An Israeli newspaper columnist is scorching Barack Obama as possibly the worst U.S. president in history, calling him “a living and breathing nightmare.”

Yigal Walt of Ynetnews says Obama “is solidifying his status as the worst president in American history. The leader who promised us a bright future of peace and fraternity is leading the American empire – and the rest of the world with it – into a dark abyss.”

“Ever since he settled into the Oval Office, Obama has been hopping from one disaster to the next, making every possible mistake, boosting enemies and disregarding allies while ruining everything he touches in the process,” Walt writes.

“The Return of the Great Depression” warns everyone “it is not over. It has only begun” …

He says Obama was silent when the masses hit Iran’s street and threatened to topple the ayatollah’s regime.

“Why should he support a struggle waged by freedom-hungry citizens against a radical Islamic dictatorship and chronic human rights violator? And so, a rare opportunity to change the face of a state that today constitutes the gravest threat to world and regional peace slipped away.”

Daily Kos writer: We could use ‘global superplague’ to stop overpopulation

August 21, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A prominent left-wing American political blog has come under fire after publishing one writer’s quip that the world needs “a global superplague” because “there are too many goddam people already.” Daily Kos contributor Jon Stafford’s August 10 post, in which Stafford described himself as “Not Pro-Choice, Pro-Abortion,” drew immediate attention in the blogosphere.

While Stafford said that his remarks are partly “facetious,” he went on to say, “nevertheless there is a seed of truth in it, because I believe that the world is wildly overpopulated and that we must take steps as a society to reduce it.

“This will undoubtedly be met with accusations of callousness, but we would could really use is a global superplague. The Black Death may have been horrible, but without it there would never have been a Renaissance.”

In the same blog post Stafford stated his belief in legalizing marijuana and homosexual “marriage” and his radical atheism. Just one day earlier, Stafford had said, “Rick Perry scares me. Michele Bachmann too. Not because they are crazy (although they are), but because they are charismatic and crazy. Because they tap into a strain of crazy that runs deep and strong in this country, a Christian fanaticism that is every bit as ugly as its Islamic counterpart. And every bit as destructive.”

Commenting on Stafford’s post, Population Research Institute President Steven Mosher said, “The world is by no stretch of the imagination, overpopulated.”

“Anyone who argues that the Black Death, which decimated Europe’s population for a hundred years, was a good thing, needs counseling,” Mosher said. “When did it come to be ‘socially liberal’ to espouse genocide? I thought that the Left was supposed to be opposed to such things?”

“Of course,” Mosher continued, Stafford “may think that by not identifying a particular group to be eliminated, he escapes the charge of genocide, but I don’t think so. The history of population control program is replete with examples of the majority ethnic, religious, class, etc., group using abortion, sterilization and contraception to reduce the numbers of the minority group. So, in practical terms, population control is genocide.”

In an interview with LifeSiteNews, American Life League President Judie Brown said, “On a practical matter having nothing to do with the avowed atheist, ‘overpopulation’ is not a problem at all.”

“The real problem is corrupt governments bloated with funds that are donated for the specific purpose of aiding the poor that never get to the poor,” Brown said. “The real problem is politics gone awry. You might summarize it as selfishness.”

Since at least 1774, people in central Virginia have felt small earthquakes and suffered damage from infrequent larger ones. The largest damaging earthquake (magnitude 4.8) in the seismic zone occurred in 1875. Smaller earthquakes that cause little or no damage are felt each year or two.

Earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S., although less frequent than in the western U.S., are typically felt over a much broader region. East of the Rockies, an earthquake can be felt over an area as much as ten times larger than a similar magnitude earthquake on the west coast. A magnitude 4.0 eastern U.S. earthquake typically can be felt at many places as far as 100 km (60 mi) from where it occurred, and it infrequently causes damage near its source. A magnitude 5.5 eastern U.S. earthquake usually can be felt as far as 500 km (300 mi) from where it occurred, and sometimes causes damage as far away as 40 km (25 mi).

FAULTS

Earthquakes everywhere occur on faults within bedrock, usually miles deep. Most bedrock beneath central Virginia was assembled as continents collided to form a supercontinent about 500-300 million years ago, raising the Appalachian Mountains. Most of the rest of the bedrock formed when the supercontinent rifted apart about 200 million years ago to form what are now the northeastern U.S., the Atlantic Ocean, and Europe.

At well-studied plate boundaries like the San Andreas fault system in California, often scientists can determine the name of the specific fault that is responsible for an earthquake. In contrast, east of the Rocky Mountains this is rarely the case. The Central Virginia seismic zone is far from the nearest plate boundaries, which are in the center of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Caribbean Sea. The seismic zone is laced with known faults but numerous smaller or deeply buried faults remain undetected. Even the known faults are poorly located at earthquake depths. Accordingly, few, if any, earthquakes in the seismic zone can be linked to named faults. It is difficult to determine if a known fault is still active and could slip and cause an earthquake. As in most other areas east of the Rockies, the best guide to earthquake hazards in the seismic zone is the earthquakes themselves.

This morning, I double-checked to be sure the word “illegal” was still a word in the dictionary. The Illusion Of Safety, Government Cannot Protect Us

Recent incidents of violence in Norway and London have made us understandably uncomfortable here at home, as many fear that a worsening economy will lead to violence and unrest in American cities. This is why Congress must view the economy as its first priority and a matter of national security: unless and until we get our fiscal house in order to foster economic growth, civil society will continue to deteriorate.

The fundamental lesson every American should learn from these incidents is that government cannot protect us. No matter how many laws we pass, no matter how many police or federal agents we put on the streets, a determined individual or group can still cause great harm. Both Norway and England have strict gun control laws, and London in particular has security cameras monitoring nearly all public areas. But laws and spy cameras are useless in the face of lawless mobs or sick mass killers. Only private individuals on the scene could have prevented or lessened these tragedies. And we should remember that theft, arson, and property damage were not the only criminal acts in London–innocent bystanders were assaulted and killed as well. In those instances deadly force used in self-defense would have been fully justified.

Perhaps the only good that can come from these terrible events is a reinforced understanding that we as individuals are responsible for our safety and the safety of our families. This means, frankly, that we must safely own and use firearms to deter or prevent criminal assaults on our homes and persons. It is absurd to think police or government agents can protect 310 million Americans around the clock.

Thanks to our media and many government officials, however, Americans have become conditioned to view the state as our protector and the solution to every problem. Whenever something terrible happens, especially when it becomes a prominent news story, people reflexively demand that government do something. This impulse almost always leads to bad laws, more debt, and the loss of liberty. It is completely at odds with the best American traditions of self-reliance and individual responsibility.

Do we really want to live in a world of police checkpoints, surveillance cameras, and metal detectors? Do we want to imprison every disturbed or alienated individual who fantasizes about violence? Do we really believe government can provide total security? Or can we accept that liberty is more important than the illusion of state-provided security?

Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference unless they use force or fraud against others. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens’ lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons.

The Post & Email spoke with LCDR Walter Francis Fitzpatrick, III (Ret.) regarding the raid on the gun store, and he told us:

We’ve spoken before about the insidious nature of the attempts by the military to replace civilian police with military police in the United States. This Air Force-led raid on a civilian gun shop in Las Vegas is but another example – and it looks as if the Air Force has gotten pretty aggressive on this – of where you have military policemen exercising military government in a civilian community. There is no reason why a sheriff’s department or police department could not have gone in to this gun shop and effected a law enforcement activity. The reports I have seen say that there was someone from nearby Nellis Air Force Base who took property from Nellis and sold it to someone at the store.

I do not know how that business transaction was carried out – if it was someone walking in with body armor, meals ready to eat – I don’t know what precautions the proprietors of the gun shop took or did not take. But if somebody walks in with jewelry to a pawn shop, there is an obligation on the part of the proprietor, if he or she believes the jewelry has been stolen, to notice police officials. I don’t know if the proprietors of the gun shop were under any suspicion at all that the property was “hot,” but I do know this much: it did not fall under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Air Force to find out………………

Why is the U.S. Military Being Used as Law Enforcement on American Soil?| The Post & Email

Regarding the Posse Comitatus Act, Major Craig T. Trebilcock, a JAG officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, wrote:

The original 1878 Posse Comitatus Act was indeed passed with the intent of removing the Army from domestic law enforcement. Posse comitatus means “the power of the county,” reflecting the inherent power of the old West county sheriff to call upon a posse of able-bodied men to supplement law enforcement assets and thereby maintain the peace. Following the Civil War, the Army had been used extensively throughout the South to maintain civil order, to enforce the policies of the Reconstruction era, and to ensure that any lingering sentiments of rebellion were crushed. However, in reaching those goals, the Army necessarily became involved in traditional police roles and in enforcing politically volatile Reconstruction-era policies. The stationing of federal troops at political events and polling places under the justification of maintaining domestic order became of increasing concern to Congress, which felt that the Army was becoming politicized and straying from its original national defense mission. The Posse Comitatus Act was passed to remove the Army from civilian law enforcement and to return it to its role of defending the borders of the United States.

The same writer maintains that since its passage in 1878, the original intent of the Posse Comitatus Act has been eroded by the executive branch and Congress. He cites examples from 1980 in which Congress passed statutes which provided for exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act which allow the U.S. military to take action on U.S. soil: in the event of a natural disaster, for immigration enforcement, for the “war on drugs,” during a civil disturbance which local law enforcement is unable to handle alone, and for the enforcement of tariffs. Trebilcock also states that presidential power has expanded during the last century and that “The erosion of the Posse Comitatus Act through Congressional legislation and executive policy has left a hollow shell in place of a law that formerly was a real limitation on the military’s role in civilian law enforcement and security issues.”

The Post & Email was the victim of a hack attack last Thursday or Friday which caused many readers to be redirected to a fake website as described in our previous articles here and here. The hacker altered the htaccess file, which has now been locked.

The webmaster of the Terry Lakin Action Fund graciously contacted us and repaired the problem very quickly. We have been told that a “common WordPress hack” was used to redirect readers who used Google and several other search engines.

There were several readers of The Post & Email who contacted this writer and stated the same thing, and we thank them for that……………….

I talked to many Marines that spoke of huge Jaanese and these were usually referred to Manchurian Marines. Can’t say for sure but I seem to remember that some of the conversations were about Tarawa defenders but surely there were scattered units.

In a response to a question asked by Infowars correspondent Robert Wanek at Iowa State University during the recent Ames straw poll, Ron Paul said that the federal government was preparing for civil unrest and martial law in the United States.

Paul was asked for his opinion on whether H.R. 645 (The National Emergency Centers Establishment Act) could lead to Americans being incarcerated in detention camps during a time of martial law.

US voters are not mad. Our stereotype of them is patronising and wrong

America is a country of mad people governed by buffoons. That’s the way a lot of Europeans are content to see it, no matter how much they love the US in other ways. A country of mad people because they are so religious, violent, overweight and in denial about things that look obvious from here but which the flag-wavers over there refuse to get. Governed by buffoons because, for the past half-century, from Lyndon Johnson to George W Bush, no US president was truly respected in much of this continent. Not even Reagan on the right or Clinton on the left. All of them, in various ways, were laughable.

That changed in 2008. With one mighty bound, the nation of mad people became a nation of visionaries, electing not a buffoon but an incredibly cool, incredibly smart, incredibly articulate leader who was so progressive and sensitive that, guess what, he might almost have been one of us. Except that, inconveniently, he wasn’t. But that didn’t matter. We gave him the Nobel peace prize when he’d only been in office for five minutes and drooled whenever he looked in our direction.

Now, with 15 months to go before the next US presidential election, a spectre is haunting Europe. The spectre is the possibility Barack Obama might not be re-elected. In fact it’s more than that. It’s the sense, among a lot of Europeans and a lot of progressives – US ones too – that Obama wasn’t as great as he seemed and that, as a result, he has allowed the mad people to get their act together again and prepare to elect another buffoon next November. Prejudices confirmed. Comfort zone resumed.

GM says bankruptcy excuses it from Impala repairs

NEW YORK, Aug 19 (Reuters) – General Motors Co (GM.N) is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit over a suspension problem on more than 400,000 Chevrolet Impalas from the 2007 and 2008 model years, saying it should not be responsible for repairs because the flaw predated its bankruptcy.

The lawsuit, filed on June 29 by Donna Trusky of Blakely, Pennsylvania, contended that her Impala suffered from faulty rear spindle rods, causing her rear tires to wear out after just 6,000 miles. [ID:nN1E7650CT]

Seeking class-action status and alleging breach of warranty, the lawsuit demands that GM fix the rods, saying that it had done so on Impala police vehicles.

But in a recent filing with the U.S. District Court in Detroit, GM noted that the cars were made by its predecessor General Motors Corp, now called Motors Liquidation Co or “Old GM,” before its 2009 bankruptcy and federal bailout.

Recently, you have probably read a spate of justifiably angry Internet commentaries and watched some truly shocking and sickening videos reporting on and recording the scandal of the ever-increasing instances of senseless, sadistic rogue police brutality throughout the United States. Being provided with a badge, a gun, and a para-military uniform has apparently become a license for their holders to run amok—intimidating, threatening, terrorizing, assaulting, even killing innocent citizens.

Disquietingly, most of the thuggish culprits in the episodes that have received widespread publicity seem to have suffered little or nothing in the way of punishment that fits their wrongdoing—certainly nothing anywhere near the punishment mere “civilians” would have received for the selfsame misbehavior. There are several reasons for this appalling situation. First, police forces seem strangely reluctant to purge from their ranks, on their own initiatives and in thoroughgoing fashion, the brutal, the sadistic, the semi-moronic, and the other degenerate creatures who somehow contrive to join “the Force”—apparently, from the Dark Side—in order to acquire badges and guns wherewith to lord their misbegotten “authority” over other people, even unto killing them. Out of charity, one does not want to conclude that policemen in large numbers lack sufficient personal honor, integrity, and sense of duty to act on their own accord to clean out their own stables. Yet, the fact remains that wielding the shovels would not require the labors of Hercules, because the hard-core undesirables are relatively few, and surely are readily identifiable (especially, after all, by police trained in the latest techniques of “profiling,” reading aberrant facial expressions and body language, and so on).

The Republican governor had said in a post Friday that Facebook censored the item she posted Thursday because it apparently violated Facebook’s community standards.

European royals make do with a less lavish lifestyle than the supposed citizen-executive of a so-called republic.

Rick Perry, governor of Texas, has only been in the presidential race for 20 minutes, but he’s already delivered one of the best lines in the campaign:

“I’ll work every day to try to make Washington, D.C., as inconsequential in your life as I can.”

This will be grand news to Schylar Capo, eleven years old, of Virginia, who made the mistake of rescuing a woodpecker from the jaws of a cat and nursing him back to health for a couple of days, and for her pains, was visited by a federal Fish & Wildlife gauleiter (with accompanying state troopers) who charged her with illegal transportation of a protected species and issued her a $535 fine. If the federal child-abuser has that much time on his hands, he should have charged the cat, who was illegally transporting the protected species from his gullet to his intestine.

So eleven-year-old Schylar and other middle-schoolers targeted by the micro-regulatory superstate might well appreciate Governor Perry’s pledge. But you never know, it might just catch on with the broader population, too.

Bill Clinton thought otherwise. “I got tickled by watching Governor Perry,” said the former president. “And he’s saying, ‘Oh, I’m going to Washington to make sure that the federal government stays as far away from you as possible — while I ride on Air Force One and that Marine One helicopter and go to Camp David and travel around the world and have a good time.’ I mean, this is crazy.”

This is the best argument the supposedly smartest operator in the Democratic party can muster? If Bill Clinton wants to make the increasingly and revoltingly unrepublican lifestyle of the American president a campaign issue, Governor Perry should call his bluff. If I understand correctly the justification advanced by spokesgropers for the Transport Security Administration, the reason they poke around the genitalia of three-year-old girls and make wheelchair-bound nonagenarians in the final stages of multiple sclerosis remove their diapers in public is that by doing so they have made commercial air travel the most secure environment in the United States. In that case, why can’t the president fly commercial?

SWAT Team Busts Through Door Searching for Drugs, No Arrests Made

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Police in SWAT gear busted through a door and searched a Cedar Rapids home for drugs Thursday morning, but came up empty.

At least 12 officers surprised the tenants at 1135 33rdSt. NE when they arrived around 7 a.m. with a narcotics search warrant. Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, a police spokeswoman, later confirmed that nothing was seized from the house.

No one was taken to jail, but the tenants of the house, Justin Davis, 28, and his girlfriend, Erica Lewis, 26, were charged with disorderly house and signed a promise to appear in court, police said. No one was injured during the raid.

Davis said his 5-year-old daughter was in her room when officers busted a hole in the front door. He said he came to the door when he heard a K-9 unit dog barking, and was pulled outside, where he was told to lie face down in his front yard. He said the officers had him at gunpoint.

Davis was visibly upset after police left and mentioned moving out of the area.

“What do you think my neighbors think about me now?” Davis said. “My character has been assassinated, and I’m really upset about that.”

Davis said he and Lewis were handcuffed while officers searched. They were told police had information that there was drug activity at their house.

Hamblin said search warrants are issued only after a judge reviews the evidence collected and signs the warrant. In general, police investigate tips about drug activity by interviewing neighbors, looking through trash and using a drug-sniffing dog, Hamblin said.

“We don’t take just one person’s word, under normal circumstances,” Hamblin said.

Davis said he is on probation and it would be stupid for him to be involved with drugs.

“They should have made sure they had concrete evidence before they knock in someone’s door,” Davis said.

Disorderly house is described as a building or room where someone “resorted to for” illegal activity involving drugs, alcohol, gambling or prostitution, according to a city ordinance.

President Obama issued an executive order yesterday titled, “Establishing a Coordinated Government-Wide Initiative to Promote Diversity and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce.” It’s quite vague, extolling the value of diversity without defining it, and setting up a “government-wide initiative” for “all agencies” that will “develop and issue a Government-wide Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan.” Details later, and the devil, of course, will be in the details.

Still, it’s bad enough already. If government personnel are told to strive for diversity, then of course they will be putting their fat thumbs on the scale to ensure a politically correct racial, ethnic, and gender mix, and that means that there will be divisive, unfair, inefficient discrimination, with the best qualified people not getting hired and promoted.

NY Times hatchet job on Issa may be imploding

The New York Times – the newspaper that once employed Jayson Blair – today appears determined to not retract allegations made in what many believe was an error-filled hit piece on Congressman Darrell Issa, the man leading the House investigation of Operation Fast and Furious.

Through the week, Washington gun rights activists have been following the unfolding controversy, which is actually something of a sideshow to the larger controversy Issa is investigating: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ botched gun trafficking sting that put about 2,000 guns into the hands of criminals here and in Mexico, and has accounted for deaths on both sides of the border.

Today the Daily Caller weighed in after Issa’s office yesterday demanded a retraction. Issa’s office provided the New York Times with a detailed explanation of what it considers factual errors in the story, written by reporter Eric Lichtblau. This column discussed the Times story on Issa, and another blog had this to say. Even blogger Mike Vanderboegh at Sipsey Street Irregulars is weighing in.

Suspicion is growing in the gun rights community that the Times story was aimed at discrediting Issa, focusing public attention on him and drawing it away from his Fast and Furious probe because of embarrassing revelations that taint the Obama administration. The newspaper has blasted Fast and Furious, but never appears to have strayed far from its penchant for demanding tougher gun laws. Even when it editorially criticized the ATF for the gunrunning fiasco, it also saved space to make a smarmy remark about Issa:

For a small-government conservative on the presidential campaign stump like Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a new federal regulation forcing farmers to get commercial drivers licenses would make a perfect example of Barack Obama’s Washington run amok.

But there is no such regulation.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration stepped in to clarify whether the states had the right to do what Illinois had done, and on May 31, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a public notice asking for comment on the commercial licensing of farm equipment.

Many in the farm community saw that notice as evidence that federal regulations were brewing, and the rumor went viral. That speeded up the process in Washington. Last Wednesday, the agency moved to put the issue to rest.

That not only would be a boon to consumers oppressed by hefty prices at the pump but also would go a long way toward ending one of Washington’s favorite accounting gimmicks. The public is supposed to think the 18.4 cents tossed to Uncle Sam for every gallon of unleaded (24.4 cents for diesel) goes to roads and bridges. Fifty-five years ago, it was true that the 3-cent-per-gallon levy went directly into the concrete and steel that gave us the Interstate Highway System. The authorization for most of the current tax expires next month, and Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist fears President Obama will use jobs as an excuse to boost this tax. “His plan is going to be the highway bill,” Mr. Norquist said in an editorial board meeting at The Washington Times. “Everyone wants highways, but you give them the money, they don’t build highways. They build everything but highways.” Out of the $29 billion in fuel-tax revenue collected this year, the Congressional Budget Office estimated $7.6 billion would be diverted into mass-transit projects. That is only part of the problem. One look at the Federal Highway Administration’s budget shows core spending priorities in the “highway” account frequently have nothing to do with highways. For example, the agency allocates $6.8 billion to a “livable communities” program designed to promote a leftist anything-but-the-automobile agenda. Another $8.9 billion will be blown on “environmental sustainability” schemes, and $2.5 billion will go to safety – that’s the code word for paying local cops overtime to set up speed traps and East German-style roadblocks…more

One in Four Marines Would Fire

Results are in from the U.S. military “shoot Americans”

survey-and they are disquieting.

About one in four U.S. Marines would be willing to fire upon American citizens in a government gun confiscation program, according to the results of a survey undertaken nearly a year ago at a Marine Corps base in southern California.

In addition, more that four out of five of the Marines surveyed indicated they would be willing to “participate in missions under a U.S. National Emergency Police Force.”

The SPOTLIGHT has been provided the results to the survey contained in a master’s degree thesis, reportedly undertaken by a student at the Naval -More-Postgraduate School at Monterey, California, to determine “unit cohesion” when soldiers are assigned to “non-traditional missions.”

Few stories published in The SPOTLIGHT have created such a stir as when it was revealed in this newspaper’s July 25, 1994 issue that the survey had been taken at the Marine base.

It’s hard to know where to begin – there are so many things.

We find it suspicious that both Janet Napolitano nor Michael Chertoff have been investigated or charged for their part……………….

In the aftermath of last week’s riots in the United Kingdom, the NYPD has held a “mobilization exercise” to train police to prepare for civil unrest in the United States, while also launching a program designed to spot signs of potential trouble via social networking websites.

The NYPD Disorder Control Unit brought together police from all five of the city’s boroughs to rehearse what the response would be “should out-of-control riots break out here”.

“Approximately 180 police officers total from each borough’s task force, including the horseback and aviation units, came out for the drill,” reports the Metro.

However, unlike in the United Kingdom where the rioters mainly comprised of teenage kids taking the opportunity to steal iPods and other high-end electrical goods, civil unrest in the United States is far more likely to have a political motivation…………………

Why did Japan surrender? (Historian argues Soviet Declaration, Not A-Bomb)

What ended World War II?

For nearly seven decades, the American public has accepted one version of the events that led to Japan’s surrender. By the middle of 1945, the war in Europe was over, and it was clear that the Japanese could hold no reasonable hope of victory. After years of grueling battle, fighting island to island across the Pacific, Japan’s Navy and Air Force were all but destroyed. The production of materiel was faltering, completely overmatched by American industry, and the Japanese people were starving. A full-scale invasion of Japan itself would mean hundreds of thousands of dead GIs, and, still, the Japanese leadership refused to surrender.

But in early August 66 years ago, America unveiled a terrifying new weapon, dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In a matter of days, the Japanese submitted, bringing the fighting, finally, to a close.

On Aug. 6, the United States marks the anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing’s mixed legacy. The leader of our democracy purposefully executed civilians on a mass scale. Yet the bombing also ended the deadliest conflict in human history.

In recent years, however, a new interpretation of events has emerged. Tsuyoshi Hasegawa – a highly respected historian at the University of California, Santa Barbara – has marshaled compelling evidence that it was the Soviet entry into the Pacific conflict, not Hiroshima and Nagasaki, that forced Japan’s surrender. His interpretation could force a new accounting of the moral meaning of the atomic attack. It also raises provocative questions about nuclear deterrence, a foundation stone of military strategy in the postwar period. And it suggests that we could be headed towards an utterly different understanding of how, and why, the Second World War came to its conclusion.

Who Needs Robin Hood?

“It’s time to level the playing field.” “The rich need to pay their fair share.” “We have to end tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.” These are some of the stock phrases used by President Obama and his administration to fire up their troops to picket private homes, gin up mobs to protest success and to channel America towards the future they envision.

Like a one trick pony or an extremely inept coach the Progressives’ playbook has only one option. It’s a Hail Mary pass they run over and over: class warfare. From Marx to Chavez the collectivists have always played the same card from each according to the ability to each according to their need.

Over a century of propaganda and indoctrination has conditioned most Americans to accept one of the most insidious aspects of class warfare as a natural and respectable feature of our government: progressive taxation. At its core progressive taxation is the quintessential action of the Trojan horse the Progressives have constructed to transform America from a representative republic with a capitalist economy into a centrally planned socialist democratic republic.

The shock troops for this movement which has captured the leadership of both major parties is made up of the Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media, unions, crony capitalists, and a conglomeration of front groups and organizations, many of which receive vast amounts of government money. These interest groups constantly agitate for Progressive policies and carry the water for Progressive politicians. They also contribute time, money and resources for the election campaigns of the very Progressive politicians who vote to give them government grants in a circular money laundering scheme which if not illegal is certainly immoral.

State Supreme Court orders broad disclosure of police records (Washington)

In a landmark decision, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday that investigative reports into alleged misconduct by police officers must be made public even if the accusations are not upheld.

Eight of the nine justices found that the reports can’t be withheld on privacy grounds because the public has a “legitimate interest” in knowing how the allegations were investigated.

About Obama’s ‘missing girlfriends’

As WND reported, radio host Rush Limbaugh raised an intriguing question on the air: “Where are all of Obama’s former girlfriends?”

In referring to past email inquiries he received on this subject, Limbaugh continued, “They are interesting because those people haven’t surfaced. There aren’t any ex-girlfriends that have admitted it.”

In fact, I wrote about this question in my book, “Deconstructing Obama,” and on these pages last year. As the likely source of these rumors, I thought I might clarify them, at least to the degree they can be clarified.

As it happens, Obama inadvertently raised the girlfriend issue himself in his 1995 memoir, “Dreams from My Father.” Published when he was 33, “Dreams” documents Obama’s all-consuming search for identity.

Whether he dated white women or black women – and what he might have learned from either – matters, but Obama gives the reader very close to nothing.

“Cosby never got the girl on ‘I Spy,’” he laments in “Dreams,” but in his own retelling, he does not do much better.

Although Obama spent 13 years on the mainland as a single man, on only one occasion in “Dreams” does Obama make any reference to his love life.

In a brief recounting, he tells his half-sister, Auma, that in addition to a white woman he had loved and lost, “There are several black ladies out there who’ve broken my heart just as good.”
