“I think the problem is that the poor children, keep in mind it’s 42% of poor children who live at or near poverty, it’s 25% in poverty. Our audience needs to keep that in mind.” Cornel West said on MSNBC this afternoon.
“Poor children need more than just a $1,000 for their family, they need a war against poverty to make it a major priority in the way which we have a priority for Afghanistan, and a priority to bail out banks, and a priority to defend corporate interests when it comes to environmental issues,” West said about more and new entitlements for the poor.

Get ready for a Perry comeback
By Bryan Fischer
Newt is the current flavor of the month in the GOP race for the presidential nomination, and grabbed a coup in New Hampshire with the endorsement of the Union-Leader.
However, Newt has enough baggage with enough rocks in it to drag him below surface again. His amnesty stance on immigration puts him to the left of Perry on that issue, and we now know he took $1.8 million from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac right when they were dragging the housing industry to the bottom of the sea. Newt’s at the bottom of the pile on that one.
We know one of his think tanks took in $37 million from the health care industry so he could hack and flack for the individual mandate, a concept that represents the grossest violation of limited government powers in our history.

The headline to that New York Times story could just as well be: “Obama to White Workers: Drop Dead.” Pure and simple. That would be the headline if it were in the New York Post.
The only real surprise here is to hear a liberal and the New York Times just flat-out admit it and talk about it as though it is a timely and brilliant strategy. Newt Gingrich is now suddenly the candidate to beat Mitt Romney. And conservatives are said to be “salivating” at the chance of watching him debate President Obama.
But the truth is that a Newt Gingrich nomination would be a disaster for the Republican party: He cannot win.
And it would be a major setback to conservative causes, because Newt Gingrich tarnishes the right’s ideals with his obvious corruption.
Let’s take those two one at a time.
He cannot win:
The New Hampshire Union Leader credits Newt Gingrich with engineering the 1994 Republican Revolution when Republicans took their first majority in Congress in 50 years and Newt ascended to the role of Speaker.

Newt Gingrich has goaded Barack Obama by inviting him to a series of debates and allowing him to use a teleprompter if he wishes, as Mitt Romney’s camp admitted the former Speaker is his main rival for the Republican presidential nomination.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, who has made a Lazarus-like resurgence after his campaign all but collapsed in the summer, is riding high after winning the important endorsement of the conservative New Hampshire Union-Leader.
Vin Weber, a senior adviser to the campaign of Mitt Romney, the Republican establishment favourite, acknowledged that Mr Gingrich was now their main rival.
“I don’t think it changes Romney’s status, but it consolidates Newt’s status as his primary challenger,” Mr Weber, a former Minnesota congressman, told the Washington Post.

Every day in Afghanistan there are casualties requiring helicopter evacuation. There is a high probability that as you read this, someone is bleeding and in the process of extraction from the battlefield.
US Army MEDEVAC helicopters fly unarmed into combat emblazoned with Red Crosses on white backgrounds. This signals to the enemy that our people are unarmed. The enemy tries to shoot them down.
The Air Force, Marines and British do not burden their helicopters with Red Crosses and they are armed with machine guns. This facilitates faster, safer evacuations. Army helicopters frequently must orbit landing zones because there is too much ground fire. This happened again less than a week ago. A trooper suffered a double amputation during an ambush. The Army Dustoff had to orbit for about 45 minutes due to ground fire.

Meet Judge John Roll
“Widely respected.” “A wise jurist.”
The US news media heaped on the praise, but was purposefully vague about who this extraordinary judge was and what he actually did.
The early and oft-repeated media claim “the judge was just in the wrong place at the wrong time” doesn’t ring true for several reasons, the most important being how the heck would they know and know so quickly?
Equally as suspicious, why did they feel the need to repeat this statement over and over again from the very beginning of the reports? Who inserted this into the news stream?

Last summer, when all of the pundits had pretty much written off Newt Gingrich’s presidential candidacy, my niece, a college sophomore whom I always believed to be apolitical, remarked, “My friends and I like Newt – he tweets a lot on Twitter.”
I should have remembered that.
Two years earlier, I had heard Gingrich speak at the National Rural Health Association’s Annual Conference. At the beginning of his remarks, he took out his new mobile phone, and thus began a 30 minute dissertation on social media as the new paradigm in communications, and challenged us all to learn it, understand it and implement it.
When good paying jobs go unfilled (Employers looking to fill these jobs are having little success)
We hear so much these days about the unemployment figures and the lack of good paying jobs for the disappearing middle class that it’s almost become the new normal. Combined with that, the plaintive cries from the OWS occupiers about the heavy burdens of oppressive college loans for graduates unable to find work have become a regular fixture in political discussions. Which is why it’s odd when we see the Wall Street Journal reporting on employers looking to fill relatively high wage jobs and having little to no success in finding takers.
Ferrie Bailey’s job should be easy: hiring workers amid the worst stretch of unemployment since the Depression.
A recruiter for Union Pacific Corp., she has openings to fill, the kind that sometimes seem to have all but vanished: secure, well-paying jobs with good benefits that don’t require a college degree.
But they require specialized skills—expertise in short supply even with the unemployment rate at 9%. Which is why on a recent morning the recruiter found herself in a hiring hall here anxiously awaiting the arrival of just two people she had invited to interviews, winnowed from an initial group of nearly five dozen applicants. With minutes to go, the folding chairs sat empty. “I don’t think they’re going to show,” Ms. Bailey said, pacing in the basement room.

Supercommittee member Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) accused Democrats on Monday of torpedoing the deficit supercommittee because a success would have “stepped on” President Obama’s campaign narrative.
Speaking Monday on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Toomey said there’s “something to” suggestions that Democrats had an incentive to see the supercommittee fail.
“That goes to the asymmetry of the incentives and I think there was something to that,” Toomey said. “The president’s fundamental campaign message was to run against Congress – never mind the fact that half of Congress is controlled by the Democrats, but that’s his purpose, and certainly an agreement in this committee would have stepped on that narrative for the president.”
Toomey also suggested that some Democrats on the supercommittee were willing to negotiate with Republicans, not to avoid the consequences of a failed committee, but rather “for their own personal satisfaction of having done something important.”

Prison Planet.com » Obese Ohio Child Taken from Parents, Placed in Drug-Crazy Foster Care
Ohio social workers have taken a 200-pound third-grader from his parents and placed him in foster care, where children are given as many harmful antipsychotics as the mentally disabled.
The government workers said that his mother was not doing enough to lower his weight, clearly deeming her an irresponsible parent.
State officials reported that this is the first case of a child being put in foster care over a weight-related issue in Ohio.
The 8-year-old was considered to be severely obese and subsequently at risk for the development of diseases like diabetes and hypertension. However, the county in which the boy lived in, Cuyahoga County, does not have a specific policy on dealing with obese children.
According to a spokesman for the Department of Children and Family Services, the child was a victim of ‘medical neglect’ as his mother ignored the instructions of a doctor to help control his weight.
‘This child’s problem was so severe that we had to take custody,’ the spokesman said. The agency worked with the mother for more than a year before asking Juvenile Court for custody of the child, she said.
The lawyers for the mother argue that while intervention is necessary, obesity is not grounds to pull a child from his family and place him into foster care.

These “McCain – Levin” detainees could be held indefinitely with no due process or speedy trial.

Jefferies strategist David Zervos is back again with new recommendations about how the U.S. could step in and save the global economy.
This week: threaten complete disaster if EU leaders don’t act right away.
Akin to what he said about the matter last week: The game in Europe is as we have described many times before – the Germans want budgetary control throughout all of Europe and the rest of EMU wants Eurobonds. Its a game a chicken with the entire global financial system on the line. The US should not allow itself to become a casualty in this Euro chicken game.
Zervos previously proposed that the Federal Reserve buy massive amounts of EU sovereign bonds, but acknowledged today that it engendered a “bailout culture” that Americans won’t be too happy about. Now he says there’s actually another way:

Persists everywhere. The idea that voting or individual activism will fix the trouble we’re in is a big part of what got us into this mess to begin with.
Our republic is strong, and is filled with hardworking people who will carry it anywhere it wants to go. Pitiably, the leadership of that Republic has been usurped by a shadow empire, a ruling class which has it’s own set of rules and it’s own hierarchy.
Nobody “Elected” Rahm Immanuel, nobody ran against him. Wingnuthead got “voted” in despite being as worthless as tits on a boar. The Ruling Class, despite being subject to an electoral process, will always only ever allow candidates to appear who meet their criteria.

Washington DMV offices offering HIV/AIDS testing
November 24, 2011 | Associated Press
WASHINGTON – At one Department of Motor Vehicles office in the nation’s capital, motorists can get a driver’s license, temporary tags, and something wholly unrelated to the road: a free HIV test.
In a city with one of the highest percentages of residents living with HIV or AIDS, health officials have now test-driven the in-DMV testing and are finding that it works. More than 5,000 people have been screened and gotten results while they wait.
Facebook and Privacy: How Private Is Your Profile? by Bill Rounds
Recently a Canadian woman was cut off from her insurance benefits because her Facebook profile was used by her insurance company to gather evidence on her claim. Facebook can be a good networking tool and a good way to keep in touch with old friends, not to mention a great Halloween costume, but the proper precautions should always be taken to prevent unnecessary privacy disclosures.
How Private Is Your Facebook Profile?
Nathalie Blanchard was on leave from her job after being diagnosed with depression. As part of her insurance coverage, she received sick leave benefits from her insurance company Manulife. While investigating the claim, her insurance company searched through her Facebook profile and found pictures of her smiling, evidence that she was no longer suffering from depression, and canceled her benefits. Thus you may be disclosing information affecting your legal rights.
How To Reduce Military Suicides by Laurence M. Vance
…..The report also noted that military hazing caused some of the suicides and that excess prescription medication in the military community was also a problem.
At an event launching the CNAS report, Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Peter Chiarelli said that trying to reduce the number of suicides in the Army has been “the most difficult challenge” in his forty years in the military. One of the authors of the report, Dr. Margaret Harrell said that the battle against suicide was being lost “multiple times a day.”
According to the Department of Defense Suicide Event Report (DoDSER) for calendar year 2010, 295 service members died by suicide in 2010 (Air Force – 59, Army – 160, Marine Corps – 37, Navy – 39). There were 863 known suicide attempts. The suicide rate for divorced service members was 55 percent higher than the suicide rate for married service members. Most of those who successfully committed suicide were white, male, and under 25 years old. The number of suicides in 2009 was 309; the number in 2008 was 268.
According to the Final Report of the Department of Defense Task Force on the Prevention of Suicide by Members of the Armed Forces, in the nine-year period from 2001 to 2009, more than 1,900 members of the military took their own lives. This is more soldiers than have died fighting in Afghanistan since the war on terror was launched.

Newt Gingrich is moving up in New Hampshire, but is still far behind front-runner Mitt Romney who, with 41 percent of likely voters in his camp, is holding the line with the GOP field in the Granite state, according to a Suffolk University/7NEWS (WHDH TV) poll of likely voters in New Hampshire’s GOP presidential primary.
Romney (41 percent) and Ron Paul (14 percent) maintained the same levels of support they had in the Suffolk University poll conducted in September, while Newt Gingrich jumped from 4 percent to 14 percent. All other candidates were in single digits, including Jon Huntsman (9 percent), Herman Cain (8 percent), Rick Santorum (3 percent), Rick Perry (2 percent) and Michele Bachmann (1 percent).

In Mel Brooks‘ 1974 comedy Blazing Saddles, a welcoming committee for a new sheriff turns into a lynch mob when it discovers the man is black. He points his gun at his own temple and says, ”One step closer and the [N-word] gets it!” The townspeople back off, rather like the American government every time it catches Pakistan supporting the Taliban or other enemies of the United States. Pakistan menaces the United States with the prospect of its own failure.

I would like to enlist the knowledge of my fellow freepers. My local rag the Journal News who doesn’t even allow excerpts to be posted has just changed their comments section to only allow Facebook postings. They give some lame excuse about some people are upset at the postings and it is not fair it is anonymous. Since you have to sign up with a valid e-mail address they are not really anonymous. Besides the attempt to stifle dissent through intimidation why would they do this? Is there something I am missing? Note this paper published the names and addresses of all the registered gun owners in the area.

When an incumbent’s prospect of reelection looks shaky, his temptation to take advantage of holes in the security of our election process is the greatest — especially if he believes he can engage in fraud without being detected. Should we be worried over President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign given his prior connections to Project Vote?

JERUSALEM – In response to any future Israeli military strike on its nuclear sites, Iran has been training al-Qaida elements in the Egyptian Sinai desert on how to coordinate retaliatory attacks, a senior Egyptian security official told WND.
The al-Qaida attacks are meant to target both Israeli and Egyptian installations, the security official said, as part of an Iranian plot to widen any Israeli-Iranian conflict to involve other countries.
The Egyptian official said there is also information Iran has been working with Islamic Salafist groups in Jordan that are allied with al-Qaida.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards helped to train al-Qaida elements in the Sinai and Gaza Strip to carry out large-scale attacks, including missile attacks, cross-border incursions, suicide bombings and explosions targeting infrastructure, such as oil and gas pipelines, the official said.
Globalist Candidate Gingrich Gets Influential Establishment Endorsement

The establishment has left the flubber Rick Perry in the dust and may do likewise to Mitt Romney as the 2012 election season gears up. It looks like they are putting their money behind the former Speaker of the House and seasoned globalist, Newt Gingrich.
On Sunday, Gingrich received the endorsement of the influential editorial board of the New Hampshire Union Leader. “We are in critical need of the innovative, forward-looking strategy and positive leadership that Gingrich has shown he is capable of providing,” said an editorial penned by publisher Joseph W. McQuaid.
“A lot of candidates say they’re going to improve Washington. Newt Gingrich has actually done that, and in this race he offers the best shot of doing it again,” he added.

Preparing for the Final Takedown?
There is a shocking piece of legislation working its way through Congress. A Defense Authorization bill for 2012 allows for military detentions of American citizens on American soil. These can be indefinite detentions, with no trial.
The American Civil Liberties Union statement (more of an alert) on November 23, 2011 deserves special attention:
“The U.S. Senate is considering the unthinkable: changing detention laws to imprison people — including Americans living in the United States itself — indefinitely and without charge.”
“The Defense Authorization bill — a “must-pass” piece of legislation — is headed to the Senate floor with troubling provisions that would give the President — and all future presidents — the authority to indefinitely imprison people, without charge or trial, both abroad and inside the United States.”
“If enacted, sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA would:
1) Explicitly authorize the federal government to indefinitely imprison without charge or trial American citizens and others picked up inside and outside the United States;

I’ve repeatedly documented that the Neocons planned regime change in Iraq, Libya, Iran, Syria and a host of other countries right after 9/11 … if not before.
And that Obama is implementing these same plans – just with a “kindler, gentler” face.

There is much diversionary discussion by both the establishment mainstream media and by some enthusiastic Ron Paul supporters concerning the possibility of an independent or third party campaign for the presidency if Dr. Paul does not obtain the Republican Party 2012 nomination.
I believe this discussion is entirely counter-productive.
The media shills put forth this effort to further marginalize and diminish the serious electoral threat to the GOP power brokers the Paul grass roots insurgency campaign represents. The loyal Paul supporters, while unquestionably dedicated and enthusiastically behind the good Doctor, are incredibly naïve and clueless as to what such a campaign would entail…..
