To save face before his subjects, he chose to carry on without hesitation, acting as though nothing at all was wrong.
President Obama stands before the American people today, wearing nothing more than a teleprompter script.
The question is, does he recognize his own nakedness? Is he attempting to carry on to save face? Or is he completely mesmerized by his own golden words and silver phrases, sadly unable to see that he stands before us uncovered by anything of substance even as the crowd begins to recognize that he has no clothes?

And I mean you MUST respond. (See #10, below.)
Now this can be bruising, because text-based arguments get nastier a whole lot quicker, in my experience, than face-to-face interactions. Most people are a whole lot more polite in person than when protected by the relative anonymity of their computer screen, and this goes double for Leftists. What’s more, it is often the friends of your friends to whom you will find yourself responding, and they may well be people you don’t know and will never meet, which can shove the nasty meter into overdrive. But armed with these tips, you can have a rewarding exchange, pound Leftism, and maintain your dignity:

Marine Corps Birthday Celebration
“The U.S. Marine Corps begins preparations for its “birthday party” every summer. Activities become more feverish as the fall hues arrive. By early November, every Marine is either rehearsing his role in the “party” or pressing, polishing, and spit-shining in order to appear at his or her best for the Birthday Ball. This has not always been the case, however. In fact, Marines have not always celebrated their founding on November the 10th.
Formal commemoration of the birthday of the Marine Corps began on 10 November 1921. That particular date was chosen because on that day the Second Continental Congress resolved in 1775 to raise two battalions of Continental Marines.
Until 1921 the birthday of the Corps had been celebrated on another date. An unidentified newspaper clipping from 1918 refers to the celebration of the 120th birthday of the Marine Corps on 11 July “as usual with no fuss.” It is doubtful that there was any real celebration at all. Further inspection of documents and publications prior to 1921 shows no evidence of ceremonies, pageants, or parties. The July date was commemorated between 1798 and 1921 as the birthday of the Corps. During the Revolution, Marines had fought on land and sea, but at the close of the Revolution the Marine Corps and the Navy were all but disbanded. On 11 July 1798, President John Adams approved a bill that recreated the Corps, thereby providing the rationale for this day being commemorated as the birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps.
On 21 October 1921, Major Edwin McClellan, Officer-in-Charge, Historical Section, Headquarters Marine Corps, sent a memorandum to Major General Commandant John A. Lejeune, suggesting that the original birthday on 10 November 1775 be declared a Marine Corps holiday to be celebrated throughout the Corps. McClellan further suggested that a dinner be held in Washington to commemorate the event. Guests would include prominent men from the Marine Corps, Army, and Navy, and descendants of the Revolution.
Accordingly, on 1 November 1921, General Lejeune issued Marine Corps Order No. 47, Series 1921. The order summarized the history, mission, and tradition of the Corps, and directed that it be read to every command on 10 November each subsequent year in honor of the birthday of the Marine Corps. This order has been duly carried out.
Some commands expanded the celebration during the next few years. In 1923 at Fort Mifflin, Pennsylvania, the celebration of the Marine Corps’ 148th birthday took the form of a dance in the barracks that evening. Marines at the Navy Yard, Norfolk, Virginia, staged a sham battle on the parade ground in commemoration of the birthday. The battle lasted about twenty minutes, and was witnessed by Portsmouth and Norfolk citizens. At Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the birthday was celebrated on the 12th, since a special liberty to Santiago had been arranged on the 10th. The morning activities included field and water sports, and a shooting match. In the afternoon the Marines won a baseball game, 9-8, over a Cuban team. In the evening, members of the command put on a variety show followed by four boxing bouts.
The first so-called “Birthday Ball,” such as suggested by Major McClellan, was probably held in 1925 in Philadelphia. No records have been located of one prior to 1925. Guests included the Secretaries of War and Navy, Major General Commandant Lejeune, famous statesmen, soldiers, and sailors. The principle event was the unveiling of a tablet on the site of Tun Tavern. The tablet was a gift from the Thomas Roberts Reath Post, American Legion, whose membership was composed exclusively of Marines. The celebration was held in conjunction with the annual convention of the Marine Corps League. A parade included Marines, Regular Army, and Navy detachments, National Guard, and other military organizations. The evening banquet was held at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel and a ball followed at the Bellevue-Stratford.
It is not possible to determine precisely when the first cake ceremony was held, but the first on record was held at Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C., in 1937. Major General Commandant Thomas Holcomb presided at an open house for Marine Corps officers. Ceremonies included the cutting of a huge cake designed after the famous Tun Tavern in Philadelphia.
From 1937, observances of the Marine Corps Birthday appeared to develop spontaneously throughout the Corps as if they had a life of their own. The celebrations were publicized through every media. Newsreels, motion pictures, and displays were prepared to summarize the history of the Corps. In 1943, standard blank Marine Corps scrap books were forwarded to all districts to be filled with 168th anniversary clippings, scripts, pictures, programs, and other memorabilia, and returned to Headquarters. Unfortunately none of these scrapbooks remain in official files.
In 1951, a formal Birthday Ball Pageant was held at Headquarters Marine Corps. Similar to the pageant today, the script described the Marines’ period uniforms and the cake ceremony. Although this is the first substantive record of a pageant, Leatherneck of 10 November 1925 pictures Marines at a pageant in Salt Lake City, Utah, which had taken place “several years ago.”
On 28 October 1952, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Lemuel C. Shepherd, Jr., directed that the celebration of the Marine Corps Birthday be formalized throughout the Corps, and provided an outline for the cake ceremony, as well as other formal observances. This outline was included in the Marine Corps Drill Manual, approved 26 January 1956.
Traditionally, the first piece of Birthday cake is presented to the oldest Marine present and the second piece to the youngest Marine present. When and where this tradition began remains unknown. Most commands sponsor a Birthday Ball of some sort, complete with pageant and cake ceremony as prescribed in the Marine Corps Manual.
Like the Corps itself, the Birthday Ball developed from simple origins to become the polished, professional function that all Marines commemorate on 10 November around the world.“

Most observers attributed the phenomenal success of Reid’s last-ditch comeback to the Nevada Democratic Party‘s highly polished get-out-the-vote “ground game.” But an internal e-mail from a Reid campaign operative to a Harrah’s executive strongly suggests the Reid ground game depended at least in part on breaking the law.As former Federal Election Commissioner Hans A. von Spakovsky explained Friday in The Examiner, federal law makes it illegal for officials with a Senate campaign to coordinate with corporate or union officials: “Both the Reid campaign and Harrah’s may have violated federal campaign finance law that prohibits in-kind corporate and union contributions to, and coordination with, political campaigns.
Corporations and unions may spend money to run ads in support of or opposing a candidate, but they are not allowed to make direct or in-kind contributions to federal candidates.
Federal criminal law also prohibits intimidation and coercion of a person exercising his or her right to vote or not to vote.”

As of late, I have been impressed with the number of electoral irregularities that have been reported during the past several election cycles. By electoral irregularities, I mean all these lost-and-found ballot boxes and bags, miscalibrated voting machines, judicial interventions, etc.
Please understand, I am no mathematician or statistician, but I would think the very nature of any series of errors leading to those irregularities would be random, i.e. those errors would favor democrats and republicans equally.
In fact, a decent dictionary definition of the word random could be a process of selection in which each item of a set has an equal probability of being chosen. So, my argument would be it is mathematically impossible, over the long run, for either democrats or republicans to have the majority of electoral irregularities cause benefit to their candidate. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case…

Harry Reid’s victory over Sharron Angle this past Tuesday may have had a great deal to do with the senator’s campaign breaking not only federal campaign law, but, just to make things worse, criminal law also.
According to the Justice Department itself, as recently as this past Friday, it is currently looking over a complaint that Angle’s lawyer has filed, demanding that Reid be investigated for what appears to be coordination between his campaign and a corporation, Harrah’s casino in Las Vegas.
The complaint is based on damning e-mails that were exchanged between executives at Harrah’s casino and a staffer working for the Reid campaign. If the allegations are proven true, it may confirm what some people suspected after Reid’s surprise, come-from-behind win he was consistently down in the polls before last Tuesday’s voting. Namely, that Reid did a lot more than just get all his supporters to the polls in a magical, last-effort push.

Would like to toss out an interesting scenario that could possibly take place. Now that Pelosi will be constitutionally ineligible to become POTUS should both Obama and Biden happen to be disqualified for unknown reasons, come January after Sen. John Boehner is sworn in as Speaker of the House, HE will be second in line for the job.
In my opinion, if the Republicans who will be in charge of committees to push the question of Obama’s qualification to be POTUS succeed in exposing him as in violation of Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution and SCOTUS rules he is unqualified, wouldn’t that move Boehner one step closer to the presidency?Yes, I know what you are thinking. Biden would step in immediately after Zero is removed no impeachment necessary. But Biden would also be removed since he would be in my opinion an accessory to the crime.Once Boehner is sworn in, he will have the ability to not only clean house by removing all of Zero’s commie czars but it would be like January 2013 instead of 2011 come this January.

It ought to be apparent that the vote in the recent election was a stinging repudiation of the policies and direction of the socialist Democrats. People voted Republican not because they were in love with the Republicans, but they had grown to loathe the arrogant, sneering, patronizing leftism of the Democrats. They were tired of being talked down to by socialists who claimed they were all racists if they hadn’t voted for Obama.
They were sick and tired of being portrayed as extremists if they dared to practice their First Amendment rights by carrying a sign at a rally, when anyone with a brain knows the real extremists have ensconced themselves in Congress and the White House.

My conservative and Republican acquaintances believe that the “liberal media” is destroying America. When I ask them to identify the liberal media, the usual reply is, “all of it!” I ask them about Fox “News,” CNN, and point out that the TV networks are no longer independent but parts of large corporate conglomerates and that allof the “liberal” news anchors have been fired or died off.At that point my acquaintances fall back on the New York Times and the Washington Post.I remind them that the invasion of Iraq would not have been possible without the New York Times leading the way.
Judith Miller filled that newspaper with the neoconservative/Bush regime propaganda that was orchestrated to make the public accept US aggression toward Iraq. The Times later sort of apologized and Miller departed the paper.That left the Washington Post, apparently long a CIA asset, as the “liberal media” that is destroying America, until on October 31 the paper’s long-time pundit, David Broder, wrote that Obama should spend the next two years disarming the Republicans and renewing the economy by orchestrating a showdown with Iran.
Going to war with Iran, “the greatest threat to the world,” would simultaneously unite Republicans with Obama and restore the economy. By following Broder’s prescription, Obama “will have made the world safer and may be regarded as one of the most successful presidents in history.”

It’s been buried; nothing has been done, and it’s just being ignored. Two other gentlemen, Mr. Chris Hooper and Mr. Jeff Shewsbury, went to the day room two weeks ago and they were brought some law books to use to try to prepare for their own defense.
They asked for copies from the books, and they were told two weeks ago that the copies were made and that they would be delivered to them. But it’s been more than two weeks. These documents go to their court cases, and the men can’t get them. So that’s going on.
However, the President also singled out the American Constitution: “… the Constitution allows for many things, but what it does not allow is the most revealing. The so-called Founders did not allow for economic freedom. While political freedom is supposedly a cornerstone of the document, the distribution of wealth is not even mentioned. While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy.”It is yet unknown if more of this thesis will be released. It was also noted that the President received an A- for the paper, which later led to his graduation.

Google wants to make the Web faster. As well as optimizing its own sites and services to run at blazing speed, the company has been helping to streamline the rest of the Web, too. Now Google has released free software that could make many sites load twice as fast.
Barack Obama’s India trip is said to cost $200 million a day while the US’ real unemployment rate is still stuck at 17.1%. According to none other than the Press Trust of India, a top official of the Indian Government confirmed the outlandishly extreme figure that is sure to further confirm that Americans were right for voting out the Democrats on Tuesday as part of a protest vote against Obama’s excesses.
However, the fact that Obama is about to embark on a wildly profligate overseas trip that the White House still hasn’t convincingly refuted confirms that Obama hasn’t learned his lesson from Tuesday’s “shellacking.”
Making matters all the worse is when you juxtapose the super-excessive cost of the India trip with the real problems of Americans stateside, namely the real US unemployment rate, which stands at over 17%. This seems to be another case of Emperor Obama being willfully cold to feeling the real pain of Americans.

Last April, Tim Geithner held a secret, never-before-disclosed meeting with TV host Jon Stewart, according to Bloomberg, citing the Treasury Secretary‘s calendar.The reason, according to a Treasury spokesperson: “Jon Stewart is influential in America, so we took the opportunity for the two to meet and to discuss the economy.”
This basically ends any debate about whether Stewart is a comedian or a newsman. Presumably Geithner thought it important that Stewart be well-informed on aspects of policy, and Stewart felt the same way.

HAVING been taught by nuns in grade school and later going through military boot camp, I have always disliked uniformed authorities shouting at me. So I was unhappy last week when some security screeners at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago started yelling. “Opt out! We got an opt out!” one bellowed about me in a tone that people in my desert neighborhood in Tucson usually reserve for declaring, “Rattlesnake!” Other screeners took up the “Opt out!” shout. I was marched from the metal detector lane to one of those nearby whole-body imagers, ordered to take everything out of my pockets, remove my belt and hold my possessions up high. Then I was required to stand still while I received a rough pat-down by a man whose résumé, I suspected, included experience at a state prison.
In a White House press conference Wednesday, President Barack Obama did not rule out using regulations issued by the Environmental Protection Agency to cap carbon emissions in the United States without an act of Congress.Meanwhile, on October 25, the EPA announced new regulations to limit “greenhouse gas” emissions by heavy-duty trucks and buses.In the last Congress, the House of Representatives passed a “cap-and-trade” bill that would have forced carbon emissions caps on U.S. industry in the interest of protecting the planet against warming.
However, the Senate never voted on the bill.During his Tuesday press conference, Obama initially conceded that Republicans had run for Congress in this election expressly opposing cap-and-trade and that therefore it would be unlikely that cap-and-trade global warming legislation could pass in the upcoming Congress.“I think there are a lot of Republicans that ran against the energy bill that passed in the House last year,” said Obama. “And so it’s doubtful that you could get the votes to pass that through the House this year or next year or the year after.”Later in the press conference, when Obama was asked if he was “open” to using EPA regulations to limit greenhouse gas emissions in the same way as cap-and-trade legislation.
While indicating he would like to work out a compromise with Republicans in Congress, Obama did not rule out using EPA regulation to limit carbon emissions and said the EPA was operating under a “court order” to treat greenhouse gasses as pollutants.
The most captivating political story of the present moment is not the Republican resurgence but rather the ongoing diminution of President Barack Obama. It is a story that started almost as soon as he took office, took hold with the passage of the stimulus, played itself out during the health-care debate and its aftermath, and reached its inevitable climax on Tuesday night.
It is the story not of policy but rather of personality, and what makes it so captivating is its element of mystery. President Obama, after all, was elected by virtue of his personality, which provided not only contrast but novelty, and was grounded in his near-perfect pitch when addressing audiences large and small. Sure, he was cool and cerebral, but he was also confident, almost cocky, because he had the power to summon inspiring rhetoric on command, which meant that he had the power to summon us on command. Though many Americans didn’t know very much about him, there was one thing that was never in doubt when we saw and heard Obama on the stump: his ownership of his gift. By the way he carried himself, we could tell that he had always had it, and because he always had it, we could be sure that he always would have it. How could we resist a man who simply by opening his mouth could move mountains — and who had ascended all the way to the presidency by staking his political life on his own eloquence?
