The White House is circulating a piece of draft legislation that would give the Department of Homeland Security oversight over cybersecurity at civilian agencies, according to a report from FedNewsRadio.
The proposed legislation combines the comprehensive cybersecurity bill introduced last year by the Senate Homeland Security Committee with the administration’s memo from July 2010 to expand DHS’s responsibilities over non-military networks, according to the report. Like the Homeland Security bill sponsored by Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), Susan Collins (R-Maine)

We see now where some are reporting that Fox news has “scrubbed” their website of the O’Riley, Obama Conn. SSN discussion.
Glenn Beck came out and pleaded with conservatives to “knock it off”…
Plenty of elected Repubs are still coming out saying Osama was born a little Hawaiian boy king…
So I want to ask the masses here,
Is the conservative media, talking heads and political elite trying to stifle the story because, they believe that it’s a losing political argument and will guarantee Obama four more years?
Or is the conservative media, talking heads and political elite trying to stifle the story because they now know he’s a fraud.
It happened because they honestly thought McCain could beat him and prior to the stock market crash in Sept 08 he could have. No one wanted to bring the issue because it would have given the media all the ammo they needed to label us racist, cover for Obama, possibly paving the way for him to win.
But thru a confluence of events at the last minute he won. So now the political elite on both sides of the isle know if the truth comes out that the President was not Constitutionally eligible to run for his office, it would cause unimaginable long-term devastation to the country both foreign as well as domestically.
Could/would possibly spark wide spread civil unrest, violence and another civil war. Because it would appear to the ill informed and uneducated that the white man was using dirty tricks to remove the first black president?
That’s exactly how the media would spin it to save face. because they failed to vet him properly them tell the American people what they found.
I can only image the nightmare that would come once it was known that Obama was not constitutionally eligible to hold the office.
First would be a legal battle the likes of which this planet has never seen.
All the legislation and all its tentacles that stretch from DC to smallville USA. Treaties and executive orders that he signed. Every single decision, regulation or legal opinion made by every single person he ever hired or appointed to every gov agency.
All the judges he’s appointed and all the cases they have presided over and ruled on. And all the cases where those cases were cited as controlling case law to gain ruling in other cases.
The US Supreme Court appointments, military and intelligence actions we’ve engaged in, both overt and covert.
The list is believably endless and the ramifications are unimaginable.
Could what is happening be an attempt by those in the know just to save the Republic?

We also have reason to fear because his opposition cannibalizes itself. It spends more time arguing over whether its leaders are being “tough” enough with regard to one seventy-fifth of the budget than it does in figuring out how to evict Obama from office.
It spends more time arguing over whether a cut in budget authority is a real cut (it most certainly is) or a “fake” cut than it spends explaining and publicizing why its own budget, the Ryan plan, would mark a huge advance in individual freedom, prosperity, and fiscal survivability. It spends more time freaking out and engaging in internal warfare than it spends keeping its eye on the ball, long-term.
With a needlessly fractious opposition like this, Obama and Nancy Pelosi and Elena Kagan and all the government-firsters in their ranks may well survive their own deep unpopularity. They may survive their own fecklessness. They may survive their own, abundantly evident hypocrisy, and may survive their own ineptness. They may do so because their opposition — the activists who carry the ball for the majority of Americans who are basically center-right, basically market-oriented, basically individualist — is so pathetically unable to get its act together.

While some of my best bloggin’ buds in-the-whole-wide-world have chosen to take issue with Trump -who endorsed McCain- just for giving Barack Obama a fair chance and the benefit-of-the-doubt in the heady days following his 2008 victory, I sure don’t seen any pressing need to scare off a guy who clearly has benefited the conservative debate immensely- and likely will do so for the foreseeable future…
And yeah, someone should suggest to the blunt-talking tycoon that it may not behoove him to label Bush “evil”… but he doesn’t think we ever should have gone to Iraq, and back in ’08 when he uttered it, that was the mood of the day. I sure don’t agree with Trump on that either, but maybe he meant for handing the country over to the Democrats- if so, he’d have a point.
Sorry to say it, but Donald Trump’s the only one -except perhaps John Bolton- saying anything even close to what I have been waiting to hear on vital defense issues… like “no nuclear Iran, no way”. When Trump isn’t in the room, I can already see that many important things won’t even be discussed- not by the Mitt-bots of the world. Add to that his reach-out to the TEA Party, we need this guy around.
I’m as aware as anybody of Trump’s negatives as a candidate, but I’ll tell you this: outside of defense issues, debt and jump-starting the entrepreneurial class in this country are top of every sane GOPer’s list. Alas, there’s only one guy here that can say he’s ever put people and resources together to conquer a challenge on this scale… and this one actually enjoys it.
As Cavuto quipped on Fox “Guys who build skyscrapers with their name on them” know how to get things done.
And plenty of positive buzz out there…

Under a White House plan, the Homeland Security Department will have far-reaching oversight over all civilian agency computer networks.
The proposal would codify much of the administration’s memo from July 2010 expanding DHS’s cyber responsibilities for civilian networks.
The White House, however, is taking those responsibilities further, according to a source familiar with the document. The administration drafted a legislative proposal to give DHS many, if not all, of the same authorities for the .gov networks that the Defense Department has for the .mil networks.

It is therefore now time for the Impeachment of President Barack Hussein Obama and a call for Demand Resignations of Vice President Joe Biden and other politically appointed members of the Obama Administration. This must be done swiftly to save this country from further destruction at home and abroad. Never in the history of this great land have I studied or experienced such a degree of ineptness and incompetence of our governing body, one that borders on treasonous activity if it is not simple ineptitude.
Many people responded to me last year, stating that the demand for resignations would not work…but the program has worked, very effectively, for over a year, in getting rid of some of the “deadwood”. But we are not finished yet in our quest to rid Washington of the greedy, inept, corrupt, in sometime treasonous career politicians/appointees, and those who tread upon and violate the Constitution of the United States openly and notoriously without shame.
Obama’s Progressive Socialist agenda, his lack of leadership skills, honesty and experience, his policy and program initiatives, his executive orders and appointments, all have led this country to a new low in credibility and respect, not only in the United States but from all corners of the world.

A mother was involved in a ten-hour stand-off with a police SWAT team after refusing to give her child some medication.
Maryanne Godboldo, from Detroit, was accused of medically neglecting her 13-year-old daughter Ariana by not administering her with an anti-psychotic drug.
Staff from the Child Protective Services, accompanied by police, turned up at Godboldo’s home to take her child into state care.

A new PPP poll released on Friday shows Donald Trump leading the Republican presidential primary race by much more than a hair.
In fact, the poll shows the brash real estate tycoon turned reality TV show host posting a large nine-point lead on the nearest competition. It’s the latest in a flurry of recent surveys to show the Donald running strong in the GOP field, but it’s the first to show him all alone at the front of the pack.
Trump garnered 26% of the vote, followed by Mike Huckabee (17%), Mitt Romney (15%), Newt Gingrich (11%), and Sarah Palin (8%.) Ron Paul earned 5%, while Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty took 4% each.
But despite Trump’s sudden sprint to the front of the field, his wide lead isn’t necessarily a sign of his strength so much as a sign of the weakness of the overall GOP field at this point.

The PPP poll found a sizable birther base within the party, as 23% of respondents said they’d be “unwilling” to vote for any candidate who says Obama was born in the U.S. Additionally, only 38% said they would be willing to vote for such a candidate, while 39% were unsure.

What is true is the issue of Barry Hussein Soetoro’s ineligibility started in 2008 by a Democrat who didn’t want Barry nominated for the Democrat candidate for President because word was that he was not a Natural Born Citizen as required by the Constitution of the United States of America.

Jean Paul Ludwig came to the United States from France to work for Pennsylvania Senator David Aiken Reed in 1924 arriving through Ellis Island.
Senator Reed, whose book collections include multiple volumes in French, was the co-author of the Immigration Act of 1924 that limited immigration to the United States to certain ‘geographic’ (read race) areas. Senator Reed was buried in Arlington National Cemetery in 1953

Just heard WBAP morning host, Mark Davis, say that only one US citizen parent is required for a person to be a Natural Born Citizen.
That is just blatant misinformation, and Mark needs to be called on it.
He went on to give the rest of his weird definition, but I was already so angry, I couldn’t hear him. I went looking for a link to send him email, so that I could correct him.

The city of Boston has been taken to task by the ACLU over concerns about a roll-out of thermal imaging cameras being used to monitor energy efficiency inside homes. A pilot program to take aerial and street-level photos of heat loss in Boston was part of a scheme to encourage participation in home energy improvement programs, as well as to drive consumers towards green companies.

There had been many woeful misunderstandings between North and South in the years that led up to the Civil War, but the most tragic misunderstanding of all was that neither side realized, until it was too late, that the other side was desperately in earnest. Not until the war had actually begun would men see that their rivals really meant to fight. By that time it was too late to do anything but go on fighting.
Southerners had been talking secession for many years, and most people in the North had come to look on such talk as a counter in the game of politics. You wanted something, and you threatened that dire things would happen if you did not get what you wanted; but you didn’t necessarily mean to do what you were threatening to do, and there was no sense in taking brash words at their face value. Candidate and now President Obama has been followed by numerous accusations of socialistic policies and beliefs. For the most part, the President has dodged these questions as best he can, changing around his public stance several times.
And now there’s this. Audio from a 2001 interview of Barack Obama discussing his view points on the redistribution of wealth…
Here is a short transcript:

And to that extent as radical as people tried to characterize the Warren court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties.
It says what the states can’t do to you, it says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.

Calling higher prices “a key incentive for conserving,” President Obama told an audience of 500 employees at the Gamesa Technology Corp., a wind turbine manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania, that “we need to get used to higher gas prices for the sake of our environment.”
“There is no gain without at least a little pain,” the President argued. “Paying a few dollars more at the pump will encourage people to cut back on unnecessary trips and use public transit when they have to travel. If we’re going to save the planet we all have to make sacrifices.”
As an example of what a person could do, the President cited the fact that “I work from a home office. I’m not driving to work, burning hydrocarbons, adding to traffic congestion and air pollution. And when I find I do have to go out I never drive alone. I always carpool with a couple of bodyguards. If others would just do the same even if only for one or two days a week we’d make a significant contribution to solving our environmental problems. So, just think of higher fuel prices as kind of a ‘stick’ to help persuade more people to make the changes in their behavior that are required to clean the air.”
“Of course, the upside for you here at Gamesa is that when people can’t afford the high cost of fossil fuels they’ll be buying your products,” Obama pointed out. “That’ll mean more jobs and more profits for you.”

This news is breaking: This is bad news for Obama.
This is what we know so far. We get more info on Jean Paul Ludwig, who was born in 1890, had CT SSN obtained in 1976 and died in HI around 1981. There are 2 SS numbers for him and records show him dying in 2 different states: CA and HI around 1981.
The reason this is important, is because there is a similar fact pattern to Obama. Barack Obama is residing today in the White House, using CT SS number 042-68-4425, issued in CT in and around March 1977 to an elderly individual named John Paul Ludwig, who was born in 1890, who is presumed dead and whose death was either never reported to the SS administration or reported and deleted from the database by someone.

Thus if the elderly man originally from CT died intestate in Hawaii with no known relatives, Grandma Dunham would have known this person is a prime candidate to steal the SSN of since there would be no known surviving family worrying about the death benefit from SSN and that the benefit was not likely applied for and thus SSA did not know he died.

Gene Healy, author of The Cult of the Presidency—America’s Dangerous Devotion to Executive Power, suggests: “In an age when Americans periodically swoon for imperial presidents, a little sacred cow-tipping would be a public service.” The made-for-television mini-series, The Kennedys, recently airing on ReelzChannel is a case in point.
Unceremoniously cancelled earlier this year by The History Channel as not a good “fit” for “the History brand,” the project was controversial almost from its inception. This had to do completely with the hypersensitivity of a vast array of myth-guardians who stand perpetual watch over the Kennedy family, as well as the career and legacy of America’s 35th President. And these members of the Camelot cabal pretty much wrote the book on branding.
I have long been a student of the Kennedy era and I wrote a Master’s thesis on it many years ago while working on my political science degree. And frankly, I have yet to see a scenario or fact presented in the broadcast that has not appeared in the history available at any public library or bookstore. I find myself wondering why the fuss?
The John F. Kennedy portrayed in this new series is a real life character—warts and all. Greg Kinnear does an admirable job with the JFK persona, as does Katie Holmes with Jackie Kennedy. Is it all flattering? Certainly not. But JFK comes off as a much more sympathetic character in this current portrayal than might have been expected after hearing all the advance hype and horror. In fact, in my opinion the production spends a tortured amount of time showing him as a man much more “conflicted” about the flaws, now well known, than he really was……………………….

I SPENT 18 years in prison for robbery and murder, 14 of them on death row.
I’ve been free since 2003, exonerated after evidence covered up by prosecutors surfaced just weeks before my execution date.
Those prosecutors were never punished. Last month, the Supreme Court decided 5-4 to overturn a case I’d won against them and the district attorney who oversaw my case, ruling that they were not liable for the failure to turn over that evidence — which included proof that blood at the robbery scene wasn’t mine.
Because of that, prosecutors are free to do the same thing to someone else today.

A top White House adviser on Sunday decried Donald Trump‘s recent public appearances as a “sideshow,” saying the American people will not be swayed by the questions he’s raised about President Obama’s citizenship.
Polls show that the billionaire reality star’s popularity has been on the rise as he’s taken up the so-called “birther” cause. He’s expected to decide by June whether he’s in or out as a presidential candidate, and White House senior adviser David Plouffe suggested the White House is not at all nervous.
“I hope he keeps on rising (in the polls) because … there’s zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people to do this job,” he said on ABC’s “This Week.” “There may be a small part of the country that believes these things, but mainstream Americans think it’s a sideshow.”

Discrepancies in Barack Obama’s history “that raise serious questions about his eligibility for the office of President” have been accepted “quietly” for study by the U.S, Supreme Court, according to an Email this web site received just this week.
The memo which goes on to refer to “possible fraudulent use of a Social Security number in Connecticut, while Obama was a high school student in Hawaii,” is quite similar to an investigation coachisright.com posted on May 16, 2010.
According to a search done by former British police detective Neil Sankey, now a U.S. citizen and a licensed private investigator in Los Angeles, Barack Obama reportedly has 27 different social security numbers under 21 different personal and/or familial name variations in 22 different states plus the District of Columbia.
Along with PI Susan Daniels, Sankey generated a large social security public data base in his lengthy research project, titled “List of Properties associated with Barack Obama and his family.”
Sankey’s research is featured in a web video entitled Dossier2MP4 produced by Jim Przybowski. The Sankey/Daniels social security investigation segment alleges Obama currently is using a Social Security number assigned to someone born in Connecticut in l890!
N.B. There is no indication that the Social Security Administration re-issues numbers upon the death of a number holder no matter how long ago they were originally issued.
Sankey and Daniels report that Social Security numbers connected to Barack Obama and the addresses they trace to are as follows: 363 Notlem St., 34982-7358 Fort Pierce, FL.

One of my heroes is Lord Melbourne, who at the age of eight, to the dismay of his parents, had not uttered a single word.
That ended one night at a dinner party when the lady seated next to him at table asked “Little boy, why do you not speak?”
His young Lordship looked at her and said his very first words – “Because Madam,” he said, “I have absolutely nothing to say.”
Some years later he observed “The Irish are a basically honest people; they seldom speak well of one another.”
He was right on target.
In that tradition allow me to speak critically of a onetime fellow Long Islander, the loquacious Bill O’Reilly, a Nassau County native but, as he once told me, a onetime resident of neighboring Suffolk County, L.I., that his Dad was among my fellow Brooklyn Prep alumnus, although he was a few years ahead of me at the Prep.

When the intervention in Libya began, President Obama insisted no American ground forces would be involved. On Thursday, the U.S. Africa Command combatant commander speculated that troops may be needed, even if he considered it a bad idea.
In testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Army Gen. Carter Ham discussed the increasingly complex situation in Libya, explaining that the war had reached a point of stalemate. Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi’s offensive had largely been halted, but rebel forces have no chance of toppling him from power. Asked if U.S. ground forces might be needed to tip the balance, he said, “I suspect there might be some consideration of that.”
The general added his personal view that it probably would not be “the ideal circumstance, again for the regional reaction that having American boots on the ground would entail.”
The main problem with the Libyan war has been a lack of conceptual unity. Coalition military performance has been exemplary, as one might expect. Imposing a no-fly zone over Libya and conducting air strikes on Col. Gadhafi’s offensive ground forces come as close to a routine military operation as any such complex and violent effort can be. Mr. Obama could well have claimed “mission accomplished” when the White House blandly announced the advent of Operation Unified Protector, which continued the effort originally known as Operation Odyssey Dawn but under NATO leadership. The administration’s real “mission accomplished” was making sure Mr. Obama abandoned his global leadership role as quickly as possible.
America’s rush to the door is the root of the current problem. Mr. Obama’s original concept for intervention was little more than a bumper-sticker slogan, “protect Libyan civilians.”

Even before Gail Collins was with the New York Times, she has written nasty and derogatory articles about me. Actually, I have great respect for Ms. Collins in that she has survived so long with so little talent. Her storytelling ability and word usage (coming from me, who has written many bestsellers) is not at a high level. More importantly, her facts are wrong!
…I don’t need Ms. Collins’s advice. There is a large segment of our society who believe Barack Obama, indeed, was not born in the United States. His grandmother from Kenya stated, on tape, that he was born in Kenya and she was there to watch the birth. His family in Honolulu is fighting over which hospital in Hawaii he was born in-they just don’t know.
He has not been able to produce a “birth certificate” -merely a totally unsigned “certificate of live birth”-which is of very little significance. Unlike a birth certificate, a certificate of live birth is very easy to obtain. Equally of importance, there are no records in Hawaii that a Barack Hussein Obama was born there-no bills, no doctors names, no nurses names, no registrations, no payments, etc. As far as the two notices placed in newspapers, some feel the grandparents put an ad in order to show that he was a citizen of the U.S. with all of the benefits. Everybody, after all, and especially then, wanted to be a citizen.

The raging union-led protests in Wisconsin have resulted in many Americans taking a closer, more critical look at labor unions and their political clout and influence in shaping policy. With the ubiquitous announcement from AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka that he is granted an audience at the White House “nearly every day,” the American people have become more skeptical of unions and the role that they play in the political process.
Spawning this renewed attention to organized labor are reports that Democratic politicians have been endorsing violence as a legitimate means of protest and political expression. Rep. Michael Capuano (D-Mass.) has gone as far as telling a crowd of protesters at a union rally that they should be unafraid to “get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary,” and several other protesters took Capuano’s advice to heart, as former Tea Party Republican congressional candidate Marty Lamb, who ran against Democrat Rep. Jim McGovern in the 2010 elections, was reportedly brutally pummeled to the ground by union operatives at the same rally where Capuano issued his charge to violence……………

When the intervention in Libya began, President Obama insisted no American ground forces would be involved. On Thursday, the U.S. Africa Command combatant commander speculated that troops may be needed, even if he considered it a bad idea.
In testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Army Gen. Carter Ham discussed the increasingly complex situation in Libya, explaining that the war had reached a point of stalemate. Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi’s offensive had largely been halted, but rebel forces have no chance of toppling him from power. Asked if U.S. ground forces might be needed to tip the balance, he said, “I suspect there might be some consideration of that.” The general added his personal view that it probably would not be “the ideal circumstance, again for the regional reaction that having American boots on the ground would entail.”………….

A respected megachurch pastor addressed the confusion over end times prophecies in his new book by differentiating what the Bible clearly says about topics such as the rapture, the Antichrist, and the millennium rule of Jesus, and what is left to speculation.
Dr. Jim Dixon, senior pastor of the 10,000-member Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, Colo., wrote Last Things Revealed with the aim to help Christians better understand the Bible’s core teachings about the last days, overcome their fears of the end times, grow in their faith, and share the love of God with others in the time they have left on Earth. The book is based on Dixon’s eight-part sermon series called “The Last Things.” Bestselling author and apologist Lee Strobel, who is a member of Cherry Hills Community Church, wrote the foreword to the book.
“I think it is important for every generation to study eschatology, to study the events that are prophesized,” said Dixon, a respected scholar who helped found the Evangelical Presbyterian Church denomination in the 1980s, to The Christian Post on Thursday. “I am not saying that we are the last generation. [But] I think that I would be surprised if Christ doesn’t come back soon. Interestingly, House GOP conservatives told National Journal their offices – which earlier this week received steady phone calls and emails from Tea Party activists – have heard almost nothing today in terms of pressure to shut the government down. Some GOP offices interpret that, possibly, as a sign some Tea Party activists have resigned themselves to a deal that is less than originally sought in terms of spending cuts and policy changes.
That’s a theory that might be born in part on wishful thinking, but GOP aides said they have been surprised at the lack of organized Tea Party pressure so near to the shutdown deadline.

Energy Policy: A GOP senator and a Democratic congressman want to end the poster child for pork-barrel spending. Unfortunately, the road to the White House runs through the cornfields of Iowa.
It’s easy to lampoon federal spending on turtle tunnels, bridges to nowhere or cowboy poetry readings. It is harder to deal with subsidies and tax credits for things that do real damage to our collective bottom line. Case in point: the tax credit for and mandated use of ethanol, the corn-based additive to gasoline that was supposed to save the earth and gasoline and pave the way to energy independence.
It has achieved neither, and Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., is trying to end this mother of all corporate welfare programs. He is joined in the effort by Rep. Ben Cardin, D-Md., and Charles Koch of the famous Koch brothers. He is opposed by just about every presidential contender and conservatives such as Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform.
Norquist says ending the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit, which provides a 45-cents-a-gallon tax credit to ethanol producers, without an offsetting tax cut elsewhere, amounts to a tax increase that violates the no-new-taxes pledge he and his group demand from candidates.
Coburn disagrees, and so do we. Ending a tax credit is not a tax increase but rather the elimination of one of many distortions in the tax code that try to pick winners and losers, favoring this industry at the expense of that one. He notes that Citizens Against Government waste supports his position and his amendment to a small-business measure.

Likely Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich Friday laid the blame of a possible government shutdown squarely on the feet of President Obama, saying the commander-in-chief is intentionally holding U.S. troops “hostage” so Democrats can prevail in the budget showdown.
“Let’s be clear,” Gingrich said during a speech at Liberty University Friday. “President Obama is deliberately seeking to hold the men and women in uniform hostage so the politicians can fight over the budget and use the threat of not paying the troops their weapon.”
Gingrich’s comments are in reference to the president’s pledge Thursday to veto a Republican-backed spending bill that aimed to cut spending by $12 billion and fund the Pentagon for the remainder of the current fiscal year. The president and Democrats opposed the measure because of the programs it would cut, including a provision that would prevent Washington, DC taxpayer money to be used to fund abortion providers.

We’re talking about pennies, in addition to everything else. We are more than happy to fund Planned Parenthood. The Democrats are more than happy to fund Planned Parenthood, but they will shutdown this government if there is a rider to the continuing resolution that funds the military at war in Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq. So it’s fine to pay Planned Parenthood. In fact, the regime is insisting on it, and they’re calling this women’s health. Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democrats are out there describing this as a Republican assault on women’s health. Or alternately they say that the Republicans are focused on the usual social issues that the independents don’t care anything about. But what it boils down to is what’s a few dead babies between friends?

We have created suicidal government; the threatened federal shutdown and stubborn budget deficits are but symptoms.
By suicidal, I mean government has promised more than it can deliver and, as a result, repeatedly disappoints by providing less than people expect or jeopardizing what they already have.
But government can’t easily correct its excesses, because Americans depend on it for so much that any effort to change the status arouses a firestorm of opposition that virtually ensures defeat. Government’s very expansion has brought it into disrepute, paralyzed politics and impeded it from acting in the national interest.
Few Americans realize the extent of their dependency. In 2009 almost half (46.2%) received at least one federal benefit: Social Security, Medicare; Medicaid; food stamps, veterans’ benefits, housing subsidies.
The list doesn’t include tax breaks. Counting those, perhaps three-quarters or more of Americans receive some sizable government benefit. For example, 22% of taxpayers benefit from the home mortgage interest deduction and 43% from the preferential treatment of employer-provided health insurance.
“Once politics was about only a few things; today, it is about nearly everything,” writes the eminent political scientist James Q. Wilson in a recent collection of essays.
The concept of “vital national interest” is stretched. We deploy government casually to satisfy any mass desire, correct any perceived social shortcoming or remedy any market deficiency. What has abetted this political sprawl, notes Wilson, is the rising influence of “action intellectuals” — professors, pundits, “experts” — who provide rationales for political agendas.
The consequence is political overload: The system can no longer make choices, especially unpleasant choices, for the good of the nation.
Public opinion is hopelessly muddled. Polls show Americans want more spending for education (74%), health care (60%), Social Security (57%) and, indeed, almost everything.

Fresh off his interview with Donald Trump last week, Bill O’Reilly took on another controversial potential 2012 Republican candidate, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.
O’Reilly questioned Bachmann on why she thought she was even qualified to be president or if she had the experience to run the country.
“Do you have the frame of reference to deal with complicated issues like China trade? Like Iran nuclear? Like the unintended consequences?”
According to Bachmann, her age and life experience have, in fact, prepared her for the presidency.
“I do have a broad extensive background. I’m a student of many years. I have studied a wide birth of topics. I sit currently on the intelligence committee. We deal with the classified secrets. And with the unrest that’s occurring around the world. I also sit on financial services committee. But, again, I’ve lived life.”
The most interesting part of the interview came when O’Reilly pressed Bachmann on her gaffe over the site of Lexington and Concord, which Bachmann had said, more than once, was in New Hampshire instead of Massachusetts.
At first Bachmann tried to make a joke out of O’Reilly’s question, saying “I promised I would never again use Barack Obama’s teleprompter.” O’Reilly, however, was not satisfied with this and asked her about it again. When Bachmann tried to duck the question again by saying “it was a mistake and I don’t want to throw anybody under the bus so we’re going to leave it at that,” O’Reilly came up with his own theory about what happened.
“Somebody wrote that. You probably didn’t read over your stuff, and that’s how it came out. Correct?”
Bachmann’s answer:
“I’m not going to throw anybody under the bus. I take full responsibility and we’re just going to move on from there.”

We just heard from our fellow patriot who attended the Trump meeting. “IT COULD NOT HAVE GONE BETTER!” Trump was fully engaged and asked questions. On issues that he was unclear he asked the various members of the Arizona delegation to do get the information and documentation to him as soon as possible. The meeting lasted 30 minutes.
There were many media out in the hallway. The media were not allowed in the meeting which was attended by Trump and his Assistant Michael Cohen and the three members of the Arizona delegation.
Trump indicated that he fully supports the Arizona eligibility legislation and he pledged a visit to Arizona very soon!
Trump gave every indication that he moving forward with his investigation re: “Obama”.

A year of contentious debate finally concluded this week following overwhelming votes of both houses of Congress to repeal a relatively small, but typically onerous, requirement of President Barack Obama’s signature health care law.
Oddly enough, the president said he was pleased that Congress corrected “a flaw” in Obamacare that would have placed unnecessary bookkeeping burdens on small businesses, requiring them to file an IRS Form 1099 for every vendor or individual they pay more than $600 in a year. The president apparently hadn’t noticed the burdensome flaw when he signed the law last year. . .

Obama has also banned offshore oil development outside the gulf for seven years. Salazar has promulgated new rules making it more costly and difficult to develop energy resources on federal land, and the EPA — while slowing development of a cross-country pipeline that would expand U.S. access to Canadian oil — is moving forward with a cap-and-trade energy tax program that Congress rejected in 2010.
What Obama didn’t say to the man with 10 kids was what he said in a January 2008 interview, that under his administration, “electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” And he said nothing about his energy secretary, Steven Chu, who told the Wall Street Journal that “somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”
At the time, gas was selling there for $10 a gallon.
That’s two campaign promises Obama is well on his way to keeping.

Wait a minute, what about offending me? Don’t I count? I can get offended too, you know. Of course, when I really got offended I used to back off and calm down but my days of taking a deep breath are numbered, and not because I’m a day older, but because my “offensive fuse” has been shortened since, well, there’s a good question. Remember John McCain saying, “Oh, I apologize for the announcer saying Barrack HUSSEIN Obama”? Maybe then. Maybe when Clinton gave China “Most Favored Nation” trade status. Maybe when Carter met with the Palestinian (No Jew Between Me and the Sea) Muslim murderers (PLO). Maybe all of the above.
And, then again, maybe when the United States put a Muslim in the White House. Yes, that, without a doubt, shortened my fuse. If anyone ever had any doubt that the Democratic Party and the Republican Party aren’t one and the same, their mutual cover-up of Obama’s birth certificate should prove it to you. Now I am offended, so I propose starting our very own jihad; why not? The Muslims have theirs and no one seems to be offended.
That’s right, our very own jihad where we give what our enemies deserve. Our very own enemy list…besides all Muslims, let’s add everyone who had a part in putting and keeping Obama in office. That’s right, an American version of jihad: JOIN IN HALTING AMERICA’S DESTRUCTION.

When Donald Trump began testing the presidential waters in late February, it was easy to discard his efforts as nothing more than a public relations ploy. It seemed “The Don” was just looking for one more way to get the Trump name up in lights. Thus, like so many others, I was not impressed.
Yet since that time, Trump has carved out a niche for himself politically and has not only proven his sincerity in considering a presidential run, but has also risen to the point of being the 2nd most popular candidate among possible GOP primary contestants. He has done this not only by saying what conservatives in America have long wanted a politician to say, but also by doing so with the kind of unapologetic tone that marks the words of a man who’s confident in the justness of his cause.
To my point: Trump is angry over what Obama has done to America and he’s not afraid to express this indignation via various radio, television, and print outlets. (It’s been a long time since a potential presidential candidate loved America enough to verbalize his disdain over the harm a sitting president has done to this country.)……………………………………….

Yesterday the House passed H.R. 1363, which funds our Department of Defense and our military for the rest of the year at their current levels. It allows for the continuation of current military operations, which is pretty important when you’re fighting three wars. It also funds the government for another week and cuts $12 billion in wasteful spending. So why would the Commander in Chief declare that he will veto this? Why would he play politics at the expense of our troops who are putting everything on the line to protect us? Memo to the President: I doubt the insurgents will stop and wait for a government shutdown to end before resuming actions. You need to fund our troops, sir.
Like me, you might be asking yourself: Why on earth would he threaten to veto funding for the troops? What is his game plan? Basically, he’ll veto military funding because he wants the rest of the government funded too. And by the rest of the government, he means things like Harry Reid’s “Cowboy Poetry.” Essentially, he’s holding military funding hostage to NPR funding. Internet blog sites, conspiracy theorists and forums are awash with rumours as to what those mystery scars on the president’s head are from.
In pictures, Obama appears to have a long scar which goes up the side of his head and over his crown. Some conspiracy theorists claim they are scars that you would see on someone who has had brain surgery.
But without medical records (along with his school records and birth certificate) no one seems to be able to provide an answer as to the cause of the mystery scars. Ben Hart, a blogger for Escape The Tyranny a website which presents itself as a Social Network & Forum For Conservatives, said: ‘Obama’s almost done with his first term, and we still know almost nothing about the background of the President of the United States.
‘Whatever happened to create that scar, it was clearly something serious. Was it a brain operation? Has it affected his thinking?
‘No one is allowed to see his birth certificate.
He is just one big mystery man, which adds intrigue to what that huge scar is all about

The left-leaning watchdog group, which has pressured advertisers to yank support of conservative media personalities, ranks Andrew Breitbart, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and others in separate “tiers” of influence, beliefs and reach.
Now that Media Matters has declared victory over Glenn Beck, what’s next on its agenda? Getting Donald Trump to stop questioning where President Obama was born, perhaps, or maybe convincing advertisers to yank their support of another show on Fox News Channel. Maybe the left-leaning watchdog group will step up its campaign against online entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart.
Whoever takes Beck’s time slot when he ends his Fox News Channel show this year will be an instant target of the group.
“We monitor Beck’s 5 p.m. show on Fox. Whoever is in at 5 p.m., we’re still going to monitor,” said executive vp Ari Rabin-Havt, the No. 2 executive at Media Matters. “The likelihood is whoever is on at 5 p.m. is going to be a source of conservative misinformation.”
Media Matters isn’t spilling its exact agenda, acknowledging only there are “discussions” concerning Trump, Breitbart and others on an ongoing basis. But the advertising gambit — which worked so well against Beck by discouraging most big brands to avoid his TV show — is a tactic the group likes to use sparingly.
Besides the campaign against Beck, Media Matters has only targeted advertisers on two other occasions in the past two years, and was successful both times: when Dr. Laura Schlessinger used the N-word in a rant against political correctness on her former radio show and against Lou Dobbs while on CNN because of his stance on illegal immigration and his status as a “birther.”
Rabin-Havt says there are internal discussions about launching another campaign to get advertisers to boycott a show, though he wouldn’t name names.

Glenn Beck and Fox News Channel announced Wednesday they had agreed to let their contract run out. “Glenn intends to transition off his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year,” they said in a joint release.
America owes a debt of gratitude to Glenn Beck. Whatever his foibles, in the dark days of early 2009 as patriotic Americans began to realize that America was (and still is, for that matter) being transformed into a socialist state by the nation’s Community Organizer-in-Chief, Beck was there, exposing and harassing Obama and his cadre of radicals. (Note: Rick Santelli of CNBC also played a big role in fighting Obama but it was Beck who sold the idea to the viewing masses and fomented a glorious rebirth of patriotism.)

At an event at a Spanish windmill firm in Pennsylvania, President Obama suggested Americans consider selling their gas guzzlers for more fuel efficient cars. The president chided one questioner, saying: “If you’re complaining about the price of gas and you’re only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know,you might want to think about a trade-in.”

But the fact is, the Obama administration previously called for $7 a gallon gasoline. Two years ago, Obama’s Energy Secretary Steven Chu wanted to “figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe,” which at the time were over $7 a gallon.

A few weeks ago Bernard von NotHaus, purveyor of the gold/silver backed “Liberty Dollar”, was convicted on numerous charges including making, possessing, and selling his own coins, as well as conspiracy against the United States. Western District of North Carolina US attorney Anne Tompkins issued a Department of Justice press release that should raise blaring, high decibel sirens across the entire Union:
“Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism,” U.S. Attorney Tompkins said in announcing the verdict. “While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stability of this country,” she added. “We are determined to meet these threats through infiltration, disruption, and dismantling of organizations which seek to challenge the legitimacy of our democratic form of government.”
The definitions for what is or is not a “terrorist” are ambiguous as defined by the Patriot Act, and have been progressively, hastily and secretively expanded over the course of the last decade. A “terrorist,” it seems, is now anyone who actively engages in an activity – whether it’s violent, peaceful, public or private – perceived to threaten the legitimacy and/or stability of our government.

It’s a fairly typical day when Facebook has managed to spark the ire of man–including members of Congress, left and right–over its ever-evolving user privacy policies. Still, the company has managed to avoid pushing user patience to the point where people can’t maintain at least a base level of friendship. No significant block of the population has been moved to walk away from the site, much less take to the streets in protest.
But now, fueled by yesterday’s news that Facebook will host an online townhall meeting for the President, the company may be courting such a revolt by agitating a segment renowned for mobilizing and voicing their collective anger: modern conservative activists.
It’s the latest in a growing far right versus Facebook battle that began when the New York Times‘ Andrew Ross Sorkin recently reported that the social media giant was in talks to offer millions to former Obama White House press secretary Robert Gibbs to run its communications operation. The prospect of the move immediately raised eyebrows on the right, exemplified in comments to a post by Mike Riggs on the conservative website the Daily Caller–which also pointed out that Facebook had already hired a number of Obama administration alumni.
“Crackbook would become much less addictive for conservative patriots” if the company hired Gibbs, opined one commenter. Another wrote, “More and more I might end up yanking my profile from facebook as each day goes by.”

“One of the most dangerous plots ever instigated for the overthrow of this Government has its headquarters in Hollywood.” The year was 1945. The speaker was Rep. John E. Rankin (D-Mississippi). The forum was the House Un-American Activities Committee.
Rankin was a racist, a bigot, and an overall nasty fellow. On this, however, he was absolutely right. The only problem is that he was 70 years too early. Of course, he was somewhat right when he spoke the words, too. Ronald Reagan was head of the Screen Actors Guild from 1947-1952, and again in 1959-1960. During that time, he watched as Communist revolutionaries infiltrated the unions, attempting to shut down the studios and turn the instruments of culture toward anti-American ideologies. They remained a vocal minority inside Hollywood, but a dangerous one.
Now, the threat is much greater. The threat remains Communist. It is no longer Russian, and it is no longer internal. The threat comes from abroad, and it comes in the form of cash.

WASHINGTON — In the last three months, the biggest battle here has been about carving a relatively tiny amount of money out of this year’s $3.7 trillion budget.
But while Republicans, Democrats and the White House bickered over whether to cut anywhere from $61 billion to $33 billion — or else shut down the government — a far bigger battle looms in the months ahead over the fiscal 2012 budget and trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see.
House Republican budget leaders were expected to unveil their budget proposals Tuesday that called for spending reductions in the order of $6.2 trillion over the next decade. It tackles entitlements as well as discretionary spending cuts that will make this week’s fight over the fiscal 2011 budget look like an attempt to break into a child’s piggy bank.
The question is, will the emerging story be all about the GOP’s attempt to reform fiscally unsustainable entitlement programs, or about extreme spending increases by President Obama and the Democrats? To a large degree, that will depend on how the House GOP leadership frames the issue and their proposals. Done correctly, the story should be about the GOP reining in an irresponsible, spendthrift Congress whose budget policies have driven our country to the brink of bankruptcy.
Obama came into office in 2009 facing a budget deficit in the $400 billion range under President George W. Bush, largely the result of a fierce 2008-2009 recession that sharply cut federal tax revenues.
