session, the United States Congress passed “An act to recognize and adapt to the Constitution of the United States, the establishment of the troops raised under the resolves of the United States in Congress assembled” officially creating the military of the United States.

To the men already serving on the frontier under orders of the Continental Congress, the change probably meant little.Although the Constitution of the United States charged Congress with raising and regulating military forces, newly-elected House and Senate members delayed acting on this provision. Busy organizing the federal government and debating the location of the new Federal City, Congress neglected dealing with the issue of military forces until prodded by President and Commander in Chief George Washington.

This is the day, in 1789, Congress accepted the British War Articles into operation after the Constitution became the law of the land. Those rules for the military government have never been reconciled with the Constitution. Ever! And it has been 221 years!———————————-

Engineers Slam Internet ‘Censorship’ Bill Under Review by Senate

September 30, 2010 Leave a comment

Internet entrepreneurs are in a panic over a Senate bill they say will censor the Web, stifle Silicon Valley startups, damage the United States’ credibility on free speech and ultimately trigger the creation of an alternate-universe Internet. The West Coast engineers say they were blindsided last Monday when the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act was introduced in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The bill has a bipartisan roster of co-sponsors who say it will be a tool for stopping the worst offenders in the world of online piracy. The bill would give the attorney general new powers to shut down websites deemed dedicated to counterfeit material — by going through the courts and by encouraging service providers to go after sites the Justice Department puts on a public blacklist.

According to the bill, a website would have to be “dedicated to infringing activities” to trigger the enforcement.

Rush Limbaugh: Obama twisting Holy Scripture

September 30, 2010 Leave a comment

– Is President Obama, who once demeaned Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount as “radical,” actively trying to socialize Jesus and corrupt Christianity?Rush LimbaughThe answer is yes, according to conservative radio giant Rush Limbaugh, who is claiming the commander in chief is not only trying to socialize America, but also the Christian religion by twisting Scripture.

The top-rated host made the allegation today during discussion of Obama’s profession of faith yesterday in Albuquerque, N.M.Limbaugh focused in on Obama’s statement of “being my brother’s and sister’s keeper, treating others as they would treat me.””The reason why this is important is there’s an effort by the left to say that Jesus was a socialist,” said Limbaugh, “and they are using this to turn many evangelical people into global-warming people. We are the stewards of the planet and so forth. There’s an ongoing effort here to corrupt Christianity.”It’s time for incredible Bible truth to be proclaimed across the world, including your ultimate destiny, which is far more glorious and spectacular than just floating on a cloud, playing a harp forever. Read the No. 1 best-seller, “Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You’ve Never Been Told,” personally autographed!During yesterday’s backyard town-hall meeting in Albuquerque, Obama had explained: I’m a Christian, uh, by choice.

I thin

Internet’s creator slams ‘blight’ of web disconnection laws

Posted By admin On September 29, 2010 @ 4:15 am In World News | 3 Comments

AFP [1]
Sept 29, 2010

Tim Berners-Lee, the man credited with inventing the world wide web, warned Tuesday of the “blight” of new laws being introduced across the globe allowing people to be cut off from the Internet.

“There’s been a rash of laws trying to give governments and Internet service providers (ISPs) the right and the duty to disconnect people,” he told a conference on web science at the Royal Society in London.

The “current blight” includes a French law that comes into effect this year that threatens to cut people off if they illegally download from the Internet, and a new British law passed in April which could see similar action, he said.

I have long known that the Marine dress blues were redesigned in 1947, but I was not aware of the reasons behind this. But alas, there is a story here too. Myself, I have always thought that the old blues blouse w/o the pockets looked better than the new version. I have mentioned this before on my sites and forums, and I have received a few responses back from old salts stating that they had been issued old style blues after 1947, and most disagreed with my opinion, preferring the appearance of the new blouse w/pockets over the previous blouse.

Once again, a few facts related to the above have come to my attention from the writings of Colonel Robert Debs Heinl USMC (Ret.), deceased.

Col Heinl writes in his book, Soldiers Of The Sea, that in the years immediately following World War II, and this was during that period of the unification battle where the Marine Corps was threatened with being legislated out of existence and/or being absorbed into the Army, the War Department had convened a board to survey the post-war lot of the enlisted man. The recommendations of this board, which Col Heinl describes as “mischievous insofar as the regular forces were concerned.” It called for an almost complete leveling between officers and enlisted men, with a concomitant abandonment of disciplinary traditions proven in peace and war. Saluting was to be deemphasized; officer and enlisted uniforms were to be made alike; badges of enlisted rank made small and inconspicuous; and, officer and NCO priviliges slashed. “From the “egaltarian tenor of the Doolittle report, one had the impressions of the peasants and workers remolding the Tsarist armies of the 1917. Everything was there but political commissars and comrades.”

Col Heinl goes on to say that Marine uniforms were then made to make it difficult to tell officers from enlisted men; officer-style pockets were put on redesigned enlisted blues; enlisted chevrons were kept small, and; the salty and distinctive barracks cap was abolished in favor of a more conservative one like the officers.

The Corps was (almost forced) to accept the Army ranks of master sergeant, technical sergeant, and staff sergeant, but accept them it did. It had been recommended that the rank titles of chief sergeant, sergeant 1st, 2d, and 3d class be adopted, and this nearly came to be. No wonder the CMC accepted the Army rank titles as a compromise.

“That this stroke created a new Corps without gunnery sergeants and abolished rank titles in some cases going back to 1798 (such as quartermaster sergeant) was seemingly overlooked.”

As a matter of fact, “Doomed by the war, but not killed until a year afterward was the prolifery of enlisted ranks which had gradually flowered since 1922.” When the rank titles of master sergeant, technical sergeant, staff sergeant, sergeant, and corporal were adopted for Marine NCOs, so too were gone the enlisted rank titles, in addition to the quartermaster sergeant already mentioned above, of sergeant major, first sergeant, master gunnery sergeant, master technical sergeant, paymaster sergeant, gunnery sergeant, supply sergeant, drum major, platoon sergeant, chief cook, field music sergeant, field cook, field music corporal, assistant cook, field music first class, and field music.

I take note here that the Marine Corps had indeed previously already used the rank titles of M/Sgt, T/Sgt, and S/Sgt (in addition to many other rank titles) for some years, but these were known to have been originally Army ranks. What was being imposed upon the Marine Corps here was the then current rank titles in use by the U.S. Army.

Interestingly, the Marine Corps had combined two of these previous Army ranks to create their Master Technical Sergeant rank. And, of course the Master Gunnery Sergeant was a variation of both the unique Marine gunnery sergeant rank which dates to 1898, and the (Army) master sergeant rank.

Surprising it is that these cases of politics as usual, political correctness, or just plain bullshit, depending upon your personal perception and choice of terms, seems to appear not only without ending through the years, but also seemingly almost without beginning–unless, of course, in general, you would go all the way back to the Garden of Eden.

Some things never change.

Gunny G:

Many have asked why I have not indicated, eagle, globe and anchor, rather than just “GLOBE and ANCHOR,” implying that I have erred.

No error, it reads as I intended. Apparently unknown to most Marines of today, there was a time in the Corps when Marines referred to their emblem (EMBLEM, not “ega”–but that’s yet another story) as simply the “Globe and Anchor,” and there are still some old timers and writers around who use the term. There are many writings available, most of them older writings, but some more recent, where you will find this.

One of the best examples of this, perhaps, may be–and there are many more–a quote in the recent book by Colonel Jon T. Hoffman, USMCR, Chesty. It reads as follows:

“Colonel Robert D. Heinl, the premier historian of the Old Corps and a former subordinate of Puller, believed that Chesty was one of the greatest raconteurs that ever wore the Globe and Anchor.”
(Random House, 2001, Preface, page xi)

Globe and Anchor was still a common expression even in this old boot’s first days in the Corps of the early 1950s. (I find the term a reminder to me of the term used by the Royal Marines for their emblem, known as the Globe and Laurel.

Matter of fact, I do not recall our emblem being specifically referred to as an eagle, globe and anchor until the very late 1950s or early ’60s, on TV recruiting promotions, ads, etc.It was a little jingle that was sung to the words, “wear the eagle, globe and anchor of the Corps…for service in the air, on ship or shore…”

To be sure, the popular term has now become “eagle, globe and anchor,” and considered by the majority to be the correct term, even shortened to “ega”and, apparently, anything else being incorrect in the eyes of the younger Marines.

Not this Marine. As always, I’ll fall in w/the old salts. Besides, “Globe and Anchor” has a fine ring to it, it clicks

Devvy’s EMail Alerts: As discussed on my radio show last night, Black Box Voting. org, etc.

As discussed on my radio show last night:

Black Box Voting. org

September 14, 2010 – 4:08 pm:

“In the Aug. 5, 2010 Shelby County Tennessee election, multiple vote databases were in use at various times throughout the election, each recording different and sometimes conflicting actions by election administrators.

“A primary rule in elections is that there should be only one database in use to record each step of an election from its initial setup through the counting of the votes, just as a primary rule in accounting is that there should only be one set of books to record financial transactions. In this election, however, that basic and important rule was violated.

“The GEMS election database is the formal accounting system for Shelby County votes. Shelby County incorrectly implements GEMS election accounting procedures in several ways.

“Audit logs in 19 election databases show activity while the election was taking place. Fifteen of these properly show identical events, indicating that they are backups at various points in time.”

Proof is on Bev’s web site – she has the logs:

Citizens’ Group Helps Uncover Alleged Rampant Voter Fraud in Houston

“Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,” Engelbrecht said. “We then decided to look at who was registering the voters.”

“Their work paid off. Two weeks ago the Harris County voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the Texas secretary of state’s office and the Harris County district attorney.

“Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Sean Caddle, who also worked for the Service Employees International Union before coming to Houston. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid.

“The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.

Votes from Beyond the Grave

I guarantee you — the “elections” in November will get very ugly regarding fraud. The Democrats are desperate. Candidates must stop conceding the results five minutes or even an hour after the polls close. Audit the vote as the counting goes on for weeks.

Afghanistan’s dirty little secret

“Western forces fighting in southern Afghanistan had a problem. Too often, soldiers on patrol passed an older man walking hand-in-hand with a pretty young boy. Their behavior suggested he was not the boy’s father. Then, British soldiers found that young Afghan men were actually trying to “touch and fondle them. For centuries, Afghan men have taken boys, roughly 9 to 15 years old, as lovers. Some research suggests that half the Pashtun tribal members in Kandahar and other southern towns are bacha baz, the term for an older man with a boy lover. Literally it means “boy player.” The men like to boast about it. “Having a boy has become a custom for us,” Enayatullah, a 42-year-old in Baghlan province, told a Reuters reporter. “Whoever wants to show off should have a boy.”

Gunny G: One Marine’s Remarks Regarding D-Day At Normandy, etc.

September 29, 2010 2 comments

Sunday, June 06, 2004

This weekend (June 2004) marks the 60th anniversary of the Normandy invasion of WW II. There has been much ado in the media and so forth regarding the massive Normandy “amphibious invasion,” Ike’s brilliant planning and execution, courage, heroism, etc.–and rightfully so.The Normandy invasion is often regarded as the largest amphibious operation in history; some have even compared the amphibious landings in the Pacific as miniscule in comparison.

In perusing the book, Soldiers Of The Sea-The United States Marine Corps, 1775-1962, by Robert Debs Heinl, Jr., Colonel, USMC (The National Aviation Publishing Company of America, Baltimore, Maryland, 1991, page 513), I find an interesting remark by the author regarding the above.

“Under atomic attack, the World war II amphibious assault was finished. Normandy (more a ferrying operation than a true oceanic amphibious assault in any case) and Okinawa would never be repeated.”

Of course, there was another amphibious landing, at Inchon in 1950.

Although Col. Heinl’s mention of Normandy, above, is not much more than an aside comment and not the main thrust of his point regarding amphibious assault in general, his remark does, I think, sum up and define the major difference between the Normandy Invasion and Marine Corps amphibious operations in the Pacific. And he does so in a very few words, and in a more correct light than is usually perceived.

I like Colonel Heinl’s insights into historical Marine Corps topics as he is always most thorough, and he delves into areas usually left untouched by other writers. Then, too, Heinl’s book sports a photo by S/Sgt Lou Lowery (Leatherneck magazine) of the Iwo Jima Flag Raising; not the Joe Rosenthal version, mind you, but the first flag raising that preceeded the “replacemnet flag” raising some time later, which was captured on motion-picture film by Sgt Genaust, and photographed by Rosenthal. But, then, this is an area of special interest to me.

And also, part of the book title says it all, and immediately gains my attention–”…1775-1962,” for it was those years that I find as most significant, and interesting for me.

Is Glenn Beck for Real? 29beck2
Glenn Beck stands before a crowd in front of the Lincoln Memorial during his ‘Restoring Honor’ rally. Photo credit Luke X. Martin. Used under creative commons [2] license.

Glenn Beck, as a national media figure, has never been consistent. While he has been seen on TV supporting big government bailouts, new taxes and unlimited war under the dubious banner of “conservative,” Beck has also made a name as a Libertarian of sorts, and now as a tax-revolting Patriot leader within the Tea Party.

But what Glenn Beck has never done, until now, is come so close to telling the truth. In recent episodes, as on September 22, Beck has highlighted the agenda of “global elites,” while digging up valid information on some very serious advocates of World Government, like Col. Edward Mandell House, the foreign affairs advisor to Woodrow Wilson who helped found the Federal Reserve and the Council on Foreign Relations. In the same episode, Glenn Beck exposed Eugenics as an American experiment that morphed into the Nazi Holocaust and linked Cass Sunstein with his intellectual ancestor, Edward Bernays, who refined the art of propaganda [3] to facilitate covert social engineering and control.

All this is not only new ground for Beck, but for televised news at large. Those in power clearly intend that The People would pay attention to Sarah Palin, Barack Obama, Lindsay Lohan and American Idol, not find out the aims of the Council on Foreign Relations, a publicly-obscure but deeply-influential elitist think tank. Though many of Beck’s infamous Fox News programs have revolved around convoluted diagrams and misinformed flow-charts linking entities like the White House and the SDS with Van Jones, 9/11 and Nazism (and so on…), he has now reached the point of concise and important historical examples demonstrating the elite controlled agenda.

So is Glenn Beck for real?

That question has come up again and again, as the crew continues research Beck, the Tea Parties and the attempt to control what Zbigniew Brzezinski recently termed as the ‘first truly global awakening.’ [4]

Obama: Not Moses, Merely Elmer Gantry Article paints a picture of an out-of-control POTUS

September 29, 2010 Leave a comment

The abject failure of the Obama administration is painfully obvious. Herman Cain described the situation:Millions of voters have come to realize that this presidency lacks leadership, direction, decisiveness, economic urgency and, most of all, solutions.

This combination of deficiencies has produced a more than uninspired citizenry, except for the most loyal and misled supporters of the president. While many recognize the failure, few are aware of the potential dangers ahead.

The FailureThe White House billed this summer as “the summer of recovery.” To those who believed, this promise turned out to be a cruel joke. The phrase rapidly took its place amongst other memorable political gaffes like “Read my lips…,” “Whip Inflation Now,” and “Economic Malaise.”Despite the obvious, the president travels the land proclaiming economic successes. Mr. Obama is either oblivious or believes he is unaccountable for what he says. The “white lies” of politics provide wide boundaries for the truth, yet he is well outside them.Mr. Obama’s narcissism and self-proclaimed and self-believed messiah image drive his behavior. Unfortunately, the magic is gone.

Mr. Obama is now perceived as the emperor sans clothes. The public no longer sees Moses, but Elmer Gantry. Elmer Gantry knew what he was about. Obama seems to still believe he is Moses, and therein lies the danger.

The Real Reason Obama Supports Reverend Wright

September 29, 2010 Leave a comment

Approximately two decades ago, while he was working as an activist in Chicago, Obama came to the Trinity Church in order to hear its pastor Jeremiah Wright. Obama was not particularly religious; in fact, when pastors asked which church he attended, he typically hemmed and hawed. But, in The Audacity of Hope, Obama writes, “I was drawn to the power of the African American religious tradition to spur social change.” Trinity, Obama had heard, was that kind of church. Obama’s interest was sharply boosted when he saw a sign spiked into the grass outside the church building: FREE SOUTH AFRICA.

In the Reverend Wright, Obama encountered a man who frequently wore a dashiki or other African garb. A charismatic figure who was also an intellectual, Wright was capable of moving between the First World and the Third World, and of blending literary and political references with his biblical themes.

Obliterating a Generation of Democrats editorial

September 29, 2010 1 comment

Thanks to the leadership of President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid, the Democratic Party is facing the biggest defeat in midterm elections in the past 110 years, perhaps surpassing the modern record of a 74-seat gain set in 1922. They will also lose control of the Senate.Republicans are now leading in 54 Democratic House districts. In 19 more, the incumbent congressman is under 50 percent and his GOP challenger is within five points.

That makes 73 seats where victory is within easy grasp for the Republican Party. The only reason the list is not longer is that there are 160 Democratic House districts that were considered so strongly blue that there is no recent polling available. There is no Democratic message. President Obama is heralding education – an issue never mentioned on the campaign trail. Secretary of State Clinton is trying to restart the peace talks in the Middle East. Attorney General Holder is re-evaluating online national-security taps. And a hundred Democrats are scrambling about on their own trying to get reelected! The Democratic campaigns they are waging are formulaic. They make no attempt to defend the administration, but run away from it where possible. They never mention the words stimulus, healthcare reform, card-check, GM takeover or cap-and-trade.Instead, they are running almost exclusively negative ads.

They base their campaigns on tax liens, failed marriages, DWIs and the like. Where there is a paucity of dirt, they resort to three prefab negatives: that their opponent favors a 23 percent national sales tax, that he wants to privatize Social Security and that he is shipping jobs overseas.

Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.” — President George Washington

The internet has connected people who would likely never have met otherwiseby Ron EwartSept. 28, 2010 — During the Revolutionary War it took almost a month for any news of the war to reach Europe by sailing vessel. Local news was delivered by courier, on foot or on horse back and was distributed by the newspapers of the day.

In the rural areas of the colonies, war news took days or even weeks to reach the inhabitants.During the Civil War, news reached newspaper outlets in the urban centers by the telegraph, or a little less rapidly by train. In the 20th century, with the new technology of radio and eventually TV, the news reached the people virtually instantly. But never have the people of the planet been able to obtain so much news and information and communicate, discuss and debate that information amongst themselves, individually, until the Internet and e-mail was born. The World Wide Web has brought the citizens of the world together like no other time in history. Never before have the roots of freedom been able to reach almost anyone in the world with a computer and internet access. Radio Free Europe was a flea on the behind of an elephant, in comparison to the millions who are now wired into the Internet.Internet technology has allowed a discourse between all the peoples of the Earth, of every single issue that confronts mankind. It is government’s worst nightmare and some rogue governments have shut down Internet access to the citizens of their country for this very reason.

Beware the government that would limit, manipulate or exploit the free flow of information and individual communications on the Internet, including the American government.

America’s youth in particular are being intoxicated and brainwashed at an exponential rate with Lucifer’s subtle and godless message of “Do as Thou wilt.”What is even more tragic is the majority of “out to lunch” parents who are totally oblivious and gullible about the damnable influence this culture and its demonic propaganda has over their children. These are messages of godlessness, anti-authority, licentiousness and promiscuity, immorality, vice, drug use, suicide, anarchy, violence, rape, “godless good,” delusional aspirations and fallen human hopes apart from the Creator in righteousness. These OTL parents are just as delusional and are products themselves of the same brainwashing and narcissistic tactics used by the Devil in the decadent and subjective 60’s music culture.

Army judge tells officer:
Shut up and be punished!

Defense counsel warns ‘fair trial’
impossible under military rulings

By Brian Fitzpatrick

Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin

FORT MEADE, Md. – An Army judge has made it “impossible” for a career medical officer to get a fair hearing on charges he refused to deploy to Afghanistan because of concern that obeying orders in the chain of command under an ineligible commander in chief would be illegal, his attorney says.

The rulings came today from Col. Denise Lind, who in so many words told Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin to pound sand. Rocks actually. He faces up to four years at hard labor if convicted in his case.

“We got absolutely slammed today,” said Paul R. Jensen, lead counsel for the defense. “It’s impossible for us to have a fair trial under these rulings.”

See the movie Obama does not want you to see: Own the DVD that probes this unprecedented presidential-eligibility mystery!

Jensen continued, “The judge did what she thought was right, but the result is to deprive us of any opportunity to have a defense.”

Lakin believes any order issued under Obama’s authority as commander in chief of the armed forces may not be valid because his eligibility to serve as president is unproven. After fruitlessly requesting the Army to verify Obama’s eligibility to serve as president, Lakin wrote directly to Obama asking for proof of eligibility.

(Story continues below)

But without a response, Lakin decided it was his duty to refuse an order to deploy with his unit as part of Obama’s Afghanistan surge. As one of the defense briefs states, he “… [took] the distasteful route of inviting his own court martial.”

Note: A legal-defense fund has been set up for Lt. Col. Terry Lakin. Click for information.

In her decision, Lind, acting as judge in the case, censored the last remaining arguments Lakin planned to make in his defense: motive and duty. Lakin had intended to explain his motive for disobeying the order and contend that it was his duty as a good soldier to disobey orders that he believes to be illegal.

The defense also planned to call as witnesses Ambassador Alan Keyes and retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney. Keyes was to explain the constitutional issues involved in the case, and McInerney was to talk about the training soldiers receive regarding when they should question and even disobey orders.

Lind was following up on her rulings from Sept. 2, when she rejected defense plans to introduce evidence concerning Obama’s eligibility. The defense also requested for Lakin’s defense documents referencing Obama’s birth records on file in Hawaii, but Lind refused to allow that either, noting that providing the documents might prove “embarrassing” to Obama.

“Our arms were cut off last time,” said Jensen. “Our legs are being cut off this time.”

In rejecting Lakin’s right to discovery of Obama birth documents, Lind joined a host of other judges – in civilian courts – who have refused to allow plaintiffs suing Obama to obtain his birth records. Jensen told WND he had hoped the court would permit Lakin to go to discovery, because Lakin is the defendant in a criminal case and has the right to mount a full defense.

In objecting to the participation of Keyes and McInerney and the presentation of Lakin’s planned arguments, the prosecution argued that all issues related to Obama’s eligibility, Lakin’s motives and the good soldier doctrine were “irrelevant.”

“We have to have the opportunity to present some defense!” Jensen countered.

Just before Lind recessed the hearing to prepare her decision, Jensen asked rhetorically whether the government intended to allow him to call any witnesses at all and thundered, “This is all we had left!”

Jensen’s pleas fell on deaf ears. Less than two hours after the court recessed following arguments, Lind returned to the bench to render a lengthy, detailed decision. Reading in a dry monotone, Lind reaffirmed her Sept. 2 decision and ruled out discussions of motive and duty.

Lind, with her rulings, effectively has restricted the scope of Lakin’s trial to what the government wanted: the simple questions of whether the officer had received orders to deploy to Afghanistan and whether he complied.

Neither of these facts is in dispute

But Jensen said the trial will not end the case.

Obama in Command: The Rolling Stone Interview

September 28, 2010 Leave a comment

In an Oval Office interview, the president discusses the Tea Party, the war, the economy and what’s at stake this November ___What do you think of Fox News? Do you think it’s a good institution for America and for democracy?

[Laughs] Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press. We’ve got a tradition in this country of a press that oftentimes is opinionated. The golden age of an objective press was a pretty narrow span of time in our history. Before that, you had folks like Hearst who used their newspapers very intentionally to promote their viewpoints.

I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view. It’s a point of view that I disagree with. It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world. But as an economic enterprise, it’s been wildly successful. And I suspect that if you ask Mr. Murdoch what his number-one concern is, it’s that Fox is very successful.

Obama Says Fox News Is Hurting The Growth Of The United States

September 28, 2010 Leave a comment

President Obama has attacked Fox News in an interview with Rolling Stone, questioning the impact of the channel on the long term health of the U.S. economy.

From the Rolling Stone Interview via MSNBC, emphasis ours:I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view. It’s a point of view that I disagree with. It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world. But as an economic enterprise, it’s been wildly successful. And I suspect that if you ask Mr. Murdoch what his number-one concern is, it’s that Fox is very successful.President Obama also criticized the “glass as half-empty” views of many Democrats emphasis ours:It’s like, “Well, gosh, we’ve got this historic health care legislation that we’ve been trying to get for 100 years, but it didn’t have every bell and whistle that we wanted right now, so let’s focus on what we didn’t get instead of what we got.”

That self-critical element of the progressive mind is probably a healthy thing, but it can also be debilitating. And President Obama also attacked those in the hedge fund industry, complaining about the Carried Interest tax emphasis ours:I know a lot of these guys who started hedge funds. They are making large profits, taking home large incomes, but because of a rule called “carried interest,” they are paying lower tax rates than their secretaries, or the janitor that cleans up the building. Or folks who are out there as police

Now Obama Wants To Wiretap Your Email

September 28, 2010 Leave a comment

My, how things change.Or not.Remember this? Eliminate Warrantless Wiretaps. Barack Obama opposed the Bush Administration’s initial policy on warrantless wiretaps because it crossed the line between protecting our national security and eroding the civil liberties of American citizens.

As president, Obama would update the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to provide greater oversight and accountability to the congressional intelligence committees to prevent future threats to the rule of law.Naturally, that went the way of all Obama promises: On the campaign trail, Barack Obama harshly criticized Bush administration policies allowing warrantless wiretaps. But, since he assumed office as president, Obama’s Justice Department has attempted to deny a private organization the right to sue the federal government for wiretapping communications without court authorization.Ironically, more and more people are missing the old days:

In Warrantless Wiretapping Case, Obama DOJ’s New Arguments Are Worse Than Bush’s We had hoped this would go differently. Friday evening, in a motion to dismiss Jewel v. NSA, EFF’s litigation against the National Security Agency for the warrantless wiretapping of countless Americans, the Obama Administration made two deeply troubling arguments.

NWV News – UN Seeks Control of Planet’s Drinking Water

September 28, 2010 Leave a comment

This past week was a busy one in New York City’s United Nations building. Besides the speeches by Iran’s president and the U.S. president, there were meetings and conferences regarding the future of planet earth. While all eyes were on the speeches and pomp and circumstance of world leaders, the denizens of U.S. newsrooms ignored what one observer termed “The Mother of All Power Grabs.”

The United Nations General Assembly is considering a historic resolution recognizing the human right to “safe and clean drinking water and sanitation” initiated by the Bolivian government. Other UN members have been consulted on the resolution and the final text is expected to be presented to the President of the General Assembly. In a letter sent today to all UN Ambassadors and permanent missions, global water advocate and Blue Planet Project founder Maude Barlow urges a decisive and swift passage of the resolution.”This would be one of the most important things the UN has done since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,” says Barlow, who chairs the boards of the Council of Canadians and Washington-based Food and Water Watch. In 2008/2009, Barlow served as Senior Advisor on Water to the 63rd President of the UN General Assembly.”It’s time politics caught up with reality,” says Barlow, noting that nearly two billion people live in water-stressed areas of the world and three billion have no running water within a kilometre of their homes. “It’s time states finally recognize water as essential to life and a fundamental human right.

“But this latest moved — backed by U.S. progressives — is viewed as disturbing by conservative activists such as political strategist Mike Baker.

The 5 Biggest Lies about Liberalism

September 28, 2010 Leave a comment

If you haven’t seen the billboards yet, liberals love multiculturalism, they embrace all races and religions because they believe in diversity. True? Nope.Liberals follow the left’s paradigm of waging class warfare. Their interest in minorities extends only to enlisting some disenfranchised groups in their class warfare. Contrary to all the multicultural billboards, liberals are primarily interested in unsuccessful minorities, because they can frighten them, exploit them and farm them as voting blocks.

Successful minorities such as Asians, Indians and Jews are wanted only as window dressing. And get the short end of the stick when a real issue comes up.Multiculturalism is really only class warfare disguised as opposition to bigotry. Take away all the historical revisionism about the Democratic party’s ugly civil rights history and the empty slogans about diversity, and what you have left is naked political opportunism. The Democratic party trafficked in racism when it suited them and still does and dons the halo of tolerance when it suits them now. The left was equally at home working both sides of the street, and the views of great socialists from Jack London to Karl Marx on race, differed little from those of the Nazi party.Multiculturalism isn’t a philosophy, it’s a political organization tactic to bring the groups they consider part of the working class under one umbrella. It’s the same old class warfare organizational tactics applied to race and ethnicity. The goal of these tactics is not empowerment, but to create a voting bloc of people who have been convinced that they’re doomed to helplessness, without the leadership of the left “fighting” on their behalf.Liberals can still be and often are bigots.

Their bigotry is just informed by political necessity. As a bonus, having the “diversity” brand allows them to describe the opposition as bigots, without ever being called out for their own bigotry.FeminismWe all know of course that liberals are the biggest feminists out there, except when they’re running against a woman. Or when a woman accuses their candidate of rape or sexual harassment.

Introduction to The Road Through 2012: Revolution or World War III

1: Economic Imperial Operations

When we analyze our current crisis, focusing on the past few years of economic activity blinds us to the history and context that are vital to understanding the root cause. What we have been experiencing is not the result of an unforeseen economic crash that appeared out of the blue with the collapse of the housing market. It was certainly not brought on by people who bought homes they couldn’t afford. To frame this crisis around a debate on economic theory misses the point entirely. To even blame it on greedy bankers, while essentially accurate, also misses the most vital point.

This crisis is the direct result of a strategic economic attack on the existence of a middle class and democracy worldwide. The stock market and economy have become weapons of mass oppression manipulated by an imperial banking cartel to impose order and exploit the masses. This crisis boldly represents the manifest evolution of the fascist spirit reasserting itself as the dominant ideology.

Your Insane U.S. Energy Department by Alan Caruba

Your Insane U.S. Energy Departmentby Alan CarubaWarning SignsRecently by Alan Caruba:

Why It’s Too Darn Hot In mid-September, Cathy Zoi, an Assistant Secretary of Energy, said that the U.S. Department of Energy has a “mandate” to issue regulations about what household appliances should be available to Americans in the future.A CNSnews story reported that while speaking at the inaugural meeting of the recently reestablished Secretary of Energy Advisory Board, Ms. Zoi “pointed to four tactics the Obama administration intended to use to advance the ‘deployment of clean energy.’ The first three were government subsidies, special tax incentives, and low-interest government-backed loans for green energy projects.”The likelihood that any of these “green energy” projects will yield any electrical power comparable to a single coal-fired or nuclear plant is negligible. Two recent huge wastes of taxpayer money involve a $57 million program that includes $11 million under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act – the failed “stimulus” plan – to support clean energy technology commercialization projects for 33 small businesses across the country.Among the projects is “harvesting/dewatering technology for algal biofuels,” money devoted to algae as a source of power. Other projects include organic light-emitting diodes, and advanced materials and bio-fueled oxide fuel cells. Meanwhile, the moratorium on oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico restricts the provision of an energy source on which the nation is dependent. In September the DOE also awarded $37 million for “marine and hydrokinetic energy technology development.”

The object of this is to “accelerate the technologies and commercial readiness of technologies to generate renewable electricity from the nation’s oceans and free-flowing rivers and streams.” Meanwhile the nation already generates six percent of its electricity from hydroelectric systems among which the Hoover Dam is one of the best known. The Department of Energy was created in the wake of the oil crisis of the 1970s and was signed into existence by President Jimmy Carter on August 4, 1977. Its responsibilities were the nation’s nuclear weapons program, a nuclear reactor for the U.S. Navy, energy conservation, energy-related research, radioactive waste disposal, and domestic energy production. It currently employs 16,000 federal workers and, in 2009, had an annual budget of $24.1 billion. President Obama appointed Dr. Steven Chu as its Secretary. Dr. Chu is perhaps best known for recommending that global warming can be avoided by painting the roofs and highways white in order to reflect back the sun’s radiation. Will someone please get a net and throw it over Dr. Chu?

Shut Down the Fed by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

Shut Down the Fedby Ambrose Evans-PritchardRecently by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard: IMF Fears ‘Social Explosion’ From World Jobs Crisis I apologise to readers around the world for having defended the emergency stimulus policies of the US Federal Reserve, and for arguing like an imbecile naif that the Fed would not succumb to drug addiction, political abuse, and mad intoxicated debauchery, once it began taking its first shots of quantitative easing.

My pathetic assumption was that Ben Bernanke would deploy further QE only to stave off DEFLATION, not to create INFLATION. If the Federal Open Market Committee cannot see the difference, God help America. We now learn from last week’s minutes that the Fed is willing “to provide additional accommodation if needed to … return inflation, over time, to levels consistent with its mandate.”NO, NO, NO, this cannot possibly be true.Ben Bernanke has not only refused to abandon his idee fixe of an “inflation target”, a key cause of the global central banking catastrophe of the last twenty years because it can and did allow asset booms to run amok, and let credit levels reach dangerous extremes.Worse still, he seems determined to print trillions of emergency stimulus without commensurate emergency justification to test his Princeton theories, which by the way are as old as the hills. Keynes ridiculed the “tyranny of the general price level” in the early 1930s, and quite rightly so. Bernanke is reviving a doctrine that was already shown to be bunk eighty years ago.So all those hillsmen in Idaho, with their Colt 45s and boxes of krugerrands, who sent furious emails to the Telegraph accusing me of defending a hyperinflating establishment cabal were right all along.

The Fed is indeed out of control. The sophisticates at banking conferences in London, Frankfurt, and New York who aplogized for this primitive monetary creationsim – as I did – are the ones who lost the plot.
