HERMAN CAIN STATEMENT ON OSAMA BIN LADEN ASSASSINATION

(Stockbridge, GA)- Following the announcement of the successful assassination of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, potential Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said:

As Americans, we mark this occasion with a somber sense of satisfaction for the families, friends and loved ones who still suffer the pain of irreplaceable loss of life. Justice has been served.

We all owe a deep and abiding gratitude to the men and women in uniform and throughout our intelligence agencies for placing themselves in harm’s way to protect our way of life, while defending the honor and memory of their fellow citizens.

Although eradicating terrorism and those that would carry out its cowardly and despicable ends is far from over, we pause at this time to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001 and pray that those lost on that day know they are far from forgotten by their country.

For them and for America’s future, we remain ever vigilant.

Via various speakers in different forums, administration officials are repeating their message of the day: The successful killing of Osama bin Laden shows how America can succeed when it unites and perseveres through difficult trials.

The spin is true, but is also very compatible with the needs of President Obama, who is facing a stalled economy, high unemployment, incipient inflation, declining poll ratings, a GOP-controlled House, and expanding public worry that the nation is on the wrong track.

“Today, we are reminded that, as a nation, there’s nothing we can’t do —- when we put our shoulders to the wheel, when we work together, when we remember the sense of unity that defines us as Americans,” the president said at a midday Medal of Honor ceremony for two soldiers killed in the Korean war.

“I know there are some who doubted this day would ever come, who questioned our resolve and our reach,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a morning speech at the state department. “Let us remind ourselves, this is America. We rise to the challenge, we persevere, and we get the job done,” she said.

Al Qaeda militants are expected to strike quickly in response to Osama bin Laden‘s death, both as retaliation and to demonstrate that they will remain relevant even in the absence of their ideological leader.

In a sign of the urgency of the threat, the elite Marine Corps’ Chemical Biological Incident Response Force was called back last night from Japan, where they have been supporting radiation remediation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant site.

The unit is back in the U.S. and ready to respond to any potential emergency as a result of the attack, ABC News reports.

I watched the events unfold last night, but found one

thing very odd.

How do a thousand people materialize

on the Washingto Mall late at night, simultaneous with

the president’s speech, all of them roughly in their late

20′s and early 30′s, many holding Obama campaign

signs?

I’ve been to the Washington Mall, and it is not exactly

party-central late Sunday night. From Georgetown

maybe ? Very curious.

The decision to drop terror chieftain Osama bin Laden’s corpse into the Arabian Sea was the final meticulous step in a raid whose details were calculated to exert deadly force but also to achieve maximum effect in the propaganda war: the White House was careful to say bin Laden’s body had been treated according to Islamic tradition, but also to deny his followers a shrine.

But while the watery grave may help diminish bin Laden’s status as a martyr to his followers, it was already fueling conspiracy theories; as the administration resisted releasing even photographs of the slain terrorist leader on Monday, a predictable haze of myth and rumor had already, inevitably, begun to rise around him.

The helicopter carrying Navy SEALs malfunctioned as it approached Osama bin Laden’s compound at about 3:30 p.m. ET Sunday, stalling as it hovered. The pilot set it down gently inside the walls, then couldn’t get it going again.

It was a heart-stopping moment for President Barack Obama, who had been monitoring the raid in the White House Situation Room since 1 p.m., surrounded by members of his war cabinet.

In a perplexing development ignored by the mainstream media, the Obama Administration suspended tens of thousands of deportations last year and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano lied to a Senate committee to cover up the astounding figure.

Napolitano told the Senate Judiciary Committee that has oversight over the Department of Homeland Security that her agency halted the deportation of only 900 illegal immigrants in fiscal year 2010. She did admit that the figure could be higher because it excludes “deferred action” granted to illegal immigrants for “humanitarian” reasons.

The Obama administration has photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body and officials are debating what to do with them and whether they should be released to the public, officials tell ABC News.

“There’s no doubt it’s him,” says a US official who has seen the pictures and also reminds us that OBL was 6’4”.

The argument for releasing them: to ensure that the public knows and can appreciate that he’s dead. There is of course skepticism throughout the world that the US government claim that it killed bin Laden is true.

The argument against releasing the pictures: they’re gruesome. He has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.

In July 2003, the US government released photographs of Saddam Hussein’s dead sons Uday and Qusay Hussain but not until after they’d been touched up by a mortician, making them look not quite real.

Is Ron Paul the next “pro-immigration libertarian” to bedevil conservatives? VDare‘s Washington Watcher columnist surveys Liberty Defined, Paul’s latest book, and finds a “tragic turnaround on immigration.” In an email to supporters, Tom Tancredo accused his former congressional colleague and fellow 2008 Republican presidential candidate of doing a “180 turn” on immigration and “standing with La Raza and the Chamber of Commerce.”

… “While we have differed very publicly on issues such as the threat of Radical Islam, he had generally been an ally on immigration in Congress. He was a solid vote against amnesty, a leader in ending birthright citizenship, and joined my Immigration Reform Caucus,” (Tancredo wrote).

According to these critics…Paul repeats cliches about illegal aliens only doing jobs Americans won’t do, canards about using the Army for mass deportations, and comes out for some kind of “generous visitor worker program” that bars participants from receiving government benefits. Paul remains opposed to amnesty — though Tancredo characterizes this last position as “amnesty with an ‘asterisk’” — and birthright citizenship, but is also against Arizona’s SB 1070, E-Verify, and employer sanctions against hiring illegal aliens.

What has long separated Paul from open-borders libertarians is his belief in borders and national sovereignty, plus his agreement with Milton Friedman that a welfare state cannot have unlimited immigration. But he has never to my knowledge been interested in restrictionism per se…

There are also legitimate civil libertarian concerns with some of the restrictionists’ pet legislation, like Real ID.

But if these Liberty Defined summaries are accurate, it does represent a shift in Paul’s immigration rhetoric…

Now, December 21 is the day that the FCC assaulted the internet by imposing net neutrality – after congress rejected it – after the courts rejected it.

And they did it anyways.

Now, people think I’m making it up, or exaggerating, or any number of other things when I talk about marxism in context of net neutrality. Ok.

A multitude of different inside sources both publicly and privately, including one individual who personally worked with Bin Laden at one time, told us directly that Osama’s dead corpse has been on ice for nearly a decade and that his “death” would only be announced at the most politically expedient time.

That time has now come with a years-old fake picture being presented as the only evidence of his alleged killing yesterday, while Bin Laden’s body has been hastily dumped into the sea to prevent anyone from finding out when he actually died.

The first reports of Osama bin Laden’s death told us that he was buried within 24 hours of his death, and “at sea,” because “finding a country willing to accept the remains of the world’s most [notorious] terrorist would have been difficult.” So we would assume there would be physical evidence of the death if there is no body.

That would presumably be photographic identification or DNA evidence. During the Vietnam War, the military on the ground was notoriously unreliable about physical evidence in combat.

Because if I have this right, “the sea” is at least 800 miles from the Abbottabad region of Pakistan where reports say bin Laden was killed. How did they get him from there to the sea? Did they drop him out of an airplane or travel by land convoy 800 miles with the six-and-a-half-foot corpse? Then other reports said the body was delivered to Afghanistan. Did they bring him to Afghanistan and then bring him to the sea? That would have been more than a thousand miles to haul the corpse.

There is a simple reason why we don’t have constitutional government: By and large, most Americans don’t want it. In fact, most don’t even know what it would entail.

This is true even of most people who preach adherence to the Constitution.

Just recently I lunched with a fellow commentator, an extremely nice man (he really is) who is part of the conservative blogosphere. As you might imagine, politics, religion and philosophy were the stuff of our conversation, and we found ourselves largely in agreement until….

That is, until the issue of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) somehow arose and my amiable colleague started singing its praises.

This prompted me to aver that, good idea or not, the act is unconstitutional. My lunch mate didn’t deny this — but nor did he accept it. Instead, he provided a few reasons why he believed it was necessary, despite my pointing out that constitutionalism is not a pick-and-choose proposition.

As we see the democrats and media slobber over credit for getting Osama I am struck by the recurring thought that not only did Obama vote against this war, but just a few eeks ago he and his henchmen were threatening to cut off military pay checks if the republicans didnt okay a budget extension.

According to the administration timeline Obama was considering this attack while threatening to stop military pay.

A computer programmer, startled by a helicopter clattering above his quiet Pakistani town early Monday, did what any social-media addict would do: he began sending messages to Twitter.

After liveblogging and speculating for several hours over what happened, it dawned on Athar and those following him that they were witnessing bin Laden’s final moments.

“I think the helicopter crash in Abbottabad, Pakistan and the President Obama breaking news address are connected,” said one of Athar’s followers.

Seven hours after Athar’s first tweet, President Barack Obama announced bin Laden’s death in an operation by U.S. forces where one helicopter was lost.

“Eight hours and about 35 tweets later, the confirmation came: “Osama Bin Laden killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan,” Athar reported. “There goes the neighborhood.”

For the Washington Post’s Petula Dvorak the sight of American college kids celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden outside of the White House gates, on Sunday night, was “almost vulgar.”

In a May 2 story Dvorak described the scenes of joy as “one part Mardi Gras and two parts Bon Jovi concert” but then went on to say “It felt a little crazy, a bit much. Almost vulgar” and went on to admit “my first reaction was a cringe.”

…your efforts to obtain the birth certificate of Barack Hussein Obama …took the attention off the correct subject. Hopefully, you did not do that on purpose. That would make you part of the Obama conspirator organization and complicit in his violations to our Constitution.

This issue is not about where Obama was born. This issue is about his citizenship. Did Obama ever hold a dual citizenship or foreign citizenship that he accepted as an adult?

As the new certificate of live birth points out, his father, Obama Sr., was a citizen from Kenya…Therefore, (Obama)inherited Kenya citizenship from his father.

Please note that … Obama and the media are trying to demean those who are questioning Obama’s qualifications to serve as president as “radicals” stating that “now Obama has proved where he was born.”

The media …kept trying to frame the debate as being about Obama’s birth place … and you helped them… You either played into their hands or you conspired to help them. So are you a fool or a conspirator?

…And that real issue is this: did Obama ever use foreign citizenship as an adult? If he did, then he disqualified himself from being able to be president of the United States according to 8 USC 1481 which states that natural born status is lost if the person has become naturalized in another country.

A citizen of the USA can hold dual citizenship. But the office of president disallows any person …from ever having a dual or foreign citizenship and be able to be president.

…Why did Obama spend multi millions of dollars in legal fees to seal his college documents and his passports and his birth certificate? What is on them? Did he use foreign citizenship as an adult?

The world was aghast at the ignorance of Pastor Terry Jones and of his quest to burn a Koran. No matter that Islam is a false religion that beheads Christians. No matter that Gen. Petraeus burned Bibles in Afghanistan so as to appease the Muslims. No matter that Pastor Jones was exercising his rights, it was almost universally condemned.

Petraeus and other Pentagon brass-holes especially blasted the act of burning Korans, stating this puts innocent lives at risk. It put our troops in more serious danger.

That leads us to what happened yesterday. Barack Obama has killed Osama bin Laden. By Executive Order, the death of bin Laden was carried out and his body was buried at Sea.

Timing in life is everything they say.

Like perhaps a few million others, last night at 9:00 pm CST, Jerry Rivers aka Geraldo Rivera, on FAUX News Network announced the putative president would speak at 10:30 pm EST on a Sunday night. Immediately networks went on “high alert” because no one could remember a president calling a 15-minute press conference on a Sunday night, so it must be important. Speculation swirled about that it had to do with the US killing Mummar Gaddafi’s son and three of his grand children. Aren’t we a great super power?

But, by 11:00 pm EST, it turned to Osama Bin Laden. He’s dead! But, still no Barry Soetoro at the mike. I finally went to bed 30 minutes later. According to news reports, the usurper took to the mic just before midnight EST. How come there was a delay of almost an hour and a half? The press conference is called for 10:30 pm EST. One would think Barry would have had his notes together and ready to go for such a historic statement to the American people. I wonder what last minute details were being finessed?

Isn’t it ironic, when liberals kill they are able to pocket their pride and intellectual superiority and finally celebrate the war against terrorism — “by killing a terrorist” — “the terrorist.”

It reminds me of an Ann Coulter quote; “Here the country had finally given liberals a war against fundamentalism and they didn’t want to fight it. They would have, except it would put them on the same side as the United States.”

Do the liberals realize that they have now crossed over to our side in rooting for the US to win in the war on terrorism — How can they stand it, I bet they feel dirty.

Isn’t it ironic that everything that the Bush administration had put in to place to protect and defend the US is coming full circle…under a liberal president. The Patriot Act, Gitmo, and no civil trials for terrorists…all previously denounced by then candidate obama.

Yes, Osama …is dead. However, the President could not resist the urge to stretch …the truth during his announcement. It’s a shame really, that he chose to sour what could be his greatest accomplishment by adding an untruthful statement.

…President Obama told the nation late tonight that he made the capture or killing of Osama Bin Laden a “top priority” and instructed CIA Chief Leon Panetta to make this job number one. That’s great! If only it were true.

Unfortunately this is another example of Obama’s revisionist history. From the Official Obama Administration Scandals List…

Obama Flip Flopped on Capturing Osama Bin Laden January, 2009 – Politico: “During the presidential debates last year, Obama declared that capturing or killing Osama bin Laden “has to be our biggest national security priority.” In his first TV interview after winning the election, he said the terrorist leader was “not just a symbol. He’s also the operational leader of an organization that is planning attacks against U.S. targets,” and that the additional troops being sent to Afghanistan would hunt him down because “capturing or killing bin Laden is a critical aspect of stamping out Al Qaeda.” Bin Laden’s significance to Obama dissipated during the transition. By the time Obama gave another interview in early January, he said killing or capturing bin Laden was not necessary to “meet our goal of protecting America.” A few months later, when he announced his Afghanistan troop surge, he made no reference to the hunt for bin Laden.

Seems now that he got Bin Laden, he wants to go back to believing his own campaign talk.

It’s not the first time Obama has gotten his facts about Osama wrong. He did it on December 1st, 2009 speaking at West Point… -
