President Obama is still bugging birthers by rubbing copies of his birth certificate into their faces. Now the campaign is selling “Made in the USAcoffee mugs for Obama supporters. The mugs cost $20.

“There’s really no way to make the birth certificate conspiracy completely go away, so we might as well laugh at it — and make sure as many people as possible are in on the joke.” reads the description on the Obama 2012 website. “Get your Made In The USA mug today.”

WHAT IS TRUE CONSERVATISM?

by Thinkwell

William F. Buckley (1925-2008) is considered by some to be “the preeminent voice of American conservatism” during the second half of the 20th century

(May 5, 2010) — I can’t believe CINO-infested Townhall has allowed one of its authors, Diana West, to mention the natural born Citizenship issue. I quit reading Townhall in disgust about six months ago because Townhall would not touch this fundamental Constitutional issue. I found Ms. West’s article via a Google search. Perhaps I should give Townhall another chance?

With this in mind, I just ran a Google advanced search on the phrase “natural born,” limited only to the “townhall.com” domain and found no other recent articles on this subject — an absolute zero (you know, just like the _resident-in-chief). There were quite a few hits from reader comments, so at least Townhall is not actively squelching all mention of the eligibility issue, but sadly, it appears that Diana West is the only regular Townhall author who is willing to formally broach this important subject in defense of the Constitution.

With that in mind, I think I will go ahead with my cancellation of Townhall.com and just keep an eye out for individual Diana West articles (it certainly will keep the email inbox a lot tidier)…….

Expert: ‘Forger’ of Obama birth record left red herring

October 18, 2011 2 comments

This is the second in a two-part series of articles examining how researcher Ron Polland duplicated the Obama long-form birth certificate released by the White House April 27 to support his belief that the document is a forgery. The first article detailed the methodology Polland used to deconstruct the White House document for the purpose of constructing his forged version. This article examines Polland’s deductions about the alleged forger or forgers.

Researcher Ron Polland, who produced a duplicate of Barack Obama’s long-form birth certificate to bolster his argument, believes that the White House-released document was made by a professional forger who created a red herring, intentionally leaving anomalies that could be interpreted as signs of forgery but readily explained.

“The forger was not an amateur and releasing a PDF that looked like an obvious forgery was not an accident,” he said.

Autographed copies of Jerome Corsi‘s “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” are available only from the WND Superstore

Polland, who believes there could have been more than one forger, has concluded that the primary forger had a specific appearance in mind for the document. Rather than hide the fact that the PDF was forged, the forger wanted it to be “discovered” initially by critics to be a forgery, he said.

“The forger wanted to create specific anomalies in the PDF that would be interpreted as evidence of forgery, [while] under certain circumstances these anomalies are actually predictable natural outcomes of the software being used,” he explained.

The intent, Polland explained, was to enable critics to point to the anomalies as evidence of forgery, so Obama supporters could refute the objections by explaining that the anomalies could be produced, for instance, by running various optimizing, sharpening and adaptive compression procedures resident in Adobe software.

To produce those anomalies, the alleged forger did not “flatten” the PDF file, a process that melds the layers and makes it appear to be a single-layer document.

Polland’s expertise includes computer graphics and the use of computer peripherals, such as printers and scanners to input digital images. He earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems from Florida State University in 1978 and a masters degree in Educational Research & Psychology from Florida State in 1972.

Ron Paul Releases the ONLY Presidential Candidate Balanced Budget Proposal

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

New American

October 18, 2011

Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas) unveiled a balanced budget proposal, Plan to Restore America, October 17 that would cut nearly $1 trillion — $981 billion — from the President’s budget proposal in the single fiscal year of 2013 and eliminate the annual deficits completely two years later.

No other presidential candidate has revealed a balanced budget in any number of years, including the incumbent President Barack Obama. And no sitting congressman or senator has proposed a budget plan that would balance the budget in less than 30 years other than Congressman Paul’s son, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (whose proposal would balance the budget within five years).

“A lot of people will say that cutting a trillion dollars in one year, that sounds radical,” the Texas congressman and obstetrician quipped at a press conference announcing the proposal. “But you know, I operate on the assumption that the radicals have been in charge way too long. Both from left and right, we have heard the arguments that deficits don’t really matter. And they really haven’t mattered for a very long time or we wouldn’t have this debt.”

President Barack Obama has proposed “spending cuts” of $3.1 trillion in recent months, but those cuts would be cuts from expected spending increases in the budget “baseline,” and Obama’s cuts are phased in over 10 years (and mostly on the back end of the 10 years). Paul’s cuts would be in a single budget year and cut real dollar spending by more than $800 billion from fiscal 2012 to fiscal 2013.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Paul’s program would eliminate the Transportation Security Agency and all foreign aid, abolish five cabinet-level agencies, and freeze most mandatory spending at fiscal 2006 levels. “We get rid of five departments, and that’s a start,” he joked in his October 17 press conference. The Paul proposal would eliminate the Departments of Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Interior, and Education, but would transfer some operations — such as Pell Grants and management of national parks — to other cabinet-level agencies. Paul said he would accomplish the cuts without federal employee layoffs, noting that “nobody gets laid off immediately, they get laid off through attrition.”

Larry McDonald — An American Hero Remembered

October 18, 2011 1 comment

…Aside from his political activism, Dr. McDonald was also a noted surgeon at the McDonald Urological Clinic. He served as acting Chairman of the Georgia State Medical Board, was a charter member of the Economic Monetary Investment Research Society, and served on the Economic Committee of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons.

Almost three months before his fateful flight, McDonald succeeded Robert Welch as leader of the John Birch Society. Around the same time, Congressman McDonald was also appointed chairman of the Special Operation Forces Panel of the House Armed Services Committee.

While McDonald was en route to give his speech in Seoul, Soviet fighter jets identified and fired upon his plane over Soviet airspace. While he and the rest of the passengers were presumed killed, their eventual fate has been the subject of several conflicting reports. For example, in the years following the shootdown, evidence has arisen suggesting that flight KAL 007 was either forced down or safely crash-landed on Sakhalin Island, off the east coast of the Soviet Union just northwest of Japan.

In 1991, Robert W. Lee of The New American wrote an extensive article in which he explored what may have happened to the plane and its surviving passengers. Today Bert Schlossberg runs a website dedicated to the victims of flight 007, in which he also addresses the possible fate and whereabouts of the survivors, including Larry McDonald. Schlossberg also discusses the fate of the plane and its passengers in his book Rescue 007.

There can be no dispute, however, about McDonald’s distinguished role as one of the leading American patriots of the 20th Century.

Twenty-seven years later, Larry McDonald has yet to be bestowed the recognition he deserves in history, an oversight that we hope can begin to change as more Americans continue to learn about him and take the time to honor him on September 1st…..

Papers Reveal Evolution of Term “Military-Industrial Complex”

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Papers released to the public on December 10 by the Eisenhower Presidential Library appear to show that as America’s 34th President prepared his farewell address to the nation, he toyed with several options before coming up with the term “military-industrial complex” to describe his supposed fears of a highly placed network of powerful groups and individuals driving the nation’s foreign policy.

The previously unseen papers came in the form of drafts of Mr. Eisenhower’s farewell speech found among other papers at a northern Minnesota cabin owned by Malcolm Moos, former University of Minnesota president and one-time speech writer for Mr. Eisenhower. Moos’ son discovered the papers, covered with pine cones and other debris at the remote cabin, and turned them over to the Eisenhower library in October.

“We are just so fortunate that these papers were discovered,” said Karl Weissenbach, director of the library. “We were finally able to fill in the gaps of the address. For a number of years it was apparent that there were gaps.”

In part, the papers appear to show the evolution of the term “military-industrial complex” coined by the President and used for years afterward in foreign policy debate. During the nearly two years it took the president, chief speech writer Moos, and even Mr. Eisenhower’s brother, Milton, to hammer out the text of the speech, the now-historic term evolved from “war-based industrial complex,” to “vast military-industrial complex,” and finally to simply “military-industrial complex.”…..

As for you, why, youll be shocked because you didnt see it coming. And eventually youll be saddened when you see that we have truly lost the way of life with which you grew up. Youll be saddened that your children and grandchildren live in a socialist, government-controlled gulag where their every movement from cradle to grave is tracked by the government. But most of all, youll be saddened by the death of friends and relatives who are brave enough to fight and die for something they believe in.

You know, McCain wasnt much of a candidate. Ill give you that. He was the lesser of two evils for most of us. I dont blame you for not voting for him since, at the time, you didnt know what we all know now. But at least John McCain was an American. He was a supporter of the American way of life and he understood that you cant negotiate with terrorists. He understood and appreciated the sacrifice made by my father and other members of the Greatest Generation.

Mark my words friends. All across America…..

Alan Stang Passes Away at 80…

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Former John Birch Society writer and speaker Alan Stang succumbed to cancer in his home state of Texas on July 19th. Stang was born and raised in New York City. Once a New York City taxicab driver and ballroom dance instructor, he was a graduate of City College of New York and Columbia University. He became a writer/producer for shows featuring television personality Mike Wallace.

Early influenced by the libertarian movement, he found a more appealing ideological friendship and membership with the John Birch Society where he became a close friend of JBS Founder Robert Welch. Best remembered for his many articles in American Opinion magazine, the predecessor of The New American, Stang frequently crisscrossed the nation for the American Opinion Speakers Bureau. His revelations about revolutionaries in New Mexico stopped their plans to take over the state and convert it into a Marxist territory. He also wrote many articles about numerous unconstitutional federal agencies.

The author of more than a dozen books, his most famous are the Western Islands paperbacks It’s Very Simple: The True Story of Civil Rights (1965) and The Actor: The True Story of John Foster Dulles (1968). In 1974, Western Islands published his first novel, The Highest Virtue…..

WOMEN IN COMBAT THE ULTIMATE SUBVERSION By: Alan Stang

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

I would not be at all surprised were the totalitarian monsters who presently run our government to give Jessica Lynch the Medal of Honor. They tell us that the feisty teenager fired everything she had and killed as many as she could before she was captured. So far, they haven’t told us how she acquired her curious wounds, so many broken bones including spinal injury. They haven’t told us whether the Saddamites gave her the treatment they routinely gave females they didn’t like. Remember that rape was one of the lesser reasons, after Weapons of Mass Destruction, why we needed to effect “regime change” in Iraq.

The buildup already has begun. If the totalitarians decide to do as we expect, they would use Jessica as the symbol of the new, genderless, interchangeable military; she would be perfect for the job because she is so petite and appears to be so feminine. Substantial female enlistment would thereby be encouraged, which would make it easy to include women when the military draft is resumed. Soon, we could see Jessica, rather than Uncle Sap, pointing at us from the nation’s billboards, saying, “I want you.”

So the time is right for another look at women in combat. Of course, we have…..

POPULATION EXTERMINATION How It Will Be Done By: Alan Stang

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Regular readers of these diatribes are aware that one of the conspiracy for world government’s persistent goals is a massive reduction of the earth’s population. There are just too many people out there for the conspirators to control, so they want to eliminate some of them. The “ideal society” that results would include the few conspirators at the top and the rest of us slaves at the bottom to serve them.

Over the years, they have concocted many spurious justifications for the purpose, including the “ecology movement,” Zero Population Growth, phony energy “shortages,” etc. That is one of the reasons the birth rate has fallen among bamboozled American women – and especially among European women – while it booms among illegal aliens.

The idea is that there are just too many people for the planet to sustain. Indeed, the Communist UN is hawking a program called Agenda 21, which includes a scam called “sustainable development.” It means total, totalitarian control of the environment and is presently being implemented here in these united States…..

Debate chief raises issue of McCain’s eligibility – again!

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

The co-chairman of the private organization that organizes the debates between the major presidential candidates has raised the issue of Sen. John McCain‘s eligibility during the 2008 race – again.

But Frank Fahrenkopf of the Commission on President Debates, during an interview on the Fox News Channel, did not mention the numerous questions surrounding then-Sen. Barack Obama‘s qualifications for the same office

And today, a spokeswoman for the organization flatly refused to comment to WND on the dispute over Obama’s eligibility.

Autographed copies of Jerome Corsi‘s “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” are available only from the WND Superstore

The focus of the interview was the debates that soon are to be announced for the 2012 presidential campaign, presumably between Obama on the Democratic ticket and a still-to-be-picked candidate on the GOP side.

Fahrenkopf explained the private organization’s requirements for candidates to be included in the debates, stating that a candidate must be born in the United States.

FEMA Communication Takeover Test Scheduled for November 9

October 18, 2011 2 comments

FEMA, the FCC, and Homeland Security plan to commandeer the airwaves next month. The Emergency Alert System (EAS) will be tested at 1 PM EST on November 9. EAS alerts are transmitted over radio and television broadcast stations, cable television and other media services.

Local and state EAS components are tested weekly and monthly, but this will be the first national test of the system. It is significant that FEMA will conduct the mandatory test.

FEMA was created by executive fiat. EO 12148 was signed into law by a stroke of Jimmy Carter’s pen on July 20, 1979. FEMA is described as a federal agency designed to coordinate government response to natural disasters that overwhelm the resources of local and state authorities.

In fact, the federal agency was established as part of a martial law mechanism.

FEMA plans on suspension of the US constitution exposed during Iran contra hearings. Oliver North is questioned by Jack Brooks.

Under Reagan, FEMA was headed by Louis O. Giuffrida, the former national guard general who contributed to the Garden Plot and Cable Splicer, two sub programs under REX 84, a plan to establish concentration camps in America. Operation Cable Splicer is described as “the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the federal government.” For more information on these martial law programs, see Mary Louise, Stalag 17, American Style Plans For Civilian Internment (& Worst).

Giuffrida, a counterinsurgency enthusiast, focused the agency’s resources on the “civil disturbance” aspect of its charter and worked to undermine Posse Comitatus. In 1982, Reagan formally militarized FEMA with National Security Decision Directive (NSDD 26). The result was a series of national training exercises led by the military. Under REX 82, civilian police from around the country received what FEMA euphemistically referred to as “military police methods” for quelling domestic political unrest.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Under Reagan, with Giuffrida at the helm, FEMA mutated “civil defense planning into a military/police version of civil society,” a plan on a collision course with Posse Comitatus.

“Hidden behind FEMA’s benevolent face as the body whose chief responsibility is disaster relief, another FEMA exists,” Ritt Goldstein wrote in 2002, referring to Bush’s effort to turn the agency into a counter-terrorism and “enemy combatant” detention outfit under the newly established Department of Homeland Security.

“At present, the final contents and disposition of the Reagan security initiatives, part of a national crisis plan, remains beyond public knowledge,” Goldstein writes. “But given the ‘War On Terror’s’ scope, even if a formal crisis is not declared, speculation exists that a de facto drift into an effective deployment of FEMA’s crisis powers could occur.”

Next month’s EAS test represents the public notification aspect of that national crisis plan. It is significant that EAS will be tested nationally. Natural disasters are usually regional affairs and do not require a nationwide response. The new national EAS system is designed for a more significant event that conforms to the implementation of martial law as envisioned under Garden Plot and Cable Splicer, a plan that was nearly revealed when Representative Jack Brooks of Texas grilled Oliver North during the Iran-Contra hearings in 1987 (see the video above).

Camp Alinsky Crowd Goes … Full Alinsky

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

From our friend Michael Walsh at the National Review’s The Corner. He’s got a historical piece referencing the “progressive” action in Rochester, N.Y. during the mid-to-late 1960s and how they relate to current protests.

Read the full post, but a taste…

Alinsky rode into town on a one-trick pony that the Left has since turned into its warhorse: Agitate one side’s grievances, and appeal to another side’s decency and gullibility in order to provoke the establishment, whose reaction will unite the other two. Then the community organizer charges in on his nag-turned-steed and proceeds to set the rot in motion under the banner of “progress.”

Even though the activists want you to think the riots were in response to oppression by the man – in Rochester’s case Kodak not hiring enough minorities – they were really kicked off when police responded to a dance chaperone calling police to help remove an unruly and drunk party-goer.

The disturbance began at a Friday evening street dance sponsored by the Northeast Mothers Improvement Association. One of the chaperones called police to complain about an intoxicated young man and when police attempted to arrest him, the crowd interfered. The officers called for backup and when a K-9 unit arrived on the scene, the crowd became enraged.

Alinsky showed up and picked Kodak as a primary target since they were the largest employer in town.

Just an interesting historical perspective for you this morning.

ATF allowed firearms to “walk” under previous incarnation of Fast and Furious

Paul Joseph Watson

Prison Planet.com

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

During an appearance on CBS News’ Face the Nation on Sunday, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa acknowledged that an almost identical program to Fast and Furious, in which the federal government trafficked guns directly to suspected criminals, existed under the Bush administration.

Issa’s comments about a similar program being operational under the Bush administration appear at the 3:50 mark.

“We know that, under the Bush administration, there were similar operations, but they were coordinated with Mexico,” Issa, R-Calif., said. “They made every effort to keep their eyes on the weapons the whole time. So we’re not, per se, saying that tracing weapons is a bad idea.”

Based out of Arizona, the Bush-era program ran from 2006 to the end of 2007 and was dubbed “Operation Wide Receiver.” Similarly to Fast and Furious, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed firearms to “walk” to suspected gun traffickers without them being interdicted.

Democrats will obviously cite the fact that an almost identical program was up and running during the Bush administration as a way to try and absolve the Obama administration and particularly Attorney General Eric Holder of blame for Fast and Furious.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Indeed, Maryland Democrat Elijah Cummings immediately highlighted Issa’s comments to claim that Fast and Furious was a “local issue that never got to higher-ups,” and that AG Holder was unaware of its existence.

However, contrary to his Congressional testimony, records show that Holder was sent briefings on Fast and Furious by both Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer and the National Drug Intelligence Center in July 2010, almost a year before he told a Judiciary Committee hearing, “I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.”

However, what this really tells us is that there was a continuation of policy and a mere passing of the baton, with the ATF not letting a presidential election get in the way of business as usual.

The only real difference under the Obama administration is that prior to the program being publicly exposed, Obama exploited it as a method through which to demonize the second amendment by claiming that Mexican drug lords were sourcing their guns from the United States, while hiding the fact that this was a result of the federal government delivering truck loads to drug gangs directly.

This was likely what Obama was referring to during a March 30 meeting between Jim and Sarah Brady and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, at which Obama “dropped in,” when he told Brady that the administration was “working on” gun control “under the radar”.

The Full Alinsky

The Full Alinsky:

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, what’s going on in Washington and across the country is the Full Alinsky, brought to you by the same malcontents who have been awaiting this moment for more than 40 years. It’s been a long time wandering in the desert for the Sixties Left, but this is their moment, this is their time, as somebody or other from Punahou once said.

The Great Man himself was already there, agitating and “organizing” for two years by the time I got to Rochester, N.Y., in the fall of 1967 to attend the Eastman School of Music. His target was the Eastman Kodak Co., and his human battering rams were members of the city’s black community, which had exploded in a riot in 1964.

In the wake of the unrest, Rochester was already visibly on the slide when Alinsky got there, whipsawing both the black neighborhoods (which had largely been the old Jewish neighborhoods) and the useful idiots of the Rochester Area Council of Churches to hack away at the city’s then-prosperous business community and its WASPy leadership……

Medicare Fraud With ‘erectile pumps’

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

In Rhode Island, a different take on Medicare fraud has been discovered. Gary Winner, 49, was purchasing penis enlargers from an adult website and then repackaging them as medical devices that were sold to patients claiming the device helped, “bladder control, urinary flow and prostate comfort.” Winner paid $26 for the pumps then charged Medicare $284 for the device that treated erectile dysfunction. Word must have gotten around about this miracle cure. Winner reaped $2 million before he was caught. Medicare reimburses for products treating impotence and erectile dysfunction.

Winner (pronounced “winner” for any of those who may have been trying to guess differently), has pled guilty to health care fraud, money laundering and introduction of an adulterated and misbranded medical device into interstate commerce (try explaining that one to your fellow inmates).

Winner is scheduled to be sentenced on October 18 and could get up to 33 years in prison. While it is sad that Winner resorted to this type of fraud, the puns that one could come up with are endless. I’m so pumped for the weekend!

Medicare fraud is on the rise and the FBI is cracking down on it. Recently, Lawrence Duran, 49, was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for his role in a $205 million Medicare fraud scheme. His partner in the crime, Marianella Valera, 40, was sentenced to 35 years in prison. These are serious crimes with serious consequences.

Pitting Us Against Each Other (Walter Williams)

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party have led increasingly successful efforts to pit Americans against one another through the politics of hate and envy. Attacking CEO salaries, the president – last year during his Midwest tour – said, “I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money.”

Let’s look at CEO salaries, but before doing so, let’s look at other salary disparities between those at the bottom and those at the top. According to Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list for 2010, Oprah Winfrey earned $290 million. Even if her makeup person or cameraman earned $100,000, she earned thousands of times more than that. Is that fair?

Among other celebrities earning hundreds or thousands of times more than the people who work with them are Tyler Perry ($130 million), Jerry Bruckheimer ($113 million), Lady Gaga ($90 million) and Howard Stern ($76 million). According to Forbes, the top 10 celebrities, excluding athletes, earned an average salary of a little more than $100 million in 2010.

According to The Wall Street Journal Survey of CEO Compensation (November 2010), Gregory Maffei, CEO of Liberty Media, earned $87 million, Oracle’s Lawrence Ellison ($68 million) and rounding out the top 10 CEOs was McKesson’s John Hammergren, earning $24 million. It turns out that the top 10 CEOs have an average salary of $43 million, which pales in comparison with America’s top 10 celebrities, who earn an average salary of $100 million.

When you recognize that celebrities earn salaries that are some multiples of CEO salaries, you have to ask: Why is it that rich CEOs are demonized and not celebrities? A clue might be found if you asked: Who’s doing the demonizing?

It turns out that the demonizing is led by politicians and leftists with the help of the news media, and like sheep, the public often goes along. Why demonize CEOs? My colleague Dr. Thomas Sowell explained it in his brand-new book, “The Thomas Sowell Reader.” One of his readings, titled “Ivan and Boris – and Us,” starts off with a fable of two poor Russian peasants.

Ivan finds a magic lamp and rubs it, and the jinni grants him one wish. As it turns out, Boris has a goat, but Ivan doesn’t. Ivan’s wish is for Boris’ goat to die. That vision reflects the feelings of too many Americans. If all CEOs worked for nothing, it would mean absolutely little or nothing to the average American’s bottom line.

For politicians, it’s another story: Demonize people whose power you want to usurp. That’s the typical way totalitarians gain power. They give the masses someone to hate. In 18th-century France, it was Maximilien Robespierre’s promoting hatred of the aristocracy that was the key to his acquiring more dictatorial power than the aristocracy had ever had.

In the 20th century, the communists gained power by promoting public hatred of the czars and capitalists. In Germany, Adolf Hitler gained power by promoting hatred of Jews and Bolsheviks. In each case, the power gained led to greater misery and bloodshed than anything the old regime could have done.

Let me be clear: I’m not equating America’s liberals with Robespierre, Josef Stalin and Hitler. I am saying that promoting jealousy, fear and hate is an effective strategy for politicians and their liberal followers to control and micromanage businesses.

It’s not about the amount of money people earn. If it were, politicians and leftists would be promoting jealousy, fear and hate toward multimillionaire Hollywood and celebrities and sports stars, such as LeBron James ($48 million), Tiger Woods ($75 million) and Peyton Manning ($38 million). But there is no way that politicians could take over the roles of Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga and LeBron James. That means celebrities can make any amount of money they want and it matters not one iota politically.

The Occupy Wall Street crowd shouldn’t focus its anger at wealthy CEOs. A far more appropriate target would be the U.S. Congress.

Rush Limbaugh is right about Ron Paul

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

I became a conservative because of Rush Limbaugh. In fact, only three contemporary American political figures have had a real life-changing influence on me: Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan during his presidential runs in the 1990s, and Ron Paul, for whom I remain a humble servant as his 2012 campaign’s official blogger.

But first there was Rush.

In the summer of 1992, my mother would often fold laundry in the family kitchen while listening to Limbaugh’s radio program. Regularly listening with her, usually over lunch, quickly my interest went from curiosity to ardent devotion. By the time I was 17, I considered myself a hardcore conservative, scheduling my days around Limbaugh’s program, which I would eagerly listen to for all three hours. I devoured his books “The Way Things Ought to Be” and “See, I Told You So,” and I watched virtually every episode of his television program. When Rush appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 1995, I arrived at the store as the clerk was turning the key to get the first copy, which asked: “Is Rush Limbaugh Good for America?”

Seeing the cover, I exclaimed, “Yes! Of course he is, you stupid liberals!” aloud in the store.

In the time between then and now, a chasm widened between Rush and I, particularly during the dark days of George W. Bush’s presidency. In the 1990s, Pat Buchanan’s wars with the Republican Party became my wars, and the same has been true of Ron Paul’s battles with the GOP — but these fights were always about the Republican Party not being conservative enough….

The TEA party’s Cain mutiny

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

The TEA party is in a, mutiny, a Cain Mutiny and the Republican establishment – Karl Tokyo Rove and his “open the borders to get Hispanics to vote Republican” friends- don’t know what to do about it.

Last year the TEA party movement scared the Democrats. With the major league butt kicking we put on the Democrats they finally got the message.

Nevertheless, along the way we learned a hard lesson as we watched the Republican establishment savage our candidates in Delaware Nevada and Alaska.

They helped Harry Reid hold the Senate because to them Democrats are preferable to TEA partiers. We got their message, now we will be the ones teaching the lessons. Now we will have to scare the Republican establishment, Tokyo Rove types.

Our first order of business in scaring the Republicans is this message: WE WILL NOT NOMINATE WILLARD ROMNEY – PERIOD!

It is not only us who are saying we won’t fall for their “faux” conservative. Consider these recent poll results: Out of 49,000 votes cast in a nine way Newsmax survey, Herman Cain got 35592 or (71%), Willard Romney got 3604 or (7%) – 1/10th Cain’s vote!

The new Zogby poll (certainly no far right operation) shows that not only does Cain beat Willard Romney by 20 points in a race for the Republican nomination, Cain now actually beats Obama and Willard loses to Obama. Suck on that Tokyo Rove!

In the latest Economist/YouGov poll Cain’s 33% almost doubles Willard’s 18%.

The liberal Democrat run Public Policy Polling firm shows Cain beating Willard 30/22 and moving up.

In a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll Willard’s 23 points trailed Cain’s 27 points. While Cain’s numbers increased by almost 5 times what he had August, Willard’s 23 …in August.

Obama’s Teleprompters Stolen on Debt Man Riding Tour, Part Two

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Debt Man Riding, Part 2. Barack Hussein Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm, out there on another bus tour wasting precious fuels, polluting the skies, ruining the climate, when all he would have to do is walk to the Capitol. All he needs is votes from Democrats in the Senate. If he really wants to pass this boondoggle of a jobs bill, just walk across the Capitol, get over there to the Senate, and get those two extra votes. Voila, done! But, no, he has to get in a Canadian-made bus and drive all over North Carolina. He was in Asheville. You know, Asheville, where the famous Vanderbilt estate is, Asheville, North Carolina, he’s there, he’s flitting all around.

And you’ve heard the story about the truck carrying Obama’s teleprompters and other electronic equipment being stolen. Now, we can’t confirm that the teleprompter was actually stolen. The truck was, and the truck was recovered. Whether the prompter was actually stolen, we don’t know. But we do have some evidence, ’cause Obama did speak, and there was no teleprompter. This is what it sounded like.

So while we don’t have any hard evidence the teleprompter was stolen, you be the judge. No, seriously, the bus tour is just a campaign tour. All he needs to do is just walk across town. If he’s worried about saving the climate, drive across town, whatever, and have a meeting with the Senate. Obama and the bus — it’s kind of like Michael Dukakis riding in the tank, looking like Beetle Bailey. Remember that, back in 1988? It’s amazing. That seems like it was yesterday.

Are We going to Stop Romney or What? (Suggestions)

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Folks, In light of the recent posts JR posted on why FR can never support Romney (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2793300/posts), the time has come to take action and ensure that he is not the Republican Nominee in 2012. As you can tell from JR’s post, Mitt has quite a detailed laundry list of items that go far beyond Romneycare, yet in the current political cycle so far, it seems like the driving message so far has been that Romneycare is his “only” flaw. Our conservative candidates in the race have helped raise up this view. Not a single one of them has taken a shot at Mitt outside Romneycare. It seems like many of them are playing the defeatist card and hoping to be on the short list for No. 2. This is unacceptable and if we allow it to continue, we will indeed be saddled with Romney as a nominee.

Therefore, I propose to you “Operation Don’t Tread on Us”. Since the mainstream media will not report and our purported conservative candidates will not bring up in the debates Romney’s full position/issue record, it’s time for the good people of the Tea Party and FR to “help” them out.

What do I mean? I mean doing the job these people were supposed to be doing. Putting Mitt on the spot and asking him the tough questions: like climate change, mandates, and having the quotes ready to contradict the answer he tries to throw at us. From now until the caucus/primaries, we must:

(1)Actively attend and Infiltrate all public Romney Campaign Events and (2)Ensure we get the chance to ask him OUR questions on his record and (3)Have a camera and/or tape recorder ready to go to get his statements on record

Romney has been ignoring the Tea Party for the most part because he knows he differs with us too greatly to ever get any substantial support. We have, in turn, ignored him, and left him to do his bidding with the establishment and moderate wing of the GOP. This must stop now.

Exhibit A: Obama encounter with the Tea Party (This is what we need to do to Romney)

Exhibit B: Wisconsin Senators Go AWOL (Whatever Campaign Event Romney is at, We MUST be there also to ask the tough questions)

Exhibit C: This video has it good (Tea Party Protestors in NH)

I have tried to find a direct clip of Romney encountering Tea Party members asking the “Important” questions, and have found none, a sign that his operational minions are good at keeping them out. Therefore, we’re going to have to get creative at getting in and getting our questions raised and answered (or at least on tape).

Politco has the events calendar for each Presidential candidate laid out. It’s still early, so most candidates have not booked really far in advance for the events they are going to attend because it depends on the polls.

http://www.politico.com/2012-election/calendar/?date=2011-11-06

Romney has the following events scheduled for the upcoming week. Any FReepers or Tea Party members near Sioux Falls, I highly encourage you to go and ask the questions raised under JR’s post concerning Romney’s record. And make sure you get it on tape or audio! If we make the effort to consistently, as a group, challenge Romney on his stances at every major event between now and the first caucuses/primaries, there is NO way he will be able to beat out the other conservatives in the race.

But time is running out. The last major debate for a while is taking place in Vegas. And the first major contests are less than 60-70 days away. We MUST act NOW.

•Oct 19 – 7 pm Speaking at the Sioux Falls Chamber Of Commerce 1101 Northwest Ave., Sioux Falls, S.D. •Oct 20 – No time given Attending a fundraiser hosted by Gov. Dave Heineman 555 South 10th St., Omaha, Neb. •Oct 26 – No time given Hosting a breakfast fundraiser with members of Congress Washington, D.C.

Douglas Schoen warns White House: Don’t back ‘Occupy Wall Street’

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Pollster Douglas Schoen is out with a warning for President Barack Obama: Supporting Occupy Wall Street could cost you a second-term.

“President Obama and the Democratic leadership are making a critical error in embracing the Occupy Wall Street movement—and it may cost them the 2012 election,” Schoen said in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

The movement, which has spread beyond New York City over the last month, “reflects values that are dangerously out of touch with the broad mass of the American people—and particularly with swing voters who are largely independent and have been trending away from the president since the debate over health-care reform,” he wrote.

In the op-ed, Schoen presents “findings” collected by his polling firm — what he touts is probably “the first systematic random sample of Occupy Wall Street opinion.” The numbers show that 52 percent of the Occupy protesters have “participated in a political movement before,” 98 percent said they would “support civil disobedience to achieve their goals,” while 31 percent said they would even “support violence to advance their agenda.”

In addition, Schoen said “an overwhelming majority” of the protesters supported the president in 2008, but that now, only 44 percent of them approve of Obama and only 48 percent of them will vote for him again in 2012.

Robert Taft: Misremembered Conservative | FrumForum:

Many Republicans like to believe that the torch of conservatism has been passed along undimmed through the decades, and that those who now guard the sacred flame can trace their conservative lineage directly to past giants like Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, and Robert Taft.

In fact, the meaning of conservatism has changed drastically with each handoff. The conservatism of Senator Taft – son of President William Howard Taft, leader of the GOP’s right wing during the ‘40s and early ‘50s, three-time unsuccessful contestant for the Republican presidential nomination – had little in common with the current version of conservatism.

Indeed, “Mr. Republican” (as Taft was widely known) likely would have failed the ideological litmus test too many Republicans now seek to apply to would-be party members…..

Robert Taft – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

In 1952 Taft made his third and final try for the GOP nomination; it also proved to be his strongest effort. He had the solid backing of the party’s conservative wing. Former Nebraska Congressman Howard Buffett (father of billionaire Warren Buffett) served as his campaign manager.[13] With Dewey no longer an active candidate many political pundits regarded him as the frontrunner. However, the race changed when Dewey and other GOP moderates were able to convince Dwight D. Eisenhower, the most popular general of World War II, to run for the nomination. According to biographer Stephen Ambrose, Eisenhower agreed to run in part because of his fear that Taft’s non-interventionist views in foreign policy might unintentionally benefit the Soviet Union in the Cold War.[citation needed]

The fight between Taft and Eisenhower for the GOP nomination was one of the closest and most bitter in American political history. When the Republican Convention opened in Chicago in July 1952, Taft and Eisenhower were neck-and-neck in delegate votes, and the nomination was still up for grabs as neither had a majority. On the convention’s first day, Eisenhower’s managers complained that Taft’s forces had unfairly denied Eisenhower supporters delegate slots in several Southern states, including Texas, where the state chairman, Orville Bullington, was committed to Taft, and also in Georgia. The Eisenhower partisans proposed to remove pro-Taft delegates in these states and replace them with pro-Eisenhower delegates; they called their proposal “Fair Play”. Although Taft angrily denied having stolen any delegate votes, the convention voted to support Fair Play 658 to 548, and the Texans voted 33-5 for Eisenhower as a result. In addition, several uncommitted state delegations, such as Michigan and Pennsylvania, agreed to support Eisenhower. There were rumors after the convention that the chairmen of these uncommitted states, such as Arthur Summerfield of Michigan, were secretly pressured by Dewey and the GOP’s Eastern Establishment to support Eisenhower; however, these rumors were never proved. (Summerfield did become Ike’s Postmaster General following the election.)

REAGAN On CONSERVATISM and LIBERTARIANISM…Inside Ronald Reagan – Reason Magazine

October 18, 2011 3 comments

REASON: Governor Reagan, you have been quoted in the press as saying that you’re doing a lot of speaking now on behalf of the philosophy of conservatism and libertarianism. Is there a difference between the two?

REAGAN: If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.

Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions. There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we don’t each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path.

REASON: Governor, could you give us some examples of what you would consider to be proper functions of government?

REAGAN: Well, the first and most important thing is that government exists to protect us from each other. Government exists, of course, for the defense of the nation, and for the defense of the rights of the individual. Maybe we don’t all agree on some of the other accepted functions of government, such as fire departments and police departments–again the protection of the people….

Ron Paul Releases the ONLY Presidential Candidate Balanced Budget Proposal

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Paul said he would accomplish the cuts without federal…..

Obama’s Attempt To Use #OWS As A Diversionary Smoke Screen Fails

October 18, 2011 1 comment

Zero Hedge is the last to cut Wall Street, with its rampant criminality, conflicts of interest, and corruption, any slack – in fact we are often the first to expose it.

That said, we have long found it surprising that popular anger is focused on this particular group of individuals, instead of targeting the just as, if not far more, culpable for the current economic collapse enabling focal point known as Washington D.C. As has been discussed previously, it is no surprise that none other than the president has been quick to embrace the Occupy Wall Street movement and its offshoots as his own: after all it cleanly and efficiently deflects attention from his own near-3 year performance as president.

Surely Obama is neither the first (nor last) to recognize that the scapegoating of a “minority” group (as the Wall Street “1%” clearly is) and use it as a catalyst for class warfare, is a historically very successful tactic.

Well, while thousands of people may express their displeasure with their plight openly before the traditional symbols of Wall Street, it would appear that Obama is failing in his attempt at global diversion from the place where popular anger should truly lie: Congress, Senate, and of course, the White House, without whose (and by ‘whose’ here we clearly envision Tim Geithner, Hank Paulson and Ben Bernanke) blessings Wall Street would not exist in its current form.

Yet it does, and many have figured that out. According to a brand new poll byThe Hill, “in the minds of likely voters, Washington, not Wall Street, is primarily to blame for the financial crisis and the subsequent recession.

The movement appears to have struck a chord with progressive voters, but it does not seem to represent the feelings of the wider public. The Hill poll found that only one in three likely voters blames Wall Street for the country’s financial troubles, whereas more than half — 56 percent — blame Washington.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Moreover, when it comes to the political consequences of the protest, voters tend to believe that there are more perils than positives for Obama and the Democrats.” Sorry Obama, your attempt to demonize bankers (who richly deserve the public pariah status they have achieved, not least of due to the in vitro world they occupy, where anything less than $1 million is pocket change) has failed, and the people recognize that real social change, one that must and will impact Wall Street, has to begin with the commodity most often purchased by Wall Street: politicians… such as yourself.

From The Hill:

A plurality believe that the Occupy Wall Street movement will hurt Democrats and Obama in the 2012 election. Even those whose sympathies lie on the left of center seem unsure about the likely political repercussions. Just half of all liberal likely voters — the group most likely to blame Wall Street for the recession — and fewer than half of all Democrats believe the protests will help their side next year.

The split on the question of apportioning blame for the nation’s economic travails corresponds closely with voters’ political ideologies: More than 7 in 10 conservatives blamed Washington for the recession, while more than 5 in 10 liberals blamed Wall Street.

But self-identified centrists, importantly, appear to be siding with the right on economic issues, with nearly half blaming Washington for the recession.

The difference also reflected voters’ views of Obama: Among those who “strongly” or “somewhat” approve of the president, most blamed Wall Street, while those who “strongly” or “somewhat” disapprove of the president blamed Washington.

Interestingly, those who described themselves as “not sure” about Obama nonetheless blamed Wall Street over Washington by a more than two-to-one margin, 55 percent to 23 percent.

The poll was based on the responses of 1,000 people and has a +/-3% margin of error. The full poll results are below.

The Prohibitionists Are Back! by Eric Margolis

Because of these heresies, Dr. Paul, who is hugely popular among the young and independents, is systematically ignored or scorned by establishment media, even during TV debates.

Jon Hunstsman’s Mormon faith is demeaned by many Protestants as a “cult.” Romney is also a Mormon, a Church Elder and former missionary. Both are unpopular with rightwing Christian Protestants. Cain is a Baptist minister.

Both Paul and Huntsman are far too moderate for Republican party core voters, 44% of whom are believed to be born-again Evangelicals.

As author Kevin Phillips has documented, Republicans have become a theological party of the Christian white far right in America’s heartland. These militant Bible Belt born-again fundamentalists are ardent Zionists and backers of America’s military-security establishment. One recalls the fateful prediction of Sinclair Lewis,

“When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross.”

Interestingly, today’s small town/rural/born-again Republicans closely resemble and hail from the same roots as America’s Prohibitionist anti-drinking movement of the 1920’s. Both today’s religious right and the Prohibitionists were determined, Taliban-style, to punish sinful city dwellers for having too much fun, as the devilish H.L. Mencken pointed out.

Of course, no one gets to be president by telling voters the hard facts they prefer not to hear. Synthetic, flag-waving patriotism still sells big in America’s heartland and rural south. More important, America’s political tradition, electoral system and political-media establishment will ensure that no candidate who strays from the party line is ever elected…..

Baseball as propaganda

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

TUniversity of Connecticut raised some eyebrows last week when it announced a new course next spring will explore the relationship between Major League Baseball and society. Such a class does have potential to teach valuable real-world lessons. But as if UConn‘s course catalog doesn’t already list heavily toward inanity, the chief goal sadly will be to further the indoctrination of students in multiculturalism, racism and feminism. Students who pass will be three credits closer to finishing their majors in African-American or Women’s Studies and thus three credits closer to joblessness after graduation.

Well down the list of the course’s topics will be the economics of baseball. If the hordes of collegiate Wall Street Occupiers are any indication — they are — this course specifically, and every university in America generally, should be concentrating on teaching students the ABCs of economics instead of liberalism’s unholy trinity.

A recent informal survey by Forbes magazine found 98 percent of the protesters in New York City say they should get free health care; 93 percent think they have a constitutional right to free cell-phone and Internet service; 93 percent say the government should absolve them of their student-loan debt; 84 percent want debit-card fees outlawed; and 80 percent say it’s fair that nearly half of all wage-earners pay no income taxes.

Those opinions and others are indicative of America’s job-killing entitlement mentality, enthusiastically nurtured by the class warfare waged by President Obama and the Democratic Party. Huge swaths of the population, including countless brainwashed college graduates, have been taught to believe the government exists to subsidize their lives and grant their every wish and whim, while overtaxing successful Americans to pay for all the freebies. For their part, members of Congress and presidents know the surest way to re-election is to give the people whatever they want, spare no expense, so they do at every opportunity.

Consequently, the government now spends $1.3 trillion more than it takes in every year, has outstanding debts of $14.8 trillion, and has made $116 trillion in entitlement promises it can’t keep. Still, the Occupiers don’t believe government does nearly enough. It should pick up America’s annual $2.3 trillion health-care tab; forgive $1 trillion in outstanding student-loan debt even if it bankrupts lenders and kills thousands of good-paying jobs; give everyone free cell phones and Internet, which would require nationalizing all companies that provided those services; forbid banks from charging debit-card fees; and otherwise steal from the rich and give to the Occupiers.

The UConn course also will delve into MLB as a business, a worthy endeavor. Taught free of the anti-capitalism bias of academia — fat chance — the course would be an economic revelation to students (and faculty) while showing the corrosive economic, fiscal and cultural effects of Big Labor socialism. Thanks to political corruption, unfair advantages have been enshrined in collective-bargaining laws for unions, which have exploited them to drive the cost of labor well beyond its real value in every sector they plague. As elsewhere, the MLB players union has done well by its members, but also has driven the cost of attending a baseball game far beyond the means of many families. If college students were taught the truth about the economy, capitalism and unionism, they might realize today’s worst villains infest government and union halls.

Sadly, academics continue to deny students access to economic truths and exploit every opportunity to denigrate America’s capitalist heritage. UConn’s MLB course could teach students a great deal, but instead will be just another laboratory for advancing liberalism’s lies.

Government Front Group Vows to Abolish Critical Thinking

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Government front group Demos, an integral part of the British establishment which was founded by Marxists, is terrified that children are using the Internet to question what they are taught in school, and has vowed to abolish any such critical thinking to reinforce the education system’s role as a tool of indoctrination.

A BBC News report reflects Demos’ panic at “conspiracy theories” (ie any critical thought that questions the official consensus) being brought into the classroom.

It’s a delicious irony that we’ve highlighted many times before and it underpins the entire education system. While complaining that children are not engaging in “critical thinking,” Demos, a government front group, is abolishing any notion of critical thinking by telling students that they should only believe what the government and the mainstream media tells them is true – the same establishment that has been caught proliferating lies time and time again.

In reality, it is the very fact that students are increasingly engaging in “critical thinking,” ie questioning the official version of events, that has the likes of Demos so petrified.

Having been caught lying and covering-up all manner of scandals, from the WMD farce, to Climategate, to the death of Dr. David Kelly, the British establishment and its sycophantic media cheerleaders like the BBC are losing credibility fast, that’s why young people are turning to alternative sources of information to try and get the truth, something deemed intolerable by the system.

While young people are being intimidated out of critical thinking, they are simultaneously being bombarded with the likes of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, which was sent by the government to British schools in 2007, a documentary found by a British high court judge to contain nine significant errors while making claims in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration.”

It seems believing in “conspiracy theories” is only acceptable for the likes of Demos and the British government if those “conspiracy theories” are generated by and supportive of the state.

Indeed, a University Professor in the United Kingdom recently conducted a comparative analysis of a BBC documentary on 7/7 “conspiracy theories” and an independent documentary in which the official story behind the London bombings is questioned. The Professor concluded that the documentary produced by “conspiracy theorists” was more accurate and more likely to be a truthful representation of the events of 7/7, but don’t expect the government to recommend it be included on the curriculum any time soon.

Other government front groups have also launched state-funded projects to “demolish conspiracy theories” about events like 9/11, or in other words ‘abolish’ any critical thinking about the event and reinforce official propaganda through the school curriculum.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Demos is a front for the insidious Common Purpose network, a group that Lt Cdr Brian Gerrish has exposed as playing a fundamental role in the advancement of Britain’s role in the new world order. Julia Middleton, Chief Executive of Common Purpose, sits on Demos’ advisory council.

The group has waged war on “conspiracy theories,” particularly the suggestion that 7/7 and 9/11 involved state complicity, and has urged the government to “fight back” by infiltrating conspiracy websites to spread state propaganda. Demos has also characterized people who question the official fable of 7/7 and 9/11 as extremists and terrorist recruiters.

The strategy mirrors that advocated by White House information czar Cass Sunstein, who in a 2008 white paper similarly called for conspiracy websites to be infiltrated and undermined in order to dilute their influence. In the same report, Sunstein also called for taxing conspiracy theories (any viewpoint that differs with the official version) and outright banning free speech of which the authorities disapprove.

Demos was founded in 1993 by marxists Martin Jacques and Geoff Mulgan, and was closely affiliated with Tony Blair’s Labour government. Mulgan went on to work inside Downing Street in 1997. Current British Prime Minister David Cameron also works closely with Demos and has given speeches at the group’s events.

Demos has routinely acted as a platform for elitists who wish to drastically alter society, eliminate freedoms, and sacrifice British sovereignty in pursuit of global government. On August 9, 2006, British Home Secretary Dr John Reid, another former marxist, gave a speech at a Demos conference stating that Britons “may have to modify their notion of freedom”, claiming that freedom is “misused and abused by terrorists.”

Demos is partnered with numerous other globalist organizations from government and industry, including IBM, The Carnegie United Kingdom Trust, and Shell International. The organization’s logo includes an all-seeing eye within its design.

Although the group poses as an independent think tank, Demos is little more than a public relations firm for the British government and security services. Its efforts to demonize conspiracy theories in order to “increase trust in the government,” as its own report states, is a transparent ploy to do the bidding of its masters, by demonizing anyone who challenges a corrupt, lying state and its nefarious activities as an extremist and a potential domestic terrorist, while infiltrating schools and acting as thought police to ring-fence what ideas children can and cannot entertain.

Figures prove Texan Congressman given least news coverage out of all Republican candidates

Paul Joseph Watson

A new study by Pew Research Center confirms that the establishment is terrified of Ron Paul’s presidential campaign gaining momentum – figures show that despite his top tier showing in national polls, the Texan Congressman has received the least media coverage out of all the Republican candidates.

Study Confirms Establishment is Terrified of Ron Paul large

“Ron Paul loyalists have been vindicated. After months of observations that the mainstream media was ignoring the libertarian standard-bearer, a new study by the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism shows just that: the Texas Congressman, who has consistently polled in the high single digits — Real Clear Politics’s aggregate poll currently has him at 8 percent — has received the least overall coverage of any candidate. From May 2 to October 9, Paul appeared as the “primary newsmaker in only 2% of all election stories,” reports the Atlantic Wire’s John Hudson…..

Liberalism’s unwashed last stand

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

The failed Obama presidency, however, is just the beginning. The most liberal president in history, with an assist from his predecessor, has unmasked the structural flaws of liberalism itself. All told, nearly $5 trillion of government bailouts and stimulus spending between the two presidents failed to rescue our economy. Their $5 trillion bought the most expensive lesson in human history: Government cannot create wealth, and an overtaxed and overregulated private sector can’t, either.

Keynesian economics, as it has evolved, is the debunked belief that government can stimulate, direct, regulate and bail you into prosperity. This failed religion is now so thoroughly disproved that it simply cannot survive the collapse of the Obama presidency, except perhaps on the calcified pages of the New York Times. After all, if $5 trillion isn’t a large enough stimulus, what is? And if the smartest guy ever to become president can’t manage liberalism, who can?

Enter the disillusioned “Occupy Wall Street” protesters. Suddenly the 1970s “Me Generation” seems altruistic, and the ‘60s hippies seem hygienic. What a perfect name for their movement: “Occupy” – to take up space. If there’s one thing these overcredentialed but undereducated people excel at, it’s taking up space. They occupy university campuses for years without learning skills that can actually contribute to our society’s economy. They demand to occupy a child’s place on their parents’ health insurance plan and then can’t understand why everyone’s premiums have risen further out of reach. They occupy a place in their mothers’ basements and can’t believe their fathers have become little Eichmanns in a capitalist world. Heck, at this point, I’d be happy if they’d just occupy a shower once in a while.

The Tea Party Movement, Republicans, and Ron Paul by Jack Kerwick

October 18, 2011 1 comment

Supposedly, the Tea Party movement is not affiliated with either of our two national political parties. Rather, it is composed of millions of ordinary Americans who, jealous as they are of the liberties bequeathed to them by their progenitors, find intolerable the gargantuan proportions to which the federal government has grown.

This, at any rate, is the conventional account of the genesis and character of the Tea Party movement.

I once endorsed it. Sadly, I no longer can.

It is my considered judgment – a judgment, mind you, from which I derive not the slightest satisfaction – that the Tea Party movement, like the so-called “conservative media” of Fox News and talk radio, has become, if it hasn’t always been, an organ of the GOP.

Those who would convict me of treating the Tea Party movement unfairly on this score shouldn’t be so hasty.

Contrary to the assertions of their leftist critics, that the glaring profligacy of George W. Bush and his Republican-dominated Congress failed to give rise to the Tea Party most certainly is not the function of a lack of sincerity on its members’ part. Still less can this be attributable to some perceived racial animus that the latter have toward the current occupant of the White House. As far as broadening the scope of the federal government is concerned, it is true that Barack H. Obama exploited the trends initiated by his predecessors, both Democrat and Republican alike; yet, understandably enough, both the rapidity and the aggressiveness with which he sought to strengthen this Colossus provoked the backlash that is the Tea Party movement.

The Republicans spared no occasion, and no expense, to feed Leviathan – and yet the Tea Party never came. But it is a mistake to think that this is what warrants concerns regarding Tea Partiers’ declaration of neutrality vis-à-vis political parties. The suspicion that the Tea Party movement is essentially an arm of the Republican Party is not rooted in what it may or may not have done in the past; the suspicion is fueled by what self-identified Tea Partiers are doing right now.

It hasn’t been uncommon to hear Republicans, whether politicians or “conservative” media personalities, wax repentant over having “lost their way”…..

Arpaio Defends Cain’s ‘Electric Fence’

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Sheriff Joe Arpaio made it clear at a Phoenix press conference today that he was not officially endorsing anyone yet in the GOP presidential race, but took a moment to defend Herman Cain’s controversial “electric fence” comment.

At a stop last Saturday in Cookeville, Tennessee, along his Memphis to Nashville bus tour, Cain had explained how he would secure the U.S. border by building an electrified fence along the southern border of the country.

“I got an electric fence; it doesn’t kill people,” Arpaio said Monday at the press conference.

“I was impressed with him and I’m still impressed with him,” said Arpaio.

“I’ll tell you one thing that stands out with me, he’s sort of unconventional. I like to call myself controversial.” Arpaio, best known for his outspoken comments on illegal immigration and his harsh law enforcement tactics in the state of Arizona, said of Cain.

“I think that’s refreshing. The way things are going in this country, that’s why the people like him and support him, he’s a new fresh face and he’s telling it like it is. So I kind of respect people who are not typical politicians,” he said.

He also added that Cain defended his “electric fence” comment as a mere joke.

“He said it was a joke. And all I can tell you, I take controversy too. I have an electric fence around the tent jail. I have illegal immigrants there, I have illegals on the chain gang. So nobody goes after me. So why are they worried about him making a comment during a campaign, speaking from then heart. It just shows he’s frustrated with the government and he told a joke, I guess,” Arpaio said.

Thieves steal truck with President’s equipment

October 18, 2011 1 comment

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – NBC12 has uncovered one of those stories that makes you think: “How in the world does that happen?!” A truck filled with President Obama’s podiums and audio equipment was stolen in Henrico just days before his visit to Chesterfield.

We confirmed an investigation with the U.S. Defense Department. There are still a lot of questions. The biggest one being did the thieves intentionally target the President’s truck or did they take advantage of a crime of opportunity and give a big “uh-oh” when they saw what was inside.

When you see President Obama speak, there is a pretty typical setup including the presidential seal on a podium, the see-thru Teleprompter and a portable sound system.

Thieves saw the truck carrying that equipment and couldn’t resist the target.

Expansive Role of White House Staffers Undermines Good Government

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

In April of 2009, President Obama made a key decision to dramatically expand and extend the role of White House Staffers, giving them the power and responsibility to intervene in just about every decision throughout the federal government. Though hardly noticed at the time, Obama directed that Office of the White House Public Liaison be renamed as the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, headed by his friend and political confidant, Valerie Jarrett. The many new Liaisons were recruited from the most fervent young campaign workers, all of whom were fervent Obama supporters, but who had limited experience in government or in the work of the many agencies in which they would be imbedded.

Inevitably, these new, young and inexperienced White House Liaison officers too often redirected the work of career government servants to meet more expedient political needs of the Obama Administration. The result has been a disaster.

Exclusive: Memo to Fox Business staff – don’t copy Fox News

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Here’s a novel idea: Fox Business Network should focus on covering business news.

At least that’s what Kevin Magee, executive vice president of the News Corp-owned cable news network, is urging his staff to do.

Unhappy with Fox Business’ focus on politics, Magee fired off a memo to employees reminding them that the network was not created to be a light version of its sister Fox News Channel.

“I’ve been asked to remind you all again that they are separate channels and the more we make FBN look like FNC the more of a disservice we do to ourselves,” Magee said in the memo dated October 5, carrying the subject line “Fox News and Fox Business.”

“I understand the temptation to imitate our sibling network in hopes of imitating its success, but we cannot,” Magee went on to say in the memo. “If we give the audience a choice between FNC and the almost-FNC, they will choose FNC every time. Earnings, taxes, jobs etc give us PLENTY to chew on.”

Fox Business, which was launched in October 2007 with $100 million in initial capital, sought to take Wall Street to Main Street by covering business stories for ordinary people — seeing a market as CNBC and Bloomberg Television cater primarily to financial professionals.

But four years on, Fox Business Network’s ratings remain far behind those of CNBC — a disappointing performance in comparison with Fox News, which in four years rose to top then-market leader CNN and has reigned ever since.

In an interview with Reuters on Monday, Magee confirmed sending the memo and said that heading into the U.S. presidential election next year it was worth restating the importance of Fox Business finding its own voice and audience.

The Demander-in-Chief Bus Tour

Quick: What’s the difference between an Obama rally and an OWS rally?

At an Obama rally, the demands are so impractical that no one takes them seriously.

As Obama begins his next prayer rally disguised as campaign whistle-stop tour, I’m wondering how much prayer it’s going to take to save his presidency.

Because the diesel-powered Canadian prayer rug he’s using right now isn’t working very well.

It’s typical of the luckless, wrongheaded president that factory output came out today and the news was good- for those of us who want a thriving, successful commercial marketplace. But don’t count the president amongst that group.

The factory facts illustrate why he’ll be a failure as president.

Two of the three industry sectors that bumped up factory output are two of the sectors that Obama has tried his best to kill this year.

“Factory output rose for a third straight month in September,” says the Associated Press in the Wall Street Journal, “a sign the U.S. economy is growing slowly. Manufacturers made more airplanes, trucks and home electronics to meet rising demand.”

You might remember that earlier this year that Obama imposed tightened fuel efficiency standards on automakers- and the rest of us too- at the cost of hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Many observers thought that the increased standard was a shot aimed directly at Ford, whose F series trucks are number one in vehicle sales in the domestic market. Truck and SUV sales out-pace cars sales in the US 7.7 million units to 4.7 million units, despite rising fuel costs and hysteria about carbon-warming-pseudo-science-grant awards.

Not coincidentally Ford did not take a bailout from the feds, and has thumped both of the union/government controlled rivals in profitability largely because they manufacture what consumers want, not what Obama wants.

Additionally, Obama proposed a tax on business jets earlier this year- has he ever really backed off that demand?- showing that he doesn’t understand what business jets are used for.

Business jets are used to increase productivity in a global world. The ability to get to and from somewhere across the globe quickly is often the difference between doing business and losing business. This is why businesses order jets. They help increase sales.

Imagine if either industry sector didn’t have the West Wing dragging them down.

If Obama had his way, the little job growth we are seeing would have been reduced even further through policies that Obama not only proposed but demanded.

DE-MAN-DED.

Ask yourself how many other jobs have been killed by our Demander-in-Chief? How much more debt has been incurred on his watch by his demand?

Forget about the $4 trillion in federal debt the administration racked up; forget about the fact they can’t get one vote for a budget; forget the fact that they can’t get a single vote for their jobs bill. And just remember this: Student loans hyped by Obama now outrank credit-card debt in the United States for the first time in our history. Students, before they even have the capacity to repay- if they ever will have the capacity to repay- now owe $850 billion in student loan debt versus total credit card debt of $828 billion according to USAToday.

Who told those students to borrow that money?

The same president who expanded food stamps; the same president who loaned money to state governments so they could delay the day of balanced budget reckoning; the same folks who guaranteed Solyndra. The same people who demanded that Obamacare be all about money, not healthcare.

This is the first presidency in history that has substituted a list of demands for a policy platform. The mistake that many made was thinking those demands were a Christmas shopping list, when in fact they were a demand for your indenture to the federal government.

Homofascism and the Dark Days Brewing for America

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Those of you who regularly tune in to this radio broadcast are not surprised when I say America has been taken over by communists, and along with the rest of the world, is spinning down into the hellish abyss of the Last Days foretold in the Bible. Satan’s global regime is smoothly working its sinister way into place, and the days ahead will grow ever darker.

I know there are many, many people who do not want to hear such words and do not believe what I say is true. There are many people who are content to keep their heads buried firmly in the sand while all hell breaks loose around them. I am sorry about that, and I can not help them. The fact is that here in America we have been in a collective sleep for many decades while the termites of hell have steadily and deeply gnawed into the delicate foundation of morality upon which our nation rested. That foundation may be too badly damaged to rebuild at this point.

Look at the events of late, and tell me how we are to recapture not just the foundation of limited power of our government, but the soul of our entire society. As you know, government corruption is only a symptom. Our American culture is diseased through and through. People have rejected God and embraced hedonism and whatever vice suits their fancy. Because the Lord has been thrust from our public square, from our schools, and in many cases even from our churches, we are seeing a proliferation of people who believe the lie and whose love is growing cold.

Look at the “occupationist” degenerates. If this organized and richly funded movement of the communist Left does anything, it clearly illustrates that America is a house deeply and irrevocably divided. As I have written before, America’s great unbridgeable divide leaves us ripe for destruction. For where there is division, there can be no unity, and where there is no unity, there is brokenness, and a broken house can not stand.

As a Christian, I know that…..

It’s no accident that Mitt Romney has done so well during this election cycle. He has excellent name recognition, he’s extremely well organized, he’s a great fundraiser, he’s become a polished debater, and he’s not gaffe prone. His business experience doesn’t hurt either, although it is worth noting that the only reason he’s able to brag that he’s not a “career politician” is because he lost to Ted Kennedy for the Senate and probably would have lost in 2008 had he run for governor of Massachusetts again.

Obama and Occupy Wall Street Are One

October 18, 2011 1 comment

President Obama acts as though he merely sympathizes with the Wall Street occupiers’ “broad-based frustration” about how America’s financial system works, but he’s doing a lot more than sympathizing. He’s fanning their flames.

Perhaps we should take a look at what, exactly, Obama is supporting and contrast it with the tea party movement he so roundly condemns.

In May 2010, when a White House dinner guest suggested to Obama that racism was a motivating force behind the tea party opposition to him, he raised nary a finger of objection and even affirmed that there was a racially biased “subterranean agenda” afoot in the anti-Obama movement. About that same time, the administration had lumped the tea party protesters into a group to be monitored as “domestic terrorists.”

Ever since this authentic, grass-roots movement spontaneously erupted throughout the nation, Obama and the leftist establishment have engaged in a systematic effort to demonize and discredit tea party protesters as extremist, racist and violent. Nancy Pelosi predicted the protests would lead to a climate of violence. In a recent interview, Obama portrayed tea party ideas as extreme positions that are rejected by “a vast majority of Americans.”

Those of us who identify with the movement and have attended some of the rallies know that in their false characterizations, Obama and his supporters are either lying or projecting. The protests have been remarkably peaceful, respectful and lawful. We are talking about Americana here, folks — people who believe in American ideals and who object to the government’s bankrupting us and destroying our liberties.

There has been no tea party-instigated violence at these rallies, and there has been no racism. Bearing false witness is egregious; doing so in exploitation of the race issue is worse.

Why do we believe that in defaming tea partyers, Obama is projecting? Simply because he is a community organizer at heart with an ends-justify-the-means ethic. He has been engaged in political street agitation his entire adult life, so it is natural for him to assume his political opponents would engage in the same tactics. But they don’t.

We see in the Occupy Wall Street protests — and some of the Service Employees International Union protests that have preceded it — the attitudes and atmosphere that prevail among leftist activists, whose aimless angst is directed at everyone but those most responsible for causing the damage they are decrying: their fellow leftists.

For a bird’s-eye view of the type of protest Obama and his fellow leftists pretended to fear in the tea party events, we need look no further than the Wall Street occupier dust-ups. Here hateful and violent rhetoric abound, just as the ugly specter of racism, particularly against Jews, is in full relief, all of which are as verifiable in the YouTube videos of these protests as their absence has been in the tea party videos.

On her blog, Michelle Malkin cites a Denver protester saying, “There’s a lot of stuff that needs to change, and it if doesn’t, violent revolution will come.”

He continues, “If you get the thirteen families that own the world, including George Bush and his administration, get them in front of the White House and hang them and shoot them, because they deserve that.” And if that doesn’t impress you, how about the protesters “calling for the beheading of ‘white kids,’ the ‘hanging’ of capitalists, and the murder of parents,” as reported by the blog “Pundit Press”?

This, my friends, is representative of the type of protest our community organizer in chief claims to be “monitoring” and nevertheless supports — the type that has led to more than 750 arrests throughout the country, compared with only one arrest in all the tea party protests.

Hindsight vindicates our early assurances that the tea party protests were not going to lead to violence because they were populated by people who honor the rule of law. Indeed, the tea partyers’ lawful behavior is an outworking of their substantive ideals, just as the occupiers’ lawlessness is reflective of their underlying anarchy. The former respect proper constitutional restraints; the latter more closely resemble a mob.

With Obama, it’s all smoke and mirrors; nothing is as he would have you believe. Every negative thing he says about the tea partyers is false, including that they don’t represent the sentiment of the American majority, which is bursting with outrage at Obama’s reckless agenda.

And whereas he pretended to fear violence from the tea partyers, he is actually trying to foment unrest among the occupiers. Their lifeblood is class warfare, and he is stoking its flames every single day.

With no ideas left on his plate that a long suffering American public is willing to further indulge, much less embrace, Obama is reduced to what he knows best: stirring public discontentment and unrest, hoping that this will somehow serve his political interests.

To Live or Die ‘On the Floor’

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sometimes sounds as if she has cast aside any attachment to reality. Responding to a bill co-authored by Rep. Joe Pitts, Pennsylvania Republican, that would prevent federal funds from going to pay for abortions under the slowly unraveling health care law critics call “Obamacare,” Pelosi said that if Republicans vote for the measure, “they will be voting to say that women can die on the floor and health care providers do not have to intervene.”

The Protect Life Act passed the House last week, but will likely die in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

There are more stirrings on this fundamental social issue. The November 8 ballot in Mississippi will include Initiative 26, known as the Personhood Amendment, that says: “The term ‘person’ or ‘persons’ shall include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning, or the functional equivalent thereof.”

According to Mississippi law, a minimum of 89,285 signatures were required to put the measure before the voters. As of April 2010, Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said his office had certified 106,325 signatures. That number has since grown to 130,000, which strongly suggests the measure will pass.

Perhaps an even greater counterattack on what former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop’s seminal documentary on the issue “Whatever Happened to the Human Race?” referred to as “the slaughter of the innocents” is a series of initiatives organized by a coalition of pro-life groups to put legislation on ballots in every state requiring an abortion-minded pregnant woman to see a sonogram image of her fetus prior to termination.

I have long favored this approach as a means to substantially reduce the million-plus abortions performed every year in the United States. It imposes no restrictions on abortion, but gives women information. The Chicago Tribune, reporting on the “Ultrasound Opportunity Act,” lobbied for in Springfield and the recent Catholic Conference in Illinois, quoted Conference spokesman Zach Wichmann as saying during a news conference at the Capitol: “We have studies and statistics that show something north of 80 percent of women (seeking abortions) who view ultrasounds of their babies decide against abortion.”

Mandating sonograms creates for “pro-choicers” an impossible intellectual, not to mention moral dilemma. If they oppose women receiving information, they are censors. Pro-lifers are aligning themselves with truth in labeling and truth in lending laws requiring that information be provided to women (and men) in order to help make decisions presumed to be in their best interests.

When pro-choicers stand in the way of women receiving information about such a critical decision, they place themselves where they say conservatives reside, in the land of intolerance and ignorance.

The response to this proposed legislation goes something like this: “You are insulting the intelligence of women who are smart enough to figure out these things on their own.”

“Fine,” I say, “then let’s remove labels from cans, bottles and packages and do away with paperwork at the bank when a woman applies for a loan. Let’s also rip Monroney stickers off vehicles at car dealerships because women should be smart enough to figure out the price, options and miles per gallon on their own.”

The reason pro-choicers don’t want women to see what their babies look like in the womb is because, for too many of them, abortion has become a sacrament. They embrace a right to kill while simultaneously denying the right to life. Showing a pregnant woman a picture of her baby in the womb, heart beating, can only enhance the possibility that the child will be given the opportunity to live.

Legislators who vote for these pro-life measures will put themselves on the side of freedom of information and force the pro-choicers to admit they favor a single choice: abortion.

Over many years of speaking to women who regret their abortions, the most common response has been, “If I had seen a picture of my baby, I would have made a different choice.”

This legislation empowers women. It is the best way to reduce the number of abortions while waiting for the courts to catch up and restore the “endowed right to life” that stood for centuries until the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Roe in 1973.

Glenn Interviews Dad of TX Girl Who Refused to Recite Mexican Pledge in Class

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

The Blaze’s exclusive story on the McAllen, TX high school that assigned students the task of memorizing and reciting the Mexican national anthem and pledge of allegiance grabbed headlines across the blogosphere on Monday. It naturally grabbed the attention of many parents. On Monday morning, then, Glenn interviewed the father behind the story, William Brinsdon. William’s daughter, Brenda, is the 15-year-old girl who refused to participate in the assignment and recorded it.

“So you’re in a Spanish class and you have to sing the National Anthem of Mexico,” Glenn began, explaining the controversy’s nuances. “You have a problem with that. All right. Then you’re asked to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. You have a problem with that. Well, yeah. I’m not pledging my allegiance to Mexico. But you‘re told not to worry about it because the words don’t ‑‑ they’re just words. They don’t mean anything. Well, then so now I‘m insulting Mexicans and Mexico because now I’m just devaluing the words of their pledge? Something’s not right, and it’s happening down in Texas. A girl came home, told her father about it in Spanish class. She didn’t do it. Dad’s on the phone with us now.”

William described how he was surprised when Brenda told him about the assignment, how he contacted several school officials and never got any promised calls back, and even revealed another disturbing case of some shocking claims.

“The indoctrination of this stuff is going on all the time down here,” he said. “And also last year she was told in her Spanish class that this land was stolen from Mexico, yada, yada, was told to be quiet through the class.”

That time, the Brinsdons didn’t stand up. This time they did.

“I’ll tell you I think that you are just one of very, very many that are going to start standing up and just not ‑‑ and just not sitting down anymore,” Glenn told the father. “But you’re going to feel awfully alone there for a while because I know. I hear it from people all the time: ‘Hey, thank goodness for ‑‑ thank goodness for you saying something,’ [And I ask], ‘Are you going to say something?’ [They respond] ‘No, I ‑‑ no, I got a big bank job. I can’t say anything. No, I can’t.’ Oh, okay, all right.”

According to William, the practice has since stopped. But in our original interview with Brenda, she said that while her class was no longer memorizing the pledge and anthem, students in other sections were.

In Campaign 2012, Web sites are the new real estate

October 18, 2011 1 comment

On Sept. 2, with Texas Gov. Rick Perry surging in the polls, someone purchased the Web addresses stickittorick.com, rickperrynot. com and buryperry.com.

That day, Mitt Romney’s campaign spent $2,851 buying the rights to various domain names at GoDaddy.com, the vendor that sold the Perry domains.

You might assume it was Romney’s team that scooped up the anti-Perry Web addresses with hopes of launching sites attacking Romney’s chief rival for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Not so, says the Romney campaign.

Such is the latest mystery of Campaign 2012.

The mystery is tough to unravel, because whoever bought the addresses hid his or her identity behind Domains by Proxy, a third-party company frequently used to shield the owners of Web addresses.

The same company was used to register mittromney.com. But a Romney spokesman said that the campaign does not own the Perry domains in question. The campaign would not say which domains it bought Sept. 2.

The recent transactions open a window onto the often secretive online underworld of presidential politics. Along with knocking on doors and airing television spots, campaigns try to blanket their messages — pro and con — across the Internet, which has a whole set of rules and tricks.

A Washington Post analysis of federal campaign spending reports shows that President Obama and Romney spent thousands of dollars this summer at GoDaddy.com.

Was President Obama Really Sitting in Front of an Assembly Line in this Video? (Green Screen?)

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

UPDATE: The White House has responded to our inquiry and they deny that this week’s weekly address video was shot in front of a green screen. They also explained that the production line that the president was posed in front of is always shut-down on Fridays, the day President Obama taped his message. It’s impossible to resist the temptation to speculate that this odd production schedule must suggest that the production line is designated for the Chevy Volt.

President Obama delivered his weekly address to the nation from Detroit, Michigan this week after visiting workers at a GM assembly plant. When the video hit at Breitbart.tv, our tip box suddenly became very active with people claiming that the President was actually sitting in front of a green screen and the background image was really a composite image of an assembly line.

In the image below, you can see a black outline around the president’s shoulder, and you can see the background image slightly distorted around the president’s ear.

Several experts in the field of video effects have given us their opinions on the matter. Some examples of their takes:

•It is a complete lie as this is so obviously green screen it ridiculous! I have been doing green screen for a very long time and although the Key on the green screen is very well done it shows the clean edges that a natural environment doesn’t have. Also, they have added an ambient sound of an empty warehouse and buzz of the transformers to make it more believable. •It’s a green screen, IMO. Notice the lines and cables behind him, they are totally still. Even if a factory is abandoned lines don’t just hang frozen like that. When I took it to full screen HD the most telling part for me were the areas around his head. •It definitely looks greenscreen to me. there’s a lot of artifacting going on around the edges, which makes me think it was keyed out. also, the spacial relationships look off…just doesn’t seem to fit…however, around his hair, I don’t see any traces of the keyed out background…this is usually a good place to see some artifacting from the keys.. that said, its tough to say definitively, but it does look greenscreen •I’m an expert with 20 years of experience in digital visual effects. I’ve been the visual effects supervisor on features and TV shows. I was also the editor-in-chief of two magazines, I’ve hosted dozens of instructional videos and I’ve taught hundreds of seminars around the world. The shot is obviously a composite and a ‘weatherman quality’ one. In it’s front of a still photo and President Obama doesn’t blend into the scene at all. •I just spoke to a friend of my from Skywalker Ranch. He has been doing Visual X for 2o years. He said “100 % Green Screen” and He LOVES Obama. He was also crushed by watching the video. •My brother – Emmy award winning VFX artist. – at first thought it was green screen but after looking at it thinks it was likely shot It’s likely that if the video was shot in front of a green screen, it was so the president wouldn’t disrupt the important work being done at the factory. If this is the case, it does bring up several interesting questions about the stage-management of the presidency. President Obama has been routinely placed in front of stirring backgrounds dating back to his candidacy. The Greek columns placed behind him for his nomination acceptance in Denver was a perfect example of his reliance on visual imagery to convey an important, unspoken message to his audience.

It’s true that the president was in Detroit. And it’s probably true that it would have been wrong for him to shut down production for the sake of taping his weekly address. That being said, why go to the great lengths they went to (assuming this was a green screen composite) just to convey the image of the president sitting on a factory floor? What does it say about the White House’s desire to manipulate reality to evoke an emotional response from voters?

Here is the full video. We’re interested in your opinion. We’ve asked the White House about it and as soon as they respond, we’ll let you know.

October 18, 2011 Leave a comment

Since the 2010-midterm elections there has been a quiet war going on within the Republican Party between the Establishment and the insurgent tea party movement. It is the outcome of this war, rather than whether a centrist third party candidate will emerge, that we believe is the crucial factor in determining whether or not our country will be able to rid itself of the destructive culture of “The Bigs.”

There is a great awakening of sorts that is sweeping the nation right now. Decades upon decades of Washington taking power from the people have been noticed. The collusion between the Washington Establishment and “The Bigs” is now apparent to average Americans. It was this great awakening that created the tea party movement and it was the tea party in 2010 that fired the first shots in the war.

The central question of this defining period of time in which we live: Will the Tea Party, with all its iconoclastic energy and goals, succeed in defeating the Establishment? For the country’s sake, let’s hope the answer is yes.

Washing machines can put your family’s health at risk-Low temp/mixed loads spreading dangerous bugs

The pasta stains might have disappeared — but are your freshly laundered clothes really clean? In our desire to be greener, as well as softer on clothes, many of us are lowering the temperature of our washes.

The maker of Ariel Gel is encouraging consumers to wash at 15c (60F) rather than 40c (104F) in order to halve energy costs. But experts are concerned our bid to save the planet — and money — will affect our health.

For while we associate laundry with cleanliness, some estimates say the average washing machine load contains 100 million E.coli at any one time.

A report by the International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene warns that low temperature washing might not be strong enough to kill disease-causing bugs.

Professor Sally Bloomfield, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, wants a campaign to educate consumers in laundry hygiene. ‘We need to launder clothing in a way that renders them not just visually clean, but hygienically clean — the two are not the same,’ she says.

Her concerns are backed by a German study on clothes contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus, linked to skin and urinary tract infections, as well as pneumonia. Researchers found the only way to eradicate the bacterium was with temperatures of 40c (104F) and above combined with a detergent containing bleach.

‘If you work with food and put your uniform in with the rest of the family’s dirty laundry, including dirty underwear, it could become infected with e.coli or salmonella — or whatever else is on those clothes,’ says Dr Lisa Ackerley, a consultant in environmental hygiene.

‘In winter, the norovirus (the vomiting bug) could easily spread through a family via the washing machine if you’re not using a high enough temperature wash.’…

U.N and Obama protecting climate change (dis)information from Freedom of Information Act.

CEI has learned of a UN plan recently put in place to hide official correspondence on non-governmental accounts, which correspondence a federal inspector general has already confirmed are subject to FOIA. This ‘cloud’ serves as a dead-drop of sorts for discussions by U.S. government employees over the next report being produced by the scandal-plagued IPCC, which is funded with millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars.

By Christopher Horner, CEI.org for WUWT

Although this is seedy and unlawful at any time, it also goes in the ‘bad timing’ file. Or it’s good timing, depending on one’s perspective.

Just as a brand new book further exposes the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)(which scam I dissected here, and in more disturbing detail here), and on the heels of the weekend surprise of a 2005 memo showing President Obama’s cooling/warming/population zealot of a ‘science czar’ John Holdren is the kind of guy Mitt Romney turns to to develop his ‘environmental’ policies, we’ve exposed the Obama administration and IPCC have cooperated to subvert U.S. transparency laws, run domestically out of Holdren’s White House office.

With this morning’s Freedom of Information Act request, the explaining they have to do must begin by providing the taxpayer certain records regarding — including but not limited to user name and password — for a backchannel ‘cloud’ established to hide IPCC deliberations from FOIA.

The IPCC, you will recall, is Al Gore’s co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. And the host over the years of numerous scandals involving fudged and twisted data, cut-and-pastes from student theses, popular magazine articles and green-group press releases and of course the infamous “hide the decline” in temperatures. This is not just one more scandal, however.

As our FOIA request details, the UN informed participants that it was motivated by embarrassing releases of earlier discussions (“ClimateGate” key among them), and to circumvent the problem that national government transparency laws were posing the group.

CEI reminds OSTP that this practice was described as “creat[ing] non-governmental accounts for official business”, “using the nongovernmental accounts specifically to avoid creating a record of the communications”, in a recent analogous situation involving lobbyist Jack Abramoff. CEI expects similar congressional and media outrage at this similar practice to evade the applicable record-keeping laws.

This effort has apparently been conducted with participation — thereby direct assistance and enabling — by the Obama White House which, shortly after taking office, seized for Holdren’s office the lead role on IPCC work from the Department of Commerce. The plan to secretly create a FOIA-free zone was then implemented.

This represents politically assisting the IPCC to enable UN, EU and U.S. bureaucrats and political appointees avoid official email channels for specific official work of high public interest, performed on official time and using government computers, away from the prying eyes of increasingly skeptical taxpayers.

CEI also reminds OSTP of a similar, ongoing effort by the administration to claim that records on U.S. government computers belong to the UN IPCC, refusing to produce them under FOIA. This practice was affirmed in a report by the Department of Commerce’s Office of Inspector General earlier this year.

As talks resume next month to forge a successor to the failed Kyoto Protocol, CEI looks forward to OSTP ceasing this unlawful activity, and providing prompt access to the requested records so the taxpayer can know what they, and the IPCC, are up to.

So this morning we requested all relevant records under FOIA, including all records sitting on that server, as they all were provided to U.S. government employees for official purposes. This was filed with OSTP run by controversial ‘science czar” and, we now know, former Mitt Romney ‘climate’ advisor John Holdren. The taxpayer deserves to know about this coordinated effort between OSTP and the IPCC to subvert U.S. law.

Possibly one Republican candidate will call in the next debate for ending US funding of the IPCC, now shown to be actively working (with the Obama White House) to subvert US law. Enough is enough is enough. Possibly Gov. Romney could defend Holdren and the IPCC.

In the meantime, we look for Rep. Henry Waxman’s outrage over Abramoff to prove it was also not political, and come down hard on the practice he so aggressively condemned and pursued, demanding preservation of records, threatening subpoenas, the whole works. With our request, that’s essentially what we’ve done, and we’d appreciate the company. You too, NPR.

Of course, it may not be of interest to the media because it only uncovers unlawful dealings to hide an effort impacting our entire economy, the premise for that “fundamental transformation” of America, with the sleazy lobbying operation being the UN. We’ll wait on OSTP’s response and hope for the best from the Hill and Republican candidates.
