Glenn Beck’s efforts to transform himself from Fox News demagogue into a religious leader for Tea Party America has a lot of commentators discussing the feasibility of a Mormon convert leading a wary evangelical and Catholic right in a faith-driven cause.

While there are significant roadblocks hindering Beck’s quest for leadership in the Christian Right, he wouldn’t be the first Mormon to advocate a right-wing alliance that stretches across faiths.

Beck follows hundreds of Mormon “pro-family” activists who have united with conservative Catholics and evangelicals to form a common front in the culture wars.

In day where Jimmy Carter stole headlines for referring to his own tenure post-presidency as “superior” to that of other presidents, I thought it was somewhat disappointing that his real mind-bender was seemingly overlooked – even though it came in the very same interview as his other absolutely ridiculous comments.

Remarking on the “state” of the United States, after being asked by Brian Williams if he views it as “glass half-full or half-empty”, Carter said he thought President Obama suffers from a Washington that has become more polarized than it was during the time of Abraham Lincoln and the “initiation of the ‘war between the states.’”

Gen. James Amos, who is poised to become the new Marine Corps commandant, opposes repealing the current “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that bars openly gay and lesbian soldiers from the military.

The Senate Armed Services Committee, which held a hearing Tuesday on the nomination of Amos to become commandant, released 37 pages of policy questions the general answered in advance.”

In my personal view the current law and associated policy have supported the unique requirements of the Marine Corps and thus I do not recommend its repeal,” Amos wrote.”My primary concern with proposed repeal is the potential disruption to cohesion that may be caused by significant change during a period of expended combat operations,” Amos said in his answer to the committee’s advance questions….Amos said he had heard that at Marine bases and in Marines’ responses to an online survey, the feeling “is predominantly negative.”

Obama Has No Intentions of Enforcing Our Immigration Laws

The American Political Action Committee AmeriPAC posted an article online on September 17, 2010 titled, “Obama Gives Illegals Get Out of Jail Card Free” written by Alan M. Gottlieb, Chairman that shows that “the Obama regime has radically changed the federal immigration enforcement stategy to REDUCE the threat of deportation for millions of illegals.

”The article goes on to explain that Obama has ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE to dismiss deportation cases for those illegals who haven’t committed “serious crimes.” To my way of thinking, just crossing the border without legal authority is a “serious crime” and using that criterion they should ALL be deported. But even so, if more tolerance could reduce that violation of our laws to less than a “serious crime,” we know that it will only be a matter of hours, and more likely minutes, before they do commit a “serious crime.”And as Gottlieb further states, “Obama has turned a blind eye on the surge in violent crimes committed by illegals across the country and is now giving them more rights than law-abiding Americans.”

There is no question that Obama’s prime motive for ordering such a radical order counter to proper law enforcement and protection of our sovereignty laws is as apparent as a bright floodlight:

‘Keep them here until at least after they have voted on November 2, 2010.’

The key story from this morning was the Bloomberg report that GMAC Bank had halted foreclosures in 23 states, following disturbing news from last week that rekindled the latent debate over whether servicer banks do in fact own deeds to mortgages on which they foreclose on, and whether the entire foreclosure process is in fact fraudulent one judge found it to be so, creating a massive headache precedent for the banker community.

Yet the company which initially agreed with Bloomberg’s version of events, is now retracing and claiming that foreclosures are in fact continuing… with a footnote. Reuters reports: “GMAC Mortgage, a unit of Ally Financial Inc, is continuing with all new residential foreclosures despite a report it had stopped them, a spokeswoman said on Monday. But some evictions have been suspended while the company reviews its internal procedures, the company said.” Maybe the company can clarify just what event catalyzed the decision to suspend evictions, and specifically which “internal procedures” are being reviewed. Also, it is about time for the ABA to step in and share some insight on a topic that has millions of Americans suddenly in arms.

It’s a Long Way Back to the Constitution

Back when Candidate Obama announced that he was only five days away from “fundamentally transforming the United States,” most people didn’t know what that meant any more than they knew who Obama was.

Obama was true to his word, and in just under two years, the attacks on our values and institutions have changed the country in fundamental ways.

On the bright side, if not for the arrogant and reckless blitzkrieg that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid unleashed on the country, it is doubtful that comprehensive grassroots resistance would have materialized. Consequently, it appears as though Mr. Obama has reawakened a sleeping giant.For generations, Americans were the proverbial frogs in the warming kettle, slowly losing their freedoms but with little concern.

In a sense, we may be thankful that President Obama cranked up the burner to a full flame without comprehending how the American people might respond.To the bewilderment of the ruling class, the American people responded by flooding the congressional town hall meetings in the summer of 2009, demanding that their legislators “read the bill” before passing volumes of sea-change legislation.

After the protests of the people fell on deaf ears, the people began to organize. Ironically, the former community voting-block organizer witnessed the American people organize in a way and at a level that can be described only as unprecedented in United States history.

Now, with the influence and success of the Tea Party movement in the midterm primaries, there is much debate over whether the movement will harm the GOP‘s chances of taking the House and/or Senate in the fall elections.

It creates a master-servant relationship because all money comes from privately held debt.Let me say that again.

ALL MONEY COMES FROM DEBT for those of us who suffered the most indoctrination by attending schools like Harvard, let’s pause here for a moment so we can catch up to the rest of the class.

This means in order for governments, businesses, and people to have the liquidity necessary to live, they must agree to sign over a claim on their assets to banks. As the banking system inflates over time passing out credit, which makes everyone feel good with more digits in their accounts, it gathers claims on all the assets in the system for its private capital holders. Admittedly, this is one way of facilitating development good students would’ve figured out a better way had they not been stifled.

But it’s also the method for transferring everyone else’s assets to the balance sheets of the capital holders behind the banks once deflation sets in.This is what we’re facing today. The global banking system has a claim on most assets in the world except those in places like Iran, so it’s no surprise the military is gearing up to conquer the region for Wall Street and its Harvard employees…like JP Morgan Chase moving in on the mineral assets seized in Afghanistan because it’s a primary bank that pays the military-industrial complex to conquer territory for it.

Well, if Donald Berwick’s favorite health-care system is to survive, the Brits have to do something, don’t they? The British government’s tax agency has proposed a new process for employers in the private and public sectors to pay their workers.

Instead of actually giving the money to the employees, they’ll pay Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, which will then decide just how much to allow the workers to keep: The UK’s tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer.

The proposal by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs HMRC stresses the need for employers to provide real-time information to the government so that it can monitor all payments and make a better assessment of whether the correct tax is being paid. Currently employers withhold tax and pay the government, providing information at the end of the year, a system know as Pay as You Earn PAYE.

There is no option for those employees to refuse withholding and individually file a tax return at the end of the year. If the real-time information plan works, it further proposes that employers hand over employee salaries to the government first.What could go wrong? Well … plenty, actually. I’ve worked as a midlevel manager at firms that use direct deposit for pay which I use myself, and I’ve seen mistakes made. One employee got paid $14,000 for one two-week period, which the company had to claw back. The next fortnight, he got 56 cents in his direct deposit, which took two days to correct.

Now imagine having to deal with a government bureaucracy when these mistakes get made, and one can imagine the disasters that await. Plus, thanks to this process, the government will have access to everyone’s bank accounts, too. Goody!

Patton Discovered The Truth And Was Killed For It

As General Patton started to actually become acquainted with the defeated Germans and America‘s Soviet allies, Patton finally realized what he was in the midst of, and his opinions about the war, and both our enemies and allies changed drastically.

Okay, now that I’ve bashed the Libertarian and Constitutional political parties as being worthless, how about the so-called “Tea Party”? Does it have any chance of achieving anything positive?Well, the Tea Party as a whole doesn’t actually believe anything. Basically, it’s a conglomeration of lots of people disaffected with the “government” they see today.

Well, so what? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to recognize that something is horribly wrong.

The question is, what do the Tea Partiers intend to do about it? If they were in charge, what would they do?The trouble is, very few of them have anything even vaguely resembling a coherent philosophy or belief system. When I hear people using terms like “reasonable regulatory controls,” “responsible government spending,” “lower taxes,” “accountability in government,” and so on, it tells me that their complaints are not based on actual principles, but are based only upon the current unpleasant side-effects of tyranny.

They see things to complain about, but they haven’t the slightest clue of the underlying cause of the problems.

In truth, the underlying cause is still lodged firmly inside their very own heads. They firmly believe in the very delusions that led to the current disaster, and that would lead to it again if they were “in charge.”

58% Of Americans Want A Third Party

PRINCETON, NJ —

Americans’ desires for a third political party are as high as they have been in seven years. Fifty-eight percent of Americans believe a third major political party is needed because the Republican and Democratic Parties do a poor job of representing the American people.

FDA won’t allow food to be labeled free of genetic modification: report

‘Extra labeling only confuses the consumer,’ biotech spokesman saysThat the Food and Drug Administration is opposed to labeling foods that are genetically modified is no surprise anymore, but a report in the Washington Post indicates the FDA won’t even allow food producers to label their foods as being free of genetic modification.In reporting that the FDA will likely not require the labeling of genetically modified salmon if it approves the food product for consumption, the Post’s Lyndsey Layton notes that the federal agency “won’t let conventional food makers trumpet the fact that their products don’t contain genetically modified ingredients.” The agency warned the dairy industry in 1994 that it could not use “Hormone Free” labeling on milk from cows that are not given engineered hormones, because all milk contains some hormones.

It has sent a flurry of enforcement letters to food makers, including B&G Foods, which was told it could not use the phrase “GMO-free” on its Polaner All Fruit strawberry spread label because GMO refers to genetically modified organisms and strawberries are produce, not organisms.

The U.S. soldiers hatched a plan as simple as it was savage: to randomly target and kill an Afghan civilian, and to get away with it.For weeks, according to Army charging documents, rogue members of a platoon from the 5th Stryker Combat Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, floated the idea.

Then, one day last winter, a solitary Afghan man approached them in the village of La Mohammed Kalay.

The “kill team” activated the plan.One soldier created a ruse that they were under attack, tossing a fragmentary grenade on the ground.

Then others opened fire.According to charging documents, the unprovoked, fatal attack on Jan. 15 was the start of a months-long shooting spree against Afghan civilians that resulted in some of the grisliest allegations against American soldiers since the U.S. invasion in 2001. Members of the platoon have been charged with dismembering and photographing corpses, as well as hoarding a skull and other human bones.

Obama’s obtuseness is evident in the endless vacations, the bowing and scraping before assorted potentates, his leaping into events the Gates imbroglio, the Ground Zero mosque, this latest sideshow act with the backwoods wrestler…uhh, pastor that are none of his business, and his continual rhetorical fumbles. A week doesn’t go by without a new addition to the list, his whining that his critics “talk about me like a dog” being only the latest.

Quick, hand me that newspaper… A president must be a center of calm and poise amid the whirlwind of events. Obama is usually just another piece of flotsam.

“The bottom line is this – if the Koran is burned, our troops will be in greater danger. It’s that simple…”

That remark came from a certain military officer (an officer who will remain unnamed here), during a special press briefing I attended regarding upcoming foreign troop deployments.

The news of a threatened “Koran burning ceremony” to be held in Florida was being widely reported at the time, and a journalist had asked the Officer for comment.

In response to the Officer’s comment, I followed up by asking “if Americans didn’t exercise their Second Amendment rights, would the troops be safer?”

“ With all due respect, I think you’re politicizing the matter, sir,” the Officer said to me, “and I have no further comment…”

It was appropriate that the Officer had “no further comment.” But I wasn’t politicizing anything. I was asking a very serious, sobering, and legitimate question, a question that all Americans should be asking in the face of the Obama Administration’s disposition towards Islamic Radicalism.

For the entire duration of his Presidency, Barack Obama has articulated a vision of “the Muslim Word,” as he calls it, and practitioners of the Muslim faith, that conveniently ignores what is frighteningly obvious to most Americans: that some of the most horrific and gruesome murders and terrorist acts on the planet these days are committed by people who call themselves Muslims, and claim to be following the edicts of the Koran.

President Obama set this pattern of denial in motion back in June of 2009, when he made good on his campaign promise of delivering a speech in the capitol city of a predominantly Muslim nation.

Speaking at Cairo University in that month, the President said, in part, “I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles — principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings…”

Five months after that speech, the United States sustained what previously may have been unthinkable – a terrorist attack at an Army base in Texas, all at the hands of an Army Major who was – yes, you guessed it – a Muslim. Major Nidal Hasan, a Medical Doctor in the U.S. Army, shot and killed 13 other Army soldiers and wounded 30 other people. He claimed that he was operating in allegiance to the Koran, and his Muslim faith.

As President Obama spoke at the Memorial Service for the dead soldiers, he referred to the murders as “craven acts,” and insisted that “no just and loving God looks upon then with favor.” But how are we to take these remarks?

Was President Obama insinuating that the “God” of Islam is not “just” and not “loving?” This proposition is doubtful. More likely, the President’s remarks were intended to suggest that Mr. Hasan wasn’t really behaving as a “real Muslim” would, so, therefore, these “craven acts” were no indictment on Islam.

But since the massacre at Fort Hood, we have sustained two other terrorist attacks on American soil – the “underwear bomber” case on Christmas Day last year, and the effort to blow up Times Square in Manhattan last Spring. Both of these incidents were terrorist attacks (despite Homeland Security Secretary Janet Naplitano’s claim that “The system worked” last December – it did not), attacks that were both fortunately thwarted before they could be carried out to full fruition.

All three of these acts were carried-out by people who called themselves Muslims. And if these terrorists each called themselves a “Muslim,” who am I – and who is Barack Obama – to insist that they are not?

President Obama’s timid stance with “the Muslim World” stands in stark contrast to this undeniable reality: In America, we are a very diverse bunch, but we generally get along with each other pretty well.

We are Christians and Jews and Secularists. We are theologically conservative Protestants and Catholics and Jews, and we are theologically liberal Protestants and Catholics and Jews. We are Atheists and Buddhists and Mormons and Bahai’s and completely irreligious. “Church” and “synagogue” and “temple” happen every weekend in America, as do sporting events and naps and work and play. As Americans we go about these activities according to our own wishes, being disagreeable with each other at times, yes, but still living together and getting along.

But then, there is this one particular group in America and around the world that can’t seem to play by America’s “we all get along” terms. According to our President, our lives are jeopardized if we so much as state the obvious about this group.

Do Marines Surrender? A controversial subject.

Now and then this question comes up, but usually Marines seem to have little in the way of facts for their assumptions, etc. Nor is there a complete summing up of the subject in any one place under one title; but the info is out there, though somewhat piecemeal. George Smith’s book, “Carlson’s Raid,” devotes an entire chapter, for instance, to the surrender note controversy re Carlson’s attempted surrender during the Makin Raid of 17-18 August 1942.

Yes, Marines have surrendered. It’s just one more aspect of the profession of arms.

Most notably, there have been occurances of such for the Marine Corps, in the opening days of World War Two at Guam, the Phillipines, Wake Island, and China. And then there was the little-known, for many years, surrender attempt during the Makin Island Raid.

Later, in Korea, 1950 there was a surrender that occurred at Hell Fire Valley during the Chosin Reservoir operation.

There were also Marine surrenders that occurred even further back through Marine Corps history during the 1700s and civil wartimes. (See Nofi’s Book of Lists.)

Most Marines prefer not to discuss Marine surrenders nor to admit that there has ever been such.

Here is one remark from Evans F. Carlson himself, as found in Gen. Peatross’s book, “Bless ‘Em All,”

“…While discussing the various aspects of the raid,the only critique of the operation there would ever be Carlson suddenly had paused and, almost self critically and apropos of nothing, interjected: No commander ever expects to fail in an operation, but he should have a plan ready, ….”

Is it dishonorable for a Marine to surrender under such conditions?

In addition, there are various aspects of accepted Marine Corps history that people are either entirely ignorant of, and/or prefer to disregard/deny. For instance, the phony red stripe story regarding Chapultapec; Tun Tavern vs. Conestoga Wagon as the birthplace of the Corps, etc. Gen Simmons goes so far as to write that July 11, 1798 is the true birthday of the Corps.

Marine Corps historians, including BGen Edwin Simmons, have brought examples of these things out in their published writings, yet erroneous teachings continue. Why? As I’ve now come to mention often, I, not too long ago received an e-mail from a Marine colonel (retired) suggesting he didn’t give a rat’s ass about facts, tradition was all that counted w/him. People just don’t want to hear it.

Washington Post columnist and FOX News contributor Charles Krauthammer has joined Karl Rove, the consigliere of Establishment Republicans, in a continuing attack on GOP Delaware senatorial candidate Christine O’Donnell. Some longtime fans of Krauthammer are surely startled and saddened by his sustained assault on O’Donnell since she won the primary race against Mike Castle.

As has Rove, Krauthammer is invoking the “Buckley Rule.” It was born in 1967, when William F. Buckley was asked whom he would support, Barry Goldwater or Richard Nixon, in the GOP primary for the 1968 Presidential election. Buckley said he’d vote for the most conservative candidate who was electable. That was Nixon.

In his September 17, 2010 column, Krauthammer essentially declared O’Donnell unelectable — he said she has a one-in-ten chance to be elected — and accused Sen. Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin of being “reckless and irresponsible” by endorsing her. Krauthammer also criticized Sharron Angle, running against Harry Reid in Nevada, as a weak candidate, although he has not yet declared her defeated before the votes are counted.

Meanwhile, Washington Post staff writer Amy Gardner titled her article posted after the O’Donnell victory “O’Donnell’s victory in Del. highlights tension in tea party groups.” She may wish that’s the most significant “tension” at play here, but it’s not.

The fulcrum of the GOP internal debate is obviously between establishment Republicans and the conservative upstarts — upstarts in the eyes of the GOP’s establishment. And what’s at issue is ideological control of the party. The establishment heralds victory as the overriding prize that trumps ideology and principle. It’s what all establishments do. It’s in their DNA. It’s about self-preservation. They can’t help it.

The Bush 42 campaign used the term “compassionate conservative” to counter the Democrat-designed image aimed to paint Republicans as insensitive and uncaring toward all but the rich. It helped get Bush elected, but what it meant was never clear. In retrospect, it’s now obvious that it was never about ideology; it was all about marketing. No surprise there. It’s the nature of campaigns, or at least it was until the hardcore ideologues of the Left took over Congress and the White House. In opposition to the Leftists, conservative principles are not an expendable option. Political expediency works only in battles with other expedient mentalities. Hardcore socialists eat relativist politicians for lunch, as they did in 1933 Germany.

When President George W. Bush said, during the advent of TARP, that, “I’ve abandoned free market principles to save the free market system,” conservative Republicans all across the country looked at each other and said, “What did he just say?” It was a Gestalt moment for some. “Where did his principles go?” we asked. Then some wondered, “Were they ever there in the first place?”

The recent and ongoing rant of Rove against O’Donnell provides context to understand “compassionate conservative” and Bush’s “free market principles” statement. In retrospect, it also frames the domestic political failures of the Bush presidency. According to “Bush’s brain,” expediency trumps ideology. It’s all about winning power.

Now, sadly, Charles Krauthammer has joined Rove in essentially calling the Republican voters of Delaware stupid. The only possible upside of all this is that the comments of both men may throw gasoline on the enthusiasm of O’Donnell supporters and win new ones for her.

We’ve yet to see how well Mike Castles loses. Several recent GOP establishment losers in primary races have not been good losers. Senator Lisa Murkowski last night announced a write-in effort in Alaska after losing the GOP primary to newcomer Joe Miller. Florida Governor Charlie Crist is running as a third-party candidate after losing the primary to Marco Rubio. Will Mike Castle endorse Christine O’Donnell or support the man that Harry Reid called his “pet” Democrat candidate, Chris Coons? Will Castle “pull a Murkowski” and run as a write-in?

Politicians, columnists, and consultants most closely associated with the GOP establishment are feeling disoriented these days as the levers of control over their party move out of their reach and, more and more, into the hands of rank amateurs, or those they perceive to be amateurs. The old guard is feeling…threatened.

In making his case for the Buckley Rule, Krauthammer said this during the “FOX News All Stars” discussion on September 15:

“I think Senator DeMint is wrong when he says ‘I’d rather have a party that believes in something and not a party that doesn’t.’ Well, the party he is in in the Senate right now — the forty Senators believe in something, and it’s stopping the Obama agenda.”

Ironically, the day after Krauthammer spoke, the Senate passed the $30-billion Small Business Jobs Act supported by President Barack Obama by a vote of 61-38. Republican Senators George Voinovich of Ohio and George LeMieux of Florida broke the Republican filibuster and voted for the bill. Up went the deficit. So much for united Republican senators “stopping the Obama agenda.”

There’s an historical precedent for what’s happening. Although some dispute it, tradition says that on October 19, 1781, as eight thousand men under the command of British General Cornwallis at Yorktown marched out to surrender to the Continental Army, the British band played a tune appropriate for the unexpected turn in events that brought defeat to the world’s strongest army. The song was entitled “The World Turned Upside Down.”

What is more widely accepted about that day is that the British soldiers surrendered with composure and dignity. And the Colonists accepted their surrender in the same style. According to an eyewitness account, among the victors, “You could not have heard a whisper or seen the least motion throughout our whole line, but every countenance was erect, and expressed a serene cheerfulness.”

In this battle within the GOP ranks, let’s hope that that general demeanor eventually reigns on both sides. So far, though, we’re not there yet.

Judge Lind stated that any and all orders now originate with the Pentagon and no longer with the Office of the civilian President and Commander-in-Chief.

Lose your temper when you hear a politician make a promise that you know he or she can’t keep?If so, you may be mentally ill, according to the most recent revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM.

In this revision, psychiatrists hope to add dozens of new mental disorders. Unfortunately, many of these so-called illnesses target people who merely think or behave differently from the majority population.

A case in point is “oppositional defiant disorder ODD.” DSM defines ODD as “an ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile and defiant behavior toward authority figures.”

Symptoms include losing one’s temper, annoying people and being “touchy.” Other “disorders” include antisocial behavior, arrogance, cynicism and narcissism. Sounds like many of my readers!

While diagnosis of ODD “victims” focuses on children, there’s no reason why ODD can’t exist in adults. Indeed, ODD can evolve into “conduct disorder” CD, which DSM defines as “wherein the rights of others or social norms are violated.”Uh-oh. So violating “social norms” is now a mental illness as well.Let’s connect the dots, shall we?

There’s a long and sordid history of governments using psychiatry for political repression. In the Soviet Union, thousands of political prisoners were detained in mental hospitals. There they were isolated from friends and family, and many cases, forcibly medicated. Nazi Germany went even further: it murdered over 180,000 psychiatric patients.Laws in most states allow child protective services agencies to forcibly medicate your children.

Indeed, if you fail to administer drugs ordered by a physician or have your children submit to vaccinations, you can be imprisoned.As The Washington Post observed: “If seven-year-old Mozart tried composing his concertos today, he might be diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and medicated into barren normality.”The conversion of personality differences into psychiatric disorders, and the forced medication of children, is a dangerous trend.

It is but a short step to extend these laws to adults who have a pattern of “negativistic, defiant, disobedient and hostile behavior toward authority figures.”

Ed, my husband, has been in jail and solitary confinement for three months in Spokane, Washington because of false allegations that he masterminded a murder-for-hire plot to kill me and my mother. I have never believed that Ed was involved in such a plot!

Ed has defended the politically incorrect for years; people who, were it not for him, never would have had representation.

Those who oppose Ed hate the truth and have threatened to harm Ed, me and our family in the past. Clearly, he is a political prisoner of the USA — and, quite literally, he is fighting for his life.

Here is the bottom line: Without experts to prove that false government tape recordings are only imitations of Ed’s speech patterns using voice cloning technology; and without experts to present the truth about alleged explosives, Ed will be “sent to the gallows” for something he didn’t do.

We have an opportunity to prevent this great injustice. This is not the first time the government has made false criminal allegations against innocent people.

O’Donnell’s victory in Delaware is already being credited to Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Movement, but more credit probably goes to a backlash against a GOP that provided a coronation to a liberal_Republican and used vicious and hate-filled tactics against his opponents, that doubtlessly reminded many Republicans of the tactics Democrats were using against Sarah Palin.I would much rather have had Hayworth knock out McCain, than have O’Donnell knock out Mike Castle.

That would have removed one of the Senate’s biggest liberal Republicans, and would have probably given his obnoxious daughter the boot out of the spotlight too. Hayworth was also a much stronger candidate in the general election than O’Donnell will be. But that isn’t the point. The Republican party can’t just “do what we were doing before”, which is exactly what will happen if the Senate Republicans backing Castle had gotten their way. Whether O’Donnell wins and loses, the Battle of Delaware was another strong warning that business as usual cannot go on.

The Delaware primary was ugly, in-state and on the internet. But had the Delaware GOP not backed Castle at all costs, and had Castle’s defenders online actually made an honest case for him count the number of times that pieces like that mentioned the words Cap and Trade without treating O’Donnell the way the media had treated Palin, as a crazy laughable nut with ethical problem who isn’t worth mentioning except to make sexist jokes about her, the backlash might never have happened.

This was Anti-Insideritis in a big way.But Castle and his GOP backers couldn’t debate on the issues. The Tea Party had them running scared. So instead they conducted vicious personal attacks against O’Donnell, with their only argument being electability. But the Tea Party turnout was not about party loyalty…

I know I’m not the only one who left that White House feeling really let down, but maybe that wasn’t fair to the President.

Maybe our own expectations got so high that he had no choice but to let us down…some advice, huh? Hopefully without sounding disrespectful, I would tell the President to pull his head out of his ass.To man up, grow up, and start to pay attention to what the American people want and need.

WJLA-TV fires veteran anchor Doug McKelway, cites insubordination, misconduct

WJLA-TV Washington DC ABC station has fired veteran anchorman Doug McKelway for a verbal confrontation this summer with the station’s news director that came after McKelway broadcast a sharply worded live report about congressional Democrats and President Obama.

McKelway was placed on indefinite suspension in late July after his run-in with ABC7′s news director and general manager, Bill Lord.

In a letter to McKelway this week, the station said it was terminating his contract immediately, citing insubordination and misconduct. Amid the ongoing BP oil spill in July, McKelway covered a Capitol Hill demonstration by environmental groups protesting the influence of oil-industry contributions to members of Congress. In his piece, McKelway said the sparsely attended event attracted protesters “largely representing far-left environmental groups.”

He went on to say the protest “may be a risky strategy because the one man who has more campaign contributions from BP than anybody else in history is now sitting in the Oval Office, President Barack Obama, who accepted $77,051 in campaign contributions from BP.” After a brief taped segment updating efforts to cap the BP well, McKelway added that the Senate was unlikely to pass “cap-and-trade” legislation this year, because “the Democrats are looking at the potential for huge losses in Congress come the midterm elections.

And the last thing they want to do is propose a huge escalation in your electric bill, your utility bill, before then.” Lord took exception to McKelway’s reporting and asked to meet with him, according to several station sources who were granted anonymity to discuss the sensitive personnel matter.

In April 2008, The Orange County Register published a bombshell of an investigation about a license plate program for California government workers and their families. Drivers of nearly 1 million cars and light trucks—out of a total 22 million vehicles registered statewide—were protected by a “shield” in the state records system between their license plate numbers and their home addresses. There were, the newspaper found, great practical benefits to this secrecy.

“Vehicles with protected license plates can run through dozens of intersections controlled by red light cameras with impunity,” the Register’s Jennifer Muir reported. “Parking citations issued to vehicles with protected plates are often dismissed because the process necessary to pierce the shield is too cumbersome. Some patrol officers let drivers with protected plates off with a warning because the plates signal that drivers are ‘one of their own’ or related to someone who is.”

The plate program started in 1978 with the seemingly unobjectionable purpose of protecting the personal addresses of officials who deal directly with criminals. Police argued that the bad guys could call the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), get addresses for officers, and use the information to harm them or their family members. There was no rash of such incidents, only the possibility that they could take place.

So police and their families were granted confidentiality. Then the program expanded from one set of government workers to another. Eventually parole officers, retired parking enforcers, DMV desk clerks, county supervisors, social workers, and other categories of employees from 1,800 state agencies were given the special protections too. Meanwhile, the original intent of the shield had become obsolete: The DMV long ago abandoned the practice of giving out personal information about any driver. What was left was not a protection but a perk.

Yes, rank has its privileges, and it’s clear that government workers have a rank above the rest of us. Ordinarily, if one out of every 22 California drivers had a license to drive any way he chose, there would be demands for more police power to protect Californians from the potential carnage. But until the newspaper series, law enforcement officials and legislators had remained mum. The reason, of course, is that the scofflaws are law enforcement officials and legislators.

Here is how brazen they’ve become: A few days after the newspaper investigation caused a buzz in Sacramento, lawmakers voted to expand the driver record protections to even more government employees. An Assembly committee, on a bipartisan 13-to-0 vote, agreed to extend the program to veterinarians, firefighters, and code officers. “I don’t want to say no to the firefighters and veterinarians that are doing these things that need to be protected,” Assemblyman Mike Duvall (R-Yorba Linda) explained.

Exempting themselves from traffic laws in the name of a threat that no longer exists is bad enough, but what government workers do to the rest of us on a daily basis makes ticket dodging look like child’s play. Often under veils of illegal secrecy, public-sector unions and their political allies are systematically looting the public treasury with gold-plated pensions, jeopardizing the finances of state and local governments around the country, removing themselves from legal accountability, and doing it all in the name of humble working men and women just looking for their fair share. Government employees have turned themselves into a coddled class that lives better than its private-sector counterpart, and with more impunity. The public’s servants have become our masters.

Madsen, citing a story published on late Wednesday by the Philadelphia Citypaper, revealed that the “non-profit” operates not only out of Philadelphia, but Israel as well.Research conducted by Citypaper journalist Isaiah Thompson shows that the company, the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response ITRR, in fact does not operate under non-profit status, as reported yesterday by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Although the group claims nonprofit status on its website and is listed as a nonprofit corporation by the Pennsylvania Department of State, a search on websites Guidestar.org and IRS.gov yielded no indication that the organization enjoys tax-exempt status.

An email seeking clarification of the group’s nonprofit status was not returned,” writes Thompson.ITRR’s website describes the company as “the preeminent Israeli/American security firm providing training, intelligence and education to clients across the globe.” ITRR categorizes itself as a “Targeted Action Monitoring Center” that does not function as a “clipping service, but a powerful fusion center of battle-tested operatives, analysts, and researchers who have real-life experience fighting both terrorists and criminal entities [...] distinguished among other agencies by its access to a vast network of on-the-ground key-sources in virtually every region of the world.”For a company boasting specialized counter-terror services, there is virtually no information available on it in the mainstream media. Citypaper’s research turned up a scattering of lackluster ITRR reports published in trade publications, primarily dealing with international terrorism. One report, authored by an intern, details the use of Twitter by “religious, anarchists, anti-government, and anti-globalization” activists who are described as extremists.

One of the main authors of the study was Ken Caldeira, the man who told a conference of fellow warmists earlier this year that it would be a good idea to make the emission of CO2 an illegal act. Presumably, that would include the very process of breathing since all humans exhale carbon dioxide. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life….Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:10,12)

We have been looking at Paul’s teaching about assurance,in Romans 5 . Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we have been justified by faith, and brought into a new status of grace, which empowers us to rejoice even in trials, knowing that we have been completely reconciled to God, and abide as objects of the love of God.

Martyn Lloyd Jones, in his excellent study of Romans points out that in verse 10, the text reads “…We shall be saved by his life”, but that it could be better rendered “We shall be saved in His life.”.

The fact that we, the believers are considered to be “in His life”or “In Him”, is one of the greatest assurances we can possibly hold, as to our salvation.

But of Him are you In Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us Wisdom, Righteousness ,sanctification and redemption.(I Cor 1:30)

In God’s economy there is a sense in which there are only two men, Adam and Christ. All of humanity are considered to be either “in Adam” or “In Christ”. We were born “in Adam” , and upon new birth, by the death and resurrection of Jesus, we are Born Again,”In Christ”.

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.(I Corinthians 15:21-22)

There is also a sense in which there was only one sin, the sin in the garden, and everything else, all evil, self will, pride and rebellion, is the outflow of that one sin. Yes all of us have sinned individually, but all sins are an outflow of the one sin.

Wherefore as by One man ,sin entered into the world…First of all, there really was an Adam, in whose loins the human race truly was entirely contained at one time, in the garden of Eden.

By that man sin made its entrance into the world, and consequently death. There was no death before the sin of Adam, but there is universal sin and death now. All of us were “in Adam” when he sinned, and all of us are and were effected by the sin of Adam.

Like it or not, all of us share in Adam’s sin, it has effected us, from birth, we are born in the Image of God, yet born estranged from God, and bear a sinful fallen nature.

The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.(Psalm 58:3)

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.(Psalm 51:5)

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him….And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:(Genesis 5:1-3)

Notice the teaching of Genesis? Adam was made in the Image of God, and bore a son Seth, who was born in the Image of Adam…This is called the doctrine of original sin.

Original sin is highly resented by many, but it is the explanation of what is wrong with us as people. we are fallen. Our problems go deeper than what we have done, it is who we are that alienates us from God. I am not a sinner because I sin, I sin because I was born a sinner.

Adam’s sin has been imputed to all of us, in the economy of God’s salvation, although he makes it clear that we all sin for ourselves,without Adam. However there is a solidarity of the Human race, whereby the One man’s sin has so effected us to literally constitute us as sinners before God. As in Adam all die…

This also explains why salvation cannot possibly be a matter of reform or self-improvement, it is who we are that condemns us, children of Adam, estranged and condemned as sinners with Adam, bearing the family (sinful) traits.

We need far more than forgiveness, we need a new birth, in fact we need a new Creation and a new Adam. That is the gospel of Romans chapter 5, that if the first Adam can representatively plunge us all into condemnation and death, there is a second Adam who has representatively reversed all of that! Hallelujah!

It’s the kind of encounter made in TV heaven: the neurotic intellectual New York Jew and the fire-and-brimstone televangelist arguing about what it all means. Woody Allen interviewed Billy Graham in the 1960s, where the two men discussed all manner of topics touching on religion, morality and the meaning of life.

It was a respectful, intelligent and often funny conversation the likes of which would be impossible in today’s cultural climate, according to the legendary director, who recounted the meeting to the film press as he promoted his latest movie.

Allen’s talk with Graham resonates with him today, informing in part the themes of his latest film, “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.” The movie stars Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins and Gemma Jones in a story about the quest for comfort and certainty, and how faith — even an irrational one — can help us find solace. In New York this week to discuss “Stranger,” Allen reflected on his meeting with Graham.

“Years ago I was on television with Billy Graham and I was taking this position, this bleak outlook position and Billy Graham was saying to me that even if I was right and he was wrong, and there was no meaning to life and it was a bleak experience and there was no god and no afterlife or no hope or anything, he would still have a better life than me, because he believed differently and even if he was 100 percent wrong, our lives would both be completed and I would have had a miserable life wallowing in a bleak outlook and he would have had a wonderful life, confident that there was more.

” In “Stranger” these two opposing positions are staked out by Josh Brolin as Roy, a struggling novelist, and Gemma Jones as Helena, his mother-in-law who has begun taking great comfort in her visits with a psychic. “And so that was one of the main themes of this picture, that someone like Gemma could be deluded — as I felt Billy Graham was deluded — and she would have a better life than someone like Josh, who is more scientific minded and had a more realistic of life, but was going to have a more miserable life.”

While Allen is steadfast in his belief that people like Helena — or Billy Graham — are comforting themselves with lies, he does harbor a certain level of jealousy of the peace it affords them.

“I do feel that it’s important to have some kind of faith in something, but\ impossible for many of us. I personally don’t have any faith in anything. It’s great if you can. The only trouble is, is in Gemma’s position in the movie, she’s happy, deluded, with that character she through her lot in with at the end — they’re both crazy — but happy for the moment, because they;re going to have a rude awakening eventually, because she was not Joan of Arc, the reincarnation thing doesn’t really happen and she’s going to sooner or later, reality sets in in a crushing way. As it does and will with everybody, including Billy Graham. But it’s nice if you can delude yourself for as long as possible.”

If there ever was a time for the United States to abandon its two party system that time is now. It is tempting to say that the way the Republican Party establishment is treating some of the candidates elected by their members is reminiscent of a banana republic but that would be grossly unfair to those countries that grow tropical fruit.

The need for another US political party was evident when Karl Rove appeared on Fox News, the day after the final 2010 primaries. Rove not only spoke about the deficiencies of successful candidate Christine O’Donnell but gave a clear illustration of exactly how the Republican “the Ronald Reagan era is over” power structure thinks.

The worst thing that Rove did was to make MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann sound rational and intelligent. Olbermann described Rove’s speech as a future political ad for O’Donnell’s opponent Chris Coons. And of course he’s right.It’s hard to recall another time in any democratic country when the movers and shakers of a major political party ever talked publicly about how their party was going to lose an election or even a seat but that’s what Rove and other Republicans are doing. Rove and other Republicans are not only attacking O’Donnell and other successful conservative candidates but they are insulting the thousands of Republicans who went out on Tuesday and cast votes for O’Donnell, Carl Paladino and other tea party candidates. How can anyone expect fed up Democrats and independents to vote for a Republican candidate when the party’s power brokers describe them as losers?

In an ironic twist, ‘war on terra’ shill Tom Tancredo and Sheriff Joe Arpaio, two loyal establishment statists, have endorsed a woman for governor of California who can aptly be described as a 9/11 truther, meaning she questions the official government report regarding 9/11/01.

No democrat president has sold the “you have too little because the rich have too much” message better than Obama which lead to angry protesters picketing the homes of corporate executives. Democrats are masters at creating a hated “bad guy” to further their agenda.As a black man, I wish to share a few of my life experiences which crush the paradigm that all whites are committed to keeping blacks down.

When I was 15, I wanted to attend art college on weekends. I wrote a letter to my white senator. When I arrived home from school one day, my mom said our senator stopped by, saw the sign I was painting for our teen dance and decided to give me a scholarship.
