So just who the hell is this guy Saul Alinski?
Before Obama I do not recall hearing of him, though now his name is frequently mentioned in connection with both Hillary Clinton and Obama.
So I finally picked up a copy of his book, Rules For Radicals. the other day. Interesting book and an interesting guy–an eye-opener for those interested in what’s happening in America today.

The San Francisco Democrat and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, were questioned separately at their weekly news conferences Nov. 3 by reporter Steve Croft. Neither had granted Croft’s previous requests for interviews.
Croft asked both leaders about stock transactions they made while Congress was considering legislation that could affect the financial and insurance industries. Pelosi and Boehner vigorously denied any connection.

During the thirty second test, many cable and broadcast television viewers saw only a blank screen. Radio stations are said to have experienced dead air, while DirectTV customers bizarrely heard Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” playing in the background. Comcast subscribers reported that their TVs switched to the QVC home shopping network automatically.

Today is Veterans Day so I guess it is also a day to discuss the WORST war movies ever made. Here is my list of a few of the WORST movies IMHO:
1. Battle of the Bulge—This movie was so bad and inaccurate that Former President Eisenhower held a press conference just to denounce it. Not only was it historically inaccurate with an absurd plot (a Boston police detective piecing together battlefield clues to help defeat the Germans) but the geographic locale was all wrong with the dense Ardennes forrest at times appearing to be a large western prairie. Okay, the Panzer Lied scene was kind of interesting but the rest of it was ridiculous.
2. Starship Troopers—Okay this was science fiction but did why did they insult the viewer’s intelligence by using obsolete WWI battlefield tactics a couple of hundred years in the future? Drone rockets could have nuked those bugs without sending troopers in with machine guns.
3. Naked and the Dead—Painful to watch.

In another display that makes me wonder about the future of our country, thousands of students rioted in support of Joe Paterno, breaking windows, turning over news vans, and starting fires. Are these young people incapable of critical thinking and are just driven by emotion and mindless rage? Can’t they distinguish between facts and lies? Do they care more about football than innocent children being raped?

Among the principals held by conservatives are limited government, fiscal responsibility, and adherence to the constitution. How any group claims these tenets as principals and yet supports the state’s wars of aggression is beyond my understanding. As if the blind nationalism, hymns to the state, and exaltation of the military that occurs in some churches on these Sundays isn’t bad enough, sometimes the festivities also include the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, in church, by the congregation, facing the flag on the platform.
The Pledge is usually led by the pastor or a boy scout or veteran, sometimes in uniform.
This is not only unfortunate; it is an anti-biblical disgrace.
There are several reasons why no one that treasures liberty, is familiar with American history, and knows the history behind the Pledge (an ad campaign to sell magazines) would waste his time saying the Pledge. I want to focus on one of them.
In nearly three years in office, President Obama has conducted a campaign to transform America through a process of government expansion and crony capitalism.
Yet, he may very well win re-election not because Americans support more central planning and federal control of our lives, but because he enjoys high approval ratings for fighting wars.
Yet these wars are the same policies that allow for the centralization of power in the federal government on the domestic front. There wouldn’t have been an Obamacare if there had never been a Patriot Act; because, when you allow your freedoms to be trampled conditionally under the pretext of safety, then even those freedoms you’d never dream of giving away become endangered.

The state law is a challenge to federal policy and is designed to establish Arizona’s own immigration policy, the department’s solicitor general said in a filing with the justices. Arizona says the law is an effort to cooperate with the federal government.

The coach in question, as we all know, is Joe Paterno, the decades-long patriarch of Penn State football. Paterno was fired by the board of trustees for his part in a reprehensible non-response to the alleged rape of a 10-year-old boy in the locker room showers.
You have to wonder what’s wrong with our society when someone can say, “Of course we’re going to riot,” but not over the cover-up of pedophiliac rape. Barack Obama has read the riot act to the leaders of several European countries – saying more dramatic action is needed to avert a eurozone meltdown.
The U.S. President made telephone calls to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Italian President Giorgio Napolitano late last night.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said the president had demanded faster action from Europe.
It came as Hong Kong revealed it had plunged into recession.
Speaking from the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation conference, Geithner said: ‘The crisis in Europe remains the central challenge to global growth.

Over the past couple of months, the mainstream media has been telling us that Mitt Romney, Herman Cain and Rick Perry are the “top tier” candidates and that none of the other Republicans that are running really have a legitimate shot at winning the nomination.
Well, if either Romney, Cain or Perry wins the nomination it is going to be an absolute disaster for America. The United States cannot afford another four years of Barack Obama. But we cannot afford four years of Romney, Cain or Perry either. All three of them have deep ties to the establishment, all three of them are clueless about how to fix what is wrong with this country and all three of them would continue most of the failed policies of the Bush/Obama era. The United States is running out of time, and if we are going to turn things around we need to make fundamental changes right now. But if either Romney, Cain or Perry wins the nomination we will almost certainly be guaranteed four more years of rapid decline.
One of the great myths of this election season is that Romney, Cain and Perry are conservatives. Even though all three of them are trying to claim that label, the truth is far from that. At best, Herman Cain and Rick Perry are political moderates with deep, deep ties to the establishment. Mitt Romney is so liberal that someone needs to tell him that he is in the wrong political party.
