Things stir beyond the frontiers. If we are not to swirl down history’s drain while singing We Shall Overcome, perhaps we should begin again to pay attention to ability. It is one thing, and a good thing, to insist on equality of opportunity. Them as can cut the mustard should have access to mustard. But affirmative action, meaning the hiring of those who would not be hired on their merit, lowers competitiveness in a world that is not going to cut the US any slack. White European males have been far away and gone the world’s most bounteous fountains of the sciences. Maybe we should keep them, even encourage them. The deliberate enstupidation of the schools to favor the unable, to make those who can’t or won’t look as if they could or have, is auto-Kevoirkian governance.
If those who detest white European males can do better, they should. Show me. I am waiting. Meanwhile, let them eat goose who do not like golden eggs.

THE MYTH OF THE PUBLIC SERVANT: THE OATH TO “PRESERVE, PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.” : EDRIVERA.COM
Law enforcement, the cop, deputy sheriff, highway patrol man or other bona fide badge bearer, only enforces the written law. The “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” should apply exclusively where government’s written laws do not, however, instead written government law has replaced the “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” everywhere.
The myth of the public servant exists to perpetuate the myth that George Washington refused compensation so that he could be a public servant. George Washington gave up compensation so that he could found a dynasty of presidential dictators.
To go beyond the myths, you need a guide and the Basic Course in Law and Government is that guide.
I attended UCLA Law School from 1968 to 1971 and I was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1972. I was a faithful dues paying member of the Bar until 2006, when I was disbarred for telling the truth about law in America.
The truth about the law is there is no law except the orders created by government bureaucrats. You are being ordered about and you call it democracy, because you could vote for the official who casts the aye or nay vote on how you are to live your life.
It is impossible to learn the law from anyone else.
Every other source of legal education will support your continued enslavement by federal, State or local government.

Will the Lone Star state turn blue in 2012?
In the poll’s match-ups, President Barack Obama loses Texas to every notable Republican except Perry and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. If the ballot came down to Perry and Obama, 47 percent of poll respondents said they would vote for Obama. Forty-five percent said they would cast a ballot for Perry.
The most elected Republican in the poll? Mitt Romney.
The poll found that Obama would garner 42 percent of the Texas vote to 50 percent for the former Massachusetts governor. The president trailed Texas Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, by 5 percentage points, 40 percent to 45 percent.
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann leads in Texas, 47 percent to Obama’s 44 percent. Obama also loses to former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty by 1 percentage point.
Obama would beat out Palin for the state with 46 percent of respondents casting a ballot for his second term and 44 percent voting for Palin…..

The appeals court ruled today in favor of Obama’s “health reform”
The court said Affordable Care Act is a ‘valid exercise’ of congressional power.
Here’s all you need to know. The United States of America is hanging by a thread. If this abomination of a law is upheld by the Supreme Court, several state legislators will defend the constitutional right of their citizens. The gravity of the decision to come by the Supreme Court cannot be mitigated. If this law stands, there will be secession – and the Keynesian Kenyan will likely not leave well enough alone. Since he came here to destroy this country from the day he popped out of nowhere, he would no doubt declare war on the more virtuous half of this land that should be called the GFSA (God Fearing States of America).
If this saboteur wins re-election in 2012 and has his way with this nation for another four years, following is a projection of what the intellectually indolent media will be saying :
“Look at the parallels between Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln… He’s a second coming of Lincoln, from Illinois, he announced his candidacy in front of the state house where Lincoln served, he campaigned in front of Lincoln images in 2007, he served the same menu at his inauguration, was sworn in on Lincoln’s Bible… AND NOW – he presides over America’s SECOND CIVIL WAR…”
But the leftist sycophants won’t be explaining that this man deliberately instigated and picked at every wound, sowed discord in every fathomable way and deliberately CAUSED the WAR!
His administration has methodically divided this nation day by day, step by step.
This corrupt regime is suing a litany of Border States for simply enforcing the federal laws for which this centralized government was constitutionally chartered – protecting the borders.
They are forcing the states to sue them for forcing citizens to participate in his Marxist healthcare scam. In a time of multiple wars he has forced the legal approbation of homosexuality within all branches of the military.
This Trojan horse is not content to stop there as his administration now seeks to promulgate homosexual “marriage” within the ranks of the military and indoctrinating our soldiers sowing discord in the midst of their engagements.
They are now spitting in the faces of grieving families as they fight to prohibit the use of the word God or Jesus at military funerals of our fallen soldiers (as we have seen this very week in the news).
This administration has worked tirelessly to prevent the enemy combatants from being tried at military tribunals, instead granting these terrorists “constitutional rights” in our own judicial system – rights of a constitution these enemies themselves abhor and are fighting to destroy!
And today, on the same day this federal court upheld this effrontery against our nation, Obama castigated our congress for attempting to save this nation from bankruptcy, demanding like a petulant child that they RAISE taxes in order to codify what will be the death knell to our economy.
This man who was raised by leftists in a disfunctional family, despising every principle upon which this great nation was founded is like a culmination of all our national sins, embodied in one very real individual. He has a plan for America and it makes fictional stories like The Manchurian read like Disney.
An organization that represents the 75 percent of American citizens who want more control over illegal immigration is calling for the impeachment of Barack Obama over his involvement in the transfer of weapons to Mexican drug lords and his efforts to provide amnesty to illegal aliens.
“President Obama is no longer the legitimate president of the United States,” said William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, in calling for the action today.
“By arming drug and human smugglers with assault weapons that have been used to kill American and Mexican citizens and police forces, and by ordering amnesty for illegal aliens which has been rejected by both the Congress and the American public more than eight times, Obama has committed a form of treason against the United States and must be removed from office by Congress,” he said.

Fallon Was In Charge Of General Petraeus – ‘The Perfumed Prince’
RUSH: Freshman Republican Senator Marco Rubio has had his own name for Barack Obama, and this is classic as well. This is from National Review Online at their Corner blog: “Rubio tells us that he will respond to Obama’s recent press conference, where the president reveled in class-warfare bluster. ‘Quite frankly, I am both disappointed for our country and shocked at some of the rhetoric,’ he says. ‘It was rhetoric, I thought, that was more appropriate for some left-wing strong man than for the president of the United States. Talking about corporate jets and oil companies,’ Rubio says, missed the point. ‘Everybody here agrees that our tax code is broken,’ he says, and he is open to discussing tax reform.
“‘But don’t go around telling people that the reason you are not doing well is because some rich guy is in a corporate jet or some oil company is making too much money.'” Well, that’s all Obama’s got. All he has is class warfare. You know, Obama’s out there chiding the Republicans for not acting like grownups. So when’s he gonna go answer questions about jobs or the economy? He just… I don’t know. The White House says they’re gonna host a Twitter town hall with President Obama on July 6, and that’s where the president will answer questions submitted via Twitter which limits messages to 140 characters. “The town hall will focus on jobs and the economy and a video feed of Obama’s answers will be streamed online.” So he’s gonna go answer questions about jobs and the economy on Twitter.
Now, let’s examine Obama a little bit from yesterday, folks. There’s only one reason to play the Fear or the Race or the Sick Children or the Homophobe Card, and that is when you have a losing hand. You have to examine Obama here in the context of his life. He’s never been in this position in his entire life. He has finally had to make decisions — as an executive, not as a voting senator — and those decisions that he’s made have produced results, and the results are disastrous. The results are horrible, and what he’s going to do is parade those horribles in front of the country and try to say that the Republicans are to blame for all this. But these results have come back to haunt him.
They are worried in the White House. They are terrified. They’re not
“THE EXPRESS LANE TO NATURAL BORN CLARITY.
The US Supreme Court definition of an Article 2 Section 1 natural-born citizen as stated in Minor v Happersett is strictly limited to those persons born in the United States to parents who were citizens. Below, I will make this crystal clear with stealth to reduce the complexities of the issue into a refined exposition and mantra the average citizen will easily comprehend.
NATURAL BORN CLARITY
The Supreme Court in Minor specifically avoided construing the 14th Amendment as to the issue of whether Virginia Minor was a US citizen. Instead, the Court looked no further than the natural-born citizen clause in Article 2 Section 1. The Court held that Minor was a member of the “class” of persons who were natural-born citizens. They defined this class as those born in the US to “parents” (plural) who were citizens. (For more detailed analysis of this issue, see my two previous reports, here and here.)
The Court also noted that the “citizenship” of those born to non-citizen parents was subject to doubt. Since Virginia Minor was in the class of natural-born citizens, that doubt didn’t need to be resolved. The Court exercised judicial restraint and thereby avoided construction of the 14th Amendment as to the citizenship issue.
Such avoidance and restraint were called for. In order for the Court to act, there must be a genuine controversy with regard to the laws in question. Since there was no controversy before the Court involving a 14th Amendment citizenship issue, the Court decided the issue on other grounds, specifically Article 2 Section 1.
Now we turn to US v. Wong Kim Ark. In that case, the US Supreme Court held that (some) persons born in the United States of alien parents were “citizens”. In doing so, the Court stated that it was specifically construing only the 14th Amendment. And here lies the rub of clarity:
If Wong Kim Ark had been a natural-born citizen, the Supreme Court would never have reached the 14th Amendment issue (just as it didn’t reach it in Minor.)
That statement is a perfectly true mantra. Read it again… and again, until it sinks in. Then share the mantra. There is no antidote for it. There is never an antidote for truth.

Massachusetts Case Will Set Precedent Regarding Videotaping Of Cops

They charged Simon Glik with felony wiretapping, disturbing the peace and aiding the escape of a prisoner – even though all he did was hold up a video camera – and the man they were arresting did not escape.
The charges were quickly dropped and Glik eventually filed a lawsuit for false arrest, claiming his First and Fourth Amendment rights had been violated.
A judge denied that motion and they appealed, which brought the issue back to court last week.
Now another judge will decide whether the cops will be granted qualified immunity, which would set a legal precedent that cops can basically make unlawful arrests of citizens who videotape them without fear of repercussions.

The methods and strategies of the government’s assault against Waco had been used for years by the military, but against foreign governments and their leaders, not against the domestic citizenry. The most familiar case of foreign intrigue was the government’s attack on Manuel Noriega, in which it used similar tactics (blaring music, planting evidence, spreading disinformation), and therein lies the connection between foreign policy and domestic. Anything a government allows itself to do to foreign countries will eventually be done at home. That’s one reason George Washington warned us against foreign entanglements.
We may never know the full truth about Waco or the extent of government perfidy, but we can draw lessons from the experience. This particular event was a fiasco, but it also tells something about what our government has become: “the organizer-in-chief of society,” as Bertrand de Jouvenel said, which is “making its monopoly of this role ever more complete.” It is a parasite and a monster that acts to protect itself. Mises was right: government’s nature is coercive. It is “beating, killing, hanging.” Coercion is necessary in society to protect the rights of property holders against those who do not respect property. But when government itself become the source of arbitrary violence, we have tyranny. That’s why unchecked power should never be invested in a centralized government, even one with a democratic mandate. This power will invariably be exercised at the expense of peaceful social relations.
In its dealings with the community of believers at Mount Carmel, the central government abandoned the moral promise of a free society, and, as all tyrannies eventually do, ignored its own standards of law and ethics. But it paid the price of losing some measure of public confidence, which is already at historic lows. A government that governs by fear alone eventually finds itself unable to govern at all.

Why is Obama apparently defying federal law by funding ACORN?
Worse yet, the grant funds a political agitation and indoctrination program. Here’s HUD’s euphemistic description of the program:
Education and Outreach Initiative grants (EOI) – HUD awarded $6.8 million to organizations that educate the public and housing providers about their rights and obligations under federal, state, and local fair housing laws. Groups will also conduct fair lending workshops, community meetings, and individual counseling activities focused on homeowners at risk for discrimination.
According to HUD, the grant money came out of fiscal 2010 appropriations.
That’s a big problem.
As I reported previously, in 2009 Congress passed four separate appropriations bills that contained language blocking federal funds from flowing to ACORN during federal fiscal year 2010, which ran from Oct. 1, 2009 through Sept. 30, 2010. All four laws prevent ACORN and its affiliates from receiving taxpayer dollars.
Yet despite the ban, President Obama, who worked for ACORN as an employee and as the group’s lawyer, found it in his heart to hand over $79,819 of your money to his thug friends at ACORN.
As I warn in my new book, Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers, ACORN is still with us, doing its best to destroy American capitalism and democracy.
The group is gearing up right now to make sure President Obama gets reelected in 2012. Its state chapters have adopted assumed names and remain active. Project Vote, ACORN’s vote manufacturing factory, continues to operate unmolested in ACORN’s Washington, D.C. office.
You’ve been warned.

IS SHARIA LAW BEING IMPLEMENTED IN AMERICA BY STEALTH?
by One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet
(Jun. 30, 2011) — At the conclusion of “What? Me Offended? You Bet,” we were introduced to the American acronym of the word “JIHAD”: Join in Halting America’s Destruction. Since that article was written, America has opened her arms and welcomed the Muslim Brotherhood: you know, the Iranian-sponsored terror organization that overthrew the Egyptian leader and is now starting to implement Sharia Law there by killing Christians, amongst others.
Muslims have taken over countries for centuries and have perfected the method of doing so as a purely predictable science. Step One is to convince the populace that is being conquered that Islam is a “peaceful religion” rather than a Totalitarian system of government that renders women second-class citizens who have absolutely no control over their lives and, consequently, live a life of horror as slaves and subject to an “honor beating” or an “honor killing” at the whim of their male handlers, be they a father, uncle, brother, husband, or religious police, such as the Taliban.
The second step that Muslims force upon an unsuspecting people is

When Glenn Beck signs off today at the end of his last Fox News cablecast, he will leave a TV legacy of reckless, divisive and ugly speech in his wake. He and Fox News should both feel some shame for the harm they have done to the national political discourse — how they have taken an hour of dinnertime each weeknight and used it to help polarize us with paranoid and angry words.
But, of course, Fox and Beck seem to have no shame, do they? In the case of Fox News, it thinks good ratings are all that matter. And in the case of Beck, it’s all about the new projects he has and his claim to make $30 to $40 million a year, with only a tenth of that having come from Fox.
Good for them and their skewed value systems.
I will tell you something, I did much of my Ph.D. dissertation research on the blacklisting of the 1950s, and Glenn Beck’s speech and attacks were as nasty and dirty as any of it. And there is no one who can absolve Fox News for loosening those ugly forces on American life again at a time when we as a nation need to come together to solve massive problems like no time since World War II.
Tell me about how Beck will end his Fox run in third or fourth place overall in cable news ratings, and I’ll ask you at what price? He and Fox did it by speaking to our worst demons and betraying any notion of public trust that comes with being a cablecaster and part of the American press.
Americans are a doomed people for many reasons. One reason is that they are disunited and at one another’s throats and, thus, cannot stand up the tyranny issuing from Washington.
For example, the governments of Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, states that share borders, have been fighting for more than two decades over the water in Georgia’s Lake Lanier, located a few miles northeast of Atlanta. In 2009 a federal district judge ruled that it is illegal for water to be drawn from the lake to meet the needs of Atlanta’s three million residents. The judge stipulated that the three states had until July 2011 to reach an agreement, failing which Atlanta would be restricted to the amount of water it received in the mid-1970s, when its population was less than one-third of its present size.
Obviously, the ruling was a major incentive to Alabama and Florida not to compromise. Either the judge gave no thought to this fact or he was unconcerned that 3 million Atlantans would find themselves in drought circumstances.
At the last moment on June 28, with two days to go before Atlanta was cut off from its water supply, a federal appeals court ruled that the district court judge’s decision was incorrect and gave the US Corps of Engineers one year to make a final decision concerning the allocation of Lake Lanier’s water to the three states.
The 2012 election is underway and it will be a street fight, whose outcome will determine if the United States survives as a republic.
It is futile writing to Congress for the redress of grievances. They are only interested in getting elected, not in representing their constituents.
To me Dangerous Dick is indicative of how far the Congress has degenerated.
Durbin thinks that it is acceptable for an illegal immigrant to become President.
If you recall, it was also Durbin who compared American soldiers to Nazis.
To the untrained eye Durbin may seem like he is either an idiot or insane. He is not.
You see, like his other pals in Congress, Durbin expects to be Senator-for-life along the lines of Haiti’s Baby Doc Duvalier.
Durbin and the Democrats don’t really care about illegal immigrants as future professionals, but as future voters.
By giving illegal immigrants amnesty before the 2012 election, the Democrats believe that they can guarantee an election victory for Obama and regain control of Congress.
And the feeble and impotent Republicans will acquiesce in the hope that they will be the last ones eaten by the crocodile.

The U.S. Supreme Court now sees its central task as comforting the already comfortable and afflicting those already afflicted.
If you are a large corporation or a political candidate backed by lots of private money, be assured that the court’s conservative majority will be there for you, solicitous of your needs and ready to swat away those pesky little people who dare to contest your power.
And remember how sympathetic conservatives are supposed to be to the states as “laboratories of democracy,” pioneering solutions to hard problems? Tell that to the people of Arizona.
They used a referendum to establish a highly practical system of financing political campaigns designed to reduce corruption and give a fighting chance to candidates who decide to forgo contributions from special interests.
The people acted, noted Justice Elena Kagan in a brilliantly scalding dissent, after a scandal in which “nearly 10% of the state’s legislators were caught accepting campaign contributions or bribes in exchange for supporting a piece of legislation.”
Under Arizona’s “clean elections” initiative, candidates who raised a modest amount in very small contributions could receive a lump sum of public money. They could raise no further private funds.

WASHINGTON – The military commander who directed the raid that killed Osama bin Laden is warning that the escalating demands on U.S. special operations forces are hampering their training and could slowly eat away at their combat readiness.
Vice Adm. William McRaven said demand for the elite forces around the world continues to grow, so there often isn’t enough time to train between deployments. And he said the helicopters and other equipment they need are not available to units in the United States who are preparing to deploy.
Special operations forces “cannot indefinitely sustain current levels of overseas presence,” said McRaven, who has been nominated to replace Adm. Eric Olson as commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command. “The resulting pressure on the force and our families is too great, and the pressure is creating a dramatic effect on our readiness.”
He said the short breaks between deployments limit training in key language skills and the regional and cultural expertise that enable the commandos to work well in other countries. And he noted that most of the helicopters needed for training are either at the warfront or in maintenance, making it difficult for aircrews to hone their skills.
The lack of helicopters, aircraft and ships at bases in the U.S., he said, limits training on refueling, live bomb drops or dock landings.
McRaven’s comments came in answer to questions from the Senate Armed Services Committee during a hearing Tuesday and in a written questionnaire obtained by The Associated Press. And they mirror, in part, observations made by Olson earlier this year, when he warned that the elite forces were “beginning to show some fraying around the edges.”

THE CULTURE of VIOLENCE in the AMERICAN WEST MYTHS Vs. REALITY ~ By: Thomas J. DiLorenzo (via ~ BLOGGER.GUNNY.G.1984 ~ (BLOG & EMAIL))
GLENN BECK VS. THE MOB
June 29, 2011
Of all the details surrounding the liberal mob attack on Glenn Beck and his family in New York’s Bryant Park last Monday night, one element stands out. “No, it won’t be like that, Dad,” his daughter said when Beck questioned the wisdom of attending a free, outdoor movie showing in a New York park.
People who have never been set upon by a mob of liberals have absolutely no idea what it’s like to be a publicly recognizable conservative. Even your friends will constantly be telling you: “Oh, it will be fine. Don’t worry. Nothing will happen. This place isn’t like that.”
Liberals are not like most Americans. They are the biggest pussies on Earth, city-bred weaklings who didn’t play a sport and have never been in a fight in their entire lives. Their mothers made excuses for them when they threw tantrums and spent way too much time praising them during toilet training.
I could draw a mug shot of every one of Beck’s tormentors, and I wasn’t there.
Beck and his family would have been fine at an outdoor rap concert. They would have been fine at a sporting event. They would have been fine at any paid event, mostly because people who work for the government and live in rent-controlled apartments would be too cheap to attend.
Only a sad leftist with a crappy job could be so brimming with self-righteousness to harangue a complete stranger in public.
A liberal’s idea of being a bad-ass is to say vicious things to a conservative public figure who can’t afford to strike back. Getting in a stranger’s face and hurling insults at him, knowing full well he has too much at risk to deck you, is like baiting a bear chained to a wall.
They are not only exploiting our lawsuit-mad culture, they are exploiting other people’s manners. I know I’ll be safe because this person has better manners than I do.
These brave-hearts know exactly what they can get away with. They assault a conservative only when it’s a sucker-punch, they outnumber him, or he can’t fight back for reasons of law or decorum.

The dollar collapse will be the single largest event in human history. This will be the first event that will touch every single living person in the world. All human activity is controlled by money. Our wealth, our work, our food, our government, even our relationships are affected by money.
No money in human history has had as much reach in both breadth and depth as the dollar. It is the de facto world currency. All other currency collapses will pale in comparison to this big one. All other currency crises have been regional and there were other currencies for people to grasp on to.
This collapse will be global and it will bring down not only the dollar but all other fiat currencies,as they are fundamentally no different. The collapse of currencies will lead to the collapse of ALL paper assets. The repercussions to this will have incredible results worldwide.

This is the foreword to Lies the Government Told You by Andrew P. Napolitano
Andrew P. Napolitano is a true rarity among judges and media personalities: He is a passionate defender of liberty who understands that the United States Constitution puts strict limits on federal power. Judge Napolitano’s tremendous knowledge of American law, history, and politics, as well as his passion for freedom, shines through in Lies the Government Told You, as he details how throughout American history, politicians and government officials have betrayed the ideals of personal liberty and limited government.
Anyone who knows Judge Napolitano understands that he does not pull his punches or excuse any constitutional violations in order to support any group or political interest. Thus, Lies the Government Told You explains how politicians of both parties have routinely disregarded the constitutional limits on federal power and violated our natural rights.
One of the most important lessons Judge Napolitano teaches is how many shared premises there are by advocates of big government from both the right and the left. For example, Judge Napolitano exposes how both the conservatives’ war on marijuana and the liberals’ war on tobacco are manifestations of paternalism — the idea that government has the legitimate authority to stop adults from doing bad things, like smoking substances that politicians and bureaucrats do not approve of. Of course, smoking, whether of marijuana or tobacco, does have negative health consequences — but respecting the right of individuals to be wrong, as long as they do not interfere with the rights of others, is one of the pillars of a free society.
Lies the Government Told You also avoids the all-too-common error of drawing a distinction between “personal” liberty and “economic” liberty, and focusing on attacks on one type of freedom while ignoring or even supporting attacks on the other category of liberty. When the freedom movement began in the nineteenth century, supporters of liberty, who were then known as “liberals,” made no distinctions between government actions that interfered with economic liberties, such as laws infringing upon private contracts, and government actions that restricted personal liberty, such as limits on the freedom of speech. Supporters of liberty were also likely to understand the grave threat posed to liberty and constitutional government by a militaristic foreign policy. Thus, they were also supporters of peace.
However, beginning in the Progressive Era, promoters of big government co-opted the rhetoric of the promoters of freedom, even stealing the label “liberal.” Whereas liberal once referred to a supporter of freedom, beginning in the Progressive Era, the term liberal began to refer to supporters of the welfare state. The division between supporters of “economic” and “personal” freedoms was accelerated by the Cold War, when many supporters of free markets allowed their (justifiable) loathing of communism to lead them to embrace militarism abroad and limitations on personal freedom at home. Thanks to this division between the supporters of personal and economic liberty, it is not uncommon to find opponents of socialized medicine arguing for the Patriot Act, and supporters of gun control arguing for free speech.
Fortunately, Judge Andrew P. Napolitano is one of a
Franklin Roosevelt manipulated the United States into World War II for years prior to a declaration of war. The Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 was not only not a surprise, but was facilitated by FDR. Abraham Lincoln was a racial supremacist who wanted blacks forcibly removed to Africa. Woodrow Wilson arrested people for speaking German in public. If these facts were as well known as the fiction that has surrounded them, then the information which the government wishes us to accept uncritically about the present day state of affairs would be more vigorously challenged. So here is the lesson: The government has mythologized the past in order to lull us into accepting its version of the present; and the essence of that mythology is the presidency.
When Lincoln stated at Gettysburg that government is of the people, by the people, and for the people, that was government propaganda. The government is not of the people, and it shares none of the characteristics and traits of the people themselves. No less a president than George Washington told us that government is not reason, it is force. Government is a tool, a powerful and a dangerous tool. And so it must be wielded carefully and only when moral, constitutional, necessary, and proper. Government officials are not performing a public service, and they do not regard themselves as public servants. They regard themselves as our masters.
Under the Constitution and the law, as I’ve said time and again on this show, they are employees of the people and ought to serve at our pleasure. When we lionize our government officials, be they Presidents or postal workers, when we mythologize and deify them, when we build temples to worship them, we violate the nature of the service they ought to be performing. Jefferson would be scandalized at the temples we have built for him. Lincoln and FDR would no doubt welcome theirs. If we want to take our government back, we must begin by taking an honest account of what our government has done, ostensibly in our names, and reject the untrue narratives it instead foists upon us. The truth shall set us free.
All presidents but Jefferson have argued that their first job was to keep us safe. All presidents but Jefferson were wrong. If you read the Constitution, you will see that the President’s first job – as Jefferson understood well – is to keep us free.
In October of 2008, the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, a very “elite” combat squad, became the first active duty military unit to be dedicated and deployed for domestic use. This means the virtual elimination of the protections afforded us by the Posse Comitatus Act against federal military forces acting as domestic police. This is certainly an important step toward the implementation of Martial Law.
In January of 2010, President Obama signed Executive Order 13528, which established the Council of Governors. These governors are appointed directly by the president for the stated purpose of building a state/national police partnership. This fascist partnership was put into place to build a “legal” partnership between the federal government’s national military force and the domestic police agencies, so that they became one and the same. The scariest part about this is that this force would be fully controlled by the executive branch of government, making this a federally controlled domestic police force! I wrote about this here.
In 2010 Obama authorized the targeting of U.S. citizens for assassination, thus continuing another heinous Bush policy. Glenn Greenwald of Solon discusses this policy in detail in this article.
I have only touched the surface of course, as these things are only a few of the most obvious invasions of our liberty, but as you can see, these past ten years have brought an avalanche of liberty destroying policies and legislation to our doorstep. We are being bombarded continuously with more bad laws and more police state abuses. This behavior is increasing at an alarming rate, and the populace it seems is still mostly unresponsive to these intrusions by government.
Due to all these government actions, the stage has been set for Martial Law. But will it come, and if so, what events will trigger this state assault on us all? First, just consider where we are currently as a nation. Economically speaking, we are in dire straits. The national debt now stands at 14.3 trillion dollars. That doesn’t count all the hidden debt owed by the taxpayers that is sitting at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which is several trillion dollars more. Also not included are the unfunded liabilities of Social Security, Medicare, and Prescription Drugs, which total over 113 trillion dollars. Current annual deficits are running above 1.5 trillion dollars with no end in sight. And the Fed continues to create money out of thin air, and the government keeps spending. This is a recipe for disaster.
Real unemployment as calculated by the well-respected John Williams at Shadow Government Statistics is 22%, which means that approximately 33,000,000 people are now out of work. The government is only reporting 8.8% by its fraudulent U-3 method, or 13,000,000. When this many people are out of work, a huge drain on the system is the result, and desperation takes hold.
The U.S. killing machine is now openly advancing aggressive wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya, and is covertly involved in military actions in several other countries. Besides murdering innocents abroad, the cost to run the military and to prosecute these immoral wars is over a trillion dollars a year.
Predator drones are being used to murder people in the Middle East on a regular basis, but they are also being used for domestic law enforcement. These computer game-like spying drones can be used for surveillance, and they can also be used for target killing. The fact that they are flying over our towns and cities is frightening.
Our money is being purposely destroyed every single day so that this corrupt government can monetize the massive debt it created. The Federal Reserve is a most willing accomplice in this scheme to bankrupt our society. If in fact our money continues to lose value at this pace, and massive or hyperinflation is the result, our wealth will simply disappear.
The state governments are in deep trouble as well, and they don’t have the power of the printing press to temporarily cover up their mistakes. State pensions are broke in some cases, and vastly underfunded for future obligations in most others. When the checks stop going out, frustration and anger will take over.
The TSA gropes, fondles, and intimidates those traveling daily. This is done to instill fear, and to habituate the sheep like populace into a herd mentality. It is meant to turn the citizens into serfs. The abusive and brutal behavior by state and local police, and other agents of the government, is increasing dramatically. It is increasing in numbers, but it is also increasing in severity. In 2007, Paul Craig Roberts wrote about this in his article titled America‘s Police Brutality Pandemic, but since the time of that writing, this problem has increased exponentially, and is still worsening.
As I said earlier, the stage is set for a police state takeover of our streets. The government has in place all the legislation, tools, and gendarmes it needs to implement Martial Law. It has a militarized police system armed and ready to act. It has a domestic military force trained in urban warfare. It has holding centers ready to house those who don’t go along or who practice civil disobedience. The government has the capability to listen to every conversation, to track our location, to monitor all our computers and email, and can shut down our communication systems, including the Internet at will.
“Everything the State says is a lie, and everything it has it has stolen.”
That’s a pretty radical idea, so this is a radical book.
This is not a book about “public policy,” about how we might limit the rate of government’s growth, or about how to “reform” this or that program. It’s not really even about “getting back to the Constitution.”
Instead, this book is about exposing the criminal acts of our rulers in Washington, and about abolishing and repealing powers and programs wholesale.
How principled is Napolitano here?
Take eminent domain. Even some libertarians decry “eminent-domain abuse” and complain about government taking property for purposes that aren’t a “public use” as the Constitution supposedly requires — as though taking people’s property by force for some purposes might be okay.
Judge Napolitano will have none of that. He writes that the concept of private property inherently entails “the right to exclude [others] . . . even the right to exclude the government.” So instead of wanting to curb the “abuses” or condoning eminent domain in some cases, Napolitano says abolish eminent domain.
Through such stances, Judge Napolitano, here as never before, shows himself to be solidly in the same uncompromising libertarian camp as his fellow LewRockwell.com columnists. Also, throughout the book, he cites names that will be familiar to LRC readers, such as Murray Rothbard, Lew Rockwell, Ron Paul (who wrote the foreword), Thomas DiLorenzo, and William Anderson. And the book takes the “libertarian populist” tone often found on LRC, including just the right balance of scholarly analysis, easy readability, and moral outrage. So if you like this website, you’ll almost certainly like this book.
It shows a lot of courage for Napolitano to take this approach, given that he works at Fox News Channel alongside some people who attack anyone who opposes the warfare and police state as not merely wrong but un-American and evil.
What is it about the government and its agents and employees that they can lie to us with impunity, but we risk being sent to jail if we lie to them?
Throughout this book, I will suggest answers to these and similar questions. As I do so, you’ll see a chip on my shoulder. I am angry that we allow the government to lie to us, that we expect it to do so, and even take comfort in the illusions created thereby. When I told friends about the title of this book, I frequently joked that it would be four thousand pages in length. Most laughed; but none doubted that there have been enough government lies to consume that many printed pages.
When you recall that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States mandate a free and open society, one in which the government works for us, you can see where the chip on my shoulder came from. It is morally reprehensible for any government to lie to anyone over whom it has lawful authority. But in a free and open society where we are the employers, and the government workers are the employees, every government employee — from a public school janitor to a state governor, from a soldier to an FBI agent, from a cop to the President — has a lawful obligation to be truthful to his or her employers, and it is utterly and completely and unconditionally unacceptable to treat as normal that they should lie to us.
And yet, treat it as normal we do. Just look at the names of the chapters in this book — from “All Men Are Created Equal” to “Congress Shall Make No Law . . . Abridging the Freedom of Speech,” from “Innocent Until Proven Guilty” to “Your Boys Are Not Going to Be Sent into Any Foreign Wars” to “We Don’t Torture” — and you will see the stuff of which historical myth is made. Every one of those well-known, well-worn, well-stated canards is a goal the government has never reached but claims it has. Each has become a bald-faced lie, a perpetrated myth, a grasp at power, a monstrous deception. And most of us recognize that.
Why do we believe government-generated myths? Why do we allow the use of myth to enhance government power? Why do we condone the government’s use of deception to crush our freedom, steal our property, and destroy our lives? And how does the government get away with all this?
These are the questions we will explore in the coming pages
An old thread with a 1939 conservative booklet (”The Revolution Was”) about FDR and the New Deal. It’s all happening again, almost down to the same wording that Obama uses. It is a long booklet, but here is an excerpt as pertains to “obscene profits”.
In his first inaugural address, March 4, 1933, the President said: “… Yet our distress comes from no failure of substance…. Plenty is at our doorstep, but a generous use of it languishes in the very sight of the supply…. Practices of the unscrupulous money-changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men…. They know only the rules of a generation of self-seekers…. Yes, the money-changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths. The measure of that restoration lies in the extent to which we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit.”
There was the pattern and it never changed. The one enemy, blameable for all human distress, for unemployment, for low wages, for the depression of agriculture, …. for want in the midst of potential plenty — who was he? The money-changer in the temple. This was a Biblical symbol and one of the most hateful…
Large profit as such becomes therefore a symbol of social injury, merely because it is large; moreover, it is asserted that large profit had long been so regarded by the government and penalized for that reason.
Of all the counter symbols this was the one most damaging to the capitalistic system. Indeed, if it were accepted, it would be fatal, because capitalism is a profit and loss system and if profits, even very large profits, are socially wrong, there is nothing more to be said for it. But it was a false symbol, and false for these three reasons, namely: first, there is no measure of large profit; second, large profits are of many kinds and to say simply that large profits are “of course made at the expense of the neighbors” is either nonsense or propaganda, as you like; and; in the third place, the history is wrong….
So, what the New Deal really intended to do, what it meant to do within the Constitution if possible, with the collaboration of Congress if Congress did not fail, but with war powers if necessary, was to REORGANIZE AND CONTROL THE WHOLE ECONOMIC AND THEREFORE THE WHOLE SOCIAL NETWORK OF THE COUNTRY.

Honor never grows old, and honor rejoices the heart of age. It does so because honor is, finally, about defending those noble and worthy things that deserve defending, even if it comes at a high cost.
In our time, that may mean social disapproval, public scorn, hardship, persecution, or as always, even death itself.

Having created an economic depression, the same government then threatened the end of the world as we know it unless we all acquiesced in giving trillions of dollars to the financiers of the Democratic and Republican parties, the big Wall Street banks. More than 70 percent of the public opposed this according to opinion polls which, during the presidential campaign, were treated as Holy Gospel by the media and Washington elite. When billionaire New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg sued the Fed to learn who, exactly, the money was given to, the federal courts essentially gave him a great big middle finger and told him to get lost.
During the 1970s many American pundits ridiculed the British practice of bailing out failing industries because it caused “the British Disease,” i.e., a grossly inefficient and uncompetitive economy. Subsidizing business failure breeds more failure. We are now doing the same thing, but many orders of magnitude greater. The most egregious example of this disastrous policy is the billions of tax dollars promised General Motors and Chrysler and their productivity-destroying unions.
