Islamic law, or Shariah, already is being applied in the U.S. court system, according to an extensive new report..
A recent Center for Security Policy study called “Shariah Law and American State Courts: An Assessment of State Appellate Court Cases outlines dozens of cases in which the Islamic system of law has been applied.
Center spokesman David Reaboi said the Islamic strictures are being carried out mostly in cases in which foreigners are the principals.

“Shariah enters U.S. courts through the practice of comity to foreign law,” Reaboi explained. “This happens, for example, when a judge decides to allow the use of say, Pakistani or Saudi family law (Shariah) in a dispute between Pakistanis or Saudis.”
He said the study only scratches the surface of Shariah’s presence in the nation.

The State Department has spent $70,000 in taxpayer money to buy copies of Barack Obama’s book Dreams from My Father. One embassy in Indonesia spent more than $3,800 buying copies of Obama’s other book The Audacity of Hope. Again, all with taxpayer money — all while Obama profits from the purchases.
But hey, it most be common place to buy books written by presidents to hand out as gifts and put in libraries, right? Nope. A search by the Washington Times of the federal database found no examples of the State Department purchasing books by President Clinton or President Bush. And most copies of Obama’s books were purchased in the months following his inauguration.

Obama: Gaddafi Death Is Warning To Dictators
12:13am UK, Wednesday October 26, 2011 US President Barack Obama has described Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s death as a strong message to dictators around the world.
Speaking on NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ Mr Obama said the Libyan leader had missed his chance to bring democracy to his country.
“This is somebody who, for 40 years, has terrorised his country and supported terrorism,” he said.
“He had an opportunity during the Arab Spring to finally let loose of his grip on power and to peacefully transition into democracy.
“We gave him ample opportunity, and he wouldn’t do it,

Most Americans are unaware that about $700 billion a year of federal taxpayers’ money is handed out to nontaxpayers who are allegedly below the poverty line (in addition to $250 billion a year given out by the states). After Barack Obama became president, he increased federal welfare spending by a third because, as he promised during his campaign, he wants to “spread the wealth,” knowing that increasing welfare spending promotes dependence on government and votes for the Democrats.
This federal welfare apparatus consists of 69 means-tested programs: 12 programs providing food, 10 for housing assistance, 10 for social services, nine for educational assistance, eight programs giving cash, eight for vocational training, seven for medical assistance, three for energy and utility assistance and two for child care and child development.
What is now called the hidden welfare state (because so few Americans know about its enormity) is the fastest-growing component of government spending, and this does not include Social Security or Medicare payments. The total of these means-tested handouts is greater than what we are paying for our entire public school system and greater than what we spend on national defense.
We have just learned, for example, that 2.3 million illegal aliens who worked U.S. jobs in 2010 paid no federal income taxes but collected $4 billion from the U.S. Treasury in tax-credit money.

Rupert Murdoch must have imagined Steve Jobs would be a feisty dinner guest. Even still, the News Corp. chairman couldn’t have foreseen that, in one night at the mogul’s Carmel, California ranch, Jobs would call his tech people incompetent, get a guy fired, and say that Fox News was literally destroying the world.
Walter Isaacson’s new biography of the Apple co-founder says Jobs railed against the conservative news channel and tried to convince Murdoch to shut it down. His comments came at the 2010 iteration of News Corp.’s annual management retreat. Isaacson writes:
In return for speaking at the retreat, Jobs got Murdoch to hear him out on Fox News, which he believed was destructive, harmful to the nation, and a blot on Murdoch’s reputation. “You’re blowing it with Fox News,” Jobs told him over dinner. “The axis today is not liberal and conservative, the axis is conservative-destructive, and you’ve cast your lot with the destructive people. Fox has become a destructive force in our society. You can be better, and this is going to be your legacy if you’re not careful.” Jobs said he thought Murdoch did not really like how far Fox has gone. “Rupert’s a builder, not a tearer-downer,” he said…
Murdoch later said he was used to people like Jobs complaining about Fox. “He’s got sort of a left wing view on this,” he said. Jobs asked him to have his folks make a reel of Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck shows – he thought they were more destructive than Bill O’Reilly – and Murdoch agreed to do so. saacson’s book also confirms our 2010 item about how the Wall Street Journal’s Gordon McLeod got fired for crossing Jobs at the same Carmel retreat.

Texas governor Rick Perry, who is embarking on a hard push to recapture the buzz that surrounded him when he first entered the race for the Republican presidential nomination, is doubling down on the “birther” issue and also deeming his rival Mitt Romney a “fat cat.”
In an interview with John Harwood of CNBC and the New York Times on Tuesday, Perry was asked why he was keeping the “birther” issue alive. During an interview with Parade Magazine published Sunday, Perry suggested he doesn’t “have a definitive answer” to whether President Obama was born in the United States. Mr. Obama released his long-form birth certificate in April and there is no evidence to suggest he was not born in the United States, but that hasn’t stopped some prominent Republicans, including Donald Trump, from making the charge anyway.
Perry responded, “‘It’s a good issue to keep alive.”

Barack Obama Led #OccupyChicago – Circa 1988

Just twenty or so years ago, Barack Obama wouldn’t just have supported the Occupy protests.
He would have organized them.
From Stanley Kurtz’s essential Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism, pp. 117-8:
In fact, Obama personally helped plan one of UNO’s most confrontational actions of the eighties [in 1988]: a break-in meant to intimidate a coalition of local business and neighborhood leaders into dropping a landfill expansion deal.

I usually pride myself in that I knew, for the most part, who Obama was before he was President and that’s why I didn’t vote for him.
This however, I did not know.
