President Barack Obama has declared Washington, D.C. a major disaster zone, but it’s not because of the red ink flooding from his pen. It’s not due to the president’s collapsing approval ratings. And it has nothing to do with the mud-slides and verbal infernos that he has loosed on his political rivals.

Hardcore Democrat Political Strategists Are Trying To Find Way To Dump Obama.

American public interest is focused on the daily doings of the Republican candidates for the presidential nomination. But while we watch Romney, Cain, Perry, Gingrich and the also-rans fight it out over supposed sexual harassment scandals with an extra helping of fried chicken at a dozen nightly Iowa dinners, the real fight in going on in Washington.

Behind the scenes, Barack Obama is fighting for his political life. His opponents are not Republicans, but his fellow Democrats…. and right now, Obama is losing the battle for 2012.

(By the way, being a retired network newsie gives me the time to dig into the really meaningful stories such as this, not just worry about getting the daily hogwash on the air before deadline.

Does Ohio hold the key to Obama’s 2012 hopes?

Washington Post ^ | 11-8-11 | Dan Balz

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 9:08:18 PM by Driftwood1

President Obama’s political advisers employed a creative and ultimately successful strategy on their way to victory in 2008. They enlarged the electoral map, pouring resources into states Democrats had lost for decades in an effort to provide multiple paths to the 270 electoral votes needed to win. The strategy was designed, in part, to avoid having the election decided in Ohio or Florida.

A provocative new analysis by Brookings Institution scholar William Galston argues that, in 2012, Obama would be wiser to focus on traditional heartland battlegrounds such as Ohio rather than on some of the peripheral states that he put into his column in 2008 or others that his campaign is considering. To do otherwise, Galston says, “could turn out to be a mistake of epic proportions.”

…Apparently, those evil Twin Sisters, Power and Greed, have succeeded in seducing Republicans to join the Democrats’ conspiracy on a scale few of us ever thought would be possible.

And where Power and Greed failed, Fear stepped in. Not one single member of Congress or the Supreme Court can claim they did not know of Barack Obama’s ineligibility to hold office.

We told them. Over and over again. By phone, email, snail mail, in person at town hall meetings. We cited Article II, Section I, Clause 5 until we could recite it in our sleep.

We contacted our local sheriffs, the FBI, district attorneys, clerks of the court, held Citizen Grand Juries, wrote letters to the Editor, tried to educate our friends and families, sued at every court level, and absolutely besieged Republican congressmen. All of our efforts were to no avail.

Seems like deja vu all over again when Barack Obama is running for office. He ran for the Senate against Jack Ryan until the liberal media was able to unseal a divorce settlement revealing sexual issues that forced Ryan from the race.

Then came Alan Keyes and the media rushed to expose his lesbian daughter, which helped give us senator Obama, and the rest is history.

Now comes conservative Herman Cain running strongly against Obama and the liberal media is at it again, releasing a 10-year-old sealed settlement, designed to help Obama win re-election.

Seldom does an unsourced, sealed settlement warrant this type of coverage, unless you are running against Obama and dealing with a biased news media.

…In his first race for office, seeking a state Senate …Obama effectively used election rules to eliminate his Democratic competition.

As a community organizer, he had helped register thousands of voters. But when it came time to run for office, he employed Chicago rules to invalidate the voting petition signatures of three of his challengers.

The move denied each of them, including incumbent Alice Palmer, a longtime Chicago activist, a place on the ballot. It cleared the way for Obama to run unopposed…

“That was Chicago politics,” said John Kass…Knock out your opposition, challenge their petitions, destroy your enemy, right? It is how Barack Obama destroyed his enemies back in 1996…in that first race, he made sure voters had just one choice.”

High Bank Fees Give Wal-Mart a Money Aisle

High Bank Fees Give Wal-Mart a Money Aisle

NY Times1 ^ | November 7th 2011 | ANDREW MARTIN and STEPHANIE CLIFFORD

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 7:12:30 PM by Cardhu

DICKSON CITY, Pa. — Americans say they are fed up with banks. They are protesting on Wall Street and raising a ruckus over outsize fees. Now there is a surprising beneficiary: Wal-Mart.

Geoffrey Cardone, a 26-year-old factory worker, said he dumped his bank account because he felt that he was being nickeled and dimed by fees. His new payday ritual includes a trip to the Wal-Mart here in northeastern Pennsylvania.

“It’s cheaper,” said Mr. Cardone, who was charged a flat fee of $3 to cash his paycheck. Many check-cashing stores keep a percentage of the check, which tends to be higher.

The Wal-Mart here has a clerk in a brightly painted Money Center near the entrance, like more than 1,000 other Wal-Marts across the country. Customers can cash work and government checks, pay bills, wire money overseas or load money on to a prepaid debit card.

At most Wal-Marts without dedicated Money Centers, the financial services are available at the customer service desks or kiosks.

Four years ago, Wal-Mart abandoned its plans to obtain a long-sought federal bank charter amid opposition from the banking industry and lawmakers, who feared the huge retailer would drive small bankers out of business and potentially conflate its banking and retail operations. Ever since, Wal-Mart has been quietly building up à la carte financial services, becoming a force among the unbanked and “unhappily banked,” as one Wal-Mart executive put it.

Even before the recent outcry against banks, the services had become popular with cash-poor customers, many of whom never had a bank account and found the services more affordable than traditional check-cashing operations. Now newcomers to the ranks of the banking disaffected are helping to swell the numbers, Wal-Mart officials said.

OBAMA’S ARMY…

November 8, 2011 1 comment

While running for the presidency, Barack Obama made a mysterious and bizarre campaign promise.

He said that as president he would create “a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the U.S. military, to advance his “objectives” for America.

The astonishing announcement, made July 2, 2008, to an audience in Colorado Springs, was ignored by virtually the entire media – except WND. Nobody bothered to ask Obama specifically what he meant, or how he could possibly assemble and fund such a massive civilian army, or why – and he never spoke of it again.

Fast-forward to late 2011.

“President Obama, this is your army! We are ready to march! Let’s take these son-of-a-b*tches out …!”

That was Teamsters union president James Hoffa, addressing a large Labor Day rally at which Obama also spoke, proclaiming brazenly what leftist radicals have long understood: America’s largest labor unions – especially the huge government employee unions like the 3-million-member National Education Association and 2-million-member Service Employees International Union – provide battalions of ground troops in the ongoing war to “fundamentally transform” America into a socialist utopia.

“But wait,” you might ask. “I know most unions lean left, some engage in street tactics and their dues strongly support Democrats.

But what about Obama’s statement that his civilian army would be ‘well-funded’ by the government?”

Jailed Border Agent Diaz’s Family Ordered to Pay Fine

November 8, 2011 3 comments

The U.S. government is demanding almost $7,000 from the family of jailed Border Patrol agent Jesus “Chito” Diaz (left), who was prosecuted in what critics called an outrageous miscarriage of justice aimed at placating Mexican officials. But advocates for the family are still fighting back.

Diaz was accused of improperly lifting the handcuffs of an illegal alien caught smuggling drugs across the border, and then lying about it to investigators. The Mexican government filed an official complaint almost immediately.

After being cleared by two investigations, the Obama administration decided to prosecute Diaz anyway.

Following a mistrial, he was convicted and sentenced to two years in federal prison and a fine. Of course, he also lost his job, leaving his wife and six children in a tough situation.

Obama Couldn’t Wait: His New Christmas Tree Tax

Heritage ^ | 11-8-11 | David S. Addington

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 7:34:44 PM by Driftwood1

President Obama’s Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees—the Christmas Tree Tax—to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.

In the Federal Register of November 8, 2011, Acting Administrator of Agricultural Marketing David R. Shipman announced that the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint a Christmas Tree Promotion Board.

The purpose of the Board is to run a “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expend existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry” (7 CFR 1214.46(n)). And the program of “information” is to include efforts to “enhance the image of Christmas trees and the Christmas tree industry in the United States” (7 CFR 1214.10).

To pay for the new Federal Christmas tree image improvement and marketing program, the Department of Agriculture imposed a 15-cent fee on all sales of fresh Christmas trees by sellers of more than 500 trees per year (7 CFR 1214.52).

And, of course, the Christmas tree sellers are free to pass along the 15-cent Federal fee to consumers who buy their Christmas trees.

OWS Rushing USA to Point of No Return

We are sitting in the eye of a hurricane. The media jackals, like a tornado, are destroying everything and everyone in their path who is a conservative and not a subscriber to European socialism and one world government.

Alphabet soup pundits dedicate hundreds of stories and airtime to Occupy Wall Street unemployable collegiate malcontents, filthy vagrants, druggies, and communist agitators who are getting more and more violent.

Occupiers with trust funds claim to be the 99 percent of the people who want the spoils of the one percent, the rich. They complain that the homeless are stealing their electronic gadgets and food.

Apparently, “stealing is a problem when it happens to you, ‘social justice’ when it happens to someone else.” Lazy agitators abhor capitalism and banks, yet are hypocritically eager to deposit donated funds in the bank.

Goethe said, “Nothing is more terrible than to see ignorance in action.” And there is plenty of ignorance walking the streets and parks of Occupy Wall Street.

One outraged group was flooded by job application flyers falling from offices above the street. Here is a novel idea, instead of complaining for weeks and laying in your own filth, get a job created by the government control you so crave.

Although the public alert mechanism is decades old and often tested and used at the local level, it has never before been tested on a nationwide scale.

This first-ever test will occur at 2:00pm EST on Wednesday, November 9 and will occur simultaneously across the U.S. and its territories, lasting up to three-and-a-half-minutes.

But this YouTube clip from a recent episode of Stern’s Sirius/XM radio show is fun to listen to for another reason: It starts with a soundbite of Cain himself singing a parody of John Lennon’sImagine.” Cain’s version envisions a world without pizza.

“I love my country, not my government,” Ventura remarked in response to reports that had characterized him as unpatriotic.

As the saga of the latest Herman Cain sexual assault accusations continues, a story gaining steam Tuesday morning deals with the allegations that the accuser, Sharon Bialek, had an interesting embrace with Herman Cain at a Tea Party convention last month. That accusation isn’t coming from just any random observer, however. It‘s coming from a major radio host at Chicago’s WIND-RADIO. And according to her, the encounter may have been Bialek confronting Cain about the alleged assault.

Here’s how the Chicago Sun Times covers the news:

They hugged each other backstage in a full embrace like old friends.

She grabbed his arm and whispered in his left ear.

She kept talking as he bent to listen, and he kept saying “Uh, huh. Uh, huh.”

…….CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR: We’ll talk a little bit about what you’re talking about– division in a moment. But first, you concede that your flat tax would bring in less revenue than the current tax code. And you’ve basically said that you’re proposing that some way to s– you know, to bridge that gap would be to do a lot of budget cuts.

Given the fact that new figures are coming out practically daily on the level of poverty in this country is something like 16 percent live in extreme poverty. The disparity of income, how will you ensure, with all these cuts, that those who need the help the most, those who need the government programs the most will not be left out in the cold?

RICK PERRY: Well, safety nets are important. But the best– safety net for an American is have access to a job. And again, that goes right back to our focus upon making sure that we put policies in place. Tax policy, regulatory policy in particular, that entices, if you will, gives incentives, to the job creators to create jobs.

I don’t think there’s anyone, or I haven’t met many people that run up to me and say, “Gee, we want a government to take care of us from cradle to the grave.” Most people really understand government is in the way, both tax wise and regulatory wise from the standpoint of how we get this country back workin’ again. And people want the dignity to be able to take care of their family with a job. And that’s what we’re focused on. ………

IT’S COME TO THIS: Could Sarah Palin Could Get Back In The Race?

November 8, 2011 Leave a comment

Things are so bad for the GOP and/or Republicans are so turned off by the idea that Mitt Romney is their only viable option rumors have once again surfaced that Sarah Palin could get back in the race.

Yes.

NYT numbers expert Nate Silver thinks there’s a slim chance she could pull it off.

One major constraint is that the filing deadline has already passed in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. So a candidate who entered now could not get her name on the ballot in those states, although some states, like New Hampshire, allow for write-in votes.

However, the candidate could participate in caucuses, including the Jan. 3 caucus in Iowa and the February caucuses in Maine, Nevada, Colorado and Minnesota, which do not have rigid filing deadlines.

She would also potentially be able to participate in the primaries in Arizona and Michigan on Feb. 28, which are the next primaries following a four-week gap after Florida….

Herman Cain: Accuser Sharon Bialek is a Liar

Herman Cain today said that Sharon Bialek, the first woman to publicly accuse the GOP presidential candidate of sexual harassment, is a liar and that he never acted inappropriately with her.

“I have had nothing but the utmost respect for any and all women as well as those who have worked under my leadership,” Cain told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl in the ABC News/Yahoo Newsmakers interview. “I can categorically say I have never acted inappropriately with anyone, period. And as far as these latest charges… I reject all of those.”

Cain said the charges are “baseless” and “bogus” and that the accusations are an attempt from his opponents to derail his candidacy.

“When I first saw her [Bialek]… I didn’t even recognize her,” Cain said.

This is Cain’s only media appearance today before his scheduled press conference later, where he will respond to new allegations of sexual harassment.

Is Putative President Barack Hussein Obama II Really Bari Shabazz, Fugitive from Justice?

Obama release Your Records ^ | November 7, 2011 | Mario Apuzzo, Esq.

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 2:57:50 PM by 2ndDivisionVet

On November 2, 2011, I published an article entitled and asking the question, “Is Barack Hussein Obama II Really Bâri′ M. Shabazz, Born October 28, 1959 in New York City? ”, accessed at here. The basis of the question that I asked came from a November 2, 2011 breaking story published by Martha Trowbridge entitled, “Bâri′, Barry, Barack, accessed at here. In her article, Ms. Trowbridge’s contends that putative President Barack Hussein Obama II’s real name is Bâri′ M. Shabazz and that his date of birth is October 28, 1959, and his social security number is 084-54-5926. She says he was born in New York City. She adds that he was born with the name Bâri′ M. Shabazz. She also says that to be able to enter the political world, Bâri′ M. Shabazz had to change his birth identity and take on a new one which became Barack Hussein Obama II.

Ms. Trowbridge says: “We know this: Bâri′ M. Shabazz was assigned social security number 084-54-5926, issued in New York, in 1974.”

Ms. Trowbridge has found that the Social Security Death Index shows: “SHABAZZ, B M 28 Oct 1959 Aug 1994 (V) 34 (PE) (none specified) New York 084-54-5926.” From this, one would think that Bâri′ died in August 1994. But no, Ms. Trowbridge informs that only his identity was made “dead.” The real person continued to live and that person became “Barack Hussein Obama II.” Note how she explains that the “death” of Bâri′ was only reported by someone (“V” or “Verified”) and that the person did not present any valid death certificate (“P” or “Proof).

Foreign Policy Experts Agree With Ron Paul’s Foreign Policy

Ron Paul speaking at the 2010 CPAC.

Ron Paul is often chided by his Republican opponents for his extreme views on American foreign policy. His calls for ending all foreign wars and shutting hundreds of military bases across the globe have drawn howls from his GOP rivals, who have labeled the moves irresponsible and naïve.

His campaign pledge of cutting all foreign aid and withdrawing U.S. participation in the World Trade Organization and the United Nations has been at odds with even the most conservative members of his own party.

Yet as voting day in Iowa and New Hampshire draws near, Paul, the Congressman from Texas, is finding support for his non-interventionist positions from a growing number of foreign policy experts.

“He’s attacking our rich lazy friends, why is that not more popular,” said Harvey Sapolsky, emeritus professor of public policy and organization at MIT. He backs Paul’s calls for reducing America’s military budget, arguing that much of it is used to defend wealthy nations’ security.

A huge, Cold War-era global presence — with hundreds of overseas military bases — isn’t necessary, now that the Soviet threat is over and the collapse of communism, Sapolsky said.

Is there any possible way Jesse Ventura could win the Presidency?

November 8, 2011 Leave a comment

Can he appeal to enough Americans to get on the map?

Yes, undoubtedly. No one expected him to win the governorship in Minnesota, and yet he did. He didn’t win big, but he did beat out some better known candidates. Ventura has exceptional skills in reaching people and with our disgruntled populace, he’s sure to strike a chord with a measurable group of people.

Can he raise enough money to be a credible contender against the hundreds of millions of dollars that’ll be spent by his competitors?

This is where his chances drop precipitously. This next election may well cost the GOP and the Dems a billion dollars each. It’s highly unlikely Ventura could raise even a tenth of that.

He did win in Minnesota with a fraction of the money of his then competitors, but playing in Duluth and Eden Prairie isn’t exactly like playing on Time Square. It’s far from clear that Ventura could carry even a single cranky red state, and he might upset the fragile sensibilities of blue staters.

Herman Cain claims sexual harassment accusations threatening to derail his presidential campaign are a smear campaign. But friends and family of one accuser say she is a principled and dedicated professional who was only trying to right a wrong no woman should suffer in the workplace.

Karen Kraushaar, a 55-year-old former journalist and seasoned government spokeswoman who served on the front lines of the Elian Gonzalez custody battle, is a competitive equestrian and lover of golden retrievers. She has been married for more than two decades.

“She wouldn’t be the type to make false allegations,” brother-in-law Ned Kraushaar, a Georgia software consultant, told The Daily. “This happened [more than] 10 years ago. It’s not like she wanted to try and hurt the Republican Party.”

Occupy DC Protesters assaulted conservatives as they exited an Americans For Prosperity “Tribute to Ronald Reagan” dinner.

This elderly woman, 78 years old, rode 11 hrs on a bus from Detroit to attend the dinner. After the attack she was taken to hospital with multiple injuries, a bloody nose which developed after the fall, and a large knot on her head. After x-rays and a CAT scan, she was released the following morning with cuts and large bruises.

Arrested Occupy Protesters Told By Police: Penal Code Outstrips US Constitution

November 8, 2011 Leave a comment

Protesters at a public park in Fresno were harassed and arrested by police for a third consecutive evening Monday as officers told them that local penal code allowed them to ignore First Amendment rights and break up protests.

The protest group, calling itself “Occupy Fresno”, has refused to move out of the park and onto a sidewalk, asserting that it is their constitutional right to remain where they are.

Over the weekend, more than 20 of the protesters were arrested and led away by police citing a county ordinance that defines the protesters as trespassers.

Officers in riot gear approached the remaining protesters Monday night, once again asking them to comply with police orders to leave or face arrest.

Fresno County Sheriffs Lt. Andriatti and Officer Neil Dadian were filmed informing protesters that local penal code outstrips the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.

Homeland Security Deputy invokes Orwell’s 1984

Details surrounding the federally funded street lights that double as omnipresent surveillance devices aren’t getting any less creepy. A Deputy Homeland Security Director told FOX Charlotte, “you would never know” if Big Sis was watching, a quote that wouldn’t look out of place in George Orwell’s 1984.

And we’re not just saying that for dramatic effect – the idea that you could never be certain whether or not Big Brother was watching and the feeling of constantly under suspicion is a dominant theme in the 1949 dystopian novel that depicted a totalitarian state under which the population is kept under constant government surveillance.

“If the city installed street lights with surveillance abilities… you would never know,” Charlotte’s Deputy Homeland Security chief was quoted as saying.

Just like the inhabitants of Oceania had telescreens that watched their every movement, recorded their conversations and displayed propaganda messages, Americans are set to be treated the same using ‘smart’ street lights now being installed in major cities across the country.

National Journal picks up on a truly odd moment from today’s Morning Joe in more ways than one. Joe Scarborough tells Bill Clinton that he will be inundated with e-mail and calls after the end of their segment asking why Bill Clinton can’t run for a third term in office, and then blames Republicans for “not wanting another FDR” after his fourth term ended in less than three months due to his death. “Shouldn’t Americans have that choice?” Scarborough asks Clinton, who seems pleased with the notion:

Despite bipartisan promises to cut spending after the 2010 elections, Washington politicians are still voting to make the government even bigger and more expensive than ever.

Don’t believe me?

Even though the federal government is nearly $15 trillion in debt, it’s spending at record-high levels. Federal spending has gone up 5 percent in the first nine months of this year alone.

Just last week, Democrats and Republicans in the Senate passed three new spending bills to increase 2012 funding above 2011 funding levels. The bills will increase spending for the Department of Agriculture by $6.4 billion; for the Departments of Transportation and Housing and Urban Development by more than $2 billion; and for the Commerce, Justice, and State departments by more than $694 million.

The Cold Civil War (America has an inter-generational struggle, the War of the Baby Boomers)
National Review ^ | 11/08/2011 | David Kahane

Despite all the evidence of the past several decades, you still have not grasped one simple fact: that, just about a century after the last one ended, we engaged in a great civil war, one that will determine the kind of country we and our descendants shall henceforth live in for at least the next hundred years — and, one hopes, a thousand. Since there hasn’t been any shooting, so far, some call the struggle we are now involved in the “culture wars,” but I have another, better name for it: the Cold Civil War

In many ways, this new civil war is really an inter-generational struggle, the War of the Baby Boomers. America’s largest generation, the famous “pig in the python,” has affected everything it’s touched, from the schools of the 1950s (not enough of them) through the colleges of the 1960s (changed, changed utterly), through the political movements of the 1970s and ’80s (revolution and counter-revolution), and into the present, where the war is still being waged.

Your side admired strength, resolve. and purposefulness; we were stuck with weakness and indecision. You saw the world as something to be conquered; we saw the world as a hostile force needing to be appeased. You dealt with life head-on, never complaining and never explaining; we ran home and told our mommies. Think of us as Cain to your Abel, hating you from practically the moment we were born, hating you for your excellence and your unabashed pursuit thereof while we were the ugly stepchildren. Well, Cinderfella — how do you like us now?

Today, we are cock of the walk, king of the world, all our vices are made virtues, and all us sinners, saints. While you were out trying to make your way in the world, earning a living, being responsible, raising a family, paying your taxes, we infiltrated your every institution: the schools, the law, Hollywood, the culture, the government. We learned to train your own weapons upon you and, while you weren’t looking, we shot you in the back with them.

Todd based his bold prediction on the theory that there is a hunger for populist candidates, and that populism is not the way Obama or Romney [his presumed Republican candidate] “roll.”

Of the 55-million families with mortgages, 10.4-million of them “are sliding toward failure and foreclosure”—a tragedy that will depress the U.S. housing market for years to come, a result of too many houses for sale and too few buyers.

Bill Clinton: Let presidents serve three terms

By: Tim Mak November 8, 2011 08:48 AM EST

Three times could be a charm – but not for him.

Former president Bill Clinton said Tuesday that presidents should be able to run for a third term so long as they take off some time after their second term.

“I’ve always though that should be the rule,” he said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “I think as a practical matter, you couldn’t apply this to anyone who has already served, but going forward I personally believe that should be the rule.”

Clinton made the remark in the context of a question posed by Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough, who said that many wished that Clinton could run again.

“Shouldn’t a president be able to take two terms, take time off and run again? Shouldn’t Americans have that choice?” asked Scarborough. He cited former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who led his country during World War II and then again in the 1950s, as an example.

Though her lawyer Gloria Allred painted a respectable and prestigious education and employment history for Sharon Bialek, 50, just a day later it has been revealed that she has not held a job for more than two years and has filed for bankruptcy twice.

2. Filed for bankruptcy twice.

3. Accused former boyfriend of harassing her to pay a loan

The Coming Cain Mutiny – And Other Thoughts

Jonah Goldberg

November 8, 2011

I don’t know whether the charges against Herman Cain are true. I think the latest accuser’s story is fishy, but that doesn’t mean it’s entirely inaccurate either. I never gave Cain much more than a 5-10% chance of winning the nomination in the first place. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that I think these allegations pretty much sink him. I don’t think that’s necessarily right or fair — that would depend on the veracity of the charges. Maybe his press conference today will be a forensic tour de force and put all doubts to bed, but I doubt it.

I think that this scandal is artificially propping up his support in the polls because a lot of conservative-minded people who don’t like the media, don’t like liberals, don’t like political correctness and don’t like the other GOP contenders feel like Cain’s getting a raw deal.

Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) is one of the most hated companies in America — and for good reason. BAC stock is down 50% this year and over 85% from its 2008 peak. Bank of America plans on instating a $5-per-month debit-card fee at the beginning of next year. It took billions in bailout money while regular Americans continue to face stagnant wages, runaway inflation and no relief from the brutal realities of both the housing market and job market.

But apparently Bank of America CEO Bryan Moynihan thinks we are all being a bit too hard on him and his cronies.

Edwin Vieira Jr. — The Road Not Taken

November 8, 2011 1 comment

…On every occasion of political and economic crisis but one in her history, America has come to the point where “two monetary roads diverged in a yellow wood”—and has taken the wrong road.

That unique occasion was the ratification of the Constitution in 1788. For—

• The Constitution adopted a scientific monetary unit—the “dollar”, a coin containing 371.25 grains of pure silver; and a companion coinage, denominated “eagles”, containing gold valued at the free-market exchange rate with silver.

• The Constitution withheld from the General Government the power to “emit bills”—which was the term of art at that time for paper currency. Any kind of “bills”, whether redeemable or irredeemable in precious metals; or whether or not designated “legal tender”.

• The Constitution prohibited the States from “emit[ing] Bills”. Again, any and every kind of “Bills”. And,

• The Constitution prohibited the States from “mak[ing] any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts”—thereby reserving to the States the power to “make gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts”.

This was (and remains) a system legally just, politically astute, economically sound, and socially responsible, because it tends especially to benefit the common man, who typically holds much of his real wealth in money or the simplest claims payable in money (such as bank deposits).

Yet every other time since 1788, America has stumbled down the wrong monetary road. Not, however, “the road less traveled by”—for that would have been the road laid out according to constitutional principles—but instead “the road most traveled by”, the road that essentially every modern nation has taken.

The road which has “diverged” from monetary units actually composed of silver and gold, honestly weighed. The road which has settled instead upon monetary units consisting of debt and administered through fraud:

The first false step, to redeemable paper currency; then to redeemable paper currency declared to be legal tender; then to irredeemable paper currency declared to be legal tender; and even, as from 1933 to 1974, to the prohibition of the private ownership of gold altogether.

So what would cause a man of such exceptional talent and experience, with the ability to hire the most capable strategists in the business, to self-destruct so quickly in his quest for the presidency of the United States? How could such a man not know how to conduct himself in a debate with other Republicans?

His performance so far brings to mind the sort of personal attacks that are typical of what one might expect from a Democratic candidate, not from a Republican. While Republicans may differ sharply on the issues, it is rare for them to make cheap personal attacks on their opponents… Republican or Democrat. It is one of the principal characteristics that distinguish Republicans from liberals and Democrats.

Understanding that Perry was a lifelong registered Democrat until 1989, we might be excused for concluding that, while it may be possible to take the man out of the Democrat Party, it may not be possible to take the Democrat out of the man.

A third party candidate might have a much better shot at winning the 2012 presidential election than most citizens believe, experts in campaign media and communications said at the Institute of Politics on Monday.

The speakers identified Americans’ growing discontent with Washington partisanship and gridlock in Congress as factors that make a third party ticket more viable.

Although he lacks Obama’s passion, Romney more than makes up for it by matching Obama’s policy positions guaranteeing a continuation of the status quo and crony capitalism.

It is time to break the cycle of corruption being promoted by Obama and his Republican protectors.

If there remains any possibility for national salvation and an American Renaissance, the Republican Party needs to be dismantled and rebuilt based on Constitutional conservatism.

Without that, it is better not to vote than vote for a Republican who represents nothing more than Obama light.

It is better to let Obama win and allow the present political system to collapse than to aid the cancer of corruption and destroy any chance of preserving a government of the people, for the people and by the people.

It is now the responsibility of ordinary Americans to stop Obama and his Republican facilitators and restore the Constitution and the vision of the Founding Fathers.

Sheraton Hotels Implement Chinese style Internet Censorship, Block Alternative News Websites censorship

Activist Post
November 8, 2011

In the wake of the Department of Homeland Security announcing its propaganda partnership with hotels to recruit citizen spies, a loyal reader alerted us that the Sheraton Ferncroft Hotel in Danvers, Massachusetts is blocking access to alternative news websites using a content filter service called IBAHN. The firsthand account of which websites were blocked is as follows:

FYI, this past weekend I attempted to search forInfoWarsActivistPostFederalJack using public access computers in the lobby of a hotel run by Sheraton. All three websites were blocked from allowing the public to read or view the websites.

Apparently this Chinese-style Internet censorship is not new for Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.  In 2006, Sheraton Atlanta Hotel proudly announced a deal to use SonicWALL content filtering service. They were employed by Sheraton to provide “an additional layer of security to protect against today’s most damaging Internet threats.”

More specifically, they “filter inappropriate or unproductive Websites, block .exe attachment files, instant messaging applications and streaming media, and enable a new level of visibility into Internet usage patterns and number and type of sites blocked.”

In 2008, writer and activist Robyn Ochs wasshocked to discover that she couldn’t accessher own website in Sheraton’s Starwood lobby.  The hotel, which uses SiteCoach to censor their web content, told her:

The company that installs and maintains the systems have promoted these systems to a kid friendly, family friendly environment. I am sure you can understand that there are several sites on the internet that are viewed as offensive by the general public and for that reason, programs have been developed to ensure that the majority of viewers are met with non-offensive material.

Barack Obama’s Israel-bashing is embarrassment for leader of the free world [O as sleazy as French]

The White House likes to portray President Obama as a staunch supporter of Israel, and is always quick to defend him against the charge that he has weakened US support for America’s closest ally in the Middle East. The reality, however, is very different from the Pennsylvania Avenue spin. As I’ve noted in previous pieces, the Obama administration has a striking track record of insulting Israel, and the relationship between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his US counterpart has been unremittingly tense. And after his latest bout of foreign folly, the image of Barack Obama as an Israel-basher will be even further entrenched.

Thanks to an article by French news site Arrêt sur Images, Obama’s distinctly unflattering impression of Israel’s leader is plain for all to see. According to the French piece, reported here by Israeli media outlet Ynetnews, the French and US presidents both sneered at Mr. Netanyahu in a private meeting at the G-20, while their microphones were still on, audible to journalists:

The conversation then drifted to Netanyahu, at which time Sarkozy declared: “I cannot stand him. He is a liar.” According to the report, Obama replied: “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!”

….snip….

You expect this kind of double talk from the Elysée Palace. Witness the brutal knifing in the back of the United States by Jacques Chirac’s administration over the Iraq War as a prime example. But you expect a far higher standard from the US president when he is describing the leader of a close American partner. It demonstrates not only a lack of judgment, but also a disregard for traditional American alliances, something we have seen on numerous occasions with his administration’s treatment of Great Britain.

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 8:02:03 AM by SJackson

On November 2, the Obama administration sharply criticized Israel’s decision to accelerate construction of Israeli housing in various communities in and around Jerusalem and elsewhere in the West Bank. The administration also had some harsh words about Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmud Abbas’ renewal of efforts to wrest recognition for his “Palestinian State” from the UN Security Council, in which endeavor he may have made some progress with the recent UNESCO vote to accept “Palestine” as a member.

It is important to recall that Mr. Abbas’ maneuvers in the UN are actually part of the PA’s political and propaganda war against Israel, which, as he told the world back in May, will not stop once the UN recognizes the state of “Palestine,” but rather will be ratcheted up for a more effective assault against Israel. Moreover, the apartments that PM Netanyahu plans to build are not on Palestinian land, but are suburbs or even neighborhoods of Jerusalem, none of which are on the agenda for land swaps in a peace agreement…..

“On Wednesday, November 9th at 2 PM Eastern, the Obama Administration will seize control over all radio and TV broadcast communications” ~ Obama’s Latest Scheme and Our Choice Between Freedom and Tyranny by Scott Lazarowitz

November 8, 2011 Leave a comment

On Wednesday, November 9th at 2 PM Eastern, the Obama Administration will seize control over all radio and TV broadcast communications, to conduct a “test” of the Emergency Broadcast System. For the first time, however, there will be nothing any individual station can do to prevent it, and, unlike past tests which lasted for only roughly 30 seconds, this unusual test will last approximately 3½ minutes.

But, even though the government is supposed to announce that it is “only a test,” and, given that it is to occur during the middle of a weekday, such a “test” still has potential to cause panic.

Could the Obama Administration be subtly planning to incite anxiety and panic amongst the population? The evidence includes Obama flunkies such as ACORN having been intentionally inciting agitation at Wall Street protests, and Obama himself having been accused of incitement.

It is therefore valid to suggest that the Administration is up to no good, such as testing a plan for something illicit, such as martial law. I have addressed possible Obama martial law here…..

The Herman Cain Sex Scandal Is Going To Reveal If Character Still Matters To The Republican Party

November 8, 2011 1 comment

Does character still matter to the Republican Party? We are about to find out. Today, a woman named Sharon Bialek fundamentally altered the race for the Republican nomination in 2012.

The Herman Cain sex scandal is not going away, and either Herman Cain is lying or all of these women that are accusing Cain of sexual misconduct are lying. Normally, I would not write about unproven sex scandal rumors.

And it is very important to note that the charges against Herman Cain have not been proven yet. But Bialek now represents the fourth alleged incident of sexual misconduct by Herman Cain. What makes things a lot worse is the Cain was married when all of these alleged incidents took place. At this point, Cain is denying that any sexual harassment ever took place.

Cain says that he is perfectly innocent. So will we find out the truth? More importantly, will Republican voters demand the truth or will they just allow this whole thing to be brushed under the rug? Back during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Republicans insisted over and over that “character still matters” when it comes to selecting our leaders. Well, now that a candidate that millions of Republicans have fallen in love with has been accused of sexual misconduct we will see what Republicans actually do believe about character.

Of course we already know that character means very little to Democrats. Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are clear evidence of that.

But now millions of Republicans have been put in a position where they will clearly be tremendous hypocrites if they continue to support Cain if these charges are proven true.

Let me be perfectly clear…..

Lawrence O’Donnell Chides Bill Clinton And Lady Gaga For Inappropriate Birthday Flirting

by Frances Martel | 9:59 pm, October 17th, 2011

Over the weekend, former President Bill Clinton had a several-month late birthday bash in Hollywood, lasting two nights and capped off with a seductive performance by Lady Gaga, who performed a special version of “Bad Romance” and giddily called her performance a “Marilyn moment.” Given that ostentatious displays of power and wealth are public enemy #1 on The Last Word, Lawrence O’Donnell‘s cringing reaction to the affair (no pun intended) should not have come as a surprise, but it was still fairly hard-hitting from one liberal to another.

Noting that a quiet birthday at home “wasn’t good enough for the attention-starved former president,” O’Donnell played some clips of Lady Gaga doing her thing, noting queasily that it was “impossible to keep up with her double entendres” and, finally, “it doesn’t get weirder than that”– having Lady Gaga perform a version of “Bad Romance” to the one president “forced to testify under oath about romance gone bad.” For O’Donnell, the sticking point was having Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sitting beside her husband while Lady Gaga made sexual advances (jokingly, of course) at her husband after some “very difficult conversations.”

Extraterrestrial Intelligence and the Search for God

The American Spectator ^ | November 2011 issue | Tom Bethell

A week doesn’t go by without the announcement of new planets. “Week Brings Hail of Planets” was just the most recent report. It capped a week of “new findings about worlds beyond our own solar system,” according to the Wall Street Journal. The latest marvel, 200 light years distant from Earth, has two suns. The reporter quoted John Knoll of Industrial Light & Magic as saying that this shows “science is stranger than fiction.” Actually, science fiction started this whole ball rolling, but that’s another story.

The search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has gone on for more than 50 years. In 1960 Frank Drake, a Cornell University astronomer, cobbled together the Drake Equation, supposedly quantifying the likelihood that intelligent life started up on its own. Nothing has yet been found and the search is getting harder to fund. Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen put up some money which was used to build the Allen Telescope Array in northern California, but now it is “in hibernation.” The University of California was supposed to operate the array, but they’re broke too. Government money has dried up. Three years ago I tried to visit the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California, and, on a Wednesday, found the place locked up at midday. A night watchman came to the door. “Closed,” he said.

What scientists are looking for, of course, is extra-terrestrial life, not rocks orbiting stars. The late novelist Michael Crichton gave an entertaining lecture at Caltech in 2003 saying that the search for extraterrestrial intelligence is a religion. And in a way it is.

Is Putative President Barack Hussein Obama II Really Bari Shabazz, Fugitive from Justice for 21 Years| The Post & Email

November 8, 2011 5 comments

…Finally, and the most shocking part of her report is that Ms. Trowbridge contends that Bâri′ M. Shabazz is the biological son of Malcolm X. Hence, if Barack Hussein Obama II is the same person as Bâri′ M. Shabazz, that would make putative President Obama the biological son of Malcolm X.

On November 4, 2011, an anonymous source emailed me something very interesting. To substantiate the content of the email, the writer directed me to go to a web site of the Judiciary for the State of Hawaii and to do a search of cases that have been disposed of by that State’s traffic courts. The anonymous source had done just that and so the person provided me with the information which that traffic court shows on its web site.

I did go to the Hawaii traffic court’s web site which is called eCourt Kokua and I was eventually able to confirm the information that the anonymous source sent me. Access to the court’s web set may be gained by going to http://jimspss1.courts.state.hi.us:8080/eCourt/ECC/ECCDisclaimer.iface;jsessionid=FDFF513AA90109AC4375A7CBE7C8AF36. Once at the site, click “Agree” to the terms and conditions. Then click, “Search for case details by case ID or citation number.” Once there, enter at the prompt, Case ID or Citation Number(*): 1193041MO and hit Search.” The following report appears:

The Venom in Feds’ Vaccinations

While most mainstream news media cover presidential campaigns or economic conditions, the feds are going under the radar and your skin — literally — with something that could be detrimental to your and your children’s health. News just broke about their cover-up, but few, if any, agencies passed along the wire.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 110 children have autism spectrum disorders, which is strikingly more than just two decades ago. (ASDs are a group of developmental disabilities that can cause communication, behavioral and social challenges.) The National Autism Association calls the 644 percent increase of ASDs among U.S. children since the early 1990s “a tragic epidemic of autism.”

Many attribute the increase in the rate of ASDs to children’s being exposed to significant quantities of thimerosal, a mercury-based compound that has been used since the 1930s as a preservative in certain vaccines and pharmaceutical products to prevent bacterial and fungal contamination.

According to the CDC’s website, however, “to date, the studies continue to show that vaccines are not associated with ASDs. … The most recent and rigorous scientific research does not support the argument that thimerosal-containing vaccines are harmful. … Is thimerosal in vaccines safe? Yes.”

Reggie’s the best athlete I know – Obama

The rumors of Obama’s gayness abound, but the press is muzzled by the CFR like a trained lapdog. The Globe however ran an article recently about Donald Young, one of Obama’s alleged “gay lovers”, who was found murdered in Chicago. He was a gay choir director at the now infamous Trinity Church and reputedly a friend of Obama’s. Young’s mother thinks he was killed to protect Obama’s secret gay life during the campaign. This was reported by Larry Sinclair during the campaign. The media choose to bury the story.

An article ran recently linking Obama and Rahm to a gay bathhouse in Chicago. Obama Member of Chicago Gay Man’s Club. Rub a dub dub – the Chicago way.

And here’s another story about Obama “His Gayness” frolicking in a well known North Carolina gay club. He might have met his “personal assistant” Reggie Love there, the former “tight end” from Duke who Obama originally hired to work in his Senate mail room.

Then we have the story about Kal Penn, the open bisexual, who worked for Obama at the White House and the mysterious circumstances after he left his “post.” Another Boy Toy bites the dust? Perhaps he lost out in the power struggle with the “alleged” gay personal servant, “Reggie Love.” At any rate those with experience in this area say he’s gay. So the only real question left is he really Obama’s – you know, personal servant that takes care of all of his personal needs?

Bialek was fired from NRAEF.(NRA Educational Fund)

Two earlier FR threads discuss multiple connections between Romney and Dick Marriott and between Dick Marriott and NRA.

One thread mentions the fact that Dick Marriott, former head of NRA, hosts tournaments for NRA funds and has participated in a tournament which benefits NRAEF.

A google search (http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Nraef+marriott&ei=UTF-8&fr=moz35) shows that Dick Marriott was awarded recognition by the NRAEF in the past.

Is using this N-word (niggardly) a firing offense?

South Florida Sun-Sentinel ^ | November 7, 2011 | Michael Mayo

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 12:59:34 AM by ConservativeStatement

One Broward County drug counselor has been fired and another suspended for an incident in which an “N-word” was used. Not necessarily “the N-word,” but a word that might have been mistaken for it.

The two sanctioned workers told investigators the word was “niggardly.” That word, meaning miserly, is of Scandinavian origin and has nothing to do with race, says an attorney for one of the disciplined workers.

But the county sided with a substance-abuse client who took offense. He filed a complaint saying a counselor called him “n—– dumb” in a June meeting with two workers at a county rehab center.

Is something wrong with the sexual development of human males?

The Hals Report ^ | Jan 3 | Erik Hals

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 1:01:40 AM by acroagogue

Have you noticed there aren’t as many males in the world anymore? Well, there isn’t. A growing body of evidence has begun to show something is wrong with the sexual health of human males.

To begin with, Sperm counts have dropped by 50% in the last 50 years worldwide. (1) On the other hand, sperm abnormalities and rates of male infertility have increased radically. Rates of testicular cancer have also doubled in the last 20 years. The question is, why?

Scientist now believe certain man made chemicals are to blame. These chemicals have been known to interfere with the male hormonal system where they wreak havoc on the building blocks of male sexual development. The problem is, they are everywhere.

60 years ago synthetic chemicals were a futuristic novelty. Since that time, the chemical industry has developed more than 90,000 man made compounds and the vast majority have never been tested for effects on human beings.

These chemicals are found in virtually every consumer product. Chemicals like Bisphenol-A make plastics hard. Other chemicals called Phthalates make plastics soft. They make cosmetics smell good and our fabrics stain resistant. Yet the question remains, is it really worth it?

For some time now scientist have expressed concerns claiming common chemicals cause profound and permanent damage in children. Now, scientist are just beginning to understand that some synthetic chemicals are far more damaging to boys. Yes, that’s right, boys. Read more…

Look who’s behind Occupy Jew-hating Latest astonishing claim: Protests represent Torah

NEW YORK – In the face of mounting charges of anti-Semitism at Occupy sites nationwide, several so-called Jewish groups have been attempting to spin the protest movement as Jew-friendly and even representative of Jewish ideals.

Most prominent among the groups is Jewish Funds for Justice, or JFFJ, which is funded by billionaire George Soros.

A number of other Soros-funded progressive groups are also behind the drive to deny that Occupy contains significant anti-Semitic elements.

WND found JFFJ is led by individuals associated with communist and socialist groups, the children of Soviet spies and a U.S. socialist organization that seeks to infiltrate the Democratic Party.

Obama: ‘Very proud’ of record

UPI ^ | November 8, 2011

Posted on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 4:47:26 AM by Zakeet

U.S. President Barack Obama said Monday he is “very proud of our track record” but the biggest challenge America faces is “fixing our politics.”

Speaking at a fundraiser at a private home in Washington, the president conceded he has “some bumps and bruises” from political battles but claimed credit for a string of successes.

“We were able to prevent America from going into a Great Depression,” he said. “We were able to, after a series of quarterly GDP reports that were the worst that we’ve seen since the Great Depression, reverse it and get the economy to grow again. We’ve seen 20 straight months of consecutive job growth. We were able to pass health insurance reform, Wall Street reform, end ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’ end the war in Iraq — the list goes on.

“And so I’m very proud of our track record,” he said. “But what is absolutely true is that huge swaths of the country are still hurting. A lot of people are still struggling out there. And there’s no way in which America right now is fulfilling all of its potential.”

Clarence Thomas says religious display rulings are in ‘shambles’

CNA ^ | Nov 8, 2011 | Michelle Bauman

Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas denounced his colleagues’ decision not to hear a case that would have allowed them to establish a clear standard for judging religious displays on government property.

“Today the Court rejects an opportunity to provide clarity to an Establishment Clause jurisprudence in shambles,” Thomas said in an Oct. 31 dissent.

He explained that the Supreme Court’s disjointed “jurisprudence has confounded the lower courts and rendered the constitutionality of displays of religious imagery on government property anyone’s guess.” Thomas’ dissenting opinion responded to the court’s decision to reject consideration of a prohibition on crosses placed along the roadside in Utah to commemorate fallen officers.

The case involved 12-foot-high white crosses placed by the Utah Highway Patrol Association at or near areas where officers had been killed in the line of duty.

American Atheists, Inc. sued Utah officials, claiming that the 13 crosses violated the establishment clause because they bore the symbol of the Utah Highway Patrol and many of them were located on state property.
