The controversial Mr. Earp, in spite of his secure position in the legends of the West as a gallant lawman, was a gambler, a racketeer, and a part-time road agent who made a profit by dealing on both sides of the law. Top US Federal Judge Assassinated After Threat To Obama Agenda

A Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that the top US Federal Judge for the State of Arizona was assassinated barely 72-hours after he made a critical ruling against the Obama administrations plan to begin the confiscation of their citizen’s private retirement and banking accounts in order to stave off their nations imminent economic collapse, and after having the US Marshals protecting him removed.

According to this SVR report, Federal Judge John McCarthy Roll was the Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Arizona who this past Friday issued what is called a “preliminary ruling” in a case titled “United States of America v. $333,520.00 in United States Currency et al” [Case Number: 4:2010cv00703 Filed: November 30, 2010] wherein he stated he was preparing to rule against Obama’s power to seize American citizens money without clear and convincing evidence of a crime being committed.

The case being ruled on by Judge Roll, this report continues, was about bulk cash smuggling into or out of the United States that the Obama administration claimed was their right to seize under what are called Presidential Executive Orders, instead of using existing laws. The Obama administration used as support for their claim before Judge Roll, the SVR says, the seizing of all American citizens’ gold, in 1933, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s signing of Executive Order 6102, which was ruled at the time to be constitutional.

Should the Obama administration win their argument to seize their citizen’s money by Executive Order without having to abide by the law was made more chilling this past week when reports emerged from the US stating that President Obama and his regime allies were, indeed, preparing to rule America by decree since their loss this past November of their control over the US House of Representatives, and in the words of the Washington Posts columnist Charles Krauthammer: “For an Obama bureaucrat … the will of the Congress is a mere speed bump”.

Since taking office in early 2009, Obama has completely overturned the once free United States through his use of Executive Orders that asserts his power to put anyone he wants in prison without charges or trial forever and his right to assassinate any American citizen he deems a threat.

The most chilling of these powers Obama has asserted for himself, however, are contained in Executive Order 13528 he signed nearly a year ago (January 10, 2010) creating a Council of Governors he has hand-picked to rule over the United States in place of its elected representatives when their next “disaster” strikes and orders them to begin “synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States; and other matters of mutual interest pertaining to National Guard, homeland defense, and civil support activities”.

Going from the chilling to the outright scary, about whatever “disaster” the American regime is preparing their people for, is Obama’s Homeland Security Department, through their Ready.Gov organization, beginning to air this past week a public service television commercial titled “World Upside Down” that shows a typical family sitting in their home suddenly losing all of its gravity and warning all who watch it to begin preparing.

Note: In our previous reports US Descends Into Total Police State As 2012 ‘Solar Chaos’ Fears Grow, Pole Shift Blamed For Russian Air Disaster, Closure Of US Airport and Poisonous Space Clouds Slamming Into Earth Cause Mass Bird And Fish Deaths we had detailed some of fears the US government are most worried about, but which they still will not be truthful to their citizens about.

Interesting to note about the assassination of Judge Roll is that it is being blamed on a “lone gunman” said to be mentally unstable (aren’t they all) said directed at a US Congresswoman named Gabrielle Giffords, who survived this mass killing, and that killed at least 5 other innocent people, including a 9-year-old girl named Christina Taylor Green “curiously” born on September 11, 2001 (9/11).

Luke 17, The Lord’s Other End Times Prophecy

So in Luke 17:20-37 the Lord explained the two phases of the Kingdom, the invisible phase (the Church) and the visible one (the Millennial Kingdom). He said he was going away and then coming back, and that His 2nd Coming will be physical just like His first one. He also said there will be a believing remnant preserved through the End Times judgments that precede His return (Israel), another group of believers who will be removed to a place of safety before the judgments begin (the Church), and a group of Tribulation survivors. Upon His return, some of the Tribulation survivors will be received into the Kingdom as a reward for believing, while the rest will be sent to the place prepared for the devil and his angels for refusing to believe. It’s a remarkable overview of the Great Tribulation and 2nd Coming. You can almost hear the footsteps of the Messiah. 01-15-11

Another Court Historian’s False Tariff History

by Thomas J. DiLorenzo
by Thomas J. DiLorenzo
Recently by Thomas DiLorenzo: The Latest New York Times Nonsense About Lincoln

The only thing worse than a historian who calls himself a “Lincoln scholar” is a sociologist who does the same. This truth was on display recently in a January 9 Washington Post article entitled “Five Myths about Why the South Seceded” by one James W. Loewen.

In discussing the role of federal tariff policy in precipitating the War to Prevent Southern Independence Loewen is either grossly ignorant, or he is dishonest. He begins by referring to the 1828 Tariff of Abominations, which led to South Carolina’s Ordinance of Nullification, whereby the state rightly condemned the 48 percent average tariff rate as a blatant act of plunder (mostly at the South’s expense) and refused to collect it at Charleston Harbor. Loewen writes that “when, after South Carolina demanded the right to nullify federal laws or secede to protest, President Andrew Jackson threatened force.” That much is true. “No state joined the movement, and South Carolina backed down,” Loewen then writes. This is all false. It is not true that “no state joined the movement.” As historian Chauncy Boucher wrote in The Nullification Controversy in South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina, and Alabama joined South Carolina in publicly denouncing the Tariff of Abominations, while the Yankee bastions of Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Indiana, and New York responded with their own resolutions in support of political plunder through extortionate tariff rates.

Obama presidency: Hamiltonian curse or Marxist mess?
Exclusive: Ilana Mercer talks to Tom DiLorenzo about new book exposing Founding Father

By Ilana Mercer

Note: In today’s offering, Ilana interviews professor Thomas J. DiLorenzo about his new book, “Hamilton’s Curse: How Jefferson’s Archenemy Betrayed the American Revolution – and What It Means for America Today,” with relevance to the events of the day.

ILANA: The president-elect’s leanings are more Marx than Hamilton. This makes Barack Obama even more alien to the American system than was Hamilton, the subject of your new book, “Hamilton’s Curse.” Nevertheless, he’ll adapt. Tell us how Alexander Hamilton cursed the old republic, and how you think Obama’s socialist statism will blend and meld with American, Hamiltonian statism?

TOM DILORENZO: Hamilton was the intellectual leader of the nationalist movement among the founders who wanted to import the corrupt British mercantilist empire to America. He wanted the government to pursue “imperial glory,” another word for empire, and to adopt a set of economic policies – protectionist tariffs, a large national debt, corporate welfare and monetary manipulation by a bank operated by politicians out of the nation’s capital. At the constitutional convention, he proposed a permanent president who would appoint all the governors who would have veto power over all state legislation. A “king,” in other words. Jefferson and his followers viewed this as nothing less than a betrayal of the American Revolution. They had just fought a war against that very system, and Hamilton wanted to turn around and adopt it here in the U.S. Hamilton believed that a mercantilist empire was a bad thing if you were on the paying end, but quite good if you were on the collecting end. It’s good to be the king, as Mel Brooks might say. Jefferson opposed him every step of the way, believing that every one of his policy proposals would not only be economically unwise, but destructive of the very liberty the Revolution was fought to advance.

The Hamilton/Jefferson political battle raged on for decades, but some historians call the post-Civil War era the period of “Hamiltonian hegemony,” where the presidency became more and more dominant over Congress; states’ rights or federalism became essentially nullified; and all of Hamilton’s mercantilist economic policies were adopted, from protectionism to corporate welfare for the railroad corporations. The Republican Party has always been the party of Hamiltonian mercantilism. That’s why I’ve called Lincoln “the political son of Alexander Hamilton,” as far as economic policy and the structure of government are concerned.

Some citizens outraged, calling probe
‘illegal search and invasion’ of property

WorldNetDaily

A sanitation district in Pennsylvania has notified homeowners that its representatives will be making personal visits to every structure served by its network of drainpipes because that’s what the federal Environmental Protection Agency is demanding.

The letter informs homeowners the inspections will probably take only about 15 minutes, but that all properties “will be considered a source of clear water discharges until an inspection can be conducted.”

The effort, according to officials at the Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority, is to prevent water from sources such as sump pumps or downspouts from being channeled into a water treatment process.

But homeowners are concerned about the mandatory government inspections of their properties.

“I do consider this the equivalent of illegal search and invasion of my home without just cause and [it] establishes a situation where I am guilty and must prove innocence,” one homeowner, who asked that his identity be withheld, told WND.

What else is the government trying to find out? Details in “Spychips”

“This inspection is to determine if I am ‘discharging’ ‘clean water’ into the sewer system. At no point in the letter does it say exactly what will be looked at, (I guess leaky faucets will be a crime) what else may be being evaluated while my property is being inspected, what is on the ‘check list’ or report that is being done, and really exactly who is doing the inspection,” he said.

Officials with the sanitation district confirmed that they dispatched the letter and said the inspections are being demanded by the EPA. However, officials at the regional EPA office and those at its Washington headquarters declined to respond to WND questions about the process or its goals.

All wonder what could motivate such a horrible act. However, some have attempted to use this tragedy to discredit philosophical adversaries or score political points. AN OPEN LETTER TO CLINT EASTWOOD….by Dick Gaines

An Open Letter To Clint Eastwood

I see by recent news articles that you are to be involved in a new film regarding the raising of our flag on Iwo Jima on February 23, 1945. I have wondered if this is going to be yet another of the usual party line accounts, or if this one will finally be an in-depth full story and truth of that event in our history.

Since it is you involved this time, I expect the latter could be the case, and I think it’s worth a shot to attempt to bring the following information to your attention in hopes that the story of Marine Ray Jacobs, and others, might finally be brought to the attention of the American public in a way that is worthy of both the event and the men themselves.

Jacobs is one of the known remaining survivors, along with Chuck Lindberg, of Lt. Schrier’s 40-man combat patrol up Suribachi that day to raise our colors over the Japanese homeland. I am referring here to the earlier first (so-called) flag raising–not the later raising of a replacement flag that was photographed by Joe Rosenthal (and was also shot by Sgt Bill Genaust on motion-picture film as well)–and which quickly, and incorrectly, became famous as the Iwo Jima flag raising well-known to all. The actual flag raising was photographed earlier that same day by Marine S/Sgt Lou Lowery, and is not nearly so well-known. Even today, nearly sixty years after the battle for Iwo Jima, a number of facts are still in question, and the emphasis of the flag raising itself remains on the replacement flag and not the original flag raised.

Juror’s research led to murder mistrial By Bob Kalinowski (Staff Writer) Published: January 17, 2011

Legal experts have coined them “Google mistrials.”

Curious jurors seeking to conduct their own research surf the Internet about facts presented in court, bringing a halt to important court cases and tainting the outcome.

Sometimes it’s done unwittingly. Other times it’s done against a judge’s specific directions.

On Friday, it ended Lamont Cherry’s murder trial in Luzerne County court. A juror admitted to researching medical issues at home on her computer after five hours of deliberations Thursday ended in a deadlocked panel, prompting a cloud of confusion and eventually a mistrial in the case.

Cherry was acquitted of first-degree murder, while a mistrial was declared on two other counts of homicide, in the death of 12-month-old Zalayia McCloe in May 2009.

In today’s technology-driven world and rise of Internet-capable smart phones, courts are increasingly declaring mistrials and overturning convictions after learning jurors used the Internet to research cases or commented about proceedings on social media sites, media law experts say.

The so-called “Google mistrials” have prompted courts across the country to adopt more specific rules for jurors’ use of technology as it relates to the cases in which they serve.

“Traditionally, courts have told jurors not to read the newspaper, don’t watch TV, or listen to radio coverage of the case. I take the position, in this day of age, that’s not enough,” said Eric Robinson, a Reno, Nev., attorney who is deputy director of the Reynolds Center for Courts and Media at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Facebook change exposes users’ contact details
The Telegraph ^ | 1/17/11 | Emma Barnett

Posted on Monday, January 17, 2011 8:05:35 AM by markomalley

Late on Friday evening, Facebook made the tweak to its developer terms, via its blog, saying: “We are now making a user’s address and mobile phone number accessible [to developers],” prompting security experts to warn people to remove their personal contact details from the site immediately.

Moving forward, whenever a Facebook user accepts the terms and conditions of downloading an app, such as a game or a video developed for the platform by a third party company, they will also be allowing that company access to their mobile telephone number and address, if they have previously loaded that information into their profile.

“This change isn’t as drastic as it might first appear, because users will need to give permission for third-party Facebook applications to access this data,” explained Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at IT security and control firm Sophos. “But it still sounds like a recipe for disaster, given the prevalence of rogue scam applications already on Facebook – all of which benefit from apparently being blessed by the Facebook name and brand.”

According to Sophos, Facebook is already plagued by rogue applications which solely exist to post spam links to users’ walls, point users to survey scams that earn them commission – and sometimes even trick users into handing over their mobile numbers to sign them up for a premium rate service.

Group targeting Glenn Beck funded by Soros
WND.com ^ | January 16, 2011 | Aaron Klein

Posted on Sunday, January 16, 2011 9:29:41 PM by Jet Jaguar

An organization leading a crusade demanding Fox News fire host Glenn Beck is backed by philanthropist George Soros and is tied to many of the liberal activists that Beck routinely excoriates on his highly rated program, WND has learned.

Jewish Funds for Justice, or JFSJ, a charity that campaigns for social change, delivered a petition with 10,000 signatures to Fox News this past week in protest of a program in which Beck specifically targeted Soros, calling the businessman the “puppet master.” JFSJ deemed the show anti-Semitic.

During the program, Beck highlighted nine people of the 20th century who contributed to what he called “the era of the big lie.” All nine of those figures were Jewish, including psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, columnist Walter Lippman and Gov. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania.

JFSJ is funded by Soros’ Open Society Institute.

In 2009, the Open Society provided a $150,000 grant to the JFSJ and its associated group, the Funder’s Collaborative on Youth Organizing.

In 2010, the Open Society provided a $200,000 grant to last a period of two years.

JFSJ says it is seeking to create a just, fair and compassionate America, with social and economic security for all citizens. The group believes that “by transforming leaders, we are better able to transform society” and “create a more just world.”

What are liberals so afraid of?
Enter Stage Right ^ | January 17, 2011 | Daniel M. Ryan

Posted on Sunday, January 16, 2011 9:40:31 PM by 2ndDivisionVet

The outpouring of hatred triggered by the Arizona shooting is different from the usual animosity from liberal ranks. This time, there’s a definite admixture of fear. There are some liberals who have tried to take the high road; in so doing, they ignored “excesses” on their own side. But the ones who are belting out do show they’re scared of something. Which leads to the question, what are they so afraid of? Rush Limbaugh, the “harmless little fuzzball?” Glenn Beck? The Tea Party, home of the protests where the protesters pick up their own trash? Sarah Palin, at her nastiest when she kidded with her kids about Michelle Obama‘s no-junk-food campaign?

The obvious answer, given which party won last year’s Congressional elections, is “they’re afraid of losing power.” That answer doesn’t fit the way they act when they are out of power. Back when the Republicans controlled the White House and both houses of Congress, liberals weren’t afraid; their hatreds were admixed with anger. President Bush was called all sorts of bad names. There was even a teenager who outright threatened to kill George W. Bush back in 2004. Did liberals tone it down in consequence, or did they keep on doing their thing? Obviously, the latter. Did they turn the doctrine of collective guilt on themselves? No; they just kept on with their own vitriol. Threats, even of his life, continued all through the rest of Bush’s Presidency – including threats that were not part of protests. Liberals did not tone it down as a result, and that climate hasn’t changed. Death threats against Sarah Plain have spiked.

I could point to the partiality, which is having definitely uncivil consequences, but I want to point to the lack of fear.

They could have been made afraid by the violence perpetrated by the psychotic Jared Lee Loughner. Six dead and fourteen wounded in a quiet meeting-place is going to strike fear in any normal person. A Safeway is far from being an urban trouble zone. The random character of the bloodshed – whose cause was Loughner’s mental illness – does add to the fear. This cause is plausible, but not accurate. Had liberals feared the insane going postal, they would have clamoured for a “less insane” (stricter, better-funded) commitment policy in the state of Arizona like this mental-health professional is hinting at.They could have even blamed the Arizona Republicans for being too lenient on violent psychotics, or the authorities for not using the commitment tools in place. In the wake of the massacre, they didn’t.

Abraham Delano Messiah Obama?

by Thomas J. DiLorenzo
by Thomas J. DiLorenzo

The political Left (which includes almost all journalists in America) just can’t make up its mind over whether Barack Obama most resembles Lincoln, FDR, Jesus Christ — or some combination thereof. All during his campaign many of his supporters kept referring to him as “The Messiah”; there is much talk of how he will immediately propose the re-adoption of many of FDR’s government interventions (that only made the Great Depression worse); and we are told (constantly) that he intends to make use of Lincoln’s rhetoric, especially in his first inaugural address. He has been studying Lincoln’s speeches, we are told by his handlers. If so, we are in for a lot of doubletalk and lies bordering on the psychotic.

There has been so much “spin” attached to Lincoln’s speeches by the Lincoln Cult, which often produces entire books instructing us all on how to “properly” interpret a single short speech, that it is almost impossible for the average person to understand what was actually said. (The speeches are all online, so all interested parties are able to read them for themselves without the spin.)

Lincoln’s White Supremacy Speech

The May 25, 2004 edition of the Washington Post included a story about how Hillary Clinton joined a number of neo-conservatives at the home of the Heritage Foundation’s James Swanson to “celebrate” a new book by Hillary pal Harold Holzer entitled “Lincoln at Cooper Union: The Speech that Made Abraham Lincoln President.” I agree with these left-wing and right-wing neoconservatives that it did indeed provide a big boost to Lincoln’s candidacy. In order to understand why, one must understand that in the speech Lincoln promised to do all that he could, if elected, to keep black people out of the new territories and isolated in the Southern states. He pledged to keep them as far away as possible from the Northern population, in other words, which was very pervasively racist. That’s why the speech was so well received in New York City, which had just ended slavery in 1853 (see the book Slavery in New York). A key paragraph of the Cooper Union speech is one where Lincoln refers to the founding fathers:

As those fathers marked it [slavery], so let it be again marked, as an evil not to be tolerated and protected only because of and so far as its actual presence among us makes that toleration and protection a necessity. Let all the guarantees those fathers gave it, be, not grudgingly, but fully and fairly maintained. For this Republicans contend, and with this, so far as I know or believe, they will be content.

Speaking to a New York City audience, Lincoln stated here that the federal government’s protections of Southern slavery should be “fully” maintained. The reason for this, he said, was that, well, slavery exists! The audience reaction was reportedly quite enthusiastic, for most Northerners wanted slavery — and black people — to remain in the South.

In his October 16, 1854 speech in Peoria, Illinois, Lincoln first explained his (and the Republican Party’s) position on the extension of slavery into the new territories. “The whole nation is interested that the best use shall be made of these territories. We want them for the homes of free white people” (emphasis added). Lincoln’s secretary of state, William Seward, explained that “the motive of those who protested against the extension of slavery had always really been concern for the welfare of the white man, and not an unnatural sympathy for the Negro” (James McPherson, The Struggle for Equality, p. 24). Illinois Senator and Lincoln confidant Lyman Trumbull declared that “we, the Republican Party, are the white man’s party” (Eugene Berwanger, The Frontier Against Slavery, p. 133). Historian Eugene Berwanger noted in The Frontier Against Slavery (p. 154) that “Republicans [in 1860] made no pretense of being concerned with the fate of the Negro and insisted that theirs was a party of white labor. By introducing a note of white supremacy, they hoped to win the votes of the Negrophobes and the anti-abolitionists who were opposed to the extension of slavery.” And Lincoln was the man they chose to accomplish this task.

The “spin” that the Lincoln Cult has put on Lincoln’s (and the Republican Party’s) opposition to the extension of slavery into the new territories is that that would somehow magically lead eventually to the destruction of slavery everywhere. They were “picking the low-hanging fruit” is how it is often explained. This of course is complete nonsense.

Lincoln’s Slavery Forever Speech

Lincoln’s first inaugural address may be considered his “slavery forever” speech because in it he goes to extremes to promise his everlasting support for Southern slavery. Quoting himself, he declared that “I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.” He then quoted the Republican Party platform of 1860 which made the exact same pledge. In what was the first Big Lie of his administration, which was barely one hour old, he repeated the statement from the Republican Party platform that said: “[W]e denounce the lawless invasion by armed force of the soil of any State or Territory, no matter what pretext, as among the gravest of crimes.” Within a month he would prove himself, and his party, to be liars.

Lincoln then strongly supported the Fugitive Slave Clause of the Constitution, reminding his audience that every member of Congress had taken an oath to support this, and all other parts of the Constitution. All members of Congress, Lincoln assured his audience, agreed that runaway slaves “shall be delivered up” to their owners.

Near the end of the Slavery Forever speech Lincoln pledges his support for a constitutional amendment (the “Corwin Amendment”) that would have prohibited the federal government from ever interfering with Southern slavery. In his words:

I understand a proposed amendment to the Constitution — which amendment, however, I have not seen — has passed Congress, to the effect that the Federal Government shall never interfere with the domestic institutions of the States, including that of persons held to service. To avoid minsconstruction of what I have said, I depart from my purpose not to speak of particular amendments so far as to say that, holding such a provision to now be implied constitutional law, I have no objection to its being made express and irrevocable.

King’s God: The Unknown Faith of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Tikkun Magazine ^ | Nov./Dec. ’09 | Robert James “Be” Scofield

Posted on Sunday, January 16, 2011 8:45:36 PM by Zionist Conspirator

You undoubtedly know that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a progressive Christian and champion of civil rights and the social gospel. You may also know that he spoke out against the Vietnam War, harshly criticized U.S. foreign policy, and questioned the capitalist system that produced poverty. But do you know his theology?

Right up until Dr. King’s assassination in Memphis, Tennessee, where he had traveled to support striking sanitation workers, the civil rights leader worked—not as a secular activist but as a Baptist minister—to awaken the conscience of the nation. What was the meaning of Jesus for Dr. King? Did he see Jesus as divine? How did he interpret the Bible?

Biographies describe King as a liberal Protestant, but what does this mean? What was his understanding of Christian doctrines and why are they important to us? A number of academic papers written during his seminary years (1948-1951) provide an intimate look at the young King as he struggled to reconcile religion with a changing, dynamic, and modern world.

Prior to entering the liberal Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania, King had developed only a tenuous relationship with Christianity. Despite being raised in a lineage of orthodox Baptist ministers, King at a young age demonstrated skepticism of the irrational claims of religion, and embarrassment at the emotionalism of his father’s preaching. His entrance into Christianity at the age of six came from neither a genuine religious conviction nor a crisis moment; rather, he saw his sister make the altar call during a local religious revival and quickly followed suit. He claimed that during his baptism he had no idea what was occurring. Perhaps most striking was his denial of the bodily resurrection of Jesus during Sunday school at the age of thirteen. From this point he stated, “doubts began to spring forth unrelentingly.”[i]

King carried these suspicions with him when he entered Morehouse College in Atlanta at the age of fifteen. He had originally planned on being a doctor or lawyer. At Morehouse, under the guidance of President Benjamin E. Mays and professor George D. Kelsey, he began to believe that religion could be both “intellectually respectful and emotionally satisfying.” Mays’s weekly talks on the social gospel enchanted King, while Kelsey’s Bible course taught him to see the Bible metaphorically, leading him to conclude the Bible has “many profound truths which one cannot escape.”[ii]

While the “shackles of fundamentalism” broke off during these years at Morehouse, it was at Crozer that King discovered the insights and potential of liberal theology and began to articulate his opinions about Christianity. It was here that he found his calling, graduating first in his class and delivering the commencement address. He would go on to study the twentieth-century giants of theology — Tillich, Wieman, Niebuhr, and Barth — while pursuing a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Boston University. But by the end of his seminary years at Crozer he had already laid out his understanding of the core doctrines of the Christian faith. And it is here that we now direct our focus.

Anyone else coming to the conclusion yet that everything that can be said in this whole cluster**** has indeed been repeated on and on into oblivion!

After all, did the FFs sit around and pamphleteer and town crier each min-issue to death, stating their “rights” and the never ending illegal offenses against them.

Perhaps that breed of man has vanished forever; perhaps the leaders of that breed of men have long ago been systematically phased out; maybe they got our number.

In any case, I don’t see anything changing for the good anywhere soon.

Rave on.

A RESPONSE TO THE BLOOD LIBEL OF 1860 by Abraham Lincoln:

“You charge that we stir up insurrections among your slaves. We deny it; and what is your proof? Harper’s Ferry! John Brown!! John Brown was no Republican; and you have failed to implicate a single Republican in his Harper’s Ferry enterprise. If any member of our party is guilty in that matter, you know it or you do not know it. If you do know it, you are inexcusable for not designating the man and proving the fact. If you do not know it, you are inexcusable for asserting it. . .”

Michael Reagan calls brother an ‘embarrassment’ (Michael is right)
Politico ^ | January 15, 2011 | James Hohmann

Posted on Saturday, January 15, 2011 6:13:19 PM by jazusamo

Ronald Reagan’s conservative son called his liberal half-brother “an embarrassment” Saturday for speculating in a new memoir that their father suffered from Alzheimer’s disease while president.

“Ron, my brother was an embarrassment to his father when he was alive and today he became an embarrassment to his mother,” Michael Reagan posted on Twitter.

“My brother seems to want [to] sell out his father to sell books,” he added in another tweet.

The sibling tension bubbles over just three weeks before Ronald Reagan’s 100th birthday, which will kick off a year of events to honor the 40th president.

In “My Father at 100,” Ron Reagan recalls early warning signs of his father losing his mental faculties. “The question,” he writes, “of whether my father suffered from the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s while in office more or less answers itself.”

Michael Reagan, adopted during President Reagan’s first marriage, comes out with his own book on Tuesday. It’s a polemic called “The New Reagan Revolution: How Ronald Reagan’s Principles Can Restore America’s Greatness.” Newt Gingrich, a likely 2012 Republican candidate for president, wrote the foreword.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, closely tied to former first lady Nancy Reagan, issued its own statement, more delicate but still forceful, pushing back on the claim that he suffered from Alzheimer’s while leading the free world.

“We believe Ron has written a wonderfully warm and engaging book about life with his father, Ronald Reagan,” the foundation said. “It offers a tribute that only a son could present. As for the topic of Alzheimer’s, this subject has been well documented over the years by both President Reagan’s personal physicians, physicians who treated him after the diagnosis, as well as those who worked closely with him daily. All are consistent in their view that signs of Alzheimer’s did not appear until well after President Reagan left the White House.”

Indeed, Reagan was not officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s until 1994.

Ron Reagan recalled the earliest signs of Alzheimer’s during an interview that aired Friday night on ABC’s “20/20,” but he also argued that it should not undercut the legacy of his father’s presidency.

In the book, he guesses that his father probably would have resigned had he known he was ill. Excerpts from the book, which doesn’t come out until Tuesday, were first published on the U.S. News & World Report’s Washington Whispers blog.

Breaking: Tucson Tea Party Leader Threatened At ABC Taping, Audience Member Screams: “Trent Humphries You’re Dead!”

While Trent was speaking at the event, an audience member screamed, “Trent Humphries, you’re dead!”

ABC News held a town hall event today in Tucson, Arizona. Local officials, friends and heroes were at the event. News anchor Christiane Amanpour was the host. The segment will air tomorrow. ABC gathered members from the Tucson community to discuss the tragic shooting last Saturday that wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and left 6 people dead.

State Representative Terri Proud was at the event sitting between Trent and the violent audience member. Terri was there to speak about the local gun laws. She described the scene to me just minutes ago:

Trent Humphries, the Pima County tea party leader, stood up to speak during the event. He was being very respectful. Trent told the audience that before we start placing blame on individuals we need to get all the facts. Trent then told everyone that one of those killed during the shooting was his neighbor and that he was affected like everyone else by the tragedy… While Trent was speaking- And it was planned that he would speak- One member in the audience and reportedly one of the victims of the tragedy started screaming, “Trent Humphries you’re dead!” The police immediately escorted him out. On his way out he screamed, “You’re all whores.”

LewRockwell.com Lincoln’s ‘Second American Revolution’ by Thomas J. DiLorenzo…

Lincoln’s ‘Second American Revolution

by Thomas J. DiLorenzo

James McPherson and other prominent historians sometimes speak of Abraham Lincoln’s “Second American Revolution” (the title of one of McPherson’s books). They are correct to portray Lincoln as a revolutionary, but the reasons they give for this are incomplete or inaccurate. He led a revolution all right, but it was an anti-American revolution against virtually all the founding principles of this country. It was a revolution against: free-market capitalism (Lincoln was a devoted mercantilist); the principles of the Declaration of Independence; the Constitution; the system of states’ rights and federalism that was created by the founders; and the prohibitions against waging war on civilians embodied in the international law of the time as well as the canons of Western Christian civilization.

LINCOLN VERSUS THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

One of the most absurd Lincoln myths is that he was devoted to the principles of the Declaration of Independence. Harry Jaffa and his followers have perpetuated this myth for decades based on their own stylized interpretations of a few lines of Lincoln’s speeches. In reality, however, Lincoln’s words and actions thoroughly and completely repudiated every one of the main principles of the Declaration.

The Jaffaites usually dwell only on the “all men are created equal” line of the Declaration and ignore the rest of it. Not only is this selective reading of the Declaration intellectually dishonest; it is wrong. Lincoln denounced racial equality over and over again throughout his entire adult life. He did not believe that all men are created equal. In his August 21, 1858 debate with Stephen Douglas he said “I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and black races” and that “I, as well as Judge Douglas, am in favor of the race to which I belong having the superior position. I have never said anything to the contrary.”

“Anything that argues me into his idea of perfect social and political equality with the Negro,” he said in the same speech, “is but a specious and fantastic arrangement of words, by which a man can prove a horse chestnut to be a chestnut horse.”

“Free them and make them politically and socially our equals?” he continued. “My own feelings will not admit of this . . . . We cannot, then make them equals.”

In his book, Forced into Glory: Abraham Lincoln’s White Dream, Ebony magazine editor Lerone Bennett, Jr. writes that “On at least fourteen occasions between 1854 and 1860 Lincoln said unambiguously that he believed the Negro race was inferior to the White race. In Galesburg, he referred to ‘the inferior races.’ Who were ‘the inferior races’? African Americans, he said, Mexicans, who he called mongrels . . .”

For his entire adult life Lincoln advocated deporting all the black people in America to Africa, Central America, or Haiti (“colonization”) and was a member of the American Colonization Society. “There is a moral fitness in the idea of returning to Africa her children,” he said in his 1852 eulogy to Henry Clay. Ten years later, in his December 1, 1862 message to Congress, he said, “I cannot make it better known than it already is, that I strongly favor colonization.” He held these views until the day he died. As Joe Sobran has remarked, Lincoln’s position was that black people could be “equal” all right, but not here in the U.S.

Lincoln supported the Illinois constitution, which prohibited the emigration of black people into the state; he supported the Illinois Black Codes, which deprived free blacks of any semblance of citizenship or economic freedom; in his First Inaugural he supported a proposed constitutional amendment that would have prohibited the federal government from interfering with slavery; and he was a staunch supporter of the Fugitive Slave Act which coerced the Northern states to round up runaway slaves and return them to slavery. He did denounce slavery in principle, as did most political, military, and business leaders of the era. But as historian Robert Johannsen explained in Lincoln, the South, and Slavery, his position was opposition to slavery in principle, toleration of it in practice, and a vigorous hostility to the abolition movement. The notion that Lincoln was a champion of equality is an Orwellian absurdity.

LINCOLN’S WAR AGAINST CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED

A most important principle of the Declaration is the idea that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed. In 1861 nearly every opinion maker in the country, North and South, held this as a cherished belief and, as such, thought that using military force to coerce any state to remain in the Union would be an act of tyranny and a repudiation of the Declaration of Independence. As the Bangor Daily Union wrote on November 13, 1860, the Union “depends for its continuance on the free consent and will of the sovereign people of each state, and when that consent and will is withdrawn on either part, their Union is gone.” A state coerced into the Union is “a subject province” and may never be “a co-equal member of the American Union.”

My Name is Betsy. I’m a Killer.
American Thinker ^ | January 13, 2011 | By Betsy M. Galliher

Posted on Saturday, January 15, 2011 2:39:53 PM by granite

My name is Betsy. I’m a wife and proud soccer mom, a writer, and a small business owner. I’m also a killer.

On the morning of January 8, 2011, I intentionally entered a gathering held by Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and shot her at near-point-blank range. I injured fourteen others, killing six — among them a beautiful, curious, doe-eyed, nine-year-old girl. I didn’t actually pull the trigger, but I’m as guilty as the psychopath who did.

Here are just a few of the charges against me:

I am a conservative.

On occasion, I listen to Beck, Limbaugh, and Fox News.

I’ve been known to pick up a book or two by conservative authors: Thomas Sowell, Andrew McCarthy, or the Founding Fathers, for example!

I believe that the federal government is too large, far too intrusive, and dangerously powerful.

I believe in personal responsibility and the amazing generosity of Americans to aid those in need rather than permanent entitlements.

I believe that the private, not the public, sector is the backbone of our economy.

I believe that our progressive tax system is punitive. We are over-taxed, over-regulated, and over-lectured.

I believe in the power of the free market to correct itself, without government (taxpayer) intervention.

I believe that the Constitution is intended to limit government and empower the individual.

I believe in holding our elected officials’ feet to the fire, be they Republican or Democrat (incendiary pun intended).

I believe that our sovereignty is at risk via unsecured borders, out-of-control spending, our crippling deficit, reckless abuses of the Constitution, and the moral decay of Washington.

In short, I’m a madman. Guilty as charged, and armed with the belief in my 1st-Amendment right to peaceably question those we elect to serve.

The only person who actually pulled the trigger on that terrible, fateful day was Jared Loughner — by every account, a deeply troubled young man. But the real guilty walk among us: senior citizens in red, white, and blue, armed with signs saying “Taxed Enough Already“; flag-wavers clinging to guns and religion; doctors; the wealthy; business owners; talk radio; and any citizen — particularly a conservative — who dares exercise his or her right to free speech.

We’re called greedy, stupid, and racist. We’re ridiculed with snide “slurpee” innuendos and called lewd and malicious names, such as “teabaggers.” Ordinary citizens are maligned by their own government while the pious, liberal elite get a free pass on reason and truth, while Islamists invoke their religious cloak, while the ideologue professes his moral superiority, while the media uses the power of spin, and while leftists, including Robert Gibbs and Barack Obama, employ their bully pulpit.

We defend conservatism by our very way of life: as self-reliant, taxpaying, moral citizens, and as faithful defenders of limited government and the power of the individual. We are violent inciters only insomuch as we threaten the current leftist, agenda-driven stranglehold on government. So alarming is our threat that the real inciters wasted no time in politicizing the tragic deaths of six innocent citizens, not to mention one revered congresswoman still fighting for her life. And they will waste no time in shamelessly exploiting a “crisis” at the hand of a lone psychopath to further enact gun control and squelch freedom of speech under cries of “civility.”

Does the left really believe that the “rhetoric” of Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, and Fox is incendiary? Do they fail to understand that the language of conservative “talk” is the echo of ordinary citizens calling for limited government and individual freedoms? Or do they silence us because we know our current leaders don’t actually believe in their own limited power? Truth be told, even Jared Loughner undermines their agenda. And they know it. They know that their “transformation” of America is failing and that people like me are not afraid to say so.

My name is Betsy, and I’m a killer. They are determined to stop me before I kill again.

…Yes, yes, The Speech was fine. Full of rainbows and unicorns and signifying nothing. But did the whole thing have to be turned into a campagin rally? Were the names of the victims listed on the back, like a rock band’s tour schedule? Faugh! This is appalling.

Do you remember anything like this happening at the memorial for the victims of the Virginia Tech shooting? Nope. Columbine? The Amish West Nickel Mines School shooting? Nope.

Sure wish my great grandmother had grabbed one of these when she went to Gettysburg…

Michelle Obama Urges ‘Tolerance’ in Open Letter to Parents About the Tucson Shooting (BARF)
CNS News ^ | 1/14/11 | Susan Jones

Posted on Friday, January 14, 2011 8:17:23 AM by markomalley

The mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona offers a teachable moment for American parents, says First Lady Michelle Obama.

In an open letter posted on the White House Web site, Mrs. Obama says the “lessons” include “the value of tolerance” and giving others “the benefit of the doubt, particularly those with whom they disagree.”

Mrs. Obama urges parents to tell their children about the six people killed in the Jan. 8 shooting. “And we can work together to honor their legacy by following their example – by embracing our fellow citizens; by standing up for what we believe is right; and by doing our part, however we can, to serve our communities and our country.”

The text of the letter — posted on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at 6:07 p.m. EST – follows in its entirety:

An Open Letter to Parents Following the Tragedy in Tucson

Dear parents,

Like so many Americans all across the country, Barack and I were shocked and heartbroken by the horrific act of violence committed in Arizona this past weekend.  Yesterday, we had the chance to attend a memorial service and meet with some of the families of those who lost their lives, and both of us were deeply moved by their strength and resilience in the face of such unspeakable tragedy.

As parents, an event like this hits home especially hard.  It makes our hearts ache for those who lost loved ones.  It makes us want to hug our own families a little tighter.  And it makes us think about what an event like this says about the world we live in – and the world in which our children will grow up.

In the days and weeks ahead, as we struggle with these issues ourselves, many of us will find that our children are struggling with them as well.  The questions my daughters have asked are the same ones that many of your children will have – and they don’t lend themselves to easy answers.  But they will provide an opportunity for us as parents to teach some valuable lessons – about the character of our country, about the values we hold dear, and about finding hope at a time when it seems far away.

We can teach our children that here in America, we embrace each other, and support each other, in times of crisis.  And we can help them do that in their own small way – whether it’s by sending a letter, or saying a prayer, or just keeping the victims and their families in their thoughts.

We can teach them the value of tolerance – the practice of assuming the best, rather than the worst, about those around us.  We can teach them to give others the benefit of the doubt, particularly those with whom they disagree.

Obama Orders Military To Prepare For Spring Food Riots

Posted: 13 Jan 2011 05:48 AM PST

A grim report prepared by France’s General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) obtained by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) states that president’s Obama and Sarkozy have “agreed in principal” to create a joint US-European military force to deal exclusively with a Global uprising expected this spring as our World runs out of food.

According to this report, Sarkozy, as head of the G-20 group of developed Nations, called for and received an emergency meeting with Obama this past Monday at the White House wherein he warned his American counterpart that the shock rise in food prices occurring due to an unprecedented series of disasters was threatening the stability of the entire World and could lead to the outbreak of Total Global War.

Just last week French Prime Minister Francois Fillon underlined that one of France’s top G-20 priorities was to find a collective response to “excessive volatility” in food prices now occurring, a statement joined by Philippe Chalmin, a top economic adviser to the French government, who warned the World may face social unrest including food riots in April as grain prices increase to unprecedented highs.

The fears of the French government over growing Global instability was realized this past week after food riots erupted in Algeria and Tunisia and left over 50 dead. So dire has the situation become in Tunisia that their government this morning rushed in massive amounts of troops and tanks to their capital city Tunis and instituted a Nationwide curfew in an order to quell the growing violence.

The United Nations, also, warned this past Friday that millions of people are now at risk after food prices hit their highest level ever as Global wheat stocks fell to 175.2 million tons from 196.7 million tons a year ago; Global corn stocks are said may be 127.3 million tons at the end of this season, compared with last month’s USDA outlook for 130 million tons; and Global soybean inventories will drop to 58.78 million tons at the end of this season, from 60.4 million tons a year earlier.

Robert Zoellick, president of the World Bank, further warned this past week that rising food prices are “a threat to global growth and social stability” as our World, for the first time in living memory, has been warned is just “one poor harvest away from chaos”.

Important to note about how dire the Global food situation has become is to understand the disasters that have befallen our World’s top wheat growing Nations this past year, and who in descending order are: China, India, United States, Russia, France, Canada, Germany, Ukraine, Australia and Pakistan.

From China’s disaster: 2010 China drought and dust storms were a series of severe droughts during the spring of 2010 that affected Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Sichuan, Shanxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Hebei and Gansu in the People’s Republic of China as well as parts of Southeast Asia including Vietnam and Thailand, and dust storms in March and April that affected much of East Asia. The drought has been referred to as the worst in a century in southwestern China.

Rand Paul: Reaction To Arizona Shooting Manufactured Out Of Rahm Emanuel Playbook 130111feature3

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has hit out at politicians and those in the media that have attempted to use the tragic shooting in Arizona as a political point scoring exercise.

Appearing on Freedom Watch with Andrew Napolitano, Paul referred to the former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s notorious assertion [2] “you never want a serious crisis go to waste”.

Speaking of pundits and politicians who have outright blamed the killing spree on political discourse and sought to introduce legislation to curb such rhetoric, the Senator stated:

“Well, these are the kind of things that I think some on the left decided to manufacture even before the events occur. I mean, this is part of the playbook of Rahm Emanuel where they say any crisis should be used to their advantage to further their agenda.”

“The people who politicize this really ought to be ashamed of themselves.” Paul added.

“I think it also does a disservice to those who died, to Judge Roll, who died, to representative Giffords. It’s a disservice to them that all of a sudden this tragedy that involves them in a very personal way, and their families, is being discounted so people on the other side of the political spectrum can make political points.”

“Can you imagine what it would have been like had there been any truth to the fact that this young man had any political beliefs or agenda and wasn’t crazy?” Senator Paul urged.

“But as it turns out, as you said in your piece that you led into, is that apparently the young man had no political motivations, and what I’ve read of his writings, it seemed that he was losing his grip with reality.”

“It’s about the age when we begin to see paranoid schizophrenia erupt, and in all likelihood, this man was criminally insane.”

“I’m not surprised that they do it,” Paul said of the attacks on rhetoric. “I do think they should be ashamed of themselves for doing it and [it] really just has no place in this discussion.”

CBS News allowed the following comment to be published on its website, following an article about Obama’s visit to Arizona yesterday:

… Who were the doctor(s) and nurse(s) at Kapi`Olani that delivered Barack? My ex-wife worked at the hospital and I understand the records at Kapi’Olani are impeccable. Where are the foot prints? What public records exist that can even demonstrate that Mrs. Obama was even at Kapi’Olani on the day of Barack’s birth? Talk at Kapi`Olani, would have been unabashed, the city of Honolulu at the time very racist towards black people.

More and more information on the lack of evidence of Obama’s birth in Hawaii continues to drip out. The Post and Email has an extensive article with two different long comments posted at the CBS site. Well worth reading.

A further excerpt follows:

It’s a big leap from running into Obama’s father on campus and knowing details of this birth. Especially since Barack’s father was the first papolo “black” person in the 60 year history of UH Manoa at that time to attend grad school. Hence would have attracted lots of looks and attention on campus, none the less having a pregnant white wife. Neil Abercrombie being a lifelong self promoter and attention seeker would have naturally gravitated to Mr. Obama Sr.

This comment “I was here when he was born” is worthless as you were not present at Mr. Obama’s birth.

I doubt also that you can swear under oath that you had ever visited the house Mrs. Obama, your “buddies wife” supposedly lived in on Kalaniana`ole Hwy near Hawai`i Kai.

The two separate birth announcements appearing in the local newspapers, The Honolulu Advertiser and The Honolulu Star-Bulletin, in 1961 needing further clarification. That the two newspapers were operating out of the same building at 605 Kapi`Olani St. That more than likely, the State Dept of Health, in 1961 was not prepared to deal with a birth where validity was in question.

The list of babies being printed prior to amending with Barak’s named stricken from the list. The only public and rather flimsy record contemporaneous to the time being offered to the public.

Who were the doctor(s) and nurse(s) at Kapi`Olani that delivered Barack?

My ex-wife worked at the hospital and I understand the records at Kapi’Olani are impeccable.

Where are the foot prints?

What public records exist that can even demonstrate that Mrs. Obama was even at Kapi’Olani on the day of Barack’s birth? And …

In low density Hawai`ian neighborhoods, the birth of a child is as much a neighborhood event as it is family. Curiosity held by the “local” ladies would have been insatiable. All would have made or gave gifts for the new baby, if for no other reason than to see this new born, regionally unique child.

I haven’t heard a single story about how someone gave this gift or that gift to the new mom or baby. Who were his local “aunties” that cared for the newborn?

Who were these mystery people in Honolulu whose identities and kindness still have yet to be revealed and openly appreciated by Mr. Obama?

Obama attempts to position himself as the second coming of Lincoln
http://www.TableOfWisdom.com ^ | January 12, 2011 | by Scott Ryan

Posted on Thursday, January 13, 2011 1:42:10 PM by publius321

After witnessing the effrontery of Barack Obama against the states and our constitution, it is apparent this man has come here for the sole purpose of fomenting a civil war. From day one of his campaign he has made efforts to position himself as a parallel to Lincoln. From his campaign announcement in front of the Illinois state capitol where Lincoln served (with a Lincoln banner behind him), to his announcement of Biden as his running mate (in front of a Lincoln banner), from his quoting of Lincoln (in specious contexts) to his insistence upon swearing in on the same Bible upon which Lincoln was sworn in and even having the exact same MENUE as Lincoln’s inauguration.

The problem is that this man, if anything, is the Anti-Lincoln. Lincoln dogged Senator Douglas all over the state of Illinois, challenging Douglas to debate the KEY ISSUE upon which his REPUBLICAN Party was literally founded. That issue was the central question of whether a human being can rightfully be the PROPERTY of another human being. The central belief to the contrary is rooted in the same moral absolute that our Declaration of Independence invokes, which is that life and our inalienable rights are granted by God and no human tribunal has the right to encroach upon that of another. The same pillar that demanded the abolition of slavery is central to the Republican Party’s platform on abortion. Claiming the authority to abrogate this right for one group of human beings over another is to blasphemously make oneself out to be that one and only God Himself.

It wasn’t a coincidence that Barack Hussein Obama went of his way to try to link himself to Lincoln. His campaign was the most carefully produced and contrived of any in history by producers from Hollywood to indoctrinated school children singing songs of devotion as though right out of the handbook of the most notorious communist dictators in history. To view such exploitation of children is enough to make any decent person sick to their stomach. (video posted here at tableofwisdom.com)

So he worked diligently to position himself a Lincoln-esque messiah over the years while crafting the division, pitting Americans against one another at every opportunity. He attacks every sacred value that made America what it is. He defends a Muslim terrorist who murdered soldiers at Fort Hood. He defends the terrorists who want to build a mosque over-looking the area of the Twin Towers. He goes on a tour bowing to foreign dictators. He tells the Islamic world that America is NOT a Christian nation. He does everything he possibly can to bankrupt our country with Marxist programs like his healthcare and nationalization schemes. And most recently, to exploit the latest tragedy, he moved to have Internet IDs for every American through the U.S. Commerce Department.

He picks at wounds and provokes states into a slew of law suits as he forces anarchy within border-states, refusing to enforce the federal laws that encapsulate the very charter of the federal government itself. Then he attacks such states for trying to enforce the federal laws that he encourages to be violated. Last, he works to sow discord in the US Military by working tirelessly to promote homosexuality within the ranks, giving commendation for sodomy and equating the “plight” of those enslaved to this perversion to that of the African slave who was afforded no autonomy over his or her destiny.

For such an imposter to attempt to equate himself to Abraham Lincoln is not a far cry from a metaphorical “abomination of desolation” (Rev 13).

If you read the New York Times from the years leading up to 1861, you will see the ferments surrounding the issue of slavery and state’s rights were very similar to those now. It it is only a matter of time before we see some kind of catalyst, some modern equivalent to our own modern day Harper’s Ferry. I envisioned that it would be an event that would transpire at any mosque built at the former site of the World Trade Center, as Americans will not likely tolerate such an egregious affront to their sensibilities and especially to the memory of those beloved who were murdered on September 11, 2001.

Whatever it may turn out to be, it is obvious that the bizarre circumstances in which this virtually unknown man came into power is so improbable given his lack of experience, recognition, Marxist and hateful mentors and colleagues. On top of all that, the fact that he shares the same name as the notorious rogue dictator we just removed and a world tribunal just executed makes it all the more surreal. I have previously written years ago that the improbability of all of this happening is so high that it demonstrates the fact that this can be nothing less than spiritual.

He is much like Leland Gaunt of the film Needful Things. The charming Gaunt, a man the community knows nothing about comes to the small town of “Castlerock”

Leland Gaunt comes to the pleasant little town of Castlerock, and opens a store. He has something for everyone. The price is of course corruption and chaos and it leads to the people to unspeakable violence. This man caters to, to turn around the phrase used by Lincoln, the FALLEN angels of our nature.

Watch the trailers for the film and tell me if you don’t see a parallel: (video posted here at tableofwisdom.com)

the obamites are always lifting lines from Lincoln. they are quite obsessed with him. tell me that he didn’t crib this line:

Obama last night : “There is nothing I can say that will fill the hole in your hearts, but I know this: the hopes of nation are here with you.”

Lincoln’s letter to Mrs. Lydia Bixby : I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

American Indian activist Russell Means explains how history has come full circle

Welcome To The Reservation means4

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com [1]
Wednesday, January 12, 2011

The United States is one big reservation, and we are all in it. So says Russell Means, legendary actor, political activist and leader for the American Indian Movement. Means led the 1972 seizure of the Bureau of Indian Affairs headquarters in Washington, D.C., and in 1973 led a standoff at Wounded Knee, South Dakota, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, a response to the massacre of at least 150 Lakotah men, women, and children by the U.S. Seventh Cavalry at a camp near Wounded Knee Creek.

American Indian Russell Means gives an eye-opening 90 minute interview in which he explains how Native Americans and Americans in general are all imprisoned within one huge reservation. Means is a leader for the Republic of Lakotah, a movement that has declared its independence from the United States and refused to recognize the authority of presidents or governments, withdrawing from treaties it made with the federal government and defining its borders which cover thousands of square miles in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Montana.

Means explains how American Indians have been enslaved within de facto prisoner of war camps as a result of the federal government’s restriction of their food supply and the application of colonial tactics, a process that has now also been inflicted on the United States as a whole which has turned into, “one huge Indian reservation,” according to Means.

Welcome To The Reservation means1 Welcome To The Reservation means3 Welcome To The Reservation means2

Means warns that Americans have lost the ability of critical though, and with each successive generation become more irresponsible and as a consequence less free, disregarding a near-perfect document, the Constitution, which was derived from Indian law. Means chronicles the loss of freedom from the 1840′s onwards, which marked the birth of the corporation, to Lincoln’s declaration of martial law, to the latter part of the 19th century and into the 20th when Congress “started giving banks the right to rule,” and private banking interests began printing the money.

“The history of the American and the history of the Indian have now come full circle and are intertwined in the dictatorial policies of those that control the monetary system of America,” remarks Means, pointing out that the elite are now so out of control that they are destroying themselves as well as the country.

Barack Obama has it both ways
Daily Telegraph ^ | July 13, 2011 | Janet Daley

Posted on Thursday, January 13, 2011 4:46:39 AM by Cincinatus’ Wife

…I am truly sorry to place such a terrible event in what appears a cynical, calculatedly political context but truly, democratic politics is about moral leadership and persuasion as much as anything else. A critique of the quality of Mr Obama’s speech is not a frivolous show business review: it is central to the concept of free debate and how it is to be conducted. So how did he do? There had been much speculation about whether he would criticise those on his own side who have exploited the tragedy for opportunistic purposes – accusing the Right of creating a “venomous” atmosphere in which such violent acts are triggered. And yes, he did that in pretty clear terms. We cannot, he said, use this occasion as one more excuse to turn on one another, especially when there was no evidence at all to show that the murder was provoked by exposure to political language. But he also said that this was a moment for everybody to take stock of the vehement rhetoric that had become commonplace in American national discourse – which, if you are so inclined, can be taken as a direct hit at Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement.

Some Random Thoughts
The battle has never changed from the beginning. It is “the seed of the serpent against the seed of the woman.” The battle is over truth, but not political truth, it is over eternal truth. Unfortunately, most people are unaware of this even though their Bible tells them that they “wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of the world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

January is often referred to as “Generals Month” since no less than four famous Confederate Generals claimed January as their birth month: James Longstreet (Jan. 8, 1821), Robert E. Lee (Jan. 19, 1807), Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson (Jan. 21, 1824), and George Pickett (Jan. 28, 1825). Two of these men, Lee and Jackson, are particularly noteworthy.

Without question, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson were two of the greatest military leaders of all time. Even more, many military historians regard the Lee and Jackson tandem as perhaps the greatest battlefield duo in the history of warfare. If Jackson had survived the battle of Chancellorsville, it is very possible that the South would have prevailed at Gettysburg and perhaps would even have won the War Between the States.

In fact, it was Lord Roberts, commander-in-chief of the British armies in the early twentieth century, who said, “In my opinion, Stonewall Jackson was one of the greatest natural military geniuses the world ever saw. I will go even further than that–as a campaigner in the field, he never had a superior. In some respects, I doubt whether he ever had an equal.”

While the strategies and circumstances of the War of Northern Aggression can (and will) be debated by professionals and laymen alike, one fact is undeniable: Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. Jackson were two of the finest Christian gentlemen this country has ever produced. Both their character and their conduct were beyond reproach.

Unlike his northern counterpart, Ulysses S. Grant, General Lee never sanctioned or condoned slavery. Upon inheriting slaves from his deceased father-in-law, Lee freed them. And according to historians, Jackson enjoyed a familial relationship with those few slaves that were in his home. In addition, unlike Abraham Lincoln and U.S. Grant, there is no record of either Lee or Jackson ever speaking disparagingly of the black race.

As those who are familiar with history know, General Grant and his wife held personal slaves before and during the War Between the States, and, contrary to popular opinion, even Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation did not free the slaves of the North. They were not freed until the Thirteenth Amendment was passed after the conclusion of the war. Grant’s excuse for not freeing his slaves was that “good help is so hard to come by these days.”

Benjamin Franklin, regarding the new Republic opined: “When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.” His reference was to individual voters or voting blocs using government to enrich themselves directly. Given the limited powers of the then fledgling Federal Government, he did not envision the “money go round” that permeates and too frequently dominates Washington DC.

“Liberals” and their snarky hypocritical ilk controlled the agenda in DC for most years after Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s war. That control existed and was kept alive on a sea of Federal largesse and campaign money. It began when FDR became the first President to use the Federal government as a vast vote buying machine. Republicans were knocked back on their heels and then supported…

Ineligible president cited as reason to kill Obamacare
Lawsuit says it’s not law because ‘the one’ is only ‘statutory citizen’

A lot of court cases have been filed alleging that Barack Obama never qualified to become president, and therefore is occupying the Oval Office as a matter of fact, but not of law. Now there’s a new case that argues since Obama is not legally president, his Obamacare takeover of the nation’s health-care industry should be voided.

“It is indisputable and not denied that Mr. Barack Hussein Obama Jr.‘s father was a citizen of the British Commonwealth,” says the lawsuit, now pending before a federal judge who is awaiting word from the Justice Department on how its lawyers want to defend against the claims.

“By law, it is undeniable Mr. Barack Hussein Obama Jr. is ineligible to hold the office of president of the United States. The framers of the Constitution when they adopted the requirement they excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born,” the lawsuit says.

“Mr. Obama was born of a father who is a British subject/citizen and Obama himself was the same. The term ‘natural born citizen‘ is defined, at least since 1758, as ‘a child born in the country of parents who are citizens.’ Only one of Barack Hussein Obama Jr.’s parents was a citizen at the time of his birth; in this case his mother … was/is a U.S. citizen.”

The focal point of the lawsuit brought by former financial company executive Nicholas E. Purpura and Donald R. Laster Jr., acting as their own attorneys, is a request to invalidate Obamacare.

Get the free, in-depth special report on eligibility that could bring an end to Obama’s presidency

Their complaint cites more than a dozen reasons why the act is illegal, and has been causing a stir in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, where, according to the plaintiffs, the government has missed several filing deadlines and a judge has expanded the definition of court procedure in order to prevent a default judgment against the government in the case.

(Story continues below)

According to Terry Hurlbut of the Examiner, who has been writing about the progress of the case ever since its filing a few months back, the latest move is a pre-emptive defense filed by the plaintiffs in expectation that the government will ask for the case to be dismissed.

The case cites 16 alleged violations of the Constitution, or the nation’s law, including multiple sections of Article I, Article 2, Amendments 1, 4, 5, 13, 14 and 16, and violations of a long list of other laws.

“The material facts herein demonstrate the Healthcare Reform Act not only illegally and unconstitutionally expands government, in an attempt by a majority party to take control of one-sixth of the U.S. economy, but an intentional fraudulent scheme was concocted by those in the legislature to intentionally circumvent the Constitution and Amendments,” the case states.

According to Hurlbut, the latest filing was over the weekend, when the plaintiffs reminded Judge Freda L. Wolfson that a dismissal of the case was appropriate “only if all the specific facts which plaintiff … alleges collectively fail to state a prima facie case for jurisdiction.”

Purpura told WND that the defense was filed even before the expected government motion to dismiss because the judge scheduled the government’s brief to be due Jan. 17, on Martin Luther King Day, a federal holiday, and she’s scheduled to announce her decision the next day, allowing no time for the plaintiffs to respond.

The case has attracted some of the same attorneys for the government who also are defending Obamacare in lawsuits brought by the state of Virginia, a series of plaintiffs in Michigan and a long list of states cooperating on a lawsuit in Florida. In those cases, two judges have concluded that Obamacare is constitutional and another has said it is not. All are heading to the appellate level.

Hurlbut told WND that the case has advanced to this point even though the federal government, which declined to respond to a WND request for comment, has not responded to any of the deadlines that ordinarily would apply in a lawsuit so far.

“The case is hanging right now because you’ve got defendants who have never filed a responsive pleading in this matter,” he said.

A timeline he’s assembled reveals the case was filed in September, and the next month the plaintiffs requested a Temporary Restraining Order seeking to stop enforcement of Obamacare.

The judge ignored their request, but when attorney Ethan P. Davis asked the judge on behalf of the government to deny the TRO request, it was granted in hours.

Now the plaintiffs are seeking a summary judgment, essentially a judge’s statement saying they win, because “the Justice Department filed no pleadings, responsive or otherwise, no motions, and indeed no letters until well into December,” he reported.

Purpura told WND he wants to get rid of Obamacare because, “the health care bill has nothing to do with health care. This is about control of the people.”

“This is insanity,” he said.

The Media Has Declared… WAR!
The American Thinker ^ | January 12, 2011 | John Fricke

Posted on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 5:06:30 AM by Scanian

Newsrooms and hospitals have one major thing in common: the “hush” is the loudest thing anyone ever hears. The “hush” is the moment when normal activity stops cold for an announcement of major events that will entirely reshape any usual activity. While both newsrooms and hospitals stop on that kind of news — and then, following it, race into a whirlwind of overdrive — the similarities end there.

Hospitals gird for the incoming and the flood of bad news to follow; most newsrooms do not. In a newsroom, tragic events are met with a different vibe: an electric jolt that energizes the room with a sense of self-importance.

The shot of adrenaline that surges through a newsroom is fascinating to watch. After the initial rush, the newsroom is never satisfied. There is a reason why the term “news junkie” exists; there is always the next twist, the next piece of fresh information, the next set of numbers (think of the alcohol shots of “news” that an election night provides with its changing and evolving big story).

That’s the backdrop of what took place on Saturday. The initial news breaks, the “what.” A shooting in a crowd in Arizona…might be, yes, now confirmed…a U.S. representative. Followed shortly by the scale of the attack, where it occurred, and the emergency response taking place. Once the “what” is established, then the other ws come into play. Journalists live by an old truism, the rule of ws — Who, What, When, Where, Why. The change to the profession over the past thirty-pluls years I have been in it is the last w, the “why.” The first four are always the easiest. Those were known within minutes of the story breaking. But the “why” takes time, and news in the 24/7 world of news today…

The counter-revolution has begun
The American Thinker Blog ^ | January 12, 2011 | James V. Capua

Surveying the stupefying spectacle of barefaced lies and weasly distortions, facile abandonment of previously-heralded high principle, cynical exploitation of pain and loss and official fatuousness, can we be blamed for asking: “What is going on here?

While there is nothing new in kind about the hysterical attacks on conservative political and media figures coming from every sector of the Establishment Left in the wake of the Tucson shootings, there does seem to be a big difference in intensity and quantity. It is everywhere; it is unrelenting, and “passionate intensity” does not even begin to capture its virulence.

A desperately frightened establishment is trying to stave off a revolt that began with the reaction to the health care bill and continued with the stunning 2010 midterm elections. To understand the dynamics of revolt and counter revolution, where better to turn than the experts? Here is guidance from “the official website for Revolution newspaper, voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA“:

“To be clear, then, counter-revolution means active opposition to revolution, with the intent to destroy the revolution, revolutionary group, or individual.

“Those serious about making revolution must set and insist on standards for the revolutionary movement that favor revolution and oppose all forms of counter-revolution.

“There is a very important distinction that must be made between struggle, even sharp struggle, carried out in a principled way over differences in line and approach as opposed to wrecking activity which is objectively counter-revolutionary. Carrying out principled struggle is very different from efforts centered on spreading lies, innuendos, provocations which not only do not bring clarity but are designed to spread confusion and derail revolution…”

Sheriff Arpaio warns Sheriff Dupnik he’ll fight back if he starts attacking him

Sheriff Joe Arpaio warns Sheriff Dupnik that he’ll fight back if he starts attacking him. Sheriff Arpaio, of the pink underwear-mandating Tent City fame, came out swinging against renegade and conservative-slandering Sheriff Dupnik of nearby Pima County. In a TV interview, Arpaio said that he does not want to speak poorly of a fellow sheriff, but he promised to fight back hard against Dupnik if he so much as starts to launch personal attacks against him. In the revealing interview, Arpaio also confirmed how ideological Dupnik was and relayed a personal story of how Dupnik stood by and allowed vitriolic rhetoric and symbolism against him in his own county without expressing outrage.

“Hate Speech” and the Risks of Free Speech The Wrong Kind of Climate Control By Kieran Manjarrez

Hate Speech” and the Risks of Free Speech
The Wrong Kind of Climate Control
By Kieran Manjarrez
Global Research, January 11, 2011
As sure as rain follows upon dark clouds, the cry has gone up to “do something” about so-called hate speech. Fairly typical of the reactions to the shooting of Congreswoman Gifford and several others by Jared Loughner was ‘ Tikkun’s’ Rabbi Michael Lerner, who rhetorically intoned: “Isn’t it time for us to demand that our government investigate the violence-generating discourse of the racists and the haters?”

The Constitutional answer is: absolutely not! Lerner and those of like mind need to read — thrice and slowly — the words of James Madison on this very issue:

“There are … two methods of removing the causes of [political] faction: the one, by destroying the liberty which is essential to its existence; the other, by giving to every citizen the same opinions, the same passions, and the same interests.

“It could never be more truly said of the first remedy, than it was worse than the disease. Liberty is to faction what air is to fire, an aliment without which it instantly expires. But it could not be less folly to abolish liberty, which is essential to political life, because it nourishes faction, than it would be to wish the annihilation of air, which is essential to animal life, because it imparts to fire its destructive agency.

“The second expedient is as impracticable as the first would be unwise. As long as the reason of man continues fallible, and he is at liberty to exercise it, different opinions will be formed.” (Federalist Paper No. 10.)

What Lerner is urging, in modern form, is the revival of laws against sedition. The “protected values” (or in modern legal lingo, the “cognized groups”) may be different but the principle is the same: words which have a “tendency” to incite violence and/or threaten the security or wellbeing of … [insert your cherished value-of choice here]… need to be outlawed and criminally punished.

Whether enacted in 1789, 1918 or 2011, laws against sedition are inimicable to a free society; and no amount of spurious sociological “impact studies” (so-called) can change that constitutional fact.

What does it actually mean to call for government “investigation” of “violence-generating” speech?

The investigation part is fairly easy to answer: it means police and FBI agents keeping tabs of what you say, interviewing your neighbors about what do, getting warrants to poke into your reading habits and ultimately detaining you for further questioning. Such investigations inevitably entail what the Nazis called “block wardens” — neighbors and other snitches who make it their business to overhear your chat and take note of the books and guests you bring home. Already both the government and various interest groups have set up networks and web pages to recruit security-volunteers to poke around and keep an ear out for terrorism- or racist- generating violence.

What then is to be the casus for such inquisitions? What exactly is ‘violence-generating’ speech?

Will Arabic Become the Official Language of America?
Canada Free Press ^ | January 10, 2011 | Steven Simpson

Posted on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 12:28:12 AM by Omikronos2100

Since the Islamic atrocities perpetrated against the United States on September 11th 2001, a huge array of Arabic and Islamic terminology has entered the Anglo-American lexicon. With the current (and still undocumented) resident in the White House proudly affirming his Islamic heritage in Cairo and elsewhere, and the continuing prostration to the Muslims of America, is it only a matter of time before Arabic becomes the official (or secondary) language of America? And for that matter, will Islam become the de facto religion of this once great country?

Did Barack Obama’s Violent Rhetoric Inspire Mass Murder In Arizona?
A Time For Choosing ^ | January 10, 2011 | Gary P. Jackson

Posted on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 4:21:53 PM by 2ndDivisionVet

Well, using the very same standard the left wing, and their corrupt media partners have used to smear and slander Sarah Palin, all evidence says yes, Barack Obama may have very well inspired radical Marxist Jared Lee Loughner to commit mass murder.

As we reported earlier, Loughner has been fixated on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, one of the many victims, since at least 2007, long before the Tea Party was formed, or anyone knew who the hell Sarah Palin was.

Of course, seeing as how Loughner is against everything Sarah Palin and the Tea Party stand for, it’s highly unlikely he would have sought them out for inspiration anyway.

No, it’s more likely Jared Lee Loughner would be inspired by a fellow traveler, and a fellow Marxist, like Barack Obama.

Jim Hoft over at Gateway Pundit has compiled a short list of Obama’s “greatest hits” his strongest and most violent rhetoric:

** Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
** Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
** Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”

** Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard

** Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.”

** Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
** Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”

** Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”

** Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

Although there are undoubtedly more, we know of one case for certain where Obama’s rhetoric directly resulted in extreme violence. The “Mercenary Army” Hoft is referring to above are the purple shirted union thugs from the SEIU. As our readers know, SEIU chief Andy Stern is a top Obama adviser, and has made more visits so far to the White House than any other person. SEIU, the Service Employees Union International, is affiliated with another long term Obama supporting group, ACORN. Obama once worked for ACORN, actually training the violent street thug “rent-a-mobs” that ACORN employs.

In 2009, at the height of the heated town hall debates where America stood up and told the Obama regime they did NOT want government run health care, Obama gathered up his union thugs from the SEIU, and told them to “hit back twice as hard“!

The direct result of Obama’s violent rhetoric was the severe beating of Kenneth Gladney, a black man, at a St. Louis town hall meeting. Gladney was beaten by a large group of the purple shirted union thugs, and called a n*gg*r numerous times. Gladney was beaten so severely that he was confined to a wheel chair while he recuperated. Big Government has the nasty details of the results of Barack Obama’s direct call for violence, here.

If You Thought The Second Amendment…
The Market Ticker ^ | 1/11/11 | Karl Denninger

Posted on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 7:23:11 PM by FromLori

was under fire, wait until you see what they have in mind for The First!

Rep. Brady (D – PA) has promised to introduce new legislation to criminalize any political speech which could be perceived as incendiary, and other Democrats suggested that there should be a blanket ban on all speech and symbols which might be conceivably interpreted as incendiary against members of Congress.

Of course the Courts are unlikely to agree with this, considering that The First Amendment, when it involves political speech, is pretty much a blank check and always has been – with good reason.

So that which they cannot get with the law, they instead turn to violating the Constitution by other means!

Rep. Louise Slaughter (D – NY) insisted that the FCC should work hard to restrict political speech that “could incite people,” adding that “no one owns the airwaves” and that she clearly felt the FCC was not doing enough to regulate political commentary nor to sanction those whose criticism were unacceptable to her.

By the way, if you’re wondering how freedom dies…. you’re seeing it.

Why is it now that we’re seeing this sort of reaction, and why is it that we have Congressfolk trying to introduce what amount to a bill granting Titles of Nobility, which are, I remind you, explicitly barred under The Constitution?

If it’s illegal to make a death threat against The President (it is), or a sitting Congressperson (it is), or a Judge (it is), then it should be equally unlawful and result in the same prosecution if someone makes the same threat aimed toward you or I.

Oh yeah, we had that too. The Tucson shooter allegedly made several death threats – against the Pima College administration, against talk show hosts in the area, and against bloggers.

All of which The Sheriff of Pima County refused to refer to the DA and file charges to prosecute.

Finally, for their part The Left never, ever posts in a public place a picture of, say, Ms. Palin about to blow her own brains out and proclaims “I hate it when I wake up and Sarah Palin is still alive”, right?

They hyped to a pool of 300 million Americans over and over again that a deranged tea partier is going to gun politicians down. Then, a highly suggestible paranoid schizophrenic acts on the hype and the media instantly blames the tea party.

Would crackdown on language include Obama?
Plan would ban words, symbols that could be perceived as threat

Robert Brady

A Democrat who has pursued a wide range of leftist causes and has drawn the praise of ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now wants to ban language and symbols that could be used to perceive a threat against a federal official.

So the question is whether it would allow statements such as:

  • “So I know whose ass to kick.”
  • “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”
  • and “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry. I’m angry.”

That’s because those statements all come from Barack Obama.

CNN’s Mark Preston carried the report when Rep. Robert Brady, a Pennsylvania Democrat who consistently has been rated “A” or 100 percent by the left-leaning AFL-CIO, NAACP, National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, Human Rights Campaign and others, said after the fatal shooting of six in Tucson, Ariz., in which Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., was hurt, that he would propose a ban on using language or symbols that even could be perceived as threatening.

(Story continues below)

“The president is a federal official,” Brady told the network. “You can’t do it to him; you should not be able to do it to a congressman, senator or federal judge.”

But a blog called the Right Perspective has assembled a list of statements coming from the White House.

In one, Obama is bragging about his efforts to jump onto the Gulf oil spill issues immediately to track down those who are in the industry or regulate it and might be responsible.

He is the President. For the last two years, he has set the national tone for hate speech in this country. For example, the president said a White Cambridge police acted ‘stupidly’ when the officer arrests a Black College professor for not cooperating with a break in investigation. The backlash to the president’s remarks force him to stage an even more ridiculous “beer summit” where the nation’s racial wounds were supposedly healed.

But not a chance, not even the racial wounds that the president inflicted on the nation himself were healed by beers on the White house lawn. Yet in spite of the president’s participation which, helped create the political atmosphere that produced a Jared Lee Loughner the Left wing in the nation has chosen to politicize this tragic shooting and is calling for unconstitutional defiance of the 2nd amendment by asking for more restrictions on guns instead of dealing with it’s own hate issues.

Arizona Sheriff Blasts Rush Limbaugh for Spewing ‘Irresponsible’ Vitriol (Keep It Up Sheriff!)

The Arizona sheriff investigating the Tucson shooting that left U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords critically wounded had harsh words today for those engaging in political rhetoric, calling conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh “irresponsible” for continuing the vitriol.

“The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information,” Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said today. “[Limbaugh] attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences.”

Limbaugh today railed against the media and Dupnik for trying to draw a link between the heated political climate and the shooting rampage, calling the sheriff a “fool.” But Dupnik stood by his assertions.

“The vitriol affects the [unstable] personality that we are talking about,” he said. “You can say, ‘Oh no, it doesn’t,’ but my opinion is that it does.”

If the Left is Serious About “Toning Down the Rhetoric,” It Can Start at the White House

If the left-wing is sincere about “toning down the rhetoric,” they can start in their own house with the president they voted into office. Beginning with his 2008 campaign for president, Obama has been using the kind of rhetoric conservatives have now been accused of encouraging the Arizona massacre with. He told a Philadelphia audience in the fall of that year how he would counter Republican attacks: “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” This was preceded by his now famous comments to a San Francisco fundraiser in the spring of 2008, explaining that low income rural Americans are “bitter” and “cling to their guns and their bibles.”

“If FR dies, that’s that.” – Jim Robinson

FYI -

Here are statements from Jim about the future of FreeRepublic.com for those who missed them. They are quite serious.

“Well, I can say that there are definitely two things that will never happen. 1) Banner ads. 2) Oracle [a completely new database system.] And a third is a total replacement [of the current damaged system.] Don’t have the financial wherewithal.”

“To those who wish to leave because of it, see ya.”

“If FR dies, that’s that.”

[To: paulycy]

Hey, you want us to get an all new system with all new software and add a few more pricey techs, system programmers and database administrators to keep it all working 100% of the time 24/7/365? Well, start coughing up the big bucks.

It’s going to take tens of thousands of donations and many with at least three zeros each after the comma to accomplish the task. And that would be EVERY month like clock work to make the payroll. Once you take on a big load of expensive overhead, there’s no going back. As it is, we get a couple thousand donations per quarter averaging about $30 bucks each and there’s no guarantees we can cover this quarter’s expenses much less next quarter. We’re on a pay as we go system and we have zero employees. We just ask for enough to pay the bills.

THE ATTACK IN TUCSON
boblonsberry.com ^ | 01/09/10 | Bob Lonsberry

Posted on Monday, January 10, 2011 8:45:01 AM by shortstop

They died in the service of our country.

The judge, the little girl, the congressional staffer. The three people in their 70s.

They all died in the name of American liberty. Just as assuredly as if they were casualties on a foreign battlefield.

They were killed by the evil which is the sworn enemy of our freedom and this Republic. In the guise of the terrorists on September 11th, or the Japanese at Pearl Harbor, or a monster with a gun at a Tucson supermarket, it is all the same. Different faces of the same beast. All attacks on us and what we hold dear.

The Speaker almost had it right.

An attack on one who serves is not just an attack on all who serve – it is an attack on all who are served.

A member of Congress is called a representative, and on Saturday morning Gabrielle Giffords was not just a representative of the 8th District of Arizona, she was a representative of us all and of our nation. She was engaged in her duties as an officer of our Constitution, she was there representing the United States of America.

And that is what was attacked.

In those duties, on that errand, fulfilling those responsibilities, violence born of evil or insanity was rained down upon her. It was not about her, it was about us, all of us, and the Republic which for more than two centuries our ancestors have jealously defended.

America was attacked, and in the wounding of Gabrielle Giffords, its defender was felled. Just as assuredly as if she had been in our uniform, in our military, on our bidding. Because she, like those in our military, swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.

And that is what she was doing Saturday morning at the Safeway.

She was making certain that the people of Arizona had face-to-face access to their federal government. She was keeping open the doors of communication by opening them herself. She was not a politician, she was an officeholder, and she was there in her official capacity.

And she stood shoulder to shoulder with 300 million other Americans as she did so.

She was literally wounded in our service. Just like Abraham Lincoln and William McKinley and James A. Garfield. Lincoln was shot by a man who resented his successes as commander in chief, McKinley was shot by an anarchist who hated all government, and Garfield was shot by a man who supported his political opponents. These were political shootings, and so was the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords.

America’s Next Failure: the Police State
By Prof John Kozy
Global Research, January 6, 2011

Every police force in the nation has cold (unsolved) cases. The War on Drugs has been ineffective for more than forty years. No one knows where a vast number of illegal immigrants even are. The CIA has been unable to locate Osama bin Laden after more than ten years of searching. Your local police cannot protect you from burglaries, drive by shootings, rapes, domestic abuse, or murder—even with the help of most ordinary citizens. The situation is so bad that numerous legislatures have legalized the carrying of loaded weapons so that ordinary people can protect themselves which is a complete abdication of the usual view that people should not take the law into their own hands. So what in the world would make anyone believe that policing can protect us from terrorists?

Suppose you were a person who painted the exteriors of houses, and that one August afternoon you were close to completing a job when you noticed a thunderstorm looming. Suppose you looked around and saw a police car coming down the street, flagged it down, and asked the policemen to help you finish the job before the storm hit. What reaction do you think you’d get? Do you think you’d get any help?

Now consider this: A person is caught by a surveillance camera robbing a convenience store. The police send the tape to the local television stations, and on the next newscast, the tape is broadcast and viewers are asked to help identify the robber. Say what?

What distinguished this situation from the one described in the first paragraph? The police expect the public to help them do their jobs, but the public cannot expect help from the police. Am I the only person who finds this situation odd?

Things are even worse. Have you ever had your home burglarized? I have. When the police arrived after my call, they dutifully wrote a report. When it was handed to me, one of the officers said, “You realize that all we are going to do is file the report” and advised me to file an insurance claim. Why don’t they tell that to the convenience store’s owner instead of asking the public for help?

Arizona Massacre Prompts Political ‘Cheap Shots’
Fox News ^ | 1/10/2011 | By James Rosen

Posted on Monday, January 10, 2011 8:15:16 AM by tobyhill

When Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords collapsed outside the Safeway in Tucson Saturday morning, felled by a hail of bullets that killed six and wounded another 13 innocent people that had come to see her, some were quick to claim that the carnage was the product not merely of the tortured mind and trigger-happy fingers of the alleged shooter, 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner.

Rather, many on the American Left said the horror could be traced to the malign influence of American conservatives; members of the Tea Party; right-wing pundits Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck; former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin; and Fox News.

AND WHAT SHOULD “WE THE PEOPLE” DO ABOUT IT?

January 9, 2011

Sen. Warren G. Harding of Ohio originated the term “Founding Fathers” in his address to the 1916 Republican National Convention. Harding ran for and was elected to the office of President of the United States in 1920.

To the Editor:

Every concerned American should read carefully the following article posted at The Daily Pen in which the following statement is made:

The legal tactics employed by the Obama machine are specifically designed…to discourage challenges to Obama’s fraudulent occupation of the White House…

In my opinion, the most important statement in the whole article appears in fact number 13 in a list of twenty-eight indisputable facts associated with the 2008 Hawaii presidential election fraud:

the Democratic National Committee, headed by Nancy Pelosi, committed election fraud and violated the Constitutional right(s) of the people of the state of Hawaii” (and all Americans).

The media and democrats want us to focus on the nation’s “caustic political climate” after the tragedy yesterday. Maybe they should start with President Obama. He may be the worst offender.

** Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”

** Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”

** Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard

** Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat
