Gunny G: What Would Chesty Puller Do?
We live in extraordinary times. Often we hear people say, or write, what would so-and-so do in this or that case?
True, the Chesty Pullers, the George Pattons, MacArthurs, Smedley Butlers, Curt LeMays, Evans Carlsons, etc. are no longer with us. But are men of like courage now gone altogether? God knows, it would be very difficult for such men to even get a toe-hold in today’s pc world.
But, who knows, perhaps they are out there somewhere, just biding their time, waiting for the right time, the right place, the right situation–we’ll see won’t we.
The following article is about one of these non-pc individuals.

A father has told how his five-year-old son claims he has been troubled by visions of a ghostly man with grey skin who speaks to him in the night.
Dave Gerrity, 41, said his son Dagan first complained about seeing something in his bedroom in the family’s Bridlington home around six months ago.

SYDNEY (AP) — Police in Sydney may be close to unraveling the mystery of a man who left a lot of dough at an upscale pizzeria and cafe — nearly 1 million Australian dollars ($1 million).
Police say a man wearing shorts and a tank top left a suitcase at Cafe Marco on Tuesday morning. Staff at first thought it might contain a bomb but it turned out to be stuffed with 50-dollar notes.

Until recently, few people gave much thought to senescent cells. They are cells that linger in the body even after they have lost the ability to divide.
But on Nov. 2, in what could be a landmark experiment in the study of aging, researchers at the Mayo Clinic reported that if you purge the body of its senescent cells, the tissues remain youthful and vigorous.
The experiment was just in mice, and it cleared the cells with a genetic technique that cannot be applied to people. Like all critical experiments, it needs to be repeated in other labs before it can be accepted with confidence.

In addition to the Revolution PAC commissioned poll revealing Ron Paul’s strong placement in Iowa prior to the caucus, other polls place the Texas Republican in a tight race for the nomination.
A Bloomberg News poll shows Ron Paul locked in a four-way statistical tie for first place among Iowa Republicans — 20 percent for Herman Cain, 19 percent for Paul, 18 percent for Mitt Romney and 17 percent for Newt Gingrich.
CBS comes to tis senses and admits Ron Paul’s popularity in the polls.
Meanwhile, an Iowa State-Gazette-KCRG poll places Paul five points behind Cain and a New Hampshire poll shows Paul tied with Newt Gingrich for second place behind establishment candidate Mitt Romney.

If elected to the White House, former speaker of the House and history professor Newt Gingrich wants to teach Americans a lesson — that is, for free on the Internet about his policy views. The self-proclaimed “ideas man” said on Monday his course would be distributed on the Web in a format similar to the University of Phoenix or Kaplan.
“I think I will probably teach a course when I’m president,” Gingrich told students and supporters after a campaign speech on entitlement reform at Saint Anselm College’s New Hampshire Institute of Politics.

Liberalism – The Lawless Ideology
Liberalism – for the most part – rejects out right the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God. The root and source of this rejection – of these crucial moral laws and realities – is their subjective hatred towards the Creator of the heavens and earth (Romans 1:18-32). This base ideology is expressed and manifested in their disdain and hostility towards the American blue print drawn up by our Founding Fathers, which was based on the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.

Today marks the 48th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The slain president’s wife, his successor, and the liberal media blamed the murder on Dallas’ “climate of hate.” That smear cast a pall on the innocent citizens of that city for decades. I know, because I grew up in the shadow of Big D and in the shadow of Kennedy’s killing. For decades after Nov. 22, 1963, you could go anywhere in the country, tell anyone you were from Dallas, and if you spent enough time with that person, Kennedy’s assassination would inevitably come up.
Frank Rich chose to mark the 48th anniversary by smearing Dallas, again, and by extension conservatives of the present. It’s a column which should get him ridiculed and fired; no one who is so irresponsible with the hard facts of life has any place in the commentariat. The title gives Rich’s game away. It’s “What Killed JFK?” not “Who Killed JFK?” as it should be. A “what” is much easier to abstract, isolate, and attack than a “who” who had inconvenient opinions and motivations, and a madness to move.

Useful idiot is a derogatory adage, describing a person either too naïve or ignorant to understand that their advocacy of malevolent organizations only allows those organizations to conduct their business with impunity. Confused and misguided, the “occupy” movement is used by the labor unions and left wing radicals to conduct their bidding, disrupting the very business activity they need to support them. Gay rights advocates lobby to legitimize behavior that is contrary to God’s will, rather than loving their neighbor enough to lead them back to the Lord. Prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, soviet sympathizers used their influence to promote socialism and in several instances, used their positions to steal sensitive information and forward it to soviet agents. What they did not know, however, was that although the Soviets used the information, they actually reviled the sympathizers as traitors.

At nearly seven hours, US Airways flight 901 is one of the longest domestic nonstop airline flights. And Arthur Berkowitz knows how long it takes to get from Anchorage to Philadelphia down to the minute. That’s because he says he had to stand for most of the flight when he returned to Philly last July.
Why would anyone stand for that long? Because he says a morbidly obese passenger seated next to him was spilling into his personal space, making it impossibly to sit in his assigned seat, and the flight was completely full.

First Amendment Right to Petition Government vs. the Force of Government | The Post & Email
HAS THE “OCCUPY” MOVEMENT LED TO TIGHTER RESTRICTIONS ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?
by Robert DeBeaux
The First Amendment of the Bill of Rights provides for the right of the people to petition their government for the redress of grievances. But is government listening or quashing the petitioners?
(Nov. 22, 2011) — In accordance with the 1st Amendment, The People have the RIGHT to peaceably assemble.
The Occupy movement has been demonized since its inception. From the very start, political elites ignored the protestations because the message was/is contrary to the desires of Congress and the Administration’s subversive goals.
When the elite discovered they could not dissuade the protestors, elitists and organizers decided to subvert, obfuscate and dilute the message. Not only did they succeed in “shouting louder” than the original protesters, they managed to stir the pot of emotions to the boiling point.
All of the cities across America are using force to get rid of this “Occupy” blight. Cities are using police force, pepper spray, water hoses, and hauling people off to jail while we Americans applaud law enforcement’s efforts at the direction of politicians who DO NOT WANT the message to be simple: America belongs to the People.

“ … states’ rights, states’ rights, states’ rights!” — Rick Perry at the Alamo, June 15, 2009
Until you get higher in the hills, Laconia might be considered the vortex of New Hampshire redneck politics, heavy into the Tea Party. The Lakes Region Tea Party is small but might be indicative of how things will go. A straw poll on Nov. 16 gave Newt Gingrich 49 percent while Cain tied with Ron Paul at 15. Romney 12 percent and Rick Perry 0. Similar results in a straw poll at a Republican club in Alabama on Saturday: Newt 45 percent, Cain 13, Paul and Romney both 11 and Perry 3. Interesting because Perry first gave national credence to the Tea Party when he chanted for states’ rights at the Alamo. But with the sudden rise of Newt, the consummate Washington insider, the Tea Party is no longer really about states’ rights and specific issues. It’s about passion.

When the 2012 Republican nominating contest was getting underway earlier this year, it was widely predicted (I predicted it myself) that the race would eventually come down to a contest between an establishment candidate like Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty, and a Tea Party candidate more appealing to the party’s base. It seemed perfectly reasonable at the time; after all, the Tea Party had energized the GOP and propelled it to the historic 2010 congressional election victory.

San Francisco – In a victory for fair use, the publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Stephens Media, filed papers yesterday conceding that posting a short excerpt of a news article in an online forum is not copyright infringement. The concession will result in entry of a judgment of non-infringement in a long-running copyright troll case that sparked the dismissal of dozens of baseless lawsuits filed by Righthaven LLC.
The case began when the online political forum Democratic Underground — represented by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Fenwick & West LLP, and attorney Chad Bowers — was sued by Righthaven for a five-sentence excerpt of a Review-Journal news story that a user posted on the forum with a link back to the newspaper’s website. Democratic Underground countersued, asking the court to rule that the excerpt did not infringe copyright and is a fair use of the material, and brought Righthaven-backer Stephens Media into the case.
The Court dismissed Righthaven’s infringement case because it did not own the article, but Democratic Underground’s counterclaim against Stephens Media continued. After initially attempting to defend the bogus assertion of copyright infringement, Stephens Media has now conceded it was incorrect.

A retired New York City police officer living in Florida has been ordered to take down his flag commemorating September 11 by his homeowners’ association, WPLG reports.
Richard Wentz, who helped victims out of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, has been told he has just days to take down his flag or face possible legal action.
“That flag means the world to me. Other than my children, that flag means the world to me,” said Wentz.
A letter from the Fairways at Heron Bay association said the flag detracts from the aesthetic harmony of the surrounding properties. Wentz said he was confronted by Patricia Favata, president of the property’s board of directors, according to the station.
No one was at Favata’s home when WPLG Local 10 tried to talk to her.

Believe it or not, there is a place where the American flag flies that citizens of particular races are excluded from voting. Citizens not of the chosen race are not allowed to vote in an important election. White and Asian citizens of the United States there are even prohibited from registering to vote for the election. For weeks now, Republicans have attacked Democrats for voicing support for the Occupy Wall Street protesters, in particular faulting the DCCC for standing up for them. And the incidents of violence and excess have led some neutral commentators to predict that Dems will pay a political price if they align themselves with the movement.
So it’s interesting to see that the DCCC is sticking by Occupy Wall Street. Indeed, the DCCC is now raising money off that recent report of a GOP-connected corporate lobbying firm’s proposed smear campaign against the movement. Nancy Pelosi has authored a DCCC fundraising email that presents this as proof that Republicans are on the side of Wall Street and against Dems and the protesters:

This is a difficult age in which to be a conservative.
While the national executive branch remains in the clutches of a radical administration that daily flaunts the Constitution, producing an equal and opposite reaction in an electorate that practically salivates at the opportunity to throw them out, the Republican Party’s primary process seems bound and determined to produce a challenger far less aggressive then the people desire.
Conservatives have therefore spent months agonizing, as they search for – pray for – some way to nominate a candidate who is up to the needs of the time, and worthy of the public mood. Conservatives are concerned that we may indeed allow the greatest opportunity for a prompt return to Constitutional government to slip through our fingers, in the selection of a typical Republican nominee, rather than the mighty leviathan-tamer that the times require.
And it is true that in a year like 2012 is expected to be, to nominate anyone less than a candidate sharing the philosophy and temperament of the Framers will be a severe mistake.
But suppose that it happens. Suppose, just suppose, that when the dust clears from the suicidally-designed Republican presidential primary calendar, rather than a Constitutionalist like Sen. Rick Santorum or Rep. Michelle Bachmann, the nominee is someone decidedly more liberal – for a Republican – such as Gov. Mitt Romney or Speaker Newt Gingrich. Would that really be so bad?
