In September of 2008, the Michigan Law Review published an article by Lawrence Solum, the John E. Cribbet Professor of Law at the University of Illinois College of Law, entitled, “Originalism and the Natural Born Citizen Clause”.
The article focused upon the issue of whether John McCain was eligible to be President despite his birth in Panama. The article did not even mention Barack Obama. The direct citation is Michigan Law Review:

“What was the original public meaning of the phrase that establishes the eligibility for the office of President of the United States? There is general agreement on the core of its meaning. Anyone born on American soil whose parents are citizens of the United States is a ‘natural born citizen.’”
Emphasis added. According to this reference, there is general agreement that the core meaning of the natural born citizen clause = born in the US to parents who are citizens
According to Solum back in September 08, anyone who doesn’t fit that description, like McCain, falls into a “twilight zone” of eligibility. This interesting choice of words mimics the US Supreme Court’s “doubts” expressed in Minor v. Happersett: “At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also.
These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents.
As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first.” Emphasis added.Solum’s definition of the core meaning of natural born citizen seems to be taken directly from the SCOTUS in Minor.
Solum then goes on to analyze McCain’s eligibility and concludes that there is no clear answer as to whether McCain was eligible to be President.CUT TO… OCTOBER 27th 2008.Solum published the original article in September 2008.

They respond with something like this: “Whatever it takes to attain fairness.” When asked if a tax rate of 95% could be justified, they respond with a resounding “Yes!”
Further probing reveals their core beliefs. Thinking in terms of groups, classes and races, they believe that the state, collective, society, and common good are more important than the individual.
Accordingly, they do not think that government force should be restricted…….

The Southern Poverty Law Center has a history of declaring any protest group it sees as “anti-government” as an “extremist” hate group, without justification.
Today it continues that trend with the publication of yet another report that throws in We Are Change members nationwide with racist Neo Nazi groups and Ku Klux Klan factions.
The SPLC’s annual report, entitled “The Year in Hate & Extremism, 2010″, is being touted as material for mainstream media headlines such as “Anti-government extremist groups on rise in US: study”, and “Survey: more US hate groups than ever before”.
Of course, if you contend that everything, including peaceful protest and citizen journalism is “extremist”, then you are assured to find that “extremism” is most definitely on the rise………………

Like most of you, I realize you can’t agree with every TV or radio talk show host on every issue. However, we see the push and necessity to support our own and lift the banner of conservative common sense high, especially with this radical regime in the White House.
As a national radio talk show host therothshow.com, I realize all too much the sound bite theatre, ratings pressure and competition, even jealousy among radio and TV hosts. I am a growing host and have done national radio and TV for years…I understand ego. At the very least hosts want to keep their jobs, grow big and make lots of money during their careers.

Back in the American Wild West, federal and state governments often put a price on the heads of infamous outlaws like Billy the Kid, Jesse James, Sam Bass, Belle Star and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.Today, our government is not so selective.
It’s seeking to put a price on the head of every American. Not because they’ve robbed a train, but for a different reason that could lead to a very bad end.Various government agencies have come up with formulas for determining how much we are worth.
The Environmental Protection Agency EPA has set the value of a human life at $9.1 million. It reached this determination while proposing tighter restrictions on air pollution. During the Bush administration, EPA calculated our value at $6.8 million. Was the difference in price caused by inflation? The EPA didn’t say.
The Food and Drug Administration FDA arrived at its own figure for the value of an American life. It says each life is worth $7.9 million. That, too, is an increase from the $5 million value FDA had assigned each human American life in 2008. The agency calculated our value while proposing new and tougher warning labels on cigarettes that include pictures of cancer victims.
The Transportation Department — yes, Transportation — put our worth at $6 million while seeking to justify recent decisions to impose regulations the Bush administration had rejected as too costly, such as stronger roofs on cars.
It’s nice to know that our government values its citizens beyond what it can extract in taxes. But given the Obama administration’s likely pursuit of health care rationing Dr. Donald Berwick, a wealth redistributionist who heads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, is a proponent of rationed care it is easy to forecast where this could lead should human life be regarded as having only that value placed upon it by government, or an agent of the state.
The beauty of our form of government is that it begins, not with government, but with us: “We the People.” In our Declaration of Independence from Britain, there is a clause that sets us apart from virtually all other nations. Instead of……………………..

Col. Ralph Peters says Obama fails the US, human rights, and the cause of freedom. Col. Ralph Peters has, as the years of Barack Obama’s first term have worn on, become one of the most blunt and absolute critics of the president, especially with regards to the president’s mismanagement of the image of the US around the world.
The all-hell-breaking-loose catastrophe in Libya is motivating the colonel to launch another round of criticism against the president. Yesterday, after first giving props to Rahm Emmanuel for his Chicago mayoral win and standing by quietly for days as Muammar Gaddafi mass-murdered his own people, Obama finally came out of his shell to address the Libya slaughter.
However, in Peters’ words, Obama even failed there, as he was “mega-wimpy” when addressing Gaddafi.
