“When warranted, we will respond to hostile attacks in cyberspace as we would to any other threat to our country,” the report said. “We reserve the right to use all necessary means – diplomatic, informational, military and economic – to defend our nation, our allies, our partners and our interests.” Cyberspace is a particularly challenging domain for the Pentagon. Defense Department employees operate more than 15,000 computer networks with 7 million computers at hundreds of locations around the world. Their networks are probed millions of times a day and penetrations have caused the loss of thousands of files.

Over the weekend, Adam Kokesh (”Adam vs. the Man”) headed down to Occupy D.C.’s “Anti-Capitalist Teach-In,” where he captured some curious comments from participants. Among the bizarre statements to come from protesters was the notion that Occupiers may be organizing within the military in an effort to see a “revolution” unfold.

Ron Paul’s Real Electability: Stopping The Third Party Threat

November 15, 2011 Leave a comment

“For Ron Paul to run as an independent,” Fox News Channel‘s Juan Williams wrote back on November 4, “could be the biggest, most consequential third party candidacy in American history. Yes, one that is even bigger than Ross Perot’s candidacy was in the 90s.”

Persistent talk about a Ron Paul third party candidacy by some may be an attempt to sabotage Dr. Paul’s GOP candidacy and enable establishment candidates who support banking bailouts and irresponsible foreign military intervention to win the nomination. Paul has stated he won’t run an independent race for the presidency.

Poll: Ron Paul claims frontrunner status, soaring past Gingrich, Romney | The Raw Story

November 15, 2011 Leave a comment

A surprising new poll out of Bloomberg News on Tuesday morning found that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) is not the only Republican to benefit from the seeming demise of other prior frontrunners.

Beating all the odds and the pundits’ expectations, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has emerged as one of the new frontrunners for the GOP nomination to the presidency, topping even Gingrich and former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney and virtually tying former businessman Herman Cain for the lead.

All surveys counted, Bloomberg News found that Paul has the support of 19 percent of GOP primary voters, versus Cain’s 20, Romney’s 18 and Gingrich’s 17.

The fallout continues from Barack Obama’s decision to bail out on approval of the Keystone XL pipeline until the election is safely behind him. Up in Canada – home of the company attempting to complete this continent spanning feat – the Globe and Mail notes the derision being rained on the administration by our former Ambassador to the Great White North.

“It’s blatant politics,” said David Wilkins, former U.S. ambassador to Canada, in an interview Friday. Mr. Wilkins lobbied for Keystone on behalf of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. “It’s politics at its worst. It was a move by the president to placate a certain wing of his party and I think it was a real travesty.”

Retired prosecutor calls Casey Anthony attorney ‘smarmy’

In new book, he claims defense encouraged her not to cooperate with investigators

ORLANDO, Fla. — A retired prosecutor from the Casey Anthony murder trial calls her lead attorney “smarmy” in a new book. He writes that even though the Florida mother acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter “may have deserved” the death penalty if convicted, he didn’t think a jury would ever agree to the punishment.

Jeff Ashton writes in Tuesday’s “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony,” that he would have been happier if the prosecution team left the death penalty off the table. He also confirmed that toward the end of the trial, Anthony’s attorneys tried to persuade the 25-year-old to accept a plea deal but she refused to listen.

Yet another argument for the contention that we’re living in a golden era for American muscle cars arrives with the 2013 Ford Mustang, which will sport a brace of tech and styling updates across its line — including the most powerful V8 engine sold by any automaker in the world. How much trouble could you get in with a 200-mph ‘Stang?

The original pony car has survived 46 years only through annual tweaking between major redesigns, and offering a broad enough model range to lure in everyone from high-schoolers to professional drag racers. Thanks to the competition with the revived Chevrolet Camaro, there’s more muscle in muscle cars than ever before; today’s base V6 Mustang has more grunt than the V8 flashed seven years ago.

Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry said Tuesday that if elected he would end lifetime appointments for federal judges and slash the pay for members of Congress in half.

In a speech laying out how he would “uproot and overhaul” Washington, the Texas governor suggested that his Washington outsider background — unlike some of his GOP rivals — would help him succeed at changing the city’s culture. Changing Washington also was one of President Barack Obama’s goals and he’s had no success on that front since taking office.

Hours after Barack Obama scolded America for being too lazy to attract foreign investment, the President set an example for the nation by … hitting the links. And conservatives can take heart, too, because Obama got a chance to golf with a real patron of capitalists: President Obama golfed on Monday with his long-time friend Robert Titcomb, who in May plead no contest to soliciting a prostitute, according to the White House pool report. “The president’s fourball at the Mamala Bay Golf Course includes his long-time friend Robert “Bobby” Titcomb who was arrested and plead no contest in May to soliciting a prostitute, Marvin Nicholson, and White House advance man Pete Selfridge,” the report read.

Now comes an opportunity for House and Senate Republicans to push a strong Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA), but not only have House Republicans tossed an interception on the BBA, but they also appear to have preemptively surrendered a touchdown to the liberals on tax policy as part of the Super Committee negotiations.

If conservatives want to win, they should take the BBA and the $1.2 trillion in cuts mandated by the Super Committee directly to the American people, who tend to reward politicians who fight tax hikes and push for deep cuts to the federal government. Yet they seem intent on letting this fumble take its course.

Weak Balanced Budget Amendment

Last week, House Republicans tentatively agreed to put on the floor a weakened version of a BBA, H.J. Res. 2, sponsored by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R.-Va.). They are trying to get enough Democrats to support a weaker BBA so that they can get some BBA passed by the needed two-thirds vote. Conservatives may want to consider fighting this.

Before we get to the dictionary, there must be an understanding that what we have in this dictionary is a long-time scheme to defraud the American people.

The meanings of the words that are used in law are important, and hopefully you will be able to prove to yourself where our problem with the Federal Government stems with a little help from the following research.

States’ Rights vs. Monetary Monopoly by Thomas J. DiLorenzo

States’ rights as a check on the tyrannical proclivities of the central government ended in 1865, of course. As Forrest McDonald noted in States’ Rights and the Union (p. 224), after Lincoln’s war the Supreme Court “became the sole and final arbiter of constitutional controversies. No longer could a Jefferson arise to insist that the other branches of the federal government had coequal authority to determine constitutionality. No more could a Calhoun arise to defend a doctrine of interposition or nullification.”

Without endorsing former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., popular coservative talk show host Glenn Beck praised the Republican candidate as the most trustworthy in the presidential field, even suggesting that Santorum “is the next George Washington.”

“I don’t endorse candidates,” Beck said today during an interview with Santorum, but “if there is one guy out there that is the next George Washington, the only guy that I could think of is Rick Santorum. I would ask that you would take a look at him,” he added.

“I don’t trust any of them, but if I had to trust the reins of power with one person that is currently in this field and, because I think the next president has got to be Abraham Lincoln,” Beck also said, noting that the next president “has got to be somebody who knows exactly who he is, knows exactly where he stands and is willing to, in the end, turn those reins of power back over.”

Washington famously walked away from the presidency after two terms, thus setting the precedent for a two-term presidency that held until President Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected to four terms. The two-term limit was established through constitutional amendment after Roosevelt died in office.

Despite being given just 89 seconds of speaking time during Saturday’s Republican debate, Congressman Ron Paul is in a dead heat with fellow top tier candidates Cain, Romney and Gingrich for the highly influential Iowa caucuses, placing second just one percentage point behind Cain amongst likely voters.

Ron Paul Just 1 Point Behind Frontrunner Cain In Crucial Iowa Poll fb072c RonPaul 08062011

“A Bloomberg News poll shows Cain at 20 percent, Paul at 19 percent, Romney at 18 percent and Gingrich at 17 percent among the likely attendees with the caucuses that start the nominating contests seven weeks away.”

Paul is undoubtedly in the strongest position going into the race, because his support is “more solidified than his rivals,” a key factor given that 60 per cent of respondents in the poll said they could still be persuaded to change their vote.

32 per cent of Paul’s backers say they are sticking with the Congressman, whereas only 25 per cent of Romney supporters and 17 per cent of Gingrich voters say the same.

Being the first event of the electoral nomination process, taking place this year on January 3, the Iowa caucuses are traditionally seen as a highly influential in determining the final GOP nominee. If Ron Paul takes Iowa he can no longer be ignored by the establishment media and will have a genuine shot at building momentum for a victorious campaign.

The results of the poll vindicate the Paul campaign’s angry response to CBS News’ treatment of the Congressman when he was afforded just 89 seconds out of a 90 minute debate on Saturday night in South Carolina.

BETTENDORF, Iowa — Gov. Rick Perry is proposing to bring a little Texas to Washington — with a “part-time citizen Congress” that doesn’t meet so often, and whose members earn only half of what they make now.

The Republican presidential hopeful will also call for an end to lifetime appointments for federal judges, including members of the U.S. Supreme Court. And, as he proposed in his famous debate-night flub last week, Perry will vow to shut down three agencies of government.

This time he will remember all three: the U.S. Departments of Education, Commerce and Energy.

“Washington doesn’t need a new coat of paint,” Perry told Iowa Republicans Monday night in advance of the policy proposal. “It needs a complete overhaul.”

Prison Planet.com » Israeli Intelligence: 2-3 Months Window For Iran Strike

DEBKAfile

November 15, 2011

According to the briefing given to a closed meeting of Jewish leaders in New York Sunday, Nov. 13, the window of opportunity for stopping Iran attaining a nuclear weapon is closing fast, DEBKAfile’s sources report. It will shut down altogether after late March 2012. The intelligence reaching US President Barak Obama is that by April, Iran will already have five nuclear bombs or warheads and military action then would generate a dangerous level of radioactive contamination across the Gulf region, the main source of the world’s energy.

Sunday, too, President Barack Obama said the sanctions against Iran had taken an “enormous bite” out of its economy. He also said that the “US is united with Russian and Chinese leaders in ensuring Iran does not develop an atomic weapon and unleash an arms race across the Middle East.”

He spoke after talking to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese President Hu Jintao at the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Hawaii about the new evidence submitted by the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran was engaged in clandestine efforts to build a bomb.

He said both shared the goal of keeping a bomb out of Iran’s hands.

As to sanctions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a news conference that sanctions against Iran had been exhausted and “now the problem should be solved though diplomatic channels.”

The thought startles.

Is Newt Gingrich America’s Winston Churchill?

The former Speaker has repeatedly dazzled in the ongoing series of GOP presidential debates. He is “the adult in the room,” the man Republicans keep saying they would like to see on the debate stage with Barack Obama.

The latest polls (Wall Street Journal, CBS, and Marist) have him vaulting into a tie with Mitt Romney behind Herman Cain or leapfrogging Cain to barely trail Romney. This video of a Frank Luntz focus group that appeared on Sean Hannity’s TV show following a recent GOP debate is typical of the changing reaction to the Georgian. Gingrich is a long way from the low single digits he registered at the beginning of the campaign.

But Churchill? America’s Churchill?

There are all manner of people — including some conservatives — who would faint dead away at the comparison.

They shouldn’t.

Top US Federal Judge Assassinated After Threat To Obama Agenda

A Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that the top US Federal Judge for the State of Arizona was assassinated barely 72-hours after he made a critical ruling against the Obama administrations plan to begin the confiscation of their citizen’s private retirement and banking accounts in order to stave off their nations imminent economic collapse, and after having the US Marshals protecting him removed.

According to this SVR report, Federal Judge John McCarthy Roll was the Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Arizona who this past Friday issued what is called a “preliminary ruling” in a case titled “United States of America v. $333,520.00 in United States Currency et al” [Case Number: 4:2010cv00703 Filed: November 30, 2010] wherein he stated he was preparing to rule against Obama’s power to seize American citizens money without clear and convincing evidence of a crime being committed.

The case being ruled on by Judge Roll, this report continues, was about bulk cash smuggling into or out of the United States that the Obama administration claimed was their right to seize under what are called Presidential Executive Orders, instead of using existing laws. The Obama administration used as support for their claim before Judge Roll, the SVR says, the seizing of all American citizens’ gold, in 1933, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s signing of Executive Order 6102, which was ruled at the time to be constitutional.

Massive chaos, gridlock to be unleashed on NYC

November 15, 2011 Leave a comment

NEW YORK – Watch out New York City. The Occupy anti-capitalist movement is preparing to serve a three-course meal of so-called direct action that apparently includes the blocking of subways and bridges as well as shutting down the stock market.

The attempt to cause mass chaos, slated for Thursday, is tied to the Tides Center, the George Soros-financed group that funds far-left causes. Tides grantees have been helping to direct Occupy from the onset of the anti-Wall Street movement.

Occupy Wall Street is currently holding “Direct Action Preparation and Training” courses today and tomorrow in downtown Manhattan to gear up for Thursday’s round of riots.

The Occupy site announces: “Action Preparation & Training for November 17th, November 30th and Beyond.”

Red Army: The Radical Network that must be defeated to save America” exposes the extremists behind Occupy Wall Street

The training plan states it aims to “build affinity team, train to do actions and civil disobediences, meet new allies and friends and have some fun with us.”

The Take the Square website, a partner of Occupy, has posted Thursday’s agenda, outlining the radical plan as a three course meal of chaos.

“Breakfast,” slated for 7 a.m. Eastern, aims to “shut down Wall Street.”

The site says: “It’s time we put an end to Wall Street’s reign of terror and begin building an economy that works for all. We will gather in Liberty Square at 7 a.m., before the ring of the Trading Floor Bell, to prepare to confront Wall Street with the stories of people on the frontlines of economic injustice. There, before the Stock Exchange, we will exchange stories rather than stocks.”

Prison Planet.com » How Can The American People Ever Trust Congress Again After Learning Of The Rampant Insider Trading That Has Been Going On?

November 15, 2011 Leave a comment

The American Dream

November 15, 2011

Will the shocking insider trading revelations that have come to light in recent days finally be enough to motivate the American people to start throwing all of the con men and charlatans out of Congress? On Sunday, 60 Minutes opened up a huge can of worms when it did a feature story on insider trading by members of Congress. Up until now, the vast majority of Americans had no idea that insider trading was actually legal for members of Congress. In fact, as will be documented later on in this article, members of Congress have been using secrets that they have learned during the course of their duties to make huge amounts of money in the stock market. If you can believe it, during the financial crisis of 2008 some members of Congress were making huge stock moves that would only pay off if the stock market crashed really hard at a time when they should have been focusing on creating legislation that would help the U.S. financial system survive. It is hard not to feel sick after learning how low some of our “leaders” have stooped to enrich themselves. Now that the American people are learning the truth, how can they ever trust Congress again?

Even before these revelations about insider trading by members of Congress came to light, the approval rating for Congress was sitting at about 11 percent.

There is a widespread feeling in this country that our political system simply does not work any longer.

Nearly all of our “leaders” seem to be wealthy elitists that are rapidly becoming wealthier. Today, the average net worth for a member of Congress is approximately 3.8 million dollars, and the collective net worth of all of the members of Congress increased by 25 percent between 2008 and 2010.

It would be one thing is they were accumulating all of this wealth legitimately. However, it is just not right for members of Congress to use government secrets and inside information that is not available to the general public to make huge profits in the stock market.

If any of the rest of us engage in insider trading, it could get us thrown into jail.

Return of the War Party?

Is a vote for the Republican Party in 2012 a vote for war?

Is a vote for Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich a vote for yet another unfunded war of choice, this time with a nation, Iran, three times as large and populous as Iraq?

Mitt says that if elected he will move carriers into the Persian Gulf and “prepare for war.” Newt is even more hawkish. America should continue “taking out” Iran’s nuclear scientists — i.e., assassinating them — but military action will probably be needed.

Newt is talking up uber-hawk John Bolton for secretary of state.

Benjamin Weinthal, citing a Saudi-American blogger, Rasheed Abvou-Alsamh, reports in The Jerusalem Post that the U.S. Government last week denied asylum to a gay Saudi diplomat “to avoid disrupting US-Saudi relations.” The diplomat in question, Ali Ahmad Asseri, who has worked at the Saudi consulate in Los Angeles, faces the death penalty for same-sex conduct if returned to the radically fundamentalist Islamic kingdom.

Was this sober political analysis, or merely an MSMer pining for the good old days of Speaker Pelosi?

On Morning Joe today, touting a Politico Pelosi puff piece about her “golden touch,” Mike Allen claimed it was “very possible” that Democrats would retake the House majority in 2012.

Nothing new about US political engineering in the Mideast

The United States did not create the monster that wrecked the Middle East in the second half of the 20th century, but it certainly helped.

Few realize how US policy at the start of the radical Islamist era in Middle East history parallels the policy that prevailed at the beginning of the previous, Arab nationalist, era that began in the 1950s. At that time, American policymakers believed Arab nationalist military officers would be moderate, pro-Western, enhance stability and fight totalitarianism.

Today, the policymakers expect that revolutionary Islamism will do the same thing.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. military is denouncing a former Navy SEAL’s book that claims to describe the “real” version of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

“It’s just not true,” U.S. Special Operations Command spokesman Col. Tim Nye said. “It’s not how it happened.”

Laden with conspiracy theories and attacks on the Obama White House, Chuck Pfarrer‘s “SEAL Target Geronimo” claims an alternative version of the raid in which the SEAL team shot bin Laden within 90 seconds of arriving at the Pakistan compound where the al-Qaida mastermind was holed up.

Pfarrer claims the White House issued a fictional and damaging account of the raid that made the SEALs looks inept. He says President Barack Obama’s speedy acknowledgement of the raid was a craven political move that rendered much of the intelligence gathered on the raid useless.
