President Barack Obama is resisting pressure to deliver an Oval Office speech explaining his policy on Libya — in part, because he doesn’t want to equate what he regards as a smaller, time-limited mission with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Administration officials haven’t ruled out a big speech, but Obama is reluctant to make a major address on Libya until the United States hands over most command and combat duties to its allies.

The man who couldn’t walk his dog without giving a speech now doesn’t want to give a speech because this war just isn’t worthy enough. What a leader.

And Krauthammer appears to have the nail on the head with this news just out:

NATO agreed to enforce a Libya no-fly zone on Thursday but fell short of a deal to take full command of military operations, and Western jets failed to stop government tanks re-entering Misrata to besiege its main hospital.

Our Nameless and Blameless President

Excusing Obama from any responsibility for Libya actually insults the man, when you think about it (which the Democrats will not bother to do.) What are the implications of Obama’s apparent cluelessness? Let’s consider the possibilities:

One implication is that Obama had nothing to do with missiles being dropped in Libya. But doesn’t this suggest that Obama is some sort of dimwit? (Of course, the Dems would be horrified at this insinuation since it’s a racist one.)

Another possibility is that the president is naive. Here, the affable Barack simply went on a well-deserved vacation, leaving the country in the hands of the Congress. These nefarious legislators went ahead and, behind his back, started a war. But doesn’t this intimate that Obama is a doe-eyed innocent?

Okay, then; another possibility is that Obama does know what’s going on, but he has deferred to the powerful McCain, Graham, and Lieberman. The peace-loving Obama did not want this war, but he gave in. Yet, what’s the implication here, that Obama is a 98-pound weakling?

Or perhaps Obama is just a victim of circumstances (yet again). The economy, Afghanistan, etc. etc. have nothing whatsoever to do with him. But doesn’t it defy logic that the President of the United States is a perpetual victim?

Frankly, what I read between the lines is the following: yes, Obama started a war, but the Democrats can’t mention his name because he is special. If mistakes or wars happen, Obama shouldn’t be held accountable. But isn’t this stance the most paternalistic and racist of all?

While the Left’s thinking is distorted and nonsensical, the tragedy is that most Obama supporters won’t care. The average liberal in the street will not change his or her views about Obama, no matter what he does.

And since Obama is never to blame, the left needs their boogeyman, and any conservative will neatly fit the bill. Usually it’s Sarah and Rush; today it’s Lieberman, et al. Meanwhile, Democrats have absolutely no qualms about coming across as paternalistic and, yes, racist, each time they let Obama off the hook.

Obama’s ‘birth hospital’ hides White House letter

Obama’s alleged birth hospital has locked in a storage vault a letter President Obama purportedly wrote to the hospital on Jan. 24, 2009, declaring it his birthplace.

For the past month, Hawaii State Senator Sam Slom, the only Republican in the Hawaiian State Senate, has been trying to get answers from Kapiolani Medical Center executives as to why the hospital has chosen to put under lock and key a letter from the White House that the hospital should have been proud to receive and display publicly.

In an email exchange with WND, Slom’s office staff confirmed that Martha Smith, the hospital’s chief operating officer, said a copy of the Obama letter is currently hung in the administrative section of the hospital, away from public view, while the original is stored for “safekeeping and preservation.”

It took a long time. And let’s throw into the mix that the administration of Bush never defended themselves. Karl Rove has now said that that’s one of the mistakes that he admits they made, wishes they could have a do over on that. But, regardless, everybody thinks that people are stupid. I’ll guarantee you I have people in the audience out there, Ed, who are just cheering you on. “Yeah, Americans are stupid, Rush! You have too much faith in people. He’s right. It’s fascinating that we’re going on into the third year of Obama’s presidency and not only has the issue of Obama’s birth certificate not died, but now a C-list celebrity like Donald Trump is starting to chip the fringe off of it…

Where does Donald get off making such demands about birth certificates?!? I know where…look at that comb over, if anyone deserves to issue demands of honesty from others it should certainly be from the guy who wears it on his skull.

Bottom line, it’s a fair question, especially since the left has been acting like such asses about the whole thing. Yeah the birthers are obnoxious too, but liberals could easily make fools of them by showing the damn piece of paper already.

By the way, is it just me or does anyone else think that Trump is only running for president so it can be the theme of the next season of The Apprentice?

Commerce: Lawmakers, bureaucrats and busybody groups have expressed reservations about AT&T’s plan to buy T-Mobile. Why should a voluntary, peaceful agreement between private groups be any of their concern?

AT&T, the country’s second-largest wireless carrier, has agreed to buy T-Mobile, the fourth-largest, for $39 billion. The combined company would become the biggest wireless carrier in the nation, serving more than 40% of the cellphone market.

But first, the deal must be OK’d by meddlesome legislators and useless regulators. The acquisition needs the approval of the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department, as well as the blessings of lawmakers who believe they have a right to manage private affairs.

One unnamed government source predicted “a steep climb.” No exaggeration there. The Hill has reported that a “diverse group of industry and public-interest figures is lining up to campaign against the proposed deal, which would create the nation’s largest wireless carrier.”

Among the opponents’ strategies is ” a wall-to-wall lobbying campaign” that includes “aggressive ad buys, events on Capitol Hill and the formation of a new coalition to try and scuttle it.”

Some in Congress won’t need to be lobbied. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat from Minnesota, has already told the FCC that she is “concerned that increased concentration” will lead “to fewer choices, higher prices and reduced service for wireless consumers.”

Meanwhile, Gigi B. Sohn, president and co-founder of Public Knowledge, says the deal is “unthinkable” and worries that the sale would lead to “higher prices, fewer choices, less innovation.”

It has been one year since Obamacare was signed into law.

…And the same could be said for the Washington Post, which has on its board: Lee Bollinger, the President of Columbia University and Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Warren Buffett, billionaire financial investor, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway; and individuals associated with (past or presently): the Coca-Cola Company, New York University, Conservation International, the Council on Foreign Relations, Xerox, Catalyst, Johnson & Johnson, Target Corporation, RAND Corporation, General Motors, and the Business Council, among others.

It is also important to address how the mainstream media is intertwined, often covertly and secretly, with the government. Carl Bernstein, one of the two Washington Post reporters who covered the Watergate scandal, revealed that there were over 400 American journalists who had “secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency.” Interestingly, “the use of journalists has been among the most productive means of intelligence-gathering employed by the CIA.” Among organizations which cooperated with the CIA were the “American Broadcasting Company, the National Broadcasting Company, the Associated Press, United Press International, Reuters, Hearst Newspapers, Scripps-Howard, Newsweek magazine, the Mutual Broadcasting System, the Miami Herald and the old Saturday Evening Post and New York Herald-Tribune.”

By far the most valuable of these associations, according to CIA officials, have been with the New York Times, CBS and Time Inc. The CIA even ran a training program “to teach its agents to be journalists,” who were “then placed in major news organizations with help from management.”

These types of relationships have continued in the decades since, although perhaps more covertly and quietly than before. For example, it was revealed in 2000 that during the NATO bombing of Kosovo, “several officers from the US Army’s 4th Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Group at Ft. Bragg worked in the news division at CNN’s Atlanta headquarters.” This same Army Psyop outfit had “planted stories in the U.S. media supporting the Reagan Administration’s Central America policies,” which was described by the Miami Herald as a “vast psychological warfare operation of the kind the military conducts to influence a population in enemy territory.” These Army PSYOP officers also worked at National Public Radio (NPR) at the same time. The Failure to Stand Up to Evil Leads to Insanity, Poverty and the Loss of All Our Rights

Preface: I am using the word “evil” in its secular sense in this essay, as in a horrible, destructive act … religion is beyond the scope of this essay.

When someone fails to stand up to a heinous act, that leads to a whole chain of events.

It Enables More Destructive Acts

Initially, by failing to stand up to the bad act, we are enabling the person who committed it to do bigger and worse things in the future.

Army psychiatrist and Christian philosopher M. Scott Peck wrote extensively on evil in People of the Lie (since Peck was a psychiatrist and an empirical researcher, his investigation of the dynamics of those who commit heinous acts and the subsequent attempts to cover them up is very interesting, even for atheists who will disregard all religious overtones). As Peck wrote:

It is necessary that we first draw the distinction between evil and ordinary sin. It is not their sins per se that characterize evil people…The central defect of the evil is not the sin but the refusal to acknowledge it.

And a longer passage:

We lie only when we are attempting to cover up something we know to be illicit. Some rudimentary form of conscience must precede the act of lying. There is no need to hide unless we first feel that something needs to be hidden. We come now to a sort of paradox. Evil people feel themselves to be perfect. At the same time, however, they have an unacknowledged sense of their own evil nature. Indeed, it is this very sense from which they are frantically trying to flee. The essential component of evil is not the absence of a sense of sin or imperfection but the unwillingness to tolerate that sense. At once and the same time, the evil are aware of their evil and desperately trying to avoid the awareness. Rather than blissfully lacking a sense of morality like the psychopath, they are continually engaged in sweeping the evidence of their evil under the rug of their own consciousness (or attempting to redefine their evil as good). The evil hate the light – the light of goodness that shows them up, the light of scrutiny that exposes them, the light of the truth that penetrates their deception.

The CIA’s Libya Rebels: The Same Terrorists who Killed US, NATO Troops in Iraq « TARPLEY.net

The current military attack on Libya has been motivated by UN Security Council resolution 1973 with the need to protect civilians. Statements by President Obama, British Prime Minister Cameron, French President Sarkozy, and other leaders have stressed the humanitarian nature of the intervention, which is said to aim at preventing a massacre of pro-democracy forces and human rights advocates by the Qaddafi regime.

But at the same time, many commentators have voiced anxiety because of the mystery which surrounds the anti-Qaddafi transitional government which emerged at the beginning of March in the city of Benghazi, located in the Cyrenaica district of north-eastern Libya. This government has already been recognized by France and Portugal as the sole legitimate representative of the Libyan people. The rebel council seems to be composed of just over 30 delegates, many of whom are enveloped in obscurity. In addition, the names of more than a dozen members of the rebel council are being kept secret, allegedly to protect them from the vengeance of Qaddafi. But there may be other reasons for the anonymity of these figures. Despite much uncertainty, the United Nations and its several key NATO countries, including the United States, have rushed forward to assist the armed forces of this rebel regime with air strikes, leading to the loss of one or two coalition aircraft and the prospect of heavier losses to come, especially if there should be an invasion. It is high time that American and European publics learned something more about this rebel regime which is supposed to represent a democratic and humanitarian alternative to Gaddafi.

The rebels are clearly not civilians, but an armed force. What kind of an armed force?

Since many of the rebel leaders are so difficult to research from afar, and since a sociological profile of the rebels cannot be done on the ground in the midst of warfare, perhaps the typical methods of social history can be called on for help. Is there a way for us to gain deeper insight into the climate of opinion which prevails in such northeastern Libya………………

Radioactive yellow rain that fell in Tokyo and surrounding areas last night caused panic amongst Japanese citizens and prompted a flood of phone calls to Japan’s Meteorological Agency this morning, with people concerned that they were being fed the same lies as victims of Chernobyl, who were told that yellow rain which fell over Russia and surrounding countries after the 1986 disaster was merely pollen, the same explanation now being offered by Japanese authorities.

“After two days of rain in Tokyo I woke up to a thick coating of this yellow stuff all over my car. What looks like a glare between the glass and the body of the car is actually pollen. My first thought was ewe! Radioactive sludge from Fukushima, but no,” states the comment associated with this You Tube clip.

World War II Vet Learns He’s Not a U.S. Citizen

CENTRALIA, WA – Imagine living in this country for nearly a 100 years only to learn you’re not a citizen.

It happened to a 95-year-old military veteran in Washington named Leeland Davidson.

Davidson knew he was born in Canada in 1916, but figured because his parents were American, he was automatically a U.S. citizen.

He was able to join the Navy and served in World War II, but when Davidson recently went to get the driver’s license he needed to go to Canada to visit relatives, he learned otherwise.

s Ron Paul correct in asserting that blowback is an undisputable fact? Polling numbers compiled by USA Election Polls seem to bear witness to the fact that his momentum is increasing or at least remaining steady, and considering Mr. Paul’s vociferous stands on foreign policy, this is a reasonable assertion. Occasioned by the republican debate in South Carolina, Mr. Paul acknowledged that blowback is at least in part to blame for the 9-11 attacks.

It is not surprising that this stand has not earned him many friends within George Bush’s camp, but the truth of the matter dictates that Mr. Bush very expressly stated that nation building was not in the best interest for American or the world, yet a few short years later this very concept is being applied – albeit using different terminology – in Iraq.

Heavily attacked by other conservatives, especially Mr. Giuliani, the statements made by Ron Paul were soon twisted and turned to such an extent that they almost – but not quite – sounded as though the United States had only itself to blame for being attacked on 9-11.

Oil industry experts warn that the price for a gallon of gas will reach $5 before summer. They blame the unfolding conflict in Libya and across the oil-producing Middle East for exploding prices.

The price for a barrel of oil rose 31 cents to $106.07 today.

Oil prices do not follow the classic laws of capitalist supply and demand. Despite the fact the Energy Department reported a 2 million-barrel rise in crude oil supplies for the week that ended March 18, according to a survey by Platts, the energy information arm of McGraw-Hill Cos, the price of gas continues to rise. The increase represented 970,000 barrels.

Supply and demand is an irrelevant theory under globalist mercantilism.

“Supply and demand mean nothing to the oil industry. Basic economics teaches that if supply goes down, prices will go up. If demand goes down, prices go down. The inverse of each is also true, unless you are in the oil industry,” writes The Mercury in an op-ed. “Previous excuses for price increases of gasoline have been damage to refineries by Hurricane Katrina, a pipeline leak in Alaska, the increased cost of refining for the summer time driving season, the war in Iraq, and most anything that can be associated with gasoline.”

Confronted with an overall supply increase, the industry expects gasoline supplies to decline by 2 million barrels, distillate stocks to shrink by 1.5 million barrels and refinery utilization to increase by 0.3 percentage point to 83.7 percent according to Bloomberg.

Nielsen Wire reports that a 50-cent increase in gas prices would cost the typical U.S. household about $52.50 per month, and if prices were to rise two dollars, that would mean $210 a month, or more than $2,500 a year.

In December, former oil industry chaplain Lindsey Williams said the price of oil would skyrocket to between $150 and $200 a barrel this year. Williams became a friend and trusted confidant of oil industry executives while he served as chaplain for them and their construction crews building the Alaska pipeline during the 1970s.

In the last few days, Obama administration officials have frequently faced the question: Is the fighting in Libya a war? From military officers to White House spokesmen up to the president himself, the answer is no. But that leaves the question: What is it?

In a briefing on board Air Force One Wednesday, deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes took a crack at an answer. “I think what we are doing is enforcing a resolution that has a very clear set of goals, which is protecting the Libyan people, averting a humanitarian crisis, and setting up a no-fly zone,” Rhodes said. “Obviously that involves kinetic military action, particularly on the front end.”

Rhodes’ words echoed a description by national security adviser Tom Donilon in a briefing with reporters two weeks ago as the administration contemplated action in Libya. “Military steps — and they can be kinetic and non-kinetic, obviously the full range — are not the only method by which we and the international community are pressuring Gadhafi,” Donilon said.

Rhodes and Donilon are by no means alone. “Kinetic” is heard in a lot of descriptions of what’s going on in Libya. “As we are successful in suppressing the [Libyan] air defenses, the level of kinetic activity should decline,” Defense Secretary Robert Gates said in a meeting with reporters in Moscow Tuesday. In a briefing with reporters the same day from on board the USS Mount Whitney, Admiral Samuel Locklear, commander of Joint Task Force Odyssey Dawn, said, “The coalition brings together a wide array of capabilities that allow us to minimize the collateral damage when we have to take kinetic operations.” On Monday, General Carter Ham, head of U.S. Africa Command, said of the coalition forces, “We possess certainly a very significant kinetic capability.” And unnamed sources use it too. “In terms of the heavy kinetic portion of this military action, the president envisions it as lasting days, not weeks,” an unnamed senior official told CNN Saturday.

Well, many will tell you to use this or that search service, sign this or that Guestbook, post to Marine messageboards, and then there are those websites for Reunions and Associations that should not be overlooked either, etc. (Use Google Search, below to find the above) All of the above are fine, but, in my opinion and experience, the very best way to find old friends/information, perhaps in addition to the above, is to put up your own free website and They will find YOU!!!

Look at it this way, if you were looking for someone on the Internet and cannot find them, think how much easier it would be if that person had his/her own website out there, wouldn’t that make things a whole lot easier.

Once you establish your own visible presence (your website) on the WWW, those who knew you and/or may be searching for you, and others with the info you seek, as well, will have a starting point. It’s that simple–it may take a while, but results will eventually come. It’s easy to find people who are already on the Internet! Show your name/keywords at or near the top of the page and that will assist those who may type your name/keywords into a search engine on the www……………….

A group of voters filed a recall petition Wednesday against East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Councilwoman Alison Cascio, saying her votes do not reflect the views of her District 11 constituents, according to a website promoting the recall.

The petition was hand-delivered Tuesday to the Secretary of State’s Office.

It was signed by Hunter Bridges and Charles Bowden, said Sailor Jackson, spokesman for the Secretary of State’s Office.

Members of the recall committee deferred comment to the website http://www.recallcascio.com.

It was unclear Wednesday how many people are involved in the recall effort.

WASHINGTON — If Florida leaders refuse to carry out the new national health-care law, Uncle Sam is prepared to take charge on behalf of the state’s consumers.

One year after President Barack Obama signed the health-care overhaul into law, federal officials are urging Florida and other reluctant states to shape it to meet their needs and to take advantage of millions of dollars of federal planning grants. Failure to participate, officials warned this week, means a loss of state control.

Florida and other states, for example, must show by 2013 they are set up to provide a health-insurance exchange, an online service for consumers to compare coverage plans and shop for affordable rates. If states are unwilling or unprepared, the law requires U.S. officials to step in and make a federal-run exchange available for residents at the start of 2014.

But Florida Gov. Rick Scott — backed by fellow Republicans in the Legislature who strongly oppose “ObamaCare” — has refused $2 million in federal planning money and ordered state agencies not to implement the law. In addition, Florida has challenged the law in federal court, in a lawsuit filed before Scott was elected in November.

Philanthropist billionaire George Soros is a primary funder and key proponent of the global organization that promotes the military doctrine used by the Obama administration to justify the recent airstrikes targeting the regime of Moammar Gadhafi in Libya.

The activist who founded and coined the name of the doctrine, “Responsibility to Protect,” sits on several key organizations alongside Soros.

Also, the Soros-funded global group that promotes Responsibility to Protect is closely tied to Samantha Power, the National Security Council special adviser to Obama on human rights.

Let’s see if I have this straight: America shouldn’t drill for oil and gas in the Gulf of Mexico because our evil oil corporations surely will cause another accident like the BP spill and pollute all the oceans of the world; but it’s no problema apparently for the obviously technologically superior Brazil to drill in the open Atlantic and sell their production to us?

At least that is what I gleaned from the encouraging words delivered by our president to Brazilian leaders in a speech to local businessmen in Brasilia last week. Discussing the partnering of our two national economies, the president said this:

By some estimates, the oil you recently discovered off the shores of Brazil could amount to twice reserves we have in the United States. We want to work with you. We want to help with technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely, and when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers (emphasis added). At a time when we’ve been reminded how easily instability in other parts of the world can affect the price of oil, the United States could not be happier with the potential for a new, stable source of energy (emphasis added).

No doubt much self-flagellation is currently taking place amongst the Western ‘left’, or at least it should be given their atrocious reading of the Libyan ‘revolution’.

Right from the very beginning of ‘Operation Odyssey Dawn’ something just didn’t smell right about the Libyan ‘revolution’. From the outset this was no peaceful, civilian insurrection such as those taking place elsewhere in the region. In other words it started life as a civil war heavily disguised – with Western help – as a ‘peoples’ revolution’, but one armed and dangerous.

“Diplomatic observers were shocked by the sweeping resolution passed by the Security Council, which allows “all necessary measures” to be used against Libya. The United Nations Charter strictly limits Chapter 7 military actions to threats to international peace and security, which Libya has never represented, but rules out interference in internal affairs of member states. The pretext cited in this case was the protection of defenseless civilians, but it is clear that the rebels constitute an armed military force in their own right. Since no state can be an aggressor on its own territory, the Security Council resolution stands in flagrant violation of the UN Charter. Russia, China, Brazil, Germany, and India abstained. All the while many on the Western ‘left’ were waxing lyrical about the Libyan ‘revolution’ it was at the same time joining the imperial chorus calling for Western military intervention on ‘humanitarian’ grounds and all the while the Empire was plotting to get rid of another ‘troublesome’ puppet, partition Libya right down the middle, West and East, with the East (where most of the oil is located) led by the ‘revolutionaries’, mostly ex-Gaddafi hacks and CIA ‘assets’. So much for the Western ‘left’s’ understanding of the workings of the Empire.

Concealed Carry – Its Your Right

That all changed, though, over the next couple of centuries when states began imposing massive amounts of gun control. These restrictions turned countless Americans into mandatory victims, and many innocent lives were lost as a result.

But now, we are ever so slowly inching our way back to removing the mountain of prohibitions on being armed in public. Prior to this year, three states had stopped requiring law-abiding citizens to first get a permit to carry firearms concealed in public. And now, legislators in Wyoming have added the Cowboy State to this growing list.

Constitutional carry is the term Gun Owners of America has applied to carrying firearms without getting prior approval from the government. It recognizes that the Second Amendment is serious when it says that our gun rights “shall not be infringed.” We hear statists say that all of our rights are subject to being balanced by the “interests” of the government. Such a view would have us forget that “We the People” are the boss, and the government works for us.

We have the “interests;” but the government has only one responsibility — to do what it is told.

American Christianity is spiraling into irrelevancy as the salt loses his savor.

JB Williams — Will Congress Become Accomplices in Obama’s Illegal War?

Instead of focusing on the fact that Barack Obama had just broken his oath of office, the War Powers Act and acted way beyond his constitutional authority at the command of the United Nations alone, Republicans seem only concerned with helping Obama put that genie back in the bottle after the fact.

A US president has authority to use military force only under the following conditions, none of which exist in the case of Libya, from Section II – C of the War Powers Act.

(1) a declaration of war, (which only congress can declare)

(2) specific statutory authorization, (as Bush received for both Afghanistan and Iraq)

(3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces. (As Reagan used in the 1986 bombing of Libya)

Senator Obama knew this in 2007, which means that President Obama knowingly and willfully broke the law in 2011.

The leap into Libya is flawed not only because it proceeds in violation of the Constitution but also because it is strategically ill-conceived. In the build-up to intervention in the second Gulf War, President George W. Bush endeavored mightily to paint Saddam Hussein as a global threat. The never found weapons of mass destruction were convenient grounds because they could transform a regional menace into a global one, justifying worldwide involvement to wrench him from power. Those never found weapons could also justify a defensive reaction, one that arguably did not require a declaration of war under the Constitution. Unlike the first Gulf War, the second had no clearly defined objectives and no clear exit strategy. George W. adopted a grandiose, and historically contradicted, vision of a Jeffersonian democracy for Iraq.

He hoped to impose that Western style democracy on a nation that had always known either theocratic or secular dictatorships. The regime that remains, propped up by heavy United States’ financing, is one that no group within the country finds satisfactory. Sooner or later it will likely collapse or be transformed, a civil war will follow, and a return to dictatorship will likely be Iraq’s fate. We have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on that fiasco, in no small measure because the second Gulf War, unlike the first, had no clearly defined objective or exit strategy.

Barack Obama, despite his grandiosity and narcissism, did not bring this awful state of affairs upon us suddenly last spring, though he probably tells himself this when lovingly gazing at his image in the mirror each morning. We’ve been letting our freedom slide away for decades, and, if we don’t watch it, death panels, as predicted by former GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin, will be the norm, quite soon.

Denying expensive federal medical care to granny or grandpa, on a case by case basis, is the swiftest way to go for Washington pols that always look for the easy way out when it comes to “cutting” the federal budget. As Gasoline Soars, Libyan Rebels Pay 46 Cents a Gallon [Oil Is A Powerful Weapon]

BENGHAZI, Libya — World fuel prices are surging, in part because of the bloody battle to topple Moammar Gadhafi, but there’s one place where the price of a gallon of gasoline actually has dropped: war-torn Libya.

Rebels in eastern Libya filling up their tanks as they head to battle down the country’s coastal highway are paying 25 percent less than they did before their revolution began last month.

Today, gasoline costs the equivalent of 46 U.S. cents a gallon; last week, the price was just over 62 cents.
