— A regular reader of The Post & Email notified us today that an online newspaper based in Australia published our press release detailing LCDR’s assault and arrest by sheriff’s deputies in Monroe County, TN. The release was sent to approximately 30 domestic and foreign news services.Blogger Zach Jones, who has reported extensively on the Obama eligibility issue, is listed as a writer for the Australian paper. The Australian article ended up headlining a list of Tennessee arrest records appearing within a larger list of U.S. county and state arrests.

Our reports on LCDR Fitzpatrick’s ordeal have been listed extensively at Free Republic. The Gunny G blog was kind enough to post the release in part and solicit information for additional news outlets.Any blogger may repost up to 200 words of any of our articles with a link back to The Post & Email.How about posting the latest Fitzpatrick story on The Blaze?

Coconuts Removed From Trees in Preparation for Barack Obama’s India Trip

India is preparing for Barack Obama’s first visit to the country by removing coconuts from palm trees in Mumbai to protect the US president.Mr Obama will arrive in India on Saturday for the first leg of an Asian tour.

But as well as the usual security measures that come with welcoming a a visiting dignitary, Indian authorities have decided to go one step further, by removing all natural threats to the president as well.All coconuts around the city’s Gandhi museum, one of Mr Obama’s stops in the city, are being taken down.Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his freedom struggle against the British, is among five places the US president is visiting in Mumbai.

“We told the authorities to remove the dry coconuts from trees near the building. Why take a chance?” Mani Bhavan’s executive secretary, Meghshyam Ajgaonkar, told the BBC.

UN, Soros Push Global Tax To Fight Man-Made Climate Change

UNITED NATIONS AFP – A top UN panel on Friday called for increased taxes on carbon emissions and air and sea transport to raise 100 billion dollars a year to combat climate change.The group led by the prime ministers of Norway and Ethiopia also proposed a tax on international financial transactions for a fund to help poorer nations counter the impact of the warming planet.

The radical proposals will be sent to all governments and get a first international airing at the next UN climate conference in Cancun, Mexico starting at the end of the month.The report “contains financing options that are both financially feasible and politically viable,” said UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. “This is not about charity. It is about doing the right thing for those who are suffering most from a crisis that they did least to cause.”

Pennsylvania Homeland Security monitored residents’ tweets

Emails recently released from a Right-To-Know request show that the Pennsylvania Department of Homeland Security monitored the twitter activity of law-abiding citizens.The emails, obtained by the website PARevolution.com, show that a private firm used twitter to collect intelligence on anti-war protests as a part of their contract with the department.Institute of Terrorism Research and Response ITRR monitored the activities of the Berks Peace Community, a group of Quaker-affiliated senior citizens, who routinely meet on the Penn State Bridge in Reading to protest America’s “war habit.”

Collecting intelligence by monitoring tweets is “part of the intelligence effort that is conducted daily… on behalf of the PA Office of Homeland Security,” according to the emails.The former director of Homeland Security, Jim Powers, forwarded an ITRR “alert” email to William Heim, chief of the Reading Police, on July 3 to notify him that a protest was planned on the Penn State Bridge. New Google Tool Makes Websites Twice as Fast…

Google wants to make the Web faster. As well as optimizing its own sites and services to run at blazing speed, the company has been helping to streamline the rest of the Web, too. Now Google has released free software that could make many sites load twice as fast.

The software, called mod_pagespeed, can be installed and configured on Apache Web servers, the most commonly used software for running websites. Once installed, mod_pagespeed determines ways to optimize a site’s performance on the fly. For example, it will compress images more efficiently and change settings so that more of the pages are stored in a user’s browser cache, so that the same data doesn’t have to be loaded repeatedly. The software will be automatically updated, notes Richard Rabbat, product manager for the new project. He says that this means that as Google and others make improvements, people who install it will benefit without having to make any changes.

Obama India trip to cost $200 million/day while real unemployment rate is 17.1%

Barack Obama’s India trip is said to cost $200 million a day while the US’ real unemployment rate is still stuck at 17.1%. According to none other than the Press Trust of India, a top official of the Indian Government confirmed the outlandishly extreme figure that is sure to further confirm that Americans were right for voting out the Democrats on Tuesday as part of a protest vote against Obama’s excesses.

However, the fact that Obama is about to embark on a wildly profligate overseas trip that the White House still hasn’t convincingly refuted confirms that Obama hasn’t learned his lesson from Tuesday’s “shellacking.”

Making matters all the worse is when you juxtapose the super-excessive cost of the India trip with the real problems of Americans stateside, namely the real US unemployment rate, which stands at over 17%. This seems to be another case of Emperor Obama being willfully cold to feeling the real pain of Americans.

Last April, Tim Geithner held a secret, never-before-disclosed meeting with TV host Jon Stewart, according to Bloomberg, citing the Treasury Secretary‘s calendar.The reason, according to a Treasury spokesperson: “Jon Stewart is influential in America, so we took the opportunity for the two to meet and to discuss the economy.”

This basically ends any debate about whether Stewart is a comedian or a newsman. Presumably Geithner thought it important that Stewart be well-informed on aspects of policy, and Stewart felt the same way.
