The Egyptian Uprising: Could it Happen Here?| The Post & Email

…In response to the violence in Egypt and Mubarak’s speech on Saturday, Obama reportedly said, “The United States will continue to stand up for the rights of the Egyptian people and work with their government in pursuit of a future that is more just, more free and more hopeful.” However, Obama has been accused of supporting socialism and policies similar to those of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela despite Chavez’s insults, and Obama’s chiding of Mubarak in response to the unrest in Egypt was couched in financial terms.The Daily Telegraph has reported that the Obama regime has provided a measure of support for the current uprising in Egypt. The U.S. allegedly assisted a dissident to attend a conference in 2008 in New York sponsored by the United Nations during which a plan had been formulated to topple the Mubarak regime. The article was titled, “As Egypt Burns, Obama and News Media Party Hearty Saturday Night.” Media Matters calls criticism of Obama’s partying while Egypt burns as a “particularly hollow smear.”Media Matters was upset that Jim Hoft picked up the Free Republic article for a piece at Gateway Pundit and that Hoft’s piece was subsequently picked up by Fox Nation. In fact, it’s the lead, banner story at Fox Nation tonight with over 1200 comments. The Fox Nation article updated its headline to read “As Egypt Burns…Obama Parties”, based on Hoft’s headline, “As Egypt Burns…Obama Parties, Watches B-ball” that was based on the Free Republic headline.Making things worse for Media Matters was that the Drudge Report picked up a piece from the site White House Dossier published Sunday afternoon an hour after the FR article about Obama’s night out partying. That article was headlined “While Cairo Burns, Obama Parties.”The Free Republic article noted that Greta Van Sustern appeared to be the only reporter who reported about the presidential party. Further research showed Politico had a short article published Saturday night that nixed mentioning that reporters were partying with Obama. Citing the addition of fluoride to everything from toothpaste to health supplements, they finally admitted that we have too much of the substance in our diets. To overcome that, HHS suggests that the chemical be added to water at a rate of 0.7 milligrams per liter of water, which is at the absolute minimum of their current standard of 0.7 to 1.2 mg.It’s too bad that it took visual defects – we are, after all, a nation obsessed with appearance – to twist the federal government’s arm into cutting fluoride levels. Their sudden change of mind ignores the ample, conclusive evidence showing that most of the damage wreaked by the chemical isn’t of a dental nature, but is instead found deep within the body, in our bones and organs.

Washington CNN — Several top Egyptian military officials cut short their visit to the Pentagon on Friday, returning to where their rank-and-file were rolling through the streets to stem massive protests, a top U.S. military official said.Marine Gen. James Cartwright, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that the talks involving Egyptian military officials have been aborted because of the developments. The discussions had been scheduled to run through next Wednesday, February 2.Cartwright said that — as a matter of protocol — the U.S. and its allies “go through all sorts of contingencies” in case of major international developments. CorsiPosted on Saturday, January 29, 2011 11:57:37 PM by RobinMastersDespite national press reports to the contrary, the Hawaii state legislature has no intention of releasing Barack Obama’s long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate – not even for $100.By introducing HB1116 into the Hawaii legislature last week, five Democrats are giving the impression they are willing to make Obama’s long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate available to the public for a fee.Instead, the plan is for the state of Hawaii to create a completely new document that will be carefully designed to carry the seal of the state of Hawaii without ever having to certify details of parentage and birthplace.Hawaii’s Revised Statute HRS338 restricts making public birth certificate and other vital records only to those who have a “direct and tangible interest,” namely the person applying for the certified birth certificate copy, a member of the immediate family, or others with a legal interest such as an adoptive parent or a legal guardian.Now, the language of HB1116 attempts to skirt these restrictions by modifying Hawaii law such that for a fee of $100, the Hawaii Department of Health will release “a copy of a birth record” for those HB1116 defines as “persons of prominence.”
