The Scapegoat Strategy

By Charles Krauthammer October 13

What do you do if you can’t run on your record — on 9 percent unemployment, stagnant growth and ruinous deficits as far as the eye can see? How to run when you are asked whether Americans are better off than they were four years ago and you are compelled to answer no?

Play the outsider. Declare yourself the underdog. Denounce Washington as if the electorate hasn’t noticed that you’ve been in charge of it for nearly three years.

But above all: Find villains.

President Obama first tried finding excuses, blaming America’s dismal condition on Japanese supply-chain interruptions, the Arab Spring, European debt and various acts of God.

Didn’t work. Sounds plaintive, defensive. Lacks fight, which is what Obama’s base lusts for above all.

Hence Obama’s new strategy: Don’t whine, blame. Attack. Indict. Accuse. Who? The rich — and their Republican protectors — for wrecking America.

In Obama’s telling, it’s the refusal of the rich to “pay their fair share” that jeopardizes Medicare. If millionaires don’t pony up, schools will crumble. Oil-drilling tax breaks are costing teachers their jobs. Corporate loopholes will gut medical research.

Cain’s ‘9-9-9’ tax plan hits poor, helps wealthy, experts say

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

The “9-9-9” plan that has helped propel businessman Herman Cain to the front of the GOP presidential field would stick many poor and middle-class people with a hefty tax increase while cutting taxes for those at the top, tax analysts say.

The plan would do away with much of the current tax code and impose a 9 percent personal income tax, a 9 percent business tax and a 9 percent national sales tax, which tax experts say would mean that low- and middle-income Americans would pay more.

“Right now, we have a strongly progressive income tax. High-income people are paying a higher share of income in taxes than lower-income people,” said Alan Viard, a former Federal Reserve Bank economist and a resident scholar at the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute. “That is a pattern that would be disrupted by adoption of the Cain plan.”

The 9-9-9 plan has helped define Cain’s candidacy. Coupled with his buoyant, plain-spoken style, it has helped transform the former long shot into a front-runner. Cain has touted the proposal’s apparent simplicity and fairness, but he rarely delves into details in person. His campaign website shows that the plan is only a step toward achieving his ultimate goal: to eliminate the Internal Revenue Service after replacing all federal taxes with a national sales tax.

Meanwhile, analysts said the 9-9-9 part of Cain’s vision would place a further burden on those hit hardest by the nation’s economic problems.

Roberton Williams, a senior fellow at the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, is working on an analysis of Cain’s signature policy proposal. Although the plan’s details remain sketchy, Williams said that it would increase taxes for the poor and middle class, despite Cain’s statements to the contrary.

For starters, about 30 million of the poorest households pay neither income taxes nor Social Security or Medicare levies. “So for them, doing away with the payroll tax doesn’t save anything. And you are adding both a 9 percent sales tax and 9 percent income tax. So we know they will be worse off,” Williams said.

At the top end of the income scale, meanwhile, the opposite would occur, he said. The top 1 percent of earners would get a tax cut under Cain’s plan, Williams said.

The nation’s top income earners have reaped the vast majority of the nation’s income growth over the past quarter century, pushing income inequality in the country to levels not seen since the Depression. The tax plan would exacerbate that gap, Williams said.

“People at the top end pay 20 or 21 percent in income and payroll taxes now,” he said. “This plan zeroes out their payroll tax and suddenly their tax is down to 9 percent. Then, like everyone else, they pay 9 percent on what they spend. But the rich don’t spend everything they earn.”…..

Cain Economic Advisor: 9-9-9 Plan to Add $2 Trillion to GDP

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan will add $2 trillion to U.S. GDP, as well as create 6 million jobs, his economic advisor Rich Lowrie told Larry Kudlow Thursday.

Lowrie also said under the plan, business investments will increase by one-third and wages will go up by 10 percent.

“And if you fold all that growth together,” he said, “federal revenues go up by 15 percent.”

Cain’s 9-9-9 plan would scrap the current tax code and replace it with a 9 percent tax on personal income and corporations, as well as a new 9 percent sales tax.

Will Israel bomb Iran without notifying the US?

October 13, 2011 2 comments

In recent weeks, intense discussions have taken place in Israeli military and intelligence circles about whether or not to launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities. Apparently, the key question in the debate was how to ensure that the United States took part in the attack or, at the very least, intervened on Israel’s side if the initial strike triggered a wider war.

Reports of these discussions have caused considerable alarm in Washington and in a number of European capitals. Some western military experts have been quoted as saying that the window of opportunity for an Israeli air attack on Iran will close within two months, since the onset of winter would make such an assault more difficult.

Concern that Israel may decide to attack without giving the US prior warning is thought to be the main reason for the visit to Tel Aviv on October 3 of the US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta. His aim seems to have been to rein in the Israeli hawks.

Amos Harel of the Israeli daily Haaretz summed up Panetta’s message as follows: America is standing by Israel, but an uncoordinated Israeli strike on Iran could spark a regional war. The US will work to defend Israel, but Israel must behave responsibly.

Full story here.

When Did the Team Break Up?

October 13, 2011 1 comment

RUSH: I hate this. I really hate getting into all this. This is… We all used to be on the same team, do you realize that? I’ve been doing this for 23 years, and I remember the first ten, we were all on the same team. There wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference. Now, I don’t know… I’ll have to think about this. I’ll have to think about when the Republican establishment finally gave up and decided they wanted to be Democrat light. I don’t know — or better stated, when did they decide they had to start taking out conservatives? Now, I know they didn’t like Reagan. I know you can trace it all back and the Republican establishment always been who they are. I’m not taking that off the table. I’m just telling you that from the standpoint of media, when I started this in 1988, the next ten years, I mean, yeah, there were jealousies…..

Newspaper sues government to reveal ‘secret’ Patriot Act interpretation

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

The New York Times is suing the U.S. government for refusing to divulge how its law enforcement interprets the Patriot Act.

After a series of Freedom of Information requests were declined to reveal the classified interpretation of the Patriot Act — a description that Senators Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) and Mark Udall (D-Colorado) described as “deeply disturbing” — the newspaper sought to battle it out in the courts.

Some months ago, it was found that the Patriot Act was being interpreted by government departments in a way to aid their ongoing investigations, leading to calls that there was a “classified” element to the counter-terrorism law.

The two senators, members of the Senate intelligence committee, have access to the secret interpretation of the law, but are bound by secrecy laws and cannot disclose it publicly. They believe that how law enforcement interprets the Act greatly differs from how the general public believe the federal government interprets the law; leading to the vast majority of the public not knowing how the law is actually used.

Messiah College crowd pushes back on Frances Fox Piven’s accusations of Tea Party racism (VIDEO)

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

Kudos to the crowd on this one. No surprise that Frances Fox Piven would repeat the typical, brain-dead, rooted-in-unreality accusation that the Tea Party is racist — but rather a surprise that a little push-back inspired her to stop clutching her talking points quite so tightly.

Early in her lecture on American democracy at the private Christian college in Pennsylvania earlier this week, Piven spouts the usual drivel, suggesting Tea Partiers aren’t comfortable with Barack Obama as president because he’s black. The comment drew displeased expressions and a few boos. Piven looks at the audience with an intrigued expression and asks, “Are you all Tea Partiers?” Undeterred, she continues. One Tea Partier in the crowd spoke up further. “As long as he follows the Constitution, we don’t care what color he is,” the protester says audibly. His rebuttal draws cheers from the crowd.

But later, she tries again: The Tea Party, she says, convinces itself it’s less racist than it is by propping up a candidate like Herman Cain. The students aren’t convinced. Eventually, it’s Piven who’s forced to concede: She clarifies that she doesn’t think the entire Tea Party is motivated by racism or that racism is the only motivation. The Tea Party, she says, is an “authentic” movement. My, how gracious!

Seriously, how did we arrive at this point? Piven’s backtracking wasn’t particularly open-minded, her amended quotes not particularly accurate. Whatever she said appears to have come as much from genuine surprise at encountering any kind of an opposing view as from a true reconsideration of her assumptions. Yet, this has to be considered some kind of crowd victory because the unfounded insults levied at a group of ordinary men and women concerned about the growth of government have only escalated since the first cries of racism surfaced. What will it take to reclaim the image of the Tea Party from the mischaracterizations of the left? Simple statements like that made by the man in this crowd are a start, but Tea Partiers will have to be as relentless in the rebuttals as opponents are in their attacks.

Below, the relevant portions of Piven’s speech (h/t Media Research Center):

Clerk tries to get deputy’s son’s citation fixed, accidentally faxes request to newspaper (Illinois)

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

We’re not sure what’s more amusing about this story, the obvious and clichéd abuse of power or the retro charm of dialing the wrong fax number. C’mon, who even faxes anymore? We’ve gotten so used to people getting busted by accidentally e-mailing everyone in their address book or slipping up on Facebook that we almost feel sorry for the clerk in question, entangled by ’90s technology. Almost.

Joann Reed, the records clerk for the sheriff in St. Clair County, Illinois, sent a three-page fax including a copy of a speeding ticket, with a handwritten note saying, “Dismiss this case” and “The guy is the son of one of our deputies.” Ostensibly she meant to send the fax to the prosecuting attorney in the village that issued the ticket, but instead, she faxed the local newspaper, the Belleville News-Democrat, which is where we heard about the story.

Solar company Solyndra says its CEO has resigned (after he and Obama stole taxpayer’s money)

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

Solar company Solyndra said Thursday its CEO Brian Harrison has resigned, according to The Associated Press.

Solyndra has been at the center of a media storm since the California solar energy company sought bankruptcy protection after receiving a $528 million loan guarantee from the Obama administration.

The AP reports that Solyndra filed papers in a Delaware bankruptcy court Wednesday that said Harrison resigned last Friday. Solyndra said Harrison’s resignation was expected even before the company sought bankruptcy protection, the AP said.

The news wire notes that “Solyndra’s filing was in response to a motion by the Justice Department to appoint a trustee to oversee the bankruptcy case. The government was concerned company officials would not be forthcoming about Solyndra’s operations and finances.”

Drug Smugglers Tunnel Into Arizona Parking Spaces

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

Drug smugglers are endlessly creative when it comes to inventing ways to move marijuana, cocaine and other contraband from Mexico into the United States.

In the latest innovation uncovered by law enforcement, smugglers in the border town of Nogales, Arizona were bringing drugs into the U.S. for the cost of a quarter.

The parking meters on International Street, which hugs the border fence in Nogales, cost 25 cents. Smugglers in Mexico tunneled under the fence and under the metered parking spaces, and then carefully cut neat rectangles out of the pavement. Their confederates on the U.S. side would park false-bottomed vehicles in the spaces above the holes, feed the meters, and then wait while the underground smugglers stuffed their cars full of drugs from below.

When the exchange was finished, the smugglers would use jacks to put the pavement “plugs” back into place. The car would drive away, and only those observers who were looking closely would notice the seams in the street.

“It’s unbelievable,” Nogales mayor Arturo Garino told Tucson, Arizona ABC affiliate KGUN. “Those are the strides these people take to get the drugs across the border.”

Blame Government for Debit Card Changes

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

We’re just beginning to see the impact of the Dodd-Frank financial reform act with over 500 new regulations entering the pipeline. Yet, the fresh-out-of-the-gate price control on debit cards has already sparked an uproar.

Dodd-Frank, following a push by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), instructed the Federal Reserve to set a price control that capped the interchange fee paid by retailers to banks in order to accept debit cards. The fee traditionally covered the cost of checking accounts, consumer card rewards, and ensured secure transactions and fraud prevention. As predicted, banks have had to cover the cost of Durbin’s price control, now set at roughly 21 cents a transaction, by eliminating free checking, charging for use of a debit card, or reducing card benefits dramatically. For these reasons, over 30 free-market groups called for the regulations to be rolled back earlier this year.

This has sparked some consumer backlash, but instead of laying blame on financial institutions, it should be placed squarely at the feet of Sen. Durbin and the Federal Reserve. Changes to consumers’ bank accounts or debit cards would not have occurred had this law never been implemented.

Thankfully for consumers, Reps. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Bill Owens (D-NY) have introduced the Consumer Debit Card Protection Act that will repeal the Durbin price control. This follows an effort in the Senate last June that would have delayed and studied the impact of the regulation before it went into effect. That measure was supported 54-45, but did not reach the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture.

Americans for Tax Reform strongly supports the Chaffetz-Owens Consumer Debit Card Protection Act. As predicted, the interchange price controls by Sen. Durbin and the Fed have dramatically altered the market for debit cards and negatively impacted consumers in the process. The rule should be rolled back in its entirety.

Romans 13 and National Defense by Laurence M. Vance

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

There is no greater abuse of this passage than when it is applied to national defense. I have come across two examples of this recently.

The first is from an exchange between a readers of my columns and his theologian friend. Earlier this year, when the United States had just begun its military adventure in Libya, a reader informed me of a conversation with a friend who happened to be a theologian and seminary professor. Said professor posted something on Facebook about Libya and how Obama the evil Democrat wouldn’t hesitate to use force on Americans if they tried to institute a new government like the Libyans. My reader agreed, but then added: “So would Bush. Statism knows no party.” The response of the theologian was simply: “Governments have a God-given right to defend themselves. Romans.”

Pointing out the similarities between Obama the Democrat and Bush the Republican is a cardinal sin according to some Christian conservatives. Although Bush expanded federal spending on and control over education, expanded Medicare to greater heights than LBJ ever dreamed, started two unnecessary wars, doubled the national debt, had bailout and stimulus programs, increased farm subsidies and foreign aid, increased government spending and regulations, gave us the first trillion-dollar budget deficit, instituted torture, violated civil liberties, and expanded the police state – none of this matters because he was a Christian and a Republican…..

Where Google Gets Its Power – James E. Miller – Mises Daily

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

On September 21, 2011, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt faced a hailstorm of criticism from senators and rival CEOs alike at a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights Subcommittee. According to Nextag (who?) CEO Jeffrey Katz, “Google rigs the results” of searches to give preferential treatment to its own businesses. Yelp (who, again?) CEO Jeremy Stoppelman claimed, “Google is no longer in the business of sending people to the best destinations on the Web. It has everything to do with generating more revenue.” Senator Mike Lee of Utah charged the search engine of having “clear and inherent conflict of interest.”

Two questions come immediately to mind. First, who cares about Google’s business practices? If you disagree with how Google runs its incredibly popular search engine, don’t patronize it. There is no need for paternalistic bureaucrats to intervene in such a simple matter. If my local pizza shop bombards me with advertisements for other local businesses every time I walk through its doors, I will think twice about picking up lunch from there next time.

Second, is Google’s behavior really that unexpected? After all, it is a business pursuing a profit. The better question to ask is why wouldn’t Google show preferential treatment to its other business ventures on its own search engine? It doesn’t take a college degree in marketing to realize how beneficial it is for Google to use its own heavily trafficked enterprise to promote itself…..

Pieczenik: Obama and Israel to Attack Iran Under Cover of Bogus Terror Threat

October 13, 2011 2 comments

Appearing on the Alex Jones Show today, former State Department official Steve Pieczenik said Israel and the United States will use the cartoonish terror plot invented by the DEA and the FBI now dominating headlines as a false flag pretext to wage war on Iran.

Alex Jones issues war alert.

Pieczenik said Iran does not need to wage war within the United States and is more focused on confronting Israel through its Hezbollah proxy in Lebanon. He said the government of Benjamin Netanyahu and the reactionary Likud party are turning up the heat on the long simmering Iranian pretext – based on its alleged and undemonstrated nuclear weapons program – in order to take attention off demands by the Palestinians and a growing contingent at the United Nations for statehood. Israel, according to Pieczenik, also wants to distract its populace from a deteriorating domestic situation.

Moreover, the remarkably incompetent Obama administration is using the fallacious plot to divert attention from its involvement in the criminal Fast and Furious gun-running operation and Obama’s rapidly falling popularity rating as the election approaches. A growing number of Democrats are now talking about running a candidate other than Obama.

Like his predecessor, Obama will use the rally ’round the flag tactic to prop up his sagging popularity rating. Bush realized a boost after the attacks of September 11, 2001, and his invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Bush era neocons, long ensconced in the Pentagon, have for years attempted to steer U.S. foreign policy toward a cataclysmic confrontation with Iran.

In June, AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, renewed its push to convince the U.S. government that Iran is secretly developing nuclear weapons that threaten Israel. Pieczenik noted that AIPAC is instrumental in efforts to start what will amount to World War III. He said Israel has consistently manipulated AIPAC.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

In September, it was reported that the Obama administration had approved the sale of 55 powerful GBU-28 Hard Target Penetrators, better known as bunker-buster bombs, to the Israeli government. The high-tech munitions, according to Newsweek, are deemed important to any future military strike against Iranian nuclear sites. The deal also includes a network of radar sites designed to help Israel ward off a missile attack, as well as joint military exercises and regular national-security consultations.

The Obama administration made the weapon and technology transfer under the cover of headline-grabbing and theatrical disagreements with the Jewish state over the Palestinian issue.

Pieczenik said cluster-bombs sent to Israel will be used to target Iranian airfields and immobilize its air force during the attack. In 2006, the U.S. said it would stop sending clusterbombs to Israel after the discovery of hundreds of US-made cluster bombs among the tens of thousands of unexploded munitions carpeting the south of Lebanon following Israel’s most recent invasion of its northern neighbor.

Finally, Pieczenik said “Israel is out of control” and “dysfunctional.” He said it is up to the people of Israel to go into the street and protest the actions of its government,.

The American people as well need to go into the street and protest the move toward World War III and also demand the impeachment of Obama, who deceptively portrayed himself as a peacekeeper during the election but immediately continued the wars and provocations of his predecessor.

Assassination plot was so clumsy, officials at first doubted Iran’s role

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

The straight-out-of-pulp-fiction plot by alleged Iranian operatives to assassinate a Saudi diplomat in Washington was so badly bungled that investigators initially were skeptical that Iran’s government was behind it, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

Officials laying out the details of the case owned up to their early doubts about an Iranian role as they sought to counter skepticism and confusion about the unusual scheme — one that happens to carry far-reaching international consequences.

You’re not the only person who hates Bank of America, American Airlines and Time Warner.

We’ve updated our list of the worst companies on the American Customer Satisfaction Index, which gives remarkably accurate ratings based on thousands of surveys. The most-hated list hasn’t changed much since June, because the companies rated since then are in the well-liked durable goods industries.

“Generally speaking, manufacturing companies have a much easier time to quality control their products,” ACSI’s David VanAmburg told us. “In terms of purchase and consumption, you’re going to get much higher ratings than an airline company where there’s a greater chance that something can go wrong.”

The worst companies include big banks, legacy airlines and utilities.

Why the State Demands Control of Money – Hans-Hermann Hoppe – Mises Daily

October 13, 2011 1 comment

Imagine you are in command of the state, defined as an institution that possesses a territorial monopoly of ultimate decision making in every case of conflict, including conflicts involving the state and its agents itself, and, by implication, the right to tax, i.e., to unilaterally determine the price that your subjects must pay you to perform the task of ultimate decision making.

To act under these constraints — or rather, lack of constraints — is what constitutes politics and political action, and it should be clear from the outset that politics, then, by its very nature, always means mischief. Not from your point of view, of course, but mischief from the point of view of those subject to your rule as ultimate judge. Predictably, you will use your position to enrich yourself at other people’s expense.

More specifically, we can predict in particular what your attitude and policy vis-à-vis money and banking will be.

Assume that you rule over a territory that has developed beyond the stage of a primitive barter economy and where a common medium of exchange, i.e., a money, is in use. First off, it is easy to see why you would be particularly interested in money and monetary affairs. As state ruler, you can in principle confiscate whatever you want and provide…..

Osprey Down: Marines Shift Story on Controversial Warplane’s Safety Record

By David Axe Email Author

October 13, 2011 |

Categories: Army and Marines

It’s an aircraft with a reputation for falling from the sky. But on at least one occasion, the U.S. military’s controversial V-22 Osprey tiltrotor — a hybrid transport that takes off like a helicopter and cruises like an airplane, thanks to its rotating engine nacelles — did just the opposite. It flew upward, out of control of its pilots.

On March 27, 2006, at a Marine Corps air base in New River, North Carolina, an MV-22 assigned to Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204 experienced an unplanned surge in engine power as the three-man crew was preparing for a flight. “That caused the aircraft to inadvertently lift off the deck approximately 30 feet,” Marine spokesman Maj. Shawn Haney explained. “It came back down … there was major damage sustained to the right wing and the right engine.”

Luckily, the three crewmembers were unhurt. The cost to repair the self-flying Osprey totaled $7,068,028, according to the Naval Safety Center, which tracks all Navy and Marine aircraft mishaps. An investigation by the Navy and manufacturers Bell and Boeing resulted in tweaks to the V-22’s engine controls.

Yet the Marines and the Naval Safety Center ultimately decided that the Osprey’s dangerous joyride didn’t count as a serious flying accident, known in Pentagon parlance as a “Class A flight mishap.” The reason, said Capt. Brian Block, a Marine spokesman: The aircraft wasn’t supposed to take off just then; therefore, it’s not a flight problem. If a V-22 suffers damage while preparing to launch or after landing, or if the crew does not explicitly command the aircraft to take off but it does anyways, then the accident doesn’t count as a flight accident…..

Fabricated terror plot provides pretext for intervention following Panetta’s October 3 Tel Aviv visit

Paul Joseph Watson

Wednesday, October 13, 2011

The Obama administration’s fabricated terror plot blamed on Iran represents the green light for an Israeli attack on Iran set to take place within the next two weeks, according to confidential military sources who spoke with Alex Jones.

Sources: US Gives Israel Green Light For Iran Strike 2010121610457477

Israel is concerned that major powers like Germany are moving closer to smoothing relations with Iran and allowing Iran to continue its nuclear enrichment program unimpeded. A two month window has been allocated during which Israel has the opportunity to launch a military assault, waiting until winter when the attack will be more difficult to pull off is not an option.

US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s October 3 Tel Aviv visit was used by Israeli hawks to convince the United States that it should green light the attack. Less than 10 days later, a fanciful terror plot involving a used car salesman was invented to implicate Iran and create the pretext for a military assault.

“In recent weeks, intense discussions have taken place in Israeli military and intelligence circles about whether or not to launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities. Apparently, the key question in the debate was how to ensure that the United States took part in the attack or, at the very least, intervened on Israel’s side if the initial strike triggered a wider war,” writes Patrick Seale of Gulf News.

That intervention has now been mandated by the announcement of the fabricated terror plot, which was actually concocted last month but only made public now.

While U.S. intelligence officials prepare to release claims about a “chain” of plots that will be blamed on Iran, Time Magazine reports that the Obama administration is preparing to use the accusations to take action beyond mere isolation tactics.

“If the Administration fails to win support for a significant escalation of sanctions or other forms of punishment for the Tehran regime after presenting evidence of the latest allegations of Iranian malfeasance, the ball will land back in Obama’s court,” writes Tony Karon. “Having made the case that Iran has crossed a red line, he will be under growing pressure to act — or risk entering a highly polarized election season haunted by a “soft on Iran” charge.”

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

With neo-cons rushing to support aggressive measures against Iran, Obama will now be given right cover to pursue yet another act of regime change. As we postulated back in February last year, Obama is being blackmailed into supporting an attack on Iran as the only way to save his presidency. We also speculated that an assassination attempt would be used as the pretext to implicate Iran.

Geopolitical experts have been consistent in their warnings that Israel was preparing to strike Iran this fall.

Back in July, 21-year CIA veteran Robert Baer told KPFK Los Angeles that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was planning an attack on Iran in September to coincide with the Palestine bid for UN membership.

Speaking with the Alex Jones Show today, former State Department official Steve Pieczenik, who has numerous inside intelligence sources having worked in several sensitive positions during the course of his career, also indicated that the terror plot was completely fabricated and that it would be used a pretext to justify a military strike against Iran.

Pieczenik also pointed out that Israel had recently taken delivery of a large amount of bunker buster missiles.

As we have documented, the alleged assassination plot against Saudi Ambassador Adel al-Jubeir, which is now being cited by everyone from John Kerry to John McCain as a justification for a potential military strike, is a complete fantasy.

Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Shaffer has revealed that an FBI insider with a high security clearance told him no records whatsoever detailing the plot existed within DOJ channels, clearly indicating the whole episode was manufactured.

It has also now emerged that the alleged “mastermind” behind the plot was a drunk pothead who liked to frequent with prostitutes and was described by those who know him as a “joke”.

GOP Elite Declares War on Tea Party

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, there’s a big piece in the New York Times Magazine coming this weekend. It is entitled: “Does Anyone Have a Grip on the GOP?” The subhead: “The Republican Elite Tries to Take Its Party Back.” This article prints like 24 pages. It is a major, major New York Times Magazine piece. It confirms everything that I have thought, everything I have speculated, everything I have said about the battle between the Republican elite and the Tea Party.

I can’t read the whole thing on the program; I don’t intend to. I’ve got some highlights or quotes that are illustrative here, but this is an open declaration of war from the GOP elites to the Tea Party, and it’s right there in the New York Times. And these Republican establishment types are more than willing to be quoted by name, and what I think it all means is they think that they’ve beaten the Tea Party hordes back. Do you realize that Chuck Schumer and a bunch of Democrats are running around campaigning now against the Tea Party. The Tea Party poses the greatest threat to this country. The Tea Party is a bunch of racist, sexist bigots. This is the message and the Republican elite, while not joining word for word that message, are still joining with the Democrats in the notion that the Tea Party is a problem and needs to be beaten back…..

Rick Perry — Best Hope for Solid Conservative in 2012

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

I have good news and bad news for conservatives. But the good news and the bad news are both the same thing: We have six very impressive, lifelong conservative candidates running for the presidency.

They are the smartest candidates, the most principled candidates, the most patriotic candidates, the most persuasive candidates, and the candidates with the best ideas.

The problem lies in the fact that conservatives do not have a single favorite candidate.

William F. Buckley used to say that he was not for “the most conservative” candidate. He said he was for “the most conservative candidate that is electable.” Unfortunately, conservatives today are not following Buckley’s wise advice and strategic counsel.

The GOP establishment behaves almost entirely pragmatically. They typically try to find the Republican most likely to be elected and back that candidate (irrespective of what that candidate believes) in order to ensure party insiders retain control.

On the other hand, many evangelicals and tea party supporters are behaving as ideological purists. In their effort to choose the most conservative candidate (irrespective of their ability to win) they are violating Buckley’s principle and as a result are unknowingly helping the GOP establishment…

There is only one scenario where this can be stopped: Evangelical and tea party conservatives must immediately unite behind Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Rick Perry is the most conservative candidate who is also electable.

On all three legs of Ronald Reagan’s winning issue coalition, economics, social issues and foreign policy, Rick Perry should be the conservative’s choice.

Principled politics is an art form. Participating in it with as many candidates as there are now is like a complex chess match. You must capture the tension between principle and pragmatism. Rick Perry captures it perfectly. He is the William F. Buckley candidate.

Why Conservatives Deserve to Lose in2012 by David Franke

Why Conservatives Deserve to Lose in2012 by David Franke:

Our options

Today the Republican Party has three options, and conservatives have two options, as they try to make Barack Obama a one-term president.

The conservatives have a choice between Ron Paul and any of the others. (They are essentially the same – what I call conventional conservatives.) The third choice for the Republican Party is the GOP establishment’s candidate, now Mitt Romney after a process of elimination. Since this is not an establishment-friendly site, I will concern myself with just the first two categories for the rest of this article.

As I explained in my previous article, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul are the only Republican candidates with the money and troops necessary to prevail through the primary season until a decision is made. At this point in time, that makes a lot of you – perhaps a majority of you – unhappy. You are just going to have to learn how to deal with the hand you’re dealt. And you can take this article as one Ron Paul conservative’s Epistle to the (conventional) Conservatives.

Why do I say you conventional conservatives deserve to lose? Because you have come up with a pathetic list of candidates, and you tear down the ones you do have over nonessential matters. Most important, at a time of real emergency, you are playing politics as usual.

The Rick Perry Conundrum…..

Conservatives and Liberals Agree: End the Malignant, Symbiotic Relationship Between Big Government and Big Corporations

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

The Issue that Unites Conservatives and Liberals

While many pretend that liberals and conservatives are too far apart to work together, there are actuallymany issues on which everyone can agree.

For example, both liberals and conservatives hate the malignant, symbiotic relationship between big government and big corporations:

Conservatives tend to view big government with suspicion, and think that government should be held accountable and reined in.

Liberals tend to view big corporations with suspicion, and think that they should be held accountable and reined in.

Conservatives hate big unfettered government and liberals hate big unchecked corporations, so both hate legislation which encourages the federal government to reward big corporations at the expense of small businesses.

Most Americans – whether they are conservative or liberal – are disgusted that virtually all of the politicians are bought and paid for. No wonder people of all stripes have lost all trust in our government.

And everyone hates government-enabled fraud. The big banks, of course, committed massive fraud. Butthe auditors, rating agencies and regulators also all committed fraud, which helped blow the bubble and sowed the seeds of the inevitable crash.

Both liberals and conservatives are angry that the feds are propping up the giant banks – while letting small banks fail by the hundreds – even though that is horrible for the economy and Main Street.

The Dodd-Frank financial legislation wasn’t a compromise where things landed somewhere in the middle between liberal and conservatives ideas. Instead, it enshrines big government propping up the big banks … more or less permanently.

Many liberals and conservatives look at the government’s approach to the financial crisis as socialism for the rich and free market capitalism for the little guy. No wonder both liberals and conservatives hate it.

And it’s not just the big banks. Americans are angry that the federal government under both Bush and Obama have handed giant defense contractors like Blackwater and Halliburton no-bid contracts. [And Solyndra and other solar companies]. They are mad that – instead of cracking down on BP – the government has acted like BP’s p.r. spokesman-in-chief and sugar daddy.

They are peeved that companies like Monsanto are able to sell genetically modified foods without any disclosure, and that small farmers are getting sued when Monsanto crops drift onto their fields.

They are mad that Obama promised “change” – i.e. standing up to Wall Street and the other powers-that-be – but is just delivering more of the same.

They are furious that there is no separation between government and a handful of favored giant corporations. [Indeed, Ben Bernanke has handed out more presents than Santa Claus to McDonald's Harley-Davidson, hedge funds and others.] In other words, Americans are angry that we’ve gone from capitalism to oligarchy.

As I noted Sunday:

The corrupt, giant banks would never have gotten so big and powerful on their own. In a free market, the leaner banks with sounder business models would be growing, while the giants who made reckless speculative gambles would have gone bust. See this, this andthis.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

It is the Federal Reserve, Treasury and Congress who have repeatedly bailed out the big banks, ensured they make money at taxpayer expense, exempted them from standard accounting practices and the criminal and fraud laws which govern the little guy, encouraged insane amounts of leverage, and enabled the too big to fail banks – through “moral hazard” – to become even more reckless.

Indeed, the government made them big in the first place. As I noted in 2009:

As MIT economics professor and former IMF chief economist Simon Johnson points out today, the official White House position is that:

(1) The government created the mega-giants, and they are not the product of free market competition

(3) Giant banks are good for the economy

And given that the 12 Federal Reserve banks are private – see this, this, this and this- the giant banks have a huge amount of influence on what the Fed does. Indeed, the money-center banks in New York control the New York Fed, the most powerful Fed bank. Indeed, Jamie Dimon – the head of JP Morgan Chase – is a Director of the New York Fed.

Any attempt by the left to say that the free market is all bad and the government is all good is naive and counter-productive.

And any attempt by the right to say that we should leave the giant banks alone because that’s the free market are wrong.

The [corrupt, captured government "regulators"] and the giant banks are part of a single malignant, symbiotic relationship.

Indeed, while most Americans are in favor of free market capitalism, we don’t have capitalism at the moment. Instead, we have socialism, fascism or crony capitalism, where the government allows a handful of companies to succeed by propping them up, covering up their fraud and handing them guaranteed profts … but allows everyone else to struggle.

The infamous Cloward-Piven Strategy calls for the poor to rise up and overload the government rolls in order to collapse the free market system. The poor would force the government to establish a welfare state. Why would you be for overthrowing the most productive and successful economic system in world history?

Based on historical fact, the free market system has brought millions of people out of poverty. Two hundred years ago, 85 percent of the people living in the world lived on less than one dollar a day…..

Iranian Terror “Mastermind” Described as Drunk, Pothead, Hooker Frequenting “Joke”

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

The already dubious “Iranian” terror plot to assassinate a Saudi ambassador and blow up the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, continues to unravel into farce with the revelation that the so called “mastermind” behind the plot is a failed used car salesman described by those who know him as a “joke”.

While The Justice Department is hyping the notion that 56-year-old Iranian-born U.S. citizen Manssor Arbabsiar was participating in a dastardly Iranian plot to kill Saudi Arabia’s U.S. ambassador, details have emerged that make the already farcical case look like a badly scripted comedy.

Local media in Austin and San Antonio spoke to several of Arbabsiar’s acquaintances in Round Rock and Corpus Christi, who described him in most unflattering terms, saying that they doubt Arbabsiar could have had any meaningful involvement in the supposed international ploy.

“He used to drink, smoke pot, go with the prostitutes,” Tom Hosseini, an Iranian who has known Arbabsiar since college, told reporters, adding “His first wife left him because he would lose his keys every other day. This guy is not a mastermind.”

Hosseini also told reporters that in college Arbabsiar earned the nickname ‘”Jack” for his affinity for whisky, confirming that he wasn’t in any way religious and that “he couldn’t even pray, doesn’t know how to fast.”

Describing Arbabsiar as rude, offensive and unfriendly, others noted that he was a “floundering” businessman who at various points had tried his hand in running a restaurant, a convenience store and a used car lot.

“He was pretty disorganised, always losing things like keys, titles, probably a thousand cell phones,” David Tomscha, who ran the small used-car yard with him, said. “He wasn’t meticulous with taking care of things.”

“He never spoke ill of the United States,” Mr Tomscha added. “I always thought he liked it here, because he could make money. He loved to make money.”

Arbabsiar, who has a history of run ins with the law and minor criminal offences, was described in other accounts as having a preoccupation with traveling to Iran in order to procure the services of cheap Persian prostitutes.

Another local acquaintance, Mitch Hamueen, scoffed at the DOJ suggestion that “Chevrolet” was a code word for the alleged terror operation.

“He probably wasn’t talking in code, he was probably talking about an actual Chevrolet,” he said.

“He’s the fall guy,” Hamueen said. “They’re looking for a fall guy.”

Reporters also spoke with Arbabsiar’s apparently estranged wife who told them “I know that his innocence is going to come out.”

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

The Obama administration contends that Arbabsiar tried to hire assassins from a Mexican drug gang to carry out the murder of ambassador Adel al-Jubeir during a visit to the United States.

However, the head of the drug gang turned out to be a DEA agent posing as a Mexican Los Zetas gangster. The story has all the hallmarks of classic FBI entrapment tactics that have characterized almost every major terror bust in recent times.

Nevertheless, Everyone from Hillary Clinton to John Kerry has pounced on the allegations, suggesting there is a wider conspiracy, that sanctions should be placed on Iran, and that even further action should not be ruled out.

It remains thoroughly unclear why members of the Iranian elite Quds Force would select a bumbling scatterbrained halfwit to communicate with hardcore Mexican drug gangs and carry out an assassination inside the U.S.

We fabricated drug charges against innocent people to meet arrest quotas, former detective

October 13, 2011 1 comment

A former NYPD narcotics detective snared in a corruption scandal testified it was common practice to fabricate drug charges against innocent people to meet arrest quotas.

The bombshell testimony from Stephen Anderson is the first public account of the twisted culture behind the false arrests in the Brooklyn South and Queens narc squads, which led to the arrests of eight cops and a massive shakeup.

Anderson, testifying under a cooperation agreement with prosecutors, was busted for planting cocaine, a practice known as “flaking,” on four men in a Queens bar in 2008 to help out fellow cop Henry Tavarez, whose buy-and-bust activity had been low.

“Tavarez was … was worried about getting sent back [to patrol] and, you know, the supervisors getting on his case,” he recounted at the corruption trial of Brooklyn South narcotics Detective Jason Arbeeny.

“I had decided to give him [Tavarez] the drugs to help him out so that he could say he had a buy,” Anderson testified last week in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

He made clear he wasn’t about to pass off the two legit arrests he had made in the bar to Tavarez.

“As a detective, you still have a number to reach while you are in the narcotics division,” he said.

NYPD officials did not respond to a request for comment.

Anderson worked in the Queens and Brooklyn South narcotics squads and was called to the stand at Arbeeny’s bench trial to show the illegal conduct wasn’t limited to a single squad.

“Did you observe with some frequency this … practice which is taking someone who was seemingly not guilty of a crime and laying the drugs on them?” Justice Gustin Reichbach asked Anderson.

“Yes, multiple times,” he replied.

David Ogden is faux Deputy Attorney General under Eric Holder

(Oct. 12, 2011) — With the exception of Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), no one from the GOP side of the aisle seems to really care about the crimes that have been and continue to be committed by Obama and his syndicate. Instead, Congress–itself–has established its own unconstitutional “Super Congress” of twelve which essentially does away with representation of WE-the-People. Does anyone still remember “taxation without representation” that sparked the first “Tea Party?” In this way, Congress is either joining the Obama dictatorship or has formed its own totalitarian challenge to it. Either way, both Obama and the US Congress have now established their own versions of anti-Republic government. Like all petulant and/or undisciplined children, they will continue unless we–the adults–stop them. The Obama syndicate crimes, however, are escalating at a frightening pace.

The Most Criminal Regime in US History

The Obama-led administration (aka the Obama syndicate) appears to be–by far–the most rogue and lawless (by design and original intent of the perpetrators) ever attributed to “leaders” of the United States Government. This regime refuses to follow–let alone uphold–any US law (including Constitutional law) that it doesn’t like; specifically those that would stop its purpose of completely overthrowing and destroying the US Republic. Note: It is being effected–with vigor by our oppressors–as I write this…..

How Big is Big Government?

How Big is Big Government? ^ | October 13, 2013 | Jeff Carter

Posted on Thursday, October 13, 2011 11:28:46 AM by Kaslin

I read this linked article today. I have family that lives up in Alaska. They have told me that government rangers keep people out of plenty of public places all over Alaska. They don’t allow people on public lands. But then, they either take friends and family there, or take payoffs to guide people to the places that they prohibit the public from in the name of the law.

If we are going to have public land, shouldn’t the public be allowed on it?

So it doesn’t surprise me when either big government, or companies try to stop photographers from snapping pictures of things they deem inappropriate.

Last January, remember this?

The next day, my wife and I put our boots on and marched over to the park to just see all the cars out on Lake Shore Drive. We hiked over to the beach, and then police stopped us from going on the beach.

We thought we might take a few photos. Guess again.

Chicago police were threatening to arrest people taking photos of the cars being towed off Lake Shore Drive. They also kicked pedestrians off the pedestrian bridge that goes over the drive.

The above photo is from that same bridge. Wonder if it was a favored photographer, or how early they got there to snap the picture. Or, did they grease somebody’s palm to get access?

Cops got on their loudspeakers and warned people not to take photos.

Rather than try and set a Constitutional example in what we know are mostly corrupt Chicago city courts, we left. But, it shows how big government limits your freedom. We weren’t doing anything wrong. We were not in the way. No one was engaging in an unsafe act.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights are misinterpreted by most people. They don’t delineate the limits of people. They delineate the limits of government to trample the right of freedom of the people that elected it.

Government is way too big in the US. The left wing just wants more of it. Many on the right and left wing like big government because of the crony capitalism that ensues from it. That’s why we need to end it.

It occurred to me after reading this short blurb in Pork Network that government reports cost a lot more than they are worth.

Rarely are government numbers actually correct. Think about it. Unemployment reports from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics are usually incorrect. Virtually every unemployment number’s previous month is revised up or down. Many times by a fair amount.

This year, the volatility in the grain market hasn’t been caused by the weather so much. It’s been caused by inaccurate government reports. So far this season the grains have bounced or broken hard based on government reports overstating or underestimating the amount of corn in the ground, in the silo, or the expected harvest.

I haven’t followed the oil market, but I assume the same is true for oil inventories. I know the Fed doesn’t have a handle on money supply anymore. Dan Basse’s reports were always better than government reports and he made a business out of it.

The only numbers we seemingly can really rely on are ones that come from private sources. For example, the unemployment report is so sketchy and since the early 1990’s traders have felt like the number is manipulated so they look to things like the Challenger Report to see if the government report is honest.

Maybe one way to cut huge swaths out of the federal budget is too simply eliminate government collection of statistics and let private industry do it. Interested market participants and researchers can pay for the reports that are generated and the rest of us don’t have to.

Surely, lumber traders care about how many board feet of lumber are out there and how many acres are planted to different species of trees, but do the rest of us care. Does it matter to us? Or does it simply matter that your local lumberyard has enough in stock for your next project? Why are your tax dollars paying for that statistic?

We will save on the salary expenses and the pension expenses, but we will also save on the office expenses and office equipment expenses. It’s not as if every government employee would be out of a job. They could create private companies that charged for the data to interested participants. The better data that they spewed out, the more they could charge-and more importantly the more market participants would pay.

Markets might be more predictable, and less volatile.

Government could sell off the assets it wasn’t using, generating a profit for taxpayers.

Seems like a good idea to me.

Fred Gegare, who is challenging Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa in elections this month to head up the transport union, says that Hoffa and the US government are colluding to control the union by the use of intimidation.

If true, the allegations could mean that 50 years of work trying to rid unions of mob influence has come to an end.

Hoffa and the Justice Department, says Gegare, have abused a decades-old consent decree, “which was once used to remove mobsters two decades ago, [but] is now being used to target [Hoffa’s] critics” through a “rogue investigative unit set up by the decree.”

Pampered Protesters ^ | October 12, 2011 | Michael Reagan

Posted on Thursday, October 13, 2011 10:37:12 AM by Kaslin

The hordes of so-called “protesters” now polluting the streets of several U.S. cities, including New York, are sending confused messages about their grievances.

The unemployed among them complain that the jobs available to them are beneath them. I guess that cancels out the old concept of starting in the mailroom and advancing step-by-step to the boardroom. It used to be the norm that one started at the bottom and worked their way up. This bunch seems to be living under the delusion that simply by virtue of having been born they are entitled to immediate arrival at the boardroom level with appropriate compensation.

Viewing these unruly mob scenes, featuring numerous public sexual activities posing as protests, I am reminded of the manner in which my Dad dealt with such malcontents. If they were government employees he simply fired them. It worked. The remaining ones slinked back to work.

And I recall how he dealt with his son (me) back in 1965 when I dropped out of Arizona State University and thought that I was simply going home to live with — and off — either my Mom or Dad, who were then divorced. When I got home I found that their doors were locked to college dropouts.

Nancy, my ever-loving step-mom, was busy calling all branches of the military to let them know I was a college dropout and thus now eligible to be drafted.

When I finally was able to speak to my parents they simply told me to find another place to live and to get a job. I did both. I moved in with some friends and got a job working at Asbury Transportation Company in Los Angeles loading oil-well freight from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. That’s where I was working when my father was elected governor of California.

Did I complain that my lowly job was beneath my new station in life as the son of the governor of California? How could I? I was the one who set that bar low when I dropped out of college. So to all you spoiled brats marching and wanting better pay or bigger allowances, take a good, long look in the mirror, not at Wall Street, and if you want to blame something blame OBAMACARE! Your employers or parents have to spend the money you might have received in raises to pay for that socialist monstrosity.

I am still amazed that these kids can find time to congregate in city streets, which are in many cases far from their hometowns. Somebody has to be paying their way; in most cases their beleaguered parents are stuck with the bill for their latest adventure, which has nothing to do with education and a lot to do with left-wing politics and public lovemaking, if that’s what it’s called.

And the media willingly – indeed, eagerly — give the protesters lots of free publicity. Media outlets should start ignoring them and we’ll see how fast they disband and slink back home. They thrive on the publicity the media provide.

Finally, the long-suffering parents ought to close their pockets and deny their wayward brats the money that allows them to travel to the big city to make pests of themselves.

Go home. Now. But before you do, clean up the messes you have made.

Perry, Romney and Cain will all fade away, says Burkman

Paul Joseph Watson

Wednesday, October 13, 2011

Republican Strategist Jack Burkman told Fox Business host Judge Andrew Napolitano that “Ron Paul could win the GOP nomination,” given the fact that Perry and Romney’s campaigns have started to crumble whereas Herman Cain has no real political experience.

“I can see Ron Paul catching on….if you look at the whole range of issues and if you look at who else is out there, there aren’t a lot of choices,” said Burkman.

Adding that Ron Paul tied together a lot of concerns shared by social conservatives, Burkman stated, “I’m going to make a bold prediction – Ron Paul could win the GOP nomination. A lot of people are going to think that’s fanciful, let’s take a look at it, Perry is starting to stumble, Bachmann and Gingrich probably already out, Romney the frontrunner….it’s impossible for him to win, he can’t get through the South on Super Tuesday, question becomes who’s left.”

Burkman added that Herman Cain, although surging in polls at present, had “no real political experience” and that his campaign would eventually go nowhere.

“I could easily see Paul surging,” concluded Burkman.

Burkman can hardly be dismissed as a Paulite cheerleader, indeed he is one of the few mainstream media talking heads who dares to admit that Ron Paul has a chance of success.

Burkman is a Washington DC-based political consultant and regularly appears on mainstream networks, including Fox News, ABC News, MSNBC and CNN.

As we have documented, the establishment is petrified that Ron Paul could build the kind of momentum that would catapult him to the head of a line in a field dominated by compromised candidates who all have skeletons in their closet, from Herman Cain’s Fed connections to Mitt Romney’s Obamacare identikit past.

That’s why they’ve deliberately crafted a policy to ignore, dismiss and ridicule his campaign, despite the fact that Paul has repeatedly performed well in both straw polls and national polls of likely Republican voters.

It’s also why Ron Paul is routinely given significantly less time in televised debates than the likes of Romney, Cain and Rick Perry.

As we reported earlier this week, Tony Perkins, the principal organizer of the Values Voters Summit derided his own group’s straw poll as irrelevant after Ron Paul won, dismissing the results as not being “truly reflective of where values voters stand.”

Speaking before the results were announced, Congressman Paul stated, “If I win, it wouldn’t be as important to the media than if I lose.”

Indeed, Perkins’ dismissal of the importance of the poll result continues the trend where straw polls are only deemed important if they are won by establishment Republicans.

When Michele Bachmann won the Iowa straw poll, the mainstream media gushed with enthusiasm and immediately classified Bachmann as a frontrunner, while completely ignoring Ron Paul’s strong second place showing less than 200 votes behind the Minnesota Republican.

However, when Ron Paul won a big victory in the California straw poll just weeks later, the corporate press all but blacklisted the story.

Both CNN and Fox News have also sabotaged their own polls after Ron Paul emerged as the winner, CNN by swapping the poll to get different results and Fox News by deleting it from from their website altogether.

This process of downplaying Paul’s victories while trumpeting those of his rivals is how the establishment attempts to dictate reality – this is how “frontrunners” are manufactured from the top down.

Gunny G: Chesty Puller On Loyalty Down…..

October 13, 2011 3 comments

Amid a nationwide public outcry regarding the whole matter of the drownings in particular and Marine Corps training practices in general, LtGen Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller was recalled to active duty to testify at the trial regarding Marine training and tradition.

Mrs. Puller protested to her husband citing previous trouble and controversy in Puller’s career. Puller told her, “

…The important thing is the Marine Corps. If we let ‘em, they’ll tear it to pieces. Headquarters won’t speak up. It’s my duty to do it.”

Create an Anonymous Website by Bill Rounds

To publish a website, there are several points of weakness where identifying information could be gleaned. Political activists and whistleblowers will be able to easily circumvent identity requirements at each one of these points, allowing them to anonymously publish material online with an anonymous website.

Anonymous Website Domain Name

A website needs a domain name (one of those .com things) which must be bought and paid for through a domain registry like GoDaddy. Most domain registries allow people to protect their identity by using a domain registration proxy. Using these proxies is not sufficient to protect identity because identifying information must still be shared with the proxy, which can be pressured to reveal it.

To prevent the domain registry from revealing their identity to anyone, political activists will simply enter pseudanonymous information, like Publius or Silence Dogood. If they are really sneaky they may even enter the information of a competitor to register their domain or use an anonymous domain registrar.

Anonymous Website Payment

An important link in the chain is payment for services. Even if a pen name is provided, the person paying for the domain name could easily be tracked down by ruthless government officials by tracking down the source of payment, making an anonymous website less anonymous. To avoid leaving an audit trail back to their own financial accounts, political journalists may pay for their domain name with a money order paid for in cash, use a prepaid credit card (which they paid cash to acquire) or pay with Bitcoins. There are several companies that offer domain name registration for Bitcoins. If they send payment from a Bitcoin address that has not been published anywhere else, it will be hard to trace payments to them.

1984+ IS UPON US RIGHT NOW! : Iranian Terror Plot: Fake, Fake, Fake by Justin Raimondo

Iranian Terror Plot: Fake, Fake, Fake by Justin Raimondo

Iranian Terror Plot: Fake, Fake, Fake by Justin Raimondo:

The key to understanding just how fake this story is can be found in the New York Times report, which informs us:

“For the entire operation, the government’s confidential sources were monitored and guided by federal law enforcement agents, Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District, said in the news conference. ‘So no explosives were actually ever placed anywhere,’ he said, ‘and no one was actually in ever in any danger.'”

Translation: the whole thing is phony from beginning to end.

This is another one of US law enforcement’s manufactured “anti-terrorist” triumphs, where the feds set somebody up, fabricate a “crime” out of thin air, and then proceed to “solve” a case that never really existed to begin with.

This has been the general pattern of our “anti-terrorist” operations in the US since the beginning – because finding and catching real terrorists is much too hard, at least for our Keystone Kops. Instead of going out and actually, you know, looking for the Bad Guys, and then apprehending them, they lure some unsuspecting Muslim immigrant into a trap, and spring it when the time is right…..

The daughter of a Mormon bishop who has abandoned her family’s faith claims in a new book the election of Mitt Romney to the presidency would put the U.S. in danger due to what she calls the Republican’s “outrageous,” “horrific” and “mind-controlling” beliefs.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann

“While he attempts to portray Mormonism as just another Christian religion, Mitt Romney counts on his skills to shift our attention away from what he truly believes,” says Tricia Erickson, author of “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters? The Mormon Church Versus the Office of the Presidency of the United States of America.”

“If the American people knew what he truly believed, they would surely not place him in the highest office in the land.”…..

The Revolution is Upon Us…..

October 13, 2011 Leave a comment

The protests unfolding before our eyes are part of the coming upheaval necessary to deliver America over to Marxist control.

Cooperation of the authorities in politically correct times are making it easy for OWS to foment the Revolution.

Today protesters will flood Manhattan restaurants dawdling over coffee until New York City crews can clean the park they have called home these past three weeks.

The same mayor who courted Ground Zero Mosque principals is doing the politically correct thing for Zucotti Park after the park’s owner made sanitation concerns a priority.

In other words, New York, already picking up a $2million tab for police protection during the protest, will first clean up their mess and then allow the protesters to move back in.

“Brookfield Properties, the owner of the park, had outlined its concerns in a letter to the city’s police commissioner, Ray Kelly.” (Fox News, Oct. 12, 2011).

“The company told police that it had received “hundreds of phone calls and emails” from locals complaining about “lewdness, groping, drinking and drug use, the lack of safe access and usage of the Park, ongoing noise at all hours, unsanitary conditions and offensive odors,” NBC New York reports…..

The Economic Collapse

October 13, 2011

An increasing number of politicians and celebrities are openly declaring that if the economy continues to decline, it could lead to civil unrest, more crime and outbreaks of violence all over America. But instead of loudly denouncing the coming violence, many of them are making it sound like the natural response for those that have lost hope in the economy is to resort to violence. This is extremely unfortunate. The truth is that violence is not the solution to any of our problems. Violence is only going to make things worse. But right now a lot of big names are warning that if significant changes are not made soon, the only alternative is going to be civil unrest and violence. In fact, one of the latest to make a bold declaration like this is Vice President Joe Biden. According to Biden, there are going to be a lot more rapes and a lot more murders if Congress does not pass Obama’s jobs plan.

NY Times

October 13, 2011

More than 60 years ago, in his “Foundation” series, the science fiction novelist Isaac Asimov invented a new science — psychohistory — that combined mathematics and psychology to predict the future.

Now social scientists are trying to mine the vast resources of the Internet — Web searches and Twitter messages, Facebook and blog posts, the digital location trails generated by billions of cellphones — to do the same thing.

The most optimistic researchers believe that these storehouses of “big data” will for the first time reveal sociological laws of human behavior — enabling them to predict political crises, revolutions and other forms of social and economic instability, just as physicists and chemists can predict natural phenomena.

“This is a significant step forward,” said Thomas Malone, the director of the Center for Collective Intelligence at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “We have vastly more detailed and richer kinds of data available as well as predictive algorithms to use, and that makes possible a kind of prediction that would have never been possible before.”
