Republican Threatens Legal Action Against DHS Over Immigrant-Data Subpoena

A top House Republican is threatening to enforce a subpoena for criminal immigrant information “to the fullest extent” of the law, after claiming the Obama administration “stonewalled” his request.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith for months has been seeking a comprehensive list of names and other information for the thousands of immigrants who are flagged, but not taken into custody or deported through a program known as Secure Communities.

Earlier this month, a subcommittee on his panel subpoenaed the Department of Homeland Security for the information, claiming it was “not acting in good faith.” It was the first subpoena issued by the committee since it came under GOP control.

The department ended up turning over documents by a Nov. 10 deadline — but Smith claimed all he received was a list of numbers.

“Instead of providing this information, all DHS gave was a list numbered 1 through 220,995. Proving the administration can count is not what we asked for,” Smith said in a statement.

He wrote a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Friday urging her to “immediately comply” with the subpoena.

“If you do not, the committee will be forced to seek enforcement of the subpoena to the fullest extent allowed by the law,” Smith wrote.

Islam was Not For Me – The best description of Islam I have ever read

Amil Imani

Posted on Monday, November 21, 2011 7:43:55 PM by Iam1ru1-2

My breach with Islam started as far back as I could discern things. More to the point, I never embraced Islam in the first place, although I was born and raised in a Muslim family.

For one thing, I had a very difficult time following a so-called religion whose founder and followers had butchered my ancestors, raped and sold our women, burned our libraries, and destroyed our magnificent culture. Islam was forced down the throats of Iranians with the sword of Allah. In my heart, I never considered myself a Muslim. However, I didn’t reveal this until later in life for fear of retribution by radical Muslims.

Sharia law stipulates that any Muslim who turns his back on Islam should be given a chance to revert to the faith. For an unrepentant male apostate, death is the proscribed punishment and life imprisonment for the female apostate.

“Kill whoever changes his religion.” Sahih al-Bukhari 9:84:57

Islam considers an apostate as a person who unilaterally breaks the covenant he has made with the faith. An apostate is condemned as guilty of turning his back on Allah’s immutable eternal religion.

CORRUPT POLITICIANS HAVE TRAMPLED OUR CONSTITUTION AND STOLEN OUR GOVERNMENT AND LIBERTY

Peter Schweizer, in his superb book “Throw Them All Out,” wrote:

“In short, the Permanent Political Class has clearly figured out how to extract wealth from the rest of us based solely on their position and proximity to power. If you have a seat at the table, you are in for the feast. If you don’t have a seat at the table, you are probably on the menu.”

For example, fabulously wealthy Senator John Kerry (D-MA) purchased shares of Citigroup (up to $550,000) and Bank of America ($350,000) right before the government bailed out the banking industry. Coincidence or is it insider trading, the legal graft Congress reserves for itself?

Clarice Feldman clearly and succinctly described how an entrenched oligarchy exploits the American people to increase their own power and wealth:

President Obama Monday evening blamed Republicans for the failure of the super committee to meet its deadline for a debt plan and warned that he will veto any attempt to eliminate the automatic spending cuts that go into effect with that failure.

In an appearance in the White House briefing room a little more than an hour after the committee officially conceded failure, the president said his answer to those who want to eliminate those cuts “is simple: No. I will veto any effort to get rid of those automatic spending cuts to domestic and defense spending. There will be no easy off-ramps on this one.”

Tolls along the Eastern seaboard are going up so much, says Darrin Roth, that in four years, a semitrailer making the four-hour trip from Baltimore to New York City could pay as much as $209.25. The price of tolls, in other words, will be more expensive than paying for the driver and fuel.

“The Northeast has become a very unfriendly place for business,” says Roth, the director of highway operations with the American Trucking Associations, “and these higher toll rates make things worse.”

Toll rates are climbing on highways, bridges and tunnels across the country. But the Northeast, with its dense concentration of high-priced toll roads, is especially affected.

It was a busy day for campaign spokesfolk, who had to hit CTRL+P on statements blaming the supercommittee failure on Obama before the other campaigns did. Rick Perry’s statement was the most overly dramatic.

“Ultimately, responsibility for this failure lays at President Obama‘s feet. The whole reason a supercommittee was created was because the President wasn’t willing to lead, wasn’t willing to even put on paper his plans for cutting spending. It’s amazing to what lengths he will go to avoid making tough decisions. And who pays the price for Washington’s failure?

Prison Planet.com » NYC ‘Lone Wolf’ is Just Another Patsy Entrapped by a Paid Informant

November 21, 2011 1 comment

Same story, new patsy. A ‘lone wolf’ American citizen becomes radicalized on the Internet, a paid “informant” escorts him to buy bomb-making material, and authorities arrest him in the nick of time to save us from a dangerous terrorist plot.

Reuters reports, “A U.S. citizen born in the Dominican Republic, (Jose) Pimentel was arrested on Saturday in a Manhattan apartment while putting the bomb together, police said. They called him a ‘lone wolf’ who had converted to Islam and became a radical.”

New York City police said that Pimentel has been under surveillance for two-and-a-half years, since May 2009 and was monitored by a paid informant who helped him acquire materials for a bomb.

“The criminal complaint said a police informant recorded meetings with Pimentel over a period of months and accompanied him as he bought materials for the bomb…”

Although the police released the deranged and sordid details of the plot to applaud their investigative work, as usual “the information from the police could not be independently confirmed.”

Once again, counter-terrorism heroes claim this new patsy to be a protege of American Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki who was assassinated by a drone strike without formal charges or evidence provided by the White House.

Remember Fox News and others reported that al-Awlaki himself was a known government patsy who dined at the Pentagon with top military brass only a few months after September 11th. Therefore, it’s fairly easy to assume that every time his name comes up, even postmortem, that the story is pure entrapment and terror propaganda.

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Even the cartoonish plot where an Iranian-American was allegedly attempting to assassinate the Saudi ambassador involved an informant on the payroll of the U.S. Government. Attempts to link the car salesman perpetrator to the Iranian government in order to call for war were even more comical than the plot itself.

How many times are we going to read this exact story? The details are seemingly always in short supply and never independently verified, but the rhetoric is identical and half the article always refers to older cases as if to give credence to the same tired plot.

Even those in the mainstream media are calling BS on these staged arrests. Not too long ago, Geraldo Riveraschooled Bill O’Reilly about patsies and fake terror.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.(Genesis 3:4-5)

The revelation of the fall of man from his position of favor and communion with God, comes down to the fact that the first man and woman, believed the lie. The Lie promised the first couple self-realization and autonomy, but as Peter would say centuries later, “promising them liberty” they have become “slaves of corruption”.

The lie of the serpent in the garden is the underlayment of all false religion, philosophy, psychology and the entire humanistic ideal that has so shaped our modern age. We see that the attraction to the Lie is stronger than ever before, and exerts a constant influence on education, law, medicine, the media, entertainment, literature and even popular religion.

What are the components of this pervasive and multifaceted lie? Lets unpack it…

Rick Perry followed his best debate performance with one of his best speeches on the campaign trail in Iowa. The GOP presidential candidate delivered the keynote address at the Scott County GOP’s Third Annual Reagan Dinner.

Perry provided a preview of a new policy proposal that he will reveal today. “I’m going to unveil a plan to uproot all three branches of government and overhaul Washington,” Perry said. “It touches every branch of Washington.”

One part of the plan that should hit home with many Iowa caucus goers is Perry’s ideas for the judiciary. “I’m going to address lifetime federal judges who arrogantly re-write our laws from the bench.”

Perry also reminded the crowd of his social conservative credentials. “When it comes to protecting life, I offer more than just pro-life rhetoric,” the Texas governor said. “I’ve got a pro-life record.” Perry also mentioned that his state defined marriage as between one man and one woman in its constitution.

The Stop Online Piracy Act, a bill before the House Judiciary Committee, would require Internet service providers to block access to sites that contain copyright-infringing content. These sites would be targeted by court orders sought by copyright holders.

We’re all for the proper protection of copyrighted material and intellectual property, but this act vastly oversteps this goal and dangerously broadens the power of the government to censor the internet, creating blacklists based on a vague and easily abused complaint framework.

President Obama’s decision to bar the extension of Canada’s Keystone XL pipeline into theUnited Statesis expected to result in diverting the oil to China.

David Wilkins, a lobbyist for the pipeline’s extension on behalf of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, expressed disappointment. “Canada really wanted to sell this oil to theUnited States,” Wilkins said. “It would’ve been the best deal for both countries. But they can’t afford to just sit on it. Selling it toChinaseems like the only option now.”

While the president’s decision will mean fewer jobs and higher fuel prices in theUnited States, Press Secretary Jay Carney described it as a “gutsy call.” “Your first reaction is that this is a kick in the teeth to the American economy,” Carney admitted. “But in the long run it will beChinathat becomes more dependent on fossil fuels. Though incorrectly attributed to Dr. Thomas Sowell. This unknown author has made a brilliant assessment our nation at this hour in history:

The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama’s America looks like. It is an America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly.

It is an America where history is rewritten to honor dictators, murderers and thieves. It is an America where violence, racism, hatred, class warfare and murder are all promoted as acceptable means of overturning the American civil society.

It is an America where humans have been degraded to the level of animals: defecating in public, having sex in public, devoid of basic hygiene. It is an America where the basic tenets of a civil society, including faith, family, a free press and individual rights, have been rejected. It is an America where our founding documents have been shredded and, with them, every person’s guaranteed liberties.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis once said, “Sunlight is the best disinfectant.”

As a “former law professor” Barack Obama might have heard of Brandeis’ famous quote but it does not look like he understood it.

Last week Obama has decided to spend more than 400 million of our tax dollars to follow the lead of the United Nations which has declared high speed internet access to be a “basic human right.” During its remarks on this new program, Obama’s teleprompter talked up the usual Democrat class warfare divide and conquer stuff.

But the “money’ quote came from Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. His remarks included the wonderfully prophetic assertion that this would help low-income Americans in a variety of “unimaginable areas.”

It’s hard to disagree, but I doubt that Vilsack sees the same future as those who understand the continuing rise of conservatism foresee.

It’s a very strange experience to have your friends think you’ve gone crazy. Some will tell you so. Others will indulgently humor you. Still others will avoid you. More than a few will demand that the authorities do something to get you off the streets. During one unpleasant moment after I was fired from the think tank where I’d worked for the previous seven years, I tried to reassure my wife with an old cliché: “The great thing about an experience like this is that you learn who your friends really are.” She answered, “I was happier when I didn’t know.”

Fresh off the back of bombing Libya under the guise of “humanitarian intervention” while calling on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down over mistreatment of protesters, the Obama administration has taken a noticeably different approach to Egypt’s brutal military junta that is now busy torturing and killing demonstrators on the streets of Cairo.

What would have seemed unlikely—if not impossible as the fear of doing so was too great—three years ago, is beginning to happen today. Some successful in Hollywood are actually speaking out against Dictator-in-Chief Obama and the now totally corrupt Marxist-Democrat Party.

As with the commencement of all pro-liberty movements, only the most courageous amongst us first step into the fray. The others follow after they believe it is safer to do so. The brave one, this time, is producer and now screenwriter Bettina Sofia Viviano.

When Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson accepted the reality that they could not effectively govern the nation if they sought re-election to the White House, both men took the moral high ground and decided against running for a new term as president. President Obama is facing a similar reality—and he must reach the same conclusion.

He should abandon his candidacy for re-election in favor of a clear alternative, one capable not only of saving the Democratic Party, but more important, of governing effectively and in a way that preserves the most important of the president’s accomplishments. He should step aside for the one candidate who would become, by acclamation, the nominee of the Democratic Party: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

AND THE ADVANTAGES OF INDEPENDENCE

by One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet

The Atomic Energy Commission was established in 1947 by President Harry S. Truman and abolished by Congress in 1974

(Nov. 21, 2011) — During America’s Great Depression, the people who lived on farms, even though they may not have had any money, always had food. And no, it wasn’t steak and lobster every evening, but they didn’t suffer the hunger pains as their city folk brethren did. During World War II, in the time of rationing, once again the best place to be was on a farm, where many a farmer traded coveted gas coupons for those of coffee, sugar and flour. If nothing else, a farm’s fruit cellar was packed with vegetables and preservatives, while the kitchen pantry in Cicero and Newark would remain bare.

The father of nuclear energy was perhaps the most irritating and caustic man ever to have walked on earth, but he was, without a doubt, one heck of a brilliant visionary, on par with the likes of Billy Mitchell and Curtis LeMay: Admiral Geroge Rickover. It was Rickover’s vision of energy independence that fueled his nuclear submarine dream. Just as a farm was independent of outside sources for long periods of time, Rickover’s boats could stay submerged and on patrol until food had to be replenished.

Rickover’s attention to detail and his totally uncompromising attitude towards safety never won him any friends in Congress or the Pentagon, but he sure was admired and respected by the sailors who manned his boats. It was Rickover’s taking of shielding to the “nth” degree which made him so many enemies. Over the years, the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) has continuously lowered the safety standards of reactor design and shielding. The accepted amount of radiation exposure has increased throughout the years, while the accompanying cost of less shielding has been expectantly lowered.

Concentration camps were abhorrent places where people are sent to work and die. The Nazis used them in World War II, genocidally killing six million Jews and millions of others that they considered “lesser” races. Those in the camps were barely fed, worked upwards of sixteen hours a day doing back-breaking slave labor, and were shot on the whims of their Nazi captors. Disease was rampant, people were caked in mud, and the only “showers” were where the S.S. sent people to be gassed.

Enough, Already, With The Debates

The Silent Majority ^ | 11-21-11 | J.D. Longstreet

Posted on Monday, November 21, 2011 9:27:30 AM by Lexluthor69

I am not a debater… never have been. Although I have been speaking publicly since the age of nine, I hate debates.

You may have noticed that I DO tend to favor commentaries. In a commentary I am allowed to express my views completely, without interruption, and then sit back and wait for the fur to fly.

I have no interest in arguing my positions or opinions. Once stated — that’s it! I don’t argue. Its not worth the time and effort necessary to sway someone else’s opinion my way. I simply don’t care if you disagree with me. Once my personal deliberations are complete and I make my opinions known, I am finished. (I know the shrinks would have a field day with this!)

All this leads me to the so-called debates between the GOP candidates seeking the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States. Only a child would confuse the debates with a press conference … for that is all they are … press conferences. They are “gotcha” sessions. Little is learned from them though they make for grand spectacle.

Saul Alinsky, Catholic Bishops, Alinsky-inspired Campaign for Human Development ~ When the Devil comes to Church and Stays ~ Author: Judi McLeod

November 21, 2011 6 comments

Noting my misadventures of late in the Catholic churches I attend, a friend warns me that “The Devil has come to church.”

Although I would rate the pulpit politics, including the most recent one from Development and Peace’s “Help to Cool the Earth” campaign devilish, I never til’ now took my friend’s warning literally.

But In fact, the devil has come to church in the name of one Saul Alinsky.

Thanks to colleague Canada Free Press (CFP) columnist Jim O’Neill, who sent me a post by Bob Lunsford this morning quoting Fr. Val J. Peter, I got the chilling skinny on how much at home Beelzebub is in church.

Writes Fr. Peter: “As Lawrence J. Engel relates in “The Influence of Saul Alinsky on the Campaign for Human Development” (Theological Studies, December 1998), to which this article owes a large debt, the CHD began in 1969 as American cities were burning down: Newark, Washington, Detroit, Los Angeles.

It was the height of the Civil Rights Movement and the anti-Vietnam War protests.  Some scholars believed the nation was on the road to anarchy.  The patriotism of the young during the Kennedy era was gone, replaced with: “Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids have you killed today?” (Fr. Val Peter, Oct. 17, 2011).

For four decades the Alinsky-inspired Campaign for Human Development (CHD) escaped close investigation under the fuzzy warm blanket of ‘Social Justice’ that envelops it.

Satan Saul arrived on the altar when the impact of the Second Vatican Council made time ripe for the cunning of Alinsky-style Marxism.  Imagine this godless wonder getting to teach unsuspecting Catholics of the day how to follow the call of Vatican 11.  The sanctimonious sounding CHD became a powerful branch of community organizing: characteristics of which have been well recorded as strident, threatening, and prone to shakedown.  “With your (Catholic) money and my ideas, we can go a long way,” was Alinsky’s clarion call.

This was by no means Saul Alinsky in the abstract.  Arguably second only in status to Che Guevara, the world’s ruling Marxist was given $30,000 a year by Cardinal Samuel Stritch for three years to study Chicago’s racially troubled neighborhoods. (Back in those days, no one seemed aware that Chicago’s “racially troubled neighborhoods” was the petri dish result of a deliberate Marxist tactic.)

Most Americans still believe that our weather patterns are 100% natural and that our government has absolutely no control over the weather. Unfortunately, that is not the case at all. What you are about to read is evidence that weather modification is happening right now all over the United States.

This is never acknowledged by our politicians and it is never talked about by the mainstream media. But it is very, very real. Weather modification programs in some parts of the country have been going on for many years and evidence of these programs is hidden in plain view. So does this mean that if we don’t like the weather we can just blame the government? Well, yes it does, but it also means that the government has been seriously messing around with our environment and there could be “unintended consequences” that are far more dramatic than any of us ever dared to imagine.
