After spending a lifetime in politics John C. Calhoun (U.S. Senator, Vice President of the United States, Secretary of War) wrote his brilliant treatise, A Disquisition on Government, which was published posthumously shortly after his death in 1850. In it Calhoun warned that it is an error to believe that a written constitution alone is “sufficient, of itself, without the aid of any organism except such as is necessary to separate its several departments, and render them independent of each other to counteract the tendency of the numerical majority to oppression and abuse of power” (p. 26). The separation of powers is fine as far as it goes, in other words, but it would never be a sufficient defense against governmental tyranny, said Calhoun.

Moreover, it is a “great mistake,” Calhoun wrote, to suppose that “the mere insertion of provisions to restrict and limit the powers of the government, without investing those for whose protection they are inserted, with the means of enforcing their observance, will be sufficient to prevent the major and dominant party from abusing its powers” (emphasis added). The party “in possession of the government” will always be opposed to any and all restrictions on its powers. They “will have no need of these restrictions” and “would come, in time, to regard these limitations as unnecessary and improper restraints and endeavor to elude them . . .”

The “part in favor of the restrictions” (i.e., strict constructionists) would inevitably be overpowered. It is sheer folly, Calhoun argued, to suppose that “the party in possession of the ballot box and the physical force of the country, could be successfully resisted by an appeal to reason, truth, justice, or the obligations imposed by the constitution” (emphasis added). He predicted that “the restrictions [of government power in the Constitution] would ultimately be annulled, and the government be converted into one of unlimited powers.” He was right, of course.

This is a classic statement of the Jeffersonian states’ rights position. The people of the free, independent and sovereign states must be empowered with the rights of nullification and secession, and a concurrent majority with veto power over unconstitutional federal laws, if their constitutional liberties are to have any chance of protection, Calhoun believed. The federal government itself can never, ever be trusted to limit its own powers.

PARIS – Friday in Paris. A hidden camera shows streets blocked by huge crowds of Muslim worshippers and enforced by a private security force.

This is all illegal in France: the public worship, the blocked streets, and the private security. But the police have been ordered not to intervene.

It shows that even though some in the French government want to get tough with Muslims and ban the burqa, other parts of the French government continue to give Islam a privileged status.

An ordinary French citizen who has been watching the Islamization of Paris decided that the world needed to see what was happening to his city. He used a hidden camera to start posting videos on YouTube. His life has been threatened and so he uses the alias of “Maxime Lepante. “

When the 112th U.S. Congress is officially sworn in on Jan. 5, two black Republicans will be among the new majority in the House of Representatives. Do you think the G.O.P. has made progress in attracting African-Americans to the party?

One thing that you guys aren’t talking about is the fact that there were 42 African-Americans that ran on the Republican ticket in this election cycle; 14 made it to the general election, and 2 of us were elected to the House.

I think that there is a changing wind. There are black conservatives out there, and their voices need to be heard.

Even President Bush has admitted in a press conference that there were never any WMDs in Iraq. But the war has been very profitable for some, as war always is, as it has drained American taxpayers of hundreds of billions of dollars. It has also ballooned the warfare state, the military-industrial complex, and the conservative anti-civil liberties lobby. (On the day of this writing the talking heads on the FOX War Channel were all but dancing in the streets of Manhattan in celebration of a bill passed by the U.S. Senate the previous evening that would allow for the suspension of habeas corpus. Can mass burn-the-Constitution rallies, perhaps organized by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, be far behind?) But the state’s use of this illegitimate war to aggrandize itself goes much, much farther than this. Those Americans who are still concerned about the state’s ability to plunder us into poverty and strip us of personal liberties are extremely fortunate that Professor James Bennett of George Mason University has stepped up to explain exactly how this is happening with his new book, Homeland Security Scams (Transaction Publishers, 2006). Read this book and the crassness, dishonesty, and plain chutzpah of the state in using the “war on terror” as an excuse to pick your pocket will boggle your mind. The average reader will also be shocked at the remarkable blueprint for fascism that has been mapped out for us by our rulers in the post-9/11 world. Indeed, the very name “Homeland Security” has an obvious echo of “fatherland,” as Professor Bennett ominously points out. “Americans have never used the world ‘homeland’ to describe their country” anywhere and at any time. The very word is un-American and reeks of fascism. The major theme of Homeland Security Scams is stated on page 1: “[H]omeland security is developing into the largest boondoggle in the history of the U.S. government. Fed by the . . . war on terror, homeland security is being used as an excuse . . . for a vast expansion of government power and spending.” And the spending usually has nothing at all to do with “defense” or “security.” “Homeland security is not making us safer: just poorer, less free, and more dependent on the federal government,” Professor Bennett charges. In the following 217 pages he provides chapter and verse to prove his point. The “scam” is that the word “homeland security” is routinely invoked to “justify” thousands of pork barrel spending programs that have nothing to do with safety or security. They are simply pork. So much money is being drained from the taxpayers’ pockets under this ruse that governments cannot spend it fast enough. “North Carolina spent only 30 percent . . . of the federal homeland security monies it had received in 2004.” “Under President Bush, the Republicans have become the party of Big Government.” Professor Bennett has always been a libertarian-minded conservative, and is disgusted by the descent of formerly like-minded institutions, such as the Heritage Foundation, into the fascistic abyss of Big Government neo-conservatism. He writes that the Heritage Foundation was “largely co-opted by the Reagan administration” in the 1980s and has been “ever since ensconced firmly in the GOP’s right pocket.” It has “abandoned any . . . interest in restricting leviathan . . . ” (p. 200). The Heritage Foundation’s position papers in “the age of Bush II” sound the old, leftist themes of “Spend, spend, spend. Regulate, regulate, regulate.” (This would also seem to have dire implications for the Mont Pelerin Society, of which Heritage Foundation president Ed Fulner is the longtime treasurer and board member.) The primary beneficiaries of all this are “politicians, lobbyists, and a flourishing homeland security industry.” This would also include, in my opinion, all of the neocon “think tanks,” magazines, and “scholars” who are paid to provide the intellectual cover for the scam. The “one constant” that keeps the racket going is fear. As long as our rulers can continue to frighten the public with promises of “terror” their motives and actions will not be questioned by the vast majority of the public.

A new report prepared by the Moscow Patriarchate says that the announcement today by John Huntsman Jr., who is the current United States Ambassador to China, that he is considering running for the Republican Presidential nomination for the 2012 election shows the strong likelihood that the ‘White Horse Prophecy’ is coming true for America.

The “White Horse Prophecy” refers to a prediction made by Joseph Smith Jr. (1808-1844) [pictured top left] who was the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) [aka as the Mormon religion], and was reported to have said that a time would come when the US Constitution would be hanging by a thread and a church elder from Zion [Mormon Church] will ride in on a metaphorical white horse and save it.

The Encyclopedia of Mormonism further states about the White Horse Prophecy:

“LDS attachment to the Constitution has been further encouraged by an important oral tradition deriving from a statement attributed to Joseph Smith, according to which the Constitution would “hang by a thread” and be rescued, if at all, only with the help of the Saints.

Church President John Taylor seemed to go further when he prophesied, “When the people shall have torn to shreds the Constitution of the United States the Elders of Israel will be found holding it up to the nations of the earth and proclaiming liberty and equal rights to all men”.

To defend the principles of the Constitution under circumstances where the “iniquity,” or moral decay, of the people has torn it to shreds might well require wisdom at least equal to that of the men raised up to found it. In particular, it would require great insight into the relationship between freedom and virtue in a political embodiment of moral agency.”

During the late 1820s Joseph Smith Jr. became the leader of a small group of followers who believed that an angel had given him a book of golden plates containing a religious history of ancient American peoples.

Smith said he had translated the writing on the plates from an unknown language into English; and in 1830, he published the translation as “The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ” and organized what he said was a restoration of the early Christian church.

Since its beginnings in the 1830s the Mormon Church has grown to over 13 million members, with over 51,000 missionaries, and whose religious materials are printed in 166 different languages.

Several lawsuits have been brought to prove that President Barack Obama is not qualified to be President.  The attorneys who have brought these lawsuits have managed only to show how poorly they understand presidential history and how the government actually works.

George Washington was not qualified to fill the Office of President when he was elected on February 4, 1789, because he had not been a resident within the United States for fourteen Years.   Washington’s secret solution to the problem was to take the Office of President of the United States because that Office had no requirements or term of office.

Every President Elect has followed the precedent set by George Washington and yet no one has figured out the impact on the government.  Nothing will prevent President Elect Barack Obama from taking the oath of Office of President of the United States at noon on January 20, 2009.

Not since the Civil War has America been in such grave peril.  Then it was on the precipice of splitting into two opposing nations with vastly differing positions on slavery and state’s rights.  Today, it faces an even greater threat.  It has been besieged, not by cannon fire and muskets between brother and brother, but by a failed ideology that has swept the planet and is on the verge of collapsing almost every world economy.

America is not being conquered by another more powerful nation by the force of arms, America is disintegrating from within and the disintegration is being perpetrated by an elite group of traitors that are intent on destroying the most prosperous nation on Earth, by driving it into national bankruptcy.  These traitors have been successful in dividing Americans between those that are self-reliant, responsible, productive and generous and those who have become hopelessly dependent on government.  We fight amongst each other in a war of classes and are being diverted from the diabolical plans of the real enemy …… the move by this elite group of traitors towards a socialist utopia and an Absolute Democrat Monarchy, funded by the sweat, labor and tears of those who toil at honest, productive work.

You need not take our word for it, you only need to look around you and see the divisions widen between all Americans over issues and problems created by government, but never solved by government.  The truth is, we are being played for suckers and we are biting at the bait.  If we are united, we survive with honor and dignity.  If we are divided, we fall.

Has America ever been in greater peril?  The answer is a resounding NO!  Before America finds itself in the graveyard containing the bleached bones of failed nations, all red-blooded Americans had better rise up and smell the roses before the lid closes on our national casket forever.  What America needs to make its blood run hot wth passion and resolve and spring into action is a symbol of unity, a symbol that fans the fire of patriotism in the hearts of men and women across this great land.  America needs a symbol that all Americans can rally around, a symbol that instills the call of duty on each of our souls, a duty to save the last bastion of freedom on this Earth, before there is no one left that even remembers what freedom is all about, what price was paid to claim it and from whence it came.

Since the international symbol of distress is the nation’s flag flying upside down and since America is in distress like never before, we call on all Americans to turn the American flag that they are flying upside down, as a symbol of national distress.  Those who don’t know the symbol will ask why and we will tell them, so that they too can join with those of us who, to the last man say, “we will not go quietly into the night!” And to all those who try to steal our liberty, dilute our sovereignty, blur our borders and sell America to the highest bidder, we say: “‘Tis an evil thing that you do and so yee shall sow, so shall yee reap.”

For reasons clear to no one just yet, Hawaii’s new Democrat governor, Neil Abercrombie, has gone public with his desire to silence the so-called “birthers” with proof of Barack Obama’s Hawaiian birth.

“Maybe I’m the only one in the country,” Abercrombie told the Los Angeles Times just before Christmas, “that could look you right in the eye right now and tell you, ‘I was here when that baby was born.’”

A few days later, Abercrombie clarified to Mark Niesse of the Associated Press that he didn’t exactly see Obama’s parents with their newborn son at the hospital, but that he “remembers seeing Obama as a child with his parents at social events.”

Although the major media have questioned why Abercrombie would raise an issue that, according to the Los Angeles Times, “most people see as resolved,” they take Abercrombie at his word as to what he knows about the young Obama family.

They shouldn’t. Abercrombie’s boasts about his relationship with the president’s presumed parents, Barack Obama, Sr. and Ann Dunham, have got to unnerve the president and his close advisors. They know something the media perversely choose not to know: Abercrombie is remembering a past that never happened.

A member of the House’s progressive caucus before his election as governor, Abercrombie has been talking excitedly about the relationship for years, playing John the Baptist to Obama’s Jesus.
