Obama Miffed over Date Rebuff

September 2, 2011 Leave a comment

House Speaker John Boehner’s rejection of President Obama’s request to speak to Congress on September 7 became the focus of the president’s latest plea for campaign donations. Just a few hours after Boehner declined the date and suggested a September 8 alternative, the President’s campaign sent an e-mail to supporters.

“I am the leader of the free world,” Obama contended. “Being rebuffed by Congress does untold damage to my image. This can only harm my ability to effect the transformation for which I was elected to accomplish in 2008. Harming the President like this—some might call it treason.”

The president also hinted that Boehner’s action might be unconstitutional. “Not only was the Republicans’ refusal rude and insensitive—it showed that Boehner doesn’t really care about hurting my feelings—it was also a cruel and unusual punishment. No other President has ever been treated this way. Now, as a Constitutional scholar, I know that ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ is against it.”

The e-mail recipients were asked to give generously in order “to prevent the enemies of democracy from thwarting our drive toward the social justice we pledged to wreak upon America.”

In related news, Vice-President Joe Biden rejected contentions that a long string of policy failures may indicate that President Obama lacks the smarts to handle the job. “There’s no question in my mind that Barack is the brightest guy we’ve ever had as a president,” Biden said. As proof, Biden cited “all the times he’s beaten me at ‘tic-tac-toe.’ It doesn’t matter whether he has the ‘Xs’ or ‘Os.’ He beats me every time. That’s the kind of dominating brilliance this country needs from its leadership.”

JW Uncovers Obama Plan to Impose DREAM Act by Suspending Illegal Alien Deportations

September 2, 2011 2 comments

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the Obama Department of Homeland Security (DHS) detailing behind-the-scenes efforts by the Obama administration to bypass Congress and grant amnesty at least one million illegal aliens by suspending immigration deportation proceedings against “DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act kids” and other illegal aliens…

The records include emails from press outlets investigating the Obama administration’s efforts to suspend the deportations of students who would be covered under The DREAM Act, which was under consideration by Congress. The DREAM Act would have permitted certain immigrant students who have grown up in the U.S. to apply for temporary legal status, eventually obtain permanent legal status, and become eligible for U.S. citizenship if they go to college or serve in the U.S. military. The DREAM Act has failed repeatedly to pass Congress. The DREAM Act initially could provide amnesty for over one million illegal immigrants and would have cost over $6 billion a year….

“These documents show the Obama administration is lying about its stealth amnesty activities and its alarming contempt for Congress and the rule of law. Frankly, these documents show that Obama immigration officials don’t even know what the law is! The Obama administration cannot simply pick and choose which federal immigration laws it will enforce. In its zeal to curry favor with the illegal alien lobby and secure Hispanic votes for a second term, the Obama administration is exercising raw executive power to change the law by granting illegal aliens amnesty in a way that strikes at the heart of our constitutional system and the rule of law. This is a festering constitutional crisis,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton

‘Top Secret America’: A look at the military’s Joint Special Operations Command

September 2, 2011 Leave a comment

A look at the military’s Joint Special Operations Command: Created in 1980 but reinvented in recent years, JSOC has grown from 1,800 troops prior to Sept. 11, 2001, to as many as 25,000. It has its own intelligence division, its own drones and reconnaissance planes, even its own dedicated satellites.

The CIA’s armed drones and paramilitary forces have killed dozens of al-Qaeda leaders and thousands of its foot soldiers. But there is another mysterious organization that has killed even more of America’s enemies in the decade since the 9/11 attacks.

CIA operatives have imprisoned and interrogated nearly 100 suspected terrorists in their former secret prisons around the world, but troops from this other secret organization have imprisoned and interrogated 10 times as many, holding them in jails that it alone controls in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, this secretive group of men (and a few women) has grown tenfold while sustaining a level of obscurity that not even the CIA managed. “We’re the dark matter. We’re the force that orders the universe but can’t be seen,” a strapping Navy SEAL, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said in describing his unit.

The SEALs are just part of the U.S. military’s Joint Special Operations Command, known by the acronym JSOC, which has grown from a rarely used hostage rescue team into America’s secret army. When members of this elite force killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan in May, JSOC leaders celebrated not just the success of the mission but also how few people knew their command, based in Fayetteville, N.C., even existed.

Poll stunner: These American blacks OK with violent attacks

September 2, 2011 Leave a comment

The most dangerous Muslims in America may be black converts to Islam, according to a shocking new poll by the Pew Research Center.

African-American Muslims tend to hold the most violent views among U.S. Muslims surveyed by Pew in a poll released this week.

Fully 28 percent of U.S.-born black Muslim respondents said “suicide bombings and other violence against civilians” can be justified sometimes or at least in rare cases. That compares with 9 percent of foreign-born Muslims who hold the same view.

Pew also found that 11 percent of black Muslims living in the U.S. have a favorable opinion of al-Qaida – more than double the share of U.S. Muslims overall who hold that view. Another 21 percent of black Muslims hold only mildly unfavorable views of the terrorist organization responsible for attacking America 10 years ago; while 56 percent of that segment of the Muslim population hold very unfavorable views.

Get “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America,” autographed, from WND‘s Superstore

The survey results are troubling, because U.S. officials say al-Qaida in recent years has stepped up its efforts to recruit African-Americans to target the homeland for terrorist attacks. English-speaking blacks do not fit the prevailing Middle Eastern terrorist profile, officials say, and al-Qaida recruiters believe they have a better chance of slipping through security checkpoints.

A growing number of black converts have been radicalized in prison or by jihadist websites, officials say.

On September 11, 2001, we would never have believed 10 years later…

… the U.S. government would refuse to call the enemy by name.

… the president would be a far-left socialist, pro-Islamic Black man named Barack Hussein Obama.

… the people of the Western world would be divided about making the bad guys pay.

… some high-ranking politicians would question the ‘official story’ of the 9/11 attacks.

… Christianity would be banned in our public schools while special allowances were made for Islamic students.

the president of the United States would ‘apologize’ to the enemy for being the target of their terror attack.

… the ripples of the attack would cause such widespread disillusionment and polarization with both American political behemoths that a grassroots, back-to-the Constitution movement would be launched in the Tea Party.

… the American people would allow the president to contradict and/or ignore the Constitution at will.

… Canada would replace the U.S. as Israel’s most vocal ally and supporter on the international scene.

… the Canadian Prime Minister would be a Conservative while the U.S. president would be a socialist Democrat,

… the Canadian Prime Minister would have bigger balls than the American President.

… our courts and all levels of government would consider implementing Sharia law.

… it would have become a sin of enormous magnitude to lay blame at the feet of those actually responsible for the terrorist attacks, yet socially acceptable – expected, even – to condemn Christians and Jews to a point beyond religious persecution.

… the ‘official’ 9/11 ceremony would exclude First Responders, creating the need for a separate gathering of remembrance thanks to authentic American patriots like Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.

Gun Owners threaten the power of the left.:

When Robert Baillio was pulled over by a member of the Shreveport police department, he learned that Shreveport Mayor and “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” member Cedric Glover believes firearms belong only in the hands of the police.

In fact Glover is such a believer that his officers are trained to identify likely gun owners for the purpose of harassing them into giving up the practice of driving while armed!….

Did Ron Paul Force Obama to Reschedule a Speech?

Did Ron Paul Force Obama to Reschedule a Speech?

Did Ron Paul Force Obama to Reschedule a Speech?:

Who says Ron Paul can’t beat Barack Obama? The Texas Congressman’s threat to prevent the President’s upcoming speech to Congress from occurring the same night as a Republican presidential candidates’ debate — a debate in which Paul will participate — may very well have been the deciding factor in forcing Obama to postpone his appearance.

Obama sent a letter to House Speaker John Boehner Wednesday morning requesting to speak before a joint session of Congress on September 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Shortly thereafter the White House announced the President’s speech, which is to present his proposed jobs program. There was just one problem: A GOP presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is already scheduled to take place at that same time………….

Would the US Military Stand Down and ‘Empower a Revolution’ If Faced With Riots and Civil Unrest? by Mac Slavo

September 2, 2011 3 comments

Among the many inconsistencies with what’s playing out in the middle east is the question of what our President and Secretary of Defense would ask our own military to do if political protests, riots and violence erupted here in the US. Both seem to suggest that the leaders of these middle eastern countries, as well as their law enforcement and military apparatuses, should stand aside. Would the President of the United States, if faced with riots, molotov cocktails, and gun fire outside of the Capitol building or White House allow the military to “empower a revolution driven by unmet political and economic grievances” of the people?

Estimates suggest that Mubarak resigned amid as many as 2 million protesters in the streets. This is about 3% of Egypt’s population.

If the United States saw similar turnouts at Federal and State government buildings, would our leadership resign without a fight as well? Are we to believe that the same logic being used to compel dictators in the middle east to step down would be applied domestically if the people, in a public show of protest, deemed our government to be tyrannical and it’s leaders dictators? Moreover, does this mean that any such civil disobedience, riots, and gunfire would be ignored by military and law enforcement, who would be ordered to, as Mr. Gates suggested to Syria, stand on the sidelines?

We’d like to believe it is that easy, except we live in a little place we like to call reality………………….

For those who are too broke to get on the housing ladder, an American firm is here to help.

Jay Shafer’s Tumbleweed Tiny House Company makes cute little homes that start from the bargain price of $99.

The cheapest home is a flat-pack to be built by the owner but, if you’re not very handy, there are ready-made versions for $38,997.

All necessities: The homes all have fully functioning kitchens, bathrooms and sleeping areas

The teeny homes, which start at just 65 square feet are kitted out with fully functioning kitchens, bathrooms complete with composting toilets and sleeping areas.

Some models even come on wheels.

As well as being environmentally friendly the homes are affordable for people on meagre incomes.

As the debt problem in the U.S. reaches tipping point Mr Shafer, who lives in one of his houses in Sebastapol, California, says that less can be more.

‘People are starting to get a clue I think,’ he said.

‘People are starting to understand that excess is not necessarily a luxury. It can be a burden, a liability. People are living in 4,000 and 6,000 square foot debtors prisons.’

Obama’s ineligibility: Prepare to defend America – Declaration of Independence II

September 2, 2011 Leave a comment

The United States Government has been hijacked by hopelessly corrupt men and women, who have violated the Constitution and undermined the rule of law in order to pursue personal power and profit at the expense of the American people and future generations.

There is a symbiotic relationship between the fabulously wealthy and our politicians-for-life. The political establishment, both Republicans and Democrats, use taxpayer money to fund special interests in return for kickbacks in the form of campaign funding and other benefits to remain permanent fixtures in Washington, D.C.

Politicians buy votes with our money, then steal our wallets, then repeat the process. It is not capitalism, but socialism for the wealthy. Unfortunately, our permanent politicians are starting to run out of our money.

Poster-boy losers: David Hackworth whacks military’s inexperienced ‘Perfumed Princes’

September 2, 2011 2 comments

Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, the guy who saved our nation during the Civil War, probably wouldn’t make major in today’s Army. He was mule-skinner abrasive, enjoyed his sauce and wasn’t exactly what you’d call a pretty face.

Today most generals and admirals are highly attractive smooth talkers with some sort of master’s degree and a Ph.D. in how to work the corridors of power.

But while these uniformed central-casting smoothies know how to schmooze for funds for their latest silver-bullet project, they unfortunately don’t know how to fight guerrilla wars.

The Somali debacle, and now the recent major foul-up in Afghanistan, prove in spades that our warrior class has lost out to a professional-management culture that’s virtually destroyed our armed forces, less the Marine Corps – which is slowly veering in that direction as well.

Long before the first regular American soldier headed to Vietnam, the hardened vets who’d slugged it out on hundreds of killing fields knew the post-World War II ticket-punching personnel system was on its way toward destroying the leadership needed to win America’s future wars.

Going, going, gone were the days when lieutenants like Frank Gunn stayed with a regiment from the first shot of the war until the last. Gunn led a platoon and company in Africa, was a major by ’43 in Sicily, skippered a battalion in France the next year, and by the end of the war, at the ripe old age of 24, was commanding the storied 39th Regiment fighting across Germany. General Gunn, now retired, became skilled at his trade down in the mud with the soldiers he loved and would have died for – and they, in turn, followed him to hell and back. Gunn never got caught up in the type of career management that produced the current lot of Perfumed Princes. He learned to soldier by listening to his old sergeants and being with the troops.

In Vietnam, officer leaders were churned almost as quickly as customers at Starbucks. Ticket-punching was in, and leading from the front was out. The Washington personnel chiefs’ agenda was to use the war as a training vehicle for officers so they’d have blooded leadership when the big fight with the Soviets exploded.

Post-Vietnam studies concluded ticket-punching was a major cause of our failure, and that the personnel system desperately needed surgery. But nothing was done, and over the years the cancerous system disabled our senior officer corps and is now infecting our proud NCOs. Their foremost concern always used to be for the welfare of their troops and how sharply their unit was trained, not what kind of rating they got on a report. My First Sergeant in Italy took great pride in showing us ‘cruits the chain scars from his time in a Georgia prison. But with his fifth-grade education, the old Top could still run a lean-and-mean company of soldiers.

Afghanistan was going just fine while the old-pro Special Forces sergeants, chiefs and captains were running the fight. But when Perfumed Princes like Maj. Gen. Franklin Hagenbeck – with his M.S. degree in exercise physiology (but no combat experience) and Pentagon punches such as director for politico-military affairs for global and multilateral issues (I kid you not) under his shiny general’s belt – took over the fighting with the conventional, non-mountain-trained 10th Division, our Army came away with that Vietnam Heartbreak Ridge look: high body count without many bodies and too many friendly casualties.

A fine sergeant in Kuwait says it all: “My generals worry about what kind of engraved Buck knives to buy to give as gifts to the foreign generals, do we have enough potpourri-scented Pledge to make sure our mahogany desks are dust-free, color ink for our laser printers, oh and let’s not forget the staffers have to eat better than the rest of the Army, so we have to plan at least one big dinner function so the fat-cats can get fatter. I’ve seen these generals cancel a visit to troops training in the desert so they could drink coffee and have lunch with another general visiting from the War College. Where are their damn priorities?”

The Time for Empty Talk Is Over

September 2, 2011 Leave a comment

As President Obama’s presidential term has unfolded, he has made it increasingly clear what he meant all those times he haughtily said, “I won.” It’s his world, and he has no intention of sharing control over it.

This was on stark display when he attempted to pre-empt the Republican debate with a grandiose joint session of Congress called solely for the purpose of delivering another round of economic propaganda.

He would have us believe that his speech will be of monumental import, but everyone knows, Democrats included, that it will be nothing more and nothing less than a sales job. There will be nothing new in this speech, no new ideas, no new information.

There is never anything new in any of his speeches, including the 50-plus orations he delivered on Obamacare, but he nevertheless keeps going back to the well. He has degenerated into a habitual pattern of presenting an idea and, after the public rejects it, making further speeches to convince us that we are the ones who are wrong. With each new speech, no matter the subject, he ends up with fewer supporters of the proposition in question, yet he remains oblivious to the diminishing returns he is achieving.

He’s been talking about jobs incessantly since his presidential campaign began. When he presented his stimulus package, he wasn’t equivocal; he betrayed no uncertainty. He didn’t say to the American people: “Folks, I am recommending bold action. I realize we just spent nearly $1 trillion on TARP, but I’m asking you to trust me with almost another $1 trillion of borrowed money to try something that might strike you as a dangerous gamble. I’m not sure injecting this money into the economy will stimulate growth, but we have to try something, even if it very well may leave us in an even more precarious national debt predicament.”

Instead, he assured us, with great confidence, that his plan would work and that it would jump-start the economy and get people back to work. He was so sure of his plan that he even acknowledged that his re-election would depend on its success or failure.

Back then, unlike now, he had enormous political capital and the confidence of a great percentage of the American people, many of whom trusted him.

Today we know the results of his reckless experiment. The economy and jobs are tanking, and our exploding debt portends imminent financial collapse.

But from all appearances, he remains as clueless to his economic failures and the bankruptcy of his ideas as he is to their unpopularity with the public. How much more empirical evidence will he need before he quits shoving us toward the cliff?

Perhaps the only thing more difficult than conceptualizing the sheer magnitude of the number 842 billion is trying to figure how anyone could seriously think that injecting more borrowed money would stimulate the economy when $842 billion didn’t. Please ask yourself whether anyone who claims that is an insufficient amount of money to test a theory should have your trust about any subject remotely touching on economics.

And yet that is what the Paul Krugmans and the Obamas would have us believe; the government hasn’t spent enough money, and if we just hire more people to dig and refill ditches, we’ll get back on the road to recovery.

Obama’s reckless experiments would be objectionable enough if the only negative result they generated was to depress an already ailing economy. But he continues to add unconscionable amounts to the national debt as if it’s a nonevent.

It would be one thing if he were to demonstrate any openness to ideas that he hasn’t already tried, ideas that deviate in any way from his leftist playbook.

But any semblance of newness in his upcoming talk will have nothing to do with substance, only packaging. He’s such an inflexible ideologue that he’s incapable of entertaining new ideas. Even if he came to believe, correctly, that the only way out of this nightmare would be to radically reduce spending, structurally reform entitlements, streamline the tax code, relax onerous regulations and restore some certainty and predictability in the business environment, he would not act on those beliefs. He will not pursue an agenda that violates his leftist ideas.

So I don’t have to be clairvoyant to know that his speech will just be more propaganda designed to divert attention from his failed record and upstage his Republican challengers. That’s what makes his stunt to overshadow them all the more reprehensible.

Obama is the one man standing in the way of reversing the economic meltdown and the existential debt threat to this nation. It’s time for him to quit playing games with his speeches and join Republicans in taking remedial action to restore America’s financial health.

America’s Uncle Omar Problem

September 2, 2011 Leave a comment

, September 02, 2011 6:40:15 AM by Kaslin

“Always remember. Never forget.” The phrase is now emblazoned in red across the U.S. Department of Homeland Security website. But as the Obama administration disseminates its talking points to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 jihadist attacks, the White House remains stone-silent about the president’s Uncle Omar problem.

The refusal to deal with Uncle Omar tells you everything you need to know about the emptiness and impotence of Washington’s 9/11 platitudes.

“Omar” is Onyango Obama, the illegal alien deportation fugitive who is the long-lost Kenyan half-brother of President Obama’s father. The president mentioned him in his best-selling book, “Dreams from My Father.” But these days, he’d undoubtedly prefer to whitewash him out of the public eye. Last week, Uncle Omar was arrested for drunk driving in Framingham, Mass., and held on an immigration detainer.

The liquor store employee — yes, he was apparently drinking the inventory that legal Americans weren’t drinking — nearly crashed into a police car and belligerently demanded to ring up the White House. Few in the neighborhood are laughing it off. Just two weeks ago, an illegal alien drunk driver with a mile-long rap sheet mowed down and killed a 23-year-old Milford, Mass., man.

Open-borders advocates will call Uncle Omar “harmless.” But it turns out he’s not only a repeat deportation absconder who has ignored two court orders to leave the country, but he is also a deadbeat who owes thousands in back taxes and a fraudulent Social Security card-holder who has managed to evade authorities for half a century.

The policy that allowed Omar to disappear is “voluntary departure” — a security-undermining mechanism that allows illegal alien border-jumpers and visa-overstayers to simply deport themselves after going through the federal immigration court system. Omar lost his first case to stay in the country in 1989; he lost a second bid with the Board of Immigration Appeals in 1992.

Then, as 400,000 to 700,000 illegal alien deportation absconders have done over the past two decades, Omar simply thumbed his nose at the law again and treated his entry into America as an entitlement instead of a privilege.

Omar will now appeal any deportation proceedings a third time with the help of the same Ohio law firm that represented his illegal alien deportation fugitive sister, Zeituni Onyango. Aunt Zeituni arrived in the U.S. in 2000 on a temporary visa. Her asylum request was rejected in 2004. She defied the immigration court order to go back to Kenya, moved into Boston public housing, and hid with relatives for years before winning a second bid to stay in the country she’s since trashed publicly numerous times.

As I reported exclusively in November 2008, when Aunt Zeituni’s case exploded before Election Day, sympathetic Bush administration officials ordered immigration authorities across the country to halt all deportation enforcement actions until after the campaign season was over. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) source familiar with Western field offices told me at the time: “The ICE fugitive operations group throughout the U.S. was told to stand down until after the election from arresting or transporting anyone out of the U.S. This was done to avoid any mistakes of deporting or arresting anyone who could have a connection to the election, i.e., anyone from Kenya who could be a relative. The decision was election-driven.”

Now, we know there was at least one other Obama deportation fugitive hiding in plain view who benefited from the freeze.

More damningly, we know that both Republican and Democratic administrations continue to play politics with homeland security while paying lip service to the 9/11 dead.

After the attacks, DHS officials discovered the full danger that the vast ocean of deportation fugitives posed. Consider the case of Gazi Ibrahim Abu Mezer, a Palestinian bomb-builder who entered the U.S. illegally through Canada in 1996 and 1997. He claimed political asylum based on alleged persecution by Israelis, was released on a reduced $5,000 bond posted by a man who was himself an illegal alien, and then skipped his asylum hearing after calling his attorney and lying about his whereabouts. In June 1997, after his lawyer withdrew Mezer’s asylum claim, a federal immigration judge ordered Mezer to leave the country on a “voluntary departure order.” Mezer ignored the useless piece of paper. He joined a New York City bombing plot before being arrested in July 1997 after a roommate tipped off local police.

Countless jihadists have benefited enormously from lax enforcement of deportation orders and asylum loopholes. Jihad plotters Ramzi Yousef and Mir Aimal Kansi also exploited our catch-and-release system by invoking asylum and evading swamped authorities before plotting and executing jihadist attacks.

The post-9/11 absconder apprehension initiative has been decimated. The total number of apprehensions of illegal aliens by immigration enforcement agencies is less than half of what it was five years ago, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. And the White House is dispensing deportation waivers like Pez candy en masse.

“Lincoln increased the power of the federal government at the expense of the rights of the states and civil liberties. This opened the door to more unconstitutional acts by the government in the 1900s through to today.” (via ~ BLOGGER.GUNNY.G.1984+ ~ (BLOG & EMAIL))

********************************************** The Men Who Destroyed the Constitution by Thomas J. DiLorenzo DIGG THIS In his 1850 Disquisition on Government, John C. Tea Parties are like the confederates or something

David W. Blight, a professor of history at Yale….: “Why can’t we just get over the Civil War in America?”

[I]deologically, many of the issues of 2011 are much the same as in 1861. Given the hold the tea party seems to have on the base of the Republican Party, we should take notice when some in the group invoke the Confederate constitution as a model for anti-tax, anti-centralization libertarianism.

But Blight is not satisfied; he goes on to compare his ideological foes to slaveholders:

Indeed, yesterday’s secessionists and today’s nullifiers have much in common. Both are distinct minorities who have suddenly seized an inordinate degree of power. [...] Today, states’ rights claims are advanced by many governors and Republican-majority legislatures in the very language of “secession” and “nullification” made so infamous in antebellum America. They are aided and abetted by a conservative majority on the Supreme Court, although the justices have not justified “nullification” by name.

I googled “nullification” and was not surprised that the second hit was to a webpage at a site I’m familiar with: The Tenth Amendment Center. The webpage lists the “Current Nullification Efforts,” and this statement of purpose:

The 10th Amendment Movement is an effort to push back against unconstitutional federal laws and regulations on a state level. The principle is known as “nullification,” and was advised by many prominent founders.
