I’ve yet to find any legal expert who seems to believe that the law actually says this anywhere. In the interview, John Moe asked Agent Hayes a very simple question: given that these domains were all seized based solely on the fact that they link to infringing content hosted elsewhere, and all of the same content is also linked from Google, will the Feds seize Google’s domain name?
Well, more specifically, Moe asks if ICE could seize Google’s domain name. Amusingly, right after being asked, Hayes conveniently gets cut off, but he does call back and the question is asked again………………………..

Let Politicians Suffer the Consequences of Ruining America’s Credit

Lower the debt ceiling big faux debate in Washington these days is whether or not the federal debt limit should be raised. Congress needs to pass a new law each time the government reaches its previous limit on how much money it can borrow.
Over the past 70 years, they have raised it more than once a year on average. In other words, the debt limit is not a limit at all. It’s just a formality. It’s as if you set yourself a goal to have a balance of less than $3,000 on your credit card bills. Then, after reaching $3,000, you adjust your goal to $3,500, then $4,000, and so on. You will eventually reach the credit card’s externally imposed limit.
But what’s the external limit on America’s debt capacity? The government currently owes about $14 trillion. Could they borrow $100 trillion? That’s approximately the total amount of wealth on earth. If everybody sold everything they owned at current market value and paid off all their own debts, they would have about $100 trillion or so that they could then lend to the federal government of America. But if everybody sold everything, who would buy it? The only entity with cash: the federal government.
In other words, all of humanity would end up with no property except IOUs from a consortium of politicians. Maybe that’s what they have in mind. The debt limit game is not confined to either of the two major government parties. Democrats and Republicans alike vote to raise the limit, raise spending, raise taxes, raise troops and raze countries. This year, Republicans are making a big deal over the debt ceiling. But it is a fake argument and not a principled stand — the same way Congress initially voted against the $700 billion…

When spies give military secrets to a foreign power, it’s espionage. When an American president does it, betraying an ally to befriend a longtime foe, what do we call it?
According to diplomatic cables obtained by Britain’s Daily Telegraph, mined from the thousands of classified documents released by WikiLeaks, the U.S. government agreed to provide Russia with information on the British nuclear deterrent as part of the deal behind the ratification and signing of the New START treaty.Specifically, the Telegraph reports, the U.S. provided Moscow with the serial numbers of each Trident missile in the British ballistic missile submarine inventory.
The Russians presumably already know how many Tridents the British have but can’t be sure. British policy has been to refuse to confirm the exact size of its relatively tiny arsenal.Last year, British Foreign Secretary William Hague disclosed that Britain had “up to 160″ warheads operational at any one time, but he did not disclose the total number of missiles and warheads in its nuclear inventory.
Duncan Lennox, editor of Jane’s Strategic Weapons Systems, says: “They want to find out whether Britain has more missiles than we say we have, and having the unique identifiers might help them
The State Department denies this, and spokesman P.J. Crowley said via Twitter that the U.S. simply “carried forward requirement to notify Russia about U.S.-UK nuclear cooperation from the 1991 treaty.” So why did we, according to the Telegraph, have to ask Britain in 2009 for permission with detailed and classified information on the British Tridents, permission that was reportedly denied?

Beck blasts Kristol: ‘Do anything to keep their little fiefdom together’Politico ^ | February 7, 2011 | Ben SmithPosted on Monday, February 07, 2011 4:19:36 PM by rightwingintelligentsiaFox News’s Glenn Beck lashed out at Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol on his radio show this morning, accusing Kristol of betraying conservatism and missing the significance of what Beck sees as an alliance between Islamism and socialism.
“I don’t even know if you understand what conservatives are anymore, Billy,” Beck said in his extended, sarcastic attack on Kristol. “People like Bill Kristol, I don’t think they stand for anything any more. All they stand for is power. They’ll do anything to keep their little fiefdom together, and they’ll do anything to keep the Republican power entrenched.”–snip–
Beck, in response, defended his broad theories by reading from the work of the Muslim writer Zudhi Jasser, a sharp critic of most Muslim leaders, to argue of the threat from “Islamic socialism.” He also accused Kristol of propping up Hosni Mubarak, of being stuck in 1973, and of failing to see that “we are fighting the forces of evil on this planet.”
“I think he’s still trying to get Bob Dole elected, i’m not really sure,” said Beck.Excerpt Read more at politico.com …

Pelosi: O’Reilly question to Obama on hate ‘completely inappropriate’The Hill ^ | Michael O’BrienPosted on Monday, February 07, 2011 1:59:48 PM by JustahamIt was “completely inappropriate” for Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly to ask President Obama about the people who “hate” him, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi D-Calif. said Monday.
Pelosi said O’Reilly’s question, during an interview before Sunday’s Super Bowl, made her wince upon hearing it again on Monday.”Just seeing it again … I thought was a completely inappropriate question, of course beautifully handled by the president,” Pelosi told host Gayle King on the Oprah Radio network.
“To hear this used in the presence of the president of the United States — I think we all have to recognize that while we disagree with people, and may think that they are wrong,” the word “hate” should never be used, Pelosi said.O’Reilly’s question has been one of the most replayed on Monday.
“Does it disturb you that so many people hate you?” O’Reilly asked Obama.”The people who dislike you don’t know you,” Obama responded. “The folks who hate you don’t know you; what they hate is whatever funhouse mirror image of you is out there.”The interview was a coup for the Fox host and his network, which has sparred sometimes with the Obama administration and earned public enmity from the president at times during the last two years.
Obama’s interview, broadcast on Fox, was his third straight year of doing a pre-Super Bowl interview. He sat for an interview with CBS last year, and NBC the year before that.Pelosi said it was her preference that the word “hate” never be used in a political context.Excerpt Read more at thehill.com …

This is the conclusion of our 5-part series on libertarianism. You may receive the other 4 by emailing us at offgridblogger@msn.com.We cannot miss the similarities between libertarianism and liberalism. It is not accidental that they have the same root word. Among the similarities is that both systems are at war with God—as are communism, humanism, and other non-theistic worldviews.
As we pointed out last week in our blogmail, not all libertarians are atheists. Many are agnostic. History teaches that tyranny begins with eliminating God.Excerpt Read more at offgridblogger.wordpress.com …

Just heard Martha “balloon head” McCallum interviewing Bill O’Really on his “earth shattering” Zero love fest.Billie said that people on Blogs are mentally ill. He also said that he told Zero that Beck and Hannity may think he is a bad President, but there were plenty at FOX that support him.
had just finished a hit on Sarah. So she was ready for the attacks on the conservatives. The only observation that O’Really conceded was that Zero is self-absorbed and that he will not move from his own reality. narcissist never doMartha tried to agree with O’Really that Zero’s observation that the WORST part of his job was his lack of privacy. sending young people to WAR no biggie She pointed out that O’Really asked what “personal” problems were the worst.Frankly, I would find it PERSONALLY gut wrenching to send young people in harms way. But that just me.
All in all, I hope that Beck was listening to O’reallys interview. I never understood or understand Becks alliance with O’Really.Anyone that believes O’Really gives a RATS behind as to what Americans think is smoking funny cigs. Maybe he is busy sexting some poor woman again.

Now That The Super Bowl Is Over, Here Are 17 Facts Which Prove America Is A Debt Pig That Is Deeply Addicted To Debt-Fueled Prosperity
Wasn’t the Super Bowl wonderful this year? Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers! It is amazing how much money people will spend to attend this game each year. Just a few hours before kickoff, some tickets were selling for over $4000 a seat. Not that it wasn’t a great show. It turned out to be a really great game and it was held in perhaps the most extravagant sports facility ever constructed in the history of mankind.
Even the halftime show, featuring the Black Eyed Peas, was a spectacle of historic proportions. This year the Super Bowl truly was quite a grand party. In America, everything always has to be bigger and better. We take pride in constantly outdoing ourselves.
Other nations of the world look at our great prosperity in envy. But do we ever stop to ask ourselves where all of this great prosperity has come from and if we can continue to afford it all?The sad truth is that we were once the wealthiest, most prosperous nation on the planet, but now we are deeply drowning in debt. America has become a debt pig that is deeply addicted to debt-fueled prosperity. We had more than any other nation on the planet by far, but that was never good enough for us.
We always had to have more. So we borrowed and borrowed and borrowed. Now, average household debt is far larger than average household income, state and local governments across the nation are on the verge of default and our national government has piled up the biggest mountain of debt in the history of the world.

While our nation languishes amidst record food and energy prices, unprecedented underemployment including those excluded from the workforce and economic stagnation, crippling regulations, and an administration in contempt of two court decisions, the media would rather distract us with the Islamist uprising in Egypt. It is imperative that we keep up the pressure on Obama and the Democrats by denying them the opportunity to preclude our attention from more relevant and ominous domestic problems. On the other hand, there is one salient question that we should excogitate from Obama’s handling of the Egyptian insurgency.
If Obama is willing to listen to the protesters of a foreign country due to their grievances from high food and energy prices and an unresponsive government, shouldn’t he accede to the similar demands of his own citizens and resign immediately?

Is history repeating itself? Have the events of 1848 in Europe repeated themselves in the Arab World? Will 2011 see the same outcomes as 1848? Only the Arab people can decide. Their fate is in their hands, but they should learn from the mistakes of 1848 and seriously address the role of the capitalist class.
PART I The European Spring of 1848 and the Arab Spring of 2011 In 1848, revolutionary fervour broke across continental Europe. The waves of revolution were set in motion in France. It did not take long before the rest of Europe was hit with a tsunami of popular uprisings and revolts. Like a domino effect, country after country would be hit by revolt. Denmark, the German States, the Italian States, Belgium, Wallachia, and the Habsburg’s Austrian Empire would all be shaken by popular revolt. The bases of the European revolts were the same as those in the modern-day Arab World. Economic disparity, abuse of workers rights, and a lack of political equality were all causes for the wave of revolutions in 1848 Europe. Industrialization and economic and technological leaps were causing major socio-economic changes in European societies before and up to 1848. While in a very different historical context, this has also been occurring in today’s Arab World. In 19th Century Europe, fundamental economic changes, characterized by the consolidation of wealth, caused massive unemployment as well as the outbreak of famines. This has also occurred in recent years in the Arab World, largely as a result of the brunt of neo-liberal reforms and rising food prices. Anger over lack of employment, lack of opportunities, corrupt government practices, and rising bread and food prices have actually been igniting riots and protests in the Arab World, specifically those states around the Mediterranean Sea, for several years before 2011. These past riots and protests were preludes to the highly tense situations in Egypt, Tunisia, and the Arab World.
The French Revolution of 1848: Europe’s Tunisia or Iran? A new residency criterion was imposed in France by King Louis-Philip I who served the interests of big capital and was appropriately called the “Bourgeoisie King.” French citizens had to prove that they lived in a riding for three years. To prove residency, the French working class needed letters of authentication from their employers. Thus, the working class and an overwhelming majority of the French were disenfranchized from voting and held hostage by big capital. French workers would also migrate from one place and riding to another place and riding for employment, because of the changing economic conditions, which would also make qualification for voting impossible. Unemployment would grip France and there would be a massive surplus of labour that would be readily exploited by organized capital. These unbearable conditions would led to the French Revolution of 1848. In the French Revolution of 1789, the working class allied itself with big capital (big industry, the banking class, and landed property), but this would change in 1848. While big capital was fighting amongst itself, the working class was becoming an ally of the petty bourgeoisie in demanding a share in governing France and directing the course of French society. The House of Orléans was overthrown and the monarchy brought to a final end with the establishment of the Second French Republic. |

Ron Paul: How Foreign Aid Creates Instability and Isolates America
Ron PaulPrisonplanet.comFeb 7, 2011
The events in Egypt of late have captured the attention of the world as many thousands of Egyptians take to the streets both in opposition to and favor of the current regime. We watch from a distance hoping that events do not spiral further into violence which will destroy lives and threaten the livelihoods of average Egyptians caught up in the political turmoil. I hope that Egyptians are able to work toward a more free and just society. Unfortunately, much of the blame for the unrest in Egypt and the resulting instability in the region rests with U.S. foreign policy over the past several decades. The U.S. government has sent more than $60 billion to the Egyptian regime since the Camp David accords in 1978 to purchase stability, including more security for the state of Israel.
Stock up with Fresh Food that lasts with eFoodsDirect ADRon Paul: How Foreign Aid Creates Instability and Isolates America 250111banner1We see now the folly of our interventionist foreign policy. Not only has that stability fallen to pieces, with the current unrest, but the years of propping up the corrupt regime in Egypt has led the people to increase their resentment of both America and Israel. We are both worse off for the decades of the intervention in Egypt’s internal affairs. I wish I could say that we have learned our lesson and will no longer attempt to purchase or rent friends in the Middle East, but I am afraid that is being too optimistic. Already we see evidence that while the U.S. historically propped up the Egyptian regime, we also provided assistance to groups opposed to the regime. So we have lost the credibility to claim today that we support the self-determination of the Egyptian people. Our double dealing has not endeared us to the Egyptians who now seek to reclaim their independence and national dignity.Diplomacy via foreign aid transfer payments only makes us less safe at home and less trusted overseas, but the overriding reality is that we simply cannot afford to continue a policy of buying friends.
We face an ongoing and potentially deepening recession at home, so how can we justify to the underemployed and unemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire? Moral arguments aside, we must stop sending hundreds of billions of dollars to foreign governments when our own economy is in shambles.

Even as Christina Aguilera butchered the words to the American national anthem before the start of last night’s Super Bowl, the hard-fought freedoms recognized in that song were being eviscerated as hired goons conducted 4th Amendment busting pat downs on people entering the stadium. But if you think that was too invasive, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
As part of Homeland Security’s complete takeover of society, at future Super Bowls, TSA agents will get to interrogate you at special checkpoints which will use “physiological” and “behavioral” tests to determine if you’re a terrorist or a criminal.“Everyone entering the stadium must pass through a magnetometer, such as those used at airports, and get a pat down as part of the screening process. The majority of fans will enter through checkpoints on the east side of Cowboys Stadium,” reported the Dallas Star-Telegram on Friday.Big Sis seized upon the spectacle of the Super Bowl to saturate the public with the inherently fascist public-private partnership which has given birth to the “See Something, Say Something” monstrosity, the citizen snitch program that has wiped away any doubt that America is now a rotting banana republic.

Barack Obama was one sad sack of a president—his agenda repudiated by midterm voters, his political judgment scorned by commentators, his future darkened by a growing belief he might be a one-time president. In early February, Obama is master of the moment—his polls on the upswing, his political dexterity applauded by pundits, his status as Washington’s dominant figure unchallenged even by Republicans. This three-month metamorphosis says something about Obama’s survival skills, but the turnabout says even more about the mainstream media: Obama is playing the press like a fiddle. He is doing it by exploiting some of the most longstanding traits among reporters who cover politics and government—their favoritism for politicians perceived as ideologically centrist and willing to profess devotion to Washington’s oft-honored, rarely practiced civic religion of bipartisanship.
Time’s Mark Halperin has hailed Obama as “magnetic,” “distinguished,” and “inspiring” – in one story. ABC’s Christiane Amanpour saw “Reaganesque” optimism and “Kennedyesque” encouragement – all in one speech. Howard Fineman, the former Newsweek columnist who now writes for the Huffington Post, said conductor Obama was now leading a “love train” through D.C.Excerpt Read more at politico.com …

Murray Rothbard once wrote that even the most brutal dictator ultimately bases his power on the opinions that are held by a majority of the population that is under his rule. After all, even dictators with large armies tend to be vastly outnumbered by the populations they rule over, and revolution is always on the dictator’s mind. That’s probably how he gained power himself in the first place — the previous dictator was, well, too dictatorial and created the conditions for his own overthrow.Democratic regimes also base their legitimacy on their ability to claim that their rule is “the will of the people.” They believe in democracy with all their will, they tell us, so much so that generations of American politicians have believed that it was legitimate to wage war on other nations and to kill thousands of their citizens to impose “democracy” on them. Lincoln’s armies killed some 300,000 fellow citizens and maimed for life an even greater number, supposedly so that “government of the people, by the people, for the people,” i.e., democracy, shall not perish from the earth.
This of course was pure B.S.: Had the South seceded peacefully, democracy would have still existed in the U.S., the Confederate States of America, Canada, England, France, etc., etc.
Nevertheless, that was an official purpose of the war, and of numerous other American wars. Woodrow Wilson brought America into World War I to supposedly “make the world safe for democracy.” We are now supposedly bringing democracy to Iraq at bayonet point with numerous other Middle East countries in our sights.
Why is China building eerie ‘ghost cities’?

Why is China constructing large, well-designed “ghost cities” that are completely devoid of people?China’s empty roads source: Business InsiderJerome Corsi’s Red Alert reports Google Earth photographs of China depict city after city of vast complexes consisting of office skyscrapers, government buildings, apartment buildings, residential towers and homes, all connected by networks of empty roads – with some of the cities located in China’s truly most inhospitable locations.Images of these “ghost cities” – after countless billions of dollars have been spent on the towns’ design and construction – reveal nobody lives in them.Story continues below “The photographs look like giant movie sets prepared to film apocalyptic motion pictures in which some sort of a neutron war or bizarre natural disaster has eliminated people from the face of the earth while leaving the skyscrapers, sports stadiums, parks and roads perfectly intact,” Corsi noted.
“One of China’s ghost cities is actually built in the middle of a desert in Inner Mongolia.”Business Insider ran a series of photos of these Chinese ghost cities. One showed no cars in the city except for approximately 100 parked in largely empty lots clustered around a government building, and another showed a beautiful wetland park with people added using Photoshop.
