Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, If He Had Been More Honest by Gary North
Back in 1776, a group of regional politicians launched an illegal revolt in North America to create a far more lucrative tax jurisdiction, which was then sold to the voters by the marketing slogan of “liberty.”
It was officially dedicated to the proposition that all males are created equal, other than kidnapped Africans and their descendants.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether this tax jurisdiction, or any tax jurisdiction so justified and so marketed, can long endure, especially in the face of another group of regional politicians who are trying to pull off a similar stunt in the name of the same slogan.
We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for members of the Union Army who here gave their lives, that this tax jurisdiction might expand.
It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate – we can not consecrate – we can not sanctify this ground.
Half of the brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract.
The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.
It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which half of those who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.
It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us – that from these honored dead, we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion – that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain – that this jurisdiction, under penalty of perjury, shall have a new birth of revenues, and that government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations, shall not perish from the earth……..

Can Japan Rise Again? by Patrick J. Buchanan
We can thank Providence that the earthquake was not 150 miles closer to Tokyo, else Japan’s dead might number in the millions.Prime Minister Naoto Kan calls it the worst crisis since World War II.
Yet, horrendous as it is, it does not, thus far, compare with that. For the earthquake dead are not 1 percent of those who perished in World War II.
Between 1942 and 1945, Japan was stripped naked of an empire that embraced Formosa, Korea, Manchuria, the entire China coast, all of French Indochina Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Singapore, the Dutch East Indies Indonesia, the Philippines and the Western Pacific out to Guam and south to Guadalcanal.
She sustained 2 million military dead and 500,000 to a million civilian dead under U.S. carpet-bombing that reduced her great cities to smoldering rubble and Hiroshima and Nagasaki to atomic ash.Yet, 25 years after the most devastating defeat in modern history, Japan boasted the second largest and most dynamic economy on earth.
Under the proconsulship of Gen. MacArthur, Japan rose to her feet, renounced war and reached an annual growth rate of 10 percent by the 1960s, 5 percent in the 1970s, 4 percent in the 1980s. Smaller than Montana and with fewer resources, she created an economy half as large as the U.S. and in many ways technologically superior.
An extraordinary accomplishment of an extraordinary people. At the end of the 1980s, Japan seemed poised to surpass America.
It did not happen……………
Herman Cain: ‘It’s Not Planned Parenthood — No, It’s Planned Genocide’
Likely Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain supports ending all federal funding to Planned Parenthood, an abortion business that he said was founded to target African Americans and is continuing that mission.
“Here’s why I support de-funding Planned Parenthood, because you don’t hear a lot of people talking about this, when Margaret Sanger – check my history – started Planned Parenthood, the objective was to put these centers in primarily black communities so they could help kill black babies before they came into the world,” Cain told CNSNews.com on Tuesday when speaking at the conservative Heritage Foundation.Cain’s comment was in response to a question from CNSNews.com about whether the Republican-controlled Congress should vote against any federal tax dollars for Planned Parenthood.“You don’t see that talked that much about,” said Cain.
“It’s not Planned Parenthood. No, it’s planned genocide. You can quote me on that.”

14 Reasons Why The Economic Collapse Of Japan Has Begun
Just think about what happened after Hurricane Katrina. Did the economy of New Orleans bounce right back? No, there are some areas of New Orleans today that still look like war zones.Well, this disaster is much worse. The truth is that this is going to be one of the defining moments in the history of Japan. Hundreds of miles along the coast of Japan have been absolutely devastated.
Authorities are finding it difficult to even get food and water into some areas at this point.Even before this great tragedy Japan was one of the nations that was on the verge of a national economic collapse. Their economy had been in the doldrums for over a decade and their national debt was well over 200 percent of GDP. Now the Japanese economy has experienced a shock from which it may never truly recover. The Bank of Japan is already flooding the Japanese economy with new yen, and so we may indeed see some impressive “economic growth” statistics at the end of the year.
But just because lots more yen are being passed around does not mean that the Japanese economy is in better shape. The truth is that a tsunami of yen is not going to undo the damage that the tsunami of water did. A massive amount of Japanese wealth was wiped out by this disaster. An economy that was already teetering on the brink is now very likely going to plunge into oblivion. It is fine to be optimistic, but the cold, hard reality of the situation is that this is a knockout blow for the Japanese economy. The extent of the devastation is just too great. This truly is a complete and total nightmare.

Department of Education’s Orwellian Plans
The U.S. Department of Education does not serve any clear purpose. The Constitution leaves education to state governments as a residual power. In our history, that did not mean states had to provide education to children at taxpayer expense, although that was the rule throughout the states, at least to a certain age.
Only very gradually did the policy of mandatory education spread across the nation, and during those decades in the latter part of the 19th century when education through public grade school became compulsory, it was recognized that parents had the right to to choose instead to educate their children at home, or in private or religious schools.
Religious education has always been a crucial part of the education of the young. Learning in the Middle Ages was preserved through clerics — members of religious orders, which we have come think of as the “clerks” of today. Universities in Europe were all religious.
The first people to have universal male literacy were the Jews, and the reason had little to do with secular learning. All Jewish boys were expected to be able to read the Torah. The first nation on earth that had universal literacy for boys and girls and for rich and poor was Scotland, and the reason was utterly theological: Scottish Calvinists believed it was a sacred duty to teach all children to read the Bible. Although the responsibility for that teaching fell upon the community, it fell primarily upon the churches……………………
Hidden WWII Military Base in California
This is a version of special effects during the 1940′s. I have never seen these pictures or knew that we had gone this far to protect ourselves. During World War II the Army Corps of Engineers needed to hide the Lockheed Burbank Aircraft Plant to protect it from a possible Japanese air attack.
They covered it with camouflage netting to make it look like a rural subdivision from the air.Excerpt Read more at stories-etc.com …
U.S. Government Blocking Americans From Obtaining Potassium Iodide?
U.S. health authorities could be blocking Americans from obtaining the radiation-fighting drug potassium iodide, even as the threat of a radioactive cloud from the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant affecting the United States prompts panic buying, which has led to stocks of the drug running out across the country.High strength potassium iodide is a once-a-day-pill than protects the thyroid gland from radiation and cancer caused by radioactive iodine.
There are also weaker liquid forms of the drug that provide less protection, but supplies of these are also running low.A caller to The Alex Jones Show today related how he tried to obtain potassium iodide via prescription from his doctor having failed to buy it over the counter due to stocks being completely exhausted.“Yesterday afternoon roughly 1400PST, the Urgent Care in Ventura, California, denied me a prescription for KI potassium iodide: an over the counter, salt,” writes Michael surname withheld. “The reason for denying me a prescription was predicated upon the Doctors conversation, with both CDC and DHSC representatives, whom discouraged it. After asking her if she took government orders, she replied, “No, but I do take their recommendations.”………………….

Gunny G’s GLOBE AND ANCHOR Weblog: Israel Charged With Systematic Harassment of U.S. Marines
However, on Feb. 2 a unit of three Israeli tanks, led by Israeli Lt. Col. Rafi Landsberg, tried to pass through Marine/Lebanese Army lines at Rayan University Library in south Lebanon. By this time, Landsberg was no stranger to the Marines.
Since the beginning of January he had been leading small Israeli units in probes against the Marine lines, although such units would normally have a commander no higher than a sergeant or lieutenant. The suspicion grew that Sharon’s troops were deliberately provoking the Marines and Landsberg was there to see that things did not get out of hand.
The Israeli tactics were aimed more at forcing a joint U.S.-Israeli strategy than merely probing lines. In the Feb. 2 incident, the checkpoint was commanded by Marine Capt. Charles Johnson, who firmly refused permission for Landsberg to advance. When two of the Israeli tanks ignored his warning to halt, Johnson leaped on Landsberg’s tank with pistol drawn and demanded Landsberg and his tanks withdraw.
They did.11Landsberg and the Israeli embassy in Washington tried to laugh off the incident, implying that Johnson was a trigger-happy John Wayne type and that the media were exaggerating a routine event. Landsberg even went so far as to claim that he smelled alcohol on Johnson’s breath and that drunkenness must have clouded his reason.
Marines were infuriated because Johnson was well known as a teetotaler. Americans flocked to Johnson’s side. He received hundreds of letters from school children, former Marines and from Commandant Barrow.12 It was a losing battle for the Israelis and Landsberg soon dropped from sight.

The Malfeasance of Beck
Now, what does all of that mean, he just basically said, “I’m not saying anything, you didn’t hear nothing from me, but I think God is punishing us like he did Sodom and Gomorrah and everyone should please harden their focus on something or whatever and do nothing because it doesn’t matter, America sucks, we suck…
” Why does this guy get so much airtime? He is absolutely incompetent at his job. But what is his job, really? To give his opinion? He doesn’t have an opinion, he wants you to act on hints and allegations, and then steer you to the truth.
But there is so much symbolism and vaguery in his “lessons” he steers you down a two-tracker until you are so far in the middle of nowhere, you don’t actually know anything. I have said before that he is a leader, whether he likes it or not, or whether he admits it or not, and that is the whole truth. He will not accept responsibility for the people who trust him, follow him, and he throws out religious connections that are not connections, but parenthetical innuendo.

Cain: No Sharia in America
Herman Cain says Sharia law doesn’t belong in America.“I will allow, as President of the United States, them to practice their religion all they want. What I won’t allow is them for force their beliefs, their Sharia law, on the rest of us,” Cain told bloggers on a Monday night conference call.Cain, who recently launched a presidential exploratory committee, told bloggers a White House run is now almost certain.”My toe is no longer in the water, it’s all the way up to my neck,” he said.
The Sayonara Marines-Japan 1950s!: Middle Camp Fuji 1956
Does anyone out there know what has happened to Kenneth L. Brown, who wrote the play The Brig which was a hit in New York in the early sixties?
I was a reporter for the Triad, a young corporal in the the Marines HandS Co., Third Marines, Third Regiment, Third divsion at Middle Camp Fuji. I had landed at North Camp earlier in the year as an infantryman, and loved it, but wanted to get back into journalism, and i did. I have continued and am now a retired journalist.
I interviewed Ken while he was in the Brig, and we became friends when he got out. He too was in HandHs company, and then we all went on to Dingalen Bay, Lingayen Gulf, in the Philippines for Operation Beacon Hill. You may remember that President Ramon Magsaysay was killed in a copter crash while observing our maneuvers, the first u.s. forces operation there since the end of World War Two.
I have been able to get a copy of Kens earlier novel, called The Narrows, about when his New York Life before joining the Marines. He called me the Hick, because i was from a ranch near Yuma, Arizona, which is as close to Mexico as you can get down there. After Beacon Hill, i was posted with the rest of Battalion 3 at Okinawa, and Ken returned stateside and was discharged honorably. He was one of my drivers on Beacon Hill. We did our jobs, and had a lot of fun, too.

Rush Limbaugh: Criticism of Tea Party Will Create Whole New Tea Party Generation
So everything these people do is aimed at shutting us up, is aimed at intimidating us — and the thing that really ticks me off is when it works against our people, like it apparently is working in the House leadership now
“You keep going on this and you’re gonna lead to government shutdown, and you’re gonna get blamed for it.” “Oh, we don’t want a government shutdown, and we certainly don’t want to get blamed for it!” I hate it.
I hate it when they set the premise and we react to it. I just despise it. See, I don’t. I just refuse to. But living in Washington-New York apparently changes your attitude about that.

The Ten Commandments of the Antichrist
If you want to make an omelet, you have to be willing to break a few eggs. ~ LeninTo make sure you understand the diabolical consequences of Lenin‘s idea, the meaning is this:
start an international revolution under communism or state socialism, you must be willing to commit genocide everywhere it is established.Revolution, or death?
It ultimately means: revolution = death. In my study of history and philosophy, I have found that whenever one discusses progressivism or the ideas derivative of progressive politics, from Enlightenment Age philosophers whose ideas contributed to today’s progressive revolution – Machiavelli, Descartes, Hobbes, Voltaire, Rousseau, Robespierre – to the ideas concurrent with the advent of the progressive revolution in the 1880s – J.S. Mill, Marx, Social Darwinism, natural selection, survival of the fittest, eugenics invented by Darwin’s cousin Francis Galton and Nietzsche’s will to power and aristocracy paradigm – the leitmotiv is always the same: For the glory of the revolution, kill the inferior, cultivate the superior.
