Who was the lady who spearheaded the movement to get this practice outlawed?

President Obama today said he was “optimistic about the future of Indian Country” and that his administration was working to reach a “turning point” in the relationship between Native American tribes and Washington.

“We’ve got a long road ahead. But I believe that one day, we’re going to be able to look back on these years and say that this was a turning point. This was the moment when we began to build a strong middle class in Indian Country … the moment when we stopped repeating the mistakes of the past, and began building a better future together, one that honors old traditions and welcomes every Native American into the American Dream,” the president said at the White House Tribal Nations Conference.

Obama said he was fulfilling his promise to make sure that Washington focuses on the needs of Native American tribes and vowed to do more.

Beck Explodes Over Audio of Single Mother With 15 Kids Demanding Someone ‘Pay’ & ‘Be Held Accountable’….. Angel Adams is a single mother who says that her 15 children (from three different fathers) are a gift from God — a gift that she has not been able, by her own admission and actions, to support. News reports from 2010 that feature the woman’s story (not to mention her perceived arrogance) have emerged and are making their way around the blogosphere.

Although these clips are clearly dated, they represent a disturbing sense of entitlement, while perfectly embodying the refusal some have to take personal responsibility for their actions. It is these elements that set Glenn Beck ablaze (pun intended) on his radio show this morning.

Amendment even worse than Section 1031 narrowly defeated

Senate Bill Would Have Allowed Americans to be Detained Even After They Had Been Found Innocent guantanamo bay guards 0808 lg

The Senate last night attempted to pass an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would have allowed Americans to be detained even if they had been found not guilty by a trial.

Although the fact that indefinite detention without trial has now been codified into law by way of Section 1031 of the National Defense Authorization Act, an attempt was made at the last minute to fast-track an even more horrifying amendment into the NDAA bill via a voice vote.

Amendment No. 1274 would have given the federal government the power to detain U.S. citizens until Congress declared the ‘war on terror’ over, which we have been told is a never-ending multi-generational conflict. The provision also gave the feds the power to keep an American incarcerated even if they were tried and found not guilty.

Thankfully, Republican Senator Rand Paul discovered the provision and was able to request a last ditch roll call vote. The amendment was eventually defeated by a worryingly narrow final vote of 41-59.

Earlier challenges to Obama’s candidacy were filed in New Hampshire and Georgia. State officials in New Hampshire, noting that the application had been filled out and the $1,000 fee had been paid, rejected the complaint, which now is being appealed.

A study conducted by scientists in India demonstrates that consumption of sodium fluoride results in brain and neurological damage. It was published by K. Pratap Reddy of the University College of Sciences at Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, on January 10, 2011.

Study Proves Fluoride Brain Damage tapwater

The study was performed on rats for a period of 60 days. Fluoride resulted in neurodegenerative changes and morphological alterations were observed in the neocortex, hippocampus and cerebellum areas of the brain and also the spinal cord and sciatic nerve.

In 1995, Dr. Phyllis Mullenix and her colleagues found that fluoride studies in rats “can be indicative of a potential for motor dysfunction, IQ deficits and/or learning disabilities in humans.”

“High levels of fluoride in drinking water (1-12ppm) affect central nervous system directly without first causing the physical deformities of skeletal fluorosis.” Reddy writes in the Journal of Medical and Allied Sciences. Damage to the hippocampus often results in hyperactivity and cognitive deficits.

Numerous studies conducted in China, India, Iran, and Mexico have determined that fluoride exposure is associated with IQ deficits in children.

Obama: I can kill you any time I want…

Hmmmm

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. citizens are legitimate military targets when they take up arms with al-Qaida, top national security lawyers in the Obama administration said Thursday.

The lawyers were asked at a national security conference about the CIA killing of Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen and leading al-Qaida figure. He died in a Sept. 30 U.S. drone strike in the mountains of Yemen.

The government lawyers, CIA counsel Stephen Preston and Pentagon counsel Jeh Johnson, did not directly address the al-Awlaki case. But they said U.S. citizens don’t have immunity when they’re at war with the United States.

And he don’ need no stinkin’ judges, but here’s where it gets interesting:

Johnson said only the executive branch, not the courts, is equipped to make military battlefield targeting decisions about who qualifies as an enemy.

So Obama doesn’t need judicial oversight to have an American killed on a “military battlefield.” And there’s the rub. A new law is winding its way through Congress that redefines what a “battlefield” is:

Congress steps into states’ scuffle over sales tax

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – After the frenzy of “Cyber Monday,” members of Congress on Wednesday entered into a different scuffle over web shopping: states’ desire to collect sales taxes from Internet retailers.

“Main street retailers — local mom and pop stores in many instances, and even some of the big box retailers — suffer when they have to collect the sales tax but on-line retailers don’t,” said Michigan’s Rep. John Conyers at a hearing. “Fewer purchases at local retailers means less local jobs.”

Conyers has introduced one of three bills currently in Congress to create a system for collecting sales taxes across state lines.

Republican Leaders Are Protecting Obama and Subverting the Constitution

WITHHOLD YOUR VOTE AS LONG AS REPUBLICANS WITHHOLD THE TRUTH

Americans have often wondered whether or not their government is lying to them. I think there is now no room for doubt.

Barack Hussein Obama continues to occupy the White House because of the actions of corrupt Democratic Party operatives, the collusion of a biased media and the protection afforded by a cowardly and inept Republican leadership.

When the truth is eventually told, the chronicles of the Obama years will represent the most sordid in American history and symbolize that historical pivot point when greedy and self-serving politicians collaborated with a compliant bureaucracy to trigger the fall of the American republic.

Republican leaders and elected officials maintain a protective shield of silence and disinformation about Obama’s personal history, his Constitutionally illegal Presidency, his crimes, and his anti-American and reprehensible behavior, to hide their own complicity in the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people

Winning the 2012 election and maintaining their personal power and privileges have become more important to the Republican leadership than the integrity of the Constitution and the political health of the nation.

Prison Planet.com » Senate bill 1867 would allow U.S. military to detain and murder anti-government protesters

December 2, 2011 4 comments

(NaturalNews) I don’t know if you’re all getting this through your heads yet, but Senate Bill 1867 –the National Defense Authorization Act– would openly “legalize” the U.S. government’s detainment and murder of OWS protesters and the assassination of talk show hosts, bloggers, journalists and anyone who holds a so-called “anti-government” point of view.

This is the open and blatant declaration of war against any who do not going along with TSA thugs reaching down your pants, the Goldman Sachs economic takeover of nations, the secret arrest and torture of American citizens, and other acts of outright tyranny waged by an out-of-control government.

Those who have been burying their heads in the sand over the coming police state need to wake up and face the music. That U.S. Senators would knowingly and willfully attempt to pass a bill thatlegalizesthe indefinite detainment, torture and killing of American citizens with no due process whatsoever — and on American soil! — is nothing less than a traitorous betrayal of the once-free American people. These are, our founding fathers would have said, acts of waragainst the People. They reveal the insidious plan to put in place a legal framework to end the Bill of Rights, murder protesters, and overrun America with total police state brutality.

And yet the sheeple are still asleeple

I grow weary of trying to warn the American people to wake up and see what is now right in front of their eyes, so for those who want to read these words themselves — right in the Senate bill — you can read it at: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query…
